Kleo TV. He has a book out right now, a cookbook,

quite an entrepreneur. No matter what it is, he's going
to figure out the best way to get it done.
Even when it comes to construction and building his studio
and building this club. You know, I know sometimes it
could be really hard to hire contractors and pay all
this money, and he's like, guess what, I'm gonna get
down and do it myself. So even when I'm working

(03:26):
on this building that we're doing in Midtown, he's always
offering different suggestions and different contacts that can help us
get things done, you know more at wholesale value. Let's
just say that. So shout out to Prevail. And I

there at that grand opening in Detroit, all right. And

I told Reginie, I said, you gotta come up here
and guest co host one day because she does her
host and stuff.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
So I was like, she'll be good at this, all right.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
So Sweety was at the VMA's and she was presenting
and reading from the teleprompter, and I just want to
stress to y'all, right, because I know we've all had
to read from a teleprompter before.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
It is not always the easiest thing to do that.

Speaker 12 (07:15):
It's really nice.

Speaker 8 (07:16):
Sometimes it goes too fast or too slow, as hard
to catch up. So that's why I like to kind
of like know what I'm about to say, just in
case I messed up.

Speaker 12 (07:24):
But that was so funny.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
All right, Well, here's what it sounded like.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
We've got more.

Speaker 13 (07:30):
We got more from your favorite nominees, more clips, Mark
glam and definitely warm music coming your way right after
the break, and you're not gonna want to and you're
not gonna want to miss what we have up coming
on those VMA pre sh'all. I'm how that's right, that's right.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
She looked great, though. I would say that I.

Speaker 9 (07:51):
Feel like it was a lot going on, you know,
like you say it sometimes really don't be your father
probably be. The people in the bag, probably was going
too fast, too slow, you never know.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
But sometimes yeah, and sometimes they moved around to all
different things.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Because I've definitely had some.

Speaker 12 (08:08):
Some moments, yeah, some.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
Moments down I missed it, all right.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Well, she did have to come back out, and here's
what she had to say because she sees y'all talking crazy.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Hey, what's up, y'all?

Speaker 13 (08:18):
It's me again, and y'all better stop making.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
My little stud up video go viral. I see what
you're doing.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
Anyways, let's try it again.

Speaker 12 (08:27):
Said y'all, not about to play with her. Let's try
it again.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
Time, okay.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
And look, that's when you add libble little and go
off script because I know it didn't say that.

Speaker 12 (08:35):
No, I'm sure I did not say that. She said,
oh no, let me get this right now.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
I just want to say, there was some amazing performances
last night. I think Doja Cat was one of the
top performances of the night. I'm also Meg the Stallion
and Cardi B with their bongo song. Taylor Swift was
going crazy while she was on while they were on stage.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
But Diddy, I think was another highlight.

Speaker 13 (08:58):
Now.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
He bought can homes up there.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
He bought Chance Combs, he bought his twin daughters on stage,
also Jesse.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
And Delilah Holmes. And he got the.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Icon of the Global Icon Award. And here's what he
had to say.

Speaker 5 (09:13):
This is a dream come true for me.

Speaker 14 (09:15):
I grew up watching MTV like man, I wish.

Speaker 15 (09:18):
One day I could be up there.

Speaker 14 (09:19):
I started out as a paper boy, y'all, and then
I was gonna be an NFL football player for the
Pittsburgh Steelers. The Pittsburgh Steelers didn't notice but my I
planned on being a football player, and my leg got
broke the last year, and then I got the pressed
and I would be in the clubs dancing in New
York doing my diddy bop, and then people would see
me and they would cast me for videos. And that's

(09:40):
how I fell in love with the music industry. I
saw the executives, and I wanted to chase that dream.

Speaker 9 (09:45):
Oh before anybody said, I just can't just sit here
and you just say, it's so many good performances, but
you miss my daddy.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Here, miss my dad. We're gonna get to that with me,
do it?

Speaker 2 (09:53):
And then I have to say, and I had to say,
because that was to do him with Nicki Mina, the
next move she do not play deserve No, that was
very well deserved.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
Yes, yeah, no, absolutely, and so shout out to him
for that.

Speaker 5 (10:12):
Mary J.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Blige also came out and brought him out. You know,
we love us, saying Mary J. Blige, love Mary all right.
And in addition to that, by the way, you know,
did he does have an album coming out on Friday? Yeah,
it comes out this Friday, the love album Off the Grid.
So it's like an R and B love album. Okay,
so I know he's outside with that and Megan is
Stallion and Justin Timberlake. This was also going viral. It

(10:32):
looked like they had a quote heated exchange. People were saying,
by the way, that's not Justin Timberlake who she's talking to,
But it looks like from what they're saying, sources are saying,
it was really him saying it's nice to meet you,
and she said, no, no, this don't count. This don't count.
We got to meet proper. So, you know, sometimes people
be they talk.

Speaker 8 (10:49):
With they hand, they'd be like, no, this is not it.
You know, that's just what did it look like?

Speaker 4 (10:56):
Yeah, that's also just with this with this world right now.

Speaker 9 (10:59):
Everybody put in your faces now, so it's like, dang,
what you supposed to do?

Speaker 4 (11:03):
You don't know.

Speaker 9 (11:04):
You're just looking at a video and thinking what you
think is going People were trying to read the lips, like.

Speaker 12 (11:11):
What that baby talking about, like getting into it about.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Yes, Reggie, they just got into it with me just
now that quick, you daddy, She said.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Me straight, okay, all right, well that is your yet
and we're gonna talk about little Wyne in the next
hour of ET don't worry about it and Nacki Minaj.
But when we come back, we have about last night,
and that's where we discussed what we did last night.
I know y'all been out and about in the city.
We're gonna talk about it. It's way up at Angela ye.

Speaker 5 (11:33):

Speaker 1 (11:35):
So about last night last night, last night, es, I
went down.

all right. So last night, I'm gonna tell y'all to
be honest, I was at home watching the VMA's and
I had every intention of going out last night to
an after party, and I took my lashes off.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
It's over and they didn't endill like midnight, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
So I was just trying to watch to make sure
I got everything to get ready for the show today.
And I actually I was talking to my girl to shower.
We was discussing meeting up where we was gonna meet
and then we both were like, let's take a rain chest.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Meanwhile, me, you're not beauty rants to see. But you know,
I do want to ask you, reginate, because I feel
like I haven't been outside, you know, much lately, right,
I don't even remember the nights when I was staying
out till four am and doing all of those things.
But you've also been doing a lot of acting lately,
all right, So for you, what's the balance of like

(13:29):
being out and having fun but also knowing that like,
all right, I gotta you know, handle my business.

Speaker 9 (13:35):
Yes, I feel like you just have to definitely handle
your business. Like at the end of the day, I
knew that I was out, but I also knew that
I had to be up. I put my alarm clock on.
I was up and at him because hey, she.

Speaker 3 (13:48):

Speaker 12 (14:21):
I like dying girl.

Speaker 4 (14:23):
Like costing no more?

Speaker 8 (14:28):
Okay, so now it's a different type of it's just
a shot, just a shot. I can't do a drink,
just a shot.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
And when you go out, let me do people ask
you about the show like when you're out, because now
we get to see a lot more of your lives.
You know, you guys have been on television and in
the public eye for quite some time, but now it's
all about you, and I feel like we're learning a lot.
So when you're out, do people come up to you
and feel like they know you? How does that work? Definitely?

Speaker 9 (14:52):
The thing about our family show is that people also
like my Mama Sarah. It's very like relatable so light.
A lot of people come up to ushug us give
like be like, oh Casey crazy, or this, this and
this and that your grandmother. It's like, yeah, oh yeah, yes,
but I love it though, I feel like that it

(15:14):
may it draws them closer to us.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
It's love.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
Yeah, it's all love.

Speaker 8 (15:18):
It's somebody in your family that is one of these people.
My mom her what her funny self like a lot
of people can relate to my mom and be like, oh, she.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Acts like my auntie. She acts just like my auntie.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Well, don't worry. We're gonna get all into the show
because I know you guys are here. I'm doing your
press run LaToya and Reginee. But we're going to talk
about some of these family dynamics because sometimes people also
don't understand how overwhelming it can be.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Because people sometimes.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
Think you just got it, you know, and y'all don't
shy away from those conversations and so we're going to
discuss that a little bit later. But in the meantime
when we come back, and that was about last night.
We have tell Us a Secret now, y'all, Just so
you know, this is a favorite. This is when our
listeners get to call in and they remain anonymous, and
y'all got some secrets out there, because I've heard some

(16:06):
of the craziest things, all right, and I know right
now it looks like Regine is thinking about some of
her own.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
But don't worry.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
You ain't going to share because they get to stay
anonymous and we don't judge them. Okay, So everybody calls
up here, no matter what they say. Eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one fifty, We're not gonna judge you.
We're just giving you the space to share a secret.

Speaker 5 (16:29):
This is a judgment free zone. Tell us a secret.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
What ep it's about your pud?

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Angela Gee, I'm Angela Yee, Antoya and Regin they are
here with me, hey hey, and this is their first
time doing tell Us a Secret. So that means y'all
got to call up and show up and show out. Yes,
make it juicy and tell us your secrets. And you
know they're not judgmental people at all. Now, yeah, I
feel like we don't seen it all, been through it all.

(16:54):
I've seen how y'all interact with your friends. So I
already know people could come to you and tell you anything, yeses,
and we're not going to judge.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
And that's what this is all about, no judgments.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty callers Steps
Tell a Secret and anonymous caller, how are you?

I can't do that that time. Tell her something came up?

Oh so, now you didn't see your mom's house. How
does that affect your brother?

Speaker 5 (19:26):
Don't even care?

Speaker 18 (19:27):
She don't know it was me though?

Speaker 3 (19:28):
Oh oh?

Speaker 18 (19:30):
When I pulled up, I said, your back windows?

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Why does your brother keep attacking you?

Speaker 18 (19:40):
Exactly? And then nobody can kill an exclamation.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Just for no, it can't be for no reason.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
What's your sign?

Speaker 12 (19:46):
Did you mess with his girl?

Speaker 4 (19:48):
Your cancer? Never?

Speaker 18 (19:50):
I never crossed that line.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
So what is it?

Speaker 18 (19:54):
Cancer?

Speaker 3 (19:55):
You did something you're not telling us supposed to?

Speaker 18 (20:00):
Oh no, he don't like it that I hang out
with my cousin. Maybe, but outside of that, that's what
it's mine?

Speaker 19 (20:06):
Boxing?

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Okay? And who wanted to fight when he attacked you?

Speaker 19 (20:11):
Like?

Speaker 3 (20:12):
Is it a fight?

Speaker 10 (20:13):
A few days ago?

Speaker 20 (20:14):
Now?

Speaker 11 (20:14):
I went to my niece's party, But who wanted to fight?

Speaker 18 (20:18):
I don't fight. I don't fight my brothers or my sisters.
I'd rather.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
Just bust out your mama's windows.

Speaker 18 (20:25):
Okay, Yeah, yeah, because you want to play. Yeah, and
then she shouldn't even did. She shouldn't even invite me,
like she said she was like, yeah, uh, he told
me to tell you to come on to bring the kids.
Maybe y'all can make up.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
Then she probably wanted y'all to make up. She had
good intentions, it just didn't work out.

Speaker 18 (20:45):
Well. Maybe she could uh did an intervention or something like, hey,
don't y'all come here or something.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
All right, well, thank you for calling and sharing. All right, yep,
hanging out him as caller.

Speaker 4 (20:58):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (20:59):
And I'm good? Natoya and REGINAE are here ready for
your secret?

Speaker 6 (21:03):
Hey, hey, my secret is that my manager just gave
me a good promotion.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
But I have already had a prace with Oh, so
you gotta.

Speaker 7 (21:14):
I don't know, some week or just walk out.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Damn. I mean you know what, though, I'm gonna tell
you my thoughts on that.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
At the end of the day, when you have a job,
something could go wrong and they could fire you, and
then you'll be mad you stayed when you already had
another opportunity.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
So I mean, but.

Speaker 6 (21:30):
You're the person under her really don't like me?

Speaker 16 (21:33):
So she sets on her toes to do that, and
it makes you feel that the new.

Speaker 21 (21:37):
Position is way better.

Speaker 6 (21:39):
And like you said, it's someone of her contract too.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Yeah, you gotta do it's best for you.

Speaker 4 (21:43):
Yeah, you definitely got to.

Speaker 6 (21:44):
Look out for you tell her or just walk out.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
You should tell her for sure though, right, Yeah, and
she should understand that too, because trust believe, if she
had an opportunity in a different position that was better,
she'll take it too.

Speaker 12 (21:57):
Yeah, tell her for sure.

Speaker 6 (21:58):
You know, sometimes people moving it's funny when you're moving better.

Speaker 16 (22:02):
But you're right, and she cared about.

Speaker 11 (22:03):
Me, understand.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
Yeah, And maybe y'all will still have a good relationship.
Maybe you'll be in a position to bring her over
there one day. Yeah, keep that in mind. Business should
never be personal, right, even though it gets great? All right,
all right, thank you and congratsy, congrats.

Speaker 3 (22:24):
She clearly do good work. All right.

Speaker 2 (22:26):

Angela's coffee.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
Coffee uplifts people check us out and like LaToya through
hers back. Yeah, all right, Well, let's let's talk about
the VMA's because the reason I was up late was
I was watching that while Regina was at the after parties.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
All right, now, Nicki Minaj.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Dropped a Pink Friday to exclusive during the VMA's and
so people were very excited. I saw this making the
rounds on social media yesterday, and.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
Here is what that sounded like.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
It's not like you're trying to me.

Speaker 12 (23:30):
I'm what they're trying to be.

Speaker 9 (23:31):
But somebody caught all these goofies and ticket.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
Because I'm what they're trying to be. I'm in the city, I.

Speaker 8 (23:36):
Drunk a location and full of the killers come out
bank be crying for y'all.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
But they had a back whens out.

Speaker 9 (23:43):
So.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
Is out.

Speaker 8 (23:46):
When Barbie touched down.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
I like.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
You all right, and you want to introduce this Regine
no Way literally opened the show, also came out, closed out.
The show came out with Nicki Mina And here's what
he sounded like.

Speaker 5 (24:27):
What the what a love?

Speaker 16 (24:29):
Five?

Speaker 3 (24:30):
Bout three two? All right? New Orleans?

Speaker 6 (24:38):
Is it here?

Speaker 19 (24:39):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (24:43):
You know what?

Speaker 3 (24:43):
Let me ask, do you remember the first time you
met Nicki Minaj?

Speaker 4 (24:48):
I actually don't.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
I don't remember.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
No, I don't remember the first time.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
I was way because the baby, Yeah you're young. Yeah
all right? And and you know who else was there?
Sexy Red and people posted her saying she looked bored
and she likes so the VMA's ain't got no food
for real.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
She talked about something.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
I'm hungry.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
I feel her.

Speaker 12 (25:10):
Yes, he's hitting there.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
She probably was now another person who was there, And
you know, women are really running things when it comes
to hip hop and music right now, for real, And
we saw that last night in particular. And Ice Spice
was there, and you know she has this dunkin Donuts
collaboration America runs on munchkins, and so she has her
courtesy of munch her Munchkins and here is ice Spice

(25:32):
and her Dunkin Donuts commercial ben Affleck.

Speaker 5 (25:35):
We got to come up with a drink name. But
it's not easy right nowadays, social media, the kids, it's
got to be authentic. How are people going to connect
you with Dunky?

Speaker 4 (25:42):
I'm a Dunkin grou seeing it ice Space. My fans
are the Munchskin We're going with this ice Spice Munchkins drink.

Speaker 5 (25:50):
By an idea collapse like they do, right, I spit
byes with you.

Speaker 3 (25:53):
We're called Vanilla ice Spice.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
I mean, that's a great collab idea though, honestly, that's
pretty That's really dope actually, like if and not money
girl not.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
Mad at her.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
And when it came to the VMA's last Night, Taylor
Swift was the biggest winner of the night. She got
nine awards all right, including the big award Video of
the Year Killing It.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
And you know the other thing about Taylor Swift, she
has a concert movie that's about to come out, and
they're saying that this concert film is so eagerly anticipated
that nobody in the movie industry wants to compete with her.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
When it comes to that it was surprise tour announcement.
It called studios and everybody off guard. And so now
she has this movie, Taylor Swift the Eras Tour, and
people are trying to make sure that they push dates
back and switch them around so they're not coming with her.

Speaker 8 (26:43):
Yes, so is it like just her whole tour? She
decided to turn it into like a movie. Yes, clips
of the tour.

Speaker 9 (26:50):
Yeah, yeah, they are a lot of like big artists
do that, like they hadn't movies for shows, show behind
the scene.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
And listen, Taylor Swift is getting to the money. And
by the way, she looked like it because she was
in there dancing herself to everything. Had time listen.

Speaker 9 (27:08):
She was in Atlanta for like three days. Every day
it was sorry out traffic. Everywherebody had the Cowgirl Booth song.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
It was like, no matter what, you cannot deny the
power of Taylor Swift.

Speaker 12 (27:21):
She is she Taylor Swift is really good.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
I love Taylor and she won Video of the Year,
Artists of the Year, Song of the Year I mean
kids going Crazy, And when it came to Best New Artists,
that was Ice Spice. She won for that just as
an FI Best afrobeats. I saw this too, Rama and
Selena Gomez will calm down. That is my song that
was love Calm down, Yeah, yeah, okay, all right, well

(27:49):
that is your yeetee. And when we come back, we
have under the Radar. These are the stories that are
not necessarily in the headlines. They're flying under the radar,
but we definitely feel like you need to know about them.
It's way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
Yes, it's way up with Angela Ye.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
Angela Yee and Toya and Regene are here with me today.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
Guy's hosting. We're having a good time, yes are.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
I feel like we're sitting back here going over all
these stories, listening Regenie act the same way she's going
to do to dance to the song.

Speaker 12 (28:21):
And phone for you every time.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
And we are going to talk more about your show
on we TV, Toya and Regenee, but first we're doing
under the Radar. All right, let's talk about some of
these stories that are not necessarily in the headlines. Apple,
the new iPhone is on the way, the iPhone fifteen
Pro and Promax. Now I feel like we kind of
got to get these new phones because the camera's always better,
you know.

Speaker 12 (28:44):
If that makes sense, why my phone is acting.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Exactly, that's what always happens the new ones. So the
new fifteen Pro is going to start at nine hundred
and ninety nine dollars, you know, that's always the base price,
and the Pro Max is going to start at like
twelve hundred dollars. So they're both available for pre ordered
this Friday, and then it comes out on September twenty second,
so that's really soon.

Speaker 12 (29:05):
And they gonna get that, ya know.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
Let me get my class together, all right.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
Now, the charger is different on these phones, so get
ready to get rid of your old chargers. But the
good thing is it's the same charge if you have
a Mac computer.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
Oh okay, god, I always wanted them to do that.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
Yeah, well they finally are doing it, So okay, I
might have to get this phone.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
Yeah, and hopefully that means it will charge a lot faster.

Speaker 9 (29:29):
Your phone about to stop working, Yeah, it's gonna stop
working anyway.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
I might have to get it, like I had to
get this, all right, So get ready for that, because
you know, if you want to pre order again, that's
gonna be on Friday.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
All right.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
Now, let's talk about this escaped murderer, Danello Cavalcante.

Speaker 3 (29:45):
He's been on the run for two weeks.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
He escaped out of a prison Chester County prison on
August thirty.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
First.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Well, he has just been captured. He had been sentenced
to life for that parole. He fatally stabbed his ex
girlfriend and he just got recaptured actually this morning, according
to Pennsylvania State Police, he was captured at eight fourteen am,
so just a couple of hours ago. He was found
hiding in a large pile of logs behind a John
Dere store and he was about thirty miles from the

(30:13):
prison where he escaped.

Speaker 12 (30:15):
I saw the video of him climbing up, yeah, to
get out.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
Now that's bold, because I don't know how long you
think you're going to be on the run, but he
actually was. And I was showing you guys the picture
of his face because the dogs came out. So they
said he had on a gray Philadelphia Eagles hoodie.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
He was, Yeah, they had his.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
Distinctive tattoos because he tried to change his look too,
you know, he shaved his whole face.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
He tried to look different.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
But they fortunately still captured him, and thank goodness because
he was definitely dangerous.

Speaker 4 (30:43):
Serious in two weeks, it is crazy.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Yeah, so I'm glad, and I'm glad that nobody else
got injured.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Yeah during that time.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
Okay, Lyft has introduced a new feature so women and
non binary writers can choose a preference to ma with
drivers of the same gender. So now, They said it
was a highly requested feature.

Speaker 8 (31:06):
Yes, Toya, so you so when you go on lift
on a Lyft after you get to choose who you
want to drive, Yeah, male, a female.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
They said they're hoping that we'll encourage more women to
sign up to be drivers to access its flexible earning opportunities.
It's called the Women plus Connect and so you can,
but the company does warrant it's not a guarantee that
you'll be messed with a woman or a non binary
person if one of those people aren't nearby. But writers
and drivers also will have to opt into that feature,

(31:34):
and then writers can choose a gender for it to work.

Speaker 9 (31:38):
I mean, I feel like I get it, because you know,
it is a lot of people that sometimes they're like,
you know, I like only male drivers, or I like
only female drivers, So you can pick it if that's
what you want.

Speaker 4 (31:50):
But everything is changing.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
It's like like I like that, though I like this,
I would like, would you choose. I'm not gonna lie
in certain situations like sometimes when I get a driver
in as a woman, I'm like, oh, yeah, I got
a woman.

Speaker 8 (32:04):
Yeah you feel especially if it's late you coming from
the club and different things like that.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
Right, you know, all right, I mean I didn't know
this was something that was like super requested, but it is,
like you said, a lot of scrutiny. There's been reports
of sexual assaults happening, and you know, so they also
share the names of drivers who were deactivated. They announced
that they were going to do that a couple of
years ago, so it is about safety as well.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
Yeah, all right, well that is your under the radar.

Speaker 4 (32:33):
Now.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
We do have the Way Up Mixed coming at the
top of the hour. Plus you know, Toya and Reginide
are here, so we got to get into their business
a little bit and talk about their new show. And
it's also about wealth Wednesday, So Chef Chef I can't
even pronounce word today, Chef JJ Johnson is going to
be joining us. He has a new cookbook out called
The Simple Art of Rights, and he's also hosting at
the New York City Wine and Food Festival for the

(32:55):
fiftieth anniversary of Hip Hop. So you know we love
a good chef. It's way up with Angela Ye.

Speaker 9 (33:01):
She's like the talk like they Angela jee like they
angela jee.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
Man, she's spelling it all. This is yet way.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
Yes, it's way yep.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
But Angela yee, I'm Angela Yee, and Toya and Reggine
are here, yes, spelling that yee t ye. Well me
today make sa y'all check out the show on we
TV as well. We'll talk about that in a minute.
But first, Tory Lanez, according to Meghan Quniff, and you
know she's been reporting everything that's been going on with
Tory Lanz and Meganistallion. He will be in court tomorrow,

(33:33):
she says, for his motion for bail as he appeals
his convictions for shooting MEGANI Stallion. The court send out
a notice for a ten thirty am hearing, so we'll
hear about that tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
All right.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
Young Blue has canceled his tour and he's taking a
break off social media. Have you all been following all
of the drama. Yeah, he posted words can't explain how
I feel about the remainder of this tour being canceled.
This is not a letter someone on my team type
for me, not a press release.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
This is me speaking.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
I sincerely apologize to every fan that disappointed. When things
like this happen. The only person to blame is the artist.
So I accept it. But he's been going through a lot.

Speaker 9 (34:09):
Wait, he canceled it because he got because I know
the last thing that I heard was his girlfriend outed
him out.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
Yeah, he flew another girl out, but nothing happened between them.
He said her something wasn't right, and so she You know,
he's having problems at home, and then you know him
and Boosy have been having there back and forth as well.
So he said his mental health, he has to get
that right, and I respect that.

Speaker 12 (34:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
You know, sometimes work matters, but your mental health matters
even more.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
You can't even function properly without that.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
Especially performing in front of all of those.

Speaker 12 (34:43):
Pieces, dealing with people period.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Yeah, yeah, up, and social media, he's taking a break
from there. You know, we gotta do that sometimes too.

Speaker 8 (34:49):
Yes, you need those social media breaks, that's important, all.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
Right, And Gilly the Kid, He did an interview with
the Pivot Podcast and he talked about the emotional arc
of losing his child.

Speaker 20 (34:59):
Here what he said, the worst time had to be
when I had to wash his body, But it was
also the best because I became a man that day
when I washed my son's body. It was a gift
and a curse. It was a good thing and a
bad thing because it was a very painful thing to
see your son laying there, cool and stiff. But I

(35:19):
know I sent them off, right, But yeah, that was
the day that I knew it was real.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
That is sane, such a painful thing to have to
go through. So we are sending you some love, Gilly,
to your whole family, your wife, everybody, all right, And
the Jennifer Hudson Show and Sherry are going to be returning,
you know, the strikes are going on. The Talk is
also going to be returning. And we talked about Drew Barrymore.
Drew Barrymore show just taps a couple of blocks away.

(35:49):
I walked past there every morning, so they've been outside
protesting the past couple of days. Because her show is
starting next week, and you know Taman Hall Show already
started last week, so the writer is an actor. Strikes
are still underway, but the teens behind daytime talk shows
are still planning to move forward.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
So they're actually doing that show tomorrow. Yeah, which one okay?

Speaker 2 (36:11):
Yeah, So you know other daytime talk shows including The
View Live with Kelly and Mark, they've all been filming
new episode through the strikes, and so Jennifer Hudson is
going to be bringing their season back with our writers.
But once the new contract is established, they will have
the writers that are part of the union come back
to all right. That's a hard thing because people got

(36:31):
to support their families and their homes, all kinds of
things going on, but you also want to be in
solidarity with people who are on strikes. So as long
as you're doing things the way that you're supposed to
without using union, you know, it's just tough.

Speaker 12 (36:45):
Yes, I'm just playing.

Speaker 4 (36:46):
That all of this gets situated because it is tough.

Speaker 12 (36:50):
It's affecting people's lives.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
All right.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
Well, that is your yee tee, and you know Toya
and Regenid are here, so when we come back, there
are so many things to talk about because y'all got
to your new shoe. So on we TV out right now, Okay,
we get to see the real family dynamics of what
goes on behind the scenes. It is not all picture perfect.
That's what I'm not might want to think. So we're
going to talk about some of the family dynamics. Also, Reginae,

(37:14):
you started off the series with a man, so we're
going to see where you are with that. Now.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
It's way up with Angela ye.

Speaker 5 (37:22):
Yeah, she back at it. Bring in the Way Up
with Angela Yee is on.

Speaker 3 (37:28):
What's up his Way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
I'm Angela Yee and I've been having fun with my
co host today Toya and Regine.

Speaker 4 (37:34):
Yes, we've been having fun too.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
Listen, this is your vibe right here.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
Yes, I feel like for Reginae, I see her doing
something like this.

Speaker 4 (37:41):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 12 (37:41):
Always tell me that you always say that.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
Yeah, So let's talk about Toya and Reginee on we
TV because I want to make sure we get that
in because I've been watching the show learning a lot
about your family and your family dynamics and the first
few episodes. Well, first let's start with you, Regene. We
get to see you with your man, armand is that
your ex?

Speaker 4 (38:00):
Man?

Speaker 2 (38:01):
Now, yes, that's my ex okay. And so when this
was film, clearly we didn't know. We couldn't foresee the
future to know what was gonna end up happening. But
how was it for you revisiting those old episodes when
you felt like things were gonna be?

Speaker 17 (38:16):
It?

Speaker 4 (38:16):
Definitely?

Speaker 9 (38:18):
You know, it kind of makes me feel a way
because who wants to relive or breakup especially when you know,
you guys saw me and him in our relationship. We
both were so connected and we did love each other
and we did, like, you know, bond with each other.
So just the fact to rewatch that it is a lot.
But hey, that's life.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
Are y'all on decent terms now? Or no?

Speaker 12 (38:42):
Do you say we're cool alwaysh I'm the best?

Speaker 19 (38:44):
Mm?

Speaker 3 (38:44):
Sounds like.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
Are we gonna find out more as the show goes
on about what happened?

Speaker 3 (38:57):
Or is this something that.

Speaker 4 (39:00):
The shell go on? You're definitely gonna find out just
like how yeah, things went with us?

Speaker 2 (39:05):
Okay, All right now, Toya, let's talk about you, okay,
Because we don't realize sometimes the pressure that we put
on people in our families or what people are going through.
So to see a lot of you holding it down
with your family. Your brother is an artist, Casey. Casey
is a rapper, and he has some issues with the
fact that he don't feel like y'all really promote him

(39:26):
or support him the way that you the way that
you should.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
Here's what he had to say.

Speaker 8 (39:31):
You expect us to make your music.

Speaker 1 (39:34):
I just feel like something you.

Speaker 18 (39:39):
Can listen to my soul.

Speaker 8 (39:42):
I'm your sister, I'm not your mama, and I'm not
your music executive.

Speaker 13 (39:45):
Nothing.

Speaker 9 (39:46):
Let me tell you when I learned about men like you,
No matter what we do or how many times, no way,
it's never going to be enough. It's nothing that nobody
gonna ever do in your life that's gonna ever be
good enough for you. I've been supporting you way you music.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
Oh boy, you played this music for Wayne Yet No.

Speaker 12 (40:10):
We're for real like we have supported Casey.

Speaker 8 (40:16):
Like time and time again, on and off social media
did lots of things to support Casey.

Speaker 12 (40:21):
We put moted his music and all that.

Speaker 8 (40:22):
The problem is not us posting his music, like he said,
it's him expecting us to blow his song up and
make him the next popping artists when in reality, we
can't do that, Like your music have to speak for itself.
You got to get out here and work and get
it out the mud, like you say, like we can
post your music, yes, all day, but you know you
it's up to you to, like you know, make people

(40:45):
love you and love your songs and stuff.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
And as far as like us playing his music for Wayne,
I never.

Speaker 9 (40:50):
Said I haven't, but you know what today every day,
every day.

Speaker 4 (40:56):
Okay every day to day, you hear that case listen,
he just I don't say in it right now.

Speaker 8 (41:03):
Situations where it's like it's so hard to connect Casey
with people that you know and have relationships with because
he don't listen and he's so high headed. So it's like,
I'm big on relationships, Like I have plenty of people
in the industry that I've been cool with for years.

Speaker 4 (41:18):
But if you.

Speaker 8 (41:20):
Gonna be a high head and be snapping and ruining relationships,
it's like you got to get yourself together first, right
know what I'm saying, Like before we go out here
and go all out for you, like you going off
on us. You think I'm gonna introduce you to my
friends and people that can possibly help you get on
and you spassing and going.

Speaker 2 (41:37):
They're like, yo, but I will say this. You giving
him the platform of being on this show. Now, it's
gonna make people go and be like, let me go listen.
Because you even went to a show where he was performing.
You always there, so you vibe in you know. So
I mean, I also feel like people can't expect you
to do everything.

Speaker 12 (41:55):
No, you can.

Speaker 2 (41:56):
You know, I'll let you. I'll let people know you
do music. I'm a we're on the show, We're gonna
have some scenes. What you're doing your music. Now, let's
see where you take it from there.

Speaker 8 (42:05):
I want to give you the platform, and I want
to see you work this platform and make the best
of it. And we're gonna post your music and do stuff.
But I'm not a music executive. I don't do music that.

Speaker 3 (42:15):
I you behind the scenes here, she'd be like, what's
that right? Those who know me, no, Like that is
not my line.

Speaker 2 (42:25):
I don't even know what be going on. Okay, may
keep me up on the ladies. And one of the
main things about your relationship is you've always said you
feel like you guys grew up together anyway, and so
now you're in a situation where Regine, I feel like
does some things that she's kind of motherly toward you.

Speaker 8 (42:43):
I think the problem is when it comes to my family.
My husband and my daughter always tell me you can't
allow people to always get you out of character and
get you so worked up, and they see how upset
I get behind the things that go on with my family.
So when I'm having those moments, it takes Regie native
remind me of my husband to remind me, you know, like, look,

(43:04):
you can't like you. You're falling into the trap.

Speaker 3 (43:07):
Came down.

Speaker 8 (43:08):
Yeah, like calm down, and she'd be right, And you
know it is different now times is shamed.

Speaker 12 (43:13):
So yeah, she do school me on the new.

Speaker 7 (43:17):
Things.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
Because one consensus is that you don't listen. They say
I'm hard to talk You're hard to talk to, So
why is that?

Speaker 3 (43:25):
Yes, so listen, you.

Speaker 4 (43:27):
Still not still feel that way what you thought we
was playing?

Speaker 3 (43:30):
And I'm saying, nothing changed, nothing changed a couple of us. Baby,
do you think I changed? Robber?

Speaker 4 (43:44):
Let me up.

Speaker 8 (43:45):
You're very passionate about the way I feel about things.
So when they come to me and they telling me
about stuff and asking me for advice, I'm real strong
and passionate about it. So it's like they take that like, oh,
we can't tell her nothing. She's at the talk too,
but guess what they always coming to me to talk
to talk like make it make sense.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
Okay, that is definitely ironic.

Speaker 4 (44:09):
Yeah, because she's a good person to talk to.

Speaker 9 (44:14):
But it's only when she has her mindset on something
that's when you can't take Okay, she's stubborness, very stubborn
in ways where it's like if she thinks it's supposed
to go like this, then it's supposed to go like this,
and it could be a hundred others.

Speaker 3 (44:28):
It's my opinion, right, all right, like to be a
good attorney. Yeah, yeah, opinions.

Speaker 2 (44:40):
And you know, make sure your guys tune in though,
because the dynamic also between Toya, you and your sister too.
I think it's something that a lot of people will
be able to relate to because she's dating somebody that
y'all really didn't care for.

Speaker 12 (44:53):
She has two relationships. She have a man.

Speaker 8 (44:56):
She had a man and she had a woman, and
you know, her relationship with the woman, you know, the
woman was kind of trying to come between the family
and you know, come between our relationship and creating like
problems and stuff.

Speaker 2 (45:09):
But all right, well y'all tune in because let me
tell you something you will really enjoy. And I feel
like I learned a lot more about you, guys, because
I think we've watched you grow up, Regine, you know,
from a distance, so it's nice to see you behind
the scenes, the work that you put in with your acting,
you know, so the growth, yes.

Speaker 4 (45:28):
And I'm proud.

Speaker 9 (45:29):
I'm happy for people to see that, you know, I
actually do work for what I wanted, just because you know,
my dad is who is my mom was? They feel
like I just get everything handed to me, and really
I do have to work for what I want.

Speaker 17 (45:41):
Yea.

Speaker 4 (45:41):
I feel like.

Speaker 9 (45:42):
People kind of like take that away from me, but
they're going to see on a show that that's totally.

Speaker 3 (45:47):
She really was boxing getting ready.

Speaker 12 (45:49):
For her movie, boxed into Boxing.

Speaker 2 (45:52):
Into and she it looked like she might knock you out.
But we do have a wealth Wednesday, Chef JJ Johnson
is going to be joining us. Just Eats with Chef
JJ is his show that's on Kleo TV because you know,
we like to eat. And he also has a new cookbook,
The Simple Art of Rice. Okay, it's way up at
Angela Yeetoya and Regine are here kind.

Speaker 14 (46:10):
Of dream of wealthy and I don't mind sharing my.

Speaker 1 (46:13):
Wealth dog getting you straight financially, mentally and physically.

Speaker 5 (46:16):
This is wealth Wednesday on way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (46:19):
What's up? It's way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.

Speaker 2 (46:22):
And I didn't do this just for the food. But
Chef JJ Johnson is here with us today. What's up,
Chef JJ Johnson?

Speaker 3 (46:29):
What I call you? Chef?

Speaker 18 (46:30):
JJ?

Speaker 3 (46:31):
Johnson's chef?

Speaker 9 (46:31):
What do you just scoll me?

Speaker 19 (46:32):
JJ?

Speaker 15 (46:32):
We're not in the kitchen.

Speaker 3 (46:33):
Okay, all right, but you do have some food for
me from your restaurant.

Speaker 15 (46:36):
I do have some food food for my field trip.

Speaker 3 (46:39):
I'll field trip, sorry, field trip.

Speaker 15 (46:40):
Yes, it's all good.

Speaker 21 (46:41):
We have a location in Harlem Rock Center and one
Upper West Side in front of Columbia University.

Speaker 3 (46:47):
And the goal is for this to be all over right.

Speaker 21 (46:49):
The goal is for it to grow, you know, for
people to get affordable food and neighborhoods that look like
ours or working class neighborhoods.

Speaker 15 (46:57):
I'm fortunate to be up to three locations and so
keep trying to grow.

Speaker 2 (47:01):
I was talking to you about the movie Hunger that
I was just watching, and I was like, because on
there it was like, look, chefs, it makes it look
like they the head chef has no sense of humor.
You're not allowed to do certain things. And it was
a well oiled machine, but it also felt super stressful.
But you're saying that's old school.

Speaker 21 (47:18):
Yeah, I think the industry is just it is stressful
because we are at the hands of the people and
you are looking for your food. So we try to
get it to be an oiled machine. But all that raw, raw, raw,
not treating people, right, that's the old industry. We're we
are trying not to be like that anymore. And I
know my kitchen for not doing that.

Speaker 3 (47:37):
I want to talk about. I watched you on Good
Morning America.

Speaker 2 (47:39):
One thing I did not realize is that you're supposed
to ask salt after the rice is cooked. This whole time,
I always put my rice, my salt in the rice
while it's cooking.

Speaker 3 (47:48):
Really, yeah, I didn't know.

Speaker 21 (47:50):
Well, yeah, if you put the salt in the rice
after it's cooked, the rice will cook quicker, and it
will cook evenly, and the grains will burst.

Speaker 2 (47:57):
Right now, I'm talking to chef JJ Johnson. You have
this book, The Simple Art of Rice. Yes, that has
some really amazing recipes, right, and rice is kind of
a staple for me, and so I want to talk
about the health benefits of rice and what type of
rice we should be eating because we always hear people
say if you're trying to lose weight or you want
to do better, rice doesn't have nutritional value.

Speaker 3 (48:20):
White rice, they say, always doesn't have nutritional value.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
Now for you, I'm going to get your thoughts on that,
because I always try to eat brown rice. My favorite
rice is black rice, me too, right, Okay, good.

Speaker 15 (48:30):
Yeah, it has vitamin B, amino acids, it's grown black.
It's more than everything else, and the serve black. You
can't do nothing to it.

Speaker 21 (48:39):
So I tell anybody who has diabetes out there, or
family lims with diabetes, they just start putting black rice
into their diet.

Speaker 12 (48:44):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (48:44):
So I love black rice, all right, So talk to
me about what they say about rice and how white
rice is supposedly not good for you and it has
no health benefits. I just want to know because I'm
a person who always thinks about health too.

Speaker 21 (48:56):
There's a lot that the reason why media beats up
rice is because it was a cash crap for America
and we used to grow it okay, and when we
stopped growing it, people couldn't grow rice the same way.
So the rice that started to come on the market
was this par boiled, enrich rice grain that isn't good

(49:18):
for us, and that's what most of us absorb. Now,
I think we have access to better supermarkets, we have
access to more knowledge, and there's different types of rice
on the shelf. Maybe where you live, you might be
able to chance to get to a farmer's market where
you might be able to get freshly milled rice. So
brown rice versus white rice, I think they all have
their own benefits. Brown rice is a whole grain. White

(49:42):
rice just doesn't have as much nutritional value as the
brown rice does because a brand and the germ is
taking off.

Speaker 15 (49:47):
I can get really geeky about this stuff.

Speaker 19 (49:49):
Now.

Speaker 21 (49:50):
To me, a guy that I work out with from
time to time, dude named Joe Holder, says that the
best rice you should eat is you should steam your rice.
When it's done, let it sit there, come back from
the gym. That rice that starts to stick together, that
you love, that that rice starch is actually good for
you to to take to build muscle when you come.

Speaker 15 (50:08):
Out of the gym. Okay, so, but you know, everything
is good in moderation, right.

Speaker 3 (50:12):
We don't want to just eat rice all day, like
I know, but.

Speaker 21 (50:15):
I talk about that and I talk about that in
the cookbook The Simple Art of Rice, and I break
down thirty different rice grains that you can add into
your to your cabinet. But if you can't get them,
you can have rice with lentils and chickpeas. You can
have rice for breakfast. You can make rice crepes, you
can make rote. There's many different things that I take
you on a journey with and also to make your
kitchen a lot simpler so that if you're working parent

(50:36):
you can cook for a couple of days.

Speaker 15 (50:37):
In the week.

Speaker 2 (50:37):
Right now, I'm talking to chef today, Jay Johnson. How
are you about eating at people's houses? Like, when other
people are cooking for you?

Speaker 3 (50:43):
Is that hard for you?

Speaker 13 (50:44):
Down?

Speaker 15 (50:44):
For I love it.

Speaker 21 (50:45):
I cook for people all the time. The problem is
when you're a chef and somebody else cooks, they always
invite you.

Speaker 15 (50:50):
In the kitchen. Hey, you'll come over here.

Speaker 3 (50:52):
What you do right now?

Speaker 15 (50:53):
And then next thing, you know, you're cutting limes and
lemons or your.

Speaker 21 (50:56):
Help, because it's just natural in you to help out, right,
But my friends always are scared to invite me to
the house when they're cooking. They're like, uh, you're gonna
bring the field trip or you're gonna come over some food.

Speaker 3 (51:05):
We just bring some food with too, right.

Speaker 2 (51:06):
So, and you do have a cooking show too, Let's
not forget that. That's on Kleo TV. So let's talk
about that for a second.

Speaker 21 (51:12):
Yeah, you have a cooking show on Cleo TV called
Just Eats a Chef JJ. We're in our fifth season.

Speaker 3 (51:16):
I'll be on this season. I already booked my time slots.

Speaker 15 (51:19):
I can't wait. I can't wait to get you in
the kitchen.

Speaker 3 (51:22):
My only contingency I was like, can I bring my
coffee you know, with me, so we can use my coffee?

Speaker 15 (51:26):
And we got it.

Speaker 3 (51:27):
Let's do okay, perfect.

Speaker 15 (51:29):
I already know I'm cooking. You got my mind thinking
now what we're gonna.

Speaker 3 (51:31):
Do some type of coffee rub.

Speaker 15 (51:33):
Maybe maybe do a little vinegarrette with the coffee.

Speaker 3 (51:36):
So talk about the cooking show just for a second here.

Speaker 2 (51:38):
And like some people that have been featured on the show,
and what made you decide to do your own thing
with that that happened.

Speaker 21 (51:45):
Shout out to Rochel Brown and Powerhouse Productions. They came
to me and said, hey, we have we think you're
great on camera. There's a new startup network coming out
part of TV one called Cleo TV. We'd love for
you to kick it off. And I was like, my
dream I used to walk. I used to walk the
halls of high school telling people, oh, man would be
better than Emerla gush. Yeah, You're like, yeah, all right, man, whatever,

(52:06):
nobody's gonna be a chef. So to be on television
is a dream.

Speaker 19 (52:11):
You know.

Speaker 21 (52:11):
We've had Slim Thug, We've had and Andy, and we
have some of my friends, we have influencers. We're about
to have you, which is super exciting. But it's kitchen
table talk. You come on, We're kicking it and I'm cooking.
It's like you just said, like you're in my kitchen
and I'm just walking through some things that you've probably
never seen on television before on the on the food

(52:31):
stations that we watch.

Speaker 3 (52:33):
All right, Chef JJ Johnson is here.

Speaker 2 (52:35):
His cookbook The Simple Art of Rice is out right now,
we got more of him when we come back.

Speaker 3 (52:38):
It's way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 9 (52:40):
I had a dream of wealthy and I don't mind
sharing my.

Speaker 1 (52:43):
Wealth dogs getting you straight financially, mentally and physically. This
is wealth Wednesday on Way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (52:50):
What's up?

Speaker 2 (52:51):
It's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee and
Chef JJ Johnson is here with me.

Speaker 3 (52:55):
You know what I want to ask you? As a chef?
Does it bother you when people are like, I don't
eat this? Can I set to this?

Speaker 2 (53:00):
Because I know in some restaurants it's like no substitutions, right,
and chefs y'all have this whole thing planned out like
this goes with this. This balance is this, and so
certain people may not like sauces, or some people might
be like before they even taste the food, I need
hot sauce or I need this, I need X, Y
and Z. From your point of view, how does that
affect you? Or are you just cool with everything? Are
you sometimes like DJ's hate when you go and request

(53:22):
songs sometimes? Are you the type of chef that is like,
all right, Like I put this together specifically for you
to have this flavor with this flavor.

Speaker 15 (53:30):
Well, yeah, I mean you said it.

Speaker 21 (53:31):
We're artists, right, So like when we're developing a dish,
we're trying to get you the maximum flavor point, Like
you can get some salty, some umami, some sweetness, some crunch.

Speaker 15 (53:41):
But that's how I think. So when you come in
and you're like.

Speaker 21 (53:43):
OHJJ, can I have no barbecue sauce, I'm like, sure, sure,
why don't you just why don't you just taste it?
And if you don't like it, then I'll give you
without the barbecue sauce. But I do think it's one
thing to have an allergy. I just think, like, if
you're going to go out to eat, just try.

Speaker 2 (54:01):
It right, because I like don't eat anything, and it
kind of sucks because I don't eat seafood.

Speaker 3 (54:05):
I don't eat red meat. I don't eat pork, and
then I don't like this. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (54:10):
Well, I stopped eating red meat when I was seventeen
years old. When I started college, I just stopped eating it.
I haven't had ports since I was like a little kid.

Speaker 15 (54:16):
It's cool.

Speaker 2 (54:17):
I just don't eat pork and then seafood. My mother
never ate seafood, so I never ate.

Speaker 3 (54:21):
It growing up.

Speaker 15 (54:21):
Have you tried it?

Speaker 2 (54:23):
No, I ate a piece of fish by accident because
I thought it was chicken and almost but the taste
of it was so disgusting to me. I was at
a wedding and I spit it right back out, unfortunately.
But yeah, it's just something that I never ate growing up.
And then my goal is to one day be a vegetarian.

Speaker 15 (54:37):
Well, I think big up to vegetarians. I think is
a great thing.

Speaker 3 (54:40):
Right now, I'm talking to chef JJ Johnson.

Speaker 2 (54:42):
Now, I also want to talk about the New York
City Win and Food Festival because that's another place where
we're going to see each other coming up.

Speaker 15 (54:47):
It's gonna be fun.

Speaker 3 (54:48):
Yeah, So let's talk about what you have.

Speaker 2 (54:50):
Going on because it's the fiftieth anniversary of hip hop
and I know I see is gonna be there. I'll
be there. So what is happening at the New York
City Wine and Food Festival? Just so people know and
people can actually come to this, right.

Speaker 15 (55:01):
Yes, they didn't come to.

Speaker 21 (55:02):
I think it's gonna be one of the best events
ever in New York City Food and Wine Festival all time.

Speaker 15 (55:06):
The food theme of the event is the cookout, and
you know, What do you bring to the cookout?

Speaker 19 (55:11):
What you bring?

Speaker 3 (55:12):
What am I bringing to the cookout? I'm bringing some coffee.

Speaker 15 (55:14):
Bring some coffee.

Speaker 3 (55:15):
Nobody has coffee or a cookout. But I tell you
what I like.

Speaker 2 (55:18):
Grilled vegetables. That's what That's what I'm bringing, just for
other people who are vegetarians. I love to put my
corn on the cob, on the grill. I even like
any type of like zucchini, all of that stuff like
on the grill. I think it's delicious. Yeah, it's a
different type of vibe. I think no food tastes better
than food that's on the grill.

Speaker 21 (55:35):
I think I love zucchini, like zucchini come off the grill, basil, rice, wine, vinegar,
just like that, some salt.

Speaker 3 (55:41):
Okay, delicious, little tips here.

Speaker 21 (55:44):
But yeah, at the cookout, everybody who's asking every chef,
like eighteen chefs were asked, what would you bring to
the cookout? Only are you not allowed to bring to
the cookout as potato, salo or raisins in it?

Speaker 3 (55:52):
Okay, no, absolutely not.

Speaker 21 (55:54):
And I hand selected all the chefs. They're all African
American chefs from New York City.

Speaker 3 (55:59):
Nice.

Speaker 21 (56:00):
Everybody's bringing something different they'll be beef patties and cocoa
bread pressing from Lures bringing his famous fried shrimp.

Speaker 15 (56:06):
I'm doing Liberian joelaf Oh.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
I cannot wait for this so and I don't feel
like the Wine and Food Festival has ever done anything
like this before.

Speaker 15 (56:14):
No, never done anything like it before.

Speaker 21 (56:15):
I worked with I've been working with Lee Schrager, but
over the last two years I reached out to him
and was like, listen, we got to get a little
bit more diverse. There's more black chefs cooking at the
high level owning restaurants than ever.

Speaker 15 (56:27):
Why are we not focused on them?

Speaker 21 (56:29):
And the number one person buying food and wine right
now in the space is women, but it's black women.
So it's really tapping into that and celebrating it, and
I hope that will change the course of how people
are viewing food, how they're viewing restaurants, who they're putting
at the helm.

Speaker 2 (56:46):
All that stuff, all right, So everybody just make sure
y'all come out. How can people get tickets to go
to the New York City Wine and Food Festival because
they are invited to the cookout?

Speaker 15 (56:54):
Right, everybody listen to invited to the cookout?

Speaker 3 (56:56):
I love what people say, is this person invited to
the cookout?

Speaker 15 (57:00):
You can even invite that person.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
Is not invited, even except for if you make potato
salary raisins in it, you're not invited.

Speaker 15 (57:06):
You're definitely not in. But nobody's gonna let you in
through the door.

Speaker 3 (57:09):
But you can go to NYC, w f F dot
org and we'll all be there.

Speaker 2 (57:13):
And just so you know, it's going to be DJ
Cassidy Reverend run iced Tea DJ and make They're actually
gonna also have cocktails. That's important too, Yes, right, because
with great food you need some great drinks on that card.

Speaker 3 (57:25):
Yeah, and Baccardi owns patron, so you'll.

Speaker 15 (57:27):
Still be patron. Okay, they'll be I think douche.

Speaker 2 (57:30):
All right, We're into it, and that's all taking place Sunday,
October fifteenth, so let's make sure we do that and
also make sure you watch when I'm on Kleo TV
with hears Yes, Yes, eat with Chef JJ. Thank you
so much, thanks for having me. And when we come back,
we have asked ye eight hundred two nine fifty one
fifty is a number if you need advice, I'm here,
Toy is here.

Speaker 3 (57:50):
Regine is here and we are here to help you out.
It's way up.

Speaker 1 (57:53):
Everybody since with it's relationship with career advice, Angela's dropping facts,
should you should know?

Speaker 3 (57:59):
This is what's up. It's way up with Angela Gee.

Speaker 2 (58:02):
I'm Angela Gee, and my guest host Toya and REGINAE
are here to help y'all today for ask ye and
we have Melissa on the line of set.

Speaker 7 (58:10):
Melissa, Hi, Angela, how are you?

Speaker 3 (58:12):
I'm good, how are you? And Toya and Reginie are here,
so they're going to be help and give advice today.
He great, Okay, what's your question?

Speaker 16 (58:22):
So the other day my boyfriend left his computer on,
so I was like, and I was like, I was
snooping a little bit. But when I saw his email
pull up, I saw a receipt for only fans.

Speaker 10 (58:38):
I don't really know what to do about it.

Speaker 16 (58:40):
And I don't know if that kind of seating is
that like something I should bring up to him.

Speaker 6 (58:44):
And I don't even know how to bring up to
him because I'm like, I.

Speaker 2 (58:46):
Was snooping, snooping, and you don't want to be like
a look through your laptop and I've seen a receipt
that you were on, but you gotta say something.

Speaker 3 (58:53):
Okay, So let's start with you, Toya, because you're married.

Speaker 2 (58:57):
Now, if your husband was a purchase seeing memberships to
people's only fans and you found out, would you feel
like that was cheating?

Speaker 20 (59:06):
Uh?

Speaker 8 (59:07):
Yeah, I don't really know about the only fans thing,
but it ain't nothing that will break up with them,
for like, we wouldn't be going.

Speaker 12 (59:14):
I mentioned it, like, what's this? What's this about? You know,
everybody relationship is different.

Speaker 16 (59:19):
Okay, Yeah, but I did go a little bit deeper
and I saw that he had like specific requests from
these girls.

Speaker 3 (59:26):
Oh they're talking and oh na, see that's a whole
other level.

Speaker 8 (59:31):
That's a whole other level, like you comment and talking
and asking for certain pictures.

Speaker 12 (59:37):
Yeah, I will have a problem with that.

Speaker 3 (59:39):
If you just want to watch it, nah, like you
can watch watching pay for his next level.

Speaker 2 (59:46):
I feel like, well, Reginate, what about you, you know,
dating and a and a relationship. If you're with somebody
and you find out that he is paying for only
fans subscriptions and even requesting pictures of videos and corresponding
well before.

Speaker 9 (59:59):
You said the requesting, I was gonna say, well, like,
it's not that bad because it's like I feel like
nowadays Instagram is like OnlyFans like people Twitter and all
of that, but the requesting the pictures, I definitely feel
like you should have a conversation with him and just
you know, talk about it and tell him that it's
not cool.

Speaker 4 (01:00:16):
I don't think that is cheating per se.

Speaker 9 (01:00:18):
But him hitting it up, hitting them up and requesting,
that's just being god and disrespectful.

Speaker 3 (01:00:24):
And I think the thing is that it makes you
feel a way.

Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
Yeah, and if it doesn't make me feel good, you
should be able to communicate with your partner, and you
know what you should do before you even because sometimes
you ask a guy a question and he knows why
he knows.

Speaker 3 (01:00:36):
You know, you should be like, have you ever paid
for OnlyFans?

Speaker 18 (01:00:40):
Ye?

Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
See, if you're gonna be honest about it, and maybe
he'll be like, yeah, you know I have and be
like really, so like who.

Speaker 16 (01:00:52):
Because honestly, at first I was just screaming and throwing stuff,
but then I was like, you know what, let me
be breasted. Good way to bring this up there.

Speaker 6 (01:01:01):
Maybe it's the best wife.

Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
Yeah, that's a conversation for sure, And then maybe he'll
be like, well, yeah, it's harmless.

Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
You know, it's some Instagram girls I follow or whatever.

Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
But if it bothers you, you shouldn't always be open
and honest if something bothers you, because you know at
some point it's gonna boil over.

Speaker 11 (01:01:20):
Okay, great, all right, I'll be back to night.

Speaker 16 (01:01:22):
I'm ready.

Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
Okay, she's gonna throw something. Yes, all right, good luck,
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
If anything, you can set your own. OnlyFans and cat
fish see what he's really got going on.

Speaker 3 (01:01:35):
So you want to hear the really be asking them
to send certain things they going to.

Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
You could pay for like people to send you a
picture or a video. All right, Well that was ask
ye eight hundred two nine fifty one fifty. In case
you couldn't getrough, you can always leave a message and
we can answer you that way and when we come back,

Eight hundred two nine fifty one fifteen.

Speaker 11 (01:04:09):
Yeah, this is for the tell a secret. Probably wanted
to tell somebody this for a while. I'm a reform teeter.
I don't cheat no more. When I was with my ex,
I would tell I would go play basketball right that
I will slide into my sneaky link. So then going home,
I would have to get ahead and either drive with
the heat on so that I could come back sweaty,
or if not, I just park the car and I

(01:04:31):
take a lap and start running around the block two times,
just so I can get sweaty, like if I was
playing ball for hours.

Speaker 3 (01:04:36):
Angela's see, good morning. I want to sound the light.

Speaker 6 (01:04:41):
Not only do I want to sound the light oh
my wife, but I just want to send her so much.

Speaker 19 (01:04:46):
Love and I want the world to know that.

Speaker 14 (01:04:48):
Mesadies Williams, I love you with.

Speaker 19 (01:04:50):
All my heart.

Speaker 11 (01:04:50):
This whatever be Hey, what's up?

Speaker 17 (01:04:53):
Ye?

Speaker 19 (01:04:53):
Let's address these so called secrets. First of all, young lady,
don't want to go away with her friend. At least
be honest with your friend and tell her how you feel,
or you just got to suck it up and go.

Speaker 17 (01:05:06):
Because if your friend is that important to you, he'll
put the personal feelings aside that you have for the
other people. That's going for the guy who bust out
his mother windows. Come on, man, you gotta do better
than that. You have a mother who's trying to get
her kids together. So she told a little lie something
like that to get her kids together, because y'all acting foolish.
Of course, ain't nothing wrong with that.

Speaker 7 (01:05:28):
Hi, I want to sign a light on Nikki Brown
Clown in Portland, Oregon, for promoting literacy in her community.
She's recently been recognized by the Seattle Mariners, and everybody
needs to know she's teaching tips to read.
