You know what's great? We had Mashudat here today. She
does our makeup, but she also makes this amazing lotion. Yes,
lemon grass loation. Her her mom make it, and every
time people come in here, they're like, the room smells
so good, and a lot of it is because of
her lotion.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
And now she's selling it.
Speaker 4 (00:38):
I'm so glad she's selling it because I didn't want
to keep asking her to bring more in. So this
is convenient for me.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Matter of fact, I told her, I said, let us
know the link.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
Yes, sorry, on the next break, we'll tell you the
her website because it's on her Instagram. It's in her
bio on her Instagram.

is coming from because she han makes it. I actually
went to her warehouse where she makes the shade and
all of that, and she showed me.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
How it gets done.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
Can you take me there? I want to go.

He's our program director in Atlanta, but he also is
just definitely always goes above and beyond for this show,
even early on when way up at angela Ye was
just starting and listen, it's never easy just to be honest,
to start a new show like this that syndicated. You know,
there's some people that had to shift around with their
(03:40):
shifts when this show was going into different markets. I
never want to see anybody, you know, inconvenience in any way.
But he was one of the first people to step
up and be like this, I want this show here
and let's make it work and let's make it happen.
And he's been doing an amazing job in Atlanta on
promoting this show and making sure that the whole thing
sounds good. So it definitely goes appreciated uptown Angela and
(04:03):
New Orleans same thing. You know, I'll say that's how
I do appreciate the support that I get because everybody
who has supportive just to be ho, this.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Okay, Well, let's not. Let's not get us, let's not
get her in trouble, all right. Well, that's nice.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
I love that.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
See look the supportive girlfriend. Yeah, that's what we.
Speaker 9 (06:18):

Well shout out to Christine.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Yes, thank you, thank you. All right, Well that was
shine a light on him.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Eight hundred and two ninety two fifty one fifty And
when we come back, we have your yee tea and
we'll start it up with some very unfortunate news Gunplay.
He has been arrested and he is denying the claims.
We'll tell you what it was for and what his
wife is saying. It's way up with Angela.
Speaker 6 (06:55):
Ye, they says. The room from industry shades all Angela's
feeling that.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
What's at this way put Angela Ye, Angela yee. And
Jasmine from the Jasmine.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
Brand is here.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
Yes, what's up Angela?
Speaker 3 (07:10):
And this is what you do on the Jasmin brand
dot com.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
This is my favorite segment of yours fat et all right.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Gunplay got arrested over the weekend.
Speaker 9 (07:19):
Now.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
According to reports, he was arrested in Miami, and he
is accused of pointing a rifle at his wife while
she was also holding their six month old baby, and
this allegedly happened after his wife told him to quiet
down while playing the Xbox Now gunplay is denying everything.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
I didn't realize he was denying everything.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
His wife, though, Banche, went on Instagram yesterday to detail
the incident, and she said that he was scaring the
baby while playing Call of Duty. She also said that
he has an alcohol problem and that she does plan
to file for divorce to protect her and her daughter.
She said, I just want everyone to know my daughter
and I are safe. Unfortunately, Richard is back using and
developed a very bad drinking problem. I've tried everything in
(07:58):
my power to help him and love him. To summarize
last night's e then I asked Richard to quiet down
as he scared the baby sleeping by yelling playing Call
of Duty. He started going off on me for asking
him to be quiet. I tried to collect a bag
so my daughter and I can go to her room
while he sobers up. He didn't want us to leave,
and things went left fast and he was arrested last night.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Yikes.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
So she did say the weapon is in police custody,
and she asks for well wishes and prayers.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
Sidebar. You guys do get really hyped up and amped
up when they're playing these games. I would just like to.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Say that, but this is very serious. Yeah, definitely very serious.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
And she did say she didn't plan on speaking on it,
but now that it's out, she said, please keep us
in your prayers.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
Man. That's tough. Yeah, that's serious, all right.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
And another person who got arrested in Miami is Tommy Lee.
She was reportedly arrested on drug charges. She was at
Victory Lounge and a new photo is online that has
a text message from a source saying that she was
brought into jail and is facing multiple charges and that
includes cocaine possession with the intent to sell, and disorderly conduct,
breach of peace.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
All right.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
So there's been some clarity on this case though now
Tommy Leah saying what she had was epilepsy medication and
it was not cocaine during that arrest.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
I don't know what epilepsy medication looks like. Does it
look like coke?
Speaker 2 (09:12):
I have no idea, But she said this is according
to her reps, that the drags were in fact her
friend's epilepsy medication and they seized upon this as an
excuse for her arrest, when Noah, the valid reason was evident,
and they said they were she had been threatened by
an intoxicated individual at the restaurant that she had reportedly
(09:32):
left earlier in the evening. But there's no word on
what that bond is. It's a developing story, so we'll
keep you.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
Updated active weekend.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
And Ali Chappa was making some money and this was him.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
He was doing the whole viral TikTok trend.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
And that's when people are going live acting like NPC's
non playable characters. Others send other users send them gifts,
and then they have to respond as that NPC like
the NPC would in a video game. Now, Pinky Doll
originally was doing this. I remember when your person was
doing it. I was like, what the hell is she doing?
I was confused too.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
Now a lot of.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
People are doing it trying to get some money. They said,
she makes like seven thousand dollars a day. Wow, you
know you can't even get naked.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
No, you just stand there. And here's what it sounds
like when an Ali Chappa was doing it.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
Getting a hot of here going crazy money. Everybody keep
screaming it time, fur time for looking at it.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Thank about the heart.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
I love you, Thank you about the heart.
Speaker 8 (10:26):
I love you.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
Well, apparently he's making some money from it.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
I can't hate. It's funny because when I first saw it,
I had to, like, you know, me, do a deep
dive and this is going on here. You should do it.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
We should have a few drinks and do it together.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
I don't know how good we would be, not good
at all. He was acted like an elephant. I think
that part was funny. But he also, by the way,
just recently had his newborn chosen one.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
Okay, I like that name.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Chosen chosen one.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Chosen one one? All right, and Jasmine, you might have
been right in your bet with Mano. Apparently, Kiki Palmer's
boyfriend Darius Jackson is denying there were ports that he
has moved on. He said, I haven't spoken to anyone
about anything or gave permission to anyone to speak for me.
So all these sites posting about me making any type
of statement is false.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
So I was right and Mano was wrong.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
We don't know yet. Now, you and Mano how to bet.
We said that he was going to break up.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
They were going to stay together, and Meno said they
were going to break up or er Kiki Palmer with
the whole Usher situation. So then there were reports from
people that they did break up and he was preparing
to move on. But now he's saying he hasn't spoken
to anyone.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
Okay, so I think I was right.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
So we'll see. Okay, we gotta check back when Mano
gets back from the Bahamas. All right, well that is
your yut, and when we come back, we have about
last night. That's where we discussed things that we did,
what went down over the weekend or last night. It's
way up with Angela Yee. I'm the Angela Yee and
Jasmine from the Jasmine.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Brand is here.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Yes, I'm here, and it's time for about last night. Now,
we were not together over the weekend, but it looks
like we did some similar things we do.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
We're still kind of connected even when we're not together.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Angela, we actually both watched Painkiller. We did on Netflix.
I haven't seen the whole series yet. First of all,
I love uzz Duba. You know she's from Orange to
the New Black. Love her, but she also by the
way the Dubet staff been to her house. She was
talking about her house immigration reform. They actually had a
gathering there and she was just talking about it was
(12:13):
a conversation about people who are here undocumented and.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
How difficult it is.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
Gotcha.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
But she's also stirring in Painkiller.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
And it's a limited series, like you said, on Netflix,
it's six episodes, so it's all based on a two.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
Story, I know.
Speaker 4 (12:27):
That's what's really interesting about it.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
And it's about the opioid crisis, and so a person
overdosed on her new pharma's pain medication OCXI Cotten, and
it's kind of like the rise and fall of the
family and their role in promoting OCCA Cotten and all
of that. But what I wanted to ask you because
I was watching it and I watch how people get
addicted to painkillers, right, Like Little Zam was up here
(12:49):
the other day and he was talking about his addiction
that he had, And so here's the trailer for Painkiller,
just so you guys can get an idea of what
it's about.
Speaker 4 (13:00):
I am an investigator with the US Attorney's Office.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
You were prosecute company as big as Purdue Farmer.
Speaker 11 (13:06):
A whole of human behavior is essentially comprised of two things.
Run from pain, run toward pleasure.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
If we place.
Speaker 11 (13:15):
Ourselves right there between pain and pleasure, lean, we'll never
have to worry.
Speaker 8 (13:19):
About money again.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
All right.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
So yeah, So basically, the CEO of Purdue Pharma, he
was wanted to not be on account. He wanted to
be unaccountable for everything that happened, but make some money
because he was making a ton of money.
Speaker 3 (13:31):
Like when it first starts to see the house, Yeah, yeah,
I was like, this is crazy.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
The first thing I'm gonna do is look at that
house and be like, well, damn, yeah, you're making money.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
This house was amazing. All right.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
But I'm asking you this because I want to talk
to you about opiois. Have you ever had to take
any type of painkillers and what was that like for you,
because we hear so many stories about people who end
up Even when I had option on, he was talking
about having to take painkillers and then ended up getting.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
You know, and then being on lean and things like that,
And we know that's not easy for people to kick,
but it's also legal.
Speaker 9 (14:04):
It is.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
So I had a sea section and so that's a
major surgery and they gave me pain killers for it,
and I felt like I wasn't present, but I really
didn't have an option because I was in so much pain.
And I remember at one point going to see my
baby was a preemi, so I would go down to
the nick you and I remember holding her falling asleep
because it was because I was so high off of this,
(14:24):
you know, this drug that helped me wan my pain.
And I remember still being able still taking it because
I was still in pain. When I went back home
and I was talking to my therapist and she was saying,
are you nursing And I say yeah. She was like,
maybe you should try to get off of it because
you don't. Yeah, So that's what kind of you would
think that the hospital wouldn't, you know. But anyway, I
say all that to say, yes, I had to take
it for having a sea section. But I can understand
(14:44):
how it gets adicted because it really is kind of
like a high, but it really takes away your pain.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
And you know, because there's a crisis here that shows
you how bad it is.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
When I got all my wisdom teeth pulled at once,
all four of them, I actually ended up having to
take painkillers during that time.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
And I remember in the beginning I was like, this
feels really nice. Yeah, it feels good, but fortunate.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
As soon as I did not need them, like after
a couple of days, I just stopped taking them because
I was like, I knew people get addicted to it,
and I didn't want that to happen to me.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
And it feels good, it's very addictive, it's dangerous. All right, Well, guys,
you should check that out.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
This is not an ad for it. This is just
what we did over the weekend. Case every time I
went on Netflix, it was like the number one movie
it what's trending?
Speaker 4 (15:22):
Number one trending movie on Netflix.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
All right, well let's talk to you guys now. You
know we would love for you to call up. Now,
I will say the last tell us a secret. We
had our keen Woods here and y'all was wilding. Okay, see, okay.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
Very spicy. Again.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
The whole point is that we don't judge you. So
for people that get mad that we're not judging you,
that's the whole point of the segment. Yes, right, you
can't say anything that you want. We're not gonna judge you.
You are anonymous. This is a safe space for you
to tell us a secret. But make it spicy. Yes,
eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty is a number.
Call us up, tell us a secret again, that is
eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Its way yup with Angela.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Ye, this is a judgment free zone. Tell us a secret.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Yes, it is way up at Angela yee. I'm Angela yee.
And Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
What's up Angela?
Speaker 3 (16:10):
What's up? Girl? And it is time for it?
Speaker 2 (16:13):
Tell us a secret. This is where you guys get
to call in and share and we're not gonna judge you.
And we're really good at not judging people. Yes, some
of the people who sometimes guess us on the show,
I can't say the same.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
For them, and sometimes it's hard. Yeah, And we a
lot of your secrets.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
We talk about it afterwards, we do, and we talked
about it like, wow, can you believe that?
Speaker 3 (16:33):
But we all have secrets.
Speaker 9 (16:34):
We do.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
That's the main thing, all right, So we want you
to share with us. Eight hundred and two nine two
fifty one fifty Anonymous.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Caller, how are you?
Speaker 10 (16:42):
I'm good?
Speaker 1 (16:42):
How are you?
Speaker 3 (16:43):
Oh good? Thank you? It's me and Jasmine not here
to judge you. We do want to hear your secret.
Speaker 10 (16:47):
Yes, Oh, I am sleeping with two different people, one
of them seeing my employee and who's fifteen years younger
than me, and one of them being my best friend
who've known from something.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Oh wow, wait, yes, sleeping with best friend.
Speaker 10 (17:04):
Yeah, and I've known him since I was thirteen.
Speaker 9 (17:07):
Okay, but so yeah, and he wants a serious.
Speaker 10 (17:10):
Relationship as well as the person that that is my employee.
Speaker 12 (17:16):
And I don't know what to do in either situation
because both are wrong.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Oh so you don't want to be bad than one
of them.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
You think you'll still have your best friend even if
you don't have a relationship, do you know?
Speaker 10 (17:26):
That's like the worst part. I have no idea because
for a long time he's wanted something more with me,
and I really haven't pursued it. We are very different.
He's really oct I'm not. So it's a little bit. Yeah,
it's a weird situation, but yeah, no, I've got myself
and then the employee that I have, which is completely
(17:47):
something I'm not supposed to be doing in any way,
shape or form. Right, and he's twenty seven and I'm
forty two.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Oh wow, so.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
Fine, Yeah, Well, how's who has the better sex?
Speaker 9 (17:58):
Oh god, it's different for both.
Speaker 5 (18:00):
It's so good.
Speaker 13 (18:01):
That's why I can't stop.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
They're both.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
They're both really good.
Speaker 10 (18:04):
Both of them. Yeah, you know, have you see what
I'm saying?
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Have you always been attracted to your best friend?
Speaker 9 (18:11):
No?
Speaker 2 (18:12):
How did it happen the first time? Because you know
there's people trying to get out their friend zone.
Speaker 10 (18:17):
You know, we get along really well. It did not
happen until probably about four or five years ago. And
then it was kind of like, all right, well we're
just gonna say friends. Let's kind of cool off a
little bit. And then we kind of stopped talking. He
didn't want to talk to me for about a year.
He needed space or needed time. And then we started
talking again and I was like, all right, we'll just
(18:37):
be friends. Cool, but yeah, one thing led to another.
Now I'm really open, So I said, you know, we're
just going to be friends, right, But it's not looking
like that's going to be the case.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
All right, Well, thank you for sharing, and we wish
you luck good luck, you know, I know, but yes.
Speaker 10 (18:58):
I appreciate you listening. Say I listen to you guys
every day.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
All right, we appreciate you for calling in and being
honest and good luck.
Speaker 12 (19:06):
Thank you so much Toele, great guy.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
Hey an ontamus call it?
Speaker 12 (19:09):
How are you o good?
Speaker 9 (19:11):
How are you guys?
Speaker 3 (19:12):
Thank you good? So what is your secret you want
to share with me and Jasmine?
Speaker 9 (19:17):
My secret is I'm just to be marrying this guy,
my fiance, but I go. We always go for one
of my best friends healths and a certain guy is
always there and he every time he notices that this
guy is there every time, but he's never went nobody.
Secretly I date him.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Wait wait, wait, hold on, backup, Jess, you get this.
Huh huh so wait, you have a fiance, but what's
going on?
Speaker 9 (19:49):
I secretly date this guy that's always at my friend's
health because my god never ever wants to come with
me wow Glen's health because he had to secret also
that he's got a girlfriend that he said they're just friends.
(20:12):
This chick is always around in the same sense, she's
always around and she'll say. He'll say to me jokingly,
on such and such can by all such and such canbine.
But he keeps asking me to marry him, and I
keep keeping him on the hook. I said, you ain't
gonna be faithful. I'm not gonna marry you. But he's
(20:33):
went out and bought the ring. He didn't d the
nine yord. He said, I don't love you. I only
love you. But why do you keep this chick around
that you said they will? He took she keep care
of me when I was in another relationship or whatever.
I'm not going for that vis whatever.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Whatever?
Speaker 9 (20:50):
Are you going to get married if he asks? Or
I mean, because he's a good guy, really truly. I
mean people will say that, people say he's not and stuff,
but yeah, he really takes care of me. You know,
he does the stuff that I want. You know that
I want to do. He does stuff. He always goes
out the way to do stuff for me and stuff.
(21:13):
But on the other side, I'm like.
Speaker 10 (21:15):
Are you are you cheating?
Speaker 9 (21:17):
No, I'm not cheating. She's just my plan. So whatever,
you know what, what the dark's gonna come in my light?
My my darks is not already came in the light.
But he just don't know what my life is. But
I do know what he's dark is.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Oh gosh, all right, well, well thank you.
Speaker 14 (21:35):
For sharing with us.
Speaker 9 (21:38):
I'm gonna be it's gonna be.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
I don't know it.
Speaker 9 (21:40):
It's gonna be all right.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Got to entertaining life.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
How old are you? How old are you?
Speaker 9 (21:45):
I'm of at certain age?
Speaker 3 (21:47):
Okay, okay?
Speaker 4 (21:48):
Is that over fifty?
Speaker 9 (21:50):
I'm not not exactly over fifty. I'm like at fifty, Okay,
I might.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
I'm looking forward to that, all right, thank you?
Speaker 2 (22:04):
Okay, all right, Well that was tell us a secret.
And when we come back, we have yet and let's
talk about the super Bowl halftime show. You know they
said that Lizzo was under consideration until recently. What will
tell you who else is on that very short list
of who might be performing at the super Bowl halftime.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
It's way up with Angela yee ye te.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
Next this pot, let's get it. Angela's building at yee te,
Come and get your tea.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
What's up this?
Speaker 2 (22:31):
Way up with Angela yee. I'm Angela yee and my
girl Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
Happy Monday, Angela, Oh my gosh. Yes, assume we're gonna
have a four day work week. No, I don't know. Okay,
don't get me, don't threaten me with a good time.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
You would rather have Fridays off though, than Monday. I
really have mondays off, Okay, all right, Black Youngster, this
is tragic news. His brother was reportedly killed in a
shooting in Memphis. This was shooting at a gas station
and please report that. Uh it was a little after
nine thirty am on Friday.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
That's super sad, I know. And even his post he said,
I love you baby brother. Rest up.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
I'm gonna make the world pay. I swear to God
nobody's safe. Oh and okay, but you know what, I'm
sure that that's how a person would feel.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
Absolutely I'm at that time.
Speaker 11 (23:20):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Well, condolence is to him and his family.
Speaker 4 (23:24):
She sh this is terrible.
Speaker 9 (23:25):
I know.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
Shout out to Black Youngster.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
By the way, he's like one of my favorite interviews
we've ever had on lip Service at a certain time.
He was coming up there all the time to do
the podcast, so just a lot of fun. So I'm
really sorry that this happened to him, and again our condolences. Yeah,
all right, now, Drake. While one of his performances, one
of the fans in the audience kept holding up a
sign and Drake was like, look, I got to see
(23:50):
what's on this sign, because the person who's holding it
is not letting up.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
So here's what the sign said.
Speaker 8 (23:56):
This man got a sign that says, my girlfriend cheated
on me. She was supposed to be here. It would
be denied about it.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
What's your thrown friend's name, Scarlet, and she cheated on you.
On the count of three, we're.
Speaker 11 (24:08):
Gonna say sorry Scarlett, one, two, three, Sorry Scarlet.
Speaker 8 (24:15):
Can't be cheating on my dog like that.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
I need to hear scarlet side. Okay, Yeah, what happened?
Why did they why did they break up?
Speaker 2 (24:22):
And she well, he says she cheated, so I need
to hear her side, all right now. As far as Drake,
by the way, his for all the Dogs. The release
date is supposed to be this week according to Pop Things.
They said that's gonna be released on Friday. Okay, I'm
here for Then two days later is y day Angela. Yeah, yes,
not that those two are related in any way, but
I just thought I put that out there as you should,
(24:44):
all right now, Boozy, he had to curve a fans
photo request. You know how it is when you really
got to go to the bathroom. I know you know, Jasmine,
I definitely there have been times you've been on this
radio and you'll see told out the room got all right, Well,
here's what happened.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
I gotta do to right now. As soon as I do.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
You find me some tissue, bro, I find some teacher,
find me some tissue.
Speaker 15 (25:06):
I'm taking people to everybody.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
All right, Well that's it.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
When you gotta go, you gotta go, and you can't
hold it because the worst thing would be the shark.
Oh my god, can you imagine how you're signing in
an autograph? Oh shoot, I knew I should have went
all right, and Karrie Richardson shout out to her. She
actually secured the fastest one hundred meter time during the
World Athletics Championship over the weekend. This was in Budapest,
(25:30):
and this was her debut at the international competition. If
you guys recall she was on top and then people
were going hard going.
Speaker 11 (25:37):
In on her.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Well, here's what you have to say in an interview afterwards.
I'm not worried about the world anymore.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
I've seen the world be my friend.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
I've seen the world turn on me. But the end
of the day, I've always been with me. So being
on this scale now it's my time. And the people
that felt like me, the people that look like me
and the people that know their truth about themselves as well.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
I represent those people that's kind of like they're saying, right,
you're never is as good as they say you are
or as bad as they say you are. So she's
used to the ups and down to people loving you
and then somehow when they love you, they end up
hating you too.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
She's only twenty three and this is a good perspective
for her to have.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
So I like that, all right, So shout out to
Shakari Richardson for that and to keep going because for
some people this could really stop you and derail you.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
Yeah, because it was a lot she was facing like,
so yeah, I'm glad to see her still moving above.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
It and speaking of facing a lot. The super Bowl
halftime show.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Now, originally Lizzo, I guess was on the list of
people to be considered, but after everything that's been happening
with her dancers speaking out and these accusations, according to reports,
they dropped her off of that list. Now, what they're
saying is the short list for who's going to be
at the super Bowl halftime show is Miley Cyrus, Harry Styles,
Bad Bunny, and Jack Harlowe.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
Huh.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
Can I just say that out of those four? First
of all, I think Liza would have been a good fit.
But I understand there's something going on. Out of those four,
bad Bunny.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
I guess I said bad Bunny too. He's an amazing performer.
People love that bunny.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
The only thing is in the super Bowl halftimes that
were so conservative and he's not.
Speaker 4 (27:05):
He is not because and I feel like he could
bring out some good people too, because people love him.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
Has great collapse. But yeah, I get what you're saying.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
You know, we don't know, but I love that, you know,
I love a little edge. All right, Well that is
your yet and when we come back, we have under
the radar. These are the stories that are not necessarily
in the headlines. They are flying under the radar, but
we think you still need to know about him. It's
way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 6 (27:28):
The news news, This in the news that relates to you.
These stories are flying under the radar.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
What's up?
Speaker 2 (27:34):
Its way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee. And
Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here. Yes, I'm here, Angela,
isn't it Sometimes stomachs peak growling in this room?
Speaker 3 (27:42):
We don't know whose it is. It's usually fine, it's
usually minus.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
It's fine sometimes. And I don't even be hungry. I
don't know why it makes that noise like I.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
Just ate too. I just ate it like making all right,
crazy noises. Let's get into this under the radar.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
Donald Trump is going to be booked at Fulton County
Jail in Georgia.
Speaker 16 (27:59):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
And he's going to be booked along with eighteen other
people as well. By the way, eighteen others that are
charged in the election interference probe. They're expected to surrender
themselves this week. I'm hearing Friday is a day interesting.
Speaker 4 (28:14):
It's gonna be active, active down in Georgia.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
By the way, This Fulton County Jail is the jail
where somebody was found eaten alive Jean Thompson. I remember
that story, was found eating alive by insects and bedbugs
because the cell was so filthy. God, all right, And
there's been a lot of other things. I saw another
young woman died in that jail. According to reports, they're
saying that during a September twenty twenty two outbreak, they
(28:40):
found that one hundred percent of inmates in one unit
suffered from lyce scavies are both and among those affected,
ninety nine percent were significantly malnourished.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
Oh my god, that's terrible.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
So they said that Donald Trump, when he arrives at
the jail for processing, he's expected to spend no more
than a few hours inside the facility, but a lot
of defendants, in contrast to will spend weeks there awaiting
their release on bond or even their trial date. One man,
Christopher Smith, he was thirty four years old. He died
inside the jail earlier this month. He was waiting nearly
four years for his trial to start. Oh my gosh,
(29:11):
but you're not even guilty. You're waiting for your child
to start. And another inmate in a mental health unit
was found dead in October with his wrists and ankles tied.
Other people have died while incarcerated because they couldn't afford bill.
So this is the jail that all nineteen Donald Trump
and his eighteen defendants are gonna be going to and
they're gonna get out right away.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
So there's a lot of preferential treatment that goes on here.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
Of course, So not just Trump is gonna not stay long,
and they're the other eighteen.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Yep, we're going okay, yep, they're gonna all be processed
by this Friday, as long as they don't negotiate an
alternate surrender location.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
Feels like that's what they're gonna do.
Speaker 11 (29:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (29:44):
I will say this, it is heartbreaking to hear about
these other sad stories and situations that have happened in
this in this uh, this jail.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
And I say this every time I turn on the news.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Donald Trump, girl,
and I think it is important to note that he's
done a lot of things that are illegal and he
should be charged for them.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
But it's kind of a lot, you know what.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
I hope this does bring more attention to Fulton County
Jail exactly and the awful conditions.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
That's what I'm glad you're talking about it, in addition
to what you call the situation.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
So all right, now, a federal judge has ruled that
food and water, since we're talking about Georgia, can be
handed out to voters who are waiting in line at polls. Remember,
in twenty twenty one in Georgia, the legislature passed that
law that banned anybody from passing out food and what
if you're waiting in line to vote, And so I
don't even understand how was it ever issue Why I
(30:31):
can't hand out what are some of those lines? You're
waiting for hours?
Speaker 4 (30:35):
It discourages you from actually waiting in actually voting.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
And I remember with my coffee company, you know, during
when we were having a vote, you know, when I
was first launching my coffee company, we actually went out
and made.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
Sure people have coffee.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
Because voting, it's a privilege to be able to vote,
but it's also our right right that people for and
some people don't have that privilege of being able to vote.
But while you're waiting online because unfortunately in some places
in line.
Speaker 4 (31:00):
Yeah, and it's high or it's cold. It's just a
lot going on when you're waiting, and it does discourage
you if you can't you know, at least get water
while you're waiting. So I'm crazy, it's crazy that this
was even an issue.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
All right, And a ten year old was arrested. This
was in Mississippi. His name is Quantavius, and he was
arrested for urinating in public. But it was behind his
mom's car. His mom, Latanya Easen said all of that
could have been avoided. She thought the police officer was
too eager and made a mistake by arresting her son.
She actually reprimanded her son. She was only away from him.
(31:28):
He was with his sister for a few minutes, and
when she came back she found out that he had
urinated behind the car. He said, my sister said they
don't have a bathroom there, and that's why he did it,
and they ended up arresting him.
Speaker 8 (31:41):
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
Yes, and so now she said, her son is traumatized.
And the authorities did say they were sorry for what happened,
and they did admit that they were wrong for that.
But that's something that could change that child's life forever.
This is terrible, a ten year old for urinating behind
the car. Like kids can hold it.
Speaker 4 (31:56):
I can't. I can't take it.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
All right, Well, that is you're under the radar, and
when we come back, don't forget it is a Monday.
But we do want to get your week started off right.
So we got the way Up mix. At the top
of the hour plus, we are going to be talking
about invest Fest and we have earned your Alesia. The
founders Rashad and Troy are going to be joining us
to give you all of the lowdown. What's happening in
Atlanta at Investfest this weekend is way up at Angela Yee,
(32:19):
she's like the talk like.
Speaker 10 (32:20):
They Angela Jean, like they Angela Jee.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Man, She's spilling it all. This is yet way up.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
What's up? Its way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Ye.
And Jasmine from the Jasmine Brand is here.
Speaker 3 (32:33):
Hey, Angela, hey girl, and a.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Signed for yet Now the dealer who actually supplied the
Fetanoh lace heroine to Michael kay Williams. You know Michael
Kay Williams from Barwick Empire and from the Wire and
also a friend of mine. Yeah, that person has been
sentenced to ten years in federal prison. That is Urban Cartagena.
He's forty years old. He's from Puerto Rico. He pleaded
(32:55):
guilty in April to conspiring to distribute drugs. He was
sentenced by Manhattan Federal Judge Ronnie Abrams and so yes,
that's where it was. He did flee to Puerto Rico
and he was arrested in February last year. But they
did say that he continued to sell Faetanoh Lace heroin
in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Even after Michael Kay Williams died.
(33:16):
M all right, he also was sentenced to five years
of supervised release. So that's ten years in federal prison
and five years of supervised release.
Speaker 16 (33:25):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
I definitely still miss Michael Kay Williams to this day
like a very gentle kind soul.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
I would talk about how amazing you were with us
when we were in Mexico and we went he had
a dinner.
Speaker 3 (33:35):
Yeah, but we had a.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
Dinner at Kocomo with Michael Kay Williams during the pandemic.
It was just us and he was definitely very active
in the community. So sending much love and light out
to his family absolutely at this time. Also, yeah, all.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
Right, IRV Gotti. He is on Drink Tams. I feel
like he's back again because remember he was on there
with jar Rule.
Speaker 4 (33:54):
Before he was Yeah, last time that went lots lots
of those clips went viral.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
Yes, yes, they all right, And he talks about a
lot of things like selling half of his masters and
publishing for three hundred million dollars. A lot of people
are doing that, but he says he started that trend.
Is the first his new movie We Made It in
America that's supposed to come out in October. He also
talked about gonna taking a Please do a lot of
(34:19):
different things in this interview, but he did discuss Ashanti
reuniting with Nelly, and here's what he said.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
She's done with me.
Speaker 15 (34:27):
No one's sitting around thinking then you know you'll was like, oh,
but she still looks great. You ain't want to when
you've seen that last picture, tell him about a Shanti now.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
In addition to that, he also talked about his relationship
with fad Joe Happy belated birthday to Fat Joe, which
is permanently fractured.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
That is not his brother anymore.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
If you remember, Fat Joe came to Ashanti's defense and
here's what he had to say about fad Joe.
Speaker 8 (34:50):
Fadjo was my brother.
Speaker 15 (34:52):
I do not feel Fat Joe was my brother anymore,
because once you show me who you are or you
speak negatively about me, it's over.
Speaker 8 (35:03):
Joe said, oh god, he's the sucker.
Speaker 15 (35:05):
I gotta pull back and regress from that, because if
I was the goal respond anything with that, it could
get crazy.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
All right, Well, definitely, if anything, IRV knows how to
do is to be entertaining, speak his mind in a conversation,
all right. And fifty cent and this has nothing to
do with that. Fifty cent is reacting to not acquiring
b ET. He posted on social media. The headline was
Shaquille O'Neill and fifty cent feel to secure three billion
dollars worth buyout as fifty three year old legend makes
(35:37):
two billion dollar refusal. Now fifty cent, we will get
them next time. At shaq that is wasn't worth three
billion dollars, okay, all right, at least he tried listen
kind of what Roland Martin says.
Speaker 4 (35:48):
It's exactly what Roland Martin said. Okay, that would have
been dope, though, I feel like.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
Yeah, that's I mean, three billion dollars. That's a lot
of money. And we told you earlier.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
Paramount announced their decision into end bidding for be Et,
So it's not happening anymore, all right. And Chloe Bailey
has defended her sister Hallie as she always does.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
They defend each other. They definitely do definite sisterhood.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
There are rumors that Helly is pregnant by DDG, and
there was pictures up and people were saying that here's
what Chloe had to say about her sister.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
And y'all be to keep my sister's name out your mouth.
You're tryed to get me round though, hell up? All right?
Speaker 2 (36:24):
I mean listen, the two of them, definitely we know
them as Chloe and Helly and how they've both been
doing their thing, yes, as solo artists, but no matter what,
there's no falling out their sisters.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
They love each other and I could tell when they
link up it's a time.
Speaker 13 (36:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:40):
I love these two.
Speaker 4 (36:40):
They really support each other.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
That's what sisterhood's about. Baby all right now, I do
want to talk about that for a second.
Speaker 1 (36:46):
Though.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
This whole pregnancy thing, I don't know if she is
or isn't okay, but Chloe is definitely saying, keep my
sister's name in your mouth. Out your mouth, Jasmine. Yes,
when you popped out with a baby, people were surprised.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
I mean, I did pop out with a baby.
Speaker 3 (36:59):
Why to keep your pregnancy a secret?
Speaker 4 (37:01):
Because I kept my pregnancy a secret because I'm super
private and I'm guarded.
Speaker 3 (37:06):
And I just didn't want people in my business.
Speaker 4 (37:08):
So I just decided that I wasn't gonna tell anyone
and we're gonna discuss.
Speaker 2 (37:12):
That more when we come back. And also how much
it sucks when people think you're pregnant and you're not.
You know how many times I posted a picture I
remember at Powerhouse, I think it was last year where
I gave tempster what I had on, like a baggy sweatsuit. Yeah,
and people were like, Angela's pregnant. You're pregnant girl, Like
it is the most annoying thing. And then there's sometimes
I'm just a little bloated, or my posture is wrong,
(37:33):
or I'm just fat for a little while.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
All right, stop.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Putting pregnancy on us. But we're gonna talk about it
when we come back. It's way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
Yeahs back at it, Way up with Angela ye is on.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
Yes, it is way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
And Jasmine is here not just any brand on my
own brand, Yes you are.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
And we were just talking about Chloe defending her sister Hallie.
People were saying that Hallie is pregnant by DDG. They
saw a picture of her. She had like an oversized sweater.
But sometimes that's just comfortable, Yeah, And whether or not
she is, though. I think at this point, if you
don't know how rude it is to call out somebody
and speculate on them being pregnant if they have not
(38:20):
revealed that it's annoying.
Speaker 4 (38:21):
It is, especially when you're not.
Speaker 2 (38:23):
Yeh, it is, and even if you are, maybe you
don't want to even address it, address it, talk about
it like you Yes, when you were pregnant. Yes, when
I was pregnant, I didn't I think it. Yes, when
I was pregnant, I kept it top secret. Of course
my close friends knew. Angela knew, but I really didn't
want anybody to know because I'm so private and I'm
super guarded, and I just was like, let me you know.
(38:44):
Initially I was thinking like maybe towards the end, maybe
I'll we re build towards the end. But I had
the baby really early.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
Yeah, yeah, the baby early.
Speaker 4 (38:51):
I had the baby early. And also I didn't even
take maternity photos because I had the baby early. Angela
took my fake maternity photos. She Aly took a real
photo shoot for you.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
You should have but I use y'all know I do photography, okay,
but yes, because the only pictures you had were like
I took some.
Speaker 4 (39:06):
You took some really cute pictures of me, but they weren't.
They were just cute and they were in like photography. Yeah,
but I just I just wanted to keep it. And
also I wasn't in a relationship when I got pregnant.
It just was a weird situation.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
So people want to ask questions, and then I.
Speaker 4 (39:17):
Got to explain sound. I went to Angela ye day pregnant,
and I was all.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
The pictures and the pictures, but you're hiding behind people.
Speaker 11 (39:23):
I am.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
I'm hiding my baby here in order to know.
Speaker 2 (39:27):
The other thing I think is and you know, I
don't need names or anything, but I do know. Sometimes
it's hard to because just in case something happens, you know.
I know somebody who just recently, she just actually told
me yesterday she lost her baby.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
Yeah, and she was party foraying long.
Speaker 13 (39:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (39:43):
Yeah, So sometimes people want to keep things private in
that way.
Speaker 4 (39:47):
It take that's best.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
I think it's best because they always say you're.
Speaker 2 (39:50):
Supposed to wait too after the first trimester anyway, when
that's the time, because so many pregnancies do end a miscarriage,
and that's not an easy thing.
Speaker 4 (39:58):
And also some women are really trying, and you know,
you just want to kind of keep that kind of
that that space sacred. And you know, once it's time
to have a baby, I feel like you can go ahead.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
And you know, and then some of us just gave weight.
Speaker 4 (40:09):
I've definitely been and also like you know how you
have the wrong poles you stand outside, your shirt are.
Speaker 3 (40:14):
Kind of gap in the front, or you just had
like a lot to eat last night.
Speaker 4 (40:18):
Sometimes you know, I'll show you my stomach and I'll
be like, oh my gosh, angel look at.
Speaker 3 (40:21):
My stud I'm just ate and You'll be like, to
me too, my weight will go up.
Speaker 2 (40:23):
Like also if I'm about to get my periods, yes,
I my way will go up and I'll be bloated exactly.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
Anyway, this is just a plea for all of you
guys to please, yeah, stop doing that, all right.
Speaker 4 (40:35):
It's rough out here.
Speaker 2 (40:36):
It's rough out here, even like you know, sometimes we
just haven't had a chance to go to the gym.
Speaker 3 (40:41):
And when I say we, I mean me, and you
definitely mean me because I hardly to them.
Speaker 2 (40:45):
And listen, Angela, yide is coming up, and I want
to let y'all know when you guys come outside August
twenty seventh, and if you go, the tickets are free.
But with the Barcolay Center, the way they do it
is it's a ticket mastered thing, so you still have
to go on there and get tickets. See a lot
of people saying this sold out, You will be fine.
I think they're going to release some more.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
I don't know. There's like maybe it's bots or maybe
it's you know, a lot of y'all wanted to get through.
Speaker 4 (41:09):
So I don't have a ticket.
Speaker 2 (41:11):
Yeah, sorry, but other people can get in, Okay, gotcha.
But we are going to have some available. So what
I did was I made sure we preprinted a few
of them so people show up they might not have
an actual ticket because it is free to get in.
It's a family day at the Barclay Center, so make
sure you come through. We're actually also focusing with the
Social Justice Fun on Black maternal health. Oh good, So
(41:32):
there'll be some boots and tables there since we're talking
about pregnancies and all of that. Because you had an
early delivery, you had a rough time. Yeah, you had
a rough time, and baby Rain was actually in the hospital.
She was gonna nick you for like a month or
two yeah for yeah, and so that is just something
that we want to make sure we talk about black
maternal health care and how the system has for the
(41:52):
most part been failing black women. Just statistically. This is
not me just saying this this, These are real numbers fact.
So yeah, So there's gonna be haircuts, there's gonna be
a hair braiding, there's a book bag giveaway, a wellness area, massages.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
And everything is free.
Speaker 4 (42:11):
I love the way Angela No.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
We love that and entertainment. So you guys are gonna
love when you see who some of these performers are.
And I'm so excited for y'all to come on out
and party with us. I'll keep on announcing who's gonna
be there. But in the meantime this weekend, if you
are in Atlanta and not in New York and you're
not in Angela, ye day, there's some things you can
do out there too. Earn your leisure will actually be
in Atlanta. They have invest Fest and tonight at midnight
(42:34):
is the last chance you have to get tickets.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
But we'll be talking to them when we come back.
It's way up at Angela yee.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
You way up with Angela ye.
Speaker 3 (42:47):
Yes. It is way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela
Yee and Jasmine Brand is here.
Speaker 4 (42:52):
I'm here Angela.
Speaker 3 (42:53):
Have you ever been to invest Fest?
Speaker 9 (42:55):
I have not.
Speaker 3 (42:56):
Okay, I actually did invest Fest last year.
Speaker 4 (43:00):
How was it?
Speaker 2 (43:00):
It was a great experience. I was there with Pinky
and I was there with Milan from Milano and.
Speaker 4 (43:08):
Pinky from Sluggy Sluggy Beg.
Speaker 3 (43:10):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (43:10):
Cool, and so this year it looks like it's going
to be incredible. I can't go this year because I
got Angela y day, So I'm working on that.
Speaker 4 (43:17):
But is it is it an entire weekend or is
it this weekend?
Speaker 2 (43:20):
Yes, Friday is like a VIP reception and they have
event and they have a marketplace. So I think the
marketplace is a part of that that anybody can go to.
But I was looking at these tickets right, so they
have all different levels. But let me tell you, baby,
that VIP platinum package is sold out and it was
five thousand dollars.
Speaker 3 (43:39):
Oh my goodness. They're making us some money. You got mine.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
But they also do have really great people that actually
go to invest Fest and speak and then it's a
great VIP platinum you get to sit in like the
first three rows for all the stages, so I guess
that's a reserved section open bar.
Speaker 3 (43:56):
We love over bar.
Speaker 4 (43:57):
I feel like it's got to be a really great
networking opportunity too.
Speaker 2 (44:00):
Yes, I feel like I've met some really good people,
you know, just going to that. So shout out to
Rashada and Troy. They're actually about to be joining us
to talk more about invest fast. I've actually also done
their show, Assets over Reliabilities.
Speaker 3 (44:13):
Okay, I think I watch Sign Revolt.
Speaker 4 (44:15):
I'll watch that.
Speaker 2 (44:16):
Yes, we film the NLA and this year they've been
kind of moving it around and doing different things.
Speaker 3 (44:20):
But some of the people most recently I saw who
they interviewed.
Speaker 2 (44:23):
They interviewed two Chains, they interviewed Yogatti, you know, so
they have pretty good, interesting conversations. And I was telling
them and we'll talk about it when they come in here.
But when I spoke to them last and I did
Assets of Reliabilities, I was talking about things I was
about to do.
Speaker 3 (44:42):
They got it worked out right. You ever talk about
something and you're about to.
Speaker 4 (44:47):
Do it, and that's what makes you not want to
talk about it, because you're like, I didn't make sure
I need to sign this first.
Speaker 3 (44:51):
That's why, you know, we don't want to talk about
it until it happens.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
And then there's times I've seen people who I know,
whatever they said they were doing didn't work out, and
I've seen the real actually when someone's like, oh yeah,
whatever happened with the and they just be looking like
around it. Yeah, all right, Well, so many things to discuss,
but you know, I love talking about finances. Normally we
would have had them on a Wealth Wednesday, but I
want to make sure that we talk to them also
(45:16):
about invest Fast because it is this weekend, and the
tickets they're done at midnight tonight, So if you don't
get your tickets, I think that.
Speaker 3 (45:23):
Might be a wrap for you. Yeah, you gotta get
them down, all right.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
Rashod and Troy Next up on Way Up with Angela yee.
It's earned your leisure. Also, like we said, invest Fest
is this weekend. It's way up with Angela yee.
Speaker 1 (45:34):
I'm I'm bad you rap it Way up with Angela ye?
Speaker 3 (45:40):
What's up? It is way up with Angela yee.
Speaker 1 (45:42):
Man.
Speaker 2 (45:42):
This is really an honor because I have two celebrities
in the building. I got try and Rashad from Earn
your Lisia Assets of Reliabilities invest Fest.
Speaker 3 (45:54):
They're here with me today.
Speaker 2 (45:55):
Let's talk about it because this investmentst What I love
that you guys do is you get people that normally
may not do interviews, you know, and just looking at
this year's lineup, I mean, let's talk about it.
Speaker 3 (46:05):
The two people that are going to be headlining Diddy,
yeah and Robert Smith.
Speaker 2 (46:11):
So I want to discuss how you went about because
we talk about relationships and how important relationships are, but
just being able to build those relationships where you have
these guys. I mean, Robert Smith is the richest Black
American right period ever and he is headlining at invest
Fast and then Diddy is Diddy. You know, I know
you on Revolt and all that, but you know I
(46:32):
was on Revolt here, never headlined. So let's discuss how
you guys actually pulled this off and why you chose
these two.
Speaker 16 (46:40):
Diddy is somebody, you know, it's a no brainer. You
think about Mount Rushmore for business and hip hop, it's
a couple of people and Diddy's one of those people, right,
So he was always somebody that we wanted to connect with.
Speaker 8 (46:52):
And then you know, having that.
Speaker 16 (46:53):
Relationship with a Revolt Shah to Dion Sha to Detavio.
But really Dion, really Dion is like Diddy's right here, man.
He was strong advocate for us from the beginning. He
was always like very interested in what we had going
on as far as like financial literacy, business like. He
told us like it was something that he had never
seen before in thirty years of hip hop. So he
just kind of thought it was just an amazing feat
(47:15):
and he gave us his number. There was art Art
bozzle like, Yo, if y'all got any problems with Revolt,
if you need anything.
Speaker 8 (47:22):
Hit me and my car bad line. Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 16 (47:27):
One of the major keys in life is that, you know,
like Drake said, giving you my number, but don't hit
me on no dumb. That's actually a major key for
anybody that's interested in business and networking. Don't abuse your relationships.
So I never hit him until months down the line,
and I just thought that investments was a good idea.
Speaker 8 (47:44):
It all lined up.
Speaker 16 (47:45):
I sent him a text, and I sent him a
video of what it looked like last year, and then
he responded right away like I want to do it,
and then we just started connecting to dot.
Speaker 2 (47:53):
He go back to that advice about not hitting nobody
on no dumb right. I want to ask it because
sometimes people feel like when you get someone's number, you
should like every now and then I saw what you did,
just shouting you out, like not even that.
Speaker 16 (48:07):
I think, you know, a little acknowledgement like that is cool.
But I think when I say, don't abuse it, like
I'm not going to hit him, like for that, can
I get a booby trapped with you? Or like, yo,
can you send me some bottles for this for this event?
Speaker 3 (48:19):
Like that was on your mind too, Like you thought.
Speaker 16 (48:22):
We saw him then now we try to see him
all because we had an opportunity because when we met him,
they would go on to booby trap that night. So
what we did this is another gym, Like he invited
us to come with him, but we brought our own section,
but we made our We made sure our section was
right next to him, just to show him like we
get battles too. No, we're not here to leach off
off of anything, you know what I'm saying. So he
(48:44):
when he saw that, he kind of respected that as well.
Speaker 3 (48:46):
That's funny.
Speaker 2 (48:47):
I saw Diddy one time in Miami and we were
at we were at mister Chiles, and so he was
there too, and so the people I was like, yo,
let's send him a bottle. I was like, we're not
sending Diddy no bottle because I mean, I mean, yeah,
you think we should have.
Speaker 16 (49:04):
But I just think it's important just to let people
know that it's you know, it's important. I was always
told and not even just that, just in general, like
I was always told just to stand on your own too,
and there's so many people that try to lead you
off for or like get next to another person. So
my our whole thing from the beginning was like we
respect what everybody has going on, but we're independent and
(49:24):
we built our own platform and everything that we do,
like is.
Speaker 8 (49:27):
On the strength.
Speaker 3 (49:28):
So that I've been at with y'all.
Speaker 8 (49:30):
Yeah, that's what I say.
Speaker 14 (49:31):
Even when when you when this platform came about, right,
it wasn't like your ans, can we be up here?
It was like, super proud of everything you've done. So
it was like, when the time comes, I'm sure that
if we get invited up will come and it will
bless the stage.
Speaker 8 (49:43):
But it wasn't like your an's we need to be
on the show. We need to be on the show.
Speaker 3 (49:46):
Should come close for a day.
Speaker 8 (49:47):
You did off of that, but we never had a
follow up hit my people. We know the point of
contact now.
Speaker 16 (49:56):
Yeah, so yeah, so you know it was I think
that he just kind of appreciated that how we approach
the situation, right, we never ask them for anything. So
back to your question about text text etiquette, It's okay
to tell somebody that you're proud of them or great,
but I don't think that.
Speaker 8 (50:11):
You should just be hitting them up for just anything, right.
Speaker 2 (50:13):
I'm a fan of not My first text you is
not to ask for something, right, But I'm more like
I will definitely like reach out like, hey, just so
you did this, congrats and I really mean it too.
Speaker 16 (50:25):
This is the thing I never understood about the music industry,
Like people get disgruntled all the time and they're like
everybody's faking the music industry and nobody's your real friend.
I'm like, why would you expect people to be your friends?
Like we grow up together. I know this is a
mutually beneficial relationship for anybody. Like if they like they're like,
once you get cold, they're not going to answer. They're
not supposed to answer your phone call you cold.
Speaker 3 (50:43):
If you're useless. It's the same.
Speaker 16 (50:46):
Yeah, it's not personally, it's not a personally. Just got
to understand that, right, Like, I know that I didn't
grow up with you. They're not coming to my baby shower.
I'm not going to their kids.
Speaker 3 (50:55):
And I just want to back that up.
Speaker 2 (50:56):
A little bit, because you can meet friends though, and
I do think it's important sometimes because people feel like that.
But sometimes where you're at in your life later in
life and you meet more like minded people, those might
be the people you build a really.
Speaker 3 (51:08):
Strong bond with.
Speaker 2 (51:08):
Sometimes we have an allegiance to people who we grew
up with, but you do outgrow certain friendships where y'all
can still be cool.
Speaker 3 (51:15):
What you're on and what I'm on might be a
little different.
Speaker 2 (51:18):
And sometimes you know, because I've made friends later in life,
you said baby shower, Like my friend Melissa, she owns
the restaurant in the Grill and her baby shower is
coming up next week, and like.
Speaker 3 (51:27):
I'm really going, like, that's really my friend, but I
met her.
Speaker 14 (51:30):
That's that's something that's been developed, right, Like a lot
of times these people go into the relationship with that
as the expectation. Like as soon as I meet him,
like we gotta be cool, we gotta be cool, and
they try to force it, but you're talking about something
that's been developed over time, Like it's not like.
Speaker 8 (51:42):
Even for us, it's like you have an event, you're
just show a text. Oh we just gonna show support.
Speaker 3 (51:47):
In Chicago to the craziest party because we.
Speaker 8 (51:50):
Rock with you. You know what I'm saying. That's what
real support. So the more you do that, the more
relationships can be formed. And now it's an easy.
Speaker 3 (51:56):
Ass when it's like, hey, I can come to the
baby shower.
Speaker 8 (51:58):
You can come to the baby showing no problem. So
but yeah, I mean that said, I just look at it.
Speaker 16 (52:03):
And also it's like, you know, I just think it's
a more mature stance, like I don't I don't take
things personal.
Speaker 3 (52:09):
And Robert F. Smith, how did you get him involved?
Speaker 14 (52:11):
For a guy like Robert Smith, who's our other headliner,
a lot of rock community, you know who, he was right,
he's sort of valuing it because he watched the Steve
Harvey interview.
Speaker 8 (52:18):
Again, that goes back to relationships.
Speaker 14 (52:20):
If we don't know BDB doesn't introduce us to sh
and An Ssah, you know who's a friend of Robert
Smith doesn't do the interview. It's never it never gets seen.
So when Robert Smith meets with us, he's like, wait,
I love what you guys are doing. He's already studied
us before we ever sat down with him. We get
to show and highlight his career and now it's like, wait,
we should know who the wealthiest black man in American
history is. And so now he gets to come back
(52:41):
and give more information. And when you hear how he's
grown his wealth and what he's done in the world
of philanthropy, it's like, this is somebody we should be studying.
Like why are we not talking about this guy more?
Why are we covering him more than we are? And
so that's what that's what investments is about. It's given
a platform to the people from our community who are
excelling but are not getting that type of coverage that
they should because it's aspiring.
Speaker 3 (53:00):
All right, Well, Rashad and Troy are here. They're the
founders of Earn Your Alesia.
Speaker 2 (53:03):
And of course invest Fest is this weekend in Atlanta,
and by the way, tickets are available only until midnight tonight,
just letting y'all know it's way up at angela Ye.
Speaker 3 (53:11):
We have more with them when we come back.
Speaker 1 (53:16):
Yeahs you back at it, bringing the we up with.
Speaker 2 (53:20):
Angela ye is on what's up its way up at
Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee and we are talking to
Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings. They are the founders of
invest Fest and of course earn your leisure. The other
thing that you guys are doing that's great is there
is a free component to all of this, right, So
can you talk about that part of invest Fest too?
For people who are in the Atlanta area or want
to come, maybe you're like, man, I don't know if
(53:42):
I can afford tickets, but I still want to somehow participate.
Speaker 16 (53:45):
Yeah, for sure. So it's three day event is Friday, Saturday,
and Sunday. So Friday during the day from ten am
to six pm is a free day for the public.
And that's so it's registration for people that are going
to invest Fest. You come, you get your landyard. But
then outside of that, we have a vendorm marketplace roll
be four hundred vendors, so you'll be able to, you know,
walk the vendo marketplace, shop with the vendors, talk network
(54:08):
different things that nature and then also reform the organization
week bills involved with, Like they're doing an event all
day Friday, and that's free to the public as well.
So they're going to have different presenters. Ash Cash is
interviewing Jim Jones and it's a bunch and then we
got different DJ sets going on. So we wanted to
get people, you know, opportunity, especially for that reform because
that's something that's important to the public and talking about
(54:30):
criminal justice reform. So you know, we provided an opportunity
for anybody to come for free on Friday, and then
Friday night VIP Night, and then Saturday and Sundays just
the regular programmers.
Speaker 3 (54:39):
Networking is the word working.
Speaker 2 (54:41):
I always tell people that some of the best things
that have happened to me have been because I've been
places and met people and then and sometimes it doesn't
happen right away either. You know, you might think I
met somebody, wisen I hit them, they didn't hit me back.
You have to really be patient. I think even for
me getting studied in radio, that was a relationship that
I had to build and cultivate, you know, with Paul Rosenberg,
Eminem's manager. Throughout the course of years for him to
(55:04):
even say, oh, why don't you just try out on
the radio? You know, But that was again a relationship
that I had from being at different events, from even
when I was in college and meeting Paul Rosenberg. He
was supposed to be roomates with my brother at one point.
Speaker 16 (55:17):
My thing is like, if you're not in a position,
if you're not where you want to be in life, right,
you have to try different things. Yeah, or you're going
to be on the same recipe that show. You don't
got to go to investments, but through something put yourself.
Speaker 8 (55:28):
In proximity with people who are successful.
Speaker 1 (55:30):
You know.
Speaker 2 (55:31):
I always think that sometimes exposure. I remember being in
college and dating this guy there was a very low
level marijuana dealer, but he would come to visit me
in school and he was like, I wish I would
have been on a college campus before this, because that
might have made me want to go to college. And
sometimes it is like what you are exposed to and
(55:51):
what's available you know, resources, because but you don't know,
You just don't know. And so it is important to
get exposed to different things and to associate with different
people because when somebody puts an idea in your head,
sometimes that spark alone can make you feel motivated enough
to want better or.
Speaker 3 (56:07):
To do something.
Speaker 8 (56:08):
But if you don't, yeah, it's important.
Speaker 2 (56:10):
I'm talking to with sha Ba Laud and Troy Millings,
the founders of Earn Your Leisure, and you guys have
been making some big real estate moves for yourselves personally too.
Speaker 8 (56:18):
Right, we're doing some nice things.
Speaker 3 (56:21):
But you're don't like talking about your stuff. I mean
we could.
Speaker 8 (56:25):
I mean I'm built with building the homes.
Speaker 2 (56:26):
Yeah, that's amazing. Yeah, And there's a lot of education
that goes.
Speaker 3 (56:30):
Into that too.
Speaker 14 (56:31):
There is, there is, and it's important that you know.
It's our hometown and so it means a lot to
the community, but it means a lot to us. Like
you know, a lot of people will tell you like
you can never go back, but we never really left
where we're from. So it's important again for the kids
that are from there, even the adults to see, like, yo,
I watched two young men grow up to do something
really incredible and still give back and are still here
and it's still accessible to impact the community in a
(56:54):
positive way.
Speaker 3 (56:54):
All right, Well, listen, you guys invest fast. Is it
sold out? Can people still get tickets? Okay with they

Speaker 2 (57:22):
That's such a good time at investments and people come
up to me different places and will be like I
saw you at investmentst. Like when I go out and
even my Assets of a Liabilities interview a lot of people.
Speaker 8 (57:31):
Great one, that's a great one.
Speaker 2 (57:33):
I thank god everything worked out because I had plans
and I talked about him. There's nothing worse than when
you talk about something prematurely and then they're like, what
happened with that building?
Speaker 3 (57:41):
You said that, Yeah, no, it happened, guys, and you
said you was leaving breakfast Cow too.
Speaker 8 (57:45):
I did, yep, and that did happen too. Way wait,
way up.
Speaker 3 (57:50):
I don't know if I said that, I might have
hinted at it.
Speaker 8 (57:53):
It was a strong hint, a strong suggestion. But we
we we called what was what was happening?
Speaker 3 (57:59):
Well, here we are.
Speaker 2 (58:00):
I meant to thank God because it's nothing worse when
you're like, I'm about to do this and then y'all
see me and you're like, yeah, what happened to the
Oh he's still there?
Speaker 3 (58:07):
Nothing? All right?
Speaker 2 (58:08):
Well you guys again, love what y'all are doing, and
always like welcome to come up here to come co host.
Speaker 3 (58:13):
Maybe after invest fast we can do something.
Speaker 2 (58:16):
Well, y'all talk about, you know, some of the things
that happen afterwards, because I'm sure there's gonna be a
lot of clips circulating and so we can get more
in depth on those things. Let's do it, all right,
It's way up for Angela. Ye, Troy Rashat, thank y'all
so much.
Speaker 16 (58:27):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (58:27):

question that you have. Eight hundred two ninety two fifty
one fifty is a number Jasmine brand and I are

Speaker 2 (58:45):
Its way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee and
Jasmine Brand is here.
Speaker 1 (58:49):
Hey.
Speaker 3 (58:50):
You ready to help?
Speaker 4 (58:51):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (58:51):
All right, because there are people who are calling that
need our help. Hello, you want to written it? I
need you want to remain anonymous?
Speaker 3 (59:01):
Right?
Speaker 1 (59:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (59:03):
Okay, So I go on ahead and let us know
what your question is for asking you.
Speaker 12 (59:08):
Okay, my question is I was I have a girlfriend
that was living with me and they she works from home,
but she seemed to get I had a guy, a boyfriend.
I guess she's coming in out of my household. I
needed too because my neighbor told me that was someone's
coming over there. So I put a cam in the
dead room and I found out that she was keeping
with the guy in my bill.
Speaker 1 (59:27):
While I was at work.
Speaker 3 (59:28):
Oh, oh my goodness.
Speaker 12 (59:30):
So my thing is this, Do I show her the
video or do you think I just just let her
go and you know, not say nothing about it because
she's in denied. She says, she's everybody anybody into my house.
Speaker 2 (59:42):
So I do have tooth Oh so yeah, I proof
as you lie. First of all, that is crazy that
she is still in the house. I don't know what
that is so disrespectful old.
Speaker 3 (59:53):
Yeah, she's very.
Speaker 12 (59:55):
Bold, but you know he's been together two years. I
own my own house and she doesn't own my house,
and like that day sided have to get a viction.
Noticed that I didn't have to put this comment out here.
You know, I got so many women do these things.
And basically I looked at she would even pay no bills.
Howse I paid all the bills in the house, and
it's just really strange to me.
Speaker 3 (01:00:13):
I'm not gonna lie, as much as I want to be, like, well,
you know it's a violation to it.
Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
No, I will actually probably have next time I asked
her and she lies, I would have a queued up yeah, and.
Speaker 3 (01:00:23):
Mirror to the television. Yes, yes, I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
I would mirror to the TV and have a queued
up and be like, so you're saying you've never had
a guy in the house. I'm giving you one last opportunity.
Speaker 4 (01:00:35):
To tell the truth.
Speaker 3 (01:00:35):
To tell the truth so that I don't have to
actually show you what I've seen, and.
Speaker 2 (01:00:40):
If she's still denying it, then be like playing and
press play and let her see what you saw.
Speaker 3 (01:00:45):
And that is I think I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:00:47):
I would have to do it like you're not gonna
have somebody in my house, in my bed and then
sitting here in my face and lie to me. First
of all, the fact that she has somebody in your
bed that's insane is right, exactly.
Speaker 12 (01:00:58):
Exactly, We've got a argum the bad out of Tay.
She denied everything. So I decided to go buy one
those start cameras and put it in the bed. I said,
you know what, just gonna tell the treatment. They quantify
what my neighbor said. Yeah, she ever know it all.
Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
You should have everything packed up and ready to go
for her too. I would be like, let's pack up
everything in the house.
Speaker 4 (01:01:16):
And maybe have someone else there, just to make sure
it doesn't get crazy, you know, Shout out to the neighbors.
Shout out to the neighbor for a filling the tea.
Speaker 12 (01:01:24):
Yeah, he I caross the street. He came always said,
look I got something to talk to about, and I
laughing on my mind, but you know, I had a suspicion,
but I needed to pull but he went to killing part.
Where was you know, I had cameras around house. She
always turned out the front camera in the front of
the house.
Speaker 3 (01:01:38):
Of course she did.
Speaker 12 (01:01:39):
She were to do these things, so she had no
camera on anything. So I would complaining to the camp
someone here, you might have to get it sick. But
what she was doing was I'm plugging it.
Speaker 3 (01:01:48):
Oh no, she is found and so you are too nice. Yeah,
sorry you had to go through this.
Speaker 12 (01:01:52):
Yeah, I know I work hard every day and I
make good money. But sometimes you kind of find the
right person to do. It's kind of old though.
Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
All here is well, yeah she's got to go, so
she gotta go, so something and like, yeah, I feel
like something amazing is going to happen for you next.
Speaker 3 (01:02:06):
Sometimes things like this happen to clear the path. But
what's right?
Speaker 12 (01:02:09):
Yep, yeah, that's true, that's true, And actually I'm not
she waited for on opinion. How would you feel that
if I came here and said to you that you
don't have to pay the light and gas and put
some gus.
Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
Love that and I feel idea in the house, I
would love that.
Speaker 9 (01:02:25):
I have a hard time.
Speaker 12 (01:02:26):
You know, I never heard it. I never thought of
my mind. And women have falling with that, and I'll
make over six figures a year. Well, you know, she's.
Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
Wilding she's she's why.
Speaker 1 (01:02:40):
She ain't no good.
Speaker 3 (01:02:41):
She gotta go. You gotta go, ladies, she's gotta go.

so we can post the link.
Speaker 4 (01:02:49):

Media paper for then he wanted the camera run inside
the house, put one in and win in the strength
to you guys it, I really want to familiated.
Speaker 3 (01:02:58):
That, all right, and don't let that discoverage you.
