We don't need no man for nothing. It's okay if
you single, girl, be single for a little bit. Don't

We're gonna be single until we find the right one
for us.
Speaker 6 (05:42):

good relationship co parenting. Sometimes things just don't work, but
they do have two beautiful children together. And you were right,
there's nothing wrong with being single. I think sometimes people
feel ashamed embarrassed. But she's like, that's her bestie.

in his audience with a Chanel bag. Now, this woman
is actually a waxer. I know, Jess an esthetician is
(07:13):
getting waxed today.
Speaker 8 (07:14):

lot to get the tickets to the concert.

That's a lot of here's poky. She says she had
a wax give it a chamail bag tonight.

Waxing is expensive.
Speaker 16 (07:35):
Listen, shout out to my girl Micase she had she's
an esthetician. She has her own uh skim beauty lounge
bar in DC, and she's my waxer. But she puts

but it doesn't feel good.
Speaker 8 (07:54):
It doesn't feel good.
Speaker 6 (07:54):
Yeah, I have no idea that women.
Speaker 8 (07:57):

come to every single show, they've spent a.
Speaker 6 (08:53):
Lot of money.
Speaker 9 (08:54):
Yeah she deserves.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
Now those two things, which would you rather have? The
Chanel bag or the v VI I P and the
ten Grand?
Speaker 16 (09:01):
I think I'm the v v I P and the
and the ten grand because then I could get my
own Chanel bag and you know, get something small.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
Chanel Yesterday, Chanelle is expensive, I say it gets way
more expense.
Speaker 8 (09:11):

Speaker 3 (09:28):
But you know what's crazy. I got my nails done
yesterday and my manicurist caused me Chanel. She doesn't know
my name.
Speaker 8 (09:33):
She just that's why I was just because she always
has a Chanel bag when she goes in.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
But I will say this, I've been buying Chanel bags
for like twenty five years before they were than Well,
they've always been a thing.
Speaker 8 (09:48):
Well in our community, they haven't always been a thing.
Speaker 16 (09:51):
Always been Yeah, okay they have Okay, how far back
you think since it starts really slavery?
Speaker 6 (10:00):

on Broadway for that.
Speaker 6 (10:18):

after two seasons. Yes, so ahead of the show second
season finale, they did acknowledge that this is the end
of the series. One final matchup. Hashtag winning Time is
what they tweeted. So for everybody that watches that. That's
basically the story about the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of
(10:55):
the eighties. It's based on the book Showtime Magic Riley
and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the eighties.
Speaker 8 (11:02):
Those were some wild times, some.
Speaker 6 (11:04):
Wild times, what a time to be alive.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
And speaking of television, Byron Allen has been ten billion
dollars for ABC and other networks. That deal would include
FX and national geographic cable channels as well, and so
that's what he's trying to do.
Speaker 8 (11:19):
Ten billion.
Speaker 6 (11:20):
Yes, they were.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Saying that he was in a bidding war for majority
ownership in BT and that included VH one and BT,
but that didn't pan out.
Speaker 8 (11:28):
He really is a boss.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Yeah, all right, well that is your yet And when
we come back, we have about last night.
Speaker 6 (11:33):
That's what we all get to talk about.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
What we did last night, what we were not invited to,
and what we're doing tonight. Maybe all right, it's the
way up to Angela, d about last night's next last night?
Speaker 1 (11:43):

up here. But it's time for about last night. Now,
I know Mana was recovering.
Speaker 9 (12:09):
I was recovering. But I did get to go to
a rehearsal. So you know about the show that we
putting together, the show that's loosely based off of my life,
and yeah, it went well. Shout out to the team,
you know, dre Bett and we're casting Okay, we're casting
for a couple of roles and that went very well.
Down went home to recover.
Speaker 6 (12:27):
Who's going to play me?
Speaker 9 (12:29):
You're playing you? You are playing you. You got to
make sure I get a partner.
Speaker 7 (12:34):
BB Well, we're the only person that we're getting to play.
Speaker 9 (12:37):
Somebody was getting somebody to play Jasmine.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Now, Jasmine, you were traveling. You came to New York
last night, but you were in Detroit.
Speaker 16 (12:45):
I was in Detroit. I had an amazing time. I
always have an amazing time Detroit. I went to a
gun range for the first time. I've never shot a
gun before. Sound it's like love, Yes, I was sounds
like love.
Speaker 8 (12:55):
Sounds like I was on.
Speaker 9 (12:56):
A day loving a bullet.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
You know, they always say that women are better when
they go to the shooting range, the gun range, because
we follow instructions better.
Speaker 8 (13:04):
He said, I shot. I did really well.
Speaker 5 (13:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
What they say, and this is what I heard when
I've gone before, is that women will do what you
tell them as far as like aiming the gun and
how did you and men think they know what they're
doing already kind of like asking for directions?
Speaker 8 (13:17):
Yeah, I did. It was fun. It was a little
loud though. It was louder than I got phones on.
Speaker 16 (13:21):
I have my headphones to have my glasses on. I
was following instructions. He was trying to record me. I
was like, no, they said, no recording.
Speaker 6 (13:25):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (13:26):
I love Detroit though.
Speaker 7 (13:27):
How was the kick nice?
Speaker 8 (13:28):
It was a little aggressive. Kick was att aggressive from.
Speaker 6 (13:31):
Are you going to get a license now?
Speaker 5 (13:33):
No?
Speaker 6 (13:33):
I'm not all right?
Speaker 8 (13:35):
Can I get up Detroit? The license in Detroit?
Speaker 5 (13:37):
Now?
Speaker 6 (13:38):
It's easier.
Speaker 8 (13:38):
I don't stand Detroit all right?
Speaker 6 (13:40):
That DJ Nerd? What about you? What did you do
last night?
Speaker 7 (13:42):
I did nothing, man, I just kind of prepared myself
to be here.
Speaker 6 (13:45):
Good hours to get here.
Speaker 7 (13:48):
Bro, what time did you get up this morning, I
got up like seven.
Speaker 6 (13:52):
Okay, what time do you normally get up about the
same time? All right, not bad. Well, yesterday I was
in Brooklyn.
Speaker 8 (13:59):
What did you do?
Speaker 6 (13:59):
I was at the Barclays.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Now, I was on the committee for this prize that
just Brooklyn Prize, and this is all put together by
the Social Justice Fund and the Brooklyn Community Foundation. But
basically Clara Boussi, who's co owner of the nets, the
Barclays and New York Liberty, they give away these grants
for Brooklyn based businesses. So they gave away five twenty
(14:21):
thousand dollars grants, so that's one hundred thousand dollars altogether.
So I was on the committee that selected who was
going to get those grants, and so what.
Speaker 9 (14:29):
Made always on a committee committees?
Speaker 8 (14:32):
She gets honored, She gets ed honored.
Speaker 7 (14:34):
Like what is I was about?
Speaker 9 (14:36):
The access was she she got in the Barkleys because
everything then you're part of everything, and that she has she.
Speaker 8 (14:42):
Has her own seat court side, has her name on it.
Speaker 6 (14:45):
Yeah, I would say this. I love going to the Barclays.
Speaker 3 (14:48):
I love that we have that in Brooklyn, right, and
I think that people that work there are amazing first
of all, because a lot of them are from the community.
Every time I go there, every body treats me so well.
I feel like it's at home. You know, it's a
nice feeling. It doesn't feel like, oh, you can't call,
you can't do. Everybody's real chill, nice, cool. You know
(15:09):
you walk in there like you're.
Speaker 7 (15:10):
You walking there. You be like, yo, I ain't worried
about no risk bands. Let me borrow your boxer. You're
not going there, And I'm like, you know, I ain't
worry about no risk band. That's not you.
Speaker 8 (15:19):
They know you never worry about.
Speaker 6 (15:20):
A risk band.
Speaker 7 (15:21):
Why would I need to worry about a risban?
Speaker 6 (15:22):
But I do? Yeah, never mind, continue continue shout out to.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
All of the winners that got these grants because these
grants also come with no strings attached.
Speaker 6 (15:32):
Whatever you need to do.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
And we all know being a business owner, when you
hear like some of these businesses what they do. See
Zawadie Morris, I gave her her grant and she is
the owner of Brooklyn Reader.
Speaker 6 (15:43):
It's a digital news site.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
For the past ten years, they put out every single
day different news stories and it's definitely it's the first
ever black women owned independent daily news site.
Speaker 6 (15:53):
First black woman owned.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
What's the name of it, It's called BK Reader And
I was actually cating in there when I opened my
coffee shop, so that was exciting for me.
Speaker 6 (16:00):
But you know, there were a lot of great people.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
So shout out to all of you that got your
grants yesterday. One of them helps people who are about
to lose their homes. Oh yes, and they help people
keep their homes, and you know, because that's important work.
It's a lot of predatory things going on in real estate. Okay,
all right, Well that was about last night. And when
we come back, I want to discuss something and this
was something that wade heavy on me. I was thinking
about this yesterday. I asked Mana what he thought when
(16:23):
he showed up a couple of hours late, and it
was based on what are you supposed to report on?
You know what we do up here. Sometimes things happen
that are really messy. Like we've been watching a lot
of different stories unfold. We've been watching back and forth
people arguing and it's like, do you want to promote
that and hip hop? Sometimes it feels really negative, But
(16:45):
do you feel like we should report what's happening or
should we ignore it? And I want to hear what
the listeners have to say about that and what you prefer.
We want you to pick aside. Eight hundred two nine
two fifty one fifty is a number. Should we ignore
these messy stories that could lead to somebody getting hurt?
Or should we report on them because it is out
there and people put it out there for you to
(17:07):
report on and not, you know, be biased. What do
you guys want to hear? Pick aside eight hundred twe
I want to hear what you guys think too.
Speaker 6 (17:15):
It's way up.
Speaker 11 (17:16):
It's not just right or wrong. It's about what you believe.
It's time to pick a side and stay there.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
Yes, it's way up with Angela Ye Angela yee, Jasmine
Brand is here, Yes, Maino is here, No, DJ Nori
is here.
Speaker 7 (17:32):
I need to give one of them.
Speaker 6 (17:33):
I already know.
Speaker 9 (17:34):
No, no, you can't have a job of my dog
and all that. But I run the job. So yeah,
let me tell you this is it. I'm you ain't know,
like I mean, I've been replaced many times up here, real.
Speaker 6 (17:49):
You know, no time.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
So anyway, we're doing pick aside, and we're talking about
sometimes stories can be really messy and you don't know
there are big stories there on the blogs.
Speaker 6 (18:00):
Should we report on them? Now? Nori, let's get your
take on it.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
You're a radio personality, you've been up here over a
decade on the air.
Speaker 6 (18:06):
What's your take on that?
Speaker 18 (18:08):
I think you should be able to talk about it.
But just how far you go with it? Okay, don't
go too far. People know, yeah, what's going on? Okay,
you heard about this, blah blah blah. But you don't
have to give full in detail.
Speaker 7 (18:20):
All the time.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
Okay, all right, there's some you can say they've been
going back and forth, but you don't have to say
what was said.
Speaker 7 (18:27):
Yeah, like you know, the little beef going on.
Speaker 9 (18:29):
You heard about it, but you know, let's let's hope
it ends off well and they get over it, and
you know what I'm saying, be bigger people about it.
And it's Reporting on it on the radio is actually
different than taking the actual posts and posting it on
your page.
Speaker 7 (18:41):
It's different.
Speaker 6 (18:42):
Okay.
Speaker 9 (18:43):
So when different platforms take the actual posts and posting
on their pages, it makes it because if the original
post is coming from somebody that may not be as popular.
But then you taking it. Putting it on your.
Speaker 6 (19:06):
Are saying that no one else sees like you. See
what they said.
Speaker 9 (19:10):
Imagine putting it on your page name right now, Jazzmine, you.
Speaker 6 (19:13):
Have a website that's very popular, the Jasmine brand. What
do you think?
Speaker 16 (19:16):
Yes, it is our job to report it. It is
not my job to be the moral police. I think
that it is our job to report on what's going on.
We don't have to insert our opinion. We can be
objective and neutral to CNN say let's not report this
because we don't want to add fuel to know if
they report it, and it's up to the reader or
the viewer to do with that information what they would like.
Speaker 6 (19:35):
Our children off limits?
Speaker 8 (19:36):
I think children should be off limits.
Speaker 6 (19:38):
Okay, so there is a limit.
Speaker 9 (19:40):
Yeah, okay, Yeah, Well, if y'all report somebody disrespecting me,
it's gonna be a problem.
Speaker 7 (19:44):
It's up.
Speaker 8 (19:50):
You should have seem to look like this.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
It's up on the radio talking about the argument. But
let's see what you guys.
Speaker 6 (20:00):
I think fifty pick aside, Jocelyn, how are you?
Speaker 12 (20:05):
I'm good?
Speaker 6 (20:05):
How are you I'm good? What do you think? On
pick a side?
Speaker 3 (20:09):
Should we report on these stories or should we ignore them,
these messy stories.
Speaker 14 (20:13):
I think it's a little bit of both.
Speaker 12 (20:14):
I think there's certain stories that are so big it
doesn't require you necessarily to report, but some stories you
might need to when forced to fighting. Things like that.
I don't think we should even waste our time because
he's redundant.
Speaker 6 (20:29):
All right, well, thank you, no problem, Hey, Sabrina, how
are you?
Speaker 14 (20:34):
I'm good? Holl ye, oh my god.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
Hi.
Speaker 6 (20:36):
We are doing pick a side now.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
When it comes to us as people on the radio,
as personalities reporting on stories that you know people are
going fighting, perhaps threatening each other, should we report on
those stories or should we ignore them?
Speaker 6 (20:50):
Do you think we're being messy? If we feed into.
Speaker 14 (20:53):
It, definitely be a messy.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
But some t is good.
Speaker 14 (20:57):
If something is not, like I gave the example of
Nikki and CARTI like that shouldn't be reported on.
Speaker 6 (21:05):
Okay, so we should ignore that.
Speaker 10 (21:06):
We kind of did, Sabrina.
Speaker 7 (21:11):
I felt like you got some tea.
Speaker 9 (21:13):
Tell us tell us something, tell us something we should
report on.
Speaker 7 (21:16):
Sabrina, give us a secret.
Speaker 6 (21:19):
This is not tell us a secret.
Speaker 8 (21:24):
What kind of what kind of story should we report on?
Speaker 12 (21:27):
Okay?
Speaker 14 (21:27):
Let me give an example. T I Son report on
how he made the the homeless guy.
Speaker 6 (21:37):
Okay on that.
Speaker 14 (21:39):
Yeah, we could report on that and be like, yo,
you do better, do better like I stay on them.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
Yeah, got okay, gave her nickname and everything. Let me
tell you something that report better believe?
Speaker 6 (21:53):
All right, Thank you, Sabrina.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
Bye bye?
Speaker 6 (21:58):
What's that? Baby toy? Hi?
Speaker 19 (22:02):
Good morning?
Speaker 3 (22:03):
Good morning now, baby toy, we are talking about pick aside.
When it comes to these stories that we report on.
Should we ignore the ones.
Speaker 6 (22:11):
That could potentially lead to violence, the arguments, the back
and forth, or should we report on them? Still come
up from.
Speaker 17 (22:17):
Where I come from? Honestly, certainly something needs to be
reported now, not a messy person like I said, I
know you don't violence, none of that, but certain stuff
do need to be reported for certain information. People do
need to know the sucker ish that's going on out here.
And I believe what it is, what it is, damn
if you deal with damn it, you don't you feel me?
Speaker 5 (22:39):
All right?
Speaker 6 (22:39):
Thank you, baby toy?
Speaker 16 (22:43):
Why ya?
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (22:45):
All right?
Speaker 3 (22:45):
We are doing pick aside and we're all tied up,
so you're going to be the tipe breaker when it
comes to these messy news stories that could potentially lead
to something dangerous.
Speaker 6 (22:55):
Should we report on them or should we not? You
should not?
Speaker 20 (22:58):
I think it's true.
Speaker 21 (22:59):
In the five I just think with the NICKI Minajena offset,
that's really dangerous and it didn't really dangerous. And I
just think that the blog to just pay it no mind, right,
and I guarantee you it was it will it will
go away.
Speaker 9 (23:14):
I mean, do you think that we should be up
here telling each other's business? Like should I say something
about what I know that Jasmine brand has going on
on the radio?
Speaker 19 (23:25):
What?
Speaker 8 (23:26):
No, thank you?
Speaker 21 (23:28):
Jasmine asked you.
Speaker 14 (23:30):
I don't ask you till now.
Speaker 8 (23:31):
Thank you? Yes came from.
Speaker 6 (23:39):
But we can't.
Speaker 5 (23:40):
We can't tell yes.
Speaker 8 (23:42):
We love to thank you more entertaining.
Speaker 6 (23:46):
All right, well, thank you guys for that pick side.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
It looks like the tiebreaker was to not report on
these messy, potentially dangerous stories.
Speaker 6 (23:54):
Okay, we'll see what happens and when we come back,
we have yet big fight. No, I'm kidding.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
And imagine having fifty cent as your intern will tell
you about a story where he entered and he was
an amazing employee.
Speaker 6 (24:09):
It's way up at Angela yee.
Speaker 11 (24:10):
They say in the rooms from industry shade to all
the gossip.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Angela's feeling that.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
It's way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee, and
Jasmine is here.
Speaker 5 (24:22):
Good morning brand on my own brand.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
Mano is here right and everybody up here get to
drop and we have a special guest host today.
Speaker 6 (24:31):
DJ Norri were.
Speaker 9 (24:34):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I appreciate that.
Speaker 7 (24:39):
You appreciate thanks.
Speaker 8 (24:43):
I know we don't need you to know. We don't
need that.
Speaker 6 (24:47):
Mano is kind of like the black chant.
Speaker 9 (24:49):
Hanks, what is it?
Speaker 7 (24:52):
What is it?
Speaker 9 (24:54):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (24:56):
Sherry Shepherd has revealed that every anything is gonna be
bigger for season two of her talk show, except she
has gotten her breast reduction.
Speaker 6 (25:05):
Finally. I saw her on a flight and she told me.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
She was like, guess what, I'm getting ready to go
get my reduction while I'm on break from my show
before I return.
Speaker 6 (25:13):
So she was really excited about it.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
And here's what she said during the premiere episode of
her season two yesterday.
Speaker 22 (25:19):
It's pretty much been my entire career. I get so
many comments about my body, and a lot of y'all
kept saying, Cherry, you too top heavy, and I would
get comments like if you just got a boob job,
everything would be balanced.
Speaker 8 (25:34):
So guess what.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
Now, Listen, I will say, people who and I can't
relate to this at all.
Speaker 5 (25:43):
Me neither.
Speaker 6 (25:43):
But people who have big breast have back issues?
Speaker 16 (25:47):
Are y'all laughing? Guys, are y'all laughing? We don't have
big breast?
Speaker 7 (25:50):
Are y'all?
Speaker 8 (25:51):
Brush? You're brush shaming.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
Due?
Speaker 7 (25:57):
All right? What you got?
Speaker 16 (25:59):
I have a I'm struggling for a bee, struggling at
any rate, though, I'm struggling.
Speaker 6 (26:05):
For Harry Shepherd did say, and I agree with her,
that insurance should cover this because it does cause physic
coal issues. Here's what she said.
Speaker 22 (26:13):
I paid for myself because my insurance company would not
pay for anything. This was not a vanity thing. I
really needed to have this done because of the pain.
But insurance companies are still not covering this for women,
and the fact that they won't cover a procedure for
a woman when.
Speaker 6 (26:29):
It is necessary is a shape.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
Imagine you don't have the money to do that much,
and you have to walk around because you don't have.
Speaker 6 (26:36):
The walking around like that, even like from what I've heard,
getting those huge bra sometimes they're custom and they can't
just get them anywhere, and they're expensive.
Speaker 16 (26:46):
I can't imagine having something so heavy, you know, like
pull them on your back.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
But she is back, you know, after the strike and everything,
because you saw we talked about this. Jennifer Hudson was
going to return. She and Drew Barrymore was supposed to return,
and she has since backpedaled on that.
Speaker 6 (27:04):
So here's what she had to say.
Speaker 22 (27:06):
Talk shows in general fall under a different union contract code,
so we are allowed to come back unless you are
a WGA show. Now, the Sherry Show is not a
WGA show. We have never employed WGA riders, so us
coming back to work is not crossing the picket line.
My heart is breaking for all of the people that
(27:27):
cannot work right now, and I hope that our industry
can get this strike resolved soon.
Speaker 6 (27:32):
All right.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
I actually saw Cus one who DJs, and he was
telling me, he's like, yeah, back to work, and he says,
she doesn't have to, you know, she doesn't have the
union writers.
Speaker 16 (27:41):
Okay, I'm glad she explained, you know, her side of
it and why they are coming back.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
All right, now, fifty cent, let's talk about him. Imagine
fifty cent was your intern at one point. I've never
even heard about fifty cent having like a regular intern
type of job.
Speaker 6 (27:56):
But here is proof that it did happen.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
This was a TikTok clip that we actually saw, and
here is Jesse talking about how fifty months intern for him.
Speaker 7 (28:08):
I have this kid.
Speaker 6 (28:09):
Who's a boxer who wants to be a rapper.
Speaker 7 (28:11):
He wants to get some business experience.
Speaker 15 (28:13):
So we made a deal that he would intern for
me for whatever experience I could give him and exchange
in exchange, he'd helped me write these jingles that I
was doing at the time. Fast forward ten years later,
we go on our own way and fifty becomes this
amazing international star and I've applied with jet company.
Speaker 7 (28:30):
He wrote into all of his contracts that he would
only fly with Marquis Jet.
Speaker 6 (28:35):
That is a lesson on loyalty.
Speaker 8 (28:38):
Oh that's beautiful.
Speaker 7 (28:40):
Yeah, that's a dope story.
Speaker 6 (28:41):
So Jesse it'zer is one of the co owners of
the Hawks, the Atlanta Hawks.
Speaker 8 (28:45):
Now, I can't imagine fifty hours intern.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
Fifty said, this is one hundred percent too. Jesse is
my guy. I think he owns the Atlanta Hawks. Now
I got to catch up with him. Got to all right,
well that is your ut when we come back is
under the radar. These are the stories that are not
necessary early and the headlines. They're flying under the radar.
It looks like we might be going back to threads. Guys,
remember when that was a thing, and will tell you why.
It's way up at Angela Yee news.
Speaker 11 (29:09):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
It's way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee. Jasmine
brand is here, I'm my own brand. Maino is here.
Speaker 6 (29:21):
No, man, DJ, you wanted to drop Yeah, I appreciate it.
Speaker 7 (29:32):
I got it quick too, Thank you. I appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
All right, let's get into these under the radar stories
for all of us on Twitter.
Speaker 6 (29:38):
Do you guys all use Twitter up here?
Speaker 8 (29:40):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (29:40):
Yes, yes, Well, Elon Musk is saying now that he's
gonna charge all Twitter users or I guess it's called
x now a fee to be on the platform. So
it's not just X blue to get that verified check
mark status. That's eight dollars a month. Now they're saying
that everyone is gonna have to pay.
Speaker 9 (30:00):
I really think he wants people off of it. I'm
just going to see I'm just going to just start
doing ridiculous stuff and just see how far I can
go and everybody's gonna be off.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
Well, he wants to make money, Yeah, Well, he said
it's the only way he can think of to combat
vast armies of bots. So he said that there's five
hundred and fifty million monthly active users and there's between
one hundred to two hundred million posts daily on that network.
And so I'm guessing he's thinking charging a small fee
(30:28):
would make him some money because the value has gone
down tremendously.
Speaker 8 (30:31):
He's saying it was starting at eight dollars a month.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
Well, that's what it is for Twitter Blue. Oh, he
just said a small monthly payment. He didn't indicate what
that price would be, gotcha. Okay, all right, the IRS
is overhauling how they scrutinize the tax returns of lower
income Americans. Did you know that black people are they're
saying historically more likely to be selected for audits, all right,
(30:56):
And when I say more likely, it's like three to
five times more likely.
Speaker 6 (31:00):
That's insane, yeah, than anybody else.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
And research touchdown that audit rates are because of the
audits are focused on the tax credits, and so that's
when you get a tax credit, a lot of times,
you are more likely to get audited. So now they're
supposed to be overhauling that system. They've pled to use
the eighty billion dollars that got through the Inflation Reduction
Act of twenty twenty two twenty twenty two to target
(31:22):
wealthy taxpayers and make the tax system more equitable. So
getting audited has to be one of the scariest thing.
Speaker 8 (31:28):
Yes, that's terrifying.
Speaker 7 (31:30):
Yeah, terrifying.
Speaker 9 (31:31):
Okay, maybe I don't know. I'm saying, what's going on
with Jazzy?
Speaker 7 (31:35):
What happened?
Speaker 9 (31:36):
A couple of looks that I'm getting You guys.
Speaker 6 (31:38):
What are y'all keep arguing with each other earlier?
Speaker 7 (31:41):
Then?
Speaker 3 (31:42):
Okay, I think you've had worse things happen to you.
I think you've been called on by worse people. I'll
say that for sure. I think more than Christ for sure.
Speaker 6 (31:53):
All Right.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
Now, a Dallas public defender is facing federal charges. They're
alleging that she struck up a relationship ship with one
of her former clients and also gave him sensitive information
about his brother's case.
Speaker 6 (32:06):
All right.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
Her name is Reagan Sierra Moreno. She's accused of providing
Todd Whitfield, who was an inmate at the Dallas County
Jail with sensitive case information. He used that information allegedly
to threaten one of his brother's alleged victims, according to
court documents. She was booked into the County jail late
last week on a charge of abuse of official capacity,
but she has since bonded out.
Speaker 6 (32:26):
This is like an episode of power.
Speaker 7 (32:28):
Right, she was working on she got it.
Speaker 9 (32:31):
I mean, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do
to work on that defense.
Speaker 6 (32:34):
Right.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
So I don't know if she's going to hire another
attorney or speak on her own behalf. But apparently she
fell in love with him, began a relationship.
Speaker 6 (32:43):
His misdemeanor burglary case was dismissed.
Speaker 3 (32:45):
She was no longer representing him at the time that
she allegedly provided him these documents.
Speaker 6 (32:50):
But you know you can't do that my license.
Speaker 16 (32:54):
I gotta see what he looks like, though, depending on
what he looks like, I've had one.
Speaker 8 (33:01):
I don't like you guys, so it wouldn't happen to
me much.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
His name is Todd Whitfield. Okay, I'm gonna looking at
Wallas all right.
Speaker 6 (33:07):
Well, that is you're under the radar. Now you know,
we got the Way Up mixed coming at the top
of the hour. Plus we have Friday.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
Joining us today and this is his second time. Earlier
we were discussing who's been on Way Up at Angela
ye twice. Country Wayne has also been on two times.
And by the way, his special is out today right
now on Netflix.
Speaker 6 (33:27):
So he was up there. He was up here talking
about that a woman's prayer, and so we got to
make sure we get something to reintroduce Country Wayne and
make sure everybody knows his special is out today. But
Friday is going to be joining us today. It's way
up at Angela. Yee Angela like the Angela.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
She's spilling it all. This is yet way off.
Speaker 6 (33:48):
It's way up at the Angela.
Speaker 7 (33:50):
Yee.
Speaker 6 (33:50):
I'm Angela yee. Jasmine brand is here?
Speaker 5 (33:52):
Any brand on my own brand?
Speaker 6 (33:54):
Okay? Mano, Mano's here, right, DJ.
Speaker 9 (33:59):
Norri I got a lot.
Speaker 8 (34:05):
The whole island.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
That is all right, Well, let's get into some yeasy.
I feel like everybody's been calling me giving me scoops today.
Speaker 8 (34:13):
Yeah, you got some some juicy stuff earlier.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
All right, Well, let's talk about Megan the Stallion. She
is on the cover of Billboard, and she's talking about
a lot of different things. She talked about, uh, you know,
giving back. She's given back to her Texas Southern alma mater.
She has this whole scholarship foundation through her Flaming Hot
University partnership. Okay, and so she is actually going to
(34:38):
be featuring a one of a kind online curriculum incented
on food, fashion, and lifestyle, and students also get the
entire catalog of Flaming Hot snacks and a special limited
edition package also exclusive merch that's designed by Melody Assigani,
and she approves that herself and then proceeds from that
merch line also go toward a scholarship for students at
Texas Southern University.
Speaker 8 (34:59):
She got me, she got you have food. Yeah, free food,
free food, food, fashion, her lifestyle.
Speaker 3 (35:04):
She got me food now aspires her favorite Flaming Hot
to Now.
Speaker 6 (35:07):
She said it's a good fried pickle. So she loves
hot Cheeto fried pickles.
Speaker 9 (35:11):
Hot Cheeto fried pickles.
Speaker 6 (35:14):
Yes, with.
Speaker 8 (35:17):
My stomach would be going crazy.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
You know, I love something hot that's hard to even
deal with, like my mouth to be on fire with ranch.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (35:28):
Well, in addition, to that.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
She also spoke to Entertainment tonight, and here's what she
had to say about that moment at the VMA's where
people said that she was going in on Justin Timberlake.
Speaker 15 (35:37):
So in the proper media you were really crying laughing
because it was like, in what world is making it?
Stallion beefed out on Justin Timberlake. But I'll talk of
my hands on my nails for so long, so I
know this right here looks crazy.
Speaker 20 (35:47):
I have my in ears in and I couldn't hear him.
Speaker 15 (35:50):
Then Justin Timberake walks while he's like it's nice to me,
was like, no, no.
Speaker 8 (35:53):
First of all, I can't hear you. So no, this
is not how I'm gonna make it back. Take you back.
This is not how I'm gonna mean. Justin Timberlake back.
Speaker 6 (35:59):
Here, and Jason's back here looking cute. Right, y'all need
to black? What do you get out stage?
Speaker 7 (36:06):
And then I'm gonna be ready for y'all.
Speaker 8 (36:08):
Re'll hat her ish. Yeah, that's funny.
Speaker 6 (36:11):
Because you know how sometimes from the outside it could
look like.
Speaker 8 (36:14):
It looks, it looks a whole different.
Speaker 7 (36:17):
Yeah, I was like, wow, she.
Speaker 16 (36:18):
Was moving her neck and stuff and had them nails
out listen. But you know we just sometimes like me
man animated.
Speaker 3 (36:25):
Yeah, if I said somebody talking to Mano or Noy
like that, I'd be like, get him, girl, he must
have did simple.
Speaker 8 (36:30):
He guilty.
Speaker 6 (36:32):
Now. In addition to.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
That, she talked about the current headspace that she's in
because she's been through a lot.
Speaker 15 (36:36):
Yeah, I feel like I'm in such a fresh space,
Like everything about me is new, my attitude, my vibe.
I feel like I'm starting a new chapter in my life.
Speaker 6 (36:45):
It was inspiring that new chapter.
Speaker 5 (36:47):
What do you think?
Speaker 15 (36:48):
I think I've just gone through so much and I'm
so at a point where i don't care about a
lot of stuff. I'm just so comfortable with myself. I'm like,
okay at this point, girl, what's the worst thing that
could happen? Yeah, I'm into taking risks right now.
Speaker 5 (37:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (37:00):
I don't have any apps.
Speaker 6 (37:01):
On my phone.
Speaker 15 (37:02):
I don't have any social media on my phone, so
I have no idea what's happened to have time, Like
the whole JT thing, I didn't even know that it
had happened.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
She has no apps for now, But I will say
I can pay her on that though, because you've been going.
She went through a lot of things, and so sometimes
you got to just be like, I can't get unfocused.
I feed her on that, because you get tempted to
respond to stuff you don't want to have to do that.
Speaker 16 (37:26):
I would love to take all the apps off my phone.
I have a job.
Speaker 6 (37:31):
She got too much going on.
Speaker 8 (37:32):
I'm definitely never taking off the food apps.
Speaker 3 (37:33):
Now, gossip and this Billboard interview though, she also talked
about working with Carti specifically and what makes you a
good collaborator and a friend, and she said that basically,
Carti gives her all the creative freedom that she needs.
She said, she just sends it a song and she says,
whatever you want to do, and she's like, all right,
I'm gonna put two verses here, all right. And she
said Carti doesn't give her the direct any direction, she says,
(37:56):
lets her do her. And she also said that friendship wise,
cartis so genuine and Cardi always says that she's shy. Yeah,
Cardi shy or Cardi, Yeah, Cartie's very shy. So she
said people start off shy and then they get like,
oh yeah, it's the real youth. So she said, I
feel like I definitely get to see the real her.
She's so nice and she's really a kind person.
Speaker 8 (38:15):
I like that friendship.
Speaker 5 (38:16):
Yeah yeah, hey friend, hey friends.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
All right now, Tamar Braxton was on Desination with our
guy Headcrack and she was weighing in on what actually
she believes happened with Geezi and Jeanie May in their breakup.
Speaker 6 (38:30):
And here's what she had to say.
Speaker 23 (38:32):
I think she really really was in love and I
feel terrible. The little baby girl is so cute. But
let me tell you something. When y'all found for divorce
is over the two reasons why a man leaves his
wife or file for divorce. Number one is another woman
pushing him to do it. On number two is something
real foul when that.
Speaker 16 (38:52):
You know what's interesting about her talking about this is
her and Jeanie were on the on the reel together cool,
so maybe.
Speaker 6 (38:57):
I don't know if they are now.
Speaker 16 (38:59):
Yeah, So it's interesting that she would even give this
opinion when when they were.
Speaker 6 (39:05):
Yeah, well that's what Tamar, Yeah, I had to say. Tamar.
By the way, also, her car was burglarized.
Speaker 3 (39:10):
I saw that post yesterday and she did say that
she doesn't feel safe anywhere her car was parked in
a secure garage, so she said it was scary. She said,
I got robbed at home. I'm not safe anywhere. I
don't know why I keep getting violated. I had a
lot in my car because I don't live anywhere, because
I'm not safe anywhere or with anyone.
Speaker 16 (39:25):
She's in Atlanta, right, so she don't live anywhere, yeah,
or with anyone. She was in Atlanta when her car
got broken in. I think she was in Atlanta. Yeah,
they ain't. No punk whant to come to breaking a car.
Speaker 6 (39:36):
Gets Let me tell you when I come back.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
When I am going home from the or to a
hotel from the airport in Atlanta, I am not leaving
nothing in the car. If you picked me from the airport,
I need to go drop my stuff off first.
Speaker 7 (39:45):
Listen.
Speaker 16 (39:46):
I had a rental one time in Atlanta and it
got broken into me not playing. They stole my laptop.
Speaker 6 (39:49):
Ye all right, Well that is your yeete. And when
we come back.
Speaker 3 (39:53):
DJ Nori is here joining us today, and we got
to learn more about you because you do have a
new song out and we are trying to make sure
we get to cheer.
Speaker 6 (40:02):
It's the way up for Angela DJ.

Angela Yee. We got our bottle girl. Shout a light
on him.
Speaker 8 (40:17):
What's the name of my bottle girl?
Speaker 7 (40:18):
Did you long? Would you disrespect my guy?
Speaker 6 (40:22):
It's way up.
Speaker 3 (40:22):
Jasmine Brand is here, yes, man, I was here, but
most of them right now. DJ Norri is now listen.
DJ Norri is for real, like one of the best DJs.
And every year he DJ's at Angela ye Day and
hosts because he could do both.
Speaker 6 (40:43):
So some people just.
Speaker 3 (40:44):
DJ, but he'll get on that mike. He'll hype the
party up. He keeps things together and he knows everybody.
Speaker 18 (40:50):
You got to understand when you're working with you. After
a while, she said, okay, I'm done.
Speaker 8 (40:54):
That's all you really know there getting everything together.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
And not only that, he has music out. So first
of all, let's talk about you for a second. You know,
just your whole journey, like you've been doing this for
You've been up here at iHeart for how long.
Speaker 10 (41:10):
Now over a decade, you've been up here twenty.
Speaker 7 (41:17):
You've been here with me, you know, slavery.
Speaker 6 (41:21):
I'm saying that about every day all right.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
Now.
Speaker 3 (41:24):
DJ Nori, also, by the way, does music and he
has a First of all, like I said, he knows everybody.
So when we do Angela Yide, I know that he's
going to bring some special guests who are going to
pop up and slide through. Previously, you had a great
song out with Conscience too that I loved. Yeah, and
now you have a song out you know, I pay
(41:46):
attention she die before you came in.
Speaker 6 (41:50):
First of all, you know I love dance hall?
Speaker 8 (41:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (41:52):
Yeah? Does we love dance hall?
Speaker 9 (41:55):
And so wh where are you from?
Speaker 7 (42:00):
I'm from Brooklyn?
Speaker 6 (42:01):
Okay, You're from Brooklyn? And your families from where?
Speaker 7 (42:03):
Panama?
Speaker 6 (42:04):
Okay? Panama? And you're also an entrepreneur yes.
Speaker 7 (42:07):
Of course.
Speaker 18 (42:07):
Every think got a few things going, like what, I
have a wingstop, a wing shop that we opened up
in Brooklyn.
Speaker 6 (42:16):
Wow, we know about it?
Speaker 7 (42:18):
You don't you know?
Speaker 8 (42:19):
You know I don't know about it.
Speaker 7 (42:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (42:21):
I love wings.
Speaker 5 (42:22):
I love wings.
Speaker 6 (42:22):
Yeah, we got serious serious.
Speaker 4 (42:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (42:25):
What's the name of it?
Speaker 7 (42:26):
Wow? Atomic wings?
Speaker 1 (42:27):
Man?
Speaker 5 (42:29):
I know that.
Speaker 8 (42:30):
Okay, we got to know everybody got cool. I don't
know if y'all knew the name of it.
Speaker 7 (42:36):
We knew, but we wanted to.
Speaker 8 (42:40):
I didn't do any exact I'm sorry.
Speaker 6 (42:42):
So you have the tragic wings as entrepreneurs. As I
think about the other things, DJ nor all things DJ Norri.
Speaker 18 (42:47):
Well, you know I do my shows, my Caribbean shows.
I do a lot of parties, of course, you know,
I got a brand call Anything Goes Live. I keep
a lot of big events. Even May Mainland forgot about that.
Speaker 8 (43:01):
What are you going to have me on?
Speaker 9 (43:03):
Definitely you want it now you're studio now, I know
that you're with the culture. Were still she's still on
the probation period, like.
Speaker 3 (43:14):
I would say this though with DJ Norri, right, he
has a new song out right now.
Speaker 6 (43:18):
We want to make sure we talk about this too.
Speaker 3 (43:20):
And this is why we are actually about to do
a chairs to you, Norri.
Speaker 8 (43:25):
You know we never drink up here, so we definitely
have to do.
Speaker 6 (43:27):
This, you know, especial.
Speaker 4 (43:30):
To you.
Speaker 6 (43:30):
This is also, by the way, the name of the song.
Speaker 7 (43:35):
Featuring me.
Speaker 6 (43:37):
Hear a little bit of this and we could do
our chairs.
Speaker 1 (43:40):
Tell me I'm telling you.
Speaker 8 (43:48):
To give me all right, that's full song.
Speaker 6 (43:57):
Let me tell you something. Let me some Paul to
So you have you hung out with s Paul and Jamaica.
Speaker 8 (44:03):
Yes, I know that's right.
Speaker 5 (44:05):

Speaker 6 (44:07):
Cheers to you, Cheers to you, so Nori. Cheers, cheers, cheers, cheers.
You got to drink them. You gotta ring the bell
by the way, a.
Speaker 5 (44:16):
Bottle girl.
Speaker 9 (44:18):

Speaker 7 (44:20):
Would you do that?
Speaker 9 (44:21):
All right?
Speaker 6 (44:22):
Make sure you there we go, so y'all, make so
y'all stream that though. Cheers to you. That is d
J Norri feature.
Speaker 7 (44:34):

back and check out his whole catalog.
Speaker 7 (44:39):
That's right, every platform, every every platform.
Speaker 3 (44:42):
Just getting ready to know that it is going to
be packed and wings afterwards. Appreciate you all right, Well,
Friday is going to be joining us shortly.
Speaker 6 (44:53):
It's way you put Angela.
Speaker 7 (44:54):
You get to.
Speaker 1 (44:57):
Ye bring bring in the up with Angela Yee is on.
Speaker 3 (45:02):
Yes, it's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Jasmine is here, yes, and replacing Mano. DJ Norri is here.
Speaker 7 (45:12):
I replace him.
Speaker 16 (45:12):
No, yes, we are great, great replacement. I think Man's
in the bathroom going number two.
Speaker 3 (45:17):
Okay, I got him some wipes. I got to make
sure for them to him perfect, you know, But I
also want to make sure that we talk about the
fact that my guy Country Wayne has this Netflix special
that is out today, a Woman's Prayer.
Speaker 6 (45:31):
And he was actually on way Up with Angela.
Speaker 3 (45:33):
Ye, he's been on here twice already too, because I
wanted him to come back to talk about his special
that's out today. And here's what he had to say
about why he called it a woman's prayer.
Speaker 24 (45:41):
I talk about women a lot on there, and that
woman's prayer. I just I realized it was a women
prayer that that kept me up. I figured out that
in life, Okay. So I was like, man, a woman's prayer?
Speaker 7 (45:52):
Have you up and down?
Speaker 24 (45:53):
And it's a part of it on the special what
you've probably seen while it was like a lot of
me and judge women harder than they judge us, right,
So I was like, man, no, I realized that when
I switched my life on how I looked at women,
you know, because we do it worse than what they
do most of the time sometimes.
Speaker 7 (46:09):
But I was like, no, a woman's prayer.
Speaker 8 (46:11):
That's going to be the name accountability.
Speaker 6 (46:14):
I love that accountability.
Speaker 3 (46:15):
And then he also talks about his deal with Netflix,
because you know, Country, he's been doing a lot of
stuff independently on his own, making money directly off of
social media.
Speaker 6 (46:23):
Here's what he had to say about his deal.
Speaker 3 (46:26):
How wasn't negotiating that deal for you being that you
are a hustler and you didn't necessarily I.
Speaker 24 (46:31):
Negotiated the deal that you know he is now because
my life one.
Speaker 7 (46:36):
I got.
Speaker 24 (46:38):
It was different because I didn't. You know what I'm
saying about ownership. I'm straight like it was a new
kind of deal. You know, even situation my lawyer, you
really can't even talk about it like it was a
new kind of deal, a new.
Speaker 6 (46:50):
Type of deal.
Speaker 7 (46:51):
Yeah, and that's how I deal.
Speaker 3 (46:52):
That's some ownership involved.
Speaker 8 (46:55):
It was so good. He was stuttering and.
Speaker 6 (46:57):
Yeah, he was like, they've never done a deal like
this before.
Speaker 8 (47:00):
Good for him any more kids because maybe I could
have a kid with him. But he's so rich.
Speaker 9 (47:04):
Wow, knew I knew that about you. I knew he
was an operation.
Speaker 3 (47:11):
Well, he does have ten children and he takes care
of everyone. He bought everybody a house eleven eleven sounds.
Speaker 9 (47:16):
Good, right, but they all in one house though, not.
Speaker 16 (47:19):
Having that's why you go too far MAO. As a hater,
he just want to add sauce to it. MAO just
came back and came back from the bathroom one number two.
Speaker 7 (47:29):
No, I wasn't. I was having that.
Speaker 9 (47:30):
You got the kids off at the point to the
bathroom at all?
Speaker 8 (47:33):
Yes you did, Yes, you did.
Speaker 3 (47:35):
All right, Well listen, guys, make sure you guys check
out my guy Country wan a woman's prayer. Y'all watch
Country Win. He's so funny.
Speaker 8 (47:42):
I like him. He's a good business man.
Speaker 3 (47:44):
Yeah, yeah, when it comes to ownersh because what started
off as a hustler, and I feel like a lot
of hustlers end up being great in the business space.
If you can figure that out, then you can figure
out what you need to do illegally, because that's basically
this stuff is a legal hustle. All right, Well, we
got Friday when we come back, and he's going to
be talking about his debut album. What's been going on
(48:04):
with him? He's ready to go on tour. He didn't
even expect his album was going to do as great
as it did. And he'll tell you in his own words,
it's way up with Angela.
Speaker 11 (48:11):
Yee yays you back at it.
Speaker 3 (48:19):
Angela is on what's up? Is way up with Angela Yee.
I'm Angela Yee. Jasmine brand is here.
Speaker 5 (48:24):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (48:24):
Not to be clear, this show has only been on
since February, right, so we don't have many repeat guests. However, however,
Friday is back because how could he not be fix
you know, so.
Speaker 6 (48:37):
Welcome back to Friday. Album is out.
Speaker 3 (48:41):
Last time we spoke to you, it was I think
right after the Grammys performance.
Speaker 6 (48:45):
It was before the album came out. But now your
album has come out. And by the way, your album
and Sciss's album were the top two R and B
albums in the country.
Speaker 3 (48:53):
That's your major when it came out, and people have
been really talking because you showed improved.
Speaker 6 (48:58):
So how you feeling.
Speaker 7 (48:59):
I'm blessed.
Speaker 3 (49:00):
Let's talk about a time when you were like, God,
I know you did that for me.
Speaker 6 (49:04):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (49:05):
When I found out Chris Brown wanted two of my
song cool, that was like the first time I was like, God,
thank you.
Speaker 7 (49:11):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (49:12):
Like I always knew I was one of them guys,
but they take like somebody you look up to for
you to be like, I'll mess with you, bro, and
then it just gives you like a whole boost of confidence,
like the people I looked up to, No, I belong
with them, So I'll say like Timberland and then Chris Brown, Wow,
was like the first people like that was like, bro,
you one of us like you challenge that.
Speaker 8 (49:32):
Is especially somebody like Timberland that does multiple.
Speaker 2 (49:34):
Things exactly like and he was one of the producers
I looked up to like growing up, watching my whole life,
so that.
Speaker 7 (49:40):
Was like one of the one was like, damn, like
I really belong here.
Speaker 16 (49:43):
Did Timberland give you any advice because he's been in
this industry forever, as has Chris Brown.
Speaker 2 (49:48):
Yeah, he didin't give me advice, but it was like
he gave me a lot of advice. But the most
thing I'd be like learning from people is like what
they do now what they say. So it's like with him,
I was sending him like hooks and samples every day.
He would just make like three to four beats, and
it just made me think, like, bro, like he don't
need nothing, Like he good and like he got his family,
(50:08):
he got millions of dollars his mansion.
Speaker 7 (50:10):
But he's still working hard. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (50:14):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (50:14):
He love it, you know what I'm saying. That just
motivated me to even go harder.
Speaker 2 (50:18):
Like, bro, like I'm nowhere near this man, so I
gotta I gotta make ten beats today. I gotta make
ten the hooks today if he making four. So he
really love it, and that's the same with me. That's
what I learned from him.
Speaker 3 (50:28):
Right now, Jasmine Brandon and I are talking to Friday.
People really cry like emotionally listening when you perform.
Speaker 6 (50:35):
Do you ever get teary eyed?
Speaker 2 (50:37):
Almost I'll be sawing to my own world, so I'll
look in the crowd but not focus on the face.
But I remember I had like a show in La
and I was seeing people crowd when I was like
looking in and like people after the show, like I
was crying the whole show. So it's just like, I know,
my music it's just touching, you know what I'm saying.
It's deeper than just music. It's deeper than just me performing.
(50:59):
It's just like it's like it's like therapy to some people,
you know what I'm saying. Like since the album dropped,
it's been like a lot of crying videos sent to me,
Like it's been it's been like you know what I'm saying,
a man putting his wife on the wing that comes
to you and she crying in the car like like that,
Like I've been posted on my story since you know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (51:17):
So that's feeling to create emotion. And that's what I
used to love. You know what I used to love
back in the day when there'd be songs and they
would talk like.
Speaker 7 (51:26):
Talking beginning, oh wow, listen.
Speaker 8 (51:30):
Me up, but I want to tell you.
Speaker 2 (51:35):
It'd be like six minutes. And that's right I started,
so as he said, I'm thinking about boys and.
Speaker 3 (51:41):
Man right now, Jasmine Brandon and I are talking to Friday. Listen,
you got the afrobeat, you got dance on everything.
Speaker 6 (51:48):
That I love?
Speaker 7 (51:48):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 6 (51:49):
You know your mom is on here.
Speaker 8 (51:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (51:51):
I'm like, yeah, that's so dope. So how many takes
did that take for her?
Speaker 7 (51:57):
That was one take?
Speaker 1 (51:58):
That was one take?
Speaker 6 (51:59):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (51:59):
Character I was like.
Speaker 8 (52:00):
Because look that's where you got it from, because.
Speaker 2 (52:03):
I remember we had that song and I was like,
I need a rapper on this joint. My manager was like,
just put your mom on there. I was like, that's
a good that's a good idea, bro, Like, and I
tricked her she didn't even know.
Speaker 7 (52:13):
I was like, you pray for me real quick.
Speaker 2 (52:16):
Recorded the jont oh wow, Like you pray for me
and give me some advice one take.
Speaker 3 (52:21):
That's so amazing because if you would have told her, man,
I want to put you on this album, she.
Speaker 7 (52:27):
Said, I gotta get ready.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
It is long.
Speaker 8 (52:31):
First of all. Definitely this Jason was super sincere and off.
Speaker 2 (52:36):
She didn't even know the album came out. She's like,
why didn't you let me practice?
Speaker 10 (52:42):
Likes to be said something wrong in English.
Speaker 2 (52:46):
I was like, you good, it's wrong. And like people
be playing the prayer like people on Instagram like I
needed this prayer, Like that's a real like they take
it for themselves. It's just good to see. I wasn't
even thinking about that. I was thinking about just just
a prayer for me. But when people listening to it
what she's.
Speaker 9 (53:02):
Saying there, they need that, they need it, and.
Speaker 2 (53:04):
They working out to it, they driving to it. It's
like they treating my mom like it's day mom.
Speaker 18 (53:09):
Bro.
Speaker 16 (53:11):
It's an ongoing thing that the music is bigger than you.
Speaker 7 (53:14):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (53:16):
It's real bigger than me, like even like you saying
me and Sisster had the top two. It's just like, bro,
like I'm not supposed to have that, you know what
I'm saying, Like when before I drop the album, I'm.
Speaker 7 (53:26):
Like, we're just giving good music.
Speaker 2 (53:27):
It might grow on people they don't understand right now,
I'm not even thinking about charting, you know what.
Speaker 6 (53:32):
I'm saying, just doing like.
Speaker 2 (53:34):
This, it's great music. Let's bring real music back. But
it's just showing that the music is bigger than me.
Like I only got four hundred thousand followers, but the
music is charting bigger than you know.
Speaker 7 (53:44):
What I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (53:44):
Sometimes when people chase a certain type of this is
what I want to achieve, it sounds contrived, but like
you're just doing things that are natural, and you're like, like,
I just love what I do and this is what
it is that works even better. Now I've seen you
say that it feels like everything happened really fast for you.
Speaker 7 (54:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (54:02):
Can you just talk about like how life has changed
from last year until now? What are some of the
differences This.
Speaker 2 (54:08):
Week made me like realize it even more like Fashion Week,
you know what I'm saying. Going into the events, I
said to me, He'll figure like the people all look
up to the most know whoaiim, Like, I'm a humble guy.
So I'm like, I'm introducing myself. I don't know if
you know who I am. My name is Friday, Like, yeah,
I know who you are, Like I got songs with
you. You don't even know about it yet, you know what
(54:29):
I'm saying, Like I got beats from you. You know
what I'm saying. So it's just like this week just
made me realize, like you know what I'm saying, Like
I'm really here and respected by the people I admire.
Speaker 7 (54:39):
You know what I'm saying, The people.
Speaker 6 (54:40):
That you are, some people you ran across that she
was like all set.
Speaker 2 (54:44):
Showed me love to see scissors, showed me love. You

know what I'm saying. I know what you got going on? Yeah,
I know you, bro, Like you fired bro, Like everybody is.

Speaker 6 (54:57):

It's way up with Angela Yee you the way up
with What's up? Its way up with Angela Ye, I'm
Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (55:11):
Jasmine brand is here and we are talking to Friday
for the second time on Way Up with Angela.
Speaker 5 (55:15):
Yee.
Speaker 6 (55:16):
Do you remember your first ever live performance Church?
Speaker 7 (55:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 25 (55:20):
Church?
Speaker 6 (55:22):
But what about this normal? This music?
Speaker 3 (55:24):
Like as far as your songs, your music, your EP,
your first.
Speaker 7 (55:27):
EP, my first performance with Meek Mill.
Speaker 6 (55:31):
That was that's a big one.
Speaker 2 (55:32):
Yeah, yeah that I was nervous. I remember that was
when I dropped my last my last EP, lost Melody.
Meek was coming to Philly. You know what I'm saying,
because he just dropped Flamers, but he did the remix
on Don't give Up on Me my song. So he
just tweeted, I hope Friday in the city come out. No,
(55:53):
I've seen that tweet. I act like I don't even
see I was. I was like, oh no, like but everybody,
everybody to everybody text me, bro, bro, Look.
Speaker 7 (56:02):
Look we just tweeted.
Speaker 2 (56:03):
So I was all right, let's do it, bro, Like
I texted me, I text this team, let's do it.
Speaker 7 (56:08):
I'm in the city.
Speaker 2 (56:10):
Like he was all confident, Yeah, I'm gonna be there regardless,
like I gotta do it for the city.
Speaker 7 (56:16):
Because especially after God did it, was like a lot.
Speaker 2 (56:18):
Of people didn't know I was from Philly, like I
got blew up worldwide before. It was like a come
up in my city. When he brought me out as
well as Frollo twenty thousand people.
Speaker 8 (56:28):
How would that feel?
Speaker 7 (56:29):
I was nervous as hell, but as soon as I
got on stage, it was cool. It was love.
Speaker 2 (56:33):
He was giving me that energy and the people knew
the song too, so it was like that was just
like a big stint for me, even for me being
from where I'm from.
Speaker 3 (56:42):
You know what I'm saying right now, Jasmine Brandon and
I are talking to Friday. I tell you posting London
that everybody when you were performing in London and everybody
knew all the words to your side. That has to
be an amazing feeling your songs, you know, your project
and everybody singing along.
Speaker 2 (56:58):
Yeah, that was like, I think that's like number one
in my in this year for me. Like people may
look at it like are he coming up? But like
what person that's coming up to have twenty thousand people
singing word for it in London?
Speaker 15 (57:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (57:10):
You know what I'm saying, that's when you realize you're
international music. Really, you know what I'm saying. You don't
thinking about that thing.
Speaker 2 (57:16):
Yeah, but it's like everything that I do, even collaborating
with Asake, collaborating with five boys.
Speaker 7 (57:23):
You know what I'm saying, blessings.
Speaker 2 (57:24):
It's just like my music is like it's a it's
a worldwide sound, you know what I'm saying. So I
remember being backstage at a concert. I'm just asking everybody,
like you think they're gonna know me, Bro, Like all
the Africans, they're like, trust me, trust me.
Speaker 7 (57:40):
I'm just thinking, like you know what I'm saying. They like,
trust me. Bro's word for word, trust me.
Speaker 2 (57:44):
I walked out there word for word, and it was
like it was like a shot like no, he ain't
bring on Friday, Like I was, I'm hearing it like, no,
that's not Friday. As soon as I sung that first line,
I'm not where I want to be, but I think
got crowd like crazy. So I was like, like the
biggest moment of my career right now for me, so.
Speaker 6 (58:03):
Much more to come for sure.
Speaker 3 (58:05):
You know, well, listen, I just want to say, we're
so happy that you're not too Hollywood for us yet.
Speaker 8 (58:12):
You're not too big to.
Speaker 7 (58:15):
I ain't never gonna be too Hollywood, bro, Now, listen.
Speaker 6 (58:17):
Every time I seen you. It's all love all the time.
Speaker 3 (58:20):
But we do appreciate you because super early on we
definitely wanted to have you on here. We know how
important you are and listen, it's a big deal for Philly,
you know what I'm saying. Philly is definitely a musical
place to just the history in Philly of music, the
sound of Philadelphia.
Speaker 6 (58:35):
You know a lot of really big.
Speaker 3 (58:36):
People from Philly, So I think you know you represent
for your city really well. All right, is there anything
else that you want to make sure that we know
about in case we missed it?
Speaker 7 (58:44):
Not an album out right now, you know, touring away that.
Speaker 3 (58:47):
Ship gets your cleanex in case you're going through something album.
But if you mess up with your girl, it's a
great album to put on too. You know, I'm sure
like listening, girl, don't give up on me.
Speaker 8 (58:59):
And if you need a Praylama's in there for you.
Speaker 3 (59:01):
All right, Well it is way up at Angelaee Friday.

one fifty.
Speaker 11 (59:21):

Speaker 1 (59:24):
Should you should know?
Speaker 6 (59:25):
This is ask what's up? As Way Up?
Speaker 3 (59:28):
But Angela Ye, I'm Angela Yee and we have a
panel of people to help us today. Jasmine Brand is here,
new Mano is here, DJ Nori is here eight hundred
two nine fifty one fifty three.
Speaker 6 (59:37):
What's good?
Speaker 1 (59:38):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (59:39):
Okay?
Speaker 9 (59:39):
How old?
Speaker 6 (59:41):
How are you guys?
Speaker 2 (59:42):
Gay?
Speaker 7 (59:42):
What are you doing?
Speaker 5 (59:43):
Brie?
Speaker 6 (59:43):
What is your question? We are here to help you.
Speaker 20 (59:46):
How should you react when you're in a position with
people who are hurting.
Speaker 6 (59:54):
You when they should be helping? Okay? Explain.
Speaker 20 (59:58):
People tell you hang around people you want to be.
For example, I started hanging around with the friends who
do with some kind of things and make you know,
higher income. Okay, I started hanging with them, but I'm.
Speaker 6 (01:00:12):
Not successful people.
Speaker 20 (01:00:14):
Yeah, but I'm not there yet. But I'm watching them
and I'm trying to learn. But I noticed that they
are looking at me and talking to me different when
they talk to each other. And it's kind of disheartening
because I want to be where you guys are, and
I'm not I'm not aggressive with this either. I'm not like,
(01:00:35):
tell me what you do?
Speaker 7 (01:00:38):
Yes? Can I ask you? Are you attracted to women?
Speaker 6 (01:00:45):
Nothing to do with.
Speaker 12 (01:00:50):
I want to know why does that matter?
Speaker 6 (01:00:52):
It doesn't.
Speaker 16 (01:00:55):
This is an example of not paying attention to distractions.
And will continue with your advice.
Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
Okay, are these people that you want to be friends
with or people that you need that you feel like
business wise? You just want to have some type of
interations because it's a big difference between friendship and then
coming to somebody for mentorship.
Speaker 20 (01:01:12):
I was more coming to them as friendship, not really
as an infortship because I don't allow certain people to
mentor me, if that makes sense, because everything people pour
into you isn't good. You could be poor and poison
into me.
Speaker 6 (01:01:25):
Okay, I'm okay with me. But you're saying that you
want to be where they are.
Speaker 20 (01:01:31):
Yes, That's why I was around them to watch them,
to see how they moved and see how they got
where they were.
Speaker 8 (01:01:37):
What field are you interested in?
Speaker 5 (01:01:39):
Getting in?
Speaker 20 (01:01:40):
Financial marketing and stuff? Like that, just trying to different fields.
They're in different fields. One person is in science, one
person is in tech. I would just see like how
they move their money, how they move through the financial world.
Speaker 6 (01:01:55):
For instance.
Speaker 3 (01:01:56):
For myself, right since we were talking about financial empowerment,
I've gotten myself in a space where I'm doing things
with people who I feel like are great in that space.
But I wouldn't work with anybody who I didn't like
their personality.
Speaker 6 (01:02:08):
I'm just being honest.
Speaker 3 (01:02:09):
Yeah, there's so many people in that space that you
could work with that you feel like, you know, not
only is it a business relationship, but like you said,
you don't want people pouring poison into you. And if
you feel like these people don't have your best interests,
I don't think that serves you well.
Speaker 16 (01:02:25):
Well, I also will say on the flip side, and
I'm not saying this is what you're doing, you don't
want to seem like you're strictly you have a friendship
with them because of what they offer. So, like that's
what Angelo's saying was by having you don't want anyone
to think that you're opportunists, you know what I mean.
Speaker 8 (01:02:38):
So you want to make sure that you are.
Speaker 16 (01:02:40):
If it's a genuine friendship and you guys have a connection,
cool and you guys can learn from each other. But
if someone is not being kind to you or being act,
you don't need to be around, right, you.
Speaker 9 (01:02:50):
Don't need to be around it's f them. Okay, do
you are the movement? You are the motion. You understand
you got to feel that supreme confidence. You can't listen.
Sometimes we ain't made to fit in because sometimes a
bunch of weak people they get together to become one person.
You are the one person.
Speaker 3 (01:03:06):
But I will say, if everyone is doing this, maybe
your approach also, it's something that you need to understand
and think about.
Speaker 6 (01:03:13):
Yeah, because they don't have to be your friend.
Speaker 3 (01:03:16):
You know, if you're looking to build business relationships, then
maybe you need to keep it business and not look
at it as a friendship. Okay, you know, but I've
been I've managed to build friendships with people in that
space who I actually really like, and it does take
some work because everybody is not going to have good intentions.
Speaker 6 (01:03:35):
Everyone's not going to be your friend.
Speaker 3 (01:03:36):
But think about your approach too, Like sometimes people try
too hard to force things to happen, and they're also
offut to.
Speaker 6 (01:03:43):
Yeah, that can be off putting for them.
Speaker 8 (01:03:45):
Yeah, okay, and.
Speaker 16 (01:03:46):
Maybe and I'm not saying you're doing this, but maybe
not personalized whatever it is. If you're in it to
you know, have this relationship and build with them, you know,
maybe don't personalize some of the things that you're kind
offended by or just leave them alone.
Speaker 6 (01:03:58):
And sometimes it could be us being too sensitive.
Speaker 8 (01:04:01):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:04:02):
Yeah, because Jasmine's sensitive, very sensitive person.
Speaker 7 (01:04:06):
I know I'm not. I don't give up.
Speaker 20 (01:04:08):
It's okay, I don't like that sens I grew up
in a household.
Speaker 8 (01:04:12):
Okay, that's the question to ask.
Speaker 10 (01:04:16):
Earlier thought nothing to do anything as the question.
Speaker 6 (01:04:20):
I will moving forward.
Speaker 20 (01:04:21):
I did just cut off.
Speaker 12 (01:04:23):
That group for real.
Speaker 20 (01:04:24):
I like, right, it's not mentally, it's okay. I'm gonna
get to where I'm going to do, God willing, and
I'm gonna just get there.
Speaker 6 (01:04:32):
Yeah, take your time, don't force anything that's not natural
for you.
Speaker 8 (01:04:35):
And know, be sensitive like me.
Speaker 3 (01:04:37):
And also it's okay to be direct if you have
an issue, you can let people know.
Speaker 6 (01:04:42):
Thank you, all right, thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:04:45):
And we do have to be more mindful of the
people that were around always you know.
Speaker 8 (01:04:50):
So my limit.
Speaker 6 (01:04:52):
Yeah, all right, well that was ask you.
Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
Eight hundred nine fifty one fifty is a number in
case you want to call us up and have made
ask you if you're into women. When we come back,
you guys always have the last word. It is eight
fifty last where when we come back.
Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
Take up the phone to get your voice heard. What
the word is the last word? On Way Up with Angela?
Speaker 3 (01:05:17):
Ye, what's up? It's Way Up with Angela, Ye, Angela yee.
Jasmine Brand is here, Yes, Mano is here. DJ Newry
is here, tear it to you, DJ NOWR.
Speaker 6 (01:05:27):
Y'all make sure you guys stream that featuring Sempa featuring Shampa.
Speaker 8 (01:05:33):
I like that song.
Speaker 3 (01:05:35):
They said we got two people with songs out right now.
That's amazing for my city. All right, Maino, Jasmine, I'm
not just a brain.
Speaker 16 (01:05:42):
I'm gonna have a new single coming out in a
few weeks. And she lies, I'm saying, so check out,
check out.
Speaker 8 (01:05:48):
It is fire.
Speaker 6 (01:05:51):

Speaker 3 (01:05:51):
This is all what Way Up is about, right, just
making sure it's dope content, dope people on the showpiate
you guys for having a good time with me today.
And yes, also I want to thank Friday for coming through.
He's another amazing artist. He's definitely here to stay. He's
got a different type of sound.
Speaker 6 (01:06:09):
He's also just super chill cool.
Speaker 9 (01:06:12):
Yeah, rocks with Friday.
Speaker 6 (01:06:14):
He was here.
Speaker 3 (01:06:14):
He actually during the interview was like, where's Mano? He
did ask me you guys were hanging out.
Speaker 8 (01:06:19):
Definitely, he's super He has a distinctive voice, just that pain.
Speaker 5 (01:06:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:06:25):
Yeah, so this is not a place, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (01:06:36):
But and with Nori, make sure you go check out
his past catalog too. I was telling you that, like
just as just as an amazing DJ, amazing host, but
also he's got music, so let's always check that out.
Speaker 8 (01:06:48):
You played a song that I liked that was old from.
Speaker 6 (01:06:50):
Him, Yes, and I was not that old styloed.
Speaker 7 (01:06:55):
Was that here?
Speaker 6 (01:06:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (01:06:57):
An about it?
Speaker 7 (01:07:00):
I thought it was.
Speaker 5 (01:07:01):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (01:07:03):
Yeah, I'm not diving deep enough.
Speaker 7 (01:07:05):
She actually said she only see me once a year.
Speaker 8 (01:07:07):
It was the second that's only time I see.
Speaker 7 (01:07:10):
We're gonna change that, okay.
Speaker 3 (01:07:11):
All right, all right, well thank you guys for hanging
out with us today.
Speaker 6 (01:07:15):
We actually had an amazing time.
Speaker 3 (01:07:17):
Pick aside, y'all participated as far as whether or not
we should be reporting the drama. The Jasmine brand will
do it way up with you. We're trying to keep
it positive every now and then.
Speaker 7 (01:07:27):
JAM is not going to keep it positive. They're gonna
promote whatever.
Speaker 8 (01:07:30):
What is president? I mean, he said, I don't know.
This man has been trying to hold my hand the
entire show, Angela.
Speaker 9 (01:07:37):
So why would I do that knowing that you got
a man?
Speaker 7 (01:07:40):
We've seen that picture.
Speaker 9 (01:07:41):
While why would I do that knowing that you got
a man?
Speaker 7 (01:07:44):
You want me to?
Speaker 8 (01:07:44):
You have a picture of you holding my hand?
Speaker 6 (01:07:47):
All right?
Speaker 26 (01:07:47):
Well, you guys from Chicago, I think you should not
report on that because social media are he has such
a heavy influence on the negative narrative, and I think
as people of color, there's a lot of.
Speaker 19 (01:08:06):
Predatory things going on already for us, and I feel
like they want to constantly push this narrative of animosity
and just overall aggressions Teatwenas So I think, just you know,
keep seeing it light, keeping it positive will just trickle
down to everybody else.
Speaker 7 (01:08:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:08:22):
It's Mike hal from Phoenix, Arizona, and I want to
shine a lot on Joyce Lutan's her birthday lamorrow and
she's been graceful, loving me and always there for me.
I love my Mama, and thank you for never turning
your back on me when everybody else did.
Speaker 7 (01:08:37):
Have a good one.
Speaker 25 (01:08:38):
Hey, yee, this is Rock Kim calling out of Florida.
I was calling reference to what you're saying on air
about you guys reporting on news reports that could be
potentially dangerous and if you should report on them or not,
And I think you shouldn't because sometimes the media don't
have a story right and you can portray a bad
(01:08:59):
light on somebody. And I was actually a victim of
that myself, so that touched home with me. I don't
think you should be reporting on it.
Speaker 1 (01:09:07):
Going way out turn Out with Angela Yate
