Speaker 1 (00:01):
You are now showing Angel what I.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Called her yee today, Like what day is it? For
some reason, it felt like it was later in the week,
but a very active weekend that I had. Shout out
to our New York Liberty made it to the playoffs.
I went to the game on Friday, so it was an.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
Amazing, fun game. Shout out to her.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
She was at the game also, so we got to
sit down for Emil as well. Now we're going to
have a really fun show for you guys today Rashida
from Love and Hip Hop Atlanta and she also has
her own Boss Move show on Filo. It's going to
be joining us, and Kirk is going to be joining
us as well because he was with her. Of course,
(00:45):
that's her husband there together, damn there all the time.
So they're gonna have some fun things to talk about
about their new season, also of course about love and
hip Hop and many other things that you may have
seen in the news. Also shout out to everybody. I
hope everybody had a good and safe weekend. There's so
many things to talk about now. On Friday, we discussed
(01:05):
Genie Mai and Jeezy's breakup, and now another couple has
been separated for a while, and we're going to talk
about all of that during the show today. It is
so sad to see all these couples breaking up. You
never wish that on any couple, especially when they're children involved.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
But we'll discuss and for.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Everybody who was excited for Drake's album, for all the dogs,
who knows if that's going to come out, But we
got a lot of things in yet, We got a
lot of under the radar fun stories for you today.
It is a Monday, so that does mean we also
have tell Us a Secret. That's where you guys get
to call in and tell us a secret. Eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty. But let's get it started.
We are going to shine a light on them that
spread some positivity on a Monday.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
That's how we always start the week. Let's start the
week off right.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. When we
come back, shine a light on them. It's way up
with Angela.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Ye were gonna light.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
The fluck of them.
Speaker 4 (01:53):
I'm shine, I'm shine. Turn your lights on y'all. Lights
it spreading love to those who are doing greatness.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Light. It's time to shine a light on.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Yes, it is way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela
Yee and it is a Monday. So let's start this
week off shining a light and spending some positivity.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
And first off, I want to shine a light on
Don Kelly.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
She is the owner of the Nourished Spot, and she's
actually going to be teaming up with me to reopen
my Juice Bar in Brooklyn. So I'm really excited for that.
She's an award winning entrepreneur. She won the Entrepreneur of
the Year from the New York State Economic Council. But
I love the fact that we have similar goals in mind,
and that is to make sure that we're bringing better
(02:40):
options to our communities as far as food and nourishment.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
And so shout out to her for that. And we
actually had.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
A great conversation over the weekend about the different things
that we're going to do to reopen the wider range
of offerings that we're going to have at the Juice
Bar in Brooklyn. It's something that's always been near and
dear to my it was really hard for me to
try to keep this going on my own, so we
ended up having to close. Anybody who's an entrepreneur knows
it can be heartbreaking when you start something and then
(03:09):
you end up having to pivot and change. I was
thinking maybe I was going to have to give it up,
but fortunately I reached out to her and she was
definitely down and we're excited because we have aligned visions.
But yeah, Don Kelly, I want to shout out to you,
just because I like to work with people who I
feel like, just in general, have good intentions. That's the
main thing for me. It's not all about just making money.
(03:31):
It's all about good intentions. You know, she worked at
Prudential for over sixteen years, so she has experience with finance,
and she's like me, she wants to do everything the
right way above the table.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
So shout out to you, Don Kelly. Now, who do
you want to shine a light on?
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Eight hundred two ninet two fifty one fifty it's a number, Brandon,
Who do you want to shine a light on?
Speaker 5 (03:50):
I want to shine a light on my mother and
my siblings, my sisters, and my wife. I had a
heart trains plant in February. Just been holding me down
ever since. Truly appreciated not just his family, but as
good human being.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
That's amazing. Brandon, you had a heart transplant. That must
have been really tough.
Speaker 5 (04:07):
Oh man, I got a second with used life and
truly blessed.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
All right, you are blessed.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
We shout out to them because I know all that
love and support helped me, helped you make it through.
Speaker 5 (04:16):
Yes, ma'am, all right.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Thank you, Brandon, Thank you. Hey, Jasmine, what's up?
Speaker 6 (04:21):
Hey?
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Who do you want to shine a light on?
Speaker 6 (04:24):
I want to shine a light on my husband Andrew.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Okay, tell us why.
Speaker 6 (04:29):
Because he's been doing the truck and industry for like
ten years and put there everything's falling off and stuff
like that. We were struggling for a long time, but
he was able to come back home and be home
more with the kids and actually found something that entrepreneurship,
and he's happy with that.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Oh okay, and listen, ain't nothing better than when y'all
been struggling together and you make it through.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
To the other side.
Speaker 6 (04:53):
Yes, for sure.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
Jasmine, and Andrew, how long you've been married for you?
And Andrew? How long you'll been married for?
Speaker 6 (05:00):
Like thirteen years?
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Okay, Thurstan, it's my lucky number. So I feel like
this is gonna be a good year. Thank you all right,
thank you, Jasmine, all right, all right, well that was
Shina light. I don't eight hundred two ninety two fifty
one fifty is the number. And when we come back,
we have yet And let's talk about Tianna Taylor and
Emon Shempard. It looks like they are doing a great
job co parenting, but they are no longer together. Will
(05:24):
tell you about the statement that she released. Its way
yup put Angela yee.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
They says in the rooms.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
From industry shade to all of gossip out, Angela's feeling
that yet.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
All right, this way yup put Angela yee. I'm Angela
yee and it's time for.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
You yee t over the weekend.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
I don't think this was a surprise, but Tianna Taylor
did say that she's been separated from Emon Shepherd for
a while. She kind of felt like she had to
say something. There were a lot of blogs posting Emon
Shepherd and saying that he's with other women. Well, she
posted at not too much on my bestie and all fairness,
Emon and I are separated. Happened for a while, and
she said infidelity wasn't the reason. She said, we are
(06:05):
still the best of friends, great business partners, and one
hell of a team when it comes to co parenting
our two beautiful children. Most importantly, we are family and
in the ten years together, seven years, Mary, we had
ever played with or about that. All Right, that's how
you do things quietly, out of the public eye, so
everybody's not weighing in. So by the time you're able
(06:25):
to let the world know what's going on, y'all have
already dealt with it and put it behind you. And
so I think just because these blogs are posting him
doing whatever he wanted, she felt like, let's not make
it seem like my husband is cheating on me, and
that's a beautiful co parenting relationship.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Right, Were you shocked?
Speaker 5 (06:42):
In?
Speaker 7 (06:44):
Was I shocked? I don't know. I feel like, wow, No, okay,
were you shocked, Angela?
Speaker 3 (06:50):
No, I just said I wasn't.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
I was because we've seen all these other these things
being posted and remember they had a reality show together
and everything, and then you don't really see them together
like you used to. Yeah, So all right, now, halle
Berry is upset. She does not like that new single
cover art that Drake put out, and she also doesn't
know what it means.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
To, I guess slime you Out? That's the song.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
And so somebody said that, halle Berry, what are your
thoughts of Drake using that picture of you for his single?
Speaker 3 (07:19):
She said, didn't get my permission. That's not cool.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
I thought better of him, and I guess he did,
you know, somehow reach out and she didn't want that
being used.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
And so I understand that because slime you out? What
does that mean?
Speaker 2 (07:32):
And then the artwork is of her getting slimed. It's
a funny picture.
Speaker 7 (07:37):
Do you think he should have not used.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
It if she specifically said no, which is what she says, Yeah,
then I do feel like me if it was me,
I wouldn't have used it if she specifically said no.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
But what do you think?
Speaker 8 (07:51):
I mean, it's great promo, it's great for the song,
but it definitely diamonds the relationship if there was any
We don't know if there really was a relationship.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
You know me, I'm a very empathetic person.
Speaker 9 (07:59):
Yeah, don't.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
I don't ever want to do anything that's going to
hurt anybody's feelings.
Speaker 7 (08:03):
You do go for the relationship first.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Yeah, and it's not even just a relationship.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
I understand how it feels when people do something without
your permission or against your word or against your word, or.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Just that you feel is disrespectful.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
So it's not even like I don't have a relationship
with Halle Berry, but I would feel bad if she
was like, nah, I don't like that, right, you know
now if it's a ridiculous thing, but it's her image.
That's what I'm saying, all right. He also says that
he has a dilemma about whether or not he should
cancel shows to finish the album or complete the mission
and drop the album before the last show.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
What do you think is a better thing to do?
Cancel these shows?
Speaker 7 (08:37):
You can't cancel shows?
Speaker 3 (08:38):
Yeah, I think that's rude.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
And I think anybody venues that have you book, people
that have bought tickets.
Speaker 8 (08:43):
Yeah, and with these tickets being as expensive as they are,
people like really people yeah planned around this.
Speaker 7 (08:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Yeah, so you can't really cancel the shows.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
In a way, I feel like he already knew he
wasn't going to just gets the hype going more or
more to talk about all right now? In the shows,
gonna had that big show at the Barclays that was
sold out. You said everybody was going crazy and there
were a lot of people who had issues with Gunna.
They were saying that he snitched on Young Thug. He snitched,
they saw him in the courtroom. Well, Young Thug's father
(09:13):
has some comments about whether or not Gonna is a snitch.
He was on Infamous Sylvia's radio show. This was on Friday,
and here's what he had to say.
Speaker 9 (09:22):
I love Gunnar.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Gunna hasn't done anything.
Speaker 9 (09:26):
Was so elvi that can hurt us on this case period?
Speaker 3 (09:31):
All right, And that's Young Thug's father saying that.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
So it looks like, you know, it's all in the
And to be also clear, Gunna did post and during
the show, you know jeff Yeah, free Jeffrey for Young
Thugs show.
Speaker 7 (09:46):
I feel like he does every time he's in public.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
He always does that, but he might really mean it,
and he probably hates this narrative about him of him
quote unquote getting canceled and.
Speaker 7 (09:55):
The song Bread and Butter. He said the lawyers tricked
him and set him up.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Yeah, so I mean you see a lot of people,
you know, getting played on both sides. All right, Well
that is your UETA. And when we come back, we
have about last night. That's where we discussed the things
that we did last night. When I tell you this weekend,
I woke up today, I thought it was the end
of the week because I feel like I did so much.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Over the weekend.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
I was like, I woke up, I was like, what
day is it today? And then I was like, oh
my god, it's Monday. I feel like I've been working
on weekends just getting started. But it's not a problem, right,
We're happy to be here on a Monday. It's way
up at Angela Yee. About last night is next?
Speaker 7 (10:30):
Yeah, last night?
Speaker 1 (10:32):
So about last night? Last night, last night Za went down.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
It's way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee. On Monday.
Mato is missing. We got to make sure he's okay,
if y'all can please tag him. But my producer Dan
is here, so no worries, and we're doing about last
night now. I was excited for this because y'all know
I love our New York Liberty and I will go
to these WNBA games. So last night, you know, we
(10:59):
made the playoff and the Liberty did win. Shout out
to New York Liberty. They beat the Washington Mystics ninety
seventy five. Sabrina Yonescu, by the way, has been killing it,
both she and Brianna Stewart Stewie. Yes, and she actually
Sabrina Enescu led all the players twenty nine points. And
(11:19):
it was an amazing game though, because we were down
at first and then when we came back there was
no stopping us.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
But there were a lot of people there.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
By the way, shout out to Sue Byrd, who was
sitting right by us. She played her entire career with
the Seattle Storm. She played in the WNBA. And you
know who else was there. Cheryl Swoops was there. And
here's a little fun fact. I was telling Navy who
runs the boards up here. She was the first ever
player to be signed to the WNBA when they were
(11:46):
created back in nineteen ninety six.
Speaker 7 (11:48):
Two legends.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Yeah, so she was there. Also, another legend was there her.
She was at the game. And Chris Brickley was there also.
You know he's a trainer. And by the way, if
y'all don't know this, and I'm gonna keep on saying this,
her is an amazing basketball player.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
She's really really good.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Like if you've ever seen there was a video of
her where she was shooting and hitting all these threes.
Speaker 7 (12:11):
You saw that, Yes, I did.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Yeah, so's she loves going to the games. Yeah, shout
out to her and shout out to Aunt who is
always the person that brings her.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
And he's a musician also.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
And another person who I saw who I was really
excited to see is Roll Timmy. Now, Roll Timmy has
a new single that he just put out a couple
of weeks ago. Apparently when I switched phones, I didn't
switch all my numbers over, and Roll Timmy definitely did
send me to single. But sometimes I don't know who's
texting me, and I should have just been like, Hey,
who's this. But he has a new song out, and
(12:44):
he's actually gonna come up here for sure. Roll Timmy's
always been super supportive. Fun fact, we also went to
the same high school in New Jersey. He just went
there later than I did, but it's the same school
that Laurence Hill went to, the same school. Jennifer Williams
from Basketball Wise Happy Birthday Gen she went there.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Also.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Sizza went there, and so he set me the song. Now,
when I saw the title of the song and I
know his relationship, I thought it was very sweet. I
was like, oh, it's called bestie, right, Dan, I said,
the song is called bestie.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
What do you think is about his woman?
Speaker 7 (13:17):
His wife? They're married?
Speaker 10 (13:18):
Right?
Speaker 3 (13:19):
Are they married?
Speaker 2 (13:20):
I know that they have kids together. Let me just yeah,
put it together, let me see. Let me now, you're
making me do a deep dive. You see if he's
married or not. So if you hear a song called bestie,
your wife should be your bestie?
Speaker 3 (13:31):
Right right?
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Oh yes, I'm sorry, Yeah you would assume so well.
Uh yeah, I heard the song and it was not
what I thought it was going to be about.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
Wrote to me, here is what this song Bestie is about.
Speaker 11 (13:45):
Let me see, let me see you with your best
deep best steep steep teste testing you could bring your
best sept.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
It was not about his wife as his best friend.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
It was about him telling somebody, hey, you coop, bring
your bestie.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
So shout out to rot Timmothough. I know it's just
music and it's fun.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
And you hear that Lauren Hill sample in there too,
So we were talking about that too, because she did
go to Columbia High School. Everybody in Jersey shout out
to y'all, but yes, So apparently they got married in
twenty twenty. It looks like right, is that true? Okay, yes,
so shout out to him Iro. Timmy will be on
way up as soon. So I appreciate you so much,
wrote Timmy. But make sure y'all check out that song Bestie.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
That we just played for you.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
All right now, when we come back, it is time
to tell us a secret.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
Now what this segment is?
Speaker 2 (14:33):
And I saw a lot of people posting tell us
a secret and saying, oh my god, I can't believe
you didn't check that person. The whole point of tell
us the secret is we don't check you. It is
a no judgment zone. You're able to call him, tell
us anything that you want to say, and we are
not going to judge you.
Speaker 3 (14:48):
Maato's not here today, so we really not going to
judge you.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
But no matter what it is, we are supposed to
reserve judgment and let you just tell us that secret
and not say oh you no, no, no, I can't
believe that. Oh you're a terrible person. None that all right?
Eight hundred fifty one fifty. It's the weekend.
Speaker 3 (15:03):
I know you all got a lot of secrets that
you want to share.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
I get it's a no judgment so one hundred ninety
two fifty one to fifty. Start up this Monday, clearing
the air. Tell us the secret. It's a way up
with Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
This is a judgment free zone.
Speaker 10 (15:16):
Tell us a secret.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
What's up this way up at Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
I'm Angela Yee and it is time on a Monday
to tell us a secret.
Speaker 9 (15:24):
Now.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Remember this is where you guys get to remain anonymous
and we don't judge you. I see a lot of
people in the comments when other blog sites are posting, uh,
posting out of context. Tell us a secret, but it's
not anything that we're promoting that this person does.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Is we support it.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
It is just a judgment free zone for you guys
to clear off your chest and release that burden of
an untold secret.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
Okay, anonymous carlor, how are you?
Speaker 1 (15:50):
I'm going?
Speaker 3 (15:51):
How are you doing?
Speaker 1 (15:52):
How good?
Speaker 3 (15:52):
Thank you? You want to tell us a secret?
Speaker 12 (15:54):
Yes? My secret is that I have a really popular
barbe account and I old the other female rappers and
no one knows about it. But it's something that i'd
love to do.
Speaker 6 (16:06):
Like me.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
Okay, okay, so you have a barber account.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
We don't know what the account is but you troll
every like, what are some things that you say to
these other rappers as an example.
Speaker 12 (16:18):
Just petty things, nothing too personal, just things that could,
you know, make people laugh. It's not to be extremely mean.
It's just the troll a little bit in support of
all the Barbs and Nicky.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
And when did you start doing that?
Speaker 12 (16:32):
I'm probably about a couple of years ago.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
Okay, Oh my gosh. All right, well thanks for Sharon.
Don't say anything to me, please, I won't.
Speaker 12 (16:42):
It's not the hurt feelings. It's just to get a
key labs while supporting the Barbs and the Queen.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
Has has Nikki ever tweeted you or retweeted you?
Speaker 12 (16:51):
No, she hasn't, but I wish she would. That would
be amazing.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
All right, well, thank you. Oh you know, I wanted
to ask you.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
Have you been watching every everything that was going on
after the VMA's Oh.
Speaker 12 (17:03):
Yeah, I definitely saw all of that, but just from
you know, the standpoint of everyone.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
Else as a byron, what are your thoughts?
Speaker 12 (17:11):
My thoughts are no need for the pettiness with the
men and everything, and Nicky's just the queen and all
the other step of the relevance.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
Okay, all right, well, thank you for sharing. Thank you
by hanging on him as color. How are you?
Speaker 13 (17:25):
How are you?
Speaker 3 (17:26):
I'm good? Thank you. You want to tell us a secret today?
Speaker 14 (17:29):
Yes, I'm gonna traffic. I'm gonna try to keep it
short and street. So I went to Mexico with my
girls this summer. I smoked it whatever, So I tried
with me to weed into Mexico because I'm like, if
I can get it other you know, I'm like, if
I can get it on this plane, I can get through.
Speaker 12 (17:45):
I'm good to go.
Speaker 14 (17:46):
Go tell me why as so a Jayonka plane in Mexico,
they got the dude sitting there with the dogs and
like they can tell you at any point, go over
there and get your back chair.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Girl.
Speaker 15 (17:56):
They picked me out.
Speaker 14 (17:58):
No, like telling this toy right now, I'm still so scared,
and if this happened in Juil, I'm so so scared
telling this toy right now. So I put my bag
up and the lady's like, unzip it. My hand was
shaking so hard, and like right now telling this story
in my hand, it's shaking. This is that hard of
me trying to.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
Country. So what happened in Mexico Mexico.
Speaker 14 (18:23):
Is that so look, I'm here to talk to y'all.
So I got away with it somehow, I don't know.
The night before I ended up putting everything where it
kind of like blended in and you're not didn't have
a big pack or anything like those is like a
little personal. But yeah, I almost with the gem in
Mexico trying.
Speaker 12 (18:40):
To be cute.
Speaker 14 (18:41):
I'll never do it again. I'll go out of country sober.
I don't give a damn what happens. I'm gonna be
sober at heale going out of country.
Speaker 15 (18:49):
I'm just gonna be drunk.
Speaker 16 (18:50):
I don't.
Speaker 13 (18:53):
Oh girl.
Speaker 14 (18:53):
I was so thankful, Like when I got outside, I
was just breathing and just like living the faking the
air everything. I was playing little thank you for not
taking me to a Mexican prison. It was only eight
I'm going down though.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
I know I was going Downsten.
Speaker 2 (19:08):
I know you were taking everybody else that got caught
with Yeah, let me ask you, this is just you
smoke that weed.
Speaker 12 (19:15):
Later, I did you know what?
Speaker 15 (19:18):
I was so grateful.
Speaker 14 (19:19):
I smoked with some people in the resort.
Speaker 15 (19:21):
I was like, God put me through.
Speaker 14 (19:24):
I'm smoking with everybody, like y'all, let's having a good time.
And I did not take anything back.
Speaker 15 (19:29):
I didn't take stand back. I didn't take nothing back.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
Okay, all right, but thank you for I'm so glad
you did not have to go to jail.
Speaker 7 (19:36):
Girl.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
What a less alone too?
Speaker 12 (19:40):
Oh my god, we thank having me take care.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
By hanging on him his color? How are you?
Speaker 15 (19:47):
I'm okay, how are you doing?
Speaker 3 (19:48):
I'm gad you want to tell us a secret?
Speaker 15 (19:51):
Yes, I have two boyfriends. We'll just say guy and
Guy B.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
Okay, simulates me and he hasn't say it like the
he's smarter than.
Speaker 15 (20:04):
The other guy?
Speaker 2 (20:05):
Is that guy?
Speaker 3 (20:07):
Is he at least a little smart or okay?
Speaker 15 (20:10):
Oh yeah, he's not stupid. He's just not like I
can't come to him and talk to him business. But
he definitely physically simulates me and financially too, so I can't.
I don't know what to do.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
Oh but together they form the perfect Together, they form
the perfect man.
Speaker 6 (20:28):
Right exactly if only?
Speaker 3 (20:30):
I'm curious.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
So if you have, say it's the weekend and you're
about to go on a trip, who would you pick?
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Which one Guy A or Guy B.
Speaker 15 (20:38):
It depends on the excursion, Like if i'm going to
go do something like the beach that doesn't take too
much common sense, then I'll take Guy B. But if
I'm going to go to like the aquarium or something
like a museum, I'm definitely taking Guy A.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
Oh yeah, girl, all right, well, thank you for sharing.
That is the dilemma of the year. Boy.
Speaker 15 (20:57):
Yeah, I just have one quick question.
Speaker 5 (20:59):
I feel like I should be able to have my.
Speaker 15 (21:02):
Cake and eat it too, because ain't that what you're
supposed to do.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
Well, if you're just dating Dan yet, you can date
both of them. If you're not committed, if you're not lying.
Speaker 15 (21:12):
I'm gonna work on it.
Speaker 16 (21:13):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
She's like nip.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
They both my man's okay, thank you, no problem. All right,
Well that was tell us a secret. And when we
come back, we have a yeet. And speaking of secrets,
Young Miami talks about Diddy in the bedroom and she
is spelling it all.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
It's way up with Angela yee ye.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
T next show, she's about to blow the lid of
off this spot.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
Let's get it. Oh, Angela's spelling that yet, Come and
get your tea.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Yes, it's way up with Angela yee. I'm Angela yee
and it is time for your yee t. Young Miami
was with Diddy as he's promoting his new album, the
love album Off the Grid, which I was listening to
this weekend while I was stuck in traffic all weekend
in the car, and they did an interview on Apple
Music to promote the new LP and Off the Grid.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
Here's what Karsha had to.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
Say aka Miami about Diddy taking her off the grid
to Love Island.
Speaker 10 (22:03):
What was your favorite time that I took you off
the grid.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
And we had to island from every thing?
Speaker 9 (22:08):
Yeah, I have an island.
Speaker 17 (22:09):
So when I took you to Love Island and then
you realize that, you know, the plane landed and then
we had the float to another island.
Speaker 10 (22:17):
What was going through your head when we were going there?
Speaker 1 (22:19):
Was?
Speaker 5 (22:25):
Yeah, I tell you all our truth.
Speaker 13 (22:27):
But Forreer, I was just like God.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
Damn from over here. It's different over here.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
And then in addition to that, she talked about their
relationship in the bedroom room and how he don't get tied.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
So how many round would you be going?
Speaker 13 (22:40):
You know the people don't stands.
Speaker 9 (22:43):
Baby.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
Let me tell you something. I'm gonna speak.
Speaker 18 (22:50):
I'll be like gods.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
I'm gonna tell y'all solf for real, for real, for real.
Speaker 19 (22:54):
I ready thought that I was gonna like make him
tap out, like I read thought he was gonna be
being out.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
No chance, this don't go to flee.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
I feel like when we interviewed Diddy before, he talked
about that and how long he can go and this
meditation thing he does, this Comma future thing he does
during sex.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
But we'll have to revisit that.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
In addition, Diddy also got awarded the Key to the
City in New York, and so he was excited about that,
in addition to getting the Global Icon Award at the VMA.
So it's been a good time for him to put
out a new project, right all right, And speaking of
new music, BG is dropping some new music. He said,
I know y'all wondering where I'm at and what I'm doing,
but I'm taking it one day at a time. I'm
(23:35):
working in silence, and I'm gonna show up loud. I'm
grateful for all the love and motivated by the hate.
Heart of the Streets three coming sooner than y'all think.
Listen to this.
Speaker 17 (23:43):
When I was young, young man, I'm not lost some
streets when I'm in the streets.
Speaker 5 (23:47):
Man, I'm not all of the streets when I was
young man.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
All right, So get ready for some new BG. Came home,
went straight to work, all right.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
And speaking of work, Drew Barrymore, now all the time
when I come in here to work, I was walking
past the people outside striking from the Writer's Guild, from
the WGA. And that's because the Drew Barrymore Show was
supposed to be coming back on.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Actually today today, September eighteenth.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
Well, it looks like she has walked that back and
has decided to remain in compliance and not actually bring
back the Drew Barrymore Show right away. So she has
said that she's going to halt the return after that
backlash and will resume her show when the strike is over.
She said, I've listened to everyone, and I am making
the decision to pause the show's premire until the strike
(24:31):
is over. I have no words to express my deepest
apologies to anyone I have hurt. In addition, Jennifer Hudson
her show was supposed to be back as well. That
was going to be happening today too, but she has
also delayed her show premiering again for the new season, Dan,
did you anticipate this.
Speaker 7 (24:48):
The delay I produce it?
Speaker 8 (24:50):
Yes, I did, just because I mean, like I understand
that they wanted to get the show back on for
like their staff. But there's the bigger picture at hand.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
Yeah, and then afterward, like people say, when that strike
is over, you don't want to be one of those
people that what do they call it?
Speaker 3 (25:03):
Scabs everyone?
Speaker 2 (25:06):
Yeah, the scabs that go against everybody, because now people
are going to have an issue right with you, because
it makes it harder for everybody else if you are
going to continue with life as normal, all right, Designer,
according to his attorney, he.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Is not going to have to register as a sex offender.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
According to people, they said that that was part of
what he would have to do, but Designer's lawyer, Ryan Gary,
said that may not be the case. He says that
Designer many news outlets have incorrectly stated that is required
to register. It's as an absolute condition of his probation.
They are wrong since this was a federal misdemeanor. The
sentencing judgment states that if the state of California or
(25:41):
some other government entity requires that mister Selby must register
as a sex offender, then he must. However, the parties
in this case have come to the legal conclusion that
this misdemeanor conviction is not one that will cause him
to have to register as a sex offender.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
So that's the deal.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
Now, they could always, of course change their mind or
disagree in California, he said, if they do, then we'll
address that at that time, all right, and that is
your ETM. When we come back, we have under the radar.
These are the stories that are not necessarily in the headlines.
They are flying under the radar, but they are just
as important. It's way up with Angela Yee. Under the
radar is next news.
Speaker 4 (26:17):
Addition, the news that relates to you. These stories are
flying under the radar.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
Yes, it is way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee,
and it's time for under the radar. These are the
stories that are flying under the radar, but you definitely
need to know about them now. Today it's a special
day for everybody who eats burgers. Today is National Cheese
Burger Day. So what does that mean. Well, depending on
(26:42):
which one of these fast food chains you go to,
you can get all kinds of deals. Now McDonald's customers,
you can get a double cheeseburger for only fifty cents, okay,
and you'll have to use the app to be able
to access the deal though, when it's limited to one
burger per person. Now, in addition to that, Burger King okay,
National Cheeseburger Day, if you join their Royal Perks program,
(27:05):
you get a free cheeseburger, but you have to spend
at least a dollar. And at Wendy's right now, you
can also get your burger there for just a penny.
It's a junior bacon cheeseburger and that's through September twenty second,
by the way, but you also do have to buy
something else from the menu. All right now, Dan, who
is our producer? I know you're a burger fanatic, love it?
(27:29):
What place would you go to? And just so you know,
smash Burger Carlos Junior. They're also offering discounted burgers as well.
I'm a Wendy's guy, okay, So you would do the
one cent junior bacon.
Speaker 7 (27:41):
Cheeseburger probably, yeah, I like Wendy's the best, but.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
You got to buy something else.
Speaker 7 (27:45):
That's fine. In addition, that's never an issue.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
All right now.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
A former NFL player is missing. Sergio Brown and his
mother was also found dead in a suspected homicide after
relatives told authorities they couldn't reach either of the family members.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
On Saturday.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Sergio Brown is thirty five years old and his seventy
three year old mother, Murdle Brown, was reported missing by family.
There was a search that was launched for the pair,
and Myrtle Brown was found dead near a creek behind
her home. Her death was ruled a homicide yesterday. She
reportedly died from multiple injuries tied to an assault. Right now,
they are trying to find Sergio Brown. He's a former safety.
(28:22):
He played for the New England Patriots, the Indianapolis Coast
to Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Buffalo Bills from twenty ten
until twenty sixteen.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
He played in the League.
Speaker 2 (28:31):
Sergio's brother, Nick Brown, is saying I want him to
know that I love you and please come home. So
they don't know where he is, but they are trying
to find.
Speaker 3 (28:39):
Him right now.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
That's really sad and we have no idea the details
of what could have potentially happened. With that said, we're
praying for that family. Not an easy thing to have
to deal with all right, twenty twenty three, they're saying,
after this year, get ready for a spike in marriage proposals.
So you can expect that because in gays are going
to pick up steam. They said, due to the pandemic,
(29:03):
things kind of fell off.
Speaker 3 (29:05):
According to Signete.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
Jewelers, which is the largest jewelry company in the United States,
the pandemic did dent the sales of engagement rings as
relationships were as we saw a lot of people living
together not getting along, faltering, or sometimes relationships didn't even
get a chance to blossom in the first place. People
were inside, people were not socializing ouside of a media family.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
So that's what they call an engagement gap. Right.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
But now they're saying because a lot of people are
back out and about, there's.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
A lot more dating going on.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
So they expect that the dent and proposals will bottom
out this year and engagements are likely to rebound starting
early in twenty twenty four.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
So that's a good thing.
Speaker 2 (29:44):
That's a good thing for the jewelry industry, and that's
a good thing for relationships, all right. And nine juveniles
escaped from a practice academy. There was a riot that
broke out last night, according to authorities, but they all
have been caught this morning.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
It was.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
It was a a really crazy situation in Pennsylvania. By
Monday morning, though, all nine of those teenagers that escaped
last night were found and so state and local police
responded to the incident. They were able to take back
control of the juvenile detention center, but some of those
juvenile offenders were reported to have fled the facility and
they were on the run. Fourteens were found about five
(30:22):
forty five am this morning. The remaining five were found
not long after. And this was all announced in a
news conference. All right, and that is you're under the
radar now, you know. Today we have Rashida and Kirk
joining us.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
Yeah, Kirk Fross.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
I was about to get to that because they're from
Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, but Rashida also has her
show Boss Moves, and I think what we say Kirk
and Rashida, you know who they are, I mean people,
you know. Yeah, but yes, the Frosts are going to
be joining us today. You know, they have the Frost
Bistro and everything. They have a restaurant, but they have
a lot of different businesses, real estate everything. But they've
been married for quite some time. A lot of upstate
(31:00):
downs that you've got to see in the public. We'll
discuss all of that. Plus we got the Way Up
Mix at the top of the hour. You know, there's
no better way to start you on Monday than the
Way Up Mix. All right, it's the Way Up with
Angela Yee. She's like the talk like they Angela Jean,
like they Angela Jee.
Speaker 4 (31:15):
And she's spilling it all. This is yet way up.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
Yes, it's way up with Angela Ye, Angela Yee. And
guess who's here, New Maina, New Maina.
Speaker 10 (31:28):
I'm sorry I got here. She has some difficulty.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
You got the red Mariah Carey, Okay, crazy you know.
All right, well let's get into some yet as you're
drinking your Yee tea as well, we do have to
do a rest in peace to Irish Grinstein from the
Girl Group seven oh two. She was only forty three
years old, and her older sister Lemisha confirmed her unexpected
death on Instagram. She said, it is with great sadness
(31:55):
that I have to let you know my beautiful sister
and friend has passed away this evening. She has had
a lot on battle and she is finally at piece.
That girl was as bright as the stars. She was
not only beautiful on the outside but also within. So
the cause of death has not been shared, but she
did in December announce medical leave of absence due to
serious medical issues. They have one of the classic songs
(32:17):
that me and my friends love, this song right here?
Speaker 10 (32:24):
Wasn't it another one that died from that group?
Speaker 3 (32:27):
Yeah? I believe so.
Speaker 2 (32:28):
I said the same thing when I first saw when
I first saw this news, really sad situation, all right. Now,
another really sad situation to see is this beef that
was happening over the weekend after the VMA's.
Speaker 10 (32:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
I don't want to see that, right, isn't it?
Speaker 9 (32:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 17 (32:44):
I ain't for that, And I don't want to pump that.
I don't want to promote that. I want to see that,
not turn it into something that it could turn into.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
And that's why the fans need to really make sure
that they don't encourage with.
Speaker 17 (32:58):
Each other that's not well, that's has the potential to
be something totally different, you know. And the thing is,
it's like when we see rappers get caught up and
stuff like that, and rappers actually dying and go to prison,
and everybody says, oh wow, why why this stuff needs
to stop? And part of part of what needs to
stop is us promoting some of the you know, some
of the stuff that's going on.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
Right.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
That's why I was I didn't do this story earlier.
I didn't know you you were going to come in today,
and I was very concerned.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
I was like, for real, was.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
Fortunately you're here, But I like to get your take
on things as you being a rapper in this business
and having to deal with back and forth, how do
you handle it right? And sometimes the media and the
press wing in on it, as well as people on
social media having things to say, can really inflate things
even more.
Speaker 10 (33:43):
It does. That's the right word right there.
Speaker 17 (33:44):
It can really inflate things, and it pushes you in
a position to feel like, man, I need to say something.
I need to do something because everybody's saying that I
need to you know, dudes, people people becoming on your
on your page and your dms, like you ain't gonna.
Speaker 10 (33:58):
Let that slide, right right?
Speaker 7 (34:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (34:00):
I mean the other thing is this, it's two men
who are also defending.
Speaker 13 (34:06):
Their wives, right, that's pride, and.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
That is a lot of ego and pride and how
do you get away from that and resolve those issues?
Speaker 3 (34:12):
Y'all ain't got to be friends.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
Nobody has to be friends, But how do you make
sure that because at a certain point it also affects
the money.
Speaker 17 (34:17):
And the thing about pride and ego is there's so
many men in prison, in graves behind pride and ego.
You know, I've been a victim of that myself so
many times, you know, not allowing things to you know,
be what they was because it was my pride that
was pushing me to do things that I felt like
(34:37):
I had to do because you know, I was like, nah,
I can't swallow my pride like I swallowed my blood first,
like you know, and it's not cool.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
Right, So we just want to say that I was
actually going to make this a topic possibly tomorrow with
pick Aside, So you guys start thinking about that.
Speaker 3 (34:51):
Now.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
When things like this happen, do we have a responsibility?
Do you want us to report it? Or do you
feel like, let's not even report these things?
Speaker 3 (35:00):
Right?
Speaker 17 (35:00):
Yeah, it's certain things I feel like we you know,
some of the media, some of the blaws I feel
like has A should have have a you know, some
sort of understanding of what is It's different from a
rapper on rapper, you know, but when you're dealing with
people that you know are not actually artists and are
connected to the street in a certain type of way,
(35:22):
you know, it could it could have the potential to
be something different.
Speaker 10 (35:25):
You know.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
Okay, all right, good.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
I'm glad to hear it, because I was like, if
he comes in, we're going to discuss it.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
If not, I'm always here and it is a Monday,
so you know we are going to have a Monday
May ovation. I cannot wait here. That's going to be today.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
And lastly, since we were talking about the VMA's Punch,
who is hisor's manager from TDE, he did not like
the treatment that says A received from the MTV Video
Music Awards this year, and that's why she did not
perform she according to Punch, when he spoke to the
Hollywood Reporter, he said, obviously she had one of the
best years, that's a fact, if not the best year
(35:58):
of any artists. At this point, I don't see why
she wanted to be nominated for Artists of the Year.
It just really didn't make any sense to me. It's disrespectful,
and they ended up saying, okay, well we could do
another call because there were people on the call about
logistics for the show who didn't have anything to do
with the nominations. When we tried to set up the
second call, they didn't want to discuss Artists of the Year,
which to me was really a slap in the face.
Why wouldn't she be nominated for Artists of the Year
(36:21):
And Siza arguably had one of the best albums of
the year, the best tour, you know, and so on,
Fire on Fire sold out, so she absolutely, okay, absolutely should.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
Have been nominated. She did have a phenomenal year and
deserved it.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
And that is your yet And when we come back,
since it is a Monday and Mano Dish show up,
I'm always.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
Up Monday mayn Ovation.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
You wasn't up when we was texting you this morning.
All right, let's say what Mano has to say for
his Monday Manovation.
Speaker 3 (36:52):
The softer Mano. It's the way up, hey, yea, she
back at it, bringing.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Is on.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
Yes, it's with Angela Ye, I'm Angela ye and man
I is here.
Speaker 10 (37:07):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
Now it is a Monday, so you know it's time
for that Monday.
Speaker 17 (37:15):
No hesitation in any situation and Monday's moment. Manovation is
never ever, under any circumstances, make a permanent solution for
a temporary problem. Meaning we all going through things right now.
You know some more than others, but you know the
(37:36):
pain is it's necessary, but it is actually always temporary.
You're going through stuff right now and may you may
have money problems, you may have issues, but a lot
you're gonna get through it. Do not ever make a
permanent solution. Like and what I mean by that is
that my cousin, my real life cousin, committed suicide.
Speaker 10 (38:00):
He made a permanent solution. Well, whatever he was going through.
Speaker 17 (38:04):
I'm sorry, Yeah, this is many years ago, but and
I always think about that, and I always think about
when people going through things and how they feel, like
when they're going through money issues, they going through life issues,
and how they feel about that. And sometimes people just say, look,
I want to give up. Never give up under any circumstances.
I know it's rough, but it's temporary. You're going to
get through it. You will get through it.
Speaker 2 (38:24):
It's kind of like this too shall pass right in
the Bible, because whatever it is that we're going through.
It's temporary, like you said, and so you don't ever
want to do something that you can't reverse at a
time like that. And sometimes it's hard to see that
bigger picture because while you're in the middle of something,
you be thinking it's the worst thing in the world.
How am I ever going to make it through this?
You can't see past it.
Speaker 10 (38:46):
Right when I came home.
Speaker 17 (38:47):
Originally I went back on a valiation I had to
do a year, and everybody was like, man, it get
greater later. I didn't want to hear that. It felt
like the worst thing ever. It felt like, Man, I
got these rap dreams. I want to be out there,
I want to change my life to get into the industry.
Speaker 10 (39:01):
It's never going to happen. And I just looked at
it in a negative way.
Speaker 17 (39:05):
And then I realized that time was going to time,
life was going life, and it was gonna get passed.
Speaker 10 (39:10):
And then I woke up one day and it was over.
You know you're gonna get through it.
Speaker 2 (39:14):
Yeah, And the greatest rewards sometimes come after you've gone
through the worst things. I think for all of us,
we've been at a time where we feel like we're
at our lowest, and usually when you're at your lowest,
I always feel like that means something great is about
to happen.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
This is where you draw your strength as you get tested.
Speaker 17 (39:31):
Right, you get tested, you draw your your greatest strength from.
I like to say that you got to go through
hell and get to heaven sometimes.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
All right, Mano, we like today's Monday Manovas, and I
like your real life examples, you know, because I couldn't
imagine like the amount of time that you didn't then
to have to go back for a year when you
just came.
Speaker 10 (39:52):
Home right, felt like the worst thing ever.
Speaker 17 (39:55):
And then when you're going through something, it feels like
you can't it's just like the the most painful thing.
But like I tell the homies, I tell you know,
my people, and I tell people that I talk to,
it's gonna get You're gonna get back, You're gonna get
through it.
Speaker 2 (40:10):
I think nowadays the younger generation has it worse because
of social media. We didn't have that coming up, but
now everything we go through ends up being broadcasted everywhere
and people know about it, and then.
Speaker 10 (40:20):
People it magnifies it.
Speaker 2 (40:23):
Yeah, it makes it feel like it's even worse. And
sometimes you want to respond to everything. You know how
many times I done typed out something and then it
was like, you know what, I'm.
Speaker 3 (40:31):
Not even gonna do that.
Speaker 10 (40:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
Yeah, so many times I don't type out a response
because you know yourself, you know the truth, but other
people don't.
Speaker 3 (40:37):
But who are you trying to prove something to anyway?
Speaker 17 (40:39):
Right, you got right, and that's the thing. You're trying
to prove yourself to people that don't even care.
Speaker 3 (40:44):
Yeah, the people that want to see you break.
Speaker 10 (40:46):
And so yeah, gonna do say how dumb you was.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
After everything goes down, they be like, oh, you getting dummy?
Why would you do something like that? He was a
real dude, but yeah he was stupid decision. Meanwhile, the
other ones egging it on right, all right? What they
thank you for that Monday in Maynover is shunn.
Speaker 10 (41:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
And you know what's been through a lot Kirk and
Rashida Frost, between all the situations they've gone through.
Speaker 3 (41:08):
Publicly, they're still together.
Speaker 2 (41:10):
Though they are still together, Yeah, yeah, absolutely, because I mean, look,
I feel like everybody was weighing in on their relationship.
Speaker 3 (41:19):
Everybody had things to say.
Speaker 2 (41:20):
Everybody was feeling like, oh, she should leave him all this,
this and that, and now you get to see the
two of them working together on Love and Hip Hop.
They do show them working together, but they also have
their own show and sometimes you got to break off
and do your own thing for people to see the
real behind the scenes, because they're not going to show
just them and all of the entrepreneurial things that they're doing.
But she has boss moves that's on Filo and it's
(41:41):
season two of her show, so she's able to sit
down and have these conversations. We saw the cliff that
just went viral with Nelly talking about getting back together
with the Shanteam, so we've seen all of that. So
they're going to be joining us shortly. Kirk and Rashida
for us and be in the building. And honestly, it
was just Rashida at first, but then Kirk was you know,
he wanted to jump in and say what he's got
(42:02):
to say too, so we appreciate him for that. All right,
it's way up with Angela Yee Monday may Ovation Mano
made it into work. I was concerned. I was telling
you off, please go in Mayno's comments, make sure.
Speaker 3 (42:12):
He's all right.
Speaker 2 (42:13):
I wanted I wanted his stories. I was like, he
hasn't posted anything in eleven hours?
Speaker 3 (42:17):
Is he okay? But here you are.
Speaker 2 (42:18):
It's way up with Angela yee.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
You ride the way up.
Speaker 2 (42:25):
Yes, it's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela yee.
Mano is here no manor no man no. And listen
a lot of people are hitting me up saying they
really appreciated your Monday Manova shan today.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
Shout out to my girl Maria. Yeah. People who are
going through some things, shout of Marie.
Speaker 10 (42:40):
Yeah, we're all going through something.
Speaker 12 (42:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (42:42):
Sometimes you just need to know that it's not permanent, right,
and to see through to when.
Speaker 3 (42:47):
It's all behind us.
Speaker 10 (42:48):
We will get through it.
Speaker 3 (42:50):
M Mano.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
Quick question because you you strolled in here a little
late today to bed I fact, were you celebrating the
new single all weekend?
Speaker 9 (43:00):
Absolutely?
Speaker 3 (43:00):
I was celebrating all weekend for my city, for my city.
Speaker 10 (43:03):
Yes, yes, indeed.
Speaker 3 (43:04):
Man, all right, we're going to keep the celebration going.
You know what I do.
Speaker 10 (43:07):
No, you gotta stop, you have to stop.
Speaker 3 (43:11):
We got to keep the celebration going.
Speaker 1 (43:12):
No may not.
Speaker 3 (43:15):
I feel like that's a great song for like a sporting.
Speaker 17 (43:18):
Events everything and it applies to you know, everybody. Everybody
has hometown pride. Everybody feels good about where they're from.
It no matter if you're from New York or you're
from Saint Louis. You know you're from Detroit, you from
Philly or Chicago, you feel good about you know your city,
you feel good about where you grew up from, and
then you rep in your hometown.
Speaker 3 (43:36):
Team right, I feel like we need to send this
to the Barclays, like we need to figure this out.
Speaker 10 (43:41):
Yeah, we on that definitely.
Speaker 3 (43:42):
Well, Okay, let's see, let's see what we're doing. What
are we doing? All right?
Speaker 2 (43:47):
Well, we also have some a really fun interview coming
up now. This couple Rashida, Frost and Kirk. They always
give us a little something when they come up. I
haven't seen them in a while since I was on
the Breakfast Club, but I'm glad they showed up to
way up at the Angela.
Speaker 1 (44:01):
Yee.
Speaker 3 (44:02):
I love what they're doing. You know, they have a
lot of different businesses.
Speaker 2 (44:04):
Rashida has her store, she has the restaurant, real estate.
They have their show on Filo, but they're also on
Love and Hip Hop all right, so they have a
lot going on. So we're going to talk about how
they managed to do it as a couple. Can you
imagine being with your business partner day in and day out,
and then going to sleep with them at night too.
Speaker 10 (44:23):
And then going through other things like relationships.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
Stuff, yes, and going through business stuff. It's an argument,
all right. Well we're going to talk about it, Kirk
and Rashida Frost when we come back. It's way up
at Angela yee.
Speaker 1 (44:34):
Hey, yeah, she back at it?
Speaker 3 (44:42):
Al is on what's up this way up at Angela? Yee?
I'm Angela yee.
Speaker 2 (44:45):
Jasmine Brand is here and our girl Rashida is here,
and Kirk is here too, Kirk rus you know, and
work stuff. Well, let's talk about every single thing that
y'all have going on right now, because it's certainly, like,
I mean, besides the music career, then love and hip
hop Atlanta, right, and then you have your own show,
(45:06):
all right, Boss Music season two now on Filo, Yes,
all right, season two on Filo. But then you have Press,
yes all right, and then you also have Frost's bestro yes, okay,
what a oh yeah?
Speaker 3 (45:20):
So when do you take breaks from each other or
do you ever? We don't really take breaks.
Speaker 9 (45:25):
Well, Rashida got a whole life that she does.
Speaker 3 (45:28):
I don't be nowhere, don't say that, don't do that.
Speaker 13 (45:33):
That sounds like some mother.
Speaker 11 (45:34):
I mean, she do a whole bunch of girly stuff.
And I'm like, we having a house right now for
my kids and do other stuff. So we don't get
to be around each other as much as people think.
But Rashida be going off with me a lot too.
So we take breaks because I was like, oh, no.
Speaker 19 (45:52):
Feelings that day, and I'm sitting here like, you can't
be mad at me for a mistake, Bro, you didn't
do it.
Speaker 9 (45:57):
I'm not the typer. I'm not to send those emails.
Speaker 10 (46:00):
No, I'm not.
Speaker 11 (46:00):
I'm not real thorough with that. I'm physical. She's that part.
That's why all my stuff be done. Like it's her
not filing the paperwork.
Speaker 13 (46:09):
Was your fault.
Speaker 19 (46:10):
Okay, just listen, hear me out. Dang it, you started this, Angela, listen,
hear me out. Okay, So where the restaurant is. It's
you know, you dealing with the city of Atlanta. But
what we didn't know is you also have to deal
with historic preservation. Okay, we didn't know that we had
to go and file separate paperwork because you had never
(46:30):
done that before. We had never done it before, so
I didn't know that's what happened. Now I could see
if it was something I knew and I just was
negligent or just was like, you know, really dropped the
ball in that sense.
Speaker 13 (46:41):
But I didn't know.
Speaker 19 (46:42):
And that's where the argument came in, because I'm like,
you're getting mad at me and your ass didn't know.
Speaker 13 (46:46):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (46:47):
So people, but you know, it's cool.
Speaker 19 (46:50):
I take the l it's fine, but at the end
of the day, let's just do what we need to
do to get back.
Speaker 3 (46:55):
On our feet.
Speaker 19 (46:55):
I will say this too, just since you want to
be talking jump. He wants me to be his assistance.
I'm too busy, but I do.
Speaker 3 (47:06):
She's growing and you're growing to right, But this is
the that mean it's a hiring assistant.
Speaker 2 (47:10):
And I thought that's one of your boss tips that
you got to delegate that responsibility.
Speaker 13 (47:14):
She is some boss tip that I have. It's a
hard boss tip. We need one, but it's hard.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
It is, it is, it's really sometimes having the wrong
assistant could be more work.
Speaker 13 (47:25):
No, it could be somebody.
Speaker 3 (47:28):
Yeah, you know, I'm.
Speaker 2 (47:29):
Here with Jasmin Brand and we are talking to Kirk
and Rashida Frost.
Speaker 13 (47:32):
What's the best part of being together this long?
Speaker 11 (47:34):
The best part for me and being together this long?
I mean, I'm being honest. You know, somebody really got
your bag, you know, you really can. You know, like
Rashida's went to my bank account and wide three hundred
grand and put a deposit down and she ain't even
on my account. Stuff Like, oh yeah, the banks, you know.
But the best part is really, yeah, you got a
(47:56):
real friend. You ain't got no second guessing.
Speaker 3 (47:59):
She's not gonna land to you. Tell you that happened.
Speaker 2 (48:02):
Two people break up and they'd be like, well he
was little and he's what's.
Speaker 3 (48:09):
Your favorite part about being married this long?
Speaker 19 (48:12):
I just feel so secure I can say I know
what a soulmate feels like for real, you know what
I mean. So it's like, yes, we go through our
ups and downs and we've you know, you deal with
a lot, especially being married twenty three years.
Speaker 13 (48:26):
How can you not You're gonna go through it.
Speaker 4 (48:29):
You know.
Speaker 19 (48:29):
But I will say the beautiful part about it, which
people may not think it's beautiful, but when you go
through certain things in a relationship. Sometimes it can like
break it down or it can make it stronger. And
a lot of things that we've been through have made
us so much more stronger. Like our communication, like I
gotta you know, I gotta bring it. We had like
a bad dass argument like about a week ago, right
(48:52):
a week or two ago, and we about an hour
later we had like a whole real like communication conversation
of like why did you say this?
Speaker 13 (49:01):
Why do you feel like that? And that's real growth
for real.
Speaker 19 (49:05):
Because for us it is because it's like a lot
of times you argue and then you get on some
petty for real, and we was hitting below the bill.
Speaker 3 (49:11):
What's I don't do anything?
Speaker 9 (49:14):
You know, everything you leave on me? And then I'm like,
I built.
Speaker 11 (49:18):
Press, I built Frost b Stroup, I built Houston, I
built the house you live in.
Speaker 9 (49:23):
You the deck, going to.
Speaker 19 (49:25):
Sit here and go down a list of what you
do and me go down at it's like a tit
for tech compared to keep a score.
Speaker 11 (49:31):
She does her part. That's why it work. Good is
a plus day and night. If you're gonna if we're gonna,
if we're gonna alter that, then you know, then like
I told, I said, seriously, if we at the point
where we want to chill and just let everything kind
of chill, then that means you ready to retire, like
I am, right, So let's just get ahead and sell
off a few things. Let's make sure we pay for
this other property, and we could sit at home and
(49:52):
chill and not argue, because if we're gonna continue to go,
then we gotta be go hard because we can't afford
to lose because we got a lot on the lint.
So sometimes I understand she stretched. I understand she's tired.
So in Mi, we've been we got you know, I
have older kids and Rashida's definitely look for me. And
my kids got kids, so we're trying to make sure
they're good as well, because if not, they've come right
(50:14):
back to us. So let's we're in the middle of
getting them set up right now, like fixing nails. Let's
make sure we complete that and then the home wind
because my wife wants to live a certain kind of way. Okay,
I now have a mortgage again, So now I'm like, well,
let's hustle and knock it all because I'm ready to chill, all.
Speaker 2 (50:31):
Right, Kirk and Rashida Frost are here with us. We're
talking about bus moves on Fialo. The new season has started.
All so love and hip Hop also all of the
things that they have going on as a couple and
as business partners.
Speaker 3 (50:42):
It's way Up with Angela Yee more when we come back.
Speaker 1 (50:48):
Yeah, she back at it. Bring in the We Up
with Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (50:52):
Is on what's up this Way up with Angela ye
I'm here, Jasmine Brand is here and we're talking to
Kirk and Rashida Frost.
Speaker 3 (50:58):
Let me ask you this.
Speaker 2 (50:59):
Have you ever wanted to just get off of Love
and Hip Hop or is that something that you feel like, Okay.
Speaker 19 (51:05):
I mean well, not to say it like that, but
like everything comes to an end. Yeah, And the clock
is ticking because sometimes when you're going through things that
are really stressful and then people are watching the weighing
in and it might be like I don't even want
to do this no more, Like.
Speaker 13 (51:17):
I only have that feeling.
Speaker 3 (51:19):
Why do you guys keep coming back?
Speaker 11 (51:20):
First of all, we're contract, that's number one contract. So
we're definitely in our last season heading here, you know,
and sometimes things are promised to you, they are not
always the way they seem to be because you know,
we look for growth, you know, and then sometimes the
audience ain't ready for growth, and they got to stick
(51:41):
to a certain script and that makes it a little harder.
Speaker 9 (51:43):
But do I love loving hip hop? Yes? I do.
Speaker 19 (51:46):
For me, is like, if you understand it and make
the right moves, you gotta deal with the positive and
the negative of anything.
Speaker 13 (51:53):
For me, I totally agree.
Speaker 19 (51:55):
I say, you know, it has been an amazing platform
for us. But once we in, I would say season
two is when we kind of realized.
Speaker 11 (52:06):
I want to be the old cheese, like I want
us to be the ones who could they can come to.
I don't want to be the one who has to
always like be in the fire, like my ass been
lit so bad, Like I was building Rashida as an
artist so long, to tougher her up and not have
to have thick skin and this and that I never
prepared myself to keep in mind, ten years of our marriage,
they didn't even know she was married, and Mona exposed that.
(52:28):
You know, so I was a secret for ten years.
People don't think about it. I don't know how many
men would even be a secret to be married for
ten years and I don't know how many women would
even like that's crazy.
Speaker 7 (52:39):
But that's what I was, right.
Speaker 11 (52:41):
So I dealt with that and people got to you know,
they might say stuff a lot of times, but I
feel like at this point I'm ready to like, you know,
just be the o G.
Speaker 2 (52:50):
I don't want to buy It's amazing that show. Yes,
it's amazing to show how you can help other entrepreneurs
and highlight other people who are doing positive things. Some
people will act like they don't No one wants to
see that blah, but I think we do. I'm here
with Jasmin Brandon and we are talking to Kirk and
Rashida Frost. All right now, You've also been having some
moments already on the show.
Speaker 3 (53:11):
Just on the preview with Nelly. You got right to
it this media personality.
Speaker 13 (53:17):
I know, that's right.
Speaker 3 (53:18):
Did she didn't play? She got right to it.
Speaker 19 (53:22):
We wanted to know the tea honey, no, no, But
like I was saying earlier today, I was like, you know,
we've known Nelly for so long, and when we asked
him to come on, you know, we just.
Speaker 12 (53:32):
Kept it, like kept it.
Speaker 3 (53:34):
Everybody wanted to.
Speaker 13 (53:35):
Say, Yeah, I'm gonna say about it.
Speaker 2 (53:39):
Thank you, And it's quite obvious like he just hasn't
they haven't ready, He just hadn't, you know.
Speaker 3 (53:45):
He was my lesson.
Speaker 11 (53:47):
I was happy because we said we had okay, it
was fifty years of hip hop and I was like, okay,
so let's just get some people. Let's get JD and
let's hit Nelly and something something something. So we were
just really thinking we're gonna talk about the hip hop.
And Rashida did that to him. I felt. I was like, hey, oh,
come on. But he took it so well and he
was so happy about it, and I was taking a
(54:10):
look at him. I was like, wait a minute, really, and.
Speaker 2 (54:15):
You've been getting to ask questions all the time that
you have to, and you take it on the strikes, right.
Speaker 19 (54:20):
He's an artist, he's been doing it a long time.
He knows exactly, you know.
Speaker 3 (54:25):
He happy.
Speaker 1 (54:26):
Yes.
Speaker 13 (54:27):
You know which I didn't hear was all the after conversation.
Speaker 19 (54:33):
We've been together for a hundred years, so everybody always
ask us stuff.
Speaker 2 (54:37):
Bro, But listen, they're telling me, you guys have to
get going. But who else is on bus moves this season?
Speaker 3 (54:41):
Who on bust?
Speaker 9 (54:42):
Okay?
Speaker 13 (54:42):
So we did nearly. We did Jermaine.
Speaker 10 (54:47):
Girl episode coming.
Speaker 9 (54:48):
It's crazy. So the good stuff coming up is Mona
is coming up.
Speaker 11 (54:51):
We get to flip the tables and ask the stuff
that people be wanting to see. And then the girlfriend
episode is all the girls Rashida hunck Pack and they
get to take you into like a little secret place
with the girls.
Speaker 9 (55:02):
So those are going to be two amazing episodes.
Speaker 13 (55:04):
It's fun, it's been it's been great.
Speaker 2 (55:06):
Okay, Well, I'm happy for you and I'm so glad
you came up here. You've been on the schedule for
a minute.
Speaker 3 (55:11):

in common, like I said, so.
Speaker 13 (55:14):
It's just nice to have you when you come to
a landa together.
Speaker 3 (55:16):
Oh listen, we're going to frost speech.

Speaker 19 (55:48):

You should know this question. You can call us up
right now. Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty
for ask ye.
Speaker 3 (56:30):
Hello, who's this? Hi?
Speaker 20 (56:32):
This is cam So.
Speaker 3 (56:33):
What is your question for? Ask ye?
Speaker 20 (56:36):
How am I supposed to get over somebody even though
I'm already in a new relationship. I can't get over
my ex?
Speaker 3 (56:42):
Why did you break up with your ex?
Speaker 20 (56:44):
I think there was some infidelity going on in our relationship.
He swears it didn't happen, but I did catch him
on some because I kind of did some crazy stuff.
Speaker 3 (56:53):
But like, what crazy stuff did you do?
Speaker 20 (56:56):
I planted a recording device.
Speaker 2 (57:00):
That's so hard to ever for both of you now
to trust each other. Yeah, and what did you hear?
Because it's not just as suspected you heard?
Speaker 13 (57:08):
Well, I found I heard him multiple people, so well.
I knew what was happening.
Speaker 7 (57:13):
That was why I did it.
Speaker 20 (57:14):
I know what was wrong, and it was one hundred
percent wrong.
Speaker 13 (57:17):
I should never have done that.
Speaker 5 (57:17):
It was a major in privacy for sure.
Speaker 20 (57:19):
But I got what I needed from it, unfortunately, and
I tried moving on. He wanted to convince you that
we can do counseling and things like that.
Speaker 2 (57:29):
And so he admitted that he did those things that
you heard. Or is he still acting that?
Speaker 3 (57:33):
Okay, what's the sense of doing all that?
Speaker 10 (57:36):
Right?
Speaker 17 (57:36):
You put the device, you heard him doing what he
was doing, But yet you still want to.
Speaker 10 (57:40):
Be with them.
Speaker 2 (57:41):
Though I didn't know, she didn't know she was going
to still have these feelings.
Speaker 3 (57:45):
How long has it been.
Speaker 13 (57:47):
Since that's happened? Since July?
Speaker 2 (57:49):
Okay, and she's still not over it. Do you believe
him though, when he says that he'll change, and.
Speaker 20 (57:55):
I do, because I mean, I don't know if he'll
be able to ever fully change. But our love for
each other was unconditional. And although it hurt me really
bad to find out those things like, I still love
them and I still care about him so much, And
that's what's the that's the issue.
Speaker 3 (58:11):
Do you feel like you could trust him?
Speaker 20 (58:14):
I do think that I can trust him, but also
I'm going to have to have some reassurance too.
Speaker 2 (58:20):
I think that he has a lot to prove to you,
and you should not say, well, my love for you
is unconditional no matter what you do, because that's not true.
Speaker 3 (58:30):
Right.
Speaker 2 (58:30):
If he continues to do these things and betray your trust,
it doesn't feel like it's something that you are willing
to overlook and be okay with. So you guys need
to establish some guidelines. And I wouldn't jump back into anything.
I think a lot of times people show you who
they are. You just have to give it some time.
So if he really is honestly trying to make this
happen and do whatever it takes and go above and beyond.
(58:52):
Then you can decide what to do in the meantime.
You shouldn't be in a relationship if you're not over
your ex.
Speaker 1 (58:57):
See, and that's my issue.
Speaker 5 (58:58):
It's like I was young.
Speaker 20 (59:00):
I'm like, oh, I know that I'm over it, Like
I won't have to go back to him, like I don't.
I still love him, I care about him, but I'm
gonna love you from a distance type mm hmm. And
then he realized that, you know, a couple of months
go by, that he's not finding somebody else like me
or what he looks form not homosexual standpoint of course,
but like compatibility wise and love or whatever. So I
(59:24):
moved on and then you know the state the drill
goes once you move on.
Speaker 10 (59:28):
They they're like, oh, right, I think you should. You
should spend the block.
Speaker 2 (59:35):
I think just take your time. I think take your time.
You know, he's got to still prove it to you.
Speaker 3 (59:39):
So there's no.
Speaker 20 (59:41):
Even though it's only been two months with this new relationship, right,
he's very much so like very involved with me and
and wants to love me and is committed to thinking.
Speaker 12 (59:51):
That I'm in, but I'm already not over my ex,
so I don't know.
Speaker 2 (59:55):
Well, listen, the first thing is, but this man, it
feels like he might have been a rebound situation for you. Yeah,
and so the best thing you can do for him,
You would want somebody to be honest with you, So
the best thing that you can do for him is
tell him, Look, I'm still going through things. I'm still
you know, hurting from my previous relationship, and I don't
(01:00:16):
feel like it's fair to you for me to even
pursue this with you right now, So hopefully we can
remain friends. I don't know what's going to happen in
the future, but I'm just being honest because that's what
I would win.
Speaker 3 (01:00:27):
And just rip that band aid off there right, let him.
Speaker 10 (01:00:29):
Go and go get that old thing.
Speaker 2 (01:00:31):
Back, and then as far as the old thing, take
your time, go work on yourself, do things that you
need to do for you, whatever it is.
Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
Be strong for yourself.
Speaker 2 (01:00:39):
You know, you're not relying on anybody to complete you,
but what you do need is somebody that can compliment
you and what you have going on.
Speaker 10 (01:00:46):
Right right, go get that old thing back. A little
bit of.
Speaker 3 (01:00:49):
Cheating it's don't do that.
Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
But you know, I think time will tell if you're
serious or not if and then you might get into
it and be like, I don't trust him at all.
Speaker 3 (01:00:56):
I can't live like this.
Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
I can't be wondering what he's doing when he's as
he's doing this, or he'll be doing all in the
right things. And then you can be like, Okay, now
I feel comfortable enough that we can attempt this, but
give yourself some time in space.
Speaker 20 (01:01:10):
Yeah, okay, well, thank you, so all right.
Speaker 2 (01:01:13):
Good luck than you, great day you too. All right,
Well that was ask you. Eight hundred two nine fifty
one fifty is the number. In case you couldn't getrough,
you could always leave a message and Mano and I
will pick it up from there, right and when we
come back. Last word, you guys always have the last word.
Today is no different. Okay, it's way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 4 (01:01:30):
Take up the phone taping to get your voice heard
with the word is here's the last word on way
up with Angela Ye?
Speaker 3 (01:01:39):
What's up this way? You put Angela yee.
Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
I'm Angela Yee and new Mano Maya's in the building.
Make sure I run up that for my city.
Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
That new Mano song.
Speaker 2 (01:01:48):
I know we're going to have a challenge coming. Sometimes
I feel like I want to take part. You want
to do it, I'm gonna do my part.
Speaker 10 (01:01:53):
Wrap on Mano feature Angela Lee.
Speaker 2 (01:01:56):
Yeah, Angela Lee, Angela Le Yeah. It sounds like a superhero.
All right, Let's see what I.
Speaker 3 (01:02:00):
Come up with.
Speaker 2 (01:02:01):
You know what I'm saying. But anyway, thank you so
much for that Monday maynovation. I know that helped a
lot of people.
Speaker 1 (01:02:06):
What was it again?
Speaker 10 (01:02:07):
Man? Don't make a temporary solution for uh?
Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
To make a permanent.
Speaker 10 (01:02:10):
Solution for a temporary issue.
Speaker 2 (01:02:13):
Absolutely all right, And also thank you to Kirk and
Rashida for us for joining us today to talk about
their show Boss Move. Season two has already come out
on Filo, so you can start catching up on those episodes.
And of course you know they're on Love and Hip
Hop Atlanta. They have a lot of entrepreneurial things going on.
I always admire things like that. That's right, so we
love to see it. And again we talked about, you know,
(01:02:36):
a potential pick aside for tomorrow when things are happening
negative in the community and in hip hop, do we
want to address those things, or do you think it's
for the best that we don't address it at all
because we don't ever want to feed into the negativity
and the beef that's going on.
Speaker 3 (01:02:52):
I'll put more light on it by putting.
Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
More light on it, so let us know what you
guys think. Even though some people might feel like, well,
we want to know what's happening, we want you guys
to report on it, but not take a side in
that situation. Do we have a responsibility to report what's
happening so you know, or do we ignore those things
because it's too negative and we don't even want to
focus on it. We want to see what you think,
So tomorrow get ready to answer that question. You can
(01:03:14):
also leave it for last word because you guys always
have the last word. Again, that number is eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty. Make sure y'all stream
that may sure y'all buy my coffee coffee other people.
Speaker 10 (01:03:26):
And it's in target.
Speaker 3 (01:03:27):
It's a target and.
Speaker 2 (01:03:28):
We are trying to stay on those target shelves.
Speaker 3 (01:03:30):
You can go, look, I'm going to talk.
Speaker 10 (01:03:32):
I'm ana film it when I go to talk. And
I never drink coffee in my life.
Speaker 2 (01:03:35):
We're going to have the Delungei machinery here some of
this week and a daylight today. Coffee would have been
great for you, really, yes, you'll be wide awake.
Speaker 10 (01:03:43):
Well what kind of coffee like?
Speaker 3 (01:03:45):
Is it just black or is it for you? I
would probably you like hot chocolate. I would do a
mocha for you.
Speaker 10 (01:03:50):
Mocha, what's in that?
Speaker 2 (01:03:51):
It tastes like a hot chocolate? It has real chocolate
in it. So yes, all right, make sure you're stream
for my city. It's way up with Angela.
Speaker 12 (01:03:59):

couple of years. I was getting cheated on within our
last year. So when I found out about it, I

my fault. I found out I knew this girl, so
