guys something I can't believe I'm here at work today.
We had a time now. Mano of course made his
grand entrance later at the event. But Jasmine and I
went up on the stage early on early. We were
early in on time, on time, and everybody was like,
(00:44):
where's Maino.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
They definitely were asking where's Maino.
Speaker 5 (00:49):
He wasn't there. I was like, when I say now,
you say Meno.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
And then we had a FaceTime him be like where
are you Main you were you.
Speaker 5 (00:58):
Are freshman fit.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
You know, you know how he's got to do. But
shout out to everybody who came out for Angela ye day.
We'll talk more about that in about last night. One
of the artists who performed Maca Diamond is going to
be joining us today, Makadocis and we were also at
the Simpson right after that and maca Diamond was there
as well. But she's an amazing performer. She's been in
this business for thirty over thirty years, wow, and she's
(01:23):
an amazing performer. She's got hits and she's got a
lot of things to say about this business, about being
a woman, about who macadocious is. That's her all to
ego that she created. But you know, when people try
to throw her, she has some good comebacks and then
here she is still killing it on the stage with
them muloops.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
Those were legendary.
Speaker 6 (01:42):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, y.
Speaker 5 (01:45):
We had some moments.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
The sty babies were there with you babies. Listen, they
were like maatos outside with twenty two people.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
Need risbands.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
I'm like maino.
Speaker 6 (01:59):
My office.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
We don't even want to let me talk about that
in a minute now I heard about that, okay, all right,
But in the meantime, we do want to make sure
that we shine a light when we come back. Eight
hundred nine two fifty one fifty is the number. Who
do you guys want to show some love to? Who
do you want to shine a light on? You know,
I got like a million people I want to shine
a light on today. But I'm gonna keep it focused,
all right. It's way up put the angela ye shine
(02:21):
a light on him is.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Next, sham. Turn your lights on, y'all. It spreading love
to those who are doing greatness.
Speaker 6 (02:29):
Light, shine the light on.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
It's time to shine a light on them.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Yes, it's way yup. Put Angela ye, Angela yee. Jasmine
Brand is here.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
Yes, I'm here.
Speaker 5 (02:40):
Good morning, Mano is here.
Speaker 6 (02:42):
That's right, all right.
Speaker 5 (02:45):
We were all at.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
Ye Day yesterday, Angela ye Day. Shout out to DJ
Nick Navy.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
Is it official? Nick Navy?
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Ubody? No Nick Navy, because we don't wanted to get
confused with okay. He was DJing no, yes, killed it.
Speaker 5 (03:00):
My guy.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
DJ Dangles was dancing and showing people all the dances
to do, while Nick Navy was djaying right Navy.
Speaker 6 (03:07):
He didn't speak to me when I came in. I
didn't see him. I looked all over for let's talk
about it.
Speaker 5 (03:12):
Let's get into that sure, And then shout out to Dan.
He was there.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
He was coming straight from the Chance to Rapper concert
at the Bclay Fancy the day before, and he posted
pictures with Chance the Rapper and he ain't never posted
no picture with me because.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
He don't care about you. He ran straight to that food.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
Angela shout out to Negrill for catering the food. Now
listen for Angela y D.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Though I do want to shine a light on somebody
who has consistently come through, and that is John Bunn. Yes,
you know, John Bunn was there yesterday And if you
don't know his story, he was wrongfully convicted of a
murder when he was only fourteen years old, and then
he spent sixteen years in prison and nearly twelve years
on parole, and then he did get exonerated in twenty eighteen.
(03:53):
And so he does have a nonprofit that is based
on educating incarcerated youth and also providing access to books.
So that's how we really linked up. You know, his
love of books and mind and education and all of that.
But every time he comes through and he really helps
us out. He gave away some exonerated t shirt. You
could see Scarlett is wearing one of them on his page.
But you guys showed John Bunn some love because he definitely,
(04:17):
you know, is trying to make sure he does positive things.
Because imagine going to prison from when you're fourteen years
old for something you didn't even do.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
I can't imagine having that experience. Coming out and still
being a good person and giving back. That's what's crazy,
because that would be better mad at.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
The world, So it's easy to fall in up.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
Yeah, it's an amazing human being.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
But he did manage to clear his conviction, you know,
so I just am glad about that. So shout out
to you, John Bunn. We appreciate you, and of course
we would love for you guys to shine a light.
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty is a number.
Let's pread some love. It's the Brooklyn Way.
Speaker 5 (04:50):
Crystal, How are you crazy?
Speaker 7 (04:53):
I'm doing good this morning.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
How are you?
Speaker 5 (04:55):
I'm good? Thank you. Would you like to shine a
light on?
Speaker 7 (04:58):
I want to shiny a light on.
Speaker 5 (04:59):
My man.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
My man, my man, my man, my man.
Speaker 5 (05:04):
Yes, okay, talk about it.
Speaker 8 (05:06):
So it ain't always been easy for him, just like
everybody else. I feel like he's misunderstood a lot, you know,
and no matter what, he's just always striving to be
a better man, to stay present and active in his
son's life, even though you know him and his son's
mother and him are not together anymore.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
Okay, he loves his family, you.
Speaker 7 (05:24):
Know, and no matter what, and no matter who tries
to stand against this man. He is always just pushing,
trying to stay positive, and he's just always going. You know,
can how they say you can't walk a mile of
my shoes. There's a lot of people, you know, they
just wouldn't be able to walk a mile in his shoes.
But he straps and babies up and he keeps it
pushing ten comes down. So I just admire that because
it's hard out here.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
All right, Well, that's great. I love the fact that
you want to shine a light a young man. People
be having so many issues and it's nice to see
some love.
Speaker 7 (05:53):
Oh yeah, and don't get we got an issue, get
on the nerves, I get on his bay. We keep
it traight, We keep it and we.
Speaker 9 (05:59):
Keep it positive.
Speaker 10 (06:00):
That's our job, exactly exactly.
Speaker 5 (06:02):
All right, Well, thank.
Speaker 10 (06:03):
You, thank you, have a good day.
Speaker 5 (06:06):
All right.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
That was shine a light on him eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one fifty in case you didn't get
through and wanted to leave a message for last word
and shine a light on somebody. And when we come back,
we have yee t. Now I'm gonna tell you all
this Mano and Jasmine have had this ongoing bet and
it looks like Keiky Palmer and Darius Jackson are back
together again, even though people thought they broke up. Will
(06:26):
tell you about it. And yet it's way up at
Angela yee. I'm a mother, it says in.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
The rooms from Industry Shade to all of gosp out,
Angela's speeling that.
Speaker 5 (06:36):
Yet it's way up at Angela.
Speaker 11 (06:40):
Yee.
Speaker 5 (06:40):
I'm Angela yee. And Mano is here. No, man, let's go,
let's get into some y eat. Wait a minute, what
about me? I'm just give me.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
I'm so forgettable even no even Nick looked like, I
can't believe Angela forgot about me. Okay, let's let's all right.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Well, Kicky Palmer and Darius Jackson they have a kid together.
They have reunited, and it looks like that breakup was
just a rumor. Remember, people felt like they had broken up,
and we're saying he moved out, and he even said
I never said that anywhere, and so now they're saying
that the two of them are ready to you know,
he said he never spoke to anyone or approved anyone
(07:22):
to speak for him about them breaking up, and she
had a fuel to the fire. She actually was in
Usher's video for his new song boyfriend, and so some
fans felt like, Nope, you shouldn't do that. Other people
were like, uh, why not. Why wouldn't you take advantage
of that? But it looks like the two of them
are at least on good terms or better terms. They
were hanging out for her birthday.
Speaker 6 (07:43):
Okay, I think they really broke up. I think that
she just gave him an ultimatum and said, listen, boy.
Speaker 5 (07:48):
Okay, I don't know if you see her, but sat
down and got his name.
Speaker 6 (07:52):
Yeah, sat him down. So I'm gonna get this tattoo.
You're gonna shut up and play your position. We won't
get this money.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
You create that whole little story.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
Listen, She's gonna get this money regardless, you know what.
Speaker 6 (08:05):
And that's my point. Either go be a part of
it or you're gonna be out the whip.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Well, she had on a thong and underneath it was
a tattoo of her man's birth date, just below.
Speaker 5 (08:15):
The right butt cheek.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
So I was right, Angela, Yeah, it.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
Looks like Mano has to wear the same underwear for
a week.
Speaker 6 (08:21):
Cap.
Speaker 5 (08:21):
According to this.
Speaker 6 (08:22):
Cap cap, I already won the bet, so stop it.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
Here is what they were saying on their Instagram Live
so tell she was talking about Burgos.
Speaker 12 (08:30):
I don't believe the hype. They are one of the
biggest spokesperson for themselves.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
But you don't believe the hockey.
Speaker 12 (08:36):
But you are. Really it's because my mom's a Virgo,
my brother's a Burger, my best friends a Burgo, my
grandma's a Virgo partner in crimes of Virgo.
Speaker 6 (08:46):
So it's just like, admit that Burgos are the ones.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
It's already too late and Burgo already has hooks.
Speaker 5 (08:53):
I'm gonna go with Capricorns.
Speaker 6 (08:55):
Go, we gonna stay with We don't got to say.
That's not even important. But what I'm saying is, I
wonder bet it is what it is. She gave him
a ultimatum, and that's what happened. How do you know
that it trusts me? I read energy?
Speaker 4 (09:10):
You read energy from your phone?
Speaker 6 (09:12):
Yes, I looked in his eyes.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
Okay, all right, Well, speaking of which a basketball wives start,
Jennifer Williams has gotten engaged to her boyfriend, Yeah, Christian Goald.
Congratulations to the two of them. What's his name, Christian,
Christian Goals. He's an investor. Nice and so some specifics
regarding the engagement are confidential, but individuals say that it
(09:37):
was a sincere and personal event, and the precise place
and data the proposal are not publicly disclosed.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
Which means basketball wives will be airing it.
Speaker 6 (09:46):
Yeah she was married before, right, Yes she was.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
I was actually in that wedding. Oh right, will you
be in Wait.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
A minute, will you be a brosemate again?
Speaker 3 (09:54):
I don't know what's going on with this wedding yet,
but I did know in advance that this all happened.
We're in a group to that's your friend, right, you
went to school together. Yeah, yeah, shout out the Sennier. Yeah,
congratulations to her. And she posted the ring and put
future missus.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
Look at that watch. That's a beautiful watch. I know
that really is pretty too. Is that a what do
you call that kind of diamond princess? No, that's not
hair drop pair.
Speaker 6 (10:18):
How long they've been How long they've been together?
Speaker 3 (10:22):
It's been a few I actually met him when I
was in Atlanta. We were all eating at Del Frisco's.
That's the first time I met him, and I didn't. Yeah,
I think that was.
Speaker 6 (10:30):
Early on a few years.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
Are you judging, MANA.
Speaker 5 (10:36):
I can't wait till Cupid hits man over.
Speaker 6 (10:38):
It might be tomorrow, you never know, could be.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
And DC Young Fly has unveiled a massive back tattoo
of Jackie.
Speaker 5 (10:45):
Oh so he posted.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
He posted a picture and he said, we in this
together and forever, my angel, my baby, my wife, the
queen of my children. I wish there was a reset
button and maybe a lot of things we don't want
to do, but we are forced to do. We must
continue on with the mission. But God has granted us
all the strength. They must continue to give praise to
the Most High through the midst of pain. Okay, it's
beautiful tattoo. Yes, we love us some DC Young flyes.
(11:08):
And lastly, it looks like Bill Murray and Kalise have
broken up.
Speaker 6 (11:13):
They were together. I was ruined for them, like man,
that was it couple goals.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
It was a whirlwind two month romance and they decided
to go their separate ways. They said it naturally reached
its conclusion their relationship.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
I love it in the early you know why drag
it out.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
Have fun two months out?
Speaker 6 (11:32):
Huh?
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Okay, and listen, you know Coalise has been through a lot.
She did lose her husband to cancer last year.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
So that they seem like an odd couple to me.
I don't know either one of them, but they seem
like an odd couple.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
That's what makes a great couple when they probably just like,
all right, well that is your yet. And when we
come back, we have about last night and you know
what we're talking about. We was all at Angela ye Day.
We're gonna discuss it. There was some fun highlights behind
the scenes.
Speaker 5 (11:56):
We're gonna let you in. It's way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
So about last night last night, last night, Yes, I
went down.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
It's way up at Angela Yee, Angela Yee. And Jasmine
is here.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
I'm here, Angela got that name.
Speaker 6 (12:15):
That drop still came late.
Speaker 4 (12:16):
Angela forgot about me earlier.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
Mano's here and let's talk about last night. It was
Angela Yee day yesterday. Now I'm gonna tell you how
I started off the day. I did a five k
run with Chelsea Piers. I have my own running club
run with run with ye. That was it's a little
more than three miles.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
I always thought the k meant miles like I always
thought it was five k was five miles.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
I didn't know that, all right, Yes, and so we
started up at the Chelsea Piers in downtown Brooklyn. We
ran to my coffee shop, Coffee uplifts people and then
after that run, I came back to the house right
in the shower, got makeup done and went to Angela
Yee day off to the runnings. Let me tell you something.
I'm exhausted, but we had an amazing day yesterday, and
I do want to think everybody that came out.
Speaker 5 (13:01):
It was a lot of work that went into this,
but this was at the Barclays.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
And I do want to also point out that there
is a philanthropic story behind this too, because the reason
why we do this with the Social Justice Fund, and
that fund is run by Clara and Joe Wu Si
and they're the owners of the Brooklyn Nets and the
Barclays and the New York Liberty. But part of what
(13:27):
they do is they have a fund, the Social Justice Fund,
and that fund has money that actually goes towards different things,
and this year it was for black maternal health care
in Brooklyn.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
We love we care about that.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
You know, black mothers are nine times more likely to
die of pregnancy related complications than they're white counterparts, and
that is because of inequities and maternal health care access
and quality. So they're actually donating twenty five thousand dollars
to four different organizations who are dedicated to providing these services.
Nice and so the organizations were all part of Angela
Guide Day. So I want to say that first and foremost.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Yes, that's sup. That's a super important cause.
Speaker 5 (14:03):
Yes, and so there were a lot of free things
that happened throughout the day.
Speaker 13 (14:08):
All right.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
We saw face painting and a lot of the kids
had their face and arms painted. We saw handed tattoos
we did. We saw people get in their haircuts. We
did also hair braiding. Shout out to my girl Destiny Snapple. Yep,
Snapper was there. Also there was an ice cream truck
with free ice cream for everybody. There was just a
lot of really fun things.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
The Army.
Speaker 5 (14:28):
That's because you got there, like the US Army was there.
You got there a little late.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
Mano, We're not gonna so can I just say really
quick what what Mano told a security person?
Speaker 5 (14:38):
Please?
Speaker 4 (14:38):
Don Mano came late, right, which is Mano Mayo came
with a million people. There weren't enough bands. Mano comes
inside the sports secuity Lady looks at Mano's like she
stops him, like, hey, where's your wristband? And Mainos tells her,
I don't mean, I don't mean no disrespect, but I
don't give up beep about a wristband. It isn't my
(15:00):
outfit and continues.
Speaker 6 (15:01):
To walk off, so rude match my outfit. Out of
asks for three or four of them, I had orange on.
Speaker 5 (15:07):
Like she was like my outfit off with She was like,
no problem, go ahead.
Speaker 6 (15:12):
Go aheads out here in the world. We worried about.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
Wristbands come anyway, but I just want to, you know again,
shout out to everybody.
Speaker 5 (15:20):
Jah Jazz African Hair Braiding.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
They're giving free tickets to the Broadway so I will
graduate every year.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
They come out as well the New York Public Library.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
And then we also gave away free backpacks with school supplies,
coloring books, and that was from the Lare Foundation and
Life Wellness Center was giving out free massages and that's
the place I always tell.
Speaker 5 (15:38):
Meno to go get his acupuncture. It'll calm him down,
it will, you know.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
You know, you know what I wanted to do yesterday
that I didn't get a chance to do, was I
wanted to get the hen of tattoo thingy and I didn't.
Speaker 5 (15:48):
Get to but well that's our makeup artist keys, that's
her person, so we can miss it. Perfect busy, but
that happens.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
But lastly, the performances, let me tell you, baby, it
was a highlight. So a very own DJ nickname opened
things up. Yes, and home and abroad. They were doing
their rehearsal sound check and then they just ended up
staying and playing in the beginning, which was amazing, right,
and it wasn't necessarily in their time slots. DJ Nori, yes,
(16:15):
he's always a time also DJ Dangles, DJ Suave, and
then later on we'll talk about more of the performances.
But when I tell you, we had a lot of women,
which I love. You know, young Devin London Hill killed
it all. The ward of the Scarlet of course, Maca
Diamond Chinese Kiddy was there, so you know, just a
(16:36):
lot of great, great energy. But we're going to get
more into that right now though, tell us a secret.
Eight hundred fifty is a number. Call us up and
tell us a secret, because you know, Mana was here
to judge you. Eight hundred two nine two fifty one
fifty Carl a sup and tell us a secret.
Speaker 5 (16:54):
It's way up at Angela yee.
Speaker 14 (16:57):
This is a judgment free zone.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
Tell us a secret.
Speaker 3 (17:00):

And Jasmine brand is here, Yes, I'm here, and Mano
is here. Mana, I'm going to really need you to
work hard or not judging today on tell us judge.
Speaker 6 (17:12):
I'll tell the truth.
Speaker 5 (17:14):
Okay, I'm just not.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
A truth Okay, truth is relative truth. All right, Well
listen anonymous. You guys get to remain anonymous, of course,
and you don't have to give up any information to
Mano if he asked you, so if he's like, oh,
where are you calling from?
Speaker 6 (17:37):
It was a dude that called then at some point
I forgot when that happened, and he told us.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Who were he asked him the guy who passed you
to Shane. No, all right, well, eight hundred nine two
fifty one fifty is the number. If you want to

Speaker 13 (18:05):

Speaker 10 (18:06):
But yeah, I got a secret.
Speaker 9 (18:07):
When I was a teenager, I was working at a
job and my boss she left her diet.
Speaker 12 (18:13):
Coke on the dresser, so I went to the bathroom.
Speaker 8 (18:16):
And you're a navy and then I put it back
on her desk.
Speaker 6 (18:21):
What kind of job did you work at?
Speaker 9 (18:23):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (18:23):
I was a janitor, and this is I was like, seventeen,
Why would you do that?
Speaker 3 (18:28):
You mean?
Speaker 13 (18:29):
Man, you know she was always pressing us and acting
all crazy stuff.
Speaker 12 (18:32):
So I'm like, hey, have a drink.
Speaker 13 (18:37):
What it means?
Speaker 11 (18:38):
You mean?
Speaker 4 (18:38):
Like, what's the meaning?
Speaker 9 (18:40):
You man?
Speaker 13 (18:41):
She was for real judging, for real?
Speaker 5 (18:44):
Yes, right, I mean these are confessions.
Speaker 9 (18:47):
You know.
Speaker 5 (18:48):
How long did you work there after that?
Speaker 9 (18:50):
Oh? It was just like a summer job before I
went to college.
Speaker 10 (18:53):
She was just one of them kind of things.
Speaker 5 (18:55):
And this is the one time thing. You never did
this again to anybody? Right, he did?
Speaker 9 (18:59):
No, no, no, no, no, I ain't no crazy.
Speaker 13 (19:01):
Now did you feel it?
Speaker 6 (19:02):
Did you fill a bottle up?
Speaker 10 (19:03):
Or did you? Like?
Speaker 6 (19:05):
It was like a couple of jobs.
Speaker 13 (19:08):
Coat and he had drinking there and then I was like,
sprinkle a couple of sprinkles.
Speaker 5 (19:13):
I sprinkles are not as bad as as Yeah.
Speaker 13 (19:16):
I ain't going full blast.
Speaker 5 (19:20):
You would have filled up that whole can.
Speaker 9 (19:23):
Warm you to make it you know a little bit,
you know, to make it not too obvious.
Speaker 6 (19:31):
Right, boring some of the juice poured some of the
soda soda first.
Speaker 13 (19:36):
Yeah, it was like halfway like it wasn't even all
the way full.
Speaker 9 (19:43):
Okay, So I didn't want to make it too obvious,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 13 (19:45):
All right, Well you're a salty coat.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
Ah, salty warm coke, Like this is crazy. If I
don't water, it's like this is delicious.
Speaker 5 (19:57):
Laughing, all right, thank you, thank you. Hey anonymous caller,
how are you?
Speaker 9 (20:04):
How are you doing?
Speaker 5 (20:05):
I'm good? Thank you.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
You want to share a secret with me and Jasmine
and Maino and everyone listening.
Speaker 9 (20:11):
Me and my father were dating the same girl for
five years. My father knew nothing about it. We did
everything we can to hide it because she was closing
my age and his age. Well, the only way he
found out was when she got pregnant. He had a
DNA test found out it was mine and my father
hadn't spoke since then.
Speaker 6 (20:29):
Wow, yes, should have went on Jerry Springo with that
one that's clear, you know, I think so.
Speaker 9 (20:35):
No way, no way.
Speaker 5 (20:36):
How long ago was this?
Speaker 9 (20:38):
This was maybe about like sixths ago?
Speaker 4 (20:40):
Six you said six years ago six months?
Speaker 5 (20:47):
So do you want to this is?
Speaker 6 (20:48):
This is?
Speaker 1 (20:49):
This is?
Speaker 13 (20:49):
This is new?
Speaker 5 (20:50):
Have you tried to reach out to.
Speaker 6 (20:51):
Your dad yet?
Speaker 9 (20:52):
I tried to reach out to him and speak to
him at all, but he just didn't want nothing to
do with it. Because this is he He's done a
lot of dating off and on, off and on, and
it's like the one he truly in love with. But
I didn't think he really was because he was closer
to my age.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
And his age.
Speaker 6 (21:04):
So whose girl was it? Originally?
Speaker 13 (21:05):
Was it his?
Speaker 6 (21:06):
It was Hunt? It was his girl first?
Speaker 9 (21:09):
Yeah kind of yeah, I started talking right.
Speaker 6 (21:14):
So you took your father, girl, Yeah?
Speaker 9 (21:16):
I took my father, girl. Well, the truth, the truth
reason why I did it, and I followed through it
because my father lied to me his whole life about.
Speaker 6 (21:24):
Being my real father, your real father. Purpose?
Speaker 5 (21:28):
Yeah kind of kind of yeah, you don't even want
to talk to his dad. He did this for revenge.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
That's a that's a serious get back.
Speaker 9 (21:34):
Yeah that is.
Speaker 13 (21:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (21:36):
But now you have a child, it's to talk.
Speaker 9 (21:39):
I'm saying, yet, oh, I take care of the child.
Speaker 6 (21:41):
I take care of the child.
Speaker 4 (21:42):
The child got to meet his grandfather.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
Yeah, but grandpa, and listen, you want to make sure
that your child's not feeling none of his energy.
Speaker 9 (21:48):
Oh, my dad is maning his man. He shouldn't have
held he shouldn't held the truth to people and my
father for thirty two years.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
You know, I don't know.
Speaker 9 (21:59):
Her when when the land don't know the real pole.
Speaker 5 (22:01):
All right, it's a secret. Thank you for calling it.
Speaker 6 (22:08):
All right?
Speaker 5 (22:08):
Well that was tell us a secret. And when we
come back, we have a yee t.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
And speaking of relationships, Tyrese has some issues with his
X and he has a new song about it. You
want to hear it. Here go when we come back.
This way up at Angela yee pot, let's get it.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Angela's feeling that yet, come and get the tea?
Speaker 9 (22:25):
What up?
Speaker 3 (22:26):
His way up at Angela yee? I'm Angela yee. And
Jasmine brand is here.
Speaker 4 (22:30):
Yeah, I'm not just any brand on my own brand
is here?
Speaker 5 (22:34):
No man, Yeah, trying to get rid of her. These
are things she has, the Jasmine brand. I didn't know
you were belliable. Yeah, all right.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
Well Tyresee is still having some issues with his ax.
He has a new song out where he actually discusses it.
He also had talked about it on social media and
the divorce trial. He said he realized it was never loved,
was just a transaction. Well now as a song and
it's called love transaction. Here's what he said, very.
Speaker 5 (23:08):
Specific on this phone.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
You know what he sounds like you, I don't think
it's supposed to Okay, well, I feel like it's effective.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
So if there was any question, these are not subliminals
at all. Specific numbers.
Speaker 5 (23:33):
Know what that money's fun.
Speaker 4 (23:35):
Listen, this is hilarious.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Made me feel like writing a song, just being real specific.
Thank you for comments and.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
All right.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
Well, Tiger and Black China have also been going back
and forth, and that is to establish a parental relationship
and what are they doing with their son that they
have together.
Speaker 5 (23:54):
So Tiger is responding to Black China. She found the petition.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
She demanded that he paid child support and also to
establish joint custody and more for their ten year old son.
They have King Cairo together now on the Shade Room,
Black China said, yesterday I had to give up three
of my cars, my reasons, morals, beliefs, being a single mother,
no support. I'm a mama single note child support And
then Tiger said, I paid forty thousand dollars a year
(24:18):
from my son's school and he lives with me Monday
through Saturday. Why would I pay child support? Oh, he
visits him Monday.
Speaker 5 (24:24):
No, No, that's him Monday through Saturday.
Speaker 6 (24:27):
So he has so she only has him on Sunday.
Speaker 5 (24:29):
Yes, I guess, mourday, Saturday to Monday.
Speaker 6 (24:33):
So he said, from Monday to Saturday.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
Saturday to Monday, he has the baby. He has their son,
not a baby anywhere.
Speaker 5 (24:38):
He's ten.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
He has the child from Monday through Saturday. She has
a child from Saturday through Monday. And he pays for
the school. So Tiger said, ten years later, NA, stick
to your schedule Saturday to Monday.
Speaker 4 (24:50):
That's a nice little setup.
Speaker 5 (24:52):
And she's and she responded to Tiger. Lol. So, I mean,
if he's telling the truth, I don't think he should
have to pay.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
Time, right because he has the baby more than yeah
all week. Yeah, I'll tell you, it's not a baby.
I guess, all right, get it, we get it, and
pays for the school. So yeah, that's a blessing. All Right,
Dinny in the meantime has donated one million dollars. He
was at the Earn Your Leisure and vest Fest and
(25:21):
he donated that money to Jackson State University and he
also helped to launch the Earn Your Leisure Fund.
Speaker 5 (25:28):
All right, here's what he had to say.
Speaker 6 (25:30):
But was it for HBCUs, I wouldn't be here.
Speaker 11 (25:33):
And really just supporting HBCUs is not just my honor,
it is my responsibility.
Speaker 9 (25:38):
You know.
Speaker 6 (25:38):
My grandmother raised me to make sure I sold my
seat in my community. And that's what I'm gonna continue
to do. And so what they're doing at Jackson stage
is to be commended. But they're doing at Howard Universities
to be commended all HBCUs that are under resource and
I'm here to do something about it.
Speaker 5 (25:53):
All right.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
So he was at the game when he actually did this,
and then he also presented that check which was also
held in you know, he he also had the check
and I said, they posted it on the Earn Your
Leisure page.
Speaker 4 (26:04):
That's dope. Shout out to Jackson State University. I have
some friends that went there.
Speaker 5 (26:08):
So Jackson and Jason went to Morgan State in Baltimore.
In Baltimore.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
Ye, all right, So shout out to him for that.
Now at invest Fest also, Steve Harvey was there. You know,
he's one of the I guess investors in invest Festa
and he always is a keynote and participates, and so
one thing that he wanted to do. I didn't even
know that there were rumors I did that his wife
cheated on him, and.
Speaker 5 (26:35):
I didn't want to hear these rumors, which is a shame.
Speaker 4 (26:37):
It's because we were busy.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
I mean, it's not a shame, but but they were
rumors that she cheated with the bodyguard and the personal chef,
and he wanted to let everybody to know that's not
to and they are fine.
Speaker 5 (26:46):
Here's what he had to say.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
To do.
Speaker 6 (26:55):
Sometimes you want to respond, over Johnson, I.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
Think that is responding though.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
I guess he just felt like, I'm here, all these
people in front of me, let me say it from
out of my mouth.
Speaker 5 (27:09):
And he is a personality too.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
He has a radio show, so I'm sure when things
like that happen and you're on the radio, at some
point you're gonna address it.
Speaker 5 (27:16):
Yeah, So I'm like, why not do it here?
Speaker 3 (27:19):
And you know, it's crazy. This is what I saw
the most of and he did a whole other thing
at invest Fest and somehow this is.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
What we're right.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
Yeah, yeah, all right, well yeah, there was a lot
going on, but we'll talk more about that. That is
your yet when we come back. We have under the
radar and you're gonna want to listen to this. These
are stories that are not necessarily in the headlines, but
they're very important. And this has to do with every
single person listening something that we all have in our
homes that we need to think about.
Speaker 5 (27:48):
All right, it's way up at Angela. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
News, this in the news that relates to you. These
stories are flying under the radar.
Speaker 5 (27:56):
All right, it's way up at Angela. Yee, I'm Angela.
Speaker 8 (27:58):
Ye.
Speaker 5 (27:58):
Jasmine brand is here, Yes, he's here today.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
Is actually Angela ye day. I celebrated it yesterday, but
it's really on August twenty eighth.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
Okay, so we got to do something. Yeah, well you know, ver,
don't start an idea with me.
Speaker 3 (28:13):
Okay, all right, well, Zillo, and these are under the
radar stories. It's offering a one percent down payment loan program.
Now I was looking at this right because there's a
lot of buyers who have issues of being able to
afford properties right now. Interest is so high it's not
a lot of options on the market right now. So
through this program, if you're an eligible buyer, you can
put down as as one percent, but it's only available
(28:36):
in Arizona right now, all right. Typically you have to
put down a lot more than that for a conventional
home loan, and they're saying you can also alternatively put
down three percent with Zillo's two percent, bringing the total
down payment to five percent, so they'll give you that
two percent.
Speaker 5 (28:53):
However, I was looking at Darryl Fairweather. She's been up
here before.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
She's the chief economist for Redfin, and she posted word
of advice. Putting less than five percent down in a
volatile market like Arizona is a risky choice. If home
values dropped, you could end up tens of thousands of
dollars underwater.
Speaker 5 (29:10):
So that was her response.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
So again, just always pay attention to what's going on,
because it is true if the value drops you've only
put down one percent and now you owe ninety nine percent.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
I definitely put very little down, but it was a
million years ago in the market was completely different and
it was a fah loan, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
Yeah, So it's a different situation. Everybody's options are different,
you know, for what it is that they do. But
it is an affordability crisis right now. So the combination
of record breaking home price appreciation and rising interest rates.
A lot of first time buyers are putting down less
than twenty percent in a home. But sometimes that means
you have mortgage insurance, which is money that you do
(29:45):
not get back. It only goes toward insuring the loan.
So as much as you can put down, I feel
like it is always a good thing.
Speaker 4 (29:51):
Or then you get those rates that you know, they
balloon after a set number of years.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
All right, Now, a white gunman killed three black people
in Jacksonville, and according to reports, they've identified him as
Ryan Christopher Palmitter.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
He's twenty one years old.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
They're saying that he was inspired by a previous mass
shooting that was on August twenty six, and officials believe
he chose that date to coincide with the twenty eighteen
shooting at a video game tournament that left two people
dead and nine injured.
Speaker 5 (30:18):
Oh my god, all right, that was David Katz.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
He was a previous winner at the local annual Madden
NFL tournament. He opened fire on attendees before killing himself.
And so this man was at a Dollar General store
in Jacksonville, Florida, and then he turned the weapon on himself.
And so they feel that that similar local mass shooting
that's what inspired him to do that.
Speaker 4 (30:40):
Wow, condolences to those three families.
Speaker 3 (30:42):
This is heartbreaking, really sad man, that somebody would be
that disgusting and hateful. And they also said that there's
a manifest the diary of a madman, so I guess
they do have a lot more information.
Speaker 5 (30:55):
Federal authorities are probing that attack right now.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
They're treating it as a hate crime and an active
RACI motivated violent extremism.
Speaker 6 (31:02):
Right. That's this country, though, this is we produce this.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
You know what's crazy. When I think of a racist,
I do not think that he's only twenty one years old,
like I would not think this is unbelievable. He's twenty
one years old and he has this kind of hate.
Speaker 6 (31:12):
Yeah, read that way.
Speaker 3 (31:13):
He had a glock and an AR fifteen style rifle
that had swastikas on it. Okay, all right, man, I
am so sorry to hear this, and again, that's terrible.
I can't even imagine. All right, now, a new study
has revealed that there's a home appliance that we all
have in our home, and they're saying this has more
benzene than secondhand smoke, and you're at an elevated risk
of cancer. According to a Stanford led study that was
(31:36):
published in Environmental Science and Technology, the flames of gas
stoves can be worse than average concentrations from secondhand smoke.
Speaker 4 (31:44):
You're kidding me.
Speaker 5 (31:45):
I am not kidding you.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
So they're saying you should consider switching to electrics sooner
rather than later.
Speaker 5 (31:51):
I've only ever used a gas stove.
Speaker 6 (31:53):
You're letting us notice five hundred years later.
Speaker 5 (31:55):
Well, I guess they just recently did this study.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
Now, So you've never had on a line electric stove, Angela.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
Never, I've only had Yeah, I feel like that's the
most common thing. Yeah, that a lot of people have
just electric stoves.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
My house has a does not have electric stove. With
the apartment I live in does have electric stove. So
may you know what about your home electric?
Speaker 3 (32:14):
Okay, okay, yeah, this is just a warning to everybody
as they are at some point probably going to make
us switch over to electric.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
Anyway, So this is concerning Angela.
Speaker 3 (32:23):
Yeah, very and I'm actually in the process of trying
to get a stove and I was like, let me
not get this gas stove.
Speaker 4 (32:29):
Yeah, you mean you switch that I was about to get.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
All right, well that is you're under the radar stories
and you know, we got the way up mixed. At
the top of the hour, plus, Macca Diamond is going
to be joining us. She is from Jamaica. She performed
the Angela y Day and killed it and she is
quite entertaining as well. We have some Maca Diamond bucks
in here to some money. All right, it's way up
at Angela ye.
Speaker 5 (32:50):
She's like like they Angela, like they Angela.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
Man, she's spilling it all.
Speaker 6 (32:55):
This is yet way up.
Speaker 5 (33:00):
Not picking up the cake.
Speaker 3 (33:01):
It's way up at Angela yee, Angela yee. And Jasmine
brand is here brand on my own brand.
Speaker 5 (33:07):
Mana is here. Listen.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
We got Mana a cake for his birthday early pre birthday,
early pre birthday cake. Surprised me soon yeah, yeah, and
you were very surprised.
Speaker 6 (33:17):
Yeah, I'm like, why would y'all do this?
Speaker 4 (33:19):
Yeah, we were waiting for you to come back to
try this cake.
Speaker 5 (33:22):
And we also have some class for you. All right,
let's get into some yet though.
Speaker 6 (33:29):
So the R.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
Kelly victims have been awarded ten point five million dollars,
and that is over a threat that shut down the
surviving R. Kelly screening. Now here's a fun fact. I
was actually hosting the screening that night.
Speaker 4 (33:41):
You remember this whole situation.
Speaker 6 (33:42):
Get some of that money.
Speaker 5 (33:43):
I didn't know there was a suit going on. No
one told me.
Speaker 4 (33:46):
Listen when she when she read the story, she said,
I'm I've been affected by the missed told me.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
But that particular night we were there, the screening had
literally just started, okay, and so we were doing a
Q and A afterward, I was seemed a Q and
a portion of it, and then all of a sudden,
they will like, get your things, we have to evacuate,
and I'm like, what what's going on?
Speaker 5 (34:06):
We can't say right now. Everybody has to get out,
get out, get out.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
So we're outside and then the police officer told me
that there was a gun threat and so that's why
they shut it down.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
Then how did you when did you realize that it
was related to the R Kelly situation, I guess, I mean,
any of us knew.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
Right away until but it was somebody that threatened to
shoot up the screening and that's how they shut it down.
So now the six women would be awarded between one
point one to two point twenty five million dollars each.
Speaker 4 (34:33):
Do you think they're going to get anything, because I
mean it seems like he's maybe there's.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
A lot of people he owes money to and so
money they're ready ordering him to pay restitution and use
his royalty some music for that. So I don't know
where this money is going to end up coming from,
but hopefully they get what they deserve.
Speaker 5 (34:50):
Okay, but y'all should have called me emotional distress. I
should have known about this all right now.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
Is addressing people's frustration because a lot of people thought
before All the Dogs album was going to come out
on Friday. For the record, he never told you all
that was happening. Here's what he had to say on
his It's All a Blur tour stop in Seattle. I said,
I didn't draw MC, I didn't say the glass right,
So I'm just said it's coming soon.
Speaker 6 (35:23):
It's not even much fish.
Speaker 10 (35:28):
If she was hoppy figure out.
Speaker 5 (35:32):
How she would be her way who started that room
more Amazon.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
I think they had posted yeah, the title with the date,
and so people ran with that, and we did say
it was coming soon, so they were like, oh, yes,
coming out on Friday.
Speaker 4 (35:45):
That's a good assumption if you've seen it on Amazon.
It's not like an outlet reported it. Okay, all right.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
Now, Cardi B has offered an update on her long
awaited second album. She was talking to Vogue Mexico e
Latino America and she said that she is focused on
the long away to follow up. She said, I'm not
going to release any more collabs. I'm going to put
out my next solo single right now. I'm working on
the cover art and ideas for the next record because
it's definitely coming out, okay, and it is time if
(36:11):
we waited long enough. Yeah, let's let's get this party
started please, all right? And Yay is planning to drop
a new album as well. They said he's been working
on new music throughout the summer, and one of the
sources told the NBC News they were in the studio
listened to some of the music and new music is imminent.
The sources said it was unclear on what platform he
would be releasing his new music. Remember he had it
on that thingy?
Speaker 4 (36:32):
What is it stem?
Speaker 5 (36:33):
A stem a stem player? Yeah, it was a stem player.
Speaker 4 (36:35):
Really quick, thingy, real quick, Angela. Are you looking would you?
Are you looking forward to a new Kanye or Yay album?
Speaker 9 (36:41):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (36:41):
Or no? I'll listen to it, okay, mano, are you
looking for it to a new Yay album like Kanye?
Speaker 6 (36:48):
Okay?
Speaker 5 (36:48):
So let's be clear. Jay Electronica was on the last album.
I was actually there.
Speaker 4 (36:52):
I remember telling me about that you had to wear
all black?
Speaker 11 (36:54):
Right?
Speaker 5 (36:54):
Sure did? All right, and let's discuss no Lyles.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
He is a US track star, and he has some
issues with the World Champion NBA title and he doesn't
like the fact that they refer to themselves here as
world champions after winning an NBA title. You know, he
had a really successful weekend at the World Championships in Budapest.
He won three gold medals and he's also the world's
number one ring two hundred meter runner. He's in the
(37:21):
top five and the one hundred meters according to World Athletics,
and he's a six time world champion.
Speaker 5 (37:26):
But here's what he had to say about the NBA.
Speaker 6 (37:28):
You know, the thing that hurts me the most is
that I have to watch the NBA finals and they
have world champion on their head, World champion of what
the United States. Don't kid me wrong. I love the
US at times, but to the world.
Speaker 12 (37:47):
We have almost every country out here, fighting, thriving, putting
on they flag to show that they are represented.
Speaker 4 (37:55):
All right, is that?
Speaker 3 (37:57):
I get that, Angela, No, no, you guys best NBA
players from in the n b A okay, okay, But
it doesn't matter of fact. Going to play overseas, it's great,
but the NBA is where people want to be.
Speaker 5 (38:09):
They actually go play over the world. You're not.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
You're not playing against teams across the world.
Speaker 5 (38:15):
You're Yeah.
Speaker 6 (38:17):
Yeah they do when you when you go to the Olympics,
Yeah they do.
Speaker 5 (38:20):
But the best players in the world come to play
in the n b A.
Speaker 4 (38:23):
I agree with that goal. I agree with that.
Speaker 6 (38:24):
But you got the greatest players. But you're in the
world and we got.
Speaker 5 (38:27):
A lot more to talk about.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
Scarlett when we come back and Angela yee Day and
everything that was going on there, and give some love.
Speaker 5 (38:34):
It's way up at Angela. Ye, you find the way up.
Speaker 3 (38:44):
It's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Ye, and
Jasmine is here from the Jasmine brand.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
What's up Angela Hey?
Speaker 5 (38:49):
Jasmine Brand? And Mayno is here.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
Mayo was with us yesterday too at Angela Yee Day,
and I want to make sure that we show some
love to everybody who was out there.
Speaker 6 (38:58):
Now.
Speaker 3 (38:58):
First of all, Scarlett was there, okay, and I know
I saw on social media that she's going through something
right now, so we do want to send her some love.
Speaker 5 (39:07):
I so she posted all RP baby, I love you
so much.
Speaker 3 (39:10):
I miss you so much, and she posted a text
conversation and she said, damn if only I text you
back check on your peoples, you never know when they're gone.
So we want to send her some love. I'm not
sure exactly what's going on Oka, but she was also
at Angela Yee Day and when I tell you, they
went crazy for her.
Speaker 5 (39:28):
So I appreciate you, we love you, Scarlet.
Speaker 3 (39:31):
And here was an incident where she actually was talking
to somebody who is her biggest fan, and she is
a survivor, and so we want to show some love.
She posted today I'm met my biggest fan who was
fighting off cancer her last wish was to meet me
and her name is at one Brooklyn and where you go, Faya,
And here's what happened.
Speaker 6 (39:51):
Listen, I love you.
Speaker 5 (39:52):
I heard it, and thank you for supporting me, to
being here for me.
Speaker 13 (39:56):
God bless you, honest, don't cry. I feel so.
Speaker 5 (40:00):
I'm your big expandic I am.
Speaker 9 (40:03):
I love you.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
What's your name?
Speaker 9 (40:04):
Brooklyn?
Speaker 5 (40:06):
She's been battling cancer since she was nine years old.
Speaker 3 (40:09):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
You can see that clip on the Jazz and Brands Instagram.
Speaker 6 (40:12):
Oh wows. Yeah, so shouted.
Speaker 3 (40:14):
I mean listen. Moments like that are so important though,
you know, and life changing. She also had on an
exonerated T shirt from my guy John Bunn. He gave
out some free T shirts as well.
Speaker 6 (40:25):
Beautiful, but I do.
Speaker 3 (40:26):
Want to show some love to everybody who came out,
you know, the West Indian Day Paraders next week, so
this is kind of like the beforehand free and so
we had Ioja and they went crazy for him. Afrobeats
artists also DJ Cheam, GBM Neutron, who actually tried to
get me to go on stage in Wine but I
(40:46):
ended up bringing up somebody from the audience and she
killed it. I was like, all right, it's over. I'm
home and abroad. They were up a couple of times,
but live music cranium. Yeah, yes, your guy Game is
a wild guy. He definitely knows how to perform, and
Soaraannie was a special guest. He got off the flight
and came straight to Angela Ye day and killed it
(41:08):
and went on next stage and killed it.
Speaker 4 (41:11):
And Angela dance in the background.
Speaker 5 (41:13):
Yeah, all right. London Hill was there and people came out.
Speaker 3 (41:18):
Really there were some people who were huge London Hill
fans who came to see her beautiful perform. Maca Diamond
was there. Yes, it's going to be joining us today
to give a little recap. Also, Ricky Blaze. We're big
fans of Ricky Blaze. We told you Scarlet, She and
Clout he opened everything up. His mom was there, which
is really sweet to get a chance to meet her.
Yakor came yes and I saw people posting listening to him.
Speaker 5 (41:42):
That was a vibe.
Speaker 3 (41:43):
Young Devon she's from Brooklyn, the baby Goat and you know,
I adore Young Devon. But her performance, I mean the
energy that she has is incredible. Chinese Kiddy showed up
and she's gonna come through a way up with Angela.
Ye as well, Maino and this dive A Yes, baby,
that's stays babe, and Mano got there. He made his
(42:06):
grand entrance, but people were asking for him before you
even showed him.
Speaker 4 (42:10):
Where's Mano? Where's Manoh?
Speaker 5 (42:13):
They told him he was a mess. Well he was
on stage.
Speaker 6 (42:15):
Yeah, and that's why you love me, baby.
Speaker 5 (42:18):
Mess may.
Speaker 3 (42:20):
DJ Dangles I love DJ Dangles and he always DJ's
at one of my favorite restaurants, The Grill. Love DJ
Nick Navy, Oh yeah, he's so mad. His name is
Nick Zeal, but we call him Nick Navy because Mano
renamed him Navy.
Speaker 6 (42:34):
Yeah, we got the nick.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (42:36):
Of course.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
DJ Swab has been there from day one. Okay, I
know he's feeling himself.
Speaker 5 (42:44):
And DJ Norri, who by the way, is amazing.
Speaker 4 (42:47):
Yeah, I love his energy.
Speaker 3 (42:50):
Everybody hype. We don't even need nothing else. But if
nor is there, were good?
Speaker 4 (42:54):
Who styles DJ Swab? I love his attire all the time.
I feel like he styles himself very fly whenever he DJs.
Let shout out to our guy DJ Swibe. Also my
guy Jack Nasty flew in from Turks and Caicos. We
closed the song the show out every Day with his
song closer We Do.
Speaker 6 (43:09):
And that is my guy.
Speaker 3 (43:11):
If you go to Texan Cakos, when I tell you
Jack Nasty will get everything that you need. Like his
family works everywhere too. He's a main day own restaurant,
takes care of us. They on gas stations.
Speaker 5 (43:21):
I'm like, he knows everyone.
Speaker 4 (43:22):
What about Maino's uncle uncle.
Speaker 6 (43:26):
Uncle over twenty five years? You said, right, he's up.
Speaker 3 (43:30):
And another person who I was really excited to see her. Yeah,
she pulled up as a surprise. No, she just came
through the show some loves she was.
Speaker 4 (43:40):
She was with the people too.
Speaker 5 (43:41):
Yeah, she was outside of the second pictures.
Speaker 6 (43:44):
She's so cool.
Speaker 5 (43:45):
I was like, listen, I love you so much for
coming through. Like are you good? She's like, no, I'm
enjoying this. This is amazing. I love being here.
Speaker 4 (43:51):
And Angel's not going to say this, but her and
Angela have a cool friendship relationship. So you all you
talk my little sister. I love you support each other.
Speaker 6 (43:58):
So I love that.
Speaker 3 (43:59):
Shout out Shout out to my guy aunt who always
make sure that he holds it down, so thank.
Speaker 4 (44:03):
You, and the photographer shout out to doctor by Dre.
Speaker 5 (44:06):
All right, but anyway, y'all going to see a lot
of this.
Speaker 3 (44:08):
I'm trying to get all these posts so I could
do something amazing for you guys to see what it
was like. But it was a free so shout out
to the social justice fun and of course my guy
Greg Bishop will help put everything together, all right. And
when we come back from Angela ye Day, Maca Diamond
is going to be joining us.
Speaker 5 (44:23):
It's way up at Angela ye okay, kays you back
at it.
Speaker 10 (44:30):
Bring in the way up with.
Speaker 5 (44:32):
Angela Yee is on.
Speaker 3 (44:34):
Yes, it's the way you put Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee.
Jasmine brand is here, Yes, I'm here, Angela.
Speaker 5 (44:39):
Mana is here.
Speaker 3 (44:40):
Yes, may you have cake on your finger? It's okay,
all right? Well, happy birthday, all right, and also happy
birthday to hip hop. Audible is also probably celebrating fifty
years of hip hop, the culture that birth the most
prolific storytellers of our time. Respect the movement, respect the moment,
(45:01):
celebrates storytellers, and they have a lot of new hip
hop memoirs, podcasts, and also exclusive musical performances on Audible.
It's all free all summer long, So I'm gonna give
you all. Some examples are right, okay, Gangster Grizzils DJ
dramas Gangster Grills Classic. Now that is DJ Drama himself
in conversation with some hip hop greats like two Chains,
(45:22):
Little Wayne, with Khalifa, gz TI and Pharrell, and here
he is talking about building that whole brand.
Speaker 14 (45:28):
So I remember when I chose to do Gangster Grills
with people like Pharrell and Little Brother. You know, I
had gotten some hesitation like that doesn't fit what gangster
Grills is. That's not what the brand represents. And for me,
it was like, Gangster Grills represents whatever I allow it to,
whatever direction I take it in, all right.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
In addition to that, for the ladies because Jas Whine,
you know, the women are running it.
Speaker 5 (45:52):
We've seen that at Angela ye day of course.
Speaker 3 (45:54):
But the mother Load, all right, it's featuring hip hop
heavies like MC light, Mike Angie Martinez retracing the history
and future of hip hop through the lens of its
most influential female contributors. You know how they used to
always act like it could only be one woman.
Speaker 6 (46:07):
But that's what is what.
Speaker 5 (46:08):
Martinez had to say.
Speaker 15 (46:10):
After years of debates about the lack of female rappers.
Nicki Minaj updated the blueprint for success, and Carti multiplied
the wealth of talent and resurrected the idea that numerous
women who controlled their own stories could dominate rap at once.
Speaker 5 (46:26):
Never again would there only be one. All right, I
know it. That's right.
Speaker 3 (46:31):
So you can hear unforgettable hip hop originals like these
and more essential stories on audible. Listen free go to
audible dot com slash hip Hop Forever.
Speaker 6 (46:40):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (46:40):
Speaking of the women, we told you there were a
lot of women at Angela Yide and one of them
is joining us when we come back.
Speaker 5 (46:46):
Maca Diamond, it's a way up at Angela Yee.
Speaker 6 (46:49):
Yet it.
Speaker 3 (46:52):
Up with Angela Yee is on what's up? This way
up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee and Maca Diamond
is here with me. Macadosh listen. I'm so excited that
you did Antelay Day. Like I said, people were really
hyped because I think seeing you live is such an experience.
Speaker 1 (47:09):
I'm always excited when I'm gonna do just my Caribbean.
Are my other people who are not from just Jamaica.
So to go on that stage, I know it was
gonna be fun. So you know, with those shelitan it's fun.
Speaker 5 (47:23):
Yeah, and every year.
Speaker 3 (47:24):
And I love that too because first of all, the
Attorney people were really excited for GBM New Chant, like
just everybody's excited for different people, but to see it
all together. And sometimes people don't like from New York,
they may not know who the artist is that sings
a song, and then you put on Die Die and everybody's.
Speaker 1 (47:39):
Like, oh, that happens all the time. And then I
have a lot of people who are in those clubs
now that that song our bonnime is directly on rotation,
so they are dying to see this person. Who is
this Makadhama. I want to know her, you know, they
want to know the face.
Speaker 3 (47:55):
I just want to congratulate you and give you your
flowers because you've been in this business man for what
over thirty years?
Speaker 1 (48:03):
Trust me, it's a lot. It's a lot of decades.
And you know, when you get up something and say
I'm done, now, I'm done, beautiful things like this happened,
like oh Angela wants me, and new things just start
harpening it each Timma said this is it. Now I'm tired,
let me go. Rest, let me go take your of
other business. New things come is like the father above
and saying no, it's not time.
Speaker 3 (48:23):
And another thing that I look at when I listen
to your music is it's also very empowering for women,
you know, just to have these subjects where we can
because guys talk about us all day, especially in dancehall.
Speaker 5 (48:34):
Y'all say some things about us.
Speaker 3 (48:35):
Okay, but you know you've been able to really clap
back and put these guys in their place.
Speaker 1 (48:41):
I love to do that, especially in my songs. Once
I do that, I would be a song and you
know I am very versatile. I would just clap back
with a song or I don't.
Speaker 3 (48:52):
Care right now, I'm talking to a MCA Diamond aka Macadosius.
Is it intimidating for guys like okay in your personal
life when especially earlier on, like when they hear like
done already and they're like, damn, I got it?
Speaker 1 (49:05):
Oh yes, Like my personal life is a messing my
career to go off. It's like all those guys to
give you you get millions, They're like, oh you have
money now, yeah.
Speaker 5 (49:16):
Boy, her money for us? What we're doing with so
is that money?
Speaker 1 (49:19):
And I've heard it from other female artists in the business,
like they were like, oh, my boyfriend started to tell
me I have money. Now I'm okay, and I'm like,
that's all they stay. And so I've got that thing.
And then we have Oh I saw your stage dancing
with a man, and I'm like, you know, And it's
part of Yes, there's a lot of things will happen
in that personal life and to try to get them
not to think that we're not out here when when
(49:41):
I'm old doing my shows and I'm not messing around.
Speaker 5 (49:44):
You're like, I promise this is work.
Speaker 7 (49:46):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (49:46):
So it's like, oh, you'll be like, oh, you're cheated
on me last night. You find a new boyfriend to
show you.
Speaker 5 (49:52):
And that's because you did younger guys.
Speaker 1 (49:54):
Oh no, you know, I'm not a fan of younger guys,
but they love me. You know, it's not like a
them are nothing. But they scared me because I know
they're not ready to cucle So I like suckle with people.
But the big man, the older man, they're scared of me.
They're like, oh, this woman is too sexy, she's too hot,
She's gonna give me trouble. So that's what I get
from the older man, but the younger ones, Oh, they're
(50:15):
all up on the back.
Speaker 6 (50:17):
I bet.
Speaker 5 (50:19):
And then let's talk about macadocias.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
Oh macadocious, that's like an alter ego for you, because
people were saying that, oh, she's you know, it's time
to stop doing this.
Speaker 5 (50:28):
She's older now. And people will tell you that.
Speaker 3 (50:31):
I feel like they do that to women way more
than men, because there's men that have that are older,
you know, nobody says that about them, But when it
comes to women, it's like, is there an expiration on
when you can do what you love? So instead of
you being offended, you went ahead and created.
Speaker 1 (50:47):
Exactly so that lane.
Speaker 5 (50:49):
I've created that.
Speaker 1 (50:50):
And all the big women they love me. They keep
telling me, or you inspire me, you made me feel good.
So it's a whole different part of career, you know.
So I find that the lot of women who is
going their fifties sixties and they're keeping these parties there,
they would book me for it, and they doesn't want
to feel entertained and feel like someone is a big woman,
(51:11):
but they're supporting them and letting them feel good.
Speaker 5 (51:14):
The music is timeless, so yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (51:17):
Think so too. And once you keep your image, you
eat right, and you your mental status because it's a
rough road. And now for the woman and once your
focus and you have the right team, you know you continue.
You don't pay no one, no mine. It's to me.
I'm satisfied with where I'm at. If I get two fans,
three fans, if I get a thousand people, if I
get two thousands, I'm fine. I give thanks. That's what
(51:39):
is bringing me. I give thanks that.
Speaker 6 (51:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (51:41):
Right now I'm talking to a MCA Diamond aka Macadosius.
I saw you got your own day too in Cincinnati.
Oh yes, everything, yeah, all right, now me why Cincinnati,
Because what they.
Speaker 1 (51:55):
Were trying to say is that there's a lot of
artists that are trying as Danceau and reggul to get
down there, but because the market is so small, they
won't take the offers. And they're saying, but when I tour,
I try to do it because it doesn't matter. It's
when I'm promoting a new song. So they're saying, oh,
you're one of them that appreciates us. You came no
matter what is a handful of of our Caribban people here,
(52:17):
and you still come on support. So I think that's
one of the reasons.
Speaker 5 (52:20):
That's really amazing.
Speaker 3 (52:22):
I mean, that's really why I do Angela y Ede
the way that I do, because I do put on
you know, Soca Dance Hall because I love it. But
I also feel like we don't give it enough support
the way that we should. So I want to make
sure to me, it's like the most fun, beautiful.
Speaker 1 (52:39):
Thing, you know, great, and thank you so much for
having me there.
Speaker 5 (52:43):
It was fun.
Speaker 1 (52:44):
I had so much fun.
Speaker 5 (52:44):
I was excited.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
I guess you do have other shows that's going on,
like kind of in Connecticut, so.
Speaker 1 (52:51):
You have oh, yes, yes, and with the Bronx, I
have to do two shows Saturday, and I have to
do two shows on Saturday night. I have to do
Connected then in the Bronx, and then I had to
wake up and say, oh, I'm ready for Angela's Day now.
Speaker 3 (53:05):
But I do really I don't take it for granted,
you know, so I just want to let you know
that I do appreciate that so much. I was really
hype when they said I was like, yes, absolutely, I'm
sure this is happening, and then you posted a flyer
and then I was like, Okay.
Speaker 1 (53:18):
I was really excited for this because I mean it's
a crowd that I love that mix.
Speaker 3 (53:23):
Yeah yeah, and it's you know, it's a family type
of day, so definitely, and I think it's the perfect
thing for you.
Speaker 5 (53:28):
We have Maca Diamond here with us, and we have
more with her when we come back.
Speaker 3 (53:32):
She is from Jamaica and she performed at Angela Ye
Day and she's amazing.
Speaker 5 (53:35):
It's way up with Angela Ye You, Way up with
Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (53:42):
What's Tapp's way up with Angela Ye Angela Yee and
Maca Diamond is here? What would you say is the
I want to first ask you the most difficult part
and then I want to ask you the most rewarding part.
So first, what is the most difficult part of your
journey to get to where you're sitting right now.
Speaker 1 (53:59):
Trying to get a producer to say, Okay, I'm gonna
work with her. I'm gonna let her get a song,
I'm gonna let her free up and you know, just
work with her. You know, I only had producers were
like because they feel like like, well, sorry for me,
you know, But then to get one that was see
us and say, okay, I'm gonna help this girl she's talented.
(54:20):
See my talent for what it is, you know. That's
what took a lot of time. I had to do
that a lot. I just stayed shows that I wasn't
even booked for. I had no money. I had to
spend my own money to pay going to some of them,
sleep on the chairs, take a boss home, you know,
and just run on, try to beg them, okay, can
I dot it? And that was what really let them
(54:41):
see me and say, oh, yes, you know.
Speaker 3 (54:43):
I think that's a very humble way to approach it,
which I think is good because sometimes people see success
and then.
Speaker 6 (54:50):
Yes, I used to then.
Speaker 1 (54:51):
And then when I brought my first little old car,
I had like a one bugler of water like this,
and I go to every club and I'm wash face
and I have my little perfume result I'm wiping up
and I'm changing the car and I run in that
club and I try to beg these guys, can you
play my song please? Somebody will be like no, And
(55:12):
then I grabbed the mic and then I said, okay,
let me do it, like okay, that's fine.
Speaker 5 (55:15):
I'm still make it happen right now. That's great.
Speaker 9 (55:18):
Right.
Speaker 5 (55:18):
So it was a lot of that.
Speaker 1 (55:19):
It was a lot of in my cars, you know,
because I used to live far away from the openings,
so I had to get a little car after a time.
And when I got that car, because I used to
what I used to do was we do dub plates.
So I used to go to that bonte Quilla Cabra
and all of those artists. I said, can I get
a free up? And the song guys all over Canada, America, English,
(55:41):
they will send me money. And I was living off
of that to keep me going to the students and
helping out myself, you know. But the dream was to
get a producer. And the day went black, horr bring
me to a Christopher Birch and he said, sit in
Shaggy's chair and write. I said, oh, it's coming. He's
like yeah, and then done already, baby, even done that, lady.
(56:01):
It's like, oh, but I heard it done the radio.
Then I heard top producers start calling my phone. They
never talked to me before.
Speaker 5 (56:08):
Isn't that crazy that one thing can change your whole life?
Speaker 9 (56:13):
Right?
Speaker 1 (56:14):
And when I heard those top producers called, oh you
find it, you find it, I'm like okay, And then
I remember I got a call from even later song.
Speaker 5 (56:21):
She was like, you find it and I was like, oh,
that must have been amazing, Oh yes, oh yes.
Speaker 3 (56:28):
You know, you can't hold grudges in a situation like
that either, because I realized that people don't really care
about you until you had and then all of a sudden,
it's like.
Speaker 1 (56:37):
Because what I tell everyone, Angela is what it said.
It is no business like show business. They didn't say
it is. There's no friend like show friend, so it's
not a friend. It's a business.
Speaker 3 (56:49):
Right right now, I'm talking to a MCA Diamond aka Macadosis.
Let's talk about the most rewarding part of this business
to you and why you love it so much, is.
Speaker 1 (56:58):
Letting people having fun, you know. And I made my
money to help myself and it made me very independent,
you know. I could even my mom would say to me, oh,
I could have never done that. You're strong, you know.
And I feel good that that the reward was there
because my friends, people who used to laugh at me,
you're not gonna make it, you know, So I feel
(57:19):
good that. No, I'm standing in the know, at least
in one of the top twenties, our top whatever of Jamaica.
And that's the thing. You know, I can go and
show them that I know this thing. I've learned the
hard way and I'm ready to continue and I'm one
of the best.
Speaker 3 (57:37):
Yes, well, listen, I got your playlist right now on
my Apple Music listening to the whole just going back
to two thousand and four up until today.
Speaker 1 (57:47):
Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (57:48):
So that's amazing though, to have that type of longevity.
So I definitely want to, you know, just say I'm
honored that you did Angela y day and for you
to be here, oh yes, it's.
Speaker 1 (57:57):
A pleasure and thank you. Thank you for having me.
It was it was long a waiting, so it was doing.
It was fun for me. I'm not just about the music.
It was a fun excitement.
Speaker 5 (58:08):
I'm the love all right, Mcca Diamond. All right, we
appreciate you so much.
Speaker 3 (58:12):
Make sure y'all listen to them, big woman Choppa And
when we come back, we have asked yee eight hundred two,
nine fifty one fifty I'm here, Jasmine Brand is here,
and the award winning advice giver whose birthday is coming
up and he is a little out of it.
Speaker 5 (58:25):
Mano is in the building. It's way up with Angela yee.
Speaker 2 (58:28):
Everybody since, whether it's relationship or career advice, Angela's dropping
facts should you should know?
Speaker 5 (58:34):
This is ask what's up? This way up with Angela?
Speaker 11 (58:37):
Yee?
Speaker 5 (58:37):
I'm Angela yee.
Speaker 3 (58:38):
Jasmine Brand is here, yes, and the award winning advice
giver Mano is here, and it's time for asking Hey, hey, hello, Hi.
Speaker 5 (58:48):
What's up? Anonymous? Calor?
Speaker 7 (58:49):
How are you?
Speaker 13 (58:50):
I'm fine? I'm fine?
Speaker 5 (58:51):
How are you you fine? All right? What's your ask?
Ye question?
Speaker 13 (58:55):
How do you lead someone without damaging them? Even know
that there are bad times on both ends? We kind
of rekindled twenty nineteen. It started on bad terms and
I was basically trying to make him happy instead of me,
and it caused a lot of tension and he said
(59:17):
some harmful words and caused another situation. And I believe
that's the reason why we're abunded but not together, if
that kind of makes sense. So I really do not
want to be this person. I do not love them
like they love me at all. And throughout these three
and a half years, he still thinks that after all that.
Speaker 9 (59:38):
We've been through, that I still him.
Speaker 3 (59:41):
And he said to be with him, you know, sometimes
staying with somebody who you don't want to be with.
Speaker 5 (59:47):
Does them more harm than good too?
Speaker 13 (59:50):
Yes, So I've made the decision and it has much
of the most extreme as I've got him.
Speaker 5 (59:58):
Got a restraining order Okay, okay, I had to do
that before I tell you you have to do it.
Speaker 13 (01:00:05):
And he violates all the time like that doesn't mean anything.
He's stating to kick down my children. Have his family
do those things? And I've votified authorities they have done nothing.
Speaker 5 (01:00:19):
Oh wow.
Speaker 13 (01:00:19):
So I've been trying to go a different route on
how should I be a situation without any harm?
Speaker 4 (01:00:26):
Do you have any means to protect yourself legally?
Speaker 13 (01:00:30):
I did have that, but a situation happen where he
followed me right after our order of protection hearing and
I had to use my firearm, but the local police
department took it. So I'm unarmed right now. And yes,
he is still free.
Speaker 5 (01:00:45):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:00:46):
Have you spoken to his family members or anybody that
can help make sure that he doesn't do anything to
And I want to say, I hope that you're not alone.
Speaker 9 (01:00:54):
Ever.
Speaker 13 (01:00:56):
Yes, I have both to his family. They are aware
of the thing that he is doing, but they're like
trying to stop him or trying to control him, but
just basically give them more AMMO and things to talk
about amongst themselves. First help them the situation.
Speaker 3 (01:01:12):
Now, have you filed in contemptive court for violating the
protection order? Have you done that since he's still doing
these things even though you have a restraining order?
Speaker 13 (01:01:20):
Yes, I have. They will put a warring apple his
brest and they would take him up, but they can
only hold him for twenty four to forty eight hours
and they will be time for That's terrible.
Speaker 4 (01:01:32):
This happens all This happens all the time too.
Speaker 13 (01:01:34):
I know, yes, and it's very hard for the people
that's really trying to get away from these people. You know,
it's pretty hard for US men and women to you know,
get business to help because it happens so much.
Speaker 3 (01:01:46):
And then they way tell something that you can never
come back from. Happens before they can act, and you know, yeah,
can you move someplace where he has no idea where
you are?
Speaker 13 (01:01:57):
I can. I'm working on that now. But he has
people that well look up my location and all the
type of things. Like I went out of town one
time and he did not know where I was gone,
but he called from a different number and basically called
me everything that I had on who I was with
(01:02:18):
a satellite thing.
Speaker 4 (01:02:20):
That's crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
And when you go to the police station, do you
go in person and talk to somebody? Yes, I do,
and they just still a saying they can't do anything
about it.
Speaker 13 (01:02:29):
They take my statement and they'll do a report. I
hear from a detective. Then they asked me if I
want to pay charges. I say yes. They put a
warn out for him they don't pick him up, that
it's him to get them up. If not, then it
just says that he's not there, and then there are
more problems that will occur after that.
Speaker 4 (01:02:48):
Can you get another firearm?
Speaker 13 (01:02:49):
Yes, I'm working on there as well. When I purchased
my next gun, that will be my third gun that
i've had.
Speaker 3 (01:02:55):
Okay, all right, well listen, I want you to really
try to get someplace where he cannot find you somehow,
some way. But I'm also concerned for your safety, So
I want to get your information, and I want to
see if I can get in touch with somebody that
can be maybe somebody that's more of a position legally
to do something.
Speaker 5 (01:03:14):
Okay, all right, so let me figure that out. Hold
on the line.
Speaker 3 (01:03:18):
Okay, our produce is gonna get your information. Okay, thank you,
all right, thank you for calling.
Speaker 5 (01:03:23):
That is concerning yo.
Speaker 6 (01:03:26):
They don't do nothing late.
Speaker 5 (01:03:28):
It's too late.
Speaker 6 (01:03:29):
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 5 (01:03:29):
That's a shame.
Speaker 3 (01:03:30):
They make it really hard for somebody that's being stalked
in harassed, protect them and whose life could be potentially
in danger. All right, well that is ask ye when
we come back. We have last word eight hundred two

a big event and you cannot wait until it's over
because it is a lot of work beforehand, enduring, and
then when it's done, you for the.
Speaker 4 (01:04:56):
Can I say something Angela. Angela doesn't like to talk
about herself or big up her, but yesterday was a
really big deal. She's very modest about her accomplishments. And
I think one of the great things about you, and
one of the great things about Angela Yi Day is
that it actually gives back. It's free, it's for kids,
it's for black and brown women and men, and I
feel like you don't really talk about that that much.
(01:05:16):
And I just want to say the crowd loved you.
Everyone came up to you, they took pictures. People were
so excited to see you and meet you, and I
think that's cool. But also the whole part of you
giving back, I think it's super doping.
Speaker 3 (01:05:27):
I know you don't talk about it a lot, but
I know shout out to the Social Justice Fun to
that point, because they did donate twenty five thousand dollars
to four different organizations that really assist with black women's
maternal health care. And so that's really important to me
because we care about that. Yeah, it's something that we
talk about all the time up here. So I just
want to stress you know the importance of that, and
(01:05:49):
I just want to thank everybody for coming out and
being in the building, you know, for yet another successful year.
Speaker 4 (01:05:57):
They keep getting better on the loan of Angela Yego

it's so important.
Speaker 3 (01:06:20):

also performed at Angela Ye day, so shout out to her. Yes,
oh nice, Yes, she had the hula hoops on the stage.
And Chinese Kitty is also going to be joining us.
She was there as well, so when we're talking to
her at some point soon it's way up at Angela Yee.

I do have a question.
Speaker 10 (01:07:36):
Is there a fine mind between thoroughly being yourself and
imbrasing your change or protecting your karma?

Enough?
Speaker 5 (01:07:46):
Going way with Angela ye,
