Speaker 1 (00:03):
What's up his way up at Angela. Yee, I'm here.
Jasmine Brand is here. I'm here and back again. Sasha
Vickery is here. Hey, Sasha, how are you feeling again?
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Well, first of all, you're in town for US Open qualifiers. Yes,
so talk to me about how that's been going. I
saw a big congratulations for you.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Yeah. Yeah, one of my first round and I was
injured for a few months. I had some shoulder issues.
But yeah, for my first tournament back, it went well.
I played great, And yeah, I'm just happy to be
competing again and.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
We're happy for you.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
But you've also been going viral, and so I know
everybody's been dying to hear from you firsthand. So first
of all, thank you for coming here to just kind
of share your thoughts. And this is all because you
have an only fans account, which you were very open
and transparent about. You did a Q and A with
your followers and you talked about it and you said
(00:55):
it's the easiest money that you've ever made. And so
I think only fans sometimes can have this stick where
they think that you're on there, like, you know, naked
and doing stuff, but talk to us about your OnlyFans account.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
Yeah. So I started my account in uh in January,
and I was, you know, people were reaching out to me,
and I had opportunities to do an of TV show,
which was a pickleball show that I did and I won,
and yeah, I joined the platform. I was kind of
just like, you know, let me see, I'm just gonna
post like some playful stuff, like you know, if I'm
going to the beach or if I'm going here, like
(01:27):
I'm gonna post like, you know, just a little bit
more than what I do on my Instagram. But I
think people, you know that you have to realize there's
different levels to OnlyFans. So there's athletes that are on
Only Fans.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Rowlings is not only what.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Yeah, yeah, there's different avenues like cooking shows. Yeah, I
just did a pickleball show. So it's not always like
just going on there and you're just seeing like you know,
porn or whatever it is. It's like you can be
on there and do playful stuff and find other ways
to make great money there, which I've done.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
And there's other tennis players that are on Only Fans
as well.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Yeah, yeah, there's a couple others. There's a Nick Kyrios.
He's he's one of the bigger ones. He was in
the show that I did. Yeah, another French tennis player.
So I mean there have athletes on there. I just
feel like, you know, I got a little bit more.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Yeah. Yeah, if we had to ask you why.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
I personally think, you know, just being like a black
woman and obviously my whole life, I've you know, I've
been curvy, like I've I've had a body, like I've
been in good shape, like I've always kind of been
objectified a little bit. And and I mean there are
other tennis players that I mean they have lingerie conten now,
(02:44):
like they have like lingerie deals and they're posting a
bunch of stuff, right, I've never seen that any type
of backlash, Like, and you know, I was like playfully
doing a Q and A with my followers, like I like,
you know, I troll a lot with my followers and stuff,
and and people were asking me, like, you know, what's
your dating life like and this and that, and I
was kind of just like, you know, like I approached
(03:06):
thirty and at this point, like I'm not wasting any
more time, Like now you've got to give me a
pre date deposit, give.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Me a thousand dollars that talk to us about that,
because I was I love predident that people were talking
about that if they want to take you out on
a date, you needed this positive one thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Is that true or were you trolling?
Speaker 3 (03:23):
It was just trolling.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
It was It's not a bad idea.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
I mean surprisingly, like I'm telling you, I've gotten like
positive feedback from that. People were like, you know what,
that's like not a bad idea.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
And for de positive feedback.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Yeah, like you know when you have a hair appointment,
you know you got to make your.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
Depos before you make your booking.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Yeah, exactly, so if my time is wasted, I need
that deposit. But it was just joking, and you know,
like I got so many like requesters like okay, we're
ready to pay, Like when is.
Speaker 5 (03:58):
You never need to do because because Angela talked about
the story on her show and I was like, well
that weeds out the people that are not serious, like
the guys that are not serious or whatever have then.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
You want me.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
It's like when you sign up for a dating app,
some of them are really expensive, but you sign up
for a match maker. Yeah, a lot of times that
will cost even more than a thousand dollars and you
don't even.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Know if you're a match with somebody.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Yeah, and I just feel like in this generation, like
it's just a lot of time wasted, you know, because
it's like everything is so fast and quick and and
you know, you, you know, you start dealing with this person,
but then like after two weeks they're like, oh, like
it gets boring and and I don't know, I was like, yeah,
I got to a point I'm start taking my deposit,
so I have some type of incentive.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
But on this side, but all this attention, albeit it's annoying, right,
But on the flip side, has this help with the
numbers because now everyone knows you have an OnlyFans and
I have to assume it's what twelve ninety nine. Yeah,
I have to assume that that is making people go
and sign up too.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
I mean I've had like a tremendous flip. Like I
was already you know, doing pretty good, like you know,
for just starting out doing good numbers, but then you know,
like all these other networks and stuff like they've been
reaching out to me, and it kind of like skyrocketed
over the past couple of days. And again, I'm very
transparent on there on what my content is. I mean,
(05:16):
I have pinned on my profile, like you know, I
don't do naked content. I don't do nudes like I
do playful bikini lingerie stuff.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
And you have bikini stuff on your Instagram.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
So it's not like, like you said, this is just
different more content, but you have that on your Instagram.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Yeah, so it's not like you know.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Yeah, and even when you play tennis, I mean we
get to see your curves and cover yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
Yeah. But it's like the thing is with me, it's
like there's there's nothing I can do about that. Like
my body is my don't like you know, yeah, you know,
and sometimes like I don't know, like I kind of
get body shame for that. They're like, you know, your
butt's too big, like you're this It's like that's just
how I've been like that since I was twelve, so.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
To me, yeah, and they are people who are paying
for that.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Yeah. And I'm Caribbean at the end of the day,
like I just have those genes. So like it is
what it is, and I'm using it to my advantage.
I'm not running away from it anything.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
And I do think the other thing that can happen
is somebody like people see a story like this and
they don't know the Sasha Vickery background, like how you
even got to where you are today and what you've
gone through, what your family has gone through, because tennis
is an expensive sport for anyone to get into, and
so for you, there were a lot of sacrifices that
were made and you made more money doing this than
(06:30):
perhaps playing tennis.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Yeah, no, I've obviously I've done well in my tennis career.
You know, I've done really well, and I was able
to build a life for myself, and you know, I'm fine,
like if I really I really don't need to do
only fans. But again it's like if it's free money
and it's just something and then side hustle, Yeah, I
enjoy it. It's like a side hustle and it's just
easse and it's fun and it shows another side to me.
(06:54):
And again there's not many tennis players on there, so
I have that tennis market already, so it's like, why
would I not use that to my advantage. I want
to venture out and do other things outside of tennis,
like I want to you know, at some point like
do TV stuff. So it's a good avenue.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
I'm all for it. Like I didn't have any.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Problem with it. That's why I was like confused. But
I also think when a story goes viral and people
talk about it and people make judgment and like you said,
you are a black woman, and that always hits different
for people, right, there's always more issues with that. We
think about how even Serena on the court had so
many issues when it came to every damn thing you know,
and so just to see this, but people who are
(07:33):
new to you don't know the story and don't understand.
And I think people also have this idea that you're
a tennis player, you're playing in the US Open, you
won championships.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Oh she's rich.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Yeah, so yeah. One thing people that don't really understand
what tennis is, Like I can spend easily, like without trying,
one hundred to one hundred and fifty K a year
and that's on coaching, hotels, food flights. It's I cover
everything myself and I have my whole entire life like
I've never had financial backing, Like I've done everything myself,
(08:05):
which is ludicrous because most players you have some kind
of backing, whether that's like your country, you know, your federation,
a private sponsor. I never had any of that. So
I've funded my whole career myself. And another thing with
the only fans is I now I can I can
fund my career for a couple more years, you know,
(08:25):
just being on that platform. So that's another thing. It's
people don't understand how expensive tennis is. You have to
invest into your future. All the money that tennis players make,
if you're not inside the top fifty, all that money
goes back to into yourself, right, it's into your training.
How much you don't pocket it?
Speaker 6 (08:42):
How much roughly does a coach cost, like a decent coach,
a decent tennis coach.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
One hundred k year, I want to say a lot. Yeah.
And then you know, obviously when you're in the slams,
you know you're making good money. But then people don't
see the other you know, thirty weeks.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
And you haven't been able to play for six months exactly.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
When I'm six months of like you know, just at
home and I have to rehab my shoulder, and people
will look at it like, oh, like she she's stopping
to do only fans. I'm like, no, well, if I'm
going to be off that time, why not make something, you.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Know to the content happened, Yeah, a financial blanket.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Yeah, it's kind of did they approach you? Did Only
Fans approach you? Because I know they do approach people.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Yeah. Yeah, So they reached out to me to do
the of TV show, obviously seeing that I was a
tennis player and all that stuff and just getting started
on the platform. And in the future, you know, I
think they're gonna try to work with me to be
an Only Fans athlete, which is the same thing I
was talking about with you know, all the other avenues
that they have on there, with comedians and cooking and
(09:44):
travel videos. So that's that's the goal for me right now.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
There was a period of time I remember they were
trying to get rid of all the X rated content
on there. Yeah, and they were such a backlash from
that yea, that they ended up not doing that. But
Only Fans has certainly been trying to make sure they
bring other kinds of content onto the platform, right just
because of how people view it, you know, and so
I can see this being part of that.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Now, pickleball, Yeah, talk to me about that.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Do you how do you look at that as an
avenue of a way to make money, because, like you said,
you had your pickleball tournament and your show that you did,
and now it's like pickleball courts everywhere.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Yeah. No, that pickleball is fun, you know. Like I said,
when I got approached for the show, at first, I
was like, I mean, I never played pickleball, Like, I
don't know anything about it, you know, but when you're
a tennis player, you transition into pickleball very easily.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
I can imagine.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
Yeah, it's the same like hand eye. It's just like
a smaller paddle, smaller court. But honestly, it's really easy
for a tennis player. So when they brought the show
to me and they're like, oh, it's twenty thousand for
the winner, I was like, yeah, like I'm gonna do it.
And you know, and the other creators on there, who
are massive creators on OnlyFans, you know, they they're not
like they don't do sports and stuff like that. So
(10:56):
I feel like I already had like an upper hand.
But obviously I knew what that came with that. I
knew that was gonna come with scrutiny like anything being
attached to OnlyFans. I already was prepared for the backlash,
like I said, already being a black woman, Like everything
is already like amplified. If I do something, it's gonna
get talked about way more than what a lot of
other girls are doing.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Right, Well, I want you to take advantage of that. Yea, yeah,
that's why we're here.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Yeah, so I'm taking advantage of it. And it's like
I'm not hurting anybody, you know, I'm just you know,
having an extra income.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
You know, are there a lot of creeps on there?
Speaker 3 (11:29):
There's a lot like you see, you see a lot
of there, honestly, Like there's a lot of creeps on there.
But again, I make it very transparent with all my subs,
like this is what I can offer, and this is
what you're gonna get for me, and if you're happy
with that, great, If not, like, feel free to unsubscribe.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
Creeps be paying, I'm sure, yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
But they pay, Like sometimes they just pay to talk
to you. Like sometimes they're just like I just want
to talk to you on you know, on video, like
let's just have a five minute chat and even things
like that, like you can just be at home sitting down.
It's like, why not take advantage of it. It's like,
you know, it's just it's ease, and it's you know,
it gives you a little more financial security. People actually
for feet pictures, Oh yeah, I've gotten, I've gotten.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
How would you write your own feet from one to five?
Speaker 3 (12:10):
Well, I'm an athlete. I don't have mad feet, but like.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
Like three, I say like a four like an athlete
kind of like.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
You'll be surprised. Like people are like, no, no, no,
I love like athletes like feet. Like I just want
to you know, I want.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
To send your feet.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Yeah. I'm like really, they're like yeah, like to tell me.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
That saying that somebody has said to you.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
I think one guy he wanted me to play a match,
and he was like, can you send me your underwear,
socks and everything that you use during the match. And
I was like, I was like that that's a little deep,
Like let me see how much first, and then.
Speaker 4 (12:57):
What was he willing to pay?
Speaker 3 (12:59):
He was willing to pay like, are close to a thousand?
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Okay, if anybody needs a stuff, I have one sitting here. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
Yeah. People will think that's a big deal and I'm like,
I'm not that serious. It's not that serious. Right, given
my clothes to somebody to pay me a thousand.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
Dollars for it, I can buy this again.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
Yeah, you want my dirty socks, no problem.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
As you're thinking about the future now and what you're
gonna do, because like you said, you have and I
know that you've come from a background of hard working
your mom, your brother, everybody. So as you're thinking about
the future and making this money, what are what are
the things that you want to do for sash A
Vickory Yeah, I know.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
Just making it clear, it's like, I'm still an active
pro tennis player. I'm still very much invested in my career.
Like I said, a lot of my money from only
fans is going back into funding my tennis. Yeah, like
doing rehab and physical therapy and all that. It's expensive.
So right now, I'm still focused on my tennis. I'm
going to play the rest of the season make up
(13:59):
for the time that I missed out on for those
six months. Yeah, and I'm going to continue exploring other
avenues too, while I'm still very much focused on my tennis.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
What was all of this mentally hard for you? Because
people were saying kind of crazy things, and maybe the
approach you not having really necessarily spoken out. You said
a couple of things, but not just really getting into
to death with it. Was it hard for you to
hear what people had to say or were you able
to block that out?
Speaker 3 (14:25):
Honestly, no, because being on tour, like the the amount
of messages we get, like after you lose matches, like
any athlete will tell you, like you get death threats,
like you get like I've gotten like you're a monkey,
you're this, and like I wish this on your family death,
you know, bizarre. Yeah, And we get hundreds of those messages.
(14:48):
So that's something we've I've been dealing with for ten
plus years.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
I would let to pull up on some of these people.
Speaker 6 (14:53):
Would I would love all those kinds of hateful messages
and then put their picture they work.
Speaker 4 (14:59):
I would love to like shin of Light.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
Yeah, and I've been called everything in the book, caught
and picker to this and you.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
They would say to your face ever, yeah, and then
you know what they probably look like.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Yeah, but I have I have a thick skin. I've
always had a thick skin. And like you said, when
you go into an avenue like that, you can't really
be offended from what people have to say, like you
kind of have to expect it, like that's just what
it comes with. And I'm ready to accept that. And
like I said, I have a thick skin. I've been
dealing with that stuff my whole entire life. And you know,
(15:30):
if you feel that strongly about it, pay me my
revenue that I.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
Make on there, come on here and send me a message.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
And send me send me a check if you if
you feel that strongly and want me to get off
the platform. But until such time, let me do me.
I'm gonna do my thing. You do your thing. I'm
not hurting anybody. I'm making a better.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
Life for myself, okay. But I love to see it.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
And I thank you for coming up here and sharing
with us, and good luck. Thank you, and I'm glad
you're back on the court.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Thank you so much. Thank you for having me. I
love coming here.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
Yea, next time you come in here with your man,
you know.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Yeah, we'll see about that deposit first.
Speaker 5 (16:04):
I'm just kidding running up but still
Speaker 3 (16:09):
You know, it's like
