this together. Yeah. I love all the day. I you know,

(00:25):
certain things I do, but some things that I don't
know how much it is gonna if it like changes, Yeah,
every month. I don't do auto pay because I want
to look at it first. Yeah. Yeah, I'll I'll forget.
That's how they get you too. Sometimes things could be incorrect,
but if you're not checking it, and because I've had
it on auto pay, then you gotta That's what I'm
doing right now. I'm trying to get my business together.

listen to still a bop. But she has a children's
book out You Will Do Great Things, Oh sweet. Yeah.
She has a four year old son, and so you
can see in the book. It looks like this book
is dedicated to her son, to her son, So we'll

(01:09):
talk to her about all of those things, what's been
going on. She has her book club and she's been
big on that for years. And you have Angela, you
have a book club as well. Yes, I have a
book club too, in Delaye's book Club. So she'll be

whether it's somebody you saw on the news. There was
a lot of tragedy in the news yesterday and we'll
dressed that on the show today. Yes, you know, prayers, prayers, prayers,
like for real, I definitely stopped and said a prayer yesterday.
But call us up. Shine a light on somebody doing
something positive. Somebody you know, somebody you love, somebody you

(02:13):
don't know. We all need to make sure we spread
some love. One hundred two nine two fifty one fifty
is a number. Call us up. It's way up with
Angela Yee and shine a light on them. It's time
to shine a light on them. Yes, it is way
up with Angela Yee and we are shining a light
on them. This is where you get to shine a
light on people doing positive things. Again, that number is
eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. Jasmine from

(02:34):

we want to shine a light on Erica Bennett. She
is from the brand Daily Paper. Yes, it's a clothing
line and she works there. And she is the person
I always contact when I'm like, oh, I'm about to
stop by the store, or my coffee is going to
be in the store. Coffee uplifts people and they have
a like a cafe, yes, upstairs. But they did have

(02:55):
a dinner yesterday, Yes, and she made sure that we
were well taken care of him good. She was the
best host. Yeah, she was the best and she's just
a really sweet, positive person and she's a mom. I
don't know she's a mom. Yeah. I love when she
posts a video of herself and her kids. So, you know,
I just want to shine that light on you, Erica,
that your kindness does not go unnoticed, right when it
comes to that with daily paper? All right, all right,

(03:18):
and now it's time for you guys to shine a
light on them. Eight hundred two nine two fifty one
fifty shame? What's up? Good morning? Who do you want
to shine a light on? Hi? Good morning, lovely cake
twenty five. I want to trying to light on a
lot of females too, has no light because they want
to bring you down. When you're trying to grow, when
you're trying to be your modeling and you're trying to

(03:40):
grow big and go big faces, we have people that
try to bring you down. I just want to shine
a light on a lot of negative papers. Oh. I
don't know if you want to shine a light on them,
but what's happened? I do? I do want to shine
a light on them because they need light. They try
to take away your light, is dim your light? Okay,
let's give the hell little This is the first day's

(04:01):
giving the hater some love. Yes, it's the first. Yeah,
how I hate today? Yeah the hater? Thank you? Love
me kay, talk from a long all right, thank you, Joe.
Who do you want to shine a light on? Yeah?
I need to shine the light on the moola fields

(04:25):
Love to eleven. They got all of this stuff on there.
People better stop bleeping? What's the call? What's it called? Films? Okay, okay, okay, okay,
let's shine a light on that all entrepreneurs and Detroit
doesn't bring it. Make a dream come true for Detroit actors,
so we don't have to move out of town in

(04:45):
order to try seeing on camera on the Big Street.
And they were actually doing acting classes too for everybody.

Amazon prown. Shout out to two By. I'm actually in
a Detroit movie and shout out to my guy Dennis Reid.

(05:27):
What's the name. Of course I know the name of
what's the name? And I was watching two By movies
this weekend. Gravy's actually in a lot of two Be movies. Okay, yeah, yeah,
he's like the Denzel of TB. Yeah. I just I
just messed with it because they're making a lot of
dreams come through people, and I love watching these movies.
That was nothing like ga A round kicking the game?

(05:47):
All right, Well, thank you for calling yea than anything.
All right, Well that was Shina line at I'm eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifty and remember y'all

last night. We took about some of the winners and
some of the special moments. It's way up with Angela Yee,

(06:10):
She's like to talk like they Angela Yee like Angela
Yee's spilling it all. This is yet Yes, it is
way up with Angela Yee. I'm here. Jasmine from the
Jasmine Brand is here. Yes, I am present, Yes, and um.
Let's talk about the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Those were yesterday, right,

(06:33):
honoring the best musicians out there. It was in La
by the Way at the Adobe Theater, and Song of
the Year was Taylor Swift with Anti Hero Okay. Artists
of the Year was Harry Styles all right, all right. Now.
When it comes to Afrobeats Artists of the Year, it
was a tie between Thames and whiz Kid. Oh, I

(06:53):
don't like ties. Well, there's a couple I don't like ties,
Angela go ahead. Hip Hop Song of the Year wait
for You Future, featuring Drake and Thames. Hip Hop Artists
of the Year was Drake Dre Best New hip Hop
Artist was another tie. Gloilla and Lotto Lotto also performed.
She did Big Energy and Lottery at the iHeart Radio Awards. Angela,

(07:16):
I don't like ties continue why not? Because a pick one,
pick one, and I could have picked through this one
for them. Well, by the way, Lotto also revealed yesterday
that she has her own radio show. I saw that, Yeah,
seven seven seven radio. You know who. Her first guest
was Chloe Chloe Belly. Yes, she posted on Twitter my
seven seven seven radio episodes so juicy. I love having

(07:38):
my own platform to talk my ish and then she
said what other guests should I have on? I feel
like that's going to be really good. Yeah, she's funny.
And then R and B Song of the Year was Sissa,
I Hate You. I'm gonna I still listen to that song. Uh, yeah,
I do. I really love that song. R and B
Artist of the Year was also Sissa. Best New R
and B Artists Our Girl Money Long And here she

(08:00):
is at the iHeart Radio Music Awards because you didn't
talk to you for us, and look at you for
arms making, look to you for us, letting on yourges,
telling you jeels, holding you clos for harls. You're doing

(08:35):
a body roll. J Yes, I was. It's actually had
a full orchestra back there, all right. Well, shout out
to everybody who was at the iHeart Radio Music Awards
and all the winners from yesterday. Um and by the way,
of course, Latin Pope recat to an Artist of the
Year was Bad Bunny, of course. All right. I feel
like that fight was fixed in no way. You know.
Shout out to Bad Bunny, all right. And I'm also

(08:57):
want to shout out to Chanel West Coast. You know
she's leaving Ridiculousness. She's been there for a minute. Yeah,
she's been on that show for more than a decade. Wow,
that's longer than a lot of people's marriages. Now, she
shared a press release, and you know she had a
baby recently, did she? Yeah? She did. Okay, she said.
After years of being a part of the Ridiculousness family,
I'm sad to say goodbye to the show, but very

(09:19):
excited to announce my next big venture with MTV Paramounts. Okay,
it's time for me to step off the rare couch
and step into the role of executive producer, she said.
My passion has always been to create, whether it's music, clothing,
or film and TV. I plan to bring some of
my wildest ideas and dreams to life the amazing film
and TV projects, build my teams, and work with other

(09:39):
creators paving the way on the screen. I'm also very
excited for the world to see me beyond the laugh
and for once see the real me. What's the laugh?
You know? On Ridiculousness? She laughs and she has like
a little very recognizable laugh, but some people would say
she just laughs. Okay, you never watched Ridiculousness? Oh no, oh? Sorry?
All right? I mean did you say you can tell?

(10:00):
Because you would know the last if you watched it.
But I feel like it's always on. Okay, yeah, I
never watched a year. I know it's popular, all right.
And she also said that she's grateful for the love
that she's gotten from viewers. Um as she started on
there as well. So I remember her on Love and
Hip Hop? Yeah, I remember, um she was signed to
Little Wayne, she was signed to Young Money. She's done

(10:21):
a lot already. Okay, all right, well that is your
yet and when we come back, Jasmine Brand and I
haven't about last night. Fortunately, we were together last night
as we are fortunately, and it's kind of no but
we did have a great night last night. Now, I
know y'all hearing me talk about this restaurant Tatiana's all
the time. Yes, we were there again, but this time
we were there for a reason. Okay, all right, And

(10:43):
we're gonna talk about that on about last night. It
is way up with Angela yet night. So at last night, yes,
it is way up with Angela. Ye, I'm here. Jasmine
from the Jasmine brand is here. Good morning, good morning,
and we are doing about last night. We had a

(11:04):
long day yesterday, so we were here. We had to
do lip service, which is going to be out today.
Chinese Kitty joined us. That was entertain It was quite
a very interesting. All I know is it was one
question we asked, Yeah, what is something that you've done
you haven't done that you want to and you guys
are gonna really be entertained by an answer. Aside from that,

(11:25):
we also went to a dinner at Tatiana's and that
was for a daily paper. Yes, I shout out to
Erica from Daily Daily Papers a clothing line, right which
I wear all the time. Yeah, you put me on
to them. Yeah, yes, it's a black Own brand. So
we loved that, and so we went to the dinner.
It was nice and we were invited. It was a

(11:46):
small affair people maybe yeah, maybe like twelve people all together.
So it was about twelve people there and we really
didn't know anybody else. We did not Yeah. We came
into the room not knowing anyone. Fortunately you were there.
I really would have only known, you know, I think
the person who invited me, yes, And so we started
talking about this because I also was invited to something

(12:08):
else and it was no plus one right, which is
always weird, Which is weird, and I was like, I
don't know if I want to go someplace where I
don't know anybody and I can't bring somebody with me. Yeah.
I like the concept of, you know, going somewhere and
the meeting new people, but it's very uncomfortable and awkward
to go somewhere by yourself. I feel like, so now
I'm invited to this dinner. And the way that this

(12:28):
dinner is is you're not allowed to really talk about
it too much. But the guy who does it, he
has a book out and you know he's been doing
this for over a decade. But it's a dinner where
you go by yourself. They don't tell you where the
dinner is going to be until you RSVP so mystery
location and confirm you think I should go? Right? Yeah? Go.
The invitation is non transferable, it's only for you, and

(12:51):
it's a group of twelve people you don't know what
anybody else does there, right, and you have to not
discuss your careers during the dinner. They asked you to
not discuss your career, okay, And it's supposed to be
for quote both introverts and extroverts to enjoy themselves. The
guest list is a secret, it's off the record, and
all of those things. I like that. Are you our

(13:12):
introvert or an extrovert? It depends. I think sometimes people
assume I'm an extrovert, but I get a little nervous
in situations where I don't know anybody. Like once I
know you and I'm comfortable, I'm okay. But when I'm
in a situation where I don't know anyone, yeah, I
can be quiet. And yesterday you didn't really know anyone
that well, No, but it was like maybe a few
people you knew. I knew you, Yeah, okay, right, I

(13:37):
knew Erica. It was also do say stunted it. So
there was that. But I did actually meet a couple
of people, so that was nice. Yeah, I'm met a
few people too. Yeah, shout out to Chelsea who was
sitting next to me. But yeah, so I'm just wondering
you think I should go and attend this, right, yes, Angela,
you should go and try something different, something that makes
you uncomfortable. And when's the last time that you've been

(13:58):
somewhere where you didn't know anyone? You know? Sometimes in
LA I would go places where I thought one of
my friends was going to be there. But so I
when you get there before somebody and you're like, man,
now I got to be here by myself. I will
wait in the car and call me when you're pull up.
I like tell me when you pull up. I like,
I prefer to come after you're already there. I think
you're probably um Jasmine. Uh, even though you have your

(14:20):
entertainment site, the Jasmine brand, you might be more of
an introvert. I am more of an introvert. Yeah right, Okay,
you're getting better. Yeah, but I remember one situation. Shout
out to Nah Rodgers. He actually invited me out to
go to this event. Okay, and when I tell you,
I did not know one person at this event. Yeah,
And every time he like walked away to go talk

(14:41):
to people, I was like just standing there. It's so awkward.
But it's I mean, we're adults. We have to be
in these kind of situations, and that's when you like
start looking at your phone. And that's why I was
perfectly trying not to do yesterday, was to look at
my phone. Right, that's when you're start trying to act
like you're busy, and then you're like, listen because I
could get busy and time to drag. You're like, when
is this partn everyone kind of hungry yesterday too? No,

(15:02):
yesterday it was fine. No, I didn't mind that, but
I was starving, yes, But yeah, but there there have
been situations where I've been out like I said that
one and if now I left my side and I
didn't know anybody, and then it's just awkward making comment, Oh,
so what do you do? So what do you do? Yeah, anyway,
we want to hear what you guys have to say
about this. Um, wheren't you go to a party if
it was no plus ones and you weren't gonna know anybody?

(15:24):
And maybe for some people, if you're an extravert, that's
a great situation and a great way to meet people.
Sometimes they tell you, if you want to meet someone,
go to a bar by yourself, sit at the bar,
and then I by myself, and then somebody might strike
up a conversation, right, but somebody like me, I can't
go to the movies by myself by myself. I really
don't go out to eat by myself and things like that.

(15:45):
So I want to hear what you guys have to say.
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. Are you
more Angela where you're like I don't go alone? Are
you more Jazzine where I love to go by myself? Right?
Way up with Angela? Yee? Yes? It is way up
with Angela yee. And Jasmine from the Jasmine Brand is
here with me, yes, yes. And we are talking about

(16:06):
going out by yourself whether or not you do that, okay,
And you said you actually do like to go up
by yourself. Yeah, I don't mind. I don't mind going
to the bar. I don't mind having dinner by myself.
I'll go to the movies by myself. I don't mind. Yeah,
I'm okay with that. But go ahead. I was gonna say,
when I was younger, I used to work in them
all and when we all had different lunch breaks, and

(16:27):
I just remember going to have to go eat by myself,
and I'd be like, I can't wait to go back
to work. I'm great, but I need to eat. But
I didn't want to sit by myself. Like, what is it?
The is it a ful feeling of what's bothering you
about being by yourself? I just I'd rather just be
home or something. Okay, I don't really go out to
eat by myself. I would definitely won't go to the
movies by myself. I don't know what it is. It's

(16:49):
weird that you won't go to the movies by yourself
because literally you're by yourself and no one's gonna see you, right, Okay, Yeah,
I don't know what my problem is. But um, And
I definitely won't travel, like catch a flight by myself,
because I've done that a million times. But I'm not
taking a vacation by myself. I've never done. I kind
of did that one time, but it wasn't you know,
all right, But let's see what you guys think. Eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifty Hey what's up? Hello? Yeah?

(17:13):
What's up? So? Yeah, I could go to that party
as long as I could swop my weed. What if
somebody you don't know, it's like, yo, can I have
some Um? I might do them maybe roll up. Okay
if you do not if you don't have weed, yeah, oh.
If I don't have weed, then yeah, I'm in the crave. Okay,

(17:33):
all right, it's a note for me dog. All right,
got it? We were helping be social deja Hello, Hello,
what are your thoughts? I'm like going out alone. I
absolutely enjoy it. I just started doing it, maybe like
a year ago, and now it's to the point where
I don't what am I going out with other people?

(17:54):
I am doing because be able to do it once
or twice. You know, do you talk to people when
you go out alone? I do? Um. It depends on
where I go though. Um obviously like movies, I don't
talk to people. But if you go out to the
or you know, I'll sit at a bar and just
try to conversate with people. I'm in sales, so that
might be watched. Probably talking to people. What made you

(18:16):
start doing that? Last year? Honestly, I saw a story
of a lady that was left um out of pounds
or actually out of the country, and she decided to
start traveling solo. So I said, let me start just
doing other things solo and then work my way up
to Pavlo so that was my inspiration. Okay, all right,

(18:37):
that's cool. Yes, thank you, but I listened to every day.
Thank you. Would you rather go out with my I
would go out with you, girl, I'm going out with you.
I'll take that, all right, good, I'm flatten. Thank you,
you know proba, y'all have a good one, tight rank. Yes,
it's good morning, good morning, judgment all you guys, this morning,

(19:00):
Good morning, good morning. How are you? We're good? I'm good,
Sorry about that. Do you like to go out alone? Yeah?
Absolutely absolutely. I love going out by myself. I don't
have to wait for anybody. That's true. That's the fact.
And the funny part is, you know, obviously I just
paid for myself, you know, so you ain't gotta worry
about paying for nobody else, right, right. Have you ever

(19:23):
met anyone nice while you were out by yourself? Yeah,
but you kind of have to protect your energy and
just kind of read the rule. That's the kind of
person I am, you know, so, especially if it's the
first time going out to that particular place, right, gotcha. Okay,
do you have you met a lot of interesting people? Yeah? Yeah, definitely,

(19:44):
and some people you you you would rather hang out
with but other people you rather not hang out with
you Just like I said, you know, you gotta call
it out you see it, and you can't be judgmental.
You just chill go out and enjoy and understand the experience,
you know, right, Okay, maybe I'll try it. You got
to try an. I mean, I feel like I've had
to like go sit downstairs and wait for people and

(20:06):
I'm alone. But I don't know, I just for some reason,
I've never gone to different for women though, I think
it's different for women like men where where you know,
obviously masculin whatever. Women just a little bit different, you know,
I don't know, this might be a different situations. Maybe
I'm right. It could be a safety issue. You know,

(20:29):
we don't want anything happening to our beautiful women out there,
you know. But um, as far as males are concerned,
where we're a little more uncomfortable, um, safety wise. And
then it also depends if you were raised by yourself
as another aspect too. So if you're only challenge you
used to being by yourself. You used to go into
the groceries or taking care of everything for yourself and

(20:52):
be very independent. Okay, Um, it doesn't really matter. It's like, okay,
well I usually do this all the time anyway. So
they go hang out the spot's like, and then you know,
I'll decide if I want to come back later. Maybe
next time I'm being somebody then to come back with
them later, you know. So all right, well, thank you
for calling us, no doubt, take care of ladies too.

(21:14):
I could tell he's good at going out and talking
to people. He is. Yeah, all right, Well, guys, looks
like I'm the only one who likes to not be
alone or not be alone when I go out, although
I will say, you know, whenever our listeners. She just
started doing this last year, right, and she enjoys it now.
She don't want to be around nobody. This is on
brand for you, Angela, because you do like people around you,
you you know. So, yeah, I feel like if I

(21:36):
have to be alone, I'm I supposed to stay home,
got it. But I won't go shopping alone. I just
won't sit down and eat, and I won't go to
the movies alone. Okay, that's fair, you know. So yeah,
shopping note all day, and I like to run alone,
like when I go to the park. We can't keep
up with you that's why. Well that's not true. But yeah,
certain things I'm like, I can do it. But as

(21:57):
far as like a meal or a movie. No, All right, well,
next up we have yet and let's talk about retirement.
We'll tell you who is planning to retire after getting
two hundred million dollars for their catalog. About to blow
the lead above this, Come and get the tea. Yes,
it is way up with Angela. Yee, I'm here and

(22:19):
Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here. Angela. It's Tuesday. Yes,
happy Tuesday. Okay, I thought you have more. That's all
I got somewhere. But and you know, I always look
at the Jasmine brand for some of these stories. And
Justin Bieber is talking about retiring. According to Radar Online,
he's thinking about just taking that money. He just sold

(22:40):
his music catalog for two hundred million dollars and he
might want to duck out of the limelight with his wife,
Jelli Bieber. They said he hasn't felt right with the
world for some time, and his stardom weighs heavily on him.
Even his therapist says if what he's doing makes him unhappy,
he should make the hard decision to set it aside. Yeah,
and he's had to cancel his tours. You know, he's

(23:02):
had health issues. They said, Justin Field's the pressure of
the music business isn't good for him. He just wants
to disappear with Haley and enjoy his money. That's a
nice option. That is a nice option. And you know,
like you said, his health and you know he's married,
just some time apart, have a pause, take a break,
and he has a Ramsay Hunt syndrome. So his face

(23:22):
was partially paralyzed for some time. And I'm sure that's
not easy. It's gonna be very scared. And he's been
in this business for so long. He was a kid. Yeah,
so he deserves to leave if he wants to. Who
was it that was talking about? Mayno? Was talking about
Justin Bieber opening for him When he was a little
kid signed to Usher. He didn't have his own songs.
He did all Usher songs. Justin Bieber opened for Mayno.

(23:44):
I love it all right, Now, let's talk about dancing
address Okay. He was on the cover of Complex and
he talked about a lot of different things. One thing
he of course discussed was I mean, who's not going
to ask him now about dating Lorie Harvey. Right, I'm
curious as to why you chose to not keep your
relationship and your love life private. I don't know. I guess,

(24:06):
I guess I'm just growing. It is tough to keep
those things a secret. But yeah, it's great life. It's great,
very very professional, Okay, and great. I can see the
greatness on your face when you guys take pictures and
you just look great. Yeah, it's great. That speedy interview

(24:27):
with him, speedis like, it's great, it's great, that's great.
I could see the greatness because this is this the
first time Dampson has kind of been public with any
of his relationships. Trying to think it also is because
she's a celebrity. We don't we may not have really
paid as much attention before too, right, because I remember
when I interviewed him before, he did say he had
been in a long relation, long term relationship. Yeah, all right.

(24:48):
In addition to that, he talked about his friendship with
jay Z and jay Z actually helping him out. Okay,
is it true that jay Z was a reference for you?
How would you possibly know that for your green card?
He was? But then I shut up? How did that conversation,
go do you ask Jay Z? Does he offer that
up and hold it? But he's done many things for

(25:11):
me over the years. He's always supported me. He supports everyone.
How do you ask Jay? Like? I wonder, how how
do you phrase the question? Can you sponsor me? For
the green card? It was Robbie. Maybe it just came
up in conversation and he said, you want me to
sponsor you? Now? He said he had to ask, yeah,
but maybe it came up like they were talking about
it and then because I can't imagine, it's be like, yo, dude,

(25:31):
would you mind? Did you mind? How do you feel? Like?
Damson probably had a lot of people he could have
asked too, he said. He said, like Rich Paul helped him,
other people helped him as well. Remember Rich Paul wanted
him to play him and he said he wanted to
play Rich Paul in the movie or something like that.
That was a little different. All right, Now the Kardashians.
Are you ready for their season three on Hulu? I
can't believe it's been the third season already? All Right,

(25:54):
here's the trailer that was released yesterday. Everyone has their
own truth of how they think something happened. I wish
I could tell you this is going to be a
miles relaxing, serene season. It's not. There's no sense of loyalty.
I've never seen this much drama in my life. It
all comes back to protecting my pace. We have huge influence.

(26:17):
What are we doing with our power? So let's talk
about it, all right, drama this season? Can I just
say The Kardashians has been over twenty seasons and we
still done did a shallow dive They've been, They've been
over twenty seasons and we still care. Angela said, all right,
well that is your yet and when we come back,

(26:39):
we have under the radar. These are stories that are
not necessarily had line news, but they are flying under
the radar. It's way up with the Angela Yee news.
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar. Yes, it is way up
with Angela. Ye. Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here
with me. Yes. And normally when we do under the

(26:59):
radars or these are stories that aren't necessarily headline news,
but this Nashville elementary school shooting was something that there
was no way we could not discuss today. So so far,
what we know. A police in Nashville, by the way,
are still looking into the background and motivations of a
former student who entered a Christian elementary school. This person

(27:23):
had aar style weapons, detailed maps, and this person opened fire,
killing three children and three adults. Twenty eight year old
Ardrey Hills. Ardrey Hill was shot and killed by police
during this attack yesterday. And by the way, Ardie Hill
attended the Christian school years ago, left writings that pertained

(27:44):
to the shooting and had scouted a second possible attack
location in Nashville, but because of a threat assessment by
the suspect, there's too much security, they decided not to
do that. So there was planned to do a second attack,
but then they thought that perhaps that this was not
going into work because of the security. Oh gosh, all right.
They also determined where the shooter lived in the Nashville area.

(28:06):
They've also interviewed twenty eight year old Audrey Hill's father.
Audrey Hill attended that Christian school years ago, and so
far they're saying little is known about the shooter according
to reports, and they say that Arji Hill is a woman,
a female shooter is supposedly trans but we don't know
all the details on if Arji Hill was identifying themselves

(28:28):
as a male or a female at this time. Yeah,
they said that they used male pronouns on social media.
So it's a little confusing, Yeah, because I think the
mom referred to Arji Hill as she right, right, and
so you know, I don't you know, I don't know
what that is. But the shooter was someone that had
multiple rounds of ammunition, prepared for confrontation with law enforcement,

(28:50):
wanted to do more harm than was actually done. There
were three weapons in a our style rifle and aar
style pistol and a handgun that were found and police
believe that Arji Hill got at least two of the
weapons legally. There was a search who weren't executed at
Hill's home that also resulted in the seizure of a
saud Off shotgun, a second shotgun, and other evidence, according
to police. Now here's what Joe Biden had to say

(29:11):
about these weapons. It's heartbreaking, a family's worst nightmare. We're
monitoring the situation really closely, ban as you know, and
we have to do more to top gun violence. It's
ripping our communities apart. We have to do more to
protect our schools so they aren't turned into prisons. You know,
a shooter in this situation report we had two assault

(29:33):
weapons in a pistol. So I call on Congress again
to pass my assault weapons ban. It's about time that
we began to make some more progress. This breaks my
heart now. According to a former middle school basketball teammates
of RG Hill, she said she received an Instagram message saying,
I'm planning to die today. This is not a joke.

(29:56):
You'll probably hear about me on the news after I die.
This is my last godbout I love you. This is awful.
Can you see you again in another life? Can you
tell us the victims? Yeah? So there all three students
shot and killed were nine years old Evelyn deek House,
Hollie Scrugs, and William Kenney. Three adults killed in the

(30:17):
shooting were identified as sixty one year old Cynthia Peak,
sixty year old Katherine Koon's, and sixty one year old
Mike Hill. This is really sad. Can you imagine? No,
this is awful and nine years old, three students and
three innocent people that were at the school now. According
to another source, a source close to the Hale family

(30:40):
told The Daily Beast that Hall had relatively recently started
identifying as he slash him, and police are saying they
don't know if this played any part in anything. They're
still doing their investigations today, right, and so we will
also keep you updated. But because at this point, I
don't care what they you know, what they identify as.
This is just innocent lives. And the thing is, it's

(31:03):
just this keeps happening. Now. The former basketball middle school
basketball teammate and by the way, that's been talking about this,
Avrianna Patton, also gave some more information. Patton says she
replied to these messages by saying that Hale had so
much more life to live, and Hale replied, I know,
but I don't want to live. I'm so sorry. I'm

(31:24):
not trying to upset you or get attention. I just
need to die. I don't mean no harm. But why
don't you just do yourself? Why are you? Why would
you kill innocent human beings now? Hale went on to
tell Patton that she was being told first because she
is the most beautiful person I've ever seen and known
all my life. My family doesn't know what I'm about
to do. One day, this will make more sense. I've
left more than enough evidence behind. But something bad is

(31:46):
about to happen. According to Patton, Hale had previously spoken
to others about feeling suicidal, so she knew to take
the messages seriously, and she contacted the suicide Prevention helpline
before calling the county Sheriff's office five minut later. Okay,
all right, well that is you're under the radar. I
know it's not under the radar, but we had to
touch on that today. We do have the Way Up

(32:07):
Mix coming at the top of the hour. Plus we
have a Marie joining us. You guys will enjoy that.
It's way up with Angela yeo from Industry Shade to
all the gossip out Semi Angela's spell. Yes, it is
way up with Angela. Yee. Jasmine from the Jasmine Brand
is here with me. Yes, this is one of my
favorite segments. Fyy Angela. Well you have an entertainment site,

(32:30):
so it all makes sense. Yes, all right, Well, sug
Knight is planning to tell his life story. He's gonna
do something similar to BMAPS. According to sources with direct knowledge,
they told did you know what? TMZ has a hip
Hop Division Hip Hop. They had a show. I don't
know if it's still on. Oh TMZ hip Hop. Yeah,
they had a show. Okay, well, according to sources, they

(32:51):
said the series will have a similar feel to BMP,
with plenty of plot time to tell Sug's pre music
industry backstory as a kid growing up in Empton who
wanted to be a football coach. He had an interesting
he has an interesting story, so I'm interesting. I would
love to see this. I want this. Ray Jay gonna
be involved at all? Oh, you know, because ray Jay
has the rights to his life story. That's what I thought,
So I can't imagine that he wouldn't be right. I

(33:14):
don't know. We should ask him? Should we have his number?
Text and do a deep die? We got a group
text on with him, so we'll hit him up all right. Now,
Elon Musk is saying now that only paid subscribers. He's
really trying to make people buy these blue checks on Twitter.
We'll show up in your Twitter four you feed. So
Twitter is only going to promote paid subscribers tweets, and

(33:35):
non subscribers will not be allowed to vote in polls.
So if you don't know what the four you tab
is it's the first screen that you see when you
open the app, and they carry tweets by using an algorithm,
so that means it consurface tweets from people who you
don't even follow. This is, by the way, he's annoying
on Instagram. This is not fun anymore. Angela. Yes, and

(33:56):
soon the four you tab will only recommend people if
you're paying for that tweet blue service. Starting April fifteenth,
he said, only verified accounts will be eligible to be
in four you recommendations. This is the only realistic way
to address advanced AI bots swarming swarms taking over it
is otherwise a hopeless losing battle. Voting in polls will
require verification for the same reason. I am sick of

(34:18):
the bots on Instagram and Twitter. F I saw, I
don't know if I want to pay any four dollars,
but okay, I saw Mark Cuban went ahead and paid
for that blue check. And what did Mark Cubans say?
He was hoping that I guess he was losing um followers, okay,
and so he thought that would help slow it down.
He said it didn't, but he said he does appreciate
the fact that he can tweet longer, Angela, if you

(34:40):
did not have a blue check, would you spend eighty
four dollars for this feature of Twitter? How much? Is
it seven dollars a month? Or it's eight dollars? Oh right,
what do I think? What did I say? Eighty four?
So it's eight dollars a month? Eighty four a year? Okay, okay,
would I do that? Yes, Angela? I don't know if
I care about a check much. Okay, Well me might

(35:01):
not care because you have a check Angela. Oh sorry, yeah, yeah,
but I never had to pay for it. Yeah, no,
I said, if you don't, you didn't have it. Yeah,
I don't know that I would pay for it check. Okay.
I also kind of feel like I don't also don't
want to see people in my four U feed listen
because sometimes I see some things I don't I really
do not want to see. Yeah, and I'll just leave
it there all right now. Little Wayne is disputing his

(35:21):
net worth on Google. Okay, now, according to reports, he's
worth over one hundred and sixty million dollars. Okay, that's
a lot, but I can see it. I could do now.
He did an interview with Culture Millennials, and he said
he would call his agent because why am I not
having this money? Here's what he said, Is it close
or is it offers it honestly? That now I'm mill everybody? No, Now,

(35:44):
so when you go check network to be saying some
crazy numbers, I don't have a sent close to that. Really, yeah,
I don't have that, but I guess they'd be meaning
that's what I'm worth. So I'll be always calling my
agent like I'm telling you, bro, I'm gonna fired you
because I don't need you. And he's like, no, it's
not true, it's not true. I'm a zillion doctor. Let

(36:06):
me see how much my worthy A girl I was
literally doing. You're doing a deep dive of you. Yes,
what is my networth? I think it probably depends on
where you look? I never looked. All right, let's see,
Angels at work is approximately seven million. This one says
six point five million. This one says two million. Okay,
this one says six point five million dollars as of
twenty twenty three. This one, then you are rich? Ye

(36:29):
see seven million on some of these. Okay, let's see,
but one of them says two millions. So all right,
all right, guys, Now, question Love is going to direct
a live action hybrid adaptation of The Aristocats and he's
doing that for Disney. Okay, I'm not familiar. The Aristocats
was originally released in nineteen seventy. By the way, it's

(36:50):
an animated classic, okay, And so people are saying that
he's gonna make his feature film directorial debut with a
reimagined version of that film for what Disney Studio. So,
by the way, Quest Love is always booked him busy.
He's super talented and I feel like he touches a
few things like he's not one dimensional at all. Right,
I mean, he directed his documentary Summer of Soul. Did

(37:13):
you see that, Angelo? Yes, that was pretty good. Yeah,
that was amazing. It got a critical acclaim across the board.
He got an award for Best document Best Documentary Feature
that the Oscars. It kind of got overshadowed, and then
he got the best He got the Best Music Film
at the sixty fourth Annual Grammy Awards a week later,
so shout out to him. He has his podcast, quest
Love Supreme. He got Best in Music Podcast at the

(37:34):
iHeart Podcast Awards for that. You know, he's an author.
He has a lot of titles. He's a music journalist,
an actor. He's actor. Do you know he was an actor? Angelo?
What are he acting? I don't know, but his wikie
says he was. I did a shallow dive and it
said he's actor. So we're just gonna leave it there,
all right. Well that is your yet, m Angela Yee.
And we do have a Marie joining us shirt leave.
We also have asked Ye coming up and we have

(37:56):
Women's History Month when we come back, we're gonna highlight
some amazing me minutes way up with Angela Yee. Oh ladies,
when they ask what you bring to the table, tell
him you brought the table. What do you put? Angela
Yee celebrating the ladies doing Women's History Month. Yes, it
is way up with Angela Yee. I'm here, and Jasmine
from the jazz Man brand is here. Yes, I am here.
And by the way, I want to show some more

(38:17):
love to Cheryl Lee Ralph Okay who was here previously.
They just posted a picture of her son. He's handsome
on social media and women are trying to put their
bid in. Can you imagine dating her son? I feel
like that would be a lot of pressure. Because I
feel like she would be kind of a vocal maybe
about who he's dating. All right, even Beyonce said these
hands she did say, remember that she told us that. Yeah,

(38:38):
you couldn't tell him nothing. After Beyonce said he was handsome.
That made everybody, um want to go look this man up.
Yeah he's cute, he's above medium. Yeah, so that's not
your type, not my type at all. Somebody said to him.
I cook, I clean, I do all the things. All right, Well,
it is women's history, mansea, Let's celebrate some amazing women.
Jass Man, I know you have somebody that you were

(39:00):
very keen on celebrated. Yes, I'm a little bias. I
am an aka, so I wanted to honor and celebrate
ethel hedgeman Lyle. She was the founder of Alpha Kappa
Alpha sorority at Howard University in nineteen oh eight, and
as some of you all know, it was the first
sorority founded by African American women African American college women.
And she's referred to as the guiding Light because she

(39:23):
was the actual founder. Now, just to give you a
little background on her, she was born in eighteen eighty
seven in Saint Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Sumner High
School with honors, and she was the first student from
Sumner to receive a scholarship to actually go to Howard.
And just think about that period of time, there were
only one in three hundred African Americans that attended college
around that time, so that was a really big deal.

(39:44):
And as I mentioned, she was super instrumental in Alpha
Kappa Alpha. She actually started the storty and to establish it,
she began recruiting interested classmates in the beginning of nineteen
oh seven. So her and eight other classmates founded Alpha
Kappa Alpha on January fifteen, ninety at Howard University. So
I wanted to show her some love. And she also
did lots of other things outside of the sorority. She
spent forty years of teaching, which is generations of students,

(40:07):
She helped found civic institutions, and she just did a
lot in the community. So I felt like it was
important to And you got to pink hair, your green nails.
I have green, orange, yellow, blue, and purple. But yes,
and you went to Morgan State. I went to Morgan
State University at HBCU, and I pleasure at Morgan and
I'm a problem. I just don't talk about it a lot, Okay,

(40:29):
all right? Well, yes, so shout out to her for
Winn's History Month, Jazzmine. I wanted to talk about somebody,
bridget Betty Mason. They did just used to call her Betty.
In the mid eighteen hundreds, he had to walk more
than two thousand miles with her enslavers to California while
caring for her three young children. Called on Angela. How
many miles? More than two thousand miles? Okay, that's crazy?

(40:51):
Go ahead, all right. Now. She is the person, by
the way, who invested her money and effort into developing
the area that eventually became downtown Los Angeles. Wow, who
knew a black woman? Right? And so she also won
her and her family's freedom and with the ACLU of
Northern California calls a landmark court case. She also went
on to become one of the first black landowners and

(41:12):
one of the richest women in LA. They're saying what
her value today would be is equivalent to ten million dollars.
That's a lot of money. I lived in I have
a place in LA. Suit. It's just interesting to know
that if that has some history with a black woman.
They actually have a park there named after her too,
So she became a renowned philanthropist in the area. She
co founded and financed the first African Methodist Episcopal Church,

(41:33):
which is now the oldest church founded by African Americans
in LA. She also established a daycare for working parents
and opened an account where families who lost their homes
to floods could get supplies. So just last year, they
did a wreath laying ceremony for her, and the Los
Angeles City Councilman Kevin de Leon called her one of
the greatest angels of our city has ever had. You know,

(41:53):
she was born in Mississippi slave, but died a California
woman of substantial wealth. With all of those obstacles in
her ways, still managed to have a value of what
would be ten million dollars today. She was a working
for wages nurse. She saved some money and that's how
she became one of the first black women to buy
real estate in LA And like we said, in eighteen
seventy two, she founded the first African American Episcopal Church.

(42:17):
That's amazing. What's her name again? They called it Biddy
and they had the Batty Mason Park in downtown LA.
That is a tribute to her. Okay, so she spent
more of her life as a slave than as a
free woman, but managed to do all of those things
and make a lot of savvy real estate investments. And
in eighteen ninety one she died as one of the
wealthiest women in LA. That makes me smile. Oh my goodness,

(42:39):
I love this. All right, we got you. Gotta keep
doing this segment, Angela, I know, we gotta keep it going. Yeah,
all right, Well, that is Women's History Month and we
thank you guys. And next up we're having another amazing
woman who's going to be joining us. We have singer
author mom all of that. A Marie is going to
be joining us. It's way up with Angela. Ye, a

(43:07):
Marie is here with us. Hi, Hi ladies, good to
be here. Thanks for having me. Well, first of all,
you have a new book out of congratulations. Thank you.
You would do great things. This is a children's book
with amazing artwork. And if you hear a child, that's
River and that's River four years he's four years old.
Four Now, Yeah, that's Amory. Sometimes he can be shy,

(43:28):
but he's actually pretty gregarious. He's like Hi, Hello, Hi,
and he's basically like me, and we can just like
stark up a conversation with someone and we don't know
and he's like that. I saw on social media the
other day they were giving you your props too, when
they were just talking about women, you know, um singers
who are have classic songs. Oh that's so nice. Yeah,
I don't go on social media that much, right, so

(43:49):
I've missed a lot. That's so nice. Yeah, it was
they were giving you your props. You were one of
the women that they talked about. And then I was like,
this is great. When they told me you were coming
with this book, you would do great things one page.
I love you would do strange things many may not understand.
I think that's an important message. Yes, And you know,
I feel like a lot of what I was saying
in the book was not just for kids, but good

(44:11):
for adults as well, because if so many of us
we're all individuals, we have all the things that we
want to do, but it's really easy to like have
that tamped down by like society or other people, especially
depending on your circle of friends or associates, is easy
for us to kind of like try to feel like
we need to become more like everybody else. And I
think that our strength is like just leaning into what

(44:33):
makes us different, not saying that. You know, there's some
people out there who are like but I'm not like
weird or interesting. I'm just regular and basic. That's okay too,
you know, just being you, just being yourself. I think
that's important. Yeah, sometimes I feel like people try too
hard to be different. Yeah, because extra and being Yeah,
if you're doing that, then you're still you're still being influenced,

(44:53):
because what's happening is instead of you just being authentic
to yourself that may be different, then really what you're
doing is you're still choosing an identity based on your
reaction to what everyone else thinks. And then you're still
so you're you're trying to be contrary, but that means
you still are basing yourself off of somebody. I can't
stand when people are contarians just for the sake of contrary. Like, Okay,

(45:16):
how did it having a river change your life? Your son?
He I got a lot of human a lot more empathetic,
Like I think I was always empathetic, Like I was
a person like in high school where someone was like,
I didn't like you when I first met you, and
I was like why. She was like, because that's like
she's so fake. She's too nice. I know it's fake.
And then she became one of our best friends, like
she's my sister's friend. And I was like, no, but
I'm just I am earnest like that because I am

(45:39):
a nerd and most most bookish nerdish people are really nice.
But I also wasn't. I did have a lot of empathy,
but not as empathetic. And I definitely wasn't a kid person.
I mean I would see a kid a lady like
getting her stroller together in the parking lot, and I'd
be like, oh my gosh, I feel so bad for her,

(46:00):
like your life is over over. I was like, oh
my goodness. I was like, no dream pressure for me,
not now, And so I didn't. I was afraid of that.
I was really afraid of having a child one day
because I was like, I don't know what if I
turned into a different person, I feel like the same person. No,
I don't think so, because I think I think I
am a lot more empathetic. And by that I just

(46:21):
mean some people have a child and they're like I
found this love that I never knew before. And I
felt that too, but I think mostly like I was like, oh,
I understand like the spiritual teaching. Like I look at
my son like I love him so much, but now
I see that oneness and everybody like a stranger. And
I could say, like I love a stranger. I loved

(46:43):
people before, but now I you know, someone was saying
something and maybe on my first initial instinct was like
I don't know. That's I don't know if I want
to do that. It's just kind of don't I don't
want to do that. And then I was like I
just saw my son and I was like everybody is precious. Everyone.
Everyone is just a special and deserving of just as
much love. And so I was like, this is that

(47:05):
like when they say love a stranger. It's not like, oh,
just be nice. It's like, no, I see you. I
see you, and I love you as like we're the same,
like the thing that's inside of us, like I love
you and I really do love you. It's that kind
of inexplicable yes, that that we're one. That's the spiritual
teaching we're familiar with. But I understood it on a
whole other level. Yes, it is way up with the

(47:27):
angela ye, and Amrie is here with us. You know what.
I love this You just said a minute ago to
about being like bookish and being a nerd, because I've
always been a nerd too, and I'm still a nerd
that I've always been a nerd, but I embrace that,
and I feel like more people do need to embrace that.
Because you have your book club. I have a book
club too. Oh wonderful way, I think I do know
about that. Yes, And I'm an ambassador for the New

(47:48):
York Public Library, and you know they have an amazing
children's library too that you need to go to. But
I feel like people need to embrace that more. Everybody's
trying to. I feel like being a nerd is cool,
list thing that you could be like when I was younger, though,
it was a cool for you when you all were
younger to be no, no, no, you know when I
was when I was growing up, it wasn't. Now listen,

(48:10):
Consequence sent me the song that you were on with him.
How did you end up on the check of Consequence
and Rick Ross? Because cons basically just called me and
he was just like Hey, I have have this thing, I
want to do it, and like I've known him for
a really long time, and so to me it was
just like, yeah, it feels like it can't be that
easy to get am ready to just get on a track,
because I had like a couple of things, like even

(48:30):
from when I first came out, my whole thing was
like doing features, and I think I'm like, did I
ever charge? I can't really remember now, like if with
the label was involved. But normally I don't like to
do that. I don't because I feel like I as
an artist, like if I want to do something with you,
it's because I like your art and I want to

(48:51):
just collaborate, and if you want to collaborate with me,
Like it feels funny to me for someone to be
like I want you to do this thing and they
pay me for it. I'm I don't know, like I'm
not saying it's wrong or anything. It's just for me.
I'm just like two artists coming together to create something great.
And then you can of course figure out royalties and
all this stuff like that. But sometimes I think things
can feel a little bit like you want to get

(49:12):
such such it's gonna be this much money, and it's like,
I mean, are we like selling groceries, are we selling watches?
Or is this like art and creating art? But sometimes
people have a budget for that purpose and they want
to make sure that you get, you know, some money
for your time because I think it's also because I
don't like and then the label. Sometimes the label gets
on things and it's like you feel like certain things

(49:34):
are handled. I won't go into it too much, but
you think at things are handled our artists taking care
of them just like oh my goodness, they didn't like
take care of that person like they're supposed to, right,
so you know what I mean. So, because that's even
like if somebody asked you to come do this beyond
a panel, you would want them to pay you because
that's your time. Maybe she would, Yes, no I would,
because but I feel like I'm not creating a piece
of art though. Okay, okay, I mean, but it's what

(49:55):
it's You're right. It is different because like if someone's like, oh,
can you come sing it this, I don't mess it
up for people in the future. Yesterday's price almost got
a yeah, angels on the line to get the contract right. No,
But like I guess it's like how it feels, right,
because if someone said, oh, they want you to do

(50:16):
this thing, like I'm either going to be like yay
or nay, right, but I'm not going to say, well,
how much are they paying? First? That's not the first.
That's fine. I guess that's what it is. Yeah, And
so people might ask you like, hey, I want you
to get on this track, how much do you charge? Yeah,
people have asked that. Yeah, But for me, it's like
I have to. I wanted to actually do it, and
a lot of times I was like, I don't really

(50:37):
want to do too many collaborations really because you can't
always control a lot of things. And sometimes you do,
but yeah, I just don't do too many of them,
all right, So consequence to think about Angela. All right,
well A Marie is here. It's way up with Angela. Ye,
so make sure y'all stay tuned. We got some more
we here when we come back on way up. Talking

(51:05):
to the very talented, by the way, very intelligent A Marie. Now, Jasmine,
you have a question, why didn't you stop music or
did you stop? Did you just pause it? I kind
of paused it, you know, I did? Um, I released
for um My Holland, and then I released um after
four Hum, which is like a project together. And then
I was like, Okay, let me feel things out. But
I'm really leaning a lot into writing because you know,

(51:27):
I didn't technically announce. We didn't announce it yet, but
I have I do have an adult novel coming as well. Oh,
I was gonna ask you more, Doe. Wait what is
it called. I can't say yet because we wouldn't announce it. Yes,
And it was like it was a lot of revisions.
It was almost like six hundred pages, and so I
was like, oh my goodness. My mom was like, you

(51:47):
have to go to sleep. I finished the revisions when
I was at their house, and I was like, it's
gonna be an all nighter, guys, It's gonna be an
all nighter. So then everyone's all like coming in. Then
my dad's like, how's it going. Do you need some water?
I'm like, oh, I'm good. My mom's like, you really
should sleep, Amy, and I'm like I can't, mom, And
she was like, well, because ANGIEA was with me to
She's like, well, if you have to stay up, but
I guess I'll say I'm on the couch and like

(52:07):
be on the phone or whatever while you're doing it.
I'm like, look, everybody, I love it. I don't have
to up and I was up till the sun came down,
but I got it in on time. So I have,
you know, some more coming novel. It is a novel, yes, fiction,
and I have more picture books, but I also have
more adult novels coming as well. When do you write

(52:28):
your best? Are you like early in the or I
know you had to pull it all night over? Now?
Thank you? Do you write best early in the morning
or in the middle of the day or a night
or what's your kind of writing style? Before River was born,
it was like all day the whole time. I would
just write everywhere all day, hotel, lobby. I'm writing after that,
like you realize you just get tired, like later on

(52:48):
you know what I mean, You just or you need
to decompress. So now really to be dirt during the day.
Morning is great. Nighttime not so much anymore, because I
feel like even if I feel like I have the time,
it's like that's the time I'm reading for the book
club to Transmitch other books. I want to choose reading
for just things that I want to read, catching up
on a show that time to be a regular yeah, husband,

(53:12):
then I try to language. I do like to try
to learn my language at night. So I'm like, for
thirty minutes or forty five minutes a night, I'm like learning.
You really keep yourself, you know what, car, I never
love it. I love it. So some people will be like, oh,
I'm bored and like this. I never want him to know.
Do you know a second language? Do you know kung fu? There?

(53:32):
So there's so much you know. I was like, there's
some showing places. I was like, I need it. I always.
But I'm just saying there's too many things in life
that you can do. If you're bored, it just means
you're not being imaginative enough. But with the things that
you can do, yes, it is way up with the
angela ye, and Amory is here with us. It's writing

(53:52):
your first love now over music. Writing is always my
first love. Okay, I'll say that, like I wrote since
I was seven, Okay, so I would write staple story.
So someone my mom was like, actually, when I run
into music, she said, what about writing? I thought you were,
you know, going to write, And I was like, I
can do that too, Mommy, I can do that any age.
Right now, I need to get on this day. You

(54:13):
know that's crazy because I was an English major and
I always wanted to be a writer from when I
was young. Also still want to do it. Yes, I am,
I'm going to you. Just do it and start. I
have a book club I can go to when I
when I'm ready, Yes, just start. I agree with that.
I have some stuff done. Okay, I'm learning some things
about you, angel I did. I did not know you

(54:33):
were a nerd? Yeah, No, absolutely, like my whole life
and I'm proudly a nerd. You know what made you
decide to name him river? Also, that's just the name
we just really liked, Like, you know, we really liked
that name. I love that it's a water name. You know.
Lenny always felt like water to me. His color was
always blue, My favorite colors blue. I loved. One name
I really liked was Hey, SU's okay, And Lenny was

(54:53):
like and so he was like that everyone's gonna think that.
He's like. I was like, we're not. I wish what
you have. I mean, I'm like Shaquille O'Neal is Irish
or even if you know, Jonathan before you know, we
like River, I like we like River too. I love

(55:13):
River the best, Okay, but I also did like Hay
sus and for a girl. I also liked Valentina for
a boy for a boy. I also liked Angel. My
husband's like what I again, Yeah, he was going on.
I was like, but I love that name. I love
Angel as a boy's name. But I love River the best. Well, a, Marie,
thank you so much for coming through, and I hope

(55:35):
that we get to see you more. I'm excited for
your new book and I would love to see you more. Yeah.
I would love to just come and chat whenever you
want whatever. All right, well, Amrie, thank you again so much.
Nerds you night, Nerds you night. No, we'd have to
like nay, Jasmine does the high five way up in

(55:56):
Angela ye, And when we come back we have asked ye.
That's where you guys get to ask us anything you
want and we will help you out. That's what we're
here for. Our way up with Angela Yee is for y'all.
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty is a
number call us up right now. We cannot wait to
be on board with our advice on way up with
Angela yee, everybody with its relationship or career advice. Angela's

(56:18):
dropping facts. What's up? It's way up with Angela Yee.
I'm here and Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here
and we got Chris on the line. Chris, what's your ask? Ye?
All right? So basically, my girl, I mean, this is
not a new thing. Female's going period. They have the
menial cycles, but you know when she gets on her
she's extra moody. And my question is, you know, how

(56:40):
do I really go about females on the menial cycles?
Should I leave him alone? Should I do the opposite?
You know, but you can't just be normal or what
do you mean? No, he cannot be normally? Thank you?
Thank you? Oh that's what I'm asking. What is the
best thing to do because as a man, you want
to make up comfortable? Whatnot? You tell? I mean, but

(57:01):
at certain times and nothing's working because she's on her
natural type body and she's going through stuff in her head.
So I'm just asking. Listen, Jasmine, let me tell you something.
Jasmine did not come out for my birthday trip one
year because she had her period. Yeah, it was I
have really I I have really bad crame. Well, I
have really bad cramp and every woman is different. Angela

(57:22):
doesn't have have severe cramps. I used to have really
bad cramps before I had a baby. And so you
saying your girlfriend is very moody during her cycle. Yeah,
she said. She said she has bad cramps too, and
I would tell her like it could be worse. She's like, no,
this is the word no that you know. The answer
is not telling her it could be worse. That's number one,
because you have no idea what it feels like. You
need on you knowing, like, yeah you have, you don't

(57:44):
know what it feels like, so you can't tell. That's
like her telling you if you got kicked in the testicles, Oh,
it could be worse. You're like nope, Like this is
about it. But what does she say when you ask her, look,
how can I best uh support you during this time?
What does she say? She says she says, she feels
like I don't know um her own space or she

(58:07):
could think about stuff and whatnot that has nothing to
do with me or whatnot. I guess she just going
through stuff mentally. But I'm telling her, like I understand
you're going through these things. But as a man, I
could feel a way because I feel like I can't
doing anything for you. He can't, can't, No, no, you can.
You can get her, but that's kind of frustrated sometimes though,

(58:28):
not being able to listen. But you have to. But
you have to be at piece with it. So you
she wants her space, so you give her space. If
she has a favorite meal that she likes around that
time or right before her cycle, if she likes dark chocolate,
or maybe she likes a heating pad, or maybe she
just wants you to check on her every now and
again and just give her. If she just wants space,
that's really simple, and you gotta, really, you gotta. You

(58:50):
have to let go and know for a week every month,
this is you know, this is how you support. You
support support her invisibly, like you just do a little
small things that might help her be more comfortable. But
if she says she wants to be left alone, at
least she's telling you explicit directions. Yeah, you can even
tell she'll tell me that, but then she'll say, oh
where you are or stuff like that. You know, we listen,

(59:15):
it'll change sometimes, so before her next ccle. You say, hey,
do you know what you think you'll need? Because I
just want to be prepared. If not, it can change,
I'm okay with it. Maybe get her a little gift,
little little period packet, give her, like some of her
favorite snacks, and some app believe or whatever medicine she
likes in a little heat pad, and and mind your
business and just check on her, you know what. The
it also doesn't hurt to see. Sometimes certain foods and

(59:36):
things can affect how your period affects you. So on
a holistic level, there might be things that could be
beneficial that you could do some research on that could
be helpful for her. Definitely, when I changed my diet,
it got a little better for me. So that may
be something she want to consider too. Now you right,
you right, because the other day I've started a d
and I shared with her. She started following, Yeah, right,

(59:58):
we look I feel like, yeah, will definitely work through
this though. He's a good boyfriend. Yeah, thank you, Thank
you guys. Okay, take care bye. All right, Well that
was asking you see. We can answer anything, yeah, except
what it feels like to get kicked in the testicles
eight two nine two fifty one fifty is a number
you can have your last words in case you couldn't

(01:00:20):
get through, call us up and you can always at
any time during the day leave a message. It's way
up with Angela yee. Take up the phone tapping and
get your voice herd with the word gives the last
word on way up with Angela yee. What's up? It's
way up with the Angela Ye. I'm Angela ye. And
Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here. Hey, hey, but

(01:00:41):
that was a fun Tuesday. Thank you to a Marie
for joining us today. Her children's book You Will Do
Great Things is available now. Yes, to make sure I
feel like I got her to start charging people. I think, yeah,
yesterday's price is not today's price. I guess now, Yes,
consequences like I'm glad did this happened after we did
a song together. But yes, so thank you guys for

(01:01:03):
joining us today. You know we have a lot going
on up here. Yes, we do. Way up with Angela yee.
I've been enjoying it. I mean, check out the Dominique
Fishback interview. That was a really good fun conversation too. Yes,
really like her. I've been supportive of her. She's from Brooklyn.
So you know how I am. She's super talented. I
can't wait to see your Transformers too, that's coming out
this summer. Anthony Ramos is in that too, and that's

(01:01:26):
another friend, and I know he Everybody told me he's
gonna come up here for that, so I'm excited to
welcome him up here. Also shout out to a daily paper.
We went to a dinner at Tatiana's last night for
Daily Paper for Women's History month. How many more days
we have left? Left? Three more days? What is this?
Is this March? Yes, March thirty one? Yeah, so we
have thirty days? You know how I remember what has

(01:01:48):
thirty days and what has thirty one? Tell me thirty
days has September, April, June, and November. All the rest
have thirty one except for February. Okay, you know that
little thing that I've heard part of that I don't Yeah, okay, okay,
all right, are you going to play pay for your
checkmark on Twitter or no? Angela, I'm not going to
pay for checkmark on Twitter, just asking who people are

(01:02:11):
paying for it? So yeah, I'll pass. All right, Well again, everybody,
thank you all for joining us. Now we always tell
you that we love for you to h leave your
last words. If you can't get through during the show,
you can always call us eight hundred two ninety one fifty.
I expressly asked, is that the river? Expressly? I don't
think expressly, expressly, strongly, expressly. Let me see if that's

(01:02:36):
a real word. Um, I explicitly asked the right. I
think in the context you're using it, I think explicitly
maybe or okay, expressly does mean explicitly and clearly okay
doesn't sound right? Continue, Angela. I looked it up. I
just did a deep dive. Um. So I explicitly expressly
asked for a phone number with a voicemail so that

(01:02:57):
you guys could do that, because I hate to think
that we're missing some good fun calls. And I know
a lot of times people are listening to God want
to say something like today we talked about would you
go out by yourself? Right, I should have said, would
you go on vacation by yourself? Because you'll go out
by yourself, but you won't take it that first. I
will not go as far as a vacation. I would
like to though. Okay, all right, So I know a
lot of people wanted to call in and weigh in

(01:03:18):
on that. Um, if you go out to dinner, to
the movies and things like that by yourself. Again, we
are always taking your calls even when we're not here.
All right, eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty
is a number. It's the way up with Angela. He
love y'all. What's up? Mail from Minnesota. I'm gonna shine
a light on you man, you go you are, And Jasmine,
I see you getting your money up. You're a big

(01:03:39):
inspiration for my daughter. I'm just saying keeping hey, Angela,
your topic is going out by yourself. Tell yeah, do
your damn fight and enjoy yourself, put your dres all
your makes up, all, get your head done, do you
and enjoy that. A good day. Thank you? What's up?
This is by I mean yeah, I traveled by myself

(01:04:02):
all the time on business for business m and at
the end of the day, you can't really depend on
anybody else to write or travel with you because if
you wait on them, you might never get to do
what it is you're trying to do. So yeah, do
what it is that you want to do. And you know,
if you buy yourself, you buy yourself. It's sometimes you're
wanta find by yourself, but if not, that's cool too.
But me, yeah, by myself. It's just better that way.

(01:04:23):
And I just wanted to leave this minute for a Marie.
I just want to say she's an amazing artist. I
know she's been through a lot with this amazing and
she too, and I just really want to give her
her prompt And I love her book club. I think
that she's doing something really positive for the black community.
So I pray that she stays protected too. Going way

(01:04:47):
