I saw that he was on social media and he
seems like he's really going through it. It looks like
at a BT Awards party he got into it with
let me from zeus And so I do want to
shine a light on ray J. You know, I was
talking to Sukihna and I know they work together extensively,
and so many people have talked about how ray J
has helped them with whatever it is that they have
going on. He's been in this business for a long time.
(01:44):
He actually helped the Breakfast Club. You know, he gave
us our Radio Hall of Fame award. And I just
want to, you know, show some love to ray J.
So you guys should all make sure you go on
his page and put some hearts and do all of
that because no matter what, sometimes is a little off
the chain, but he always does mean well. So shout
out to ray J. The Tronic's Network. Now, who do
(02:05):

BET Awards. We are in the media house. But and busy.
Yeah yeah, man.
Speaker 5 (03:04):
Could you ever have imagined, like even a year ago,
being where you are today?
Speaker 4 (03:09):
Yes, that's getting manifested.
Speaker 10 (03:12):
It.
Speaker 11 (03:12):
Yeah, yeah, definitely, and prayed on it and just like
worked hard towards it.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
You know, what do you do to rest and relax
or do you?
Speaker 11 (03:20):
I try as much as possible. But I've been watching
the Bears. The season just came back.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
Made the cooking show. Yeah you West the Bear?
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (03:29):
Can you cook? I can.
Speaker 11 (03:30):
I can make a couple of little things. I like
using an air flyer. So I'm kind of like a
cheater when it comes to cooking.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
I'm gonna be honest. Using the air fire is not
easy to me.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Really.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
I try to use it one time.
Speaker 5 (03:41):
I think I might have did it wrong because I'm
not good at reading directions.
Speaker 11 (03:44):
Well it's really simple, okay, so that means zero.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
It's terrible cook I know.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
No, I actually can't cook other days. You know what
it is.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
I'm a different generation, okay, So like the air fire
is something new for me.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
I hate electric stoves.
Speaker 4 (03:58):
I have one.
Speaker 11 (03:59):
That's why it's hard for you, Like I do it.
It's impossible to cook on the electric sol.
Speaker 5 (04:04):
ICEPECX was going to make a meal and I was like,
all right, girl, come over, I got six people coming.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
I need you to cook.
Speaker 11 (04:09):
What would you make I'd make a plate of plant
based chicken nuggets for everybody.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Okay, in a airfright?
Speaker 4 (04:15):
Are you vegan?
Speaker 1 (04:17):
No, No, I'm not, but I like plant based things.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
And the album is coming out, your debut album. It
is July.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Twenty sixth, twenty six. I'm so excited.
Speaker 11 (04:26):
Why two K's almost here, We're going on tour. I'm
really really excited for that.
Speaker 5 (04:32):
You know, it's interesting because you put out so many
hit singles.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Yeah, it kind of feels like.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
Icepecs don't have an album out yet, you know, because
you have so many songs that I feel like people love.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
What is it that you think that young women relate
to you so much?
Speaker 12 (04:45):
For?
Speaker 11 (04:45):
Like, I think I think young girls like pretty girls
because when I was really young, I just looked up
to anybody pretty.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
So I think that's the That's the first thing.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
You know, what you've been you for a long time.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
When we get to see it all flashback pictures of
you when you were younger, I'd love to see.
Speaker 11 (05:00):
Is that you play volleyball and I, yeah, you know,
I really missed that. I really really do miss playing
volleyball a lot.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
I think the volleyball players are always like kind of fire.
Speaker 11 (05:10):
Yes, and you know, like the uniforms are so cute,
like booty shorts and stuff. I definitely still be in
my volleyball uniform these days.
Speaker 5 (05:17):
It feels like no matter what, like people do try
to come for you, but it feels like you just
like whatever, like I'm gonna just do it even more
like the single fat but it's like, okay, you go
a halblem with this.
Speaker 11 (05:27):
Let's just it comes with the territory, you know what
I'm saying. That's something I had to learn over time.
It definitely wasn't easy off the rip, but it's something
that I had to like really understand, like, Okay, this
is what it comes with, Like you feel.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Me, Yeah, I get it.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
I think percentage wise, and more people that love you,
the more people that also don't like you, because as
those numbers go up, everything goes out.
Speaker 11 (05:50):
Yeah, it's like the ratio kind of stays the same,
but it's just like on a bigger scale.
Speaker 5 (05:54):
How hard is it for you to be like a
sex symbol too? Because you definitely are.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Thank you, But.
Speaker 11 (06:00):
I feel like that's just always been the case, only
because I've always been built like a little more ahead
of my time.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
That but yeah, I.
Speaker 11 (06:08):
Always had a fat but so I had to get
you to that real early, like being cat called and
stuff like that. You know, I grew up in the Bronx,
so it's just traveling the streets and everything. I constantly
had to deal with that. So it's just like I
feel safe for now. Actually I always have security.
Speaker 5 (06:22):
So you know how guys used to be like if
you they chat to holler and then you don't answer,
and they'd be.
Speaker 11 (06:25):
Like, well if you you don't even look at that
game and for her big yeah, yeah, love experience.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Not well you know what, we got security now, so
don't even try it.
Speaker 12 (06:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
Well, honestly, congratulations on everything. You know why two K's
out so much. It's not not gonna be no delays,
any surprises for us by the album.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
If it's no delays, you said.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
Yeah, it's not gonna be delayed.
Speaker 11 (06:45):
It's not gonna be no delayed July twenty sixth, why
two K?
Speaker 4 (06:50):
Okay, any surprises for us.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Or a couple a couple stay tuned.
Speaker 5 (06:54):
Okay, I'm looking forward to But congratulations and everything. I
love that I got a chance to see you from
it's been like a year and a half since the
last time I got to see you in person.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
But you say that longer. Yeah, yeah, thank you though,
okay say soon.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
All right, Well that was I Spice, Thank you so
much for joining us, and we are going to be
joined by Shahboozi in a little while.
Speaker 7 (07:12):
You know.
Speaker 5 (07:13):
He was on Beyonce's Cowboy Carter album on not just
one but on two songs, and he also performed at
the BET Awards, and he also bought Jay kwanaut for
his performance.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
But Tipsy is way up.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
You're tapped in the way up with Angela y I'm
turning cutuity.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
What's up? It's way up, I'm Angela yee. My guy.
DJ louis v is here BET Weekend.
Speaker 8 (07:34):
Let's get it.
Speaker 5 (07:35):
Oh man, Shaboozi is here. What a big deal to
have you sitting down. Everybody's like she's doing a tight schedule.
Speaker 7 (07:40):
He gotta go.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
So how does it feel for you to be doing
the BT media House?
Speaker 8 (07:45):
Oh it's cool.
Speaker 12 (07:46):
I've been doing a lot of media houses, but b
it is met is one. Y'all got a lot of
It's a lot of vendors in here. Man, it's a
lot of people, it's a lot of it's but it's
a lot of people of culture, Like you know, it's
cool to's like, like see so many familiar faces that
I've been watching for the past, you know, I mean
twenty years, you know.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
I mean, how has everything been for you?
Speaker 5 (08:03):
Like listen, I know you've already been doing your thing,
but I feel like it's a whole new audience too.
Speaker 7 (08:08):
Yeah, it's crazy.
Speaker 12 (08:10):
You know, we've been working so hard for like so long,
and yeah, I feel just like we just feel prepared,
you know what I mean, Like you just feel like
I feel like go mode, really, you know what I mean,
just trying to you know, maintain and just keep working.
Speaker 8 (08:21):
I got to ask how to Beyonce change your life?
Speaker 13 (08:24):
Oh? Man?
Speaker 12 (08:25):
Man, I mean she's I mean, that's I don't know
how to even put that in the words sometimes, like
how to describe that. You know, it's not even it's
not something you even wake up in the morning thinking
there's a possibility of anything that can happen in your
music career. You know.
Speaker 8 (08:38):
She don't even really do that many collaborations to begin
with to get too. Yeah, that's big, what's crazy?
Speaker 12 (08:44):
Yeah, you know, and honestly, I don't think we you know,
I knew we had too until the album came out,
so that was crazy too to you know. Even sometimes
I was like, I don't know what y'all want me
to do on this one.
Speaker 8 (08:53):
I want to say that you by yourself kind of
second guess you're like, But as soon.
Speaker 12 (08:57):
As it happened, you know, it was like, oh no.
When I heard the parts I was supposed to, I
was like, oh, I know exactly what to do. And
then you know, like the first the sweet Honey Bucket one,
like that's for real?
Speaker 8 (09:06):
Who produced that?
Speaker 12 (09:06):
He from Virginia Patsy Klan who she interpolated Patty Klin
for the chorus Virginia, and then you got me Virginia.
So it's like there's some maybe I don't know, it's
like it seems like, you know, it's it coincidence, you know,
I think not.
Speaker 8 (09:20):
I don't know, but I was just just cool though. Yeah.
Speaker 12 (09:22):
And then Spaghetti the same thing, Like I heard the
back half of it and I knew, I knew exactly
what to do. I was like, I gotta get this one,
so so they knew, you know what I mean, I'm.
Speaker 8 (09:31):
Forever grateful for that.
Speaker 10 (09:32):
You know, do you feel like you're a part of
a new wave now, you know, like where everybody's noticing
because it's just.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
Like our music.
Speaker 5 (09:39):
And I think people look at country music it's not
being taking it back, Yeah, because I did. Mickey Guy
was performing and she like performed and I was like,
this is nice to see that's festival.
Speaker 12 (09:49):
Another thing too, as much as we said it's ours,
is like people haven't accepted the music either. Like a
lot of times when I was growing up, Oh what
job in music? You listen to listen to everything buck country?
And like you know, like why are people saying that?
Just trying to understand and figure out, like what's the
reasoning behind it. But it's cool to see people accepting
the music now and then you can have those conversations
(10:10):
of like oh this is this does have roots here
and it came from here, and you know what I mean,
because the story about country music isn't it's about people
coming together, you know what I mean. It's actually about
like slaves going into like the Appellations and meeting the
Irish whatever people, the Irish workers, and then they started,
like you know, they brought the band shown and they
were indentured servants and they were sharing the music together.
(10:31):
They were playing music and talking about stories together. So
it's really music that starts with people coming together. It's
never a music that was like it's our music that
we're taken in all this.
Speaker 8 (10:40):
It was really just like what music is.
Speaker 5 (10:43):
Well, definitely love their representation that you bring for us.
So I appreciate it and we are looking forward to
seeing you. And we got to make sure we get
out to these tours because that something special.
Speaker 10 (10:51):
I'm definitely gonna be at the show in the all.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
Right, so your wine glass up before you leave.
Speaker 5 (10:58):
Day, all right, ya you know what I mean. Shahboozie,
thank you so much. All right, but that was Shaboozi.
Thank you so much to him for joining us. And
just all y'all know, when I walked into that media room,
they came up to me and they were like, where
are you at? Shahboozie wants to sit down with you,
and I was so excited. And after the interview he
said that he wanted to make sure we had a
chance to talk and that was his last interview he.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
Did before he headed off to rehearsal.
Speaker 5 (11:20):
So we so much appreciate that and when we come back,
we have asked yee eight hundred two nine two fifty
one fifty call us up any question you have.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
I'm here to help its way up.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
It makes sense whether it's relationship or career advice.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Angela's dropping facts.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
You should know. This is ask what's up?
Speaker 5 (11:36):
His way up with Angela? Yee, I'm here, my guy
Mana was here, not just mayno, but the award winning
advice giving Now okay, and today we have an anonymous
caller for asking, yee, what's up?
Speaker 9 (11:47):
Hey? What's going on? Afternoon?
Speaker 4 (11:49):
Good afternoon? What is your question today?
Speaker 9 (11:52):
I recally just got out of a let's say, five
year relationship.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
Okay.
Speaker 9 (11:57):
I had a little side thing going on, and that
side thing decided to blow things up.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
Okay, so you cheated and you're side piece told on you.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Yeah, pretty much.
Speaker 9 (12:05):
So it's been like a month and a half you've
been broken up. So the side piece wants to take
me out on vacation eight four. I don't have to
pay anything.
Speaker 7 (12:17):
I see you, Okay, I'm a man.
Speaker 9 (12:19):
I don't I don't. I don't even you know, I
don't even go like that. But I'll pay for something.
But she already got the ticket. I'm just trying to see, like,
is that a good idea? I mean, I kind of
want to work things out with my ex, but it's
kind of hard.
Speaker 5 (12:31):
If you're trying to work things out with your ex,
the worst thing to do is go on vacation with
the woman you cheated on her with, not necessarily.
Speaker 9 (12:38):
And then look like at the time, I'm thinking like,
I'm gonna be too paranoid because she's gonna have this
over my head.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
So trust me.
Speaker 5 (12:45):
That was supposed to be the sad piece and I
play her position as a side piece and told on
you already, trust and believe she's gonna tell on you again.
Speaker 7 (12:53):
My boy, listen, I know. I mean you can listen
to me.
Speaker 13 (12:58):
Listen to me.
Speaker 7 (12:59):
I got go ahead.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
That's about you in the situation, and.
Speaker 10 (13:05):
My dog listen, check this out. What you need to do.
Sit them both down, take them both on vacation.
Speaker 13 (13:13):
Listen.
Speaker 7 (13:14):
We want our cake and eat it too. That's the
that's the thing about.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
I wish it. I will go ahead and that. But
the woman that she.
Speaker 10 (13:22):
It's all on the way you present your story. It
ain't what you do, it's how you do it.
Speaker 8 (13:26):
You sit your.
Speaker 10 (13:27):
Wife down, the one that you really care about and
you tell her how sorry you are.
Speaker 7 (13:30):
But you tell her who you really are.
Speaker 10 (13:32):
Let her know that you flood man, let her know
that you got things about you that you.
Speaker 7 (13:36):
Can't let go.
Speaker 9 (13:37):
Man know, you want me to tell her I'm a dog,
because I really am.
Speaker 7 (13:41):
There you go be honest about who you are.
Speaker 4 (13:44):
Let her know, all right, dogs of a feather?
Speaker 7 (13:47):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 10 (13:48):
And then you take them both on vacation and y'all
have the greatest time.
Speaker 7 (13:54):
Yeah, keep that in mind. Bro, I'll tell you I
got the best advice. I'm telling you I'm the greatest.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
So you're just going to be seeing.
Speaker 5 (14:00):
It's love, bro, love you have on the right brand
today it's rude, all right, Well that was asking eight
hundred and nine fifty one fifty. You can also hit
man and what directly?
Speaker 8 (14:11):
I got it in his impact?
Speaker 7 (14:13):
Got it?
Speaker 13 (14:13):
I got it. I'm trying to tell you.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
And when we come back, we have L. L. Cool
J joining us. It is way up to do this.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Yeah yeah, more way up with Angela on.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
Now you know who it is.
Speaker 4 (14:27):
What's up? It's way up, and look who's back. It's L. L.
Cool ju u up.
Speaker 5 (14:32):
First of all, you know, people had thought that this
AI track came out, but it wasn't Ai.
Speaker 4 (14:37):
You and eminem.
Speaker 6 (14:38):
Oh, yeah, that was a it was a leaking. Yeah,
they'll hear the real thing when it's when it's time,
you know what I mean. I don't even want to
put too much on it. I just want people to
wait until that till they hear the real thing.
Speaker 4 (14:49):
So whit we're hearing a real thing.
Speaker 13 (14:51):
The project will come out in the fall.
Speaker 6 (14:52):
Right now, just kind of focused on you know, this
Saturday Night special and just the excitement around that song
and just just the energy that is created, and you know,
the amount of views it got so quickly. I'm just
really glad to just show people that it's possible for
you to have to continue in this game as long
as you can.
Speaker 5 (15:10):
You know what I'm saying now, Fat join Rick Ross
on this song together. What made you say this is
gonna be the trifecta?
Speaker 6 (15:16):
Well, I just felt like, you know what I was
saying when I wrote the song, When I wrote you know,
my verses and hook and all that, and me and
Tip working on it, I felt like they embodied a
lot of the ideas that I was expressing, or they
could relate to a lot of the ideas that I
was expressing, and I felt like Fat Joe and Ross
both being consummate hustlers, both being really focused on getting
(15:36):
it and going to that next level. Will understand the
mindset of the different characters that I was describing in
the song. So when they jumped on the joint, they just,
you know, just that was like icing on the cake,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (15:47):
You know, it's a blessing. I'm sitting here interviewing Llo
cool J and people. It's like a show in itself,
Like for people to get scared your responses.
Speaker 4 (15:54):
That happens, yes, because you know, I still.
Speaker 5 (15:58):
Being all myself, you know, just being able to sit
here and have these types of conversations. So if people
are asking you about longevity, because like you said, you've
been doing this for a long time. You've managed to
stay relevant in the game. You still put out music,
do what you need to do. What would you tell
the younger artists, because it is just the way that
artists development is different nowadays. Putting out music is different nowadays.
(16:19):
What are some things that you would say are some
must when it comes to having longevity.
Speaker 6 (16:23):
You gotta love it. I use a basketball metaphor to
help people. Kobe was in the gym day in and
day out tirelessly, even as a little kid, because he
loved it. Lebron was in the gym day in and
day out as a little kid because he loved it.
Michael Jordan was in the gym every day as a
little kid because he loved it.
Speaker 13 (16:39):
Steph Curry and the list goes on and on and on.
Speaker 6 (16:41):
So the thing is hip hop and making music and
art is not a stepping stone of other things. It
can be a gateway or a segue into other areas
of the business and life and entrepreneurship and all that.
But ultimately, you gotta love it like money is a consequence.
It's like being in the NBA and getting it when
you see people with the champagne and the cigars and
(17:02):
they got the trophy and everybody one. That's a consequence
of putting the work in right, you know what I mean.
So you don't get into this just for the money.
That's gonna be a real tough road to be down.
You gotta really love it. You can't allow the highs
and lows to affect what's going on inside of you,
you know what I mean. You got to make sure
what's inside of you is affecting what's going on outside
in the world. You gotta know who you are, regardless
(17:24):
of the time you are in the period in your career,
you know.
Speaker 13 (17:27):
What I mean.
Speaker 5 (17:28):
And last thing I want to ask you about is
this new project. You said you just shooting the visuals
for it. Oh yeah, yeah, So it's.
Speaker 4 (17:33):
Fine, is it?
Speaker 5 (17:34):
You know, because I know you've been working on this
for quite some time. Yeah, shout out to Q Tip
and you're like, come on, let's go.
Speaker 4 (17:39):
I know you're anxious. Well it's going.
Speaker 13 (17:42):
You know, it's like anything else.
Speaker 6 (17:43):
If you know what you're doing, you know when to
be aggressive, you know when to lay back, you know
when to put the extra pressure on it, and you
know when to like let the pressure come. So it's
about it's the vibe and I feel great about it,
you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 13 (17:54):
And we're gonna get into it, you see.
Speaker 4 (17:56):
So all the visuals for all the songs are just.
Speaker 13 (17:58):
We're gonna see, We're gonna see you.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
Okay, I continue all right to continued.
Speaker 5 (18:02):
They said we can't be here next year, and you're like, okay, now, yeah,
but I might.
Speaker 13 (18:07):
Do that to you. I might do that to you.
Speaker 8 (18:09):
Okay, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
Well, right now, satur Night special, I gotta test you.
Speaker 6 (18:13):
I gotta test your theory and all. That's how strong
you all man?
Speaker 7 (18:16):
