She's from Brooklyn.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
But shout out to Laila.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
She's only eighteen years old and we're gonna get her
whole background.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
But let's start to show off with some love and positivity.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Happy Black Business Month eight hundred two ninety two fifty
one fifty less China Light.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Look, we don't like the fuck up.

Speaker 9 (01:31):
Turn your lights on, y'all spreading love to those who
are doing greatness. Shine light on.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
It's time to shine a light on them all right
his way up.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
I'm Angela yee manos here no man, And today I
want to shine a light on somebody. Tamala Pane. She
just turned forty four years old yesterday. But her son,
Casey Goodson Junior, was shot and killed by the police
by Franklin County Sheriff step Jason Mead in December of
twenty twenty, and just a couple of days ago, the

(02:04):
Franklin County Board of Commissioners voted to approve a seven
million dollar settlement in his death. But every single day,
and I've had her on the Breakfast Club previously, she
posts about her son and how much she misses him.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
And basically they were looking for somebody. They had a warrant.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
He was not the person the police were looking for,
and they went to his home, his grandmother's home. He
was holding a sandwich bag and they said he had
a gun in his hand and he may have been
carrying a gun. They said he was licensed to carry,
but in his hand he had a sandwich and they
shot and killed him. And so she's been trying to
get justice. So she posted on her page and I
just happened to see it today because I definitely follow her.

(02:41):
She said, happy forty fourth birthday to me. Thanks to
everyone for the calls, text, post flowers, gives money, etc.
Overall it was a good day. But she said, thanking
God for how far I've come, just from last year.
At this time on my last birthday, I was in
Miami smoking a gang of weed, and this year I
hate the smell of it. Praying that God continues to
lead a guide my footsteps through this thing called life.
I do know, for the rest of my natural life,

(03:02):
I will dedicate every year to building one heck of
a legacy for Casey, so that when I'm no longer here,
his name will still will still be said and his
story will still be told. Waiting on the ultimate goal,
the true victory conviction in November. So she's still waiting
for justice for her son, Casey Goodson.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
G who they want to give community to him.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
We'll talk about that later, but you guys make sure
you follow her. A miss underscore tea underscore pain Casey
Goodson Junior's mother. Now, who do you guys want to
shine a light on? Hey, Rico, who you want to
shine a light on?

Speaker 5 (03:30):
I do want to shine a light out on Braden Abandon.
He's my nephew and today is his sixteenth birthday.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Oh okay, Braiden is our happy sixteenth birthday. That's a
big age.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
I know he's going to be so embarrassed, but I
did this.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
What's he's so excited for him?

Speaker 5 (03:48):
And he's such a good kid. I think he deserves
to lead shine a light on.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
And is he going back to school soon?

Speaker 5 (03:53):
Yeah, he's going back to school, so he'll be going
to his junior year.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Okay, what's coool? Let's shout him out so everybody knows is.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
Him shout him as in high school?

Speaker 3 (04:02):
Well, Kentucky, all right, shout out to you, Brandon, happy birthday?

Speaker 4 (04:07):
All right, thank you for calling.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
Thanks Angela keeps doing a great job.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Thank you all right?

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Well, that would shine a light and when we come back,
Oh my goodness, Cardi B an offset. Apparently Cardi B
has filed for divorce. No, we'll give you what details
we do know so for I know this breaks your heart,
but I will We'll talk to you guys about all
of the drama that's been going on with Cardian Offset.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
It's way up yet, is next?

Speaker 9 (04:32):
Yo, She's about to blow the lead ab off this
But let's get it angelus feeling that yet, Come and
get your tea.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
All right, this way up, I'm here, Mano's here, and
let's get into this yet.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Oh my gosh, this is breaking news.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Cardi B has filed for divorce from Offset. Now the
latest rumors that he cheated. They said that was not
the straw that broke the camels back for Cardi B.
But the rep, her rep is the one that confirmed this.
To pay six, they said Cardie is seeking primary custody
of their children. And they said, this time is it?

(05:09):
She is not folding this time because she has not.
You know previously people have felt like they're putting together before, right, Yeah,
she has. But there's been all these rumors about Offset
and like you said, he says, Shorty's not my shorty.
He has spotted with his ex girlfriend.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
So that was his ex girlfriend.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
Yeah, what's her name?

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Said is it pretty red, Pretty Red, Pretty reds yes,
and they even showed that he was on FaceTime. The
mom I guess, pretty red mom, why would do that?
Posted them on FaceTime together. Now they said divorce. The
divorce did not come as a surprise for offset because
they both had been trying to figure out what their
future looks like for a while. Now, it's not something
that happened overnight. They've both been on the same page.

(05:50):
They wasn't pushback. They've grown apart, and that feeling has
gotten stronger over time. It's become unavoidable. They've been married
since September of twenty seventeen, and they have split up
several times. But there's also rumors that she's pregnant.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
It ain't a rumor. They look good and pregnant to me.

Speaker 6 (06:05):
You know.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
She hasn't announced it yet, and now that has he.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
So until they say, you know how it goes until
somebody says, hey.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
She actually says it.

Speaker 10 (06:13):
But I just want to say this though, Surety, ain't
mon shorty shorty, Hey about shorty?

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Oh my gosh, how does she always have shorty?

Speaker 2 (06:24):
That's the line.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Missing his grandma. He always does things all right? Well,
I guess enough is enough, so we shall see. And
in the in the midst of all this, like I said,
you know, I don't know if she's having a baby
or what, but we don't put that on anybody till
they tell us. All right, j Lo and Ben Affleck
are finalizing their divorce. You know, he bought a new

(06:47):
house and people are saying he did that kind of
to be petty. He bought it on her birthday. Uh So,
while they have finalized and necessary paperwork with a final
attempt to save their relationship failed. So now they've listed
their mansion. It's for sale for sixty eight million dollars
anybody who's interested. But also he did buy a four
bedroom New York City penthouse. She also sold her four

(07:12):
bedroom New York City penhouse for twenty three million dollars.
And so now they're going to do a joint statement
about how much they love each other and fought to
make it work but couldn't.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
He's a boss title, right, he put the paperwork in.
Am I correct?

Speaker 3 (07:25):
I don't know if we know that yet, Okay, but
they were definitely while she was doing her press run divorce.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
Rumors and she did not She's been married question about that.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
So you know, I mean, listen, you gotta keep trying, right,
you get right back on that horse.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
That's right. I guess you're right.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
All right, Well that is your Yet when we come back,
we have about last night. That's where we discussed what
we did last night. I'll tell you what I was
doing watching Donald Trump's interview. It was absolutely crazy at NABJ.
But right now, let's have some fun. Tommy Richmond million
dollar baby, and our guest later on today is in
this video.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
Layla, it's way.

Speaker 9 (08:00):
About last night.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
I went down.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Oh my goodness, mayno's here, Yes I am. It's way
up at Angela yee. And we got to talk about
last night. Let me tell you what I did. When
I was on my way home, because I didn't get
home till probably around like six o'clock, I was in
my car playing the Donald Trump NAVJ interview.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
I don't know if you had a chance to see it.
I know all that he said, but it's like thirty
something minutes long.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
When I tell you, it was a hot mess from
the very beginning, Oh my goodness. Like, first of all,
he didn't like the way that he was being questioned
from the door, because of course there's certain things you
have to bring up, like the way that he's treated
black reporters in the past, different things that he has
said about black people, calling them animals and things like that.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
And he just didn't like that.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
Question, and he kept saying how horrible it was, and
so it starts off with that, and then he also
was just saying anything. You know, he was talking about
Kamala Harris. Now, did you know Kamala Harris is black?
Have you known that for quite some time?

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Right?

Speaker 3 (09:08):
Because she can't, to you conveniently be black when she's
you know, as you want to spread this boss narrative
about lacking up black people and being a black prosecutor.
But then at other times she's Indian. She's both she's
black and she's Indian. She's always talked about that. She
went to an HBCU. She's an Aka. I mean, she's

(09:30):
a black woman. Here's what he had to say.

Speaker 11 (09:32):
Though I've known her a long time, indirectly, not directly
very much, she was always of Indian heritage and she
was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn't know she was
black until a number of years ago when she happened
to turn black and now she wants to be known
as black. So I don't know is she Indian or
is she black?

Speaker 10 (09:50):
She is, yeah, But he's something about the way he
talked his nonsense is very comical.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Did you see when he grabbed the water bottle? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (10:04):
What are you doing, sir? But anyway, Kamala has responded
to that. Here is what she said.

Speaker 12 (10:09):
This afternoon, Donald Trump spoke at the annual meeting of
the National Association of Black Journalists. And it was the
same old show, the divisiveness and the disrespect. And let
me just say, the American people deserve better.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
I mean the other thing that And let's not forget
what Donald Trump did with Barack Obama saying that he
wasn't born in the United like he just said anything
and anybody who can defend that is that is wild
to me.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
He said all kinds of things. Last night.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
He said that Democrats support abortion in the ninth month.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
That is illegal. You can't have an.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Abortion you're nine months pregnant. Nobody, nobody thinks that. That's
what he was saying. When I tell you absolutely anything,
last night are yesterday in the after noon, it was
a wild show. And then he was just being disrespectful.
He was saying the sound was bad, it was messed up.
He was blaming one of the oh you have this

(11:07):
messed up sound. You guys started late.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
It's disrespectful.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Anyway, we have a lot more to talk about. But
that was my about last night. I don't know if
you watched that whole thing, but to me, you see
a lot of incompetence there. All right, and we'll talk
about police immunity and under the radar and what he
had to say about that because he did not even
know about Sonya Massey at all.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
He I think he said was bad.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
I think come on, all right, Well, anyway, when we
come back, we want to talk about Cardi bing offset
she has found for divorce. It's saying that this is
the final, like this is it. It's no going back.
She's taken him back before. We want to know for
you guys, when you think about getting divorced, because I
feel like a lot of my friends that got married
have gotten divorced. What was the final store for you

(11:48):
when you knew because a lot of times you do
want to work on your marriage, you want to save it.
But we want to hear from you guys, what was
the final straw?

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Eight hundred.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
That's eight hundred two nine two. You want to know
my name?

Speaker 4 (12:03):
Way up with Angela, Yes, it's way up.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
I'm here, Mano's here, Yes, I'm yeah right, And we're
talking about Cardi b and off that Unfortunately, Yes, the
two of them are breaking up. According to a rep
for Cardi who gave this exclusive to Page six, she
has filed for divorce. She wants primary custody of the children.

(12:28):
And it feels like the two of them haven't been
getting along for quite some time.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
As far as being in a relationship. They've grown apart.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
We've seen them spot it out together, and I'm sure
they'll be able to co aperent. She even talked about
their house not being in foreclosure and said that's not happening,
but she would gladly sell her half of the house
to him because he loves it so much.

Speaker 10 (12:47):
What we do acknowledge that Shorty wasn't in Shorty though, right.
We do acknowledge that.

Speaker 7 (12:50):
Though Shorty, how about Shorty?

Speaker 4 (12:53):
And so we're talking about your breaking point.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
A lot of people, as we know, get divorced, and
so a lot of times, though you do want to
try to make it work, You go your hardest and
it just doesn't happen. What was your breaking point? Eight
hundred and two, nine fifty one fifty Hey moco, what's up?

Speaker 5 (13:09):
Hey?

Speaker 6 (13:09):
How are you?

Speaker 4 (13:10):
I'm good? How are you?

Speaker 3 (13:11):
It's me and Mana and we want to know about
the final start. Are you divorced?

Speaker 6 (13:15):
Yes, I am. I'm actually going through a divorce right now.

Speaker 5 (13:18):
I find The story for me was.

Speaker 6 (13:19):
When I found him in the bed with his homeboy
at a hotel. They were sleeping in the same bed
with each other, and.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
What okay, that was definitely not what I expected.

Speaker 6 (13:32):
But how I found out was it was all on
social media on Facebook. They posted it on Facebook.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
What so so is he gay?

Speaker 6 (13:40):
Or I would understand like a toe a head and
I had the toe whatever, But no, they.

Speaker 10 (13:45):
Were like they was caddling right, they were spooning, right yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
That means that.

Speaker 6 (13:50):
His video was his other homeboy came into the hotel
and the video they recorded them and they was like, hey.

Speaker 13 (13:56):
Bro, bro, what y'all got doing?

Speaker 5 (13:57):
I'm sorry, what the heck y'all got going on?

Speaker 4 (14:00):
What?

Speaker 1 (14:00):
What?

Speaker 3 (14:00):
What did everybody around you have to say? Were they like,
you know, family friends, I know they've seen it too.

Speaker 6 (14:05):
What so what I gave my gay best friends like
a leader or whatever, But I.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
Don't I don't even see that. Like he's supposed to
be like the hood like hop dog like but the
top dog.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
Allright, Yeah, he's definitely a top.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
The top dog, top busy.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
All right.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
All right, Well, well thank you for calling, and I
wish you loved because you did sound like a lot
of pain in your voice when you called.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Yeah, but she did the right thing.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
Yeah, you can't with nobody else when you're married. I
don't care if it's a man or a woman. Well,
all right, thank you. Hey d what okay, we know
where you from.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
So what was the final story for you to get divorced?
I spent the block, okay, Like we.

Speaker 13 (14:45):
Literally were married half year and then we were having problems.
So I literally was like, you know, you're not cheating
on me, not cheating him. She's like no, no, no.
And we used to live in this apartment complex, the
guy two family flag, the guy that lived downstairs too,
pictures of another leaving her house and I sent it
to her and I was just like, so you're still
not cheap on me? And she just kept lying, kept lying,

(15:07):
kept lying, So I had her served. We were separated,
we got divorced, and literally not even a year to
the date that the ink was dried, we ended up
getting remarried because she was calling me from fictitious numbers
and I finally answered one day and then she was like,
please just give me another chance. So it's started off
slow with the date, whatever, whatever, But then eventually we

(15:29):
got to the point where I was just like, this
is my soul man, and we're doing I'm happy to
report we're doing a hell of a lot better. Like
every day she's open and honest, and it's literally like.

Speaker 5 (15:42):
Night and day.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
But sometimes you don't know what you got till it's gone.

Speaker 13 (15:45):
You know that's true.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
Well, I'm glad for you, d that's dope to hear.

Speaker 13 (15:49):
Thank you very much.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
That's his soul mate, all right, But thank you for
calling up man, And I am honestly wishing Cardi so much.
I know she's been through a lot, and you know,
show ain't his shorty.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
So everybody can move on.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
It's going to be interesting to see who everyone moves
on with, because that's going to be a whole nother story.
But when we come back, we have your yeat and
let's talk about vibes Cartel. He is a freeman today.
Today's also Jamaica Emancipation Day, so that's a big deal
and we'll talk about it. It's way up, they say,
the rooms from industry shade to all of gosp out

(16:26):
angelus feeling that yet.

Speaker 4 (16:29):
All right, it's way up.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
I'm here, my guy, Mano's here, given all kinds of information,
I have to school in the young and all.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
Right, let's get into some yeat now.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Bobby all Talk sat down with Nli Chappa and the
two of them had a very candid conversation about contemplating
and having suicidal thoughts.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
Here is what was said.

Speaker 7 (16:48):
I was just in high school, just started high school.
Oh I tried to kill myself when I was four ten.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
I'm so glad you didn't do that.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
Oh that was a sweet thing.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
And listen, it's it's really important for anybody who is
going through anything to be able to talk about it.

Speaker 12 (17:05):
You know.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Pete Davidson, they've confirmed that he has entered a mental
health facility. He had a really busy year. He recently
had another breakup. He had scheduled performances across the country.
Over the next three months, he cancels all of them,
and he had done this also last year. He sought
similar help and decided he needed to focus on managing
his mental health. And he said he always feels like

(17:27):
the walls are going to close in or something's going
to be ripped out. He does a lot of trauma
therapy trying to figure out why. And let's not forget
that his father also died during the nine to eleven
attacks at the World Trade Center. He said, my dad
told me he was going to pick me up from
school on nine to eleven. I got picked up by
my mom. She didn't tell me what was going on
for like three days.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
So I imagine the type of effect that something like
that could have.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
Seven know what somebody's going through.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
All right, On the bright side of things, Vibes Cartel
was released from prison.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Yeah, after thirteen years.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
He was released yesterday at five I have twenty nine pm.
And when I tell you, there were a crowd of
supporters outside chanting his name and going crazy. It's also
Emancipation Day today for Jamaica. Welcome, so that is the
big deal. And a lot of people have a lot
of kids. This was their first time seeing Vibes Cartel

(18:17):
in the flesh, and so a lot of people were
outside because think about it, thirteen years is a long time.
Some of those kids grew up listening to Vibes Cartel
but never having a chance to see him in real life,
and so I know, it's an amazing time. I can't
even imagine what's going to happen moving forward. But he
did have an appeal hearing on June tenth, the judgment
was handed down and he's a free man, So congratulations

(18:41):
to him. A lot of people were celebrating and posting
and telling him welcome home. One of those people is Spice,
who we know is a frequent collaborator with Vibes Cartel,
always pigs him up, even during all of her performances.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
Ramping Shop.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
Is that what you're seeing?

Speaker 4 (18:57):
Ramping Shop? All right?

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Always must the words up?

Speaker 4 (19:01):
I see?

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Well, here is Spice really excited. She was on a
flight landed to the good news. My fe gone, but
she was in the airport really really hype. And you know,
right after his release, he posted a video of himself

(19:23):
on Instagram. He's in a limo with his wife, and
then he was posting a lot of video her.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
She's like, I don't have makeup. He's like, you don't
need any makeup.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
So that's good for him to be home after thirteen
years he was still doing music and everything. And the
fact that people love him the way that they do
and couldn't wait for him to come home. This is
going to be huge when it's time for him to
start performing and doing some shows. I saw a lot
of people also posting old footage of him and Mavado
when they got on stage together, and did you know

(19:51):
that was a huge.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Moment as well? Remember that I remember that.

Speaker 4 (19:54):
All right, well that is your Yet.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
When we come back, we have under the radar And
how could I not talk so more about this Donald
Trump interview with the NABJ and things that were said there.
I mean, he was talking about abortion, he was talking
about police immunity.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
It's not good. I hope he keeps on doing these interviews.
All write his way up in.

Speaker 9 (20:14):
The news that relates to you. These stories are flying under.

Speaker 4 (20:17):
The radar, all right, his way up.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
Angela Yee and Mano is here today. Yeah, okay, so
yesterday Donald Trump, and this is for about last night.
Donald Trump did a Q and A panel with the
National Association of Black Journalists Annual convention in Chicago. And
to be clear, there was a lot of backlash, but
the fact that they were even going to sit down

(20:41):
with him. You know, Donald Trump has historically not been
very nice to black women. Yeah, I mean women in general,
black people in general, black women in particular. He's actually
running against the black women and is constantly disrespecting her.
Can't even take the time to pronounce her name properly,
and doesn't feel the need to do that.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
But some of the things that.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
He talked about at this Q and A, and it
started off very combative, with him not liking the questions
that were being asked of him. One thing that he
talked about was, you know, he said that he wants
to give police immunity. And there's the huge Sonya Massey
case that's happened unfortunately, a black woman shot and killed
in her own home by an Illinois sheriff's deputy. Here

(21:27):
is what Donald Trump had to say one question about
that in relation to police immunity, if that police officer
should get immunity.

Speaker 11 (21:33):
I don't know the exact case, but I saw something
and it didn't Look, it didn't look good to me.

Speaker 4 (21:39):
So why should he receive immunity.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
Well he might not.

Speaker 11 (21:42):
I mean, it depends, it depends on what happens. I'm
talking about people that are much different cases than that.
We need people to protect ourselves.

Speaker 10 (21:51):
Right, and we also need call the police to move
with a code of conduct in restraint and understand.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
It all right. And the fact that he didn't even
know this case, he sparked.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
The national he was playing dumb though he knew the case.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
You know, the fact that he couldn't even answer that
was ridiculous, and he was just saying all kinds of
things that were not true. So one thing that he
talked about was also Roe versus Wade and his thoughts
on a woman's right to choose. And so he did
say that Democrats want to allow you to have an
abortion up to nine months.

Speaker 4 (22:25):
Here's what he said.

Speaker 11 (22:27):
I think that the Democrat party is really the one
that has the problem. I think they're radical on abortion
because they're allowing abortion in the ninth month.

Speaker 4 (22:36):
The governor of Virginia State.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
This is what I'm saying. That's part of what he does.
He's just he's saying anything.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
And some people will listen to that and believe it
because they think you can't get on TV and lie.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
His people believe everything he kept saying.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
Inflation is the words has been in over one hundred years,
which is false. There's a lot of things that he said.
If you look at anybody fact checking, that is absolutely
He's not running a fat game. He said that he's
done the most for HBCUs and saved them. Another thing
that he talked about was black jobs, which is a
comment that he said before. He wants to make it
seem like people are coming into this country across the

(23:16):
border from Mexico and taking black jobs.

Speaker 11 (23:20):
Coming from the border, are millions and millions of people
that happen to be taking black jobs.

Speaker 7 (23:26):
What exactly is a black job, sir?

Speaker 11 (23:27):
A black job is anybody that has a job.

Speaker 4 (23:32):
Okay, isn't it just jobs? Why is it black job?

Speaker 8 (23:35):
No?

Speaker 10 (23:35):
Because he really was trying to say the jobs like
being a porter and sweeping up and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
I just Janus said so many things that were in true.
I was like screaming, like what are you talking about?
But anyway, that is your that is your under the radar.
When we come back, we got the way it mixed
at the top of the hour. Plus we have a
young superstar, Leyla is going to be joining us. She
has that song not My Problem that we all know
and love is way yep. Just like to talk like
they Al Jean like they am Ali Jean.

Speaker 9 (24:04):
Man, she's spilling it all. This is yea te way.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
What's up his way up at Angela Yee, it's yea
tea time with main Now, that's right.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
You want good news or bad news?

Speaker 2 (24:14):
All good news. We ain't doing no bad news.

Speaker 4 (24:16):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
LaToya Luckett has gotten married and yeah, that's good news.

Speaker 5 (24:22):
You know.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
She married her husband, Talio Coles, in a private ceremony
in Houston, Texas.

Speaker 8 (24:27):
Now.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
According to reports, they had a mutual friend for two decades,
but they didn't actually meet until twenty twenty two. She
went to God in prayer asking for freedom from her
past drama, her heart that's ready to love again, and
that's when.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
She found him. All right.

Speaker 3 (24:40):
So the ceremony was supposed to be seventy people, but
it ended up being two hundred guests by the.

Speaker 4 (24:44):
End of the day.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Lord man I noticed.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
Right, all right, don Lemon issuing Elon musk an X.
Remember he had to deal with that right, and so
apparently their agreement was intended for him to provide exclusive content,
and Elon Musk agreed to a one point five million
dollar annual payment for that content, a share of advertising
revenue as well, and also cash incentives for increased following.

(25:10):
There was no physical contract, but they did have a
verbal agreement. So now Don Lemon is suing for that.
So verbal agreements are always tough. They are binding, but
sometimes not as strong.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
It's not the same as that black and white.

Speaker 4 (25:24):
As if you would have had that paperwork.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
All right, and Damon Dash is officially losing his stake
in Rockefeller Records, according to reports his shares when we
put up for auction his thirty three percent of Rockefeller.

Speaker 4 (25:37):
You have to be prepared to bid.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
A minimum of one point two million dollars if you're interested,
and you also have to place a twenty percent deposit
of two hundred and forty thousand dollars at the time
of the sale to lock in the deal. So that's
going to be happening August twenty ninth in Manhattan.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
It'll be crazy if Jay come through and bought it.

Speaker 3 (25:54):
Yeah, you have to register for the event and be
prepared to bid, like we said. So you know, this
is something that's been a long time coming.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
You're just trying to sell it. You can't sell it.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
Yeah, he can't.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
And he didn't pay this eight hundred thousand dollars settlement
two years ago, so therefore they're going to.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
Be selling his stuff off.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
All right, And Kayen Anthony got a tattoo, a portrait
of his mom, La La Anthony. He's seventeen years old now,
and the message beneath the portrait says, dear mom, you
continuously put me before yourself. You are my wife. I
thank God for you every day. That is a long
caption and a huge picture. It's his whole entire forearm.

(26:33):
Did you see it?

Speaker 2 (26:34):
This is really dope.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
So you know what that means, zay, Wow, it's time
to step.

Speaker 2 (26:40):
Up his mother, his grandmother, his sister.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
Yeah, but not you yet, Zain. We need you to
get this tattoo of your dad. Okay, with a longer caption,
with that nice long caption. You know your body dad,
You know, yeah, you're very you're very perfectly in per faked.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
That's what he should say, something like that.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
All right, but that is your yet and when we
come back, we have asked yee eight hundred and two
nine two fifty one fifty, I'm here with the award
winning advice giving Mano. Anybody that wants to get a
tattoo on Mano's face and put award winning advice giver
under it, we welcome that. But we are here to
answer any question that you have.

Speaker 4 (27:20):
It's way up.

Speaker 9 (27:21):
Okay, everybody since whether it's relationship or career advice, Angela's
dropping facts.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
This is ask gee, what's up?

Speaker 3 (27:29):
Its way up at Angela? Yee, I'm here, My guy
Mano is here, right, I'm here, And what's what's your title?
Award winning advice giver?

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Right?

Speaker 4 (27:37):
All right, well we have Kayla on the line. What's up, Kayla?

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Hey?

Speaker 6 (27:40):
What's up?

Speaker 13 (27:40):
Ye?

Speaker 14 (27:41):
Hey, what's up?

Speaker 4 (27:42):
Mano?

Speaker 2 (27:42):
What's that name?

Speaker 14 (27:44):
My question is my wrongs are going on a date
with someone that is technically still married but finalizing their divorce.

Speaker 3 (27:52):
Okay, so they don't live together. How long have they
been separated?

Speaker 14 (27:56):
They are separated, but they still live in the same huzzle.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Okay, Well, you're not wrong unless you feel wrong.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
I mean that's a little weird though, because you also
don't know if somebody's being honest. Usually, and I get it,
there's a lot of people who are still married that
aren't together anymore.

Speaker 4 (28:12):
Sometimes people go for years and years and years like that.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
I get that, But what if she got a thing
for married men?

Speaker 10 (28:16):
Though, it should be something for that, she should be
you want your own man, right.

Speaker 4 (28:21):
Trus me.

Speaker 14 (28:22):
That's not what it is.

Speaker 5 (28:23):
That's not what it is.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
I would I would say I would at least want
to know that they're separated, Like he got his own place.

Speaker 4 (28:28):
Why hasn't he moved out yet?

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Because they're still kind of together.

Speaker 14 (28:32):
That's what I'm thinking. So I was my question, like,
what do you think?

Speaker 2 (28:37):
So did you go out? Did you go out with
them yet?

Speaker 5 (28:40):
Yes?

Speaker 14 (28:40):
He did, So you gotta.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
Think you gotta think for married men. Then that's all right.
We already think.

Speaker 14 (28:46):
I didn't know when time went out.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
Oh he didn't even tell you. I already don't like
the fact that he was not honest with you. You know,
you got to let people know what they're getting themselves into.
So he told you, So what did he explain their
relations and ship?

Speaker 4 (29:00):
Ass? He said, we live together, but we're not together.

Speaker 14 (29:03):
There was like no specifics, but it was just like, oh,
this is what the finalized. And sometimes you know, people
can't afford to move out.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
Oh my godness, now right.

Speaker 14 (29:17):
They also have a daughter together?

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Nice, they're still together.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
Well, then yeah, he probably shouldn't be able to afford
to go on dates and take people out either.

Speaker 4 (29:23):
If you can't get I just think.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
That's a really touchy situation because you don't know the
real truth, and so I would just tell you to
take your time. You know, maybe he's telling the truth.
Maybe they're not together, but they still live together. But
I wouldn't want to date somebody. How does that make
you feel?

Speaker 14 (29:39):
I kind of thought, I am because I'm like, this
doesn't make sense. So even though there is quote unquote
there you're in a process, it's also like you also
are still married, and like if there's no way to
say you guys aren't intimate and guys you share a
child together, so it's it's kind of a fifty situation.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
I wouldn't put myself in that situation knowingly. What I
would do is be like, listen, let me know when
you move out, when you're making real moves to get
this divorce, I need to see some evidence of that
because I'm not comfortable.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
Sound like you already got the answer to this, Sound
like you already know what it is. So move you
know with your what's your best with your best mind,
you know, move on on.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
We keep moving on.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
Like Maya would say, all right, well, thank you, Cayla,
We appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
Good luck, no problem. All right, well that was that.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
Was ask ye eight hundred two nine two fifty one
fifty if you couldn't get through. And when we come back,
we have Layla joining us. She has a new song
out right now called not My Problem. She's eighteen years old,
been doing music since she was nine, but this is
her first time doing an interview.

Speaker 4 (30:41):
And yes, she is most Death's daughter.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
I'm gonna tell you all that right now in case
you were wondering, you're gonna love this interview.

Speaker 4 (30:47):
It's way up.

Speaker 9 (30:49):
This is way up with Angela.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
Ye.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
You are a media maven, right, you never know.

Speaker 7 (30:54):
What Angel's gonna say.

Speaker 4 (30:56):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (30:57):
It's way up with Angela ye, And y'all look at
it was here today Leyla, Not my Problem and listen,
congratulations on all the success that you've been having. We
talked about this years ago that this was gonna be
your first interview.

Speaker 7 (31:13):
Yeah, we definitely did.

Speaker 15 (31:15):
I literally remember I was like how old was I
was like nine, and I remember you were like yo,
like you when you're doing your thing, like your first
interview is gonna be with me.

Speaker 7 (31:25):
I was like, this is crazy, like it's actually real life,
like we're really here.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
I remember one time you were freestyling and I filmed
it because I was like, she's really really dope. But
just to see the talent that you had at such
a young age, and sometimes it takes a while.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
So let's talk about the journey.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
And clearly you've been doing this music thing and working
for some time now you're eighteen.

Speaker 7 (31:44):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 15 (31:46):
So I mean I've always known, like I've wanted to
do this with my life, Like I've always wanted to
make music, and I just spent so much time like
figuring out my style, figuring out what I liked, and
growing my strengths to the point that I find felt like, Okay,
I can like show this to the world.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
So how was it for you being patient to know
that at some point this was gonna.

Speaker 15 (32:06):
Work with my first song? So like that that was
my first song? Ever, and I was sixteen, and I
guess I wasn't necessarily thinking like who's gonna see this
or like, you know, like I was just like, my
mom loves this song, my sisters liked the song. I
liked the song, my friends like it. So I'm just
gonna put it out there. And then the world just
responded to it and it just became a whole thing,

(32:28):
you know, yeah, like it just kind of caught fire.
And I think that like that was when I was like,
oh wait, I'm onto something, like people really like this
and that was my first song.

Speaker 4 (32:37):
That's crazy.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
I thought that maybe you had been doing songs and
that's the first one that caught on.

Speaker 15 (32:42):
But that was that was I mean, I'd always written music,
like I always and so I started making beats when
I turned fourteen.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
Right now we are talking to Brookland's own Leila, What
did you use?

Speaker 4 (32:51):
Like how did you do that?

Speaker 15 (32:53):
I used garage band and I still use garage band
to this day. And I guess the reason for that
was because like, first I didn't have my own computer,
my mom's computer, and like she just had garage bed
on there already. It was literally out of curiosity, and
so this day just stuck, like I ended up just
developing my whole own like.

Speaker 4 (33:10):
You definitely did, because it is definitely a unique flow.
And you're also in the Million.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
Dollar Baby video and people do compare you to Brent
Faires a lot as well.

Speaker 4 (33:22):
People do is there any correlation? Do you know him?
Has he reached out?

Speaker 7 (33:26):
We met in Paris.

Speaker 15 (33:27):
It was super cool, Like I think, like the similarity,
like in our voices, Like I think that there's just
certain nuances and things that are so I guess there
are the heart in the room of R and B two,
Like there's so many like rifts and runs that have
inspired me over time that I just feel like, you know,
it's a certain soul.

Speaker 8 (33:43):
You know.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
It's interesting because I always thought you were going to
be a rapper and you can't rap, but now you're
you really have a beautiful singing voice. So I think
when you think about like your projects, because you do
have something coming out in September, yes, correct, write.

Speaker 7 (33:58):
I do my first official full length project.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
So what is the feel of it going to be?
And is there a genre that you would put yourself
in that's okay?

Speaker 15 (34:08):
I think that I'm definitely a lot of my heart
my soul is R and B. But I kind of
like take everything and turn into my own.

Speaker 7 (34:16):
Thing in a way. And that's something that I really
want to keep with my music.

Speaker 15 (34:19):
It's like I want to give people that sense of
nostalgia and like the relatability, but I also want to
like make it new and fun and different and like
just bring people into like a different space.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
All right, Layla is here with us. You know her
song not My Problem. We got more with her when
we come back in her first ever exclusive interview that
is just on Way Up with ye Let's go.

Speaker 9 (34:41):
This, Yeah, yeah, more, Way Up with Angela?

Speaker 4 (34:44):
On now What's up? Way Up with Angela?

Speaker 8 (34:49):
Yee.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
I'm here and for the first time ever, we have
a new young superstar, Leila joining us. She's eighteen years old,
has not done an interview yet. This is her first
one set. It's really special, but she has a hit
song out right now not My Problem.

Speaker 8 (35:03):
Now.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
Your mom is also a really integral part in everything
that you do. She's your momager and your father's most deaf,
which I know people have found the pictures.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
Online and it's like she's daughter.

Speaker 3 (35:14):
So when it comes to being in this music business,
how do your parents feel about that because it is
a crazy business to be into.

Speaker 15 (35:20):
Yeah, I'm so blessed because they've always been so supportive
of everything that I wanted to do, and like having
having a monitor is so fun because if anyone knows you,
it's going to be.

Speaker 4 (35:31):
Your mom and you do have your dad's whole face,
you know.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
Yeah, was it a conscious thing to not because I
know sometimes it's hard people are gonna make comparisons.

Speaker 4 (35:39):
Oh that's my mom, sayest daughter.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
Was that something that you kind of were like, I
don't want to be identified until I'm there.

Speaker 16 (35:45):
You know.

Speaker 15 (35:45):
I just never led with it because I just didn't
want like my talent to be like diminished, overshadowed, and yeah,
you know, and I'm proud of like my family. I'm
proud of who my dad is. And it's never something
you know, it wasn't. I just I know, my own person,
like my own artists, and I just didn't think that
that was like something I had to mention in order to,
you know, get people to care about my music or

(36:06):
care about who I am.

Speaker 3 (36:07):
And he's very proud of me. He's super sepul Listen,
I've seen y'all together. We were Jay Electronica. Yeah, you
guys we met that. I think we were in Puerto
Rico and Porto rest something like that.

Speaker 15 (36:17):
It was literally nine and we were just freestyling, and
that was the day that you were literally like, yo,
like watch your first interview is going.

Speaker 3 (36:24):
To be with me, and I was like, okay, well
I saw the talent at such a young age though,
because honestly, like I'm not even kidding, because when you
were freestyling, I was like, she's really really dope, and
I can't even imagine what it's going to be like
a few years from now, and so I could never
have picture it being like this because when I first
heard not My Problem, I didn't even realize that was you.
So talk to me about not My Problem, because that

(36:47):
is definitely probably one of the biggest songs out right now.

Speaker 15 (36:51):
The song was a freestyle, so I made the beat
and I was just like, oh, this is cool. I
didn't think too much of it, and I just came
up with the lyrics kind of just like vibing in
my room with my sister and she was like, Yo,
that's hard.

Speaker 7 (37:02):
That's fire, and I was like cool.

Speaker 15 (37:03):
And then I literally like went to the studio like
the next day and like they were like, yo, record that.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
Right now we are talking to Brookland's own Leila, So
what changes now with the huge success of a song
like not my problem and now I'm sure the money's up.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
You know, the album's coming out in September. You have
a title.

Speaker 15 (37:20):
So my first official project, it's coming out in September,
and it's called Gap Year. It basically travels through the
journey that I've had, like coming from being in high
school and like you know, teen age hood to like
young adolescents and just pretty much everything that's like me.

Speaker 4 (37:37):
What does your dad say about all this? And what
did he think when he heard the song?

Speaker 7 (37:40):
Oh? He was just like yo, this is crazy. He's
super proud of me.

Speaker 15 (37:43):
Like he actually saw me perform, like for the first time,
like in front of a crowd when we were in Paris.

Speaker 7 (37:49):
Because obviously, like I've showed.

Speaker 15 (37:50):
Him all of my songs like throughout like just making
stuff and creating stuff and like we've created stuff together,
but he actually saw like how I was performing, and
he like was it was just such a special moment.

Speaker 4 (38:01):
You think you'll do something with him?

Speaker 15 (38:03):
Maybe we'll see I don't know if he's cool enough.
I don't know if it's fine enough.

Speaker 3 (38:07):
Yeah, Bo, we'll see you could Redoumi says, I mean
I wouldn't find it and that would be dope.

Speaker 7 (38:12):
Yeah, that would be cool. Well maybe maybe some beat
stuff too, like no slide him and beat here and there.

Speaker 4 (38:18):
Make sure you try to a market rate too.

Speaker 7 (38:20):
Yeah, it's a business.

Speaker 4 (38:23):
All right.

Speaker 3 (38:23):
Well, I love this and congratulations well deserved.

Speaker 4 (38:27):
I cannot wait for Gap Year to come out in September.

Speaker 3 (38:30):
Yes, all right, and we're definitely going to see a
tour I'm sure at some point.

Speaker 15 (38:34):
Yeah, yeah, I definitely want to like just curate some
really dope awesome events for the people that love my
music and just want to have a good time.

Speaker 4 (38:42):
So yeah, all right, Well Leayla, thank you so much.

Speaker 7 (38:44):

Speaker 4 (38:55):

the last word on What Up with Angela?

Speaker 6 (39:00):

Speaker 4 (39:01):

Speaker 14 (39:02):
Yee.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
I'm here, my guys, I'm always here every day. No replacements. No,
not at all. Jasmine doesn't come here, she said, you're
in her seat. No, this is my seat.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
Let's be clear. Well, thank you to Layla for joining us.
She is from Brooklyn, eighteen years old. She's a star.
You got a West that Foot interview. I really loved it.
I met her when she was nine years old and
she was freestylling and I was so impressed by her.
So I'm so glad that she decided this is list
ever interviewed.

Speaker 4 (39:32):
She is lit.

Speaker 3 (39:33):
Okay, we also have to show a lot of love
to Cardi b I know a lot of people called
in today talking about their own experiences with divorce, and
we had speculated whether or not Carti's pregnant.

Speaker 4 (39:42):
Well she is.

Speaker 3 (39:43):
She posted herself with her belly. With every ending comes
in the beginning. I'm so grateful to have shared this
season with you. You have brought me more love, more life,
and most of all, renewed my power. Reminded me that
I can have it all. You reminded me that I
never have to choose between life, love, and my passion.
I love you so much and cannot wait for you
to witness to help me accomplish what you pushed me
to do. It's so much easier taking life's twist turns

(40:05):
and tests laying down. But you, your brother, and your
sister have shown me why it's worth it to push through.
That is her letter to her unborn baby. All right,
congratulations to Cardi B. And this is your show, so
of course you have the last word.

Speaker 16 (40:19):
Angela yee. Let me tell you when it was my
last straw.

Speaker 6 (40:23):
I was married.

Speaker 16 (40:24):
Twenty three years. We were separated. He told me we
were working it out, but he started going to church
and got him a little scally wag at church praising
the Lord. What I know it was the last straw
when he wouldn't call her and break it off in
front of me. I hope somebody screws her husband, just
like she screw mine.

Speaker 8 (40:44):
Hi Enne behind Maine or this is a genie. I'm
calling from Brooklyn today. I'll just shine the light on
main O. I've seen you, man O doing big things
from retired drug dealer to entrepreneur, and I see I'm
really really proud of you. Also, I want you to comment
on Offset and Cardi B. This seems to be a
problem that been going off for a while and I
love them together, but sometimes you have to say enough

(41:05):
is enough

Speaker 9 (41:07):
Going way out or turn out with Angela Yee now
