that are working on doing affordable housing in Detroit.

I like to staring the light on my wife today.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
Okay, Oh my gosh, Wait, you don't know her name? Yeah,
all right, shine a light on your wife. Say her name?
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Okay, Deanna. Why are you shining the light on Deanna today, Anthony?
Speaker 8 (03:18):
I like to shining the light on her because man,
we've been through uh we just had a rough pregnancy
with twins and my past, and we've just been through
some charls interpolations lately. And we've been together going on
seven years now. We just had our anniversary and through
all the charls and circulations, we just hold it together
every obstacle that comes. I mean, I'm right there with her,
(03:39):
and she just taking the head on and she's she's
very strong with it, and I just want to shine
the light on her to keep pushing that positivity in
staying strong.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
All right, Well, congratulations to you guys.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
I know both of y'all have been through a lot,
but for her having gone through that, you know, just
make sure you uplift her all the time like you

Shout out to you, Deanna.
Speaker 8 (03:59):
Yes, definitely, And I listen to you guys every morning,

Shina Light eight hundred two nineteen fifty one fifty in
case you couldn't get through.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
And Jasmine and I are here. We're very emotional at
all times.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
You never know what we might do, but we try
to keep it off social media, and we'll tell you what.
Larsa Pippins says she regrets about her recent quote breakup.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
It's way up.
Speaker 7 (04:37):
She's about to blow the lead ab off this, but
let's get it.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Angela's feeling that. Yeezee, come and get to see it's
way up. But Angela, yea, I'm Angela. Yee hey, Jasmine.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Brand, I'm not just any brand on my own brand.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Let's get it too, some yee tea now, Larsa Pippen.
She admitted that she was very emotional when she deleted
all the pictures of Marcus Jordan off her page, and
also basic had said that they were broken up, and
so she went on the Teddy Mellencamp and Tama Judge
to Teas in a pod podcast and said, this did fake.
Speaker 11 (05:09):
A breakup or something really bad happened. We never broke up,
by the way, you guys. It was like a month
of us not seeing eye to eye and me kind
of talking to him about like what does this relationship entail?
And I wish I didn't delete those photos. And I
didn't even archive them, you guys.
Speaker 4 (05:24):
I just deleted them.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
So it was just an impulsive move.
Speaker 11 (05:26):
I was just emotional and like impulsive, I guess.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
Yeah, whoof she deleted them. I hope she still has
them in her phone somewhere.
Speaker 6 (05:33):
She said she didn't even archive them.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
But I'm saying, you know, but before you post them. Oh,
luckily she has them.
Speaker 6 (05:38):
Yeah, I was saying, and Angela, I was saying, this
is something I would do.
Speaker 4 (05:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (05:41):
Did he delete them too?
Speaker 9 (05:42):
Well?
Speaker 2 (05:43):
One source of saying their spat was over Michael Jordan
publicly denouncing their relationship.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
That's been happened.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Yeah, that's old moves because then he definitely was posting
with his dad right after that, not that he doesn't.
Speaker 6 (05:54):
Always do that, but you know, Drake lyrics and stuff.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
And you know, you have to understand that this relationship
is going to be something that is scrutinized, that people
are going to have jokes about that, people are going
to talk about it, and so you know, you just
got to be able to.
Speaker 6 (06:09):
Put down your phone.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
To know that.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
All right, Beyonce has become the first black woman to
top the Billboard Country Songs charts, So congratulations to her. Yes,
both of her singles made their first two entries on
the chart, and one of them debuted at number one,
Texas Hold Them That's my song. So I actually have
gotten used to it now, you know, I take a
little I liked it when I first heard it, but
it's not like my genre, necessarily.
Speaker 6 (06:32):
Not my genre.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
But I guess that's the point yep, right, and I
already know that video is going to be amazing.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
All right.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Time has revealed the twenty twenty four Women of the
Year list of extraordinary leaders working toward a more equal world.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
So congratulations to the twelve honorees.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
They include Greta Gerwick from Barbie Okay, Taraji.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
P Henson Today, Coco Gov.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
You know, so congratulations to everybody who made that list
by the way, that's a huge thing.
Speaker 6 (07:02):
That's a big deal.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Yeah, And DC Young Fly, this is disgusting to me,
all right, DC Young Fly. Uh, somebody robbed him. They
stole a bag that went missing. It was at a
show at the Hollywood Improv and somebody stole his bag.
And there is a document in that bag that is
priceless that he wants to get back. Y'all should be
ashamed of yourselves. All right, here's what he had to say.
Speaker 8 (07:24):
I really we're trying to refrain from this video, bro.
Speaker 12 (07:27):
I just want my boot bag of my girl dea
certificate in it and got personal belongs and I should need.
Speaker 8 (07:33):
The bed, bro.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
And I'm sure like keep whatever if it was money
in it, but he said it wasn't nothing in.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
It, just.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
That, which is a huge deal for him. It wouldn't
mean something to anybody else, but for him. Can he
have that memory please and have that important piece of paperwork?
I mean, really unfortunate. I'm sure his kids would want
to have that for later on. It's something that probably
has him so much in his feelings. I can't even
imagine what that must be like. But something that means
something to you, but nothing to somebody else.
Speaker 6 (08:03):
Yeah, you know, hopefully someone does the right thing.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
All right, Well, that is your yut. And when we
come back, we have about last night. That's where we
discussed what we did last night. When I tell you
I worked all day and night yesterday, I sent you
a picture and you were like, that's a wig.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
But we'll talk about it. It's way up last night.
Speaker 7 (08:20):
So about last.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
Night last night, last night.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
As I went down, it's way up at Angela Yee.
I'm Angela Yee. My girl, Jasmine brand is here with me.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
I'm not just any brand, I'm my own brand.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Yes, And it is about last night. That's where we
discussed what we did last night, Jasmine, What about you.
Speaker 13 (08:37):
I didn't really do anything except I packed so that
I could catch a train at five in the morning,
and I had a call. Me and my girlfriends also
are doing like a little small real estate deal, so
we had a conference call about that.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Okay, Well we had a ton of conference calls yesterday,
yehent about our ideal Indy trade. I also had a
zoom with the New York City Metro MTA. That's for
the trains and the buses. They're having a huge problem
with people not paying their fare, people just jumping the
gate or yes, and also even just getting on the
bus and walking right past. But there's people in this
(09:08):
room who don't pay their fare. Oh good, by the way,
But what you don't know is that they actually have
pictures and video. They have cameras, so they see everybody
who doesn't pay their fare.
Speaker 6 (09:19):
So is that a fireable offense for someone that works
here to do that?
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Angela, I don't know about that, but it is embarrassing.
Imagine you know, you ever go to the supermarket and
there's like people who stole yes their picture. Imagine they
put up an Instagram page and now you got to
come to work and everybody got to imagine if you're
the boss, because you know, people who aren't paying their fare.
It's not necessarily just like kids or because they get
bus passes, train passes and things like that.
Speaker 4 (09:44):
A lot of it is people have.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
The money to do it, and so they have like
their latte and their expensive and they.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Just jump over.
Speaker 6 (09:52):
What was the call about the point of the call
was to find solutions or.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Yeah, like what are some things that can happen because
it does really affect like the whole budgetary bottom of
making sure that people can get paid.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
You know, it does mess everything up. So that was
one thing I did.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
And then I had a photo shoot with this magazine
called Alpha Magazine. I'm so bad at photo shoots. I
don't know what to do with myself. But shout out
to the whole team at Alpha Magazine. I can't wait
to see what it looks like. I sent you a
picture too.
Speaker 6 (10:16):
How to send a video?
Speaker 4 (10:17):
Oh a video? I had a wig on, and a
lot of people didn't realize it was a way.
Speaker 13 (10:20):
Because angel sends you stuff and she gives you no context.
She just and I thought it. I was like, oh,
Angela got hair straight? Wait a minute, is it her hair?
Speaker 2 (10:27):
I'm supposed a picture so you guys can see, but
I put I had a wig on. It's just funny
because you know, I do enjoy wigs, but it's just
I can't put them on myself still unless it's.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
A headband wig.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Oh ye, shout out to Private Label and Detroy. We
have the best headband wigs. I was using those all
during the pandemic. All right, well, when we come back,
you know what it is, It is time for tell
us a secret. That's where you guys call up and
you tell us a secret, and we don't judge you.
Mano's not here today, so there will be no judgment.
There are some it's two different people.
Speaker 6 (10:54):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
There's people who call in and they're so disappointed because
they want Mano to judge them. And then there's people
who call in and they are so disappointing when Mano
is here.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
That's right, because they don't want Meno to judge them.
Which one are you?
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Rys?
Speaker 4 (11:07):
All right?
Speaker 2 (11:07):
But either way, the whole point of tell us the
secret is for you to get things out in the atmosphere.
Maybe it's a burden on you. Maybe it's something you've
never told anybody you want to share it. Maybe it's
just a cute little secret that you're like. You know what,
y'all will love this. When I was eight, you know,
stole money out of my mom's purse. Who didn't do that?
You never stole money from your parents?
Speaker 13 (11:25):
I don't think so everybody, you Jasmine, I'm not. You're
surprised I didn't steal for my mama as a kid.
Speaker 4 (11:31):
I know my mom's listening.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Yes, they used to keep money in vaz in the
living room, and that was like their hiding place.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
Me and my brother be like, come on, let's go
get them.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
I don't think I were.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
And the trick is you just still like a little
little bit yeah, a little bit of all right, Well, anyway,
call us up. That was my secret. Eight hundred ninety
two fifty one fifty is a number. Tell us a secret.
We just want to hear your secrets. We're not going
to judge you. You're anonymous. Eight hundred two ninety two
fifty one fifty.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
Tell us a secret. This is a judgment free zone.
Speaker 7 (12:00):
Tell us a secret.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
It's way up at Angela Ye. I'm Angela Ye. Jasmine
brand is here with me.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
I'm not just any brand on my own brand.
Speaker 4 (12:07):
And it's time to tell us a secret.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
That's where you guys get to call in eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty. You can tell us
things you've never told anybody. We're not going to judge
you again. You get to stay anonymous. We just want
to hear your secret. Put it out in the atmosphere,
let us hear it, and we're gonna just mind our
business after that and maybe post it on social media.
I'm like, my way up with you, Instagram page for
people to weigh in and judge you, since we're not
(12:30):
going to do that right now. Right here, eight hundred
two ninety two fifty one fifty is a number anonymous color.
What's your secret?
Speaker 5 (12:36):
I worked for this particular company that wind up closing
down because they were doing some bad bad anyway, they
dropped the bag.
Speaker 10 (12:44):
The guy, he was a mean, nafty guy, that supervisor.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
He dropped the bag one day and I got the
bag and found about ten thousand dollars in it and
never said nothing. Ooh, nobody never knew.
Speaker 4 (12:57):
Wow. So what you do with it?
Speaker 6 (12:58):
Thet with money.
Speaker 5 (13:00):
I'll tell you my mortgage that for about six months. Okay,
I went on vacation. Oh yeah, definitely. I I got
some bills called up.
Speaker 6 (13:08):
But it's responsible.
Speaker 5 (13:10):
But the lame guy that dropped it, he wound up
going to jail for money laundering.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
Well, we see what he was doing. Or maybe it
was because it had dollars. Let me ask you this,
were you ever nervous that you were going to get
caught negative?
Speaker 5 (13:24):
Because the area that he dropped it in, I already
knew that area.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
It was down in the in.
Speaker 5 (13:30):
The back part of the parking lot and nah, nobody,
and it's been it's been six years.
Speaker 4 (13:37):
Ago though, okay, so yeah, yeah it was there.
Speaker 10 (13:39):
Yeah, yes, yes, yes, it's done.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
There all right, happy like somebody else dropped some money.
Speaker 6 (13:45):
All right, Well thank you indeed, yeah, indeed, hanging.
Speaker 4 (13:49):
Out a miss caller. How are you?
Speaker 10 (13:51):
I'm doing fine? How about yourself?
Speaker 4 (13:53):
I'm great? Thank you. It's me and Jazz. Maybe you
want to hear your secret.
Speaker 5 (13:56):
My secret is when I was twelve years old, I
was taking for my mama.
Speaker 10 (14:01):
And now my twelve year old daughter taking weed from me?
Speaker 4 (14:05):
Have you checked her? Are you just letting her do it?
Because it's a cycle?
Speaker 10 (14:07):
I checked her. I want her doing that?
Speaker 4 (14:11):
Well, you know it's legal now.
Speaker 6 (14:13):
So so I was kind of young though.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
Oh wait, I thought I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
I thought you said, oh you know, I'm sorry, you
said twelve years old his daughter?
Speaker 10 (14:20):
Yeah, so what are you?
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Where are you going to hide this weed now so
she can't get to it? That's wild.
Speaker 4 (14:24):
I'm sorry. I didn't realize she was twelve.
Speaker 5 (14:26):
She's angela like this news generation, this social media thing
got everything.
Speaker 10 (14:31):
Kids want to do everything.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
Now, did you have a talk with her about it?
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Because she probably knows you smoked so then and they
see your their parents doing something.
Speaker 4 (14:39):
What do you say to a twelve year old?
Speaker 10 (14:41):
Yeah, I had to talk with her about it. She said,
she sees me doing it eventually when she gets older,
is she going to do it?
Speaker 13 (14:47):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (14:48):
Did that make you feel bad?
Speaker 10 (14:49):
It made me feel some type of way. But you
know it's nothing I could do when she get older.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
You sound like you hide it right now. Perhaps she
smoked smoked ready today?
Speaker 9 (15:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (15:03):
All right, okay, all right, all right, well thank you
for calling, Yeah, thank you?
Speaker 4 (15:09):
All right, Well that was tell.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Us a secret eight hundred two ninety two fifty one
to fifty In case you couldn't get through. We are
still taking your calls, and when we come back, we
have your eut. Let's talk about my guy, Donelle Rawlings.
Y'all gonna leave Donell alone. But you know what, this
is all great promotion because it's new Netflix special. It's
actually coming out on February twenty seven, So shout out
to you Donelle.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
We'll talk about it. It's way up.
Speaker 7 (15:30):
This says in the rooms from industry shade to all
of gossips out, sending Angela's feeling.
Speaker 4 (15:37):
That et it's way up.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
But Angela Yee, I'm Angela Ye and Jasmine brand is here.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
I'm not just any brand, I'm my own brand.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
And can I say these comedians have been going back
and for I've never seen something like this before. I
love it, you know, I feel like Shannon Sharp said
it off with Club Shayshay Yet Williams, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
Kat Williams, you know.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
And so now, Corey Hocom was at a laugh factory
and Donnelle Rowlings was there.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
Donna had just done his set.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Corey Holcom had some jokes though after that, and when
Corey went on the mic, he used part of his
time to talk about both Dave Chappelle and Donnelle Rowlings.
And you know, Donnelle and Dave are extremely close with
each other. Donnall has even come to blows over this.
Donne is a good friend though, period to everybody who
(16:26):
he's cool with. And so here's what happened, so fun Mile.
Speaker 14 (16:31):
Ill ild.
Speaker 4 (16:36):
Brooklyn and you might.
Speaker 12 (16:44):
Want to talk about it, you saying I'm you said,
I ain't come through the streets or the Gunnis and
Strength boys.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Matter of fact, when I met Donnelle, it was before
the Chappelle show started and he was definitely doing all
the rooms. I met him in Brooklyn at a few
different little, you know spots in Berkley.
Speaker 6 (17:03):
Don't test him. Donill's not mild at all.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
I've actually I commend him. There was one time I
remember I saw him doing the show and when Donnell
was on the come up. I mean, there'd be times
when I think every comedian goes through this. It's not
like a super packed audience. I remember one time it
was an outdoor venue. He just took the mic. He
was walking out into the street. We couldn't even see him.
But when I tell you, he's so funny and really
works on his craft at all times, and it's so passionate.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
So you know, I definitely don't like that. And he's
a good friend of mine too.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
And he does have a Netflix special by the way,
coming out on the twenty seventh, if anything, and I
know how Donell thinks it's his great promo for that absolutely,
And you know, Donnell Rowlings doesn't like the fact that
Corey Holcom is saying that any comedian who has appeared
in three or more movies has had to perform filatio
on someone in the entertainment industry.
Speaker 4 (17:47):
I mean, that's ridiculous.
Speaker 6 (17:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
Here is what Donelle had to say after this on TMZ.
Speaker 12 (17:53):
I wasn't going to watch Corey. I had performed myself
and I was about to leave, and they announced that
Corey is about to performance. And I know that he
had said some ill things about Dave Chappelle. I know
he said some ill things about some of the openers
of Dajah Pelle. So I just sat there wanted just
to see what his take on what he felt about
comedy or whatever. I did not want to scream out
of him, but I felt like protecting integrity of myself
(18:16):
and my friends.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
Hmm okay, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
So he went on to say also that Corey Holcome
has been in some movies too, so about his own admission, Yeah,
what does that mean?
Speaker 13 (18:24):
Corey is also known for talking, you know, smack about
a lot of people and being super opinionated.
Speaker 6 (18:29):
That's Corey's thing.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Yeah, but this didn't feel yeah, like it was felt
like an attack and donell by the way again the
twenty seven Netflix It's a new day, so getting ready
for that and speaking of more comedy situations, Mike Epps,
this is something that actually ended up getting squashed before
I could have gotten out of hand. It was him
and Shannon Sharp. They had some some back and forth
(18:53):
as well. Mike Epps talked about Shannon Shopper on stage,
Shannon shop responding on his podcast, but the two of
them did meet up over all Star weekend. And here
is what Mike Mike Epps had to say as he
addressed this on stage.
Speaker 5 (19:04):
It was all of you know what I'm saying, That's
what happens for you.
Speaker 7 (19:08):
You know, when you when you're a living man and
you matured, apologized to and the mondea and all kind of.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
Man I went to love.
Speaker 4 (19:17):
Yeah, I felt in hell.
Speaker 14 (19:21):
I have been with my.
Speaker 6 (19:25):
Los a hammer in the pocket just in case.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
All right, well that is your yet and when we
come back, we have under the radar. These are the
stories that may not be in the headlines, or maybe
you haven't heard them yet, or maybe you have, but
we are here to talk about it, man, and we
want to talk about Hydia broad Bench. She is somebody
who has been a longtime aide activist, a crusader. We've
seen her from when she was really young talking about
her experience and living with AIDS. And she was born
(19:49):
in nineteen eighty four where HIV. We'll talk about the
unfortunate scenario. Now she has passed away and we'll give
you the details on that and remind you about hydia
always all right, it's way up under the.
Speaker 7 (20:00):
Next in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
It's way I put Angela yee. I'm Angela yee. And
Jasmine brand is here. Yes, I'm here, and it's time
for under the radar. Stories flying under the radar, but
you need to know about them. And we want to
give a huge rest in peace to Hadiya Brabinch. She
has passed away at the age of thirty nine.
Speaker 4 (20:20):
Now.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
She was one of the first African American youth to
openly discuss HIV AIDS. She's been recognized as a top
influencer by Ebanie, The Grio, The Route Essence twenty twenty,
Good Morning America. She was born HIV positive and doctor
says she would not live past the age of five, but.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
She lived to be thirty nine years old. Here she
is on OPRAH back in nineteen ninety six.
Speaker 14 (20:42):
Born as HM positive and when I turned five, I
had as symptoms of age. No one really knows how
long anybody's gonna live if you stay in your bed
and feel sad for yourself and don't get up with
the birds and just sit there say I'm good day.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
Why get up?
Speaker 1 (21:00):
Time makes difference.
Speaker 4 (21:03):
Wow, let me tell you something that was so I
remember that.
Speaker 6 (21:06):
Yeah, I remember seeing her when when she was that.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Young, and she said she didn't understand the magnitude of
what she was doing when she was really young.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
But I knew.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
I wanted to make sure I was accepted. And also
for many of my friends, talking to youth men and
women every everywhere is what I believe in. You have
to be an example to the audience you are trying
to connect with.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
So a big rest in peace to her, all right.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Now, Biden has canceled nearly one hundred and thirty eight
billion dollars in student loan debt so far. So we
found out today even more debt has been canceled. So yeah,
that's a huge deal because that was one of the
promises from his campaign, student debt relief. It was really
difficult when the Supreme Court rejected his signatures. I can't
even talk his signature student loan forgiveness program last year.
(21:52):
But now they have been working around that being blocked
by finding other ways to help borrowers. So nearly one
hundred and thirty eight billion dollars federal student loan debt
has been canceled for almost three point nine million borrowers
ever since Joe Biden took office. So that is huge,
all right, and that is you're under the radar. Now
we do have since it is a Wealth Wednesday, we
just talked about some money, we do have Shiquana Brooks
(22:14):
aka miss Business, joining us and Lindsay C.
Speaker 4 (22:16):
Smith, the agent joining us.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
The two of them are giving free courses, free webinars
every Thursday for the month of February. Y'all miss the
first two, but there is actually yeah, first two, but
there's one tomorrow and then there's one next week next Thursday.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
These are completely free.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
They're also going to be giving free books that they've
written to our audience. A license insurance agent and a
certified public accountant and they have some amazing information things
that I know that I need to handle for myself.
So this has really put the battery in my back.
But you guys will really enjoying that on a Wealth Wednesday.
And of course we got the way yet mixed. At
the top of the hour, it's way up.
Speaker 4 (22:54):
She's like the.
Speaker 15 (22:54):
Tout like they and Jeal Jean, like they and Jeal Jean.
Speaker 7 (22:57):
Man, she's spilling it all this yea tea way up.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
It's way up.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
But Angela Yee, I'm Angela Yee. Jasmine brand is here
with me.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
Not just any brand. I'm my own brand.
Speaker 4 (23:09):
And it's time to get into some yea tea. All right.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
So, according to people, they have an exclusive. Wendy Williams
is in a facility to treat cognitive issues, and her
family says she is doing really great.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
All right.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
So you know, she does have that documentary Where's Wendy
Williams that was filmed between twenty twenty three, and that
is coming out on the twenty fourth.
Speaker 4 (23:29):
What's today's date? That's in three days?
Speaker 6 (23:31):
Oh yeah, so it's this weekend probably.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
So according to her family, her sister and niece said
that she's in a better place physically and mentally.
Speaker 6 (23:40):
Let us let us pray all right now.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
Hoda Kope has invited Kelly Rowland back to today. That is,
after the reports that she did not like the dressing
room that they gave her.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
She inquired about another one.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
She was told it was Jennifer Lopez's dressing room, and
then she ended up not guest hosting on the show.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
And here is what Hoda had to say.
Speaker 6 (24:00):
I have great love and admiration for Kelly Roland.
Speaker 16 (24:03):
I adore her, and I want her to come back.
Speaker 4 (24:06):
On her show and I want again. Of course she is,
of course she is. She can share my dressing room.
We'll be in it together.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
So I guess it was a dressing room because Kelly
Rowland has not said if that was the entirety of
the situation.
Speaker 6 (24:19):
She ain't said nothing.
Speaker 4 (24:20):
And she's never really had a diva type of.
Speaker 6 (24:22):
That we know of, right, we know of.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
So that's why I think it was weird for a
lot of people to hear rising all right now, Gunna,
his Bittersweet tour is coming and Philo Millie is the
opening act.
Speaker 4 (24:34):
I like that.
Speaker 6 (24:35):
I like her.
Speaker 4 (24:36):
I like that he has her on their opening up.
So that's going to be really dope. Uh.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
And that kicks off on May fourth in Columbus, Ohio.
And right now this is going through June eleventh. It
ends in Atlanta, Georgia. It's only right, yeah, of course,
all right.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
So congratulations to him.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
And by the way, he said, the pre still link
is in his bio and it's on sale Friday.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
Listen.
Speaker 6 (24:57):
He's doing well. People thought he wouldn't do well after
he got out.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
Listen. That's why you gotta keep pushing. Yep, all right now.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
Diddy aka Shawn Combs has filed his first official challenge
to the claims that he gang raped a seventeen year
old girl at his Manhattan recording studio.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
This was allegedly back in two thousand and three.
Speaker 2 (25:15):
There's new court paperwork that was submitted yesterday where he
refutes those accusations that he and Harpier and a third
unidentified man trafficked this team across state lines, plied her
with copious amounts of drugs and alcohol, and took turns
raping her in.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
A bathroom of his recording studio.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
According to his answer that was filed, he never participated in, witnessed,
or was or is presently aware of any misconduct sexual
or otherwise relating to the plaintiff in any circumstance whatsoever. Harpierre,
who is named a co defendant in the case, has
also filed his own answer on Tuesday, saying he never
participated in the sexual assault of the plaintiff, nor did
(25:53):
he witness anyone else sexually assaulting the plaintiff. This is
still a Jane Doe behind these allegations, and she is
the fourth woman to step forward in recent months and
follow a lawsuit against John Colms of sexual assault. All right, now,
one person who has spoken out on the Pivot podcast
is Flay Meyweather, and he said some things that people
didn't like, and by people, idot, here's what he said.
Speaker 15 (26:16):
I'm not going to speak bad about P Diddy because
he's still a black man. Mistakes happened, and I can't
say if it is or it's not a mistake. But
things happen in life, and P diddy business is P
Diddy business. It's not my job, with anyone else's job,
to go on the internet and stomp him and kick
a man while he's down. I don't think it's right
at all, and I don't condone it. Even if that
(26:38):
happened to my daughter, I would be hurt. But that's
a choice that my daughter made.
Speaker 13 (26:42):
Oooh, he didn't need to add that in at all.
The daughter part was out of control at all. Even
if he has a job.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
I don't think that he's referring to something like sexual
as a mistake, you know, I think that's poorly chosen words.
That's that's a choice, you know, whatever, your daughter, if
you're daughter gets assaulted, that's not a choice on her part, right,
But that's a choice for somebody who assaults somebody, that's
a choice, not the person who is being assaulted. You know,
maybe he misspoke allegedly being assaulted, but yeah.
Speaker 4 (27:11):
You know, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
Well anyway, that is your ut. And when we come back,
we have asked yee. Eight hundred two ninety two fifty
one fifty is the number any questions you have, we
are here to help. In the meantime, let's hear some
of one of our favorite artists, Sizza with Snooze.
Speaker 4 (27:25):
It's way up with its.
Speaker 7 (27:26):
Relationship for career advice, Angela's dropping facts.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
You should know this is ask gee, what's happens way
up with Angela Yee? I'm Angela Yee and Jasmine from
the Jasmine brand is here and we are doing ask yee.
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty is the number.
Speaker 4 (27:40):
Hey, l how you doing?
Speaker 10 (27:42):
I'm great about yourself.
Speaker 4 (27:43):
Miss ye, I'm good, thank you. What is your question?
Speaker 10 (27:47):
Well, I'm dating La Grill right now, and she's she's
not really communicative, not really involved, like personality wise, and
her love language is purely physical. That's the way it
seems to me. But I'm bored. Hell, I'm a safe
feel sexual and I'm just like, I don't know what
to do.
Speaker 4 (28:04):
How long have you guys been dating?
Speaker 10 (28:06):
Almost two years?
Speaker 2 (28:07):
Wow, that's a long time for you to have been bored.
Did things change like that?
Speaker 10 (28:13):
I mean, sexually, I was you know, it was exciting,
you know, the whole first year or whatever. I guess,
but I'm looking for something deeper and it's just like, mentally,
I'm just not being fulfilled.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Okay, So it feels like she's just not the right
person for you.
Speaker 8 (28:27):
Damn.
Speaker 2 (28:28):
I mean, so you're telling me, what does she say
when you talk to her about this? Because it feels
like the conversation is not up to par.
Speaker 10 (28:36):
She just gets upset and just like her response is like, well,
you know, I don't talk a lot.
Speaker 4 (28:41):
Is there a reason for that?
Speaker 6 (28:43):
Like?
Speaker 2 (28:43):
Has she ever expressed anything in her life that maybe
makes her more closed off?
Speaker 10 (28:48):
No idea. I used to think like maybe she was
like abused or sexually abused, or something happened wrong in
her life, and I was trying to pry a little bit,
but it's just empty.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
Is she liked that with everybody around her, her friends
or family?
Speaker 4 (29:04):
I believe, So, Okay, she.
Speaker 10 (29:07):
Seems a little bit more outgoing with other people.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Because I'm thinking maybe if you're around her circle more
frequently and she's comfortable speaking around them, it might make
her more comfortable, you know, looking at you as not
just her lover but also her friend.
Speaker 10 (29:22):
I think I meant one of her friends.
Speaker 4 (29:24):
I think you need to know more about her circle.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
And then I would also say, because you guys have
a very it seems physical sexual relationship, maybe there's more
things that you need to do that doesn't include that, right,
Maybe it's more of you getting to know her as
a person and doing things that don't include intimacy.
Speaker 10 (29:41):
I try to, but you know, it just the advance
turns into like real you know, it's just boring. It's
just tough. It is tough, like this is a difficult
personality for me.
Speaker 6 (29:55):
Sounds like you're not compatible.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
Yeah, I mean, it's just feeling like everything is great,
physical but as far as you being able to connect
on a conversational intellectual level, it's not there.
Speaker 10 (30:06):
Okay, all right, I just want to be here from
a woman, and I think you're all right because I
came to that conclusion a while ago.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
Okay, yeah, I mean like it happens, you know, and
it doesn't make you a bad person, right or her
a bad person?
Speaker 10 (30:20):
Right?
Speaker 17 (30:20):
Right?
Speaker 10 (30:21):
Just I guess we're just a little bit off the mark.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
I guess all right, Well, thank you.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
I wish you the best, good luck. You got to
find somebody that's on that lady.
Speaker 6 (30:29):
Yeah, that was asking.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
Thank you guys so much for calling us up.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
And you can always leave a message eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one fifty and we'll either get back
to you or play your message and ask your question
when we come back more questions.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
But this is all about finances.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
We have Shaquana Brooks, she's a CPA, and Lindsay C. Smith,
she's a licensed insurance agent, and they have some free information,
some free game to give you. Don't act like you're
not going to get your finances together, because we have
free information.
Speaker 4 (30:57):
No reason you can't start today. It's way up.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
I had a dream of wealthy and I don't mind
sharing my wealth dogs.
Speaker 7 (31:03):
Getting you straight financially, mentally, and physically. This is Wealth
Wednesday on Way Up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 4 (31:09):
What's up? It's way up with Angela Ye.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
I'm Angela Yee and y'all know I love talking about
financial wellness and things that we can do to help
you out. And now we have something really special for
you guys today. What we're going to talk about. We
have Lindsay C. Smith and Shaquana Brooks here, Oh hello,
and we're going to be talking about life insurance and
also accounting your taxes, different strategies you can use. And
(31:34):
you ladies actually are working in conjunction with each other.
Speaker 4 (31:37):
Yes, So what is it that you're offering?
Speaker 16 (31:39):
So Lindsay and I decided to put the pieces together
for everyone. There's always so much communication about taxes and
wealth and building a legacy and trust and all of
these different things. Right, so you have when you're thinking
about wealth, you're thinking about I see this person she
or he does taxes, Lindsay does insurance. This person is
(32:01):
talking to me about trust. This person's a financial advisor.
Wait stop, how does it all come together? And so
Lindsay and I thought that it would be good for
us to have the conversation together versus having the conversation separately,
because the reality is when people are getting introduced to
all of this information, they're still like, Okay, this information
(32:22):
is great, but how do I execute it? Who are
the players that's going to actually put it together for me?
And so that's what Lindsay and I are doing, just
trying to help people get to their future financial self
but being able to connect the dots for them and
definitely also to make it simple for them.
Speaker 2 (32:37):
Right now we're talking to licensed insurance agent Lindsay C.
Smith and certified public account Tiquana Brooks. Well, let's do
a version of that today because I know you have
free webinars every Thursday this month and I did this
maybe like I don't know, six or seven years ago,
I got life insurance for the first time and that
was something that I never had. But it was also
confusing for me because there are so many different types
(32:58):
of life insurance you can get.
Speaker 4 (33:00):
So maybe you can break that down for us. Absolutely.
Speaker 18 (33:03):
The first thing about life insurance is I think a
lot of people, especially in our community, we stay away
from it. Because we don't understand it. It goes over
our head. And like you said, the types, knowing what
type do I need? And even to know that it's
not just death insurance, it's life insurance. You can actually
utilize it why you're alive. And three of the biggest
strategies that I like to use are one to create
(33:25):
that tax free retirement income out of it, using that
permanent coverage, that universal life, that whole life that builds
cash value, that allows you to create an income over time.
Just think for all the entrepreneurs and all people who
have a W two job that might not have a pension.
They may need a supplemental retirement and why not have
one that can be tax free. So life insurance does
(33:47):
that for you, but people don't realize.
Speaker 4 (33:49):
And you can tap into that money also, Okay.
Speaker 18 (33:52):
So you're able to actually take an income out of
the life insurance tax free, so that you can have
a retirement income. And then another opportunity you invest in
real estate. People can use it to invest in real estate.
If you purchase a universal life or a whole life
permanent policy, you can actually use the money. And this
is something Shaquana did instead of using the money from
(34:13):
the bank. Instead of using hard money, you actually can
borrow money from your policy use it. Let's say you
were doing a flip, and so now you'll take this money.
You'll pay for the down payment. You'll be able to
do your flip. If you need renovations. You can take
the money from your policy, and now you don't have
to pay like a regular hard money. You got to
pay it back every month. You can pay it back
(34:34):
when the deal is over.
Speaker 4 (34:36):
What happens if you don't pay it back.
Speaker 18 (34:37):
So if you don't pay it back when you pass away,
the money comes off the death benefit.
Speaker 4 (34:41):
Okay, so you have until you die to pay it back.
Speaker 18 (34:44):
Absolutely what this is the thing, if a word to
pay it back, you can keep reusing it and you
can use it, and it grows while you have the
money out. So the money is growing while you have
the money out with your personal bank exactly. And the
last thing is funding your business. A lot of small
businesses the banks that are giving you money for that
you decide you want to start selling here, the bank
(35:05):
is not about to give you one hundred thousand dollar loan.
But imagine you had the policy. I had a client
who wanted to start a truck in business. He was like, hey, Lindsay,
where can I get this money from the bank won't
give me the money. I'm like, you have the money
in your policy. He borrowed the money, he brought a truck.
After the truck was making money, he paid it back.
He brought another truck. So these are some things that
(35:26):
I think if we're able to teach people how to
use life insurance, how to understand it, what types to get,
then they're going to be able to push forward in
their financial goals.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
We had Mortai, Taquana Brexit was a certified public account
and Lindsey Smith was a license insurance agent. When we
come back here we get some more valuable information. It's
a wealth Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
It's way up dream of wealthy and I don't mind
sharing my wealth dogs getting you straight financially, mentally and physically.
Speaker 7 (35:53):
This is wealth Wednesday. On way up with.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
Angela ye what's up? His way up with Angela Yee.
I'm Angela Yee on this beautiful wealth Wednesday. We have
Taquana Brooks, she's a CPA, and we have Lindsay Smith
who is an insurance agent. Both of them, by the way,
certified license with valuable information.
Speaker 16 (36:10):
There's a huge difference between how corporations are approaching taxes
and how small business and individuals are approaching taxes. And
it's not because of money. Most people like, oh, it's
cause of their corporation they have so much money. No,
it's up their mindset around taxes. They're looking at taxes
all year round. How can we lower this tax liability?
What business can we start? What investments can.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
We see the best thing to do in order to
lower your tax liability is to start a business. Or
for an individual, Alexaiy, you're not a business owner and
you get a salary and you're like, all right, how
can I make sure I maximize my return?
Speaker 4 (36:45):
What types of things can people do?
Speaker 3 (36:47):
Absolutely?
Speaker 16 (36:48):
So, I am not going to sit here and ever
say there's a ton of options for W two employees,
because there's not. The reality is the government incentivized business
owners and investors. If you are a W two employee,
what I always suggest is that hobby that you're doing
for free, that everyone's calling your phone for, you need
(37:08):
to start charging for it because under the IRIS code,
your business just needs you need to bring in some
sort of income and it just needs to be one
dollar in order to start writing off these expenses. Your rent,
you can now write a portion of your rent off.
That vehicle that you're driving, you can now write that off.
You can pay your children, right, so everyone's.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
Work come home.
Speaker 2 (37:29):
You can work from a hobby, so part of your
mortgage or rent, yeah, can off. Right now, we're talking
to licensed surance agent Lindsay C. Smith and certified public
account Tiquana Brooks. Let's talk about these free webinars. So
what type of information what people get and how can
they even sign up?
Speaker 4 (37:46):
Can you see it after it's done?
Speaker 10 (37:48):
Right?
Speaker 4 (37:48):
And then how can people sign up? And then what
are we talking about?
Speaker 16 (37:52):
We're doing them every Thursday. In terms of replays, replays
are not available, so if you are seeing this, make
sure that you go and you register there. You will
be able to just join for free. In terms of
the things that we're gonna be talking about, We're gonna
be talking about tax strategies, So Lindsey will be talking about.
Speaker 18 (38:10):
So yeah, so I'll be talking about insurance, but I'm
gonna give the strategies of how you can use it
while you're alive. Also, I'll be talking about the types
of policies, how you know what type works for you
and your family.
Speaker 4 (38:21):
Because that's a bit that's confusing.
Speaker 18 (38:24):
But this is the thing, it's not too late right
because a lot of people say, oh, I'm fifty, I
don't know if I can still get it. You absolutely can.
I've written policies for people who are eighty. I think
one of the biggest issues with insurance, and this is
the thing that I also speak about in the webinar,
is that people are not connected to insurance because they
haven't been left insurance before.
Speaker 16 (38:42):
And another topic that we're gonna talk about is just funding,
like using other people's money. Before I started my own company,
I worked at one of the top accounting firms in
a real estate fund and they literally raised two hundred
and sixty five million dollars.
Speaker 4 (38:55):
You know what they did.
Speaker 16 (38:56):
They went and leveraged that two hundred and sixty five
million that they raised, and they out and they got
a line of credit for another two hundred and sixty
five million, and they tapped into the line of credit
before they ever tapped into the capital that they raise.
And we have to structure our lives like that as well.
If we have, like, for instance, that thirty thousand dollars.
I could have taken that out of my bank account,
(39:16):
but guess what that would have been My money once
is gone poof yes, but with me utilizing other people's
money the insurance policy, I was able to keep my money,
so now I can do something else with that, and
now my investment is now working. So pretty much throughout
all of these free webinars, our goal is to just
bring it all together for everyone so that way it's
(39:38):
not like so many disconnected topics.
Speaker 18 (39:41):
