But let me tell you something was great too.
Speaker 6 (00:28):
Though.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
It's because there's so much happening between this potential commutation
of Diddy and then different loss. But you know, I
let Fred, by the way, gives great legal advice.
Speaker 7 (00:40):
I do.
Speaker 8 (00:40):
I do.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Yeah, So we're gonna have people calling in for that today.
Chris Brown versus Kevin McCall. Love to hear what you
guys think about that. I mean, who's like, as far
as holding a grudge, I already told you I'm holding
that thing to the end of talk, to the end
of time.
Speaker 6 (00:56):
I don't know.
Speaker 9 (00:56):
I mean, Chris and Kevin were friends at one point
when you see a friend man is down like that,
I mean, maybe it's time to kind of up.
Speaker 6 (01:02):
But he was just trolling him like a week ago. Yeah, listen,
you could be down whatever, that's not my problem. After
you've been disrespectful, I get it. I don't have to
be concerned with you with down some moment.
Speaker 7 (01:12):
Crying on social media, you know what I mean? That
might be, that's a that's a lot, right.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
You know.
Speaker 6 (01:16):
The first thing that Colin said was, well, you know,
you should probably do something that you don't go to
podcast crying.
Speaker 5 (01:22):
I don't think he meant to though. I don't think
that wasn't the print.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Yeah, well, today's also a Wealth Wednesday, So we have
Chris Saane joining us, and you're gonna love this conversation.
He retired at thirty seven, him and his wife at
thirty seven years old, and he's going to tell you
how he did it. But let's get the show started
up with some love and some positivity. Let's shine a
light eight hundred two nine to fifty one fifty. I'm
(01:47):
gonna shine a light on somebody who's actually been up
here before. As a guest host, she also gives great
legal advice and she also is a journalist. But we'll
talk about it when we come back. You let us
know who you want to shine a light on.
Speaker 5 (01:59):
Its way up.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Turn your lights on, y'all, spreading love to those who
are doing greatness.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Right, His way up by Angela Yee And I'm here
with my guy Fred m from Media Takeouts and Lindsay Granger. Hey,
and so today I want to shine a light on
Kim Osorio.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
Are you all familiar with Kim Osorio? Kim, Well, she's great, Okay.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
She also has she hates when I call her an
attorney because she's like, I don't practice. I don't practice.
But anyway, she did go to law school. She also
was the first ever female editor in chief of The Source.
And by the way, she has a book coming out.
So I just saw that she posted this this morning.
It says an analysis of significant cases with direct ties
(02:53):
to rap artists that have shook the legal system and
criminalized a culture.
Speaker 5 (02:57):
The book is called The People Versus Hip Hop.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Wow, She'll be talking about high profile criminal trials to
precedent setting civil cases, the legal battles that have shaped
the culture, dictated the music's evolution, and even determine the
freedom of hip hop's most influential figures.
Speaker 7 (03:13):
That's the kind of book that I definitely want to read.
Speaker 9 (03:15):
Yeah, because a former lawyer, I love the legal stuff,
and I mean, you know, when you think about how
many major court cases work around hip hop, who I mean,
it's gonna be a great book.
Speaker 6 (03:23):
And this overall idea that hip hop artists are intentionally targeted, right,
It's constantly comes up.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
So hip hop police was a real thing. It's a
real thing, all right. Now, desiree, who do you want
to shine a light on?
Speaker 10 (03:35):
I want to sign a light on my husband, my
beautiful husband of almost four years. He is an amazing
Black father, hard work and fella. Okay, So I just
wanted to sign the light on him, let him know
he's appreciated and that we see everything that he does.
Speaker 5 (03:55):
Oh that is so sweet. And what does he do exactly?
Speaker 10 (04:00):
So he's actually an assistant manager at home depot Ooh okay.
He's worked his way up for our family ever since
our three year old, ever since he was born. He
worked his way up from this a department supervisor all
the way to assistance for a manager in the past
three years.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
Oh wow, okay, we'll shout out to him and shout
out to everybody who works at home depot. We appreciate
you for being knowledgeable because I don't be knowing nothing.
Speaker 5 (04:27):
I'm like, uh, I'm trying, so yes, what a Scott.
All right, well, thank you for Collings desiree.
Speaker 10 (04:34):
Yes, thank you for having this segment. We need more
positivity out here.
Speaker 5 (04:39):
Thank you absolutely, thank you. Have a great day.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
That was Shine a Light eight hundred and two ninety
two fifty one fifty In case you couldn't get through,
you can leave a message and shine a light for
last word and when we come back, we got your

the different shows that he has forty shows wo the Way,
which is amazing.

of secrets that we'll never hear I do, and some
that you can find on his website. Yes, Lindsay in
the meantime, it's a journalist and when you tell us
something is off the record.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
So today we're off the record.
Speaker 6 (05:34):
We're off the record. Right now, we're off the record,
off the record.
Speaker 5 (05:40):
Fifty anonymous call it tell us a secret with a woman.
Speaker 11 (05:43):
Who was in a relationship knowing she was in a
relationship with she knew and hit it off and her.
Speaker 12 (05:48):
Man doesn't know.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
Oh my god, that sounds irresponsible, though I want to say, like,
no condom, nothing, actually let How does somebody let it on?
I just like you don't need that? Or did you
just not discuss it and call you.
Speaker 11 (06:01):
Up at two o'clock in the morning talking about picking
me up I'm drinking from the bar?
Speaker 6 (06:04):
How did you guys get to that point though? At
two o'clock then where obviously she been cheatedn't be a
text or a phone call, right was out the blue
and you just said.
Speaker 11 (06:11):
Yeah, I mean honestly, I woke up. I was like,
what's up? I need a ride? So it's the girl
up and then a ride turned into park somewhere and
let onto another.
Speaker 5 (06:19):
She know y'all don't have uber where you're at. Yeah,
obviously she don't want to say that, not just asking.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
Okay, so it hasn't been in the car made me
get out of bed at two a m.
Speaker 6 (06:28):
Did it happen in the car?
Speaker 11 (06:30):
Ain't nobody ride for free?
Speaker 6 (06:31):
Like that's crazy?
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Alright?
Speaker 7 (06:34):
But that was Are you guys worried about pregnancy?
Speaker 8 (06:37):
Right?
Speaker 7 (06:37):
Like you said it was wrong? CDs STDs.
Speaker 11 (06:40):
I already know that there was none of that. But
I mean if she got fretured, that was been herd too.
I mean liter bit me too. But you knew what
she was doing.
Speaker 5 (06:47):
And you're in a relationship too. I wasn't at a
time though, Okay, you weren't.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
Later you got a relationship.
Speaker 11 (06:53):
Wow, I was talking like a month and a half later.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
Okay, all right? And she but she got a man.
Did did you ever do it again after that? Or
was it one time drunken booty call? There was more
than one, Okay, So it's like a relationship.
Speaker 11 (07:05):
Because I know she's lived with a man, so like
they don't whole relationships. She just wasn't getting what she wanted.
Speaker 6 (07:11):
No, this is that pretty rehearsal boyfriend number two. Yeah,
that's definitely what's happening right now.
Speaker 5 (07:18):
I feel like you like her exactly I did.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
Yeah, I did it.
Speaker 6 (07:22):
There you go, you like liv on that side?
Speaker 13 (07:25):
Dude?
Speaker 7 (07:25):
Like, how was it? How was being the side? Dude?
Speaker 8 (07:27):
It was good?
Speaker 6 (07:28):
Ain't.
Speaker 11 (07:29):
I can't go into too detail, but just know that
a woman that actually has a baby is always the
best on telling you.
Speaker 6 (07:36):
And he sounds quite pleased with his decision. A woman
that has a baby, So she has a baby and
a man after.
Speaker 11 (07:41):
She has a baby, it's always the best. I'm telling
after it'd be different.
Speaker 7 (07:45):
Baby changes, body changes. How were you talking.
Speaker 5 (07:47):
About after birth?
Speaker 8 (07:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (07:49):
That after birth?
Speaker 5 (07:51):
Okay, all right, well it was no judgment. Thanks for
calling y'all.
Speaker 6 (07:55):
Have a you too.
Speaker 5 (07:56):
That was telling us a secret. Eight hundred and two
ninety two fifty one fifty. We can still take your
secrets for last word when we come back.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
We got yet.
Speaker 5 (08:03):
Kevin Gates and Jerika Gates.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
They are headed to court and will tell you what's
going on with the child and spousal support.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Its way up, yo, she's about to blow the lid
above this spot.
Speaker 6 (08:14):
Let's get it.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Oh ye angelus filling at yeae, Come and get the tea.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
All right, it's way up. I'm here with my girl
Lindsey Granger Bag and my guy Fred from Media Takeout.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
Let's get into this yet.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
So Netflix has put out the official trailer for Being Eddie.
I cannot wait to see this Eddie Murphy documentary and
it's premiering globally on November twelfth. Wo They have this
trailer that shows what the documentary promise is an unfiltered
portrait of a performer whose influence has spanned nearly fifty years.
Speaker 6 (08:46):
Sometimes people got to be reminded, like how much.
Speaker 5 (08:48):
We might forget some of those Listen, but listen to
this trailer.
Speaker 7 (08:52):
I've done so many different types of things.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
That appointment with this change the way we you comedy.
I started so young. Daddy was right out of high school,
but he was just fearless.
Speaker 9 (09:05):
Stuff took off because if they've never seen a young
black person take charge.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
At the number one movie, comedy special and pop song,
that was unprecedented.
Speaker 6 (09:15):
He's like a miracle.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
I mean when you put it like that all at once,
you know, if you think about what he's at. Seventeen,
he shared his stage with Jerry Seinfeld. By nineteen he
was on SNL and.
Speaker 6 (09:27):
I didn't even realize he was that young looking back,
you know, it just.
Speaker 7 (09:31):
It's a long career. I mean, I wouldn't be the
media take I got if I didn't.
Speaker 9 (09:35):
Oh, is that story about him and that trans person
going to be in this sense?
Speaker 5 (09:40):
I don't know, Fred, that's what you want to go.
Speaker 6 (09:43):
Do that I'm saying, I'm assuming No, he's producing it.
Speaker 5 (09:47):
He is he producing it?
Speaker 6 (09:48):
I don't know. I mean usually people are involved in
some way about that.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
I mean he's very actively involved. I mean, and there's
a lot of comedians. It's probably more about his career,
but who knows.
Speaker 7 (09:58):
Yeah, I mean we want to get to the bottom
of that.
Speaker 9 (10:00):
That would be a very interesting I mean, you know,
if you want to get ratings, that would be And
you have.
Speaker 6 (10:05):
To be critical yourself. You can't be like a fluff documentary.
You gotta be critical, you know. If not that that's
a critical talk? Do you guys?
Speaker 3 (10:10):
What's the Teddy Pendergrass documentary? And they addressed they actually
had the trans woman, and she addressed what happened that night,
which put a different perspective because rumors, rumors, rumors. But
then when somebody can be like, actually he met me,
he found out, and then he was just dropping me
back off once he found out.
Speaker 5 (10:27):
That's basically right.
Speaker 9 (10:28):
I mean remember two the whole like the view of
trans people, you know in the nineties when that happened,
and today's very different.
Speaker 7 (10:35):
So you know, be LGBTQ friendly.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
All right, And let's talk about Kevin Gates. So his
estranged wife, Duka is saying that he cut her off
and their children financially. She wants adjusts to order him
to pay seventy thousand dollars a month in child support.
She also says that he stopped paying for basic family
obligations like property taxes, their children's private school tuition.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
That he also flaunted up his well, flaunted his walk by.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
Buying eighteen luxury vehicles and a four point seven million
dollar estate. So she wants to make sure that she's
designated as the children's primary physical custodian. And she also
says ninety five percent of their time is spent with
her since twenty twenty three.
Speaker 6 (11:17):
I mean there's a definition of patients. Her picture would
be in there. When I look at like she looks
like Jenney go vibes and Kevin Gate has been doing
by he very possibly could do.
Speaker 5 (11:26):
She's very zen remember two shoes.
Speaker 9 (11:28):
Not just his wife too, she was his manager. She
was very instrumental and kind of putting together.
Speaker 5 (11:33):
Kevin Gates bry All right, well that is your yeety.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
When we come back under the radar and Lindsay you
have your podcast, I want to make sure we talk
about an interview that you did.
Speaker 6 (11:41):
Yeah, are upset with something we said not so wonderful
to some people. People are mad, but we got to
talk about it. Let's get some headlines, some more headlines.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
It's way up the news audition, the news that relates
to you. These stories are flying under the radar.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Yeah, it's way up with Angela Yee, I'm here with
my girl, Lindsay Granger, I'm bad and Fred m founder
of Media Takeout. So you know Lindsay has her podcast,
her World of Travel companion podcast to her series. Yes,
and you had Kevin o'learyon I did.
Speaker 6 (12:13):
I didn't know what he said. Was this crazy? But
it's been picked up everywhere. So basically we were talking
to him about AI. He's in this movie called Marty Supreme.
It comes out in December with Timothy Shallomey, and so
he was just saying how many extras were used in
every single scene behind him in bistros and everywhere. He said,
you know, basically that millions of dollars away. So he
doesn't agree with the fact that they didn't just use AI.
(12:33):
He likes your wood girl. Let's play this out.
Speaker 5 (12:36):
Yeah, let's sear the audio.
Speaker 12 (12:37):
Couldn't you simply put AI agents in their place because
they're not the main actors, that they're only in the
story visually and save millions of dollars So more movies
could be made. That same director, instead of spending ninety
million or whatever he spent, could have spent thirty five
million and made two movies.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (12:57):
So I know people been riled up about this AI.
Speaker 5 (12:59):
Yes they have. Can I we do this one headline?
Oh god, let's read it all right.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
This website avclub dot Com said Kevin o'larry has acted
in exactly one movie, but that isn't stopping him.
Speaker 6 (13:12):
You know, his answer to every question for him is money. Yeah,
it's about the bottom line. And I asked him after that,
you watched the podcast, like what about the people who's
dream it is to be in the background of like
a Spider Man movie and like and he's like, no,
just be a real actor in the forthcoming movie that
the director can afford to make now that they use
a I I.
Speaker 9 (13:28):
Mean, I will say though, that he has a point, right, Like,
there's so many movies that are coming out right now
that are flopping at the box office. You know, a
lot of the studios are losing a lot of money.
They're not producing the number of movies that they were
before because of the trades in the industry. So maybe
if movies cost a little bit less, you know, maybe
we could see more and better movies.
Speaker 5 (13:46):
He said.
Speaker 3 (13:46):
She can come in any age you want. She doesn't
need to eat, so she works twenty four hours a day.
Speaker 6 (13:52):
This is what the union is upset about.
Speaker 7 (13:54):
This is exactly the issue that man is cold blooded.
Speaker 6 (13:57):
I mean, do you think there's gonna be like AI
everything Radio? Nick was worried earlier when I brought this up,
that he might be having an AI replacement over here.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
For my goodness, Well, you think that this is something
that's a real thing though, like that, you know, because
I'm sure if you're a producer on a movie you
think about solutions like this.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (14:17):
I mean he said we can cost hundreds of thousands
or thirty five grand, And he actually has an AI
version of himself that's being developed in Abu Dhabi called
AI Kevin that can show up places for him. And
I'm like, and he says his wife's uncomfortable with that,
and I'm like, well, because.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
He won't know if it's him or not.
Speaker 6 (14:33):
Yeah, how does the machine know exactly how you're gonna respond? Yeah?
Speaker 9 (14:36):
I think so many people are so worried about efficiency
and making sure that the numbers are right and the
money's right. But I mean, we're going down a dangerous
road and we don't know where this road ends, but
it's probably you know, we've seen a lot of science
fiction movies and never lands up good.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
I've made a lot of jokes about how I wish
I had an AI person that could come up here
and kind of like do the show.
Speaker 6 (14:55):
But look at the emotion. It's just the real Like,
don't I'm so I notice, like if nobody cares about she.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
Would need to go to the bathroom.
Speaker 9 (15:03):
Wait a second, are we sure that we're not here
with the Ai Angelo right now?
Speaker 6 (15:11):
Glitch?
Speaker 3 (15:13):
But yeah, so it's but I do think and he said,
you can't stop the advancement of technology. So I'm spending
a lot of time investing in it. And he has
invested really heavily, as a lot of people have, you
know in ai So he also is out December twenty fifth,
by the way.
Speaker 6 (15:28):
Yeah, and I asked him why he keeps getting involved
in politics, and he had an interesting answer. He said,
I'm not getting involved in politics. I'm getting involved in policy,
and I want to make policy that makes sense for
me and the small businesses that I invest in. So
you'll see him on CNN always getting into argument with somebody.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
Well, you made a lot of headlines with this interview.
I want to say with a lot of things that.
Speaker 6 (15:45):
He can only on second episode of World of Travels.
Check the podcast out on the Hill YouTube page every Thursday.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
All right, Well, we do have the way up mix
at the top of the hour for you. Plus it's
also a Wealth Wednesday, and Chris Sayine is going to
be joining us. He and his wife retired at the
tender age of thirty seven. Jealous. Can you imagine being
able to retire at thirty seven years old? I missed
the He's from Grand Rapids, Michigan. He's a financial expert,
a motivational speaker. We'll talk to him. It's way up.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
Ask me what I got.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
The Way Up mixed kicks off at the top of
the hour, on the way Up with Angela Yee, Way.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
Up, just like the talk like they Angela Jean, like
they Angela jee Man.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
She's spilling it all. This is yet way up.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
All right, it's way up with Angela Yee. I'm here,
Linday Grangers here, I'm back. Fred Mwongaga Hunga is here
with us. Hey, founder and media takeouts. All right, and
let's get into some of this yet. So Pete Davidson
and Colin Joss they bought the Staton Island Ferry. I
don't know if you guys remember I saw. Yes, they
bought a Statton Island Ferry, one of the ferries, not
(16:48):
the whole system.
Speaker 5 (16:50):
But they had a plan.
Speaker 6 (16:51):
By the whole system, they had a plan.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
They wanted to make it into a nineteen sixties inspired
floating event complex with restaurants, a concert hall, six bars,
and hotel rooms.
Speaker 5 (17:02):
I don't know how that was going to happen on
this little ferry.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
But anyway, unfortunately, when they did this back in April
twenty twenty two, there hasn't been much movement on it,
and they've just been paying rent every single month to
doubt about.
Speaker 6 (17:13):
They said was ten great at.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
Least it could potentially be his ten thousand a month.
And so they've also been sued over some money that
they owe for a law firm that assisted them in
the purchase. They said they still have not received payment
for that, but they've been paying to dock that boat.
I wonder if they're going to just say, maybe this
wasn't a good idea.
Speaker 9 (17:34):
Yeah, I mean, buying a boat is an expensive endeavor.
Now you're going to buy it and then remodel it
and doing all that. That's that sounded like it was
destined to fail.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Well, Klein said this was the absolute dumbest and least
thought through purchase he's ever made in his life.
Speaker 6 (17:48):
I mean, we didn't talk about decent earlier. He got
into an industry that he studied and understands.
Speaker 7 (17:52):
Right, he has take study as fifty what to do with.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
That, they probably was smoking, like, Yo, you should buy
a boat, bro all right now, Michael Jordan made his
first appearance on the NBA on NBC broadcast last night,
and Mike Teriko sat down and talked to him, and
amongst the things they discussed was the last time that
he was really nervous.
Speaker 8 (18:13):
And I read in a house from the owner. He
came over to do pictures. He had grandkids, and he
had a basketball court. He says, I want you to
shoot one free throw. When I stepped up to shoot
your free throw, it's the most nervous I've been in
you stop it. Those kids heard the stories from the parents,
so their expectation is thirty years prior. And I haven't
(18:34):
touched the basketball. I hope you switched it absolutely.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
Can you imagine to be one of those kids? Be like,
so I'm Michael Jordan, miss and.
Speaker 5 (18:42):
Free throw right?
Speaker 7 (18:43):
Let me think about it.
Speaker 9 (18:44):
Michael Jordan's like the basketball superhero. Hearing about him being nervous,
I'm taking a free throws, you know, like gives you
a little.
Speaker 7 (18:50):
Bit of perspective.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
And we've always heard how competitive he is even off
the court, just in general.
Speaker 5 (18:56):
Well, he would get back on the court. Here's what
he said.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
I still love it it like you wouldn't believe.
Speaker 8 (19:01):
I mean, you know us say I wish I could
take a magic pill, put on shorts and go out
and play the game of basketball today, because that's that's
who I am. That's that type of competition, that type
of competitiveness, that is what I live for, and I
miss it.
Speaker 6 (19:15):
Some team would have him back, for sure. You think
you don't.
Speaker 9 (19:18):
Think so, I mean for for a quarter or two.
I mean, those knees, I'm not sure they can go
through a full game.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
Yeah, you know, there's one thing you cannot defy, and
that is like as you get older.
Speaker 5 (19:27):
Things change.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
I don't care how many massageses you get. I don't
care how much acupuncture you get.
Speaker 6 (19:32):
And it's better to go out on top.
Speaker 14 (19:33):
Right.
Speaker 6 (19:34):
He did come back.
Speaker 5 (19:35):
He was not to take one shot at the AIRBA,
you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (19:38):
So it's kind of and then.
Speaker 5 (19:40):
You become a meme. We already had the crying meme.
We don't need another meme.
Speaker 9 (19:43):
But I mean, I think if he would have joined
the Brooklyn Nuts, he might actually make the team a
little bit better.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
Oh stop, that's exactly did you say that? Because I'm
on my next question. That's so disrespectful, and the next
is playing tonight. Okay, let's see what happened. You just
you just but yourself some bad commission.
Speaker 6 (19:58):
And if he was worried about the little kid, the
one little kid, think about how many little kids will
watch that Michael Jordan and say wait, this is your
superhero to your parents they get me.
Speaker 5 (20:05):
Went backward place, They're like, no more Jordan's for us.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
All right, well that is your yut and when we
come back, we have asked ye eight hundred two ninety
two fifty one fifty. We got the whole squad here
and we are going to help you out. Fred is here,
Lindsay's here.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
It's way up everybody since whether it's relationship for career advice,
Angela's dropping facts, so you should you should know.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
This is ask ye what's up? Is way up with Angela?
Speaker 8 (20:30):
Yee?
Speaker 3 (20:31):
I'm here with my girl Lindsay Granger. Hey, but my
guy Fred m from Media Takeout and it's time for
you to call this up and ask any question that
you want to. We're going to help you, right, yeah,
keep our face straight between the three of us, we
have a world of experience. Yes, yes, and I think
I do in life all right. Eight hundred two nine
two fifty one fifty. Now this caller wants to remain anonymous,
(20:52):
what's your question for? Ask ye oh.
Speaker 15 (20:54):
I have been in a relationship for about two and
a half years now, but we have not hugged sex
in like two three months.
Speaker 5 (21:02):
What's going on?
Speaker 15 (21:03):
And he is struggling with some addiction problems, and then
we also moved into a house where there are kids,
and we don't have our own kids, so it's tough.
But there's definitely been like ample opportunity for him to
try something, but he just doesn't. And so I've been
like flip flopping in my head whether or not I
should stay or find someone else who makes me feel
(21:26):
the way I want to feel. But I know that
I have a great life with this man. I love him.
It would I wouldn't have everything I wanted, But the
lack of the physical attraction not on my part. It's
just he doesn't pursue me anymore. It feels like now
that he has me, there's no more chase.
Speaker 6 (21:42):
Did you guys like work through the addiction stuff? Are
y'all doing that? First, so he can get his mind
right to be a good partner.
Speaker 15 (21:48):
Yeah, we worked through the addiction stuff. He's on recovery,
on the road to recovery. He's been in remission for
I want to say at least a year now.
Speaker 7 (21:56):
Is he okay physically, like maybe dysfunction.
Speaker 15 (22:00):
Yeah, No, he's okay physically. He's perfectly okay physically. He
just doesn't really try anything. I'm his first real relationships
in high school for him, and that was, you know,
eight nine years ago. So I don't know if he
knows how to actively be in a relationship anymore.
Speaker 6 (22:15):
And how old are you twenty eight?
Speaker 5 (22:17):
Do you think he's cheating?
Speaker 15 (22:18):
No, No, he's not cheating. It's tolling me not that
he doesn't have time for cheating, like we're always together.
Speaker 5 (22:23):
Okay, Yeah, I want to say a couple of things here.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
Number one, you said there's kids in the house and
not yours, and so it makes it a little bit
harder and maybe that for him is like a little
awkward and he's overcoming this addiction still, that's a process.
When you ask him, what does he say?
Speaker 15 (22:40):
He doesn't know how I'm gonna feel, so he doesn't
try do you have him before, like, yeah, I try
a lot, okay, but then he always says, oh, you
know the kids are awake, or you know people are home,
and it's like people are always going to be home.
There's always going to be kids in the house.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
Can you plan to go somewhere out of this home
so there's no kids around, like a little staycation.
Speaker 15 (23:04):
We've tried that. I've asked him to literally plan us
a date on Saturday and Friday evening He'll ask me
what I want to do, and then Saturday afternoon we're
supposed to be leaving, so again, ask me, what do
I want to do?
Speaker 13 (23:17):
I hate that.
Speaker 5 (23:18):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, make a plan.
Speaker 15 (23:21):
I want you to plan it out.
Speaker 6 (23:23):
I think if you're twenty eighth, you know what I mean.
You try this, You gave it a solid you feel
like you gave it a solid amount of time. Maybe
it's just not working out, and that's okay. You don't
have to like you're not doing anybody a favor by staying.
Speaker 5 (23:32):
But Day wants to break up. Yeah, do you think
this isn't working?
Speaker 2 (23:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 15 (23:36):
I'll probably ask him that because we've had this talk
like three or four time. Sales, so I'm not sure
how else I can get it across to him in
different words.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
Or I tell him it's not working.
Speaker 6 (23:47):
Before you break up.
Speaker 9 (23:48):
I think you should get like, make the man like
a nice cup of tea and put like two or
three of those honey.
Speaker 7 (23:53):
Packs in there, don't you drug hand, and then see
what happens. You know, it might might change your life.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
So we got very mad at Another woman called in
and says she did that. People were like, oh my god,
and now honeypacks are not drugs. I just want to
point that out by the way, you know, I think
maybe you guys need to see a professional.
Speaker 15 (24:10):
Yeah, that's the one thing that I haven't brought up
yet because I wasn't sure how he would react to it.
So I think we're probably at that stage where we
need outside mediation.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
Yeah, and that's the last if he's down, and if
he's not down to do that, then it is time
to think about your exit strategy.
Speaker 5 (24:26):
Because if he.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
Wants to work on it and he's willing to do that, great,
But if he doesn't, then I don't know what more
can you do?
Speaker 5 (24:33):
All right, Well, good luck.
Speaker 6 (24:34):
Yeah, good luck.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
I would say, send you like some toys or something.
At least well, porn is free. You gotta do what
you gotta do.
Speaker 4 (24:42):
Girl.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
Well that was ask ye eight hundred and two ninety
two fifty one fifty. You can always leave a message
and ask a question that way and we'll answer it.
And when we come back, we have Chris Saye joining us.
He's a financial expert, a motivational speaker, a philanthropist and
author and he has a nonprofit and he'll be talking
to you you about how he and his wife retired
at the age of thirty seven.
Speaker 5 (25:03):
It's way up.
Speaker 13 (25:05):
About money, money, money, money, straight to my cockey.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
Angela is trying to help you get your money right.
Speaker 8 (25:11):
Now.
Speaker 5 (25:11):
That's a bag full of cash.
Speaker 2 (25:14):
It's Wealth Wednesday, and we drop a knowledge in just
a few minutes.
Speaker 6 (25:17):
That's up.
Speaker 5 (25:18):
It's way up for Angela Yee and Tim Hunter.
Speaker 14 (25:21):
You're back again, Yes, back again.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
Because you know what, it's going to be an amazing
time tonight. We're actually having this mayoral debate watch party
at my coffee shop Coffee uplifts people and this is
just to get people to watch the debates because we're
getting ready for voting. Early voting starts October twenty fifth
and November tewod and election day is November fourth. That's
your last time that you can possibly vote.
Speaker 7 (25:42):
Yes, that's correct.
Speaker 5 (25:43):
In this election. I got my NYC Votes voter guide.
Uh huh, let's see. Let's see.
Speaker 6 (25:48):
We got the voter guy right here.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
It comes to my house. Lets me know where I'm voting.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
Also, because it is important to know where are you're
heading to for your ballot.
Speaker 5 (25:56):
You can also vote by mail.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
This says October twenty fifth is a deadline to request
your mail ballot online.
Speaker 14 (26:01):
Yep, you've a questioned online. You've got to make sure
it's postmarked by election day.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Anybody who comes to watch the debate. New York Magazine
is also going to be having fun with us tonight too,
and they're gonna give away what I think like a
three month subscription to people who come to cup. Yeah,
some people are gonna end up getting those, So that's exciting.
Speaker 13 (26:18):
Well, it's good.
Speaker 14 (26:18):
You know, we love Mirik mag Thank you so much
to them for partnering. But we also, you know, are
thankful that you're letting us, you know, use your coffee
shop for civic engagement.
Speaker 13 (26:26):
It's going to be a fun night, all right.
Speaker 3 (26:27):
So let's talk about what is on the ballot, because
I always tell people make sure that if you don't
have this amazing voter guide that I have, you can
still go online and get it right.
Speaker 14 (26:37):
Yes, the voter guide is available online at NYC votes
dot org and it's available in thirteen languages other than English.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
I got three of them. I got Spanish. I got
Chinese sent to my house. Yeah, I think because my
last names. Ye, they just sent the Chinese one.
Speaker 14 (26:49):
So we try to like, you know, tailor it. And
it's on both sides. So if you are like, hey,
I don't speak this language, you flip it over. I'm
pretty sure you'll speak the one on the other side.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
Well, mister Tim Hunter, first let's talk about steps that
you have to take. First and foremost, make sure you're
registered to vote. Now, let's say you're not registered. Did
we miss that deadline?
Speaker 6 (27:06):
No we did not.
Speaker 14 (27:07):
You have till Saturday, October twenty fifth, which is the
first day of early voting. So if you're not registered yet,
and if you're watching this, thank you for watching, but
make sure you get registered to vote. Very very important
to be registered before you vote in the upcoming election.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
And we can also check and see and make sure
that we're still registered, right.
Speaker 14 (27:23):
Yeah, if they go to vote dot NYC, you can
check the Board of Elections website, you can check your registration.
We did miss the address change deadline, so if you
have not changed your address as of yet, you might
have to go back to the place where you were
previously registered to vote in this election.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
All right, So you have to be at least eighteen
years old, you have to be a US citizen, and
you have to be at your poll site by closing time.
These are the rules when it comes to going to
vote in person.
Speaker 14 (27:47):
And if you're in line before the polls close, you
have a right to stay in line until you have
your chance to vote.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
All right, get information? You heard it now. There's a
practice ballot here as well. Yes, so I always find
this to beularly helpful because when I go in, I'm
zoop zoop, zoom in and out because I already did
my practice ballot online. So you can see specifically for
wherever you live, right, who is going to be the
candidates that you're voting for.
Speaker 6 (28:10):
And you can also bring your voter guide with you.
Speaker 5 (28:12):
Oh you can, yeah, and just a walk in there
with that.
Speaker 14 (28:14):
Yeah, you just can't bring in any like information like
that's supporting a candidate, or you can't wear a T
shirt that's supporting a candidate, because that's electioneering. You can
only bring non partisan information. And poll workers know, they
know what a voter guide looks like and it's a nice,
nice color this year, so you can bring that with
you to the pole site, just to make sure that
you're taking your time and you know, making sure that
you're making sure your vote counts.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
If he says he's not voting, don't date them girls,
that's a red flag.
Speaker 5 (28:42):
But yes, And the debates start at seven pm.
Speaker 14 (28:45):
Yep, they start at seven, seven to nine. It's gonna
be like two hours, so you know, buckle in, grab
your popcorn or if you're at cup, you know, grab
your drink and grab you know, some snacks and you know,
or maybe one of those New York magazine cookies and
you know.
Speaker 6 (28:57):
Enjoy, let's have fun.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
Thank you's so much, Tim Hunter for joining us New
York City votes. Don't forget we are gonna be at
coffee uplifts people soon night. The debate started seven, so
get there early. I would get there around six music, drinks, food,
I'll be there. New York Magazine will be there giving
away free three month subscriptions. You could potentially win that.
And next up, we have a Wealth Wednesdays with Chris Saye.
(29:21):
He's a financial expert motivational speaker. He also created the
one hundred K Challenge, which also helps out people like
us who are trying to get things done in the community.
Speaker 5 (29:31):
He retired at the age of thirty seven. It's way up.
Speaker 8 (29:33):
I had a.
Speaker 14 (29:34):
Dream of fifty wealthy and I don't mind sharing my
wealth dogs.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
Getting you straight financially, mentally and physically. This is Wealth
Wednesday on Way Up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 5 (29:43):

Speaker 3 (29:45):

Wealth Wednesdays.
Speaker 5 (29:48):
Everybody.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
We are taking you way up today with the one,
the Only.
Speaker 5 (29:53):
The People's Chaine.
Speaker 4 (29:55):
Chris Saye is here and I don't know what we
would even say about Christine.
Speaker 5 (30:01):
You are a best selling author, two times best selling author.
Speaker 4 (30:04):
You are one of the top financial coaches in the world.
You're a massive philanthropist with your one hundred Days of
Giving initiative.
Speaker 5 (30:13):
Top one hundred money expert on Forbes yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:15):
May salute to them Youtobe creator all that stuff. But
let's jump right into one of the most interesting things
about you. We have your beautiful wife there. You retired
debt free at thirty seven years old.
Speaker 6 (30:28):
Seven years old, that is amazing.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
Does somebody retire debt free?
Speaker 8 (30:32):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Safety and Angela like a lot of athletes go broke
three to five years once their playing career was done.
So I was an athlete at Michigan State at the
time looking at this kind of stuff, and so I
peeped that in her and I would just see how
she would move. And I knew I was broke, holding
onto every dollar I had on my refund check. And
that was one of the things we took into our marriage,
(30:57):
which was, like, you know what, saving being in intentional
owning everything. We own our houses, we own all our cars,
and so we don't have those payments going out reoccurring
every month. We were able to stack, we were able
to set aside going on trips for six seven months
at a time, to just be intentional about paying down that,
paying off that, and that's how we were doing it.
(31:19):
But it was just consistent behaviors week in and week out,
month in and month.
Speaker 3 (31:24):
When you think about these student athletes now with these
nil deals, and you've talked about how both you and
your wife did not financially have it like that, how
do you think you might have been different? Like you
think you would still be this person that is.
Speaker 5 (31:40):
Retired at thirty seven, because.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
Imagine, you know, being young and not having that financial
savvy and then having access to money.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
My thing would be, would I be the same? I
can't say. I think what I went through prepared me
for how I came out now. I did know, even
though I didn't make it to the NFL, I was
only looking to be that guy with like a three
to five year career, and the things that you guys
see me doing now would have been the things I
was doing. The philanthropy, the stuff with the youth, the
(32:11):
stuff with the athletes.
Speaker 13 (32:12):
I was going to do that anyway.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
I was just going to have former NFL star Chris
saying getting that the community.
Speaker 5 (32:19):
I just do have that some of it.
Speaker 13 (32:24):
So yeah, so it all worked out.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
But I think about these athletes all the time in
terms of well the money derailed them because they might
not ever see that substantial of money at one time.
Speaker 13 (32:35):
If things don't pan out for their.
Speaker 4 (32:37):
When I have that in common. I started up. I
was an athlete too, and my fight work in financial
literacy started by creating financial education programs for athletes. The
giants Washington mysticks and we hear all this. You know,
oh they blow their money. You know they go broke.
But when you dig down into it, the number one
reason athletes go broke our friends and family, and they
(33:02):
also go broke because of the overconfidence, the overconfidence you
have to develop for sports. They bring it to their
money game.
Speaker 5 (33:08):
Oh I'm going to invest in this so it'll do whatever,
or they.
Speaker 13 (33:11):
Think they're gonna get another contract.
Speaker 5 (33:12):
When you say you're retired, though you guys are not retired.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
I just want to put that out there, like, yeah,
go around what.
Speaker 6 (33:21):
You want to do.
Speaker 13 (33:23):
That's the that's the blessing and and all.
Speaker 6 (33:26):
Somebody said, my retirement is going to look a lot.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
Somebody said, somebody said, y'all just retired from y'all corporate jobs.
Speaker 5 (33:32):
That's what y'all transitioned into a different.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
No, Angela, we we retire and it's spent five years
and how fast time go. But we retire and check
this out. When all of that happened for us. We
just was chilling. But both of us are go getters.
Like we we were, like I said we were. We
were the top people in our respective institutions before retirement
(33:57):
and stuff like that. I was on YouTube telling people, Man,
this is how we became in there, just how we
became that free. My YouTube channel blew I had zero
subscribers Angela my YouTube channel blew up from us talking
about that, and then somebody in the comments was like,
what you invest in, bro, And I was like, man,
I just buy mutual funds and ETFs and index funds.
(34:18):
Stacey my YouTube, I went from zero subscribers to one
thousand my birthday j July seventeenth. This is all twenty twenty.
I had zero subscribers. I went to one thousand in June.
My birthday July seventeenth, I had ten thousand subscribers. Mind
you guys, we debt free, telling and doing all of
this stuff. By the end of the year, I had
(34:39):
one hundred thousand subscribers. We made two hundred thousand that
year on YouTube. So magic being debt free and did
you get a free two hundred thousand essentially.
Speaker 6 (34:49):
On top of it, you weren't even expected.
Speaker 13 (34:51):
That wasn't even expecting.
Speaker 4 (34:53):
That was the stock market. Everybody was in love with
the stock market. Everybody wanted to invest in the stock market.
That's why so many people flock to you. But what
I love about you have this one hundred K challenge
coming up.
Speaker 6 (35:05):
It's free, it's free.
Speaker 4 (35:07):
It's amazing how many different people You're not just talking about.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
Stock absolutely, man, I have a holistic approach to financial
literacy to helping people build wealth in the stock market.
Speaker 13 (35:16):
And that's from everything.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
I need your financial foundation to be right, everything from
your rock to your RAID, your HSA which is a
health savings account, down to your money market accounts and
how you savings accounts. I'm getting all of your stuff together,
your debt, student, all the stuff including then we get.
Speaker 7 (35:34):
To the stocks.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
And so the one hundred K Challenge is a free
challenge I do every year. It's a legendary initiative that
we have that people can participate in so I can
teach them, show them and walk alongside them to help
them go from zero to one hundred K. And so
everybody joins each and every year. Some people join at
the beginning of the year, some people join halfway through.
(35:55):
But no matter when you join, the lessons, the nuggets,
the gems that I'm dropping and every day will help
you get your money right.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
And you start on January first.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
We start on January first, and I teach them everything
from how to invest, how to read the chart, how
to buy their first investment, how to put their money
on autopilot, just the nuances that still are not talked
about enough in our community. And steal are things that
not enough of us are engaged in at the level
we need to be engaged at.
Speaker 4 (36:24):
Thank you so much for having to Wealth Wednesdays. And
everybody follow Chris on Instagram, Instagram it's just at Christine.
Speaker 13 (36:30):

Speaker 4 (36:30):
