Speaker 1 (00:02):
What you all been waiting for.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh you're tapped in the way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
All right, Yes, it's labor season. Today is way up
with the Angela Yee. Today is my girl Keys birthday.
That's my makeup artist. Tomorrow Santi Gold's birthday. The day
after that is my mother's birthday. Monday is my brother. No,
Sunday is my brother's birthday. It's like everybody's birthday coming.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Up right now? What's up, Dan? Good morning and good morning?
No mayno today?

Speaker 4 (00:29):
No, may no today. Jumped out the whip Oh.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Man, I thought he said yesterday. He wasn't coming.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
He jumped out the whip head.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
No, all right, Well, anyway, today is also a Wealth Wednesday.
And we do have Barry Coleman joining us from the NFCC,
the National Foundation of Credit Counseling, and he's going to
be giving you, guys, debt advice, credit advice, and so
get ready with your questions about finances. But listen, the
National Foundation of Credit Counseling is a fantastic resource for

(00:56):
anybody who needs help getting it together, whatever type of
financial plans you have now or planning for the future.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
So we want to make sure, we give that to you.
It's free advice.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
But let's start to show off with some love and
some positivity. A lot going on. Jimmy Kimmel was back
on the air last night. You know we'll be discussing that.
Mariah Carey was on CBS Morning today. We got that
for you as well. We're all over the place today.
Let's get it started. Love positivity eight hundred two nine
two fifty one to fifty.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Call us up. Let us know who you want to
shine a light on is way up?

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Shine, turn your lights on, y'all, lights on it, spreading
love to those who are doing greatness. Shinna light on them,
shine a light on. It's time to shine a light
on them.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
All right, it's way up with angela ye, and it's
time to shine a light. And today I want to
shine a light on Shanda Rhymes. She is making history.
Dartmouth is going to be naming a dorm in her honor.
She's the first woman and the first black alum to
have a dorm named in her honor. She pledged fifteen
million dollars for a new undergrad residence hall, and so

(02:00):
that's a huge deal now, she said, Dartmouth wasn't made
in my image, but it is possible to remake it
to include my image. There has been a continual making
and remaking of who Dartmouth is and for who belongs here.
So she graduated from there back in nineteen ninety one,
and she's definitely still supporting her alma.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Mater, So shut out to her. I love that.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Can you imagine having like some hall at your alma
mater named after you?

Speaker 1 (02:28):
That's a huge honor, Dann. Why are you just shaking
your head?

Speaker 5 (02:31):
Oh that's awesome.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Yeah, it's a five story Shonda Rhimes hall.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
It's going to break ground early next year and it
will open in twenty twenty eight.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
This Wesleyan gonna do it for you?

Speaker 1 (02:41):
If I donate fifteen million dollars? Am I going to
do that?

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Are you gonna do it?

Speaker 3 (02:44):
I don't have it. I would have to literally finance
that and get a line of credit. All right now, Cody,
who do you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 6 (02:53):
I want to shine a light on my life right now,
specifically that I'm just now getting over your hole Asadi Sporner.
She has a great heart and it's aren't out here
as a black man. We're trying to do, you know,
Libe you life in general, we got so many outside
distraction seven my head something like that.

Speaker 7 (03:11):
But I just want to.

Speaker 6 (03:12):
Shine a light on her, and you know things would
give me great from love.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
I love that for y'all. All right, well, thank you
for calling, shining light on her. What's her name?

Speaker 6 (03:20):
Her name is Janelle, but everybody call the tree.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
All right, well Janelle aka Tree, shine a light on you.
Thank you so much for calling. Thank you, yes, And
if you want to shine a light, you can still
call us up eight hundred and two ninety two fifty
one fifty and China light that way. And when we
come back, we got your yet. And let's start it
off with CBS Mornings. Mariah Carey sat down with Gail
king Man. Imagine having to ask Mariah carry about whether

(03:45):
or not she's dating Anderson Pack.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
It happened, we'll talk about it.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
It's way up, they says, soothing the rooms from industry shade.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
To all of gossip out, sending Angela's feeling that EyeT.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Yeah, it's way y'all.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Put Angela ye, and it's time for you. And let's
started off with Mariah Carrey.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
This morning.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
She was on CBS Mornings with Gil King, and she
had some things to say.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
You know, she's got a.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
New project coming out this Friday. We're getting ready for that.
But here's what she had to say about going through
a really tough time after losing her mom and not
having seen her sister in a while.

Speaker 7 (04:19):
It was tough because I have always had an interesting
relationship with my mother, but towards the end, I was
with her the whole time. My sister I hadn't seen
in years, and I feel really badly about that as well,
But that's because I tend to have a guilt complex.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Do you feel you made peace with your mom?

Speaker 7 (04:38):
I do. She said a couple of things to me
that were very healing.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Well that's good. See, that's nice to get that type
of closure. And then she also, Now this was a
tough ask because Gil was definitely trying to ask her
about her relationship. If she's in one with Anderson Pac
and he's featured on the album they sound great together,
by the way, super talented. Here is how Mariah answered,

(05:07):
but didn't quite answer the question.

Speaker 7 (05:09):
He just likes to hold my hand. He just grabs
my hand. I don't know what he's doing.

Speaker 8 (05:13):
But this is how the rumor struck because he was
there at Christmas and everybody knows what Christmas means to you.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
He enjoyed it. Did you enjoy it? I did.

Speaker 7 (05:22):
There was a hot tub there.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
It was nice.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Okay, hot tub, we like that.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
But the album is called Here for It All and
that comes out on Friday, all right. And NBA Young
Boy he was supposed to be performing in Chicago at
United Center. That was going to be happening this week,
but they canceled. And by the way, this cancelation was
less than two days before he was supposed to take
the stage.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Now. A rep for the United Center repeated this statement.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
The statement was, the United Center has made the decision
to cancel the NBA Young Boys show schedule for Wednesday
today in Chicago. If you purchase through ticket Master, refunds
will be issued autumnally.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
I'm surprised they booked that at all.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Like I'm surprised they even said, you know, let's do Chicago.
I just I can understand why that would happen. And
I've been looking at some of the footage. I think
he's going to be here actually this weekend at the
Barclays and be a young boy, so I am happy
to see him back out on the road again. I
don't know if Chicago's the best idea.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
You're taking your.

Speaker 9 (06:23):
Head, Yes, Dan, I mean these videos the tour stops
are crazy. The energy is crazy.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
And listen, that's why they have all these memes of
NBA young boy fans. Yeah, you saw the one kid
he was like fourteen or fifty beating off.

Speaker 9 (06:36):
The security as an old man too. Yes, I mean
he was in the wrong section. Security was trying to
do his job and it was bad.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
Listen, Oh, that was awful, all right?

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Why If and Lucci and Wallow had a good sit
down conversation and this is called Where's Wallow? It's an
extension of million dollars worth of game And here's some
of the preview of what their conversation sounded like.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
Yeah, at first, you know, we.

Speaker 10 (07:01):
Tell them I'm on vacation, I'm work them, And then
it got to a point me like, I'm not gonna
keep lying on my kid because they gonna think I'm
not deaf for them. I don't want to be with them,
like why he ain't came home. So I had to
explain to them when I told him the truth, like,
that's what I'm going through right now. But I'm gonna
be home, you feel. I don't know when, but I
know I'm coming home.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
You know, Wife and Lucie and young Thug have been
taking chats at each other on social media. They've been
beefing with each other. But they both have albums coming
out on Friday.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Too, so there's also rumors they might be on a
song together.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
I saw that too, that maybe this is also gearing
up for them to be on the song together.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
So I don't know if they play like that or not.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
But by the way, I interview Wife and Lucie before
he went to jail, and there's a lot of things
in that conversation that were really interesting. So you know,
I don't be known about street code like that. So
I learned a lot, all right. When we come back
about last night, where we discussed what we did last night,
I stayed up late to watch Platonic, by the way,
because those episodes come out every Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
I know y'all don't watch it, but I care. It's
way up.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
So about last night, yes, I went down It's way
up with Angela yee, and it is time for about
last night.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Now, Dan, have you watched the show that I've been
telling you to watch it?

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Platonic?

Speaker 4 (08:21):
I haven't gotten to it.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
I know, all right, well last night it is episode
nine of season two, so you have play. And by
the way, the episodes are like thirty minutes.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
You're not that long.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
But one thing that happened, and it's a platonic relationship
between a man and a woman. Will and Sylvia, and
he's been staying in her like back garage guest house
because he needed a place to stay, but he's been
staying rent free. So then he decides that he's gonna
set boundaries and he wants to pay her some rent.
He gives her two hundred dollars Like here, I'm gonna

(08:51):
start paying rent. I want to ask you something. Have
you ever had a friend like.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Stay with you?

Speaker 5 (08:57):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (08:58):
And then did you charge that money or did they
just stay with you for free?

Speaker 4 (09:01):
They stayed for free. But it was not too long.
It was only like two weeks.

Speaker 9 (09:05):
But I will say like I will say, like the
second half of that second week, I was getting over it.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Yeah, that's not long at all.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
I know.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
I've let people stay with me from months and they've
never done anything, like they haven't paid a bill, didn't
contribute any money. I can imagine staying at someone's house
and not even offering anything or.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
At least like being a huge help around the house.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Right, like can I do this? Can I cook? Can
I clean? Like all that something? And then I would
want to get out of there so bad.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
I would never want to get too comfortable like staying
in someone else's house where I'm not even trying to
leave and figure it out.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
My only experience with that was in a one bedroom
apartment too, so you would.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Definitely say I've been sick of it after two days.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
Trust me, we were, but both of us were. It
was kind of like a mutual feeling, you know.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Yeah, And things like that can actually ruin a friendship
because then one person feels like, oh, you're not a
good friend because you're not helping me with this, and
then the other person feels like I just want.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
You to get out.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Yeah, And so I know how you rectify that. It's
hard to like try to get somebody to leave because
and then now you come home.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
It used to be like I don't even want to
go home.

Speaker 5 (10:08):
Yeah, do you ask?

Speaker 1 (10:09):
Because I don't feel like seeing this person, what do
you say?

Speaker 3 (10:11):
I have to be like it's time for you to
find a place like get out, because how.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
It was the relationship with said person.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
After for a little while it was okay.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
But I think it's always like some people be mad
that you help them, Like sometimes people hate the fact
that they needed your help and they act mad about it.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
And what you can't You can't be responsible for other people's.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
On securities though, and then I think the main thing
is that you try really hard, because I would try
really hard not to be like, well I did this,
like I don't even want to have to do that.
But people act like you didn't do anything for them
because you're not still doing it. Let's not forget all right,
Well that is about last night when we come back. Oh,
tell us a secret. Eight hundred nine two fifty one fifty.
Call us up any secret you have, We're here to

(10:52):
help you out. That's eight hundred nine two fifty one fifty.
Call us up and tell us a secret again. Eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. It is a
no judgment zone. You are anonymous. We're only gonna judge
you if you're still staying at somebody's house and they
want you to get out and spend years.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
It's way up.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Judgment free zone.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Tell us the secret who it's way up at Angela.
You know what time it is, It's time for you
to call us up. And this no judgment zone, you
get to stay anonymous and tell us something that you
haven't shared with anybody else before. Eight hundred two nine
two fifty one fifty anonymous color tell us a secret,
no judgment.

Speaker 11 (11:26):
I really don't want my child's father to like be
able to get her and visit because I feel like
he's not saved.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Why do you feel that way?

Speaker 11 (11:35):
Well, I dated him for a while and like I
literally sacrificed like spending time with him because he had
a daughter with someone else. He would like her in
the car with no car so you didn't like too
or d a round and now he goes in day
drinks and oh, I want to put my kid through that.
Like I saw this first hand, which his other kid

(11:56):
I called my mom. Window was like, look, we had
this weird dynamic where he don't care for me because
I'm the new woman, but I'm literally keeping your child
like live. So you could be my friend because I'm
like staying home and mother of your kid while you're
a home while he just lives his life, and that's
what he wants to do.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
Well, no judgment, and after that, you decided to have
a kid with him.

Speaker 11 (12:17):
Okay, don't judge me. I was getting old and outside
and I did like ide up so it was okay.
But I just want my kid and I want to
like live life and like he doesn't have to do anything,
Like he doesn't do anything.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Definitely, Well, we're talking about safety, so I think definitely
tell him, like, look, I want to make sure you
guys are good, but certain things I'm not comfortable with.
And I would try to see if there's a way
to get him to do parenting classes.

Speaker 12 (12:45):
Carl, I'm talking about Winnebagel and just keeps driving away
from him.

Speaker 11 (12:49):
Oh, he can't find me, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
At the end of the day, though, it's better for
him at least he wants to be in your kid's
life together because sometimes you know, the dad will be absent.

Speaker 11 (13:00):
I caught him sleeping with other people and he still
wants to try to sleep with me. That he's even
trying to get her because he just literally stopped talking
to me for like a month because I was like,
I don't want to have text anymore. So you ain't
here about getting your daughter then, and now all of
a sudden you want her because I'm not like calling you.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
Like yeah, but you know what, at the end of
the day, you got to separate, Like having him in
his daughter's life is going to be better for your daughter
than not. You know, I just want you to well, Okay,
I'm not this is not advice, but yes, thank you
for sharing Anon a Misslie.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
I'm praying for you and your child.

Speaker 11 (13:37):
Okay, good luck on your show.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
Well, that was tell us a secret eight hundred and
two nine two fifty fifty. Just in case you couldn't
get through, you could always leave a message and tell
us a secret that way, And when we come back,
we got your et CARTI versus JT.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
I mean, I don't know what's gonna end up happening
with this. Bye.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
You know what, Hopefully they run up the numbers and
get some good music out of it, just like Kendrick
and Drake did.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
It's way up.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
She about to blow the lid off this pot. Let's
get it. Angelus feeling that yea tea, Come and get the.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
Tea all right? His way up at Angela yea, and
it's time for your yee tea.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
Man, This back and forth has been a lot, so
I don't know if I'm gonna leave some things out,
but it all started with Cardi B's and My the
Drama album.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Now.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
She did take some shots at JT, and in the
midst of doing that, it's also shot at little Uzi
Vert on the song Magnet, listen to this.

Speaker 13 (14:36):
You a shady, You've been trashed since birth. Mama didn't
watch Brindles baby.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
A fee that right is doing?

Speaker 13 (14:47):
Get no feature Jesus mad, she got it, she'd be
sharing bad swaming. She bottles dignal doodos in.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
His whoa Okay?

Speaker 3 (14:56):
Well at any rate, when this album dropped, of course,
people were going crazy over certain dishes that we're on
the album Now. JT is responding to an interview that
Chris Blake Griffith did where he's been accusing Stephan Diggs
of drugging him then basically trying to unalive him for
turning down his advances. And this is something that I

(15:20):
will say Chris Blake Griffith has said before so JT
responded to a post about it. She said, this is
effing nuts and sad. Gay men should be protected. I
feel like this isn't being taken seriously enough. Cardi B.
Babyfather a gay man, not because of how he dressed
or expressed hisself, but because Chris said it out of
his mouth.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
Justice for Chris. I stand with the gays.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
And she also responded to somebody saying couldn't wait till Friday,
and she said, no, I don't give a f if
that be sell one million units, She's gonna always be
a fraud, non rapping be couldn't even find a word
to rhyme with fake. We saw it with our own eyes.
And then she goes on to say, my man does
this mind's his business work?

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Hor I take here.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
If his family inspired his generation and doesn't snatch a
his style is what made him a little oozy. Now
Cardi B responds to all of this is saying Chris
lied because he was stealing and got caught.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
There's receipts for that.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
He lied on Javonte Davis too, and changed his story
a thousand times. Now here is what? And then Cartie said,
I want justice for them babies Jr. Man make you
aboard every time asked what he told me about how
he felt when he wanted to see Britt in that
courtroom and she didn't show up? Or do I need
to play the audio and don't let me say what
he was saying about rock Nation?

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Just ungrateful?

Speaker 3 (16:32):
All right, Well, here's what JAT has to say about
some of these allegations, including the abortion claims, et cetera.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
They're supposed to be a mother room.

Speaker 14 (16:42):
Is she threatening a snitch on some motherbody because she
don't have anything to say about them? The trying to
spread fake tea about abortions when she stood her illiterate
ass in front of millions of people and said she
stand for pro choice and show me me typing out

(17:03):
with mother insteads or I'm calling the police on your
ass for defamation of parenting.

Speaker 3 (17:07):
A lot of allegations flying back and forth while Cardi
B was outside. And here's what you have to say
about having receipts for days and I got.

Speaker 13 (17:15):
A seat for day nasty one.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
I haven't got asty news.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
JT did respond to these ashy nude allegations.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
I got your news and a mother's phone.

Speaker 14 (17:28):
I bet it ain't no glass object up. I bet
it ain't no room for le get your crazy ass
on stripper.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
WHOA. This was a lot.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
But in the midst of all this, Cardi B's updated
sales projections for am I the Drama are going to
be about one hundred and twenty five thousand to one
hundred and fifty thousand, according.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
To Hits Dailly Double.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
Now, in addition to all of this, I also want
to point out that Cardi B's episode of Call Her
Daddy dropped today and she addresses a lot of things.
Should we get into that later or should we Yeah,
we'll get into that later because it literally just drops.
I've been able to get some good clips from that,
So just a lot going on between the two of them.

(18:11):
And I did see somebody talking about JT going and
it looks like JT went in the studio and has
recorded something. We don't know what that's gonna be yet,
but I did see that post as well. So listen,
y'all enjoyed seeing the guys beef.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
I guess we gotta be okay with this too.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
As a woman, I hate to see it, but you know,
hopefully people run up their numbers when it comes to
this and when we come back under the radar. These
are the stories that are not necessarily in the headlines.
They are flying under the radar, but you definitely need
to know about them anyway. Kamala Harris recently did a
sit down. She has a book on the way. We'll
talk about it. It's way up.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Take the news.

Speaker 15 (18:46):
News.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
Yes, it's way up with Angela Yon and it's time
for your under the radar stories.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Now.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
Former Vice President Kamala Harris is speaking out. She has
a new bo called one hundred and seven Days, because
you know, she did run for a president and I
lost all seven battleground states. And here's what she had
to say when she was on the View yesterday about
grieving during that time after losing.

Speaker 16 (19:14):
But that night I grieved in a way that I
have not since my mother died.

Speaker 1 (19:20):
The pain was it was not at all about losing
a race. I knew what it was going to mean
for the country. I was going to say, for the family,
that's what and that's how I felt. For the country.

Speaker 16 (19:31):
All I could say over and over again is my God,
My God, my God.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
In addition, she talks about why she believed she lost
the election and that there were many factors. One of
them that was the biggest she was that she did
not have enough time to campaign. A lot of people
were saying that one hundred and seven days. In addition
to that, she was at Rachel Maddow and she talked
about who would have been her first choice for VP.

Speaker 16 (19:54):
When I had to make that decision with two weeks
to go, And maybe I was being too cautious, but
that's the decision I made, and I, as with everything
else in the book, I'm being very candid about that. Yeah,
with a great deal of sadness about also the fact
that it might.

Speaker 4 (20:10):
Have been a risk.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Well, you consider running in twenty twenty eight.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
That's not my focus right now, Okay, So yes, And
she goes on to talk about in this interview, how
building a proper resistance to this administration. People have to
understand that this is bigger than Donald Trump. So you
can check those interviews out. Now, speaking of Donald Trump,
let's talk about wealthy family offices here, because there's a

(20:35):
lot of people benefiting under this presidency, but seventy one
percent of family offices say that they are now investing
in men's major leagues, with tech and venues next in line.
So a Goldman Sachs survey found that twenty five percent
of already put money into teams, arenas are ticketing.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
Another quarter are exploring this space.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
So Julia Koch brought into the giants Mark Walters ten
billion dollars in the Laker and Bay Area families are
taking a piece of the forty nine ers.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
They said.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
The interest is strongest when it comes to major men's leagues,
but investors are also backing new WNBA franchises as well.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
They're looking this.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
They're looking at sports as a way of diversifying and
tapping into multiple revenue streams because of inflation. All right, well,
that is your under the radar. We do have the
way it mixed for you at the top of the
hour and listen. It is a wealth Wednesday, So you
know we love talking about finances. Well, Barry Coleman is
going to be joining us today. He is the vice
president of Program Management and Education at the National Foundation

(21:34):
for Credit Counseling the NFCC. He has over twenty four
years of experience and credit counseling. So any questions you have,
get ready to ask them. We got some financial advice
for you today for free, courtesy of the NFCC and
Barry Coleman.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
It's way up. Every wanted to try an Olympic and
Paralympic sports.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Try fencing. It's fast, say and easy to start. Find
a beginner class near you at USA Fencing dot org
s Last Try Fencing. That's USA Fencing dot Org's Last
Try fencing.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
Way.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
She's like the tut like the angela gee, like they
angela gee.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
She's spilling it all.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
This is yeaky way up, all right, his way up
at angela yee, and it's time for your yeaty. So
Jimmy Kimmel hit the stage last night for his late
night show, and people thought he wasn't going.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
To come back. In particular, Donald Trump thought he was fired.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
But here's what he had to say about his intentions
when he got pulled off the air and got canceled.

Speaker 17 (22:34):
It was never my intention to make light of the
murder of a young man. I posted a message on
Instagram of the daves killed, sending love to his family
and asking for compassion, and I meant it. I still do,
Nor was it my intention to blame any specific group
for the actions of what it was obviously a deeply
disturbed individual. That was really the opposite of the point

(22:57):
I was trying to make.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Yeah, that's what I was saying.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
He did say anything bad about Charlie Kirk, that was
and I said that when we first were discussing this,
and he got very emotional, as he does on the
show from time to time. This is not anything new,
So I just want to point that out as well.
If you watch the show, you know that there's times
that he does get emotional and he does cry. And
I think reporting on real events it can do that

(23:21):
for you.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
Now.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
He also goes on to talk about censorship and how
Unamerican censorship is.

Speaker 1 (23:27):
It's not just about this show. It's about our rights.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
This show is not important.

Speaker 17 (23:31):
What is important is that we get to live in
a country that allows us to have a show like this.
They tried to coerce the affiliates who run our show
in the cities that you live in to take my
show off the air. That's not legal, that's not American,
that is un American, and.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
It is so bad, all right.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
In addition, he talks about how Donald Trump was definitely
trying to get him up out of there.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
He tried his best to cancel me. Instead, he forced
millions of people to watch the show not backfired.

Speaker 17 (24:01):
Bigley, he might have to release the Epstein files to
distract us from this.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
Now, and think about all of these networks that aren't
airy that are missing out on these ratings, because wasn't
nobody watching y'all in these local networks for not airing
a show. Now, Donald Trump posted, of course, on truth
Social I can't believe ABC fake news gave Jimmy Kimmel
his job back. The White House was told by ABC
that his show was canceled. Something happened between then and

(24:28):
now because his audience is gone and his talent was
never there. Why would they want someone back who does
so poorly, who's not funny, and who puts the network
in jeopardy by playing ninety nine percent positive Democrat garbage.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
He has yet another arm of the DNC.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
Into the best of my knowledge, that would be a
major illegal campaign contribution. I think we're going to test
ABC out on this. Let's see how we do. Last
time I went after them, they gave me sixteen million dollars.
This one sounds even more lucrative a true bunch of losers.
Let Jimmy Kimmel rit in his bad ratings, dant to
ask you, what do you think about resurprised?

Speaker 4 (25:02):
Are we surprised?

Speaker 3 (25:03):
And the fact I mean this is ridiculous, Like I
can't make a joke about you without you getting your
panties in a bunch.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
It's crazy.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
By the way, in the midst of all this, Disney,
because a lot of people canceled their Disney subscriptions, they
revealed that they're going to increase the monthly price of
their Disney Plus plan among others. After all this happens,
so they have unveiled the next amount of price increases
as well.

Speaker 4 (25:27):
I'll get people to sign up again.

Speaker 1 (25:30):
Good job, guys.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
I know some people were like, well, I don't miss
it all right. Now, let's talk about Cardi b. She
was on call her daddy and here's what she had
to say about rumors about her that she doesn't appreciate.

Speaker 8 (25:41):
There's a rumor that, like, my boyfriend dumped me because
my BBL stink. And it's just like the thing about
me is I'm very very a no about how I smell.
I don't know who made the rumors that bbls think.
But it's like it doesn't stink. Well, how would a
BBOs think if you if you don't got no open wombs?

Speaker 1 (25:59):
Why because your ass is fatter?

Speaker 8 (26:01):
You're not a clean fat ass?

Speaker 5 (26:02):
You do?

Speaker 1 (26:03):
I do now.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
In addition, she talks about the person who was the
most fun celebrity that she's partied with.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
She said it was Meg thee Stallion.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
She also talked about being named an industry plant and
all kinds of rumors about her.

Speaker 8 (26:19):
It's no more like I think they did. Don't get
along with each other because somebody from the higher ups
wanted to make and destroy And this isn't that. No,
this is what I was destined for. It's nothing more
than just people didn't get along with each other, and
that's just that. But I'm done with that.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
Other things she discussed was the time that she got
her butt peers and then the piercing fell down the toilet.
It cost her thirteen thousand dollars. She also talked about Lizzo.
She talked about how she became a stripper, just a
lot of different things. So yes, there you go, so
you can check that out. She's been doing a ton
of press, but I know people like to hear unfiltered

(26:59):
Cardi and this was super unfiltered. She did also talk
about Stefan Diggs falling in love all of that. All right, Well,
that is your YE team, And when we come back,
we have Barry Coleman joining us. We already told you
this is a Wealth Wednesday. He is the vice president
of Program Management and Education at the National Foundation for
Credit Counseling. He has over twenty four years of experience

(27:21):
in the credit counseling industry.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
But he is here live to take your call.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
So call us up eight hundred and two nine two
fifty one fifty any question We got you. This is
like an asky and ask Barry. Situation is way up.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
I've had a dream of.

Speaker 18 (27:37):
Wealthy and I don't mind sharing my wealth dog.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
Getting you straight financially, mentally and physically. This is Wealth Wednesday.
On way up with Angela yee?

Speaker 1 (27:45):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (27:45):
His way up at Angela ye? And it's a Wealth Wednesday.
So Stacy Tisdall is here.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
Happen Wealth Wednesdays, so everybody.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
And it's an honor to have Barry Coleman with us,
the vice president of Program management and Education at the
National Foundation for Credit Counseling the NFCC. So you're gonna
be helping people today as they're calling in live right.

Speaker 19 (28:02):
Yes, absolutely, here to share some education, a few tidbits
to help folks better navigate debt and credit situations, which
is what our organization does. You know, We council consumers
one on one. We are a nonprofit five on one
C three organization which is an educational organization under the

(28:22):
RS and our whole goal is to provide financial education,
but also to help people that may be struggling with
debt sort of navigate the situation develop a strategy to
help them to overcome their particular situation.

Speaker 20 (28:37):
People don't like talking about debt credit, they don't like
thinking about it, but when.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
They sign up having it, they don't like having it.

Speaker 20 (28:44):
No one likes when they sign up for counseling with NFCC.
Just signing up alone helps them. You were just explaining
to Angela and I, when you sign for us, it
brings your debt current.

Speaker 15 (28:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 19 (28:56):
Absolutely so for those consumers that go to credit counselor
and ultimately decide to enter a debt management plan, it
helps to bring their accounts current, which on time payment
history is the number one factor that influence is a
credit score. And so once they're in a debt management plan,
their accounts become current if their past due, which automatically

(29:18):
starts to give them credit towards positive payment history.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
So they start over again. Yes, absolutely, you just have
to keep it going.

Speaker 19 (29:26):
Yeah, you have to be consistent and make those on
time monthly payments and over time you'll see your credit
score you rise dramatically. We did a study actually, and
it showed that those consumers that enter a debt management
plan that had the lower tier of credit scores within
a year had raised their credit scores fifty percent.

Speaker 20 (29:47):
Right now, Angela can talk about this. Having that credit
counselor that live one on one person, that accountability partner,
that support makes all the difference.

Speaker 5 (29:55):
Yeah, it's really really important.

Speaker 19 (29:56):
It's hard to do it by yourself, especially if you're
you're digging out out.

Speaker 5 (30:00):
It takes a lot of.

Speaker 19 (30:02):
Consistency, you know, willpower, and having that counselor there to
encourage you, someone that you can reach out to once
you're in their programming you have questions, someone like you said,
stays to keep you accountable.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
I think is really important, and I think it's important
to have a plan and to know that instead of
ignoring it or trying to like kind of just chug
along and do the minimum.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
Now you can figure out a way to just plan ahead.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
Like you said, in a year, most people will see
their credit score really be.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
Affected and rise.

Speaker 5 (30:33):
Yeah, I've fifty point.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
All right, Well, listen, this is the time for you
guys to ask whatever questions that you have because it's
not often that we're going to have Barry Coleman in
the flesh in the studio to be able to help
you out. And we're going to also have a way
for you to also reach out to the NFCC to
get a free session of counseling, right, Stacy.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
That's right.

Speaker 20 (30:50):
It's in the Wealth Wednesday's bio on Instagram. Just follow
Wealth Wednesdays on Instagram and there's a link bio to
sign up for a free credit counseling session. And everybody,
this is a no shame, no judgment zone. Anybody can
get into debt trouble, so don't hesitate. What's the number, Angela.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty call us
up and talk to Barry Coleman. He's the expert. That's
eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. Let's get
some help, help us on the way it's way up.

Speaker 18 (31:17):
I had a dream of wealthy and I don't mind
sharing my wealth dog getting you straight financially, mentally and physically.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
This is Wealth Wednesday, on way up with Angela.

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Ye, what's up?

Speaker 3 (31:27):
His way up with Angela? Yeah, it's a Wealth Wednesday.
So Stacy Tisdale is here. Happy Wealth Wednesdays, everybody, and
what a blessing. Barry Coleman is here with us, the
vice president of Program Management and Education at the National
Foundation for Credit Counseling, here to help you out.

Speaker 5 (31:42):
Happy Wealth Wednesdays.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
All right, So calling, I guess some advice right now
on the spot. Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty.
What's up a Leyah, you have a question I do.

Speaker 12 (31:52):
I have a lot of debt, like I have a
few refolls and belly bigtions.

Speaker 21 (31:56):
I mean, I was a young mom.

Speaker 12 (31:57):
So I didn't say a lot of things at the time.
I have poor management skills. But a lot of people
have been talking about Chapter seven bankruptcy and I wanted
to know if it was really a good option for me.

Speaker 5 (32:09):
Bankruptcy is certainly an option.

Speaker 19 (32:11):
Now I can't say, you know, whether it's a good
option for you or a bad option for you. As
a matter of fact, I can't even recommend that you
do it, because that would be given legal advice. What
I would recommend, though, is to talk to a credit
counselor first. You may be able to find a way
to deal with this without going to bankruptcy. And as
an aside, before you can file bankruptcy, you got to

(32:33):
go through credit councilor anyway. It's part of the law,
so it's designed to show you what other options are
available before you actually file. So I would consider, you know,
talking to a credit counselor, such as one from our
organization in FCC.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Yeah, because you have to do it anyway. Can I
ask how much you owe?

Speaker 12 (32:50):
About thirty eight thousand?

Speaker 1 (32:52):
All right?

Speaker 3 (32:52):
So regardless, you are going to have to talk to
a credit counselor even if you decide to do that,
and like Barry said, they'll present you with different options.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
And so what's the website.

Speaker 19 (33:02):
Yeah, it's an NFCC dot org is our website. We
actually create a special for this program at FCC dot
org fork stash credit nine one one, so you could
go there as well, and we'll connect you to one
of our NFCC member council agencies to schedule apartment.

Speaker 5 (33:19):
It's absolutely free.

Speaker 20 (33:20):
And Leah, we made a shortcut if you follow Wealth
Wednesdays on Instagram, that link is in our bio.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
And you've already done the hard part.

Speaker 20 (33:28):
You just calling in and asking for help and what
to do next. That a lot of people don't do that,
and that's what makes all the difference. So you should
be proud of yourself and you're already on your way
and it's free, free, and it's a real person.

Speaker 5 (33:40):
You can do it, Aliah, you can do it.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
We're pulling for you.

Speaker 16 (33:43):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
Hey, James, what's up?

Speaker 15 (33:46):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (33:46):
How you doing?

Speaker 1 (33:47):
What's your question for Barry Coleman from the NFCC.

Speaker 5 (33:50):
Myself, I've got a credit card ditch and I'm trying
to get out of it. I'm trying.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
I'm not trying to dig it.

Speaker 6 (33:55):
I'm just trying to pay it and get out some hundred.

Speaker 11 (33:58):
And there's there's those be all kinds stuck out there
that should help you.

Speaker 19 (34:02):
So jameson, Yeah, I would definitely recommend that you talk
to a credit council because they will look at your
entire financial situation, everyone that you owe, they'll look at
your living expenses, they'll look at your income, and they'll
determine what the best course of action is based on that.
You know, it's hard to give general advice unless you

(34:23):
can actually see the full picture also and to understand
what your goals ultimately are. So I would definitely recommend
talking to an NFCC credit counsel. They can sit down
with you completely confidential, non judgmental, and they can help
you develop a strategy and a plan.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
To reach your goals, and they don't charge you.

Speaker 19 (34:42):
The initial counseling session is free of charge. If you
happen to decide to enroll in debt management, then there's
a small nominal fee, usually about fifty sixty dollars per
month fee. But even with that, those that into a
debt management plan wind up paying less per month than
they would if they made just the minimum payments on

(35:04):
their own.

Speaker 20 (35:05):
James, if you go to if you follow Wealth Wednesdays
on Instagram, the links in our bio, or go to
teamwealth Wednesday dot com to get that first free session
that Barry was just talking about.

Speaker 3 (35:15):
I also want to point out that the NFCC is
not just like a TV commercial ad type of place,
because I know you said a lot of times, how
do you know who to trust?

Speaker 1 (35:23):
Right?

Speaker 5 (35:24):
Right?

Speaker 3 (35:24):
And so can you just explain why the NFCC is
a trusted place?

Speaker 5 (35:28):
Absolutely? Yeah.

Speaker 19 (35:29):
So we've been doing this since nineteen fifty one. Education
is first and foremost what we do. That management plan
is just one of those tools. The council will recommend
what's right for you and your situation. So they always
keep the consumer in mind and they make the recommendations
that are best for them.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
Well, it's a Wealth Wednesday, and you guys are really
calling in today eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.
We do have Barry Coleman, the vice president of Program
Management and Education at the National Foundation for Credit Counseling,
and he is here live helping you out its way
up there better dream.

Speaker 18 (36:02):
Of wealthy and I don't mind sharing my wealth dog
getting you straight financially, mentally and physically.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
This is Wealth Wednesday on way up with Angela.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
Ye, what's up? His way up with Angela? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (36:13):
What a special Wealth Wednesday. This is today. Stacy Tisdale's here.
Of course, Happy Wealth Wednesdays everybody.

Speaker 20 (36:19):
We are so excited to have Barry Coleman from the
National Foundation for Credit Counseling here to join us. It's
an amazing nonprofit that offers free one on one credit counseling.

Speaker 3 (36:29):
And we're taking your cause alive. We have Sierra on
the line. Do you have a question for Barry Coleman
from the NFCC about your credits?

Speaker 21 (36:38):
Yes, I do. My question would be right as a
single mother, how would I initiate the management plan and
were mortgage Linda would be willing to work with me
while I have this planning family.

Speaker 5 (36:51):
That's a great question. Good question.

Speaker 19 (36:53):
We do see clients that come to us that are
enrolling in debt management plan that are all so trying
to qualify for a mortgage, and typically what happens is
the mortgage company wants to see your payment history in
the debt management plan.

Speaker 5 (37:09):
Typically I would say about a year twelve.

Speaker 19 (37:12):
Twelve payments and if those payments have been on time
and you know, made satisfactorily, then they consider that as
a positive thing, so it doesn't exclude you from getting
a mortgage. If you're in a debt management plan. In
many cases it can actually help because those history of
those on time payments within the plan is viewed positively

(37:33):
by many creditors. So I would definitely recommend, you know,
schedule an appointment with one of our counselors, let them
know what you're trying to do, and then they can
develop the plan for you to set you in the
in the right direction.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
Do you work directly with mortgage companies.

Speaker 19 (37:48):
We don't work directly with mortgage companies, and that mortgage
debt is not allowed to be an a debt management plan,
but we do provide payment history if the client gives
permission for us to share it, and then that way,
you know, we kind of help them on their home ownership.

Speaker 20 (38:04):
It's very favorably look yes, absolutely, being a young parent.

Speaker 21 (38:08):
Like I'm trying to exactly the ability with me and
my team.

Speaker 12 (38:14):
And you know from them.

Speaker 19 (38:18):
I can also share with you that that many of
our NFCC member agencies also how to prove housing council
agencies too, so they have the housing expertise and the
credit and debt expertise, typically in house, but they can
help you, you know, develop that plan to get you
in the house, and you know, we we know that

(38:38):
in most cases that's how you know many of us,
you know established and Bill wealth is through home ownership.
So I would certainly recommend you know, speaking to an
NFCC member agency about your plans.

Speaker 20 (38:50):
You should be really proud of yourself because you're showing
your kid exactly what to do when they want to
fix this aspect of their life and try to reach
for their goals. And believe me, they're watching. We are
proud of you. And you asked where you sign up.
You can go to our website which is Teamwealthwindnesdays dot com.

Speaker 1 (39:07):
Right on top.

Speaker 20 (39:08):

you can follow Wealth Wednesdays on Instagram, and all the
links you need to sign up for that free first

Speaker 3 (39:37):
And I'm just excited for people to take that step
into managing their debt the way that they can, in
a way that I feel comfortable like sending them to
the NFCC.

Speaker 19 (39:47):
Absolutely, you know, taking that first step to even to
ask the questions here today, I think as a positive
thing and they should be commended for that, and I
would encourage them to take that next step to contact
the NFCC to speak with one of our counsels one
on one.

Speaker 20 (40:01):
Well, Meg, shout out to all the people that call them.
It takes a lot to speak about your credit and
your debt openly, but that's the best first step. And
now just follow through. Sign up for these free credit

has made I like amazing. His name is Timothy Burdett,
who is my wonderful boyfriend.

Speaker 21 (41:06):
He makes me feel loved, he.

Speaker 15 (41:08):
Makes me feel wanted, He makes me feel absolutely amazing.
He makes me feel like I am the only girl
in the world. And I hope and I pray that
I can make him feel like he's the only man
in this in my world. I love you that, and

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
