Speaker 2 (00:03):
It's Angelo what I call her.
Speaker 3 (00:05):
Yeep, Yeah, everybody happy Martin Luther King Day.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
I'm here with my girl, Jasmin Brand. Good morning, Angela,
fresh back from Detroit. We'll be telling y'all all about
that throughout the week because it was so much activity
going on. So it was very active and very cold.
This this polar vortex thing happening, so you know, just
bundle up, stay safe. But there's a lot to talk
about today because it's also Inauguration Day. You know, this
is a rare occurrence. But we'll tell you more about
(00:37):
those details about the inauguration and Martin Luther King Junior
Day happening on the same day. It doesn't happen often.
We'll discuss it. It's way up at the Angela, yee.
When we come back. Let's shine a light eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty. Anybody that you want
to shine a light on, call us up, let us
know we down. It's way up. Shine turn your lights on, y'all.
(00:58):
Light spread to those who are doing greatness. It's time
to shine a light on them. What's up his way up?
But Angela, Yeah, I'm here with my girl, Jasmine Brand. Yes,
I'm here and it's time to shine a light now, Jasmine,
you wanted to shine a light on somebody?
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Yes, I wanted to shine a light on my homegirl,
Chantelle's daughter, Skylers. I'm in Detroit all the time. My
hair Sylas is in Detroit. Her name is Chantel. But
when I'm getting my hair done in Detroit, Skyler, she's
nine years old. She's always there entertaining me with all
these like stories about like the little elementary school drama.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Oh don't call it little. That's the thing is.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
She tells me.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
First of all, she's smart and she's fly, so we
can take that part. So she's she's a really smart girl.
She goes to Mason and Girls Point and like outside
of Detroit. But anyway, Skyler keeps me entertained. And every
time I'm there, Skylar's like, are you gonna mention me
on the radio? When you're gonna mention me on the radio?
So I want to shine a light on Skyler for
being smart, funny and being able to tell a great
story in terms of the drama at her elementary.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Here you go, Skyla, you got it all right now, Devna,
who do you want to shine a light on.
Speaker 6 (02:01):
I'm actually calling to shine a light of mine. Now
fiance I had called last year, but we just got
engaged in the twenty eight But my real reason for
calling it is because she is a residential counselor at Hackenstock
Hospital that deals with kids with mental health and all
the type of you know struggles. But she has been
a constant strength to them. They do, she loves them,
(02:22):
She takes that extra step to make sure they're okay,
check in, and she's just all around amazing. It's been
three years and she continues to amaze me and she's
the constant blessing to my life. I just want to
shine a light on her. And her her name is Loving.
Speaker 5 (02:35):
Loving.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Her name is Loving, yes, right right?
Speaker 5 (02:43):
So the world needs people like her.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
When I tell you, if you have to deal with
that as a parent, I'm sure that knowing that you
have somebody that actually cares and is going to go
the extra mile, it just makes me.
Speaker 6 (02:55):
So much about it, man. And you know what's crazy
to my first iPhone I got in twenty sixteen, my
password was Loving and then I met her in twenty
twenty and her name was Loving. My far as it
comes there, oh, never.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
That is amazing. Listen, this definitely feels like me. This
is definitely God's plan. All right, Well, thank you for
calling and congratulations shine a lot on both of y'all.
Speaker 6 (03:20):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
All right, Well, that was shining light. And if you
couldn't get through, eight hundred two nine two fifty one
fifty is a number you cannot let us know who
you want to shine a lot on. We can play
that during last Word or if it's you know, something
you feel like is amazing, leave your number and we'll
call you back. It's way up, oh way up.
Speaker 6 (03:38):

lot of these secrets have been going viral, full transparency.

telling her you're bisexual?
Speaker 2 (05:13):
All right. I think I feel like I heard her react.
Speaker 7 (05:16):

Speaker 5 (05:33):
That was the first Angela.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
That was the first time something like that has happened
safe space with us. I know about with your your girl.
I think it's also about the cheating right when he
wasn't answering the phone. You lets because even if I
feel like, even if it was another woman, that's an issue.
Speaker 5 (05:49):
Yeah, that's an issue off the break, but.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Then you add another layer to it.
Speaker 5 (05:53):

iHeartRadio app and click that microphone and leave you a
secret that way. And we tell these secrets often right now,
here's the weekend. We're often it's way up. I'm going
everybody has since with its relationship with career advice, Angela's
(06:16):
dropping facts. You should know. This is ask what's up?
His way up with Angela? Yee, I'm here and Jasmine
from the Jasmine brand is here and we got Chris
on the line. Chris, what's your ask?
Speaker 8 (06:28):
Ye, my girl? I mean this is not a new thing.
Female gone period.
Speaker 9 (06:31):
They have their emotional cycle, but you know when she
gets on her she's extra moody. And my my question is,
you know, how do I really go about females on
their e mental cycle? Should I leave them alone?
Speaker 6 (06:42):
Should I do the opposite?
Speaker 2 (06:44):
You know, but you can't just be normal or what
do you mean as a man?
Speaker 9 (06:48):
You want to make her feel comfortable one night, you
tell me, But at certain times nothing's working because she's
on her mental cycle and she's going.
Speaker 8 (06:56):
Through stuff in her head. So I'm just.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Asking listen, Jasmine, let me tell you something. Jasmine did
not come out from my birthday trip one year because
she had her period.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Yeah it was I have really I have. I have
really bad well I have really bad cramps. And every
woman is different. Angela doesn't have have severe cramps. I
used to have really bad cramps where I had a baby,
and so you saying your girlfriend is very moody during
her cycle.
Speaker 9 (07:20):
Yeah, she said.
Speaker 8 (07:20):
She said she has bad crams too, and I would
tell her like.
Speaker 7 (07:24):
It could be worse.
Speaker 9 (07:24):
She's like, no, this is the worst.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
No, No, the answer is not telling her it could
be worse.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
That's number one, because you have no idea what it
feels like like that, yeah you have. You don't know
what it feels like, so you can't tell. That's like
her telling you if you got kicked in the testicles
or it could be worse.
Speaker 5 (07:40):
You like, nope, Like this is about it.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
But what does she say when you ask her, Look,
how can I best uh support you during this time?
What does she say?
Speaker 8 (07:50):
She said she feels like her own space so she
could think about stuff and whatnot. It has nothing to
do with me or whatnot. I guess she just going
through stuff mentally. But I'm telling her, like, I understand
you're going through these things.
Speaker 9 (08:03):
But as a man, I could feel a way because
I feel like.
Speaker 8 (08:06):
I can't do anything for you.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
You can't can't help you.
Speaker 5 (08:09):
No, you can. You can get but.
Speaker 8 (08:12):
That's kind of frustrated sometimes though not being able.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
To listen but your par but you have to. But
you have to be at peace with this. So you
she wants her space, so you give her space. If
she has a favorite meal that she likes around that
time or right before her cycle, if she likes dark chocolate,
or maybe she likes a heating pad, or maybe she
just wants you to check on her every now and
again and just give her. If she just wants space,
that's really simple, and you gotta really you got to.
(08:35):
You have to let go and know for a week
every month. This is you know, this is how you
support her invisibly, like you just do little small things
that might help her be more comfortable.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
But if she says she wants to be left alone,
at least she's telling you explicit directions.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
Yeah, you can.
Speaker 6 (08:50):
Even tell me.
Speaker 8 (08:51):
She'll tell me that.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
But then now tom.
Speaker 9 (08:52):
She'll say, oh where you at or stuff like that.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
You know, listen, it'll change something. So before her next cycle,
you say, hey, do you know what you think you'll need?
Because I just want to be prepared. If not, it
can change, I'm okay with it. Maybe get her a
little gift period package, give her, like some of her
favorite snacks and some app believe or whatever medicine she
likes in a little heat pad and and mind your
business and just check on her.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
You know what, though, it also doesn't hurt to see.
Sometimes certain foods and things can affect how your period
affects you. So on a holistic level, there might be
things that could be beneficial that you could do some
research on that could be helpful for her.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
Definitely, when I changed my diet, it got a little
better for me, So that may be something she want
to consider too.
Speaker 9 (09:34):
Now, you're right, you're right, because the other day I
started a d and I shared with her.
Speaker 6 (09:38):
She started smiling.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Yeah, all right, well, look I feel like YA will
definitely work through this though.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
He's a good boyfriend.
Speaker 8 (09:46):
Yeah, thank you, Thank you, guys.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Okay, take care. That was ask ye eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through,
you can leave a message and ask a question that way.
And you, guys, remember we don't judge in tell us
a secret. We also don't judge and ask you. There's
no such thing as a dumb question. We're definitely here
to help you out. It's way up.
Speaker 5 (10:06):
Pick up the phone, tapian to get your voice heard.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
What the words, here's the last word on Way Up
with Angela.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Ye.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
What's up? His way up at Angela Yee. I'm here
with my girl, Jasmine Brim. Yes, ma'am sad ending to
Capricorn season.
Speaker 5 (10:21):
Oh yeah, it is a Sadden. Yeah, I get it.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Today is Inauguration Day, but it's also Martin Luther King
Junior Day. So that's a beautiful thing. And you guys remember,
no matter what, this is the time when we really
got to look out for each other, really help each
other out. I have a lot of things that I'm
working on this year already just to honor that commitment, okay,
and so I'm excited to be able to announce some
of them as they're happening. I'm literally having meetings talking
(10:47):
about things I can do to help businesses in the community.
You know, I've started this Wealth Wednesday's Real Estate Club
that you can actually join and become a member of.
That's what we need to do, lift each other up,
absolutely all right, Well, of course this is your show,
so you have the last word.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
I hear about ten lawsuits about Donald Trump to save
him money. I was a ghostwriter for his campaign years ago,
and I am still helped him out until now, you know.
So I'm a friend of his, but yeah, I am
hitting money, you know, so that he could have it
for his children, so his children will have something, you know,
so that he can have a good life for his kids,
(11:23):
you know, since you know, the court system messed him
up like they do a lot of minorities.
