Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
What I call Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
It's way up with Angela. Yee, I'm here and what
an exciting day because DDG is here guests hosting with
me today.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
What's up? What's up?
Speaker 3 (00:19):
I know you're used to this, but it's a little
different being on a radio.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
I'm used to it. I feel like this is less pressure.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
You feel like that, Okay, but you know what, it's
interesting to me. I was thinking about this as I
was going over like some stories. With you streaming all
the time and for hours and hours at a time,
you have to always be careful of what you're saying
because you're like any little thing could be taken out
of context, highly media trained. But then you don't want
to be too careful either at the same time.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Yeah, I mean, you know, it's different with radio, but
you know, I think I know what you're saying. What
not to say?
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Okay, all right, Well we're going to get into it.
And congratulations on an album that I feel like, well,
first of all, doing well numbers wise, but also just
people talking about it. That has to feel good.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yeah, it feels great.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Blame the Chats because they helped actually make this album.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Yeah they did.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
You know, that's what makes it special. But we're going
to talk about that throughout the day again. DDG is here,
he's going to be guest hosting today. But let's chin
a light. That's where we spread some love and some
positivity on somebody who's done something special for us. If
you want to shout somebody out, that's like, look, I
want to just spread some love to this person because
they did X, Y, and Z. We start to show
off with love and positivity. That's what's about. We're not
trying to catch you in the craziness today.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Oh we're not gonna be messy today.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Unless you want to. We'll talk about it this way up,
shining light when we come back.
Speaker 4 (01:35):
Shine.
Speaker 5 (01:38):
Turn your lights on, y'all, spreading love to those who
are doing greatness.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
Shine the light on them, Shine the.
Speaker 5 (01:45):
Light on it's time to shine a light on them.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
It's way up with Angela yee and excited to have
DDG here with me today guest hosting. And I know
you want to shine a light on somebody, right mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
I want to shine a light on my team that's
been moving me around correctly. You love them and co
manager eveny my chat people online that's been rocking with
me for these past sixty days. You know, I've been
lying for sixty days straight.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
Sixty days straight is crazy, crazy, right, That's good. But
that's great money.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Yeah, it is right right, it is.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
You know, saying sometimes it'd be like this a lot,
but then you have to be like, well, you know
there's a reason behind it all.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Yeah, I mean, you know it's money, definitely motivating, but
you know it's really about building a community and just
connecting with the people that support me.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
I think it's great when you can do both too,
because you also give back, so I think that's important too.
So not only are you going to blame the Chat,
you also want to thank the Chat of course, and
they actually helped crack this album. I got a lot
of questions about it later too, because I know people
were like, well, why didn't this make the album? But
we'll talk about that in a little while, because we
had a chance to see a lot of people come through,
a lot of people record. But then we're like, I
(02:55):
feel like there's a Deluxe on the way.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely in the works.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
Okay, all right, well that is who DDG wants to
shine a light. And now you get to shine a
light on somebody. Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty.
What's okay? Who do you want to shine a light on?
Speaker 6 (03:09):
I want to shine a light on my man, my man.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Okay, shine a light on him.
Speaker 6 (03:15):
I just want to thank him for being that's a
great step glass to my daughter, and for being a
good man, and for being a hard working diesel mechanic,
and for taking care of the household.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
I love that you love your man. How but did
something happened last night? You had a good way?
Speaker 6 (03:31):
Actually, you know we went to sleep.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
It was a good sweet that's a good night. You
sound like you're glowing today. Well you know what you
gotta do tonight when you get home. I all I am, okay, girl,
get to it. Well, thank you for calling. Okay, okay.
What's your man's name? Don Juan John one? Kay loves
you all right? Well, thank you for calling. Thank you,
(03:53):
Thank you too. That would shining light eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one fifty if you couldn't get through,
you could leave a message and shine a light for the
last word. And when we come back, man, it's time
for some YETI and we are going to talk about Diddy.
His trial is actually starting today. Jury selection starts this morning.
Will keep you updated its way out.
Speaker 5 (04:13):
So about last night, I went down all right this
way up at Angela Ye, and DDG is here guest hosting.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Are we playing DDG music today? We are? When twelve? Okay,
got to make sure we got to blame the chat.
We got to make sure we play this.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Gotta play it.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
So what have you been up to since you've been uh,
since you put out the album? What's been going on?
Speaker 1 (04:35):
I've been partying every night.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
You don't even like to do that. You want to
be home.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
I am. I'm a homebody, small for nobody.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
So but have you been having fun though?
Speaker 1 (04:48):
Yeah, I've been having a ball. I ain't gonna lie.
I haven't been getting a lot of sleep though.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
Okay, but you are drinking coffee. I told you I
appreciate the fact that you drink coffee.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
You know it's better watch you. Okay, I'm doing machae
something like that.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
Well, last night, you know, I told you I was
in St. Thomas. I was there for Carnival. Just got
back late last night. Our flight was delayed. I had
a good time. They actually had an earthquake while I
was there. Really yes, And so I'm gonna tell you something.
Horror movies are my favorite movies. Have you seen Sinners yet?
Speaker 1 (05:21):
Yes? Really good movie.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
All right, so I haven't seen it yet, So now
that I'm here this week, I'm gonna go see it
at the end. But anyway, there was so I was
watching horror movies because that's my favorite genre, and so
like to something in the morning, there was an earthquake.
The Best started shaking, and I started thinking I was
about to get possessed, because you know that always happens
in the movies. The Best starts shaking and then next
(05:43):
thing you know, you're possessed by like a demon. I
actually woke up and got nervous.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Have you ever had sleep paralysis? Well, you couldn't move.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Yeah, I think that's happened to me a couple of times.
Where you want to in your mind that's happened to you.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Yeah, yeah, all the time. It's crazy, it happens to
you all the time, all the time. But like when
it do happen, I see some in the corner, like
some looking at me.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
You think that you wow, let me hold on, let
me look up because that is definitely a sign you like.
So you like horror movies, I do. I was watching
something called Delicious on Netflix. That was so I was
watching that right before I fell asleep. Then the earthquake happened.
The best started shaking, and then the TV turned off
on his own, and I didn't know what was going
on because you know, I'm from New York. We don't
(06:24):
have earthquakes like that. Yeah, and so I've been in
an earthquake one time. I was in La and so
that's the only time I've ever felt it. So I
didn't know what was going on. So I was like,
oh my god, I'm getting possessed by a double I
don't know what. I'm like a demon. I don't know
what I'm supposed to do. What would you do in
that situation, I.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Mean, try to get out the building.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
I think you think that. I don't know if that's
gonna work. But anyway, so that was but again I
was outside. I was insane time as we were at Carnival,
we were at Juvet, so what we had was a
wet fit. This year, it rained the entire time. It
was definitely like all types of all types of flood
flash warnings. But we were still outside doing a thing
(07:02):
and we had a good time. So I just want
to shout out everybody that was out there. Beanie Man performed,
Chava Ranks performed. That was my first time ever seeing
Shaba Ranks perform. Do you know who Shaba Ranks is?
Speaker 1 (07:12):
I know the asaf Berg song.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Exactly right, so he pays on mines to him. I
was thinking that too when I was there. I was like,
a lot of these kids aren't gonna know Sha Buta.
But he's in his fifties. I'm gonna show you some
video when I tell you he was jumping out. He
was doing so much like stuff that I was like,
we were all watching, like he's an amazing shape to
be jumping around and running around on the stage. So
it was exciting. So shout out to everybody that came
(07:35):
to the USB at the same time. As for Carnival.
Now when we come back, you're gonna love this. This
segment is called tell Us a Secret. This is where
people call in and we have to not judge them, okay,
and they're anonymous and they're gonna tell us a secret. Now,
people do have some crazy secrets. I know you do,
but people are gonna call in and tell us something
that they've never told anybody before, and our job is
(07:55):
to not judge. Just listen and be like, wow, thank
you for sharing that with us.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
Okay, so we all want to give no insight.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
You can a little bit, but it's just not judgmental insight.
So sometimes people call in and they're like, oh, you know,
I lied and told my husband that the baby was his,
but it's his brothers and stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
That's crazy.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
See, you just judge. But eight hundred two fifty one
fifty call us up. It's tell us a secret. It's
me and DDG. We're not gonna judge you. You'll be
on the stream eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.
Disguise your voice and call us up. That's eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty. Tell us a secret.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
This is a judgment freeze on. Tell us a secret.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Uh, it's way up. For the angela yee DDG is here.
I just called him in a lie. My producer was
in here, like explain this stuff, and you said, okay,
got it. And then I said did you understand what
he said? You're like no, yea, yeah, I wasn't listening either.
I was like, that was complicated. But yes, it's time
for tell us a secret. And this is where you
guys call in. You get to stay anonymous. And I
know right now there's a lot of people on the
(08:55):
chat that are stand they're on a call in, and
I feel like the phone lines blew up after you
said it. So I feel like a lot of people
calling it are going to be from this chat. Since
DDG is here today and your hair is growing back?
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Oh you like it? Should I grow up back?
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Uh? So, yeah, we're going to talk about that because
you cut your hair off, right, you know, reaching milestones.
A lot of times people cutting their hair off, it's
representative of something even more than just a regular haircut,
especially when you had the locks. But you said you
wanted to grow it back.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
You still feel like that a lot of DMS lately.
Oh yeah, I kind of like the short hair Ora,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
Okay, well that's a secret. The DMS is coming in,
But we want to hear your secrets now. Eight hundred
and two ninety two fifty one fifty name is call
it What's your Secret?
Speaker 6 (09:42):
One time me and my best friend we went out
of town, and you know, we put the hotel room together.
Is their friend at the town was with us, and
when he went to sleep, I kind of got into
it with his earl while he was sleeping.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
The next feel over, Well, so you slept with your
friend girl?
Speaker 6 (10:01):
Yeah, I was in the same hotel.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Room while he was sleep.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
That's very risky.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Yeah, but the girl was with it though.
Speaker 6 (10:08):
Yeah, she was with him, man, she wanted to be quiet.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
Why would you have done if he woke up?
Speaker 6 (10:15):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (10:16):
I was just like, oh, oh.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Did it ever happen again after that? Or that was
a one and done?
Speaker 1 (10:25):
It was a one and though.
Speaker 6 (10:27):
But he's still wearing now. And like he called me
to go like on trips like that time, and I
just like every time he comes and asked me to
go on the trip by come over with some lame
mass or you know, a live alive for excuse.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
Wow. All right, Well, thank you for sharing with us,
I guess, and sharing with him.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Good luck man, Hopefully he can kill to be here.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
You think you would ever tell him?
Speaker 6 (10:52):
No, That's why I'm calling y'all.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Okay, all right, school D said he did that before too.
Thank you for calling, all right, Thank you he said, no,
I didn't. What's up Anonymous color? Hello, listen, you want
to tell me a d DG A secret?
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Yes, I dude?
Speaker 7 (11:14):
Okay, So I was week this man for a long
time and one time he was a thankgiver.
Speaker 6 (11:22):
He used to take everything back from me side, so
he gave me a dog in five years later, he's
still talking about that dog.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
Oh he wants the dog guy his homeboy.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
What's the dog name?
Speaker 3 (11:33):
Bandy Bandy? Okay? So wait, so what's the secret that
I flew.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
With his homeboy?
Speaker 3 (11:38):
He knows who?
Speaker 6 (11:39):
You know who it was?
Speaker 3 (11:40):
Okay, so you slip in the video. So you slipping
his homeboy? Heymous caller? How are you?
Speaker 1 (11:50):
I'm glad you're doing im good.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
You want to tell me in DDG a secret?
Speaker 6 (11:54):
Yeah? First thing I want to say this big shout
out to you. My name is a little Tom. But
a secret that I got to mind last year around Yeah,
it was around this time that leaked my phone number.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
You said, k hello tone.
Speaker 6 (12:05):
Family on all platforms. He leaked my phone number. I'm
like game getting cash and I have all his supporters
calling me. I'm like, dang, that's crazy, but it's a
blessing though, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
What's the blessing?
Speaker 6 (12:16):
When that leaked my phone number? He gave me a
little bit more exposure for my channel, my YouTube channel.
Good little tone.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Family, it's supposed to be anonymous. This is your fault, DDG. No,
this is your fault.
Speaker 6 (12:28):
Hey, big shout out to DG. I'll be watching here
seas with that really rocking the stream right now.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
Bro, we know, thank you for calling and we'll promote
you for this. Tell us a secret today was brought
to you by ddg's live stream. But thank you guys
for calling. And when we come back, we have your Yet,
let's do some ut about everybody that's on ddg's album.
We'll talk about Queen Naja, We'll talk about Shanciya, We'll
(12:53):
talk about people who pulled up to the stream. Brittany
Runner and Kevin Gates will give you all of those
stories when we come back. This way up, yo, she's about.
Speaker 5 (13:01):
To blow the lid ab off this, but let's get
it angelus feeling.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
That yet, Come and get your tea all right with Angela. Yeah,
I'm here with DDG and let's do some ut. You
ready for this yep. All right. So Paul Parrice on
his show The Truth After Dark was talking about marriage,
and here is his critique of marriage. Here's what he said.
Speaker 8 (13:24):
Marriage is for old people and poor people like my
mom's and all them. They married on a meriat of
like we're gonna put our incomes together and have all
these kids. So you married for that, and now when
you get old, somebody that to beat all your side
to take care of. Outside of that, it's no advantage
to a man, like we gonna have to give up half?
Are this pay child support?
Speaker 3 (13:46):
That sound crazy? What do you think?
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Hey, man? Whatever, whatever you like, that's what you like.
I don't think.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
I don't think that's on marriage.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
I mean, I feel like everyone should eventually want to
get married. I feel like it's definitely something that you
should plan for it though.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
But why, like, what is that? Because he's saying there's
no benefit to a man when it comes to marriage.
First of all, that's also assuming that you have more
than her, Like you could also be with somebody that
is risking at all. You also could have a prenup
so you don't have to give up half. Because people
always act like marriage you got to give up half.
But you don't have to do that, you know.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Yeah, but who wants to I don't know if I
can say this on radio, but who wants to d
e alone? You know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (14:24):
You can say dialogue?
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Who wants to dialogue? You know? I feel like, you know.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
But you could also be together and not get married, right,
like be together forever.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
I feel like marriage is like a professional relationship, okay,
for like boyfriend, girlfriend is like college. It's like say
you're hooping. It's like college basketball.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
And JB and then THEBA.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
NBA is marriage, you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (14:50):
Okay, all right, so that's good. So that is makes
it something to aspire to unless you can get an
nil deal and then you don't never have to get
married because you can make enough money from that deal
to not have to go into anyway. He also talked
about women bringing peace into a man's life. He says,
there's no such thing as that, There's no such thing
as somebody living with you on a day to day
(15:12):
basis bringing peace. It's always going to be something. I
don't know that that's true. Sometimes, like if you really
really love somebody, even when you are not getting along,
it still feels good to have him there when you're
not getting along.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
Yeah, but that's toxic.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
I wonder if you're easy to get along with.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
I am. I think I'm not toxic at all. Maybe
a little bit.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
That's what types of people always say. Okay, now, Queen
Naja in the meantime, talked about waiting for a marriage
with Clarence and she was on Poor Minds, and recently
she talked about what her thoughts are on marriage.
Speaker 7 (15:47):
In the past, I put a lot of things about
marriage and my songs. I talked a lot about marriage
and interviews. So people just like she wants marriage, give
it to her young. But I had to sit back
and think, like, hold on, I still need some time
for myself because what should become a white that's a duty.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
I actually can wait. See she's on the album too,
by the way, that's a good one.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
Yeah, doing a thing more than to Night.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
Yes, indeed, we're gonna play that. Okay as well, we're
gonna play that too. Brittany Renner and Kevin Gates also
people are saying that they're married. I'm not sure what's
going on with the two of them. But Basketball Wive
Season twelve premieres tonight and they had the premiere party,
and Brittany Renner was on the red carpet with Kevin
Gates and here's what she said.
Speaker 9 (16:28):
His name echoes in every chamber of my heart. I'm
with the person that I quite literally dreamed of. To
be able to just wake up next to him and
spend time with him, even to have him here behind me.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
It's like so surreal.
Speaker 9 (16:38):
I'm like, yeah, he's just the most beautiful person inside
and now that I've ever met, and I'm just so thankful.
Speaker 6 (16:44):
That'll all bless me.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
What did you think when they pulled up together that
ended up going viral?
Speaker 1 (16:49):
I didn't know he's gonna pull up with her or
that was cool.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
And you knew it was her and everything when she
showed up, like yeah, okay, yeah, and.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
I've seen them together before, Like, but I know if
it was public or not. When they put up on My.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Life, okay, well that made it public regardless of whether
or not it was. And you know what's interesting, you
didn't know they were on basket They're She's gonna be
on Basketball Wives again in the season, so I'm assuming
that he's going to be on there. I'm not sure.
I guess we'll see, but that super trailer is out
right now too.
Speaker 8 (17:19):
Now.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
Sheincia also was live and she was talking about showing
her son less when it comes to the internet. Here's
what she said, You guys see, I.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Show him less, No, because I find out that the
internet is just nasty to kids.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
I don't think people.
Speaker 7 (17:33):
Really deserve to have too much insight on my personal life.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
So she's also on the album That's what. And they're
all in the news right now. So shout out to Shencia.
Listen and your baby Halo is so cute. I just
want to say that. But I can understand somebody being
hesitant about putting someone they loved so much on social media.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Yeah, well my son was first born, Like people was
trying to say, my son wasn't good looking, so baby cute. Yeah,
but no, everybody love them, you know. But yeah, people
is weird with kids, for sure.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
I'd be like, how can you talk about somebody's child?
That is so wild? But anyway, so I feel her
on that, especially because her son is also like a
little more grown, so I'm sure he can see and
acknowledge things that are happening, and that's not easy either. Yeah,
all right, well that is your yet when we come
back under the radar, these are the stories that are
flying under the radar, but you definitely need to know
(18:26):
about it. Let's have some fun with that. It's way
up this in the.
Speaker 5 (18:29):
News that relates to you. These stories are flying under
the radar.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
All right, way yup with Angela. Yeah, I'm here with DDG,
and it's time for under the radar, the stories that
are not in the headlines, but they're under the radar
right now. Donald Trump has ordered a one d tariff
on foreign movies. Now, I don't know how that tariff
would be imposed, you know, because it's not like it's
goods that are coming into the country that he could
put a tax on. But they said some services can
(18:55):
be subject to regulations and also tax incentives and all
of those things. Have you noticed, DDG, like prices going
up on things with these tariffs.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
It's crazy, especially like the snacks right right.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
You're like, not my snack.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
I remember how.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
That was a long I feel like that was a
while ago. You're like, I remember when I was growing
up hochs and fifty. But listen, I'm not gonna lie.
I I just did a full rehab on my house
and the toilet that I brought, I have an extra
one and it's like a it's more than a thousand
dollars more than what I pay for it a few
months ago. That's crazy, and that's because of the tariffs.
(19:35):
So you know, just paying attention to all of that
now as you're flying around to in Newark, they said
that airport is not safe for travelers. One air traffic
controller warned people, it's not safe. It's not a safe
situation right now for the flying public. So what they're
saying is that Newark has lost twenty percent of its
air controllers in recent weeks and the situation is so
(19:56):
dire that United Airlines, which is their hub, that they
were canceling thirty five round trip flights daily because they
want to make sure they protect their customers.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
Wow, so people can like crash in the air.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
Listen with those air traffic controllers. Have you noticed like
a lot more reports about planes and things like that,
So clearly we need this air traffic control. But there's
been all people that's getting getting laid off and divisions
getting rid of, so there's some cracks in the system.
The FAA, they're saying that after Trump was sworn in,
he cut a lot of those employees. And so you know,
(20:32):
it's scary times out there.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
You don't know what you're getting into when you get
on that plane either, and.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
You flying a lot right. I thought about that too,
because I was like, I read this story while I
was flying back. I was like, ooh, you flow no,
And you know what. Normally I fly into JFK LaGuardia
Newark is like it's a little further from me in
New Jersey. But I do sometimes fly out of there
when I have to. But they're telling people to avoid it,
all right, Well, that is you're under the radar. We
(20:57):
do have the way it mixed. At the top of
the hour plus, we're gonna be talking to DDG about
his album Blame, the Chat and everything else that he
has going on, which is so much so congratulations. I
have to keep on telling you that, thank you, just
congratulations on everything. You should be so proud. We're talking
a lot really on his stream about everything that's been
going on all right, his way up just like to talk.
Speaker 9 (21:17):
Like they Jean like they and Jeli.
Speaker 5 (21:19):
Jee man, she's spilling it all. This is yet way up.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
All right his way up with angela. Ye, I'm here
with DDG guest hosting today. Were on the blogs because
of you. I go, all right, well let's get into
this yet. Fat Joe and Data Kiss are going to
be launching a podcast together. It's called Joe and Jada
and it's going to be covering music, sports, and culture.
So shout out to them for that a podcast. Back
(21:47):
Jo with Data Kiss. If you did a podcast, who
would you do a podcast with? It would be your partner.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
No, I had a podcast recently. He was doing pretty
good and then it kind of just fell off through
me being too busy.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
Definitely, although I could see you doing the podcast on
the live stream and then putting it out as his
own separate episode.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
That's what I was gonna do. But yeah, I ain't
really too pressed about it. But if I was to
do a podcast, it'd be with my son.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
Okay, Really is.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
That kind of is that kind of stealing? Because you know,
two Chain's son is the same name as my son.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
Okay, okay, So and then he already has his podcast,
But I don't know if your son's ready for that.
I don't know if he could weigh in on the
topics yet, and I don't know if he'll be able
to research and do all the things that he'll need
to do.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
He only won, but you know maybe next year.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
All right, Well the met Gala is happening. Are you
here for the met Gala?
Speaker 1 (22:43):
Nope, I ain't get invited.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
Well you know who did get invited? Kay sat and
he said he wasn't gonna go. Here's what he said.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
I had an opportunity to go to the Met Galla chat,
but I didn't go because I'm not gonna lie. The
brand that wanted to host me I didn't really like.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
Well, I would still went, You would have still went,
no matter what. I feel like, I'm not gonna lie.
I feel like DDG is on his way to being
at the Met Gala. Because you are riskier with your
fashion style than most Yeah, I mean, and that's part
of but that is part of what makes you in
that world of fashion, when you'll do things that other
people won't do and take a chance.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
I think it's I think it's I think Met Gala
is just something that if you get invited, you should
just go. You know, It's just like a stamp, even
if you only go once. You know, what I mean.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
People are saying they think it was Balenciaga that invited him.
That's what they think. I don't know that it's true,
but you know how people weigh in on it, so
they think Valenciaga and that's what he turned down.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
M I mean, I rock.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
So you don't want to go like I'm available.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
You don't want to go in and call me?
Speaker 3 (23:56):
All right? And Jez is being threatened with jail time
for allegedly viol leading his divorce settlement terms with Genie Myi.
According to in Touch Weekly, the judge denied his attempt
to recover twenty thousand dollars in legal fees and warn
their future failure to comply with the court's order may
result in sanctions, which could be in the form of incarceration.
This has been quite an unexpected and like long and
(24:19):
drawn out divorce. And I just hate to see the
two of them at oz because they have a beautiful
daughter and at the end of the day, like I'm
you know, if you could just get along for the
sake of that, but it feels like the two of
them are just it went from love to you know
what they say, no, no love without hate. It felt
like it went from love to like, dang, what happened?
(24:40):
And shout out to He's like, I'm not saying nothing wrong,
and shout out to Maria. Mariah the Scientist. Burning Blue
is her highest charting album ever, the lead single Burning Blue,
So shout out to her for that, all right, And
she's actually having a good time with her man too.
We haven't all right. You know the song Burning Blue.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
I'm a player in it. I've been hearing it on
TikTok a lot.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
All right, Well here it is fosh whatever you want
to say, sign.
Speaker 7 (25:13):
Says long guys truth.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
So that's the number two songs on Apple Music's us Churst,
and that is Mariah's. Uh, that's the highest charting song
from a female artist in twenty twenty five on the platform.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
Shout up to her. You know that's my label mate.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
Oh it is. I actually really really like Mariah the
Scientist too. So and she stood by her man and
he came home and we did not expect, you know,
nobody knew what was going to happen. That was like
the longest trial in Atlanta. You happy with your label? Yeah,
you should be here.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
We're having a ball thing.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
People always like try to try to talk down on labels,
but you having a ball with yours my label.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
You know, my situation might be a little different than
other peoples. I feel like they more open minded since
you know, I've come from a whole different platforms.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
And you've been on that label for a while.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Yeah a little bit.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
Yeah, how long has it been?
Speaker 1 (26:10):
About six six?
Speaker 3 (26:12):
Because when I first met you, it was a label
pitching you like to be on lip service. We got
to flash back to that interview. All right, Well DDG
is here, so when you come back, you get to
ask us any question. We're going to help you out.
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. When we
come back, it is ask Ye and DDG. That's eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifty with.
Speaker 5 (26:30):
It's relationship for career advice, Angela's dropping facts.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
You should you should know.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
This is ask gee.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
What's up? Its way up at Angela Yee And as
y'all know, DDG was here guest hosting all decks. Well
he's still here guests hosting today, but it's time for
ask ye and Ask DDG. Eight hundred two nine two
fifty one fifty. We have Kaylin on the line, Kayla,
you have a question for me and DDG.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
Yes, where did you see yourself in Peniere?
Speaker 3 (26:57):
Oh? Okay, I mean he could do five year.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Five years, I'll probably be on tour, selling out stadiums period,
probably be getting my back rub by some fine you know,
I don't know which what they look like, but something fine, slim, thick,
something like that. I don't know, you know, ten.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
I dnt What about ten years from now? Where you
see yourself ten years?
Speaker 1 (27:24):
I think i'd be more chilled. I definitely probably won't
be on the internet. I'll probably be just sitting back
doing my music, being a dad.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
I wonder if you have more kids about ten years
so now you probably will, I think two more.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
I don't know if I'm okay. I want more kids really.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
But you're still young, like you know, you got time. Yeah,
and then you got to have a little girl at
some point.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
I do want a daughter at some point, but I'm
definitely not forcing it.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
Okay. See he's torn. At first he didn't want no kids,
but then he want a daughter at some point. But
we're talking about ten years from now. Nothing ever happens
has to be plan it. But thank you guys, thank
you ladies for calling.
Speaker 6 (28:00):
I just want to thank you guys on your album
d d G fie.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
What's your favorite song Man on a Mission? Man on
a Mission that's streaming well too? All right, well, thank
you guys for calling.
Speaker 6 (28:13):
Shout out to Kate Twin.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
I'm twin too, so you're represent your twins. They really
at homes just I love that. Alright, Chase Muller, what's up?
Speaker 1 (28:25):
Hey?
Speaker 6 (28:25):
What's going on this? James Collins Street?
Speaker 3 (28:28):
Okay, what's your question?
Speaker 6 (28:30):
I want to know if you're available this weekend? Oh,
I want to take think on the Maya Day.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
Oh yeah, today's sile to my We forgot about that somebody.
Speaker 8 (28:39):
Yeah yeah, I want I want to I want to
have something had fun like.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
You know, I appreciate it. I got a man, but
you know you got to hear a little bit of
talk about him. I took out him all the time.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
Okay, well look check this out, man, I got a
song called thank you all time.
Speaker 3 (29:03):
Hours. See if we would have went out if it
wanted to get me to play your music. And then it's.
Speaker 6 (29:08):
The man here in Atlantailroad. You said if you had
a man. I just wanted to Chase the subject that
I'm losing.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
I just wanted to keep the respect.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
I appreciate that. Thank you for being respectful and changing
the subject for real. All right, I appreciate it. I
like everybody in the check all right, Well, you know what,
when we come back, let's talk to DDG. Let's talk
about the new album that's doing amazing. Everybody's calling up
talking about how much they love it. Not just the
people calling, but I think the critics, and that's always important.
(29:41):
Well I don't know how important it is, but it's nice.
It's nice when the critics are like, this is amazing.
So we'll talk about it when we come back. It's
way up.
Speaker 7 (29:48):
Everybody listen, Yeah, ye what you're all being waiting for.
Speaker 5 (29:54):
You tapped in the way up with Angela?
Speaker 3 (29:56):
Ye, what's up? His way up with Angela? Yee, And
as y'all know, DDG has been A's hosting today, which
I appreciate because I know you're super busy. We also
got a chance to stream live. I saw we made
it onto social media because of the people trolling you
for Kendrick Lamar. I saw people already posting that, Yeah,
it's everywhere, It's everywhere. Everything you do is everywhere? How
(30:16):
is that for you?
Speaker 1 (30:17):
It's good? You know, this good business in my line
of work, you know, entertainment. Okay, they ain't. I mean
the money getting low now.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
I was asking you this off the air about the
album the new album blamed the Chat. I see a
lot of positive responses from it, and it feels very
cohesive and well put together. Do you think you owe
that to just streaming live and letting people really be
part of the process.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
Yeah, I think I cracked the cold. This might be
the method. I use a food as an analogy, right,
Like if you go to Burger King, right, you going
there for a burger and they be like, no, we're
gonna give you this pizza. If that's not the best
pizza in the world, you ain't never coming back to
Burger King again.
Speaker 6 (30:56):
Right.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
But if you go to Burger King, they giving you
the exact burger you ask for the right amount of pickles, everything,
You're gonna be satisfied. You're gonna always come back. You
know what I'm saying. Get how the analogy makes sense?
Speaker 3 (31:08):
No, I understand what you're saying. So you're giving people
exactly what they what they want. But you know, It's
interesting too, because when you're in the process of making
a song, it's gonna sound way different than when it's done. Yeah,
and that's hard for people to also have that type
of vision, to be able to understand what the finished
product is going to be.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
Like, yeah, the highest performance song on the album, it's
called Speed and yeah, the people watching they didn't. They
told me, no, don't do that song, it's not the one. No, bro,
do this and do this, And then when I finished it,
they're like, oh my god, this is the one.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
You know, what I want to say. What I see
the ladies like is what I prefer.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Yeah, yeah, they do.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
And that definitely feels like a song that was purposely
for the ladies. And that's just you on there.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
I can hold my own wait for show. But you know,
with the hit of than just being on live having
artists pulled through, it kind of adds to the aesthetic
for the live stream, right, you know. And I ain't
I'm not finna not put out no great features.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
Well listen, so let's talk about the song with BA
because that actually went viral because she was You guys
are talking about how you weren't supposed to like you
guys had did this song. They were asking when is
this song gonna come out? And they said your ex
didn't want you to do the song with her or
something like that.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
That was an old song. And I was like, yeah,
that was a long time, but.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
What happened with that? And why why didn't she want
you to put that out?
Speaker 1 (32:25):
It wasn't more so like an ex didn't want me
to put it out. It was more so like I
didn't want to put it out because me and Beal
was like flirting on the song. But we made the
song like when I wasn't in a relationship.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
See that's interesting because if you're flirting on a song
at the same time, but it's disrespectful, you think in
a way.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
I mean, we was talking about just extra stuff, you know, like.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
What like what you know?
Speaker 1 (32:52):
It was just like a you know, like it was
just like a little sexual.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
All right, Well, you know, but let's play something off
the album. All right, let's play Pink Dreads right now.
You want to introduce it.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Yes, this song is made by two very established content creators,
myself and black Boy Max. We made it online. It's
the first song I made online.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
All right, Well, let's do it. Right now. Here's pink dress.
When we come back. We got more with DDG. It's
way up.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
Yeah's turn me up here, we go up there.
Speaker 5 (33:19):
This is way up with Angela ye.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
What's up? Its way up with Angela yee. And I'm
here with DDG. We're talking about his album Blame the
chat that's out right now. How hard is it to
be in a relationship if you're on stream all the time, though,
because that has to feel like Dan, can we like
have some us time?
Speaker 6 (33:35):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (33:35):
I don't think it's really possible unless like the girl
like really streaming as well. I always fall for girls
that do the same thing as me. If I was
to date somebody which I probably won't get in another relationship,
tell him like fifty three.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
He lying, but he a relationship type of guy.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
If I was, it'd have to be like somebody that
that do the same thing as me, just because you know,
I don't feel like dealing with that. Let's watch this
movie and this and that. You know what I mean?
If I want to work, I want to work, you
feel me?
Speaker 6 (34:05):
Now?
Speaker 3 (34:05):
Look you have offset on the album do what you want?
I heard that song was originally called Toxic Twins No No,
I'm kidding, but people would loving people love that song too. Now,
I told you when you came in here, we talked
about something that you said on your stream. You said
you were forced to live paycheck to paycheck because you
(34:26):
have to work constantly to keep up with your expenses.
You're like, I got to clear that up because I
was like, Okay, you know, I know you're making a
lot of money, but also investing is important, so can
we talk about that for a second.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
I invest a lot of money into my content, So
when I said that, I was definitely exaggerating. I'm nowhere
near broke right, making more money than I ever made.
But the reason why I'm making so much money is
because I'm investing a lot of my money. So you know,
I feel like the more you spend on yourself, the
more you get back.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
Somebody called up here earlier and they was like, they
wanted to ask you about how to be successful at streaming.
But part of that is investing. And it's not like
people think that you could just jump into this and
they don't understand the finances that come behind it too.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
Yeah, it's really expensive.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
His real voice.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
I talk like that when I get comfortable I'm just
feeling comfortable, but it's super expressive, you know, like getting
into streaming, you know, you gotta pay for a bunch
of different services and stuff. So I'll just be trying
to tell people, like, if you want to get in
this game, you're gonna have to spind you know. It's
a lot of competition.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
Your fans and people who watch the stream is like
your family too. You kind of let them in on
every aspect of your life, but you think that there
are certain things that you're like, okay, now moving forward,
as I grow and mature, maybe I don't want to
let them into everything.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Yeah. I try to keep my personal life, like things
like involving like my son as separate as possible because
he might pop in on my stream. A lot of
people think, like I filmed my son twenty four to seven,
But like when he pop in on and I'm streaming,
he just goes so viral every time, right, It's like,
I don't he be on there for maybe and.
Speaker 3 (36:00):
Then that's the part that everybody sees. It's on the
whole time.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Yeah, people be like he always got his son on
his stream. He'll pop in and then like my mom
will help with him while I finish my stream You
know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Listen, and when you're fifty three years old a relationship,
you think you'll still be streaming in your next relationship.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Nah, I think the streaming stuff i'd probably be done
mid thirties. I think mid thirties is kind of crazy
to be streaming. I mean it's some people do.
Speaker 3 (36:28):
It's gonna be something different happening by then, though, because
things are happening so fast, Like if you look at
everything that's happening with AI, are those things you think
about as far as incorporating into what you do because
everybody's like, you got to pay attention to that.
Speaker 9 (36:39):
Now.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
I think the whole world gonna be different. I think
we're gonna start dating robots, all types of things around
that time.
Speaker 3 (36:46):
So maybe your next relationship will be with a robot
that might be smooth. I think that might be actually
what you need.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
You know what I'm saying. You seen that movie with
Megan Fox in it?
Speaker 3 (36:55):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (36:55):
I did, Yeah, one of them type robots.
Speaker 3 (36:57):
All right, Well DDG blame The chat is out right now, guys.
Make sure it's been getting really positive responses, really great numbers.
Keep it streaming honestly, Like people always talk about you
being one of the first people that's an artist but
also has been in this world of streaming. You were
super early on it. Just shout out to you and
congratulations on having a solid, solid project.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Thank you when we.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
Come back, man, Thank you again to DDG for hosting.
Of course, this is your show. So you have the
last word.
Speaker 5 (37:24):
Take up the phone tapping to get your voice heard.
What the word is the last word on Way Up
with Angela Yee?
Speaker 3 (37:32):
What's up? Its Way Up with Angela Yee and DDG.
Thank you so much for guests hosting with me today.
I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
Of course I had a lot of fun. You did,
I did.
Speaker 3 (37:41):
This is your fun like vibes.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
Yeah, you know, I went to school to be like
a radio host.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
You're a valid you with a valedictorian too. Well, never
forget that. I think it's great to be smart, because
sometimes people act like going to school being valid, like
they act like that's that's dope.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
I was the best student ever though, Like I had
all the girls.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
It's the best to the end. I had all the girls.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
Yeah, man, I had the best high school career.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
You can have a high school career, not just not
just going to school. So you went to school to
do radio.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
I went to college and my major wasn't broadcasting. So
you know, if I didn't get into what I'm doing now,
I'll probably be on it.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
It kind of is like broadcasting, know what you do
in a way.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 3 (38:22):
Yeah, because I'm sure some of those skills from going
to college for broadcasting translated well to that.
Speaker 1 (38:28):
Yeah, it did for sure.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
And then with technology, you gotta always, I think, go
with the times, and you saw where everything was headed in.
You were super early on it and everybody's trying to
get into it now.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
It ain't too late, but it's gonna be difficult. It's
gonna be a lot of artists that's gonna have to
deal with that. Uh you copying DDG phase. But you
know you gotta get through it.
Speaker 3 (38:48):
I know that's right. All right. Well, congratulations again on
the album, and you know, blame the chat if you
love it, blame the chat. If you don't, blame the chat,
it is what it is. But congratulate relations and of
course this is your show, so you have the last word.
Speaker 4 (39:04):
Hey, Angela, I was calling to tell a secret I've
been in a relationship with a i'll say pop star
for going on four years and he's a scammer and
nobody will believe this. Hopefully, one day somebody will stop
his arrogant as.
Speaker 6 (39:23):
This is Trent from Atlanta. I've been watching DG for
a minute now. I just wanted to congratulate my man
on his uncle drop his album release.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
There is no skips.
Speaker 6 (39:36):
I've been listening to DG since twenty sixteen, but congratulations
with DG on everything that you're doing.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
Good stuff.
Speaker 5 (39:42):
Keep it up, brother Matt, going way out or turn
out with Anela Yee
