has invested five hundred thousand dollars into five different Chicago
high schools. You know, he recently was on way up
at Angela Gue and talking about the education system, what
his experience was like. He has always been really involved

(02:07):

somebody who still lives there, somebody.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Who's still very active.

Speaker 2 (02:11):

Speaker 1 (02:13):
So Social Works, which.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Was founded by him, is the name of the nonprofit
that he has and that is a fresh investment he
did this August to those schools. It's part of his
new Chance Fund. That's a grant program that runs with
CPS and the Children First Fund, And you know we
need that right now when it comes to education and
what's happening to our education system. So love to see
it all right now, who do you guys want to

(02:36):
spread some love to?

Speaker 1 (02:37):

Ask him why he's single?

Speaker 6 (03:13):

Speaker 10 (03:15):
Why are you single?

Speaker 6 (03:16):
I haven't found somebody that wanted to love me the
way I needed to be loved. Baby, Okay, maybe I'm

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Wow, we're just throwing the love word around that easy,
just that easy.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Well that was shine of Light eight hundred two ninety

And when we come back, yet time more with these
young thug leak calls and thank god, may No's here.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
I want to get your opinion on this. It's way up,
they say.

young Doug, all of these phone calls have been leaking.
Now we all know they record these conversations in jail. Now,
man know you said though this is unheard of.

Speaker 11 (04:35):
It is unheard of, these leakage of of like personal
opinions and conversations. When you have a conversation, they say,
you're not supposed to be talking over the phone, but
that's the criminal stuff. Like I thought that though they
regret everything, but you never you never seen them come out.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
No, I've never seen so embarrassed. Don't that's not cool yet.

Speaker 6 (04:55):
They can maybe right, it's not cool.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
It's great content for let us not be a lesson
for anybody in jail. Oh, don't have listen, but don't
talk about stuff when you're jail that you don't ever
want other.

Speaker 6 (05:08):
People that that's that's not realistic.

Speaker 11 (05:10):
You having regular, just human conversation about how you feel
and what your opinion is on certain things.

Speaker 6 (05:16):
Those are conversations that we all have every day.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
But we but we're also not in jail, and we also.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
There's nobody what if he was having like sex conversations like.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
That comes out?

Speaker 6 (05:29):
Who is? Who is the problem?

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Anyway?

Speaker 3 (05:32):
This latest one is young Thug talking about little Dirk
and being offended that Dirk is not doing this song.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Listen to this dirt.

Speaker 12 (05:41):
I need a lot of players for the boy. But
I don't know. He has a little different with you songs.
He's just taking the time, you know, four five days
they later, just like the little he sent a song
from a laid thing when it's trying to clip the song,
now he clip is on, then you get on. This
is that dud?

Speaker 8 (05:59):
Man that kept m I mean it's.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Not is it not awesol?

Speaker 6 (06:04):
But no, he's talking about how he felt.

Speaker 13 (06:06):
Yeah, yeah, it's not. It's just it's unfortunately it's on private.
I tell you, I feel so bad about that.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
And then we see someone from O t F like
that N word on their phones. Got's been like a
straight bat. I'll never chance the nword that put on
makeup and address and young thug said, all y'all new
junkies and O t F just know I'm the one
sing Brian still to help him on my dime.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
So okay, no, this is your guy too, right yea, but.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Let's hope he ain't say nothing about you.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
That was great.

Speaker 6 (06:39):
That was great.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
We were gonna call made on FaceTime.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Way be crying, I'm not gotta make it.

Speaker 6 (06:47):
YEA been talking about.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
All right.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
Now let's talk about somebody else. Denzel Washington. I guess
his name is really Denzel who knew? So that means
all of y'all name Denzel Curry, everybody, your name is denzil.
So here is what Denzel Washington had to say on
Jimmy Kimmel about his name being pronounced differently than what
it's supposed to be.

Speaker 14 (07:09):
There's a lot of Denzel's there, weren't that many before
your first Oscar.

Speaker 6 (07:13):
There was zero in nineteen eighty seven.

Speaker 15 (07:15):
And this is how you know they named themselves after
me because my name's not pronounced Denzel. My name is
pronounced Denzel. I'm Denzel Junior. My mother would say Denzel
and we both show up. So she said, from now on,
your Denzel.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
I like Denzel better.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
It makes more sense.

Speaker 6 (07:34):
I feel like you're used though. Yeah you think you
made that up?

Speaker 1 (07:38):
Yeah, I think he made it up. I think his
name is Denzel.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
But all right, well that is your Yet when we
come back, we have about last night where we discussed
what we did last night. If you was outside, I
know Mano's benos side, Jasmine Brand, I saw you briefly.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
I don't know what you did after work.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
But anyway, let's get into some go Diger here, some
yay and Jamie Fox's way up.

Speaker 16 (07:57):
Who So about last night?

Speaker 3 (08:04):
I went down all right, his way up at Angela. Yeah,
and Jasmine Brand is here on my own brand Mayo's here.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
And now I told you I felt like we were
going to have a surprise pop through visit. But Rawlings
is here.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
I don't trust you whenever surprised.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
I know you've been running around. You got sneakers around
your nest. Literally literally, we're doing about last night, and
I want to hear from your words what happened and
why do you have these sneakers?

Speaker 17 (08:33):
We come back right now, I want to hear. Well,
you know, y'all know that I was supposed to go
to the league years ago.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
What was it NBA? Right?

Speaker 2 (08:43):
I follow you, follow you?

Speaker 5 (08:44):
That don't really matter, all right, okay five eight? Your
looks cattle heart must have just left the building.

Speaker 17 (08:50):
Okay, I was supposed to going to leave, but that
that career path got derailed.

Speaker 16 (08:55):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 17 (08:55):
I fell in love with comedy, but always still felt
like I need to get back on the court. So
the other day there's an organization, a pretty pretty powerful uh.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Uh three keys Man, three keys Management.

Speaker 17 (09:09):
It's a sports Maine and they did something that's never
been done. They built a basketball court in Times Square, Right,
So I went up there. Now, the only reason I
was there because I was going to see you. I said,
I got to see you, right, you said, come to
the basketball court, and I was like, oh, they don't
want to see me out here. So I pull up.
Everybody's like, oh man, are you gonna play today? Are
you gonna play all? You're gonna get in the game? Ouse,

(09:31):
I'm not here for that, you know. They was like please, please,
please please.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
I wanted to do a one on one and they
were like, we need volunteers, and I was like, right here,
right here.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
She volunteered me, right, So of course I know he
was put on because I.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Did.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Did you bring all first off business?

Speaker 17 (09:53):
Let us tell a story what I want to tell?
All right? I know you on the board of directors.
I know you bought directors on a lot of boards
of directors, right, So you know I didn't want to
do it. I didn't want to embarrass him, embarrassing body.
But they challenged me to a three point shootoff which
went into sudden death overtime.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
It was a triple triple overtime.

Speaker 6 (10:16):
He was playing on one on one game again.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
Greg, who is part of part of Three Keys Management,
and you know.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
Living I wasn't trying to I was just minding my business.

Speaker 6 (10:32):
Done.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
It started off shaky, though, Donald, you were missing everything.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
But that's the game. Now, let me explain that's how
you win. You let people this is what you do
when you be on board a director meeting. Just be
insulting like the Devil's advocates to get to it so
people can participate in this conversation. You know, when Donelle
did win in Triple Sudden Death Overtime Swish, they called
me switch, call him switch, Rolling times square.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
So it's people from all around the world.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Yeah, in the biggest stage in the world.

Speaker 17 (11:03):
The right stage world, And it was chicks out there
from Poland and would have like, it's this that guy
he is me for seeing?

Speaker 1 (11:09):
Is that a Polish accident? But anyway, it's.

Speaker 5 (11:12):
An English second language.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Grant was very very upset that he lost, and I
want to know.

Speaker 17 (11:18):
He got whooped. I told him my history. Oh my god,
I told him what I did to.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
We're gonna talk about that when we come back, all right,
But I want to hear from you guys. Have you
ever beat somebody in a competition? And they got so
mad that they wanted to fight, that they wanted to
fight eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty call
us up. Let us know if you ever beat somebody
in a competition. They were a sore loser and tried
to fight you and it got real. Eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Fifty's way up with Angela. Let's go. You are a
media a man, right, you.

Speaker 9 (11:47):

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Then they breakap so everybody knows what we're talking about.
Donell recently won a one on one basketball game in
Times Square, the biggest court in the.

Speaker 17 (12:11):
World, first time, first community ever had three threes in
a row.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
From Three Keys Management put this together.

Speaker 5 (12:17):
No, it's not the management. Is that three Keys? It's
three threes?

Speaker 6 (12:20):
Now it over and.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
Actually being your guy, Greg and Greg is one of
the founders of Three Keys Management. I for sure if
I had to bet money, I would And I do
want to say, there is footage available out there.

Speaker 5 (12:35):
It's footage nobody see. This is not the first time
I ever.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
Did what I'm saying before.

Speaker 17 (12:40):
Before this, this was some years ago, I was in
a celebrity basketball game. But taking a celebrity basketball game,
I was on the team. They already know what I'm working.
I was about to get drafted that year so the NBA,
and then I hurt my kneed and I played overseas
for five years. So Kevin Durant is on the other team.
Kevin Durant gets the rebound. He's coming up court. I'm

(13:00):
checking them, you know what I'm saying. I'm checking.

Speaker 16 (13:02):
He come up.

Speaker 17 (13:02):
He tried to drip the ball between my legs and
over my head, stole the ball, ripped them everybody like a.

Speaker 16 (13:11):
Right.

Speaker 17 (13:11):
And then he coming behind me because you know I'm
about to go play overseas. He's trying to get his revenge.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
I pulled that jumps.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
You know, we gotta we're gonna, We're gonna. We're gonna
post the footage with this. In the meantime, I pulls up.
Do you want to ask people who are listening, have you.

Speaker 5 (13:27):
Ever they don't want me to be great?

Speaker 3 (13:29):
Have you ever beat somebody so bad that they wanted
to fight you? Because that's what happened when Donna was
playing against Greg. Now, David, what's up doing?

Speaker 1 (13:39):
I'm good? Have you ever beat somebody so bad that
they wanted to fight?

Speaker 3 (13:43):
Or have you ever wanted to fight somebody for beating
you and something so bad.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Happy birthday?

Speaker 6 (13:49):
Ain't nobody?

Speaker 5 (13:50):
Ain't nobody asked you about no birthday?

Speaker 10 (13:51):
Man topic?

Speaker 5 (13:53):
Damn like you never had a birthday before?

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Oh my god?

Speaker 6 (13:58):
Yeah you ready?

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (14:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 18 (14:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (14:04):
So we were at.

Speaker 8 (14:06):
College, you know.

Speaker 18 (14:08):
My boat back in the day. You know, so, uh,
I would killing I would kill people. We both played,
me and my football players our friends. So I beat
him so bad. Every time I scored it, I would
say boom boom boom. So he got up and like
threw a chair across the room, walk.

Speaker 6 (14:24):
The ball boom boom.

Speaker 10 (14:27):
Yeah, And I'm like, I'm like, bro, we could have
boom boom.

Speaker 6 (14:30):
And straight out chair. That's enough boom boom. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
Did it make you stop saying boom boom and knock
you out?

Speaker 12 (14:37):
Not that?

Speaker 6 (14:37):
But he ain't touch me.

Speaker 10 (14:40):
I want gold gloss too, So he wasn't playing boom boom.

Speaker 5 (14:43):

Speaker 10 (15:12):
I'm sixty years old, right, this is back in eighty three.

Speaker 6 (15:15):
Another year. Yeah, I played football.

Speaker 10 (15:21):
Russell and I was on a track team at Nick
Taylor High School.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Okay, we had a duum beat with more.

Speaker 10 (15:27):
High schools and there's this other shot put them all right.
Football season two years straight, we smashed them. I played
against him, wrestling season, I pitched this track season. We
threw shot foot and I brew him all as usual,
and then the finish and I fished.

Speaker 9 (15:46):
He got mad at me and said, you can't beat
me fighting. Oh but I grew up in the project
and everything.

Speaker 6 (15:52):
You know, I was fighting all my lights. Right after
the meeting is over, we're walking to go to the
locker room.

Speaker 9 (15:58):
So he put the shot fort at me. I do it.

Speaker 6 (16:00):

and then a lot on Nikki don't get along.

Speaker 6 (19:10):
You can help answer your question. It can help, definitely
always help.

Speaker 12 (19:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (19:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
As a matter of fact, Joey Batts is going to
be joining us later today, and those disc records back
and forth did a lot of traction for him.

Speaker 17 (19:20):
Do you ever think that this back the two camps
really talk to each other about how orchestrated.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
Yeah, he knows all right now. Carti b in the meantime,
is saying that she did an interview with Billboard. She's
on the cover of Billboard, by the way, and she
talked about turning down the Super Bowl halftime show.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
Listened to her explanation, one year I got.

Speaker 16 (19:41):
Asked to do the Super Bowl.

Speaker 19 (19:43):
I'm not sure if it was twenty nineteen eighteen, and
I deny, but I'm glad. I feel like if I
get to do it, I feel like I'm gon have
more hits and i feel like I'm going to be
more experienced.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Okay, that's fair.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Yeah, because she's literally had one hour album.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
It was a classic album, but it's only been one
so I understand that I'm her thinking on that now.
She also is talking about her next album that's coming
out am I the Drama on September nineteenth, And here's
what she had to say about what being on the album.
People were saying, she's trying to like automatically, have you
know a number one album by including a song that's
already been out and that's one of Dynall's favorite songs.

Speaker 6 (20:21):
Yes, it was, It really is.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
I'm not even kidding. And here's what she had to say.

Speaker 19 (20:27):
Because my fans ask really, people are crying about it,
like always for numbers and stuff like that. Those two
records are not going to count for the first week numbers,
which everybody cares about.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
Okay, so I didn't know that. I thought it did count,
but she's saying it doesn't.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
Yeah, Maino says it does count.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
Okay, all right, Well that's but she's just.

Speaker 6 (20:44):
Putting on it.

Speaker 5 (20:44):
It's not a remix or anything. It's just the same song.

Speaker 12 (20:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
Yeah, I remember Dona always mops the floor.

Speaker 17 (20:49):
He said, you know, I had a funny joke down
he does a messing around with Snoop that was popping out.

Speaker 5 (20:54):
Did that years ago, and it was it was all
about that song.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
All right.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
Now when we come back, we have under the radar.
These are the stories may not see in the headlines,
but you need to know about it. Anybody concerned about
hair loss. We have a drink that could really impact
why you look.

Speaker 5 (21:08):
Right in my eyes when you stepped up. I have
no concerns about it.

Speaker 6 (21:12):
It is what it is. You looked at my guy.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
It's way up.

Speaker 12 (21:20):
News.

Speaker 4 (21:20):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
All right, this way you put Angela yee, I'm here,
Jasmine brand is here on my own brand.

Speaker 17 (21:31):
Yeah, it's really under the radars. What I did on
that basketball court, Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
All right.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
And one of the stories is about Macha and hair loss.
You know, Macha has been having a time. You know,
I have a coffee shop and we cannot keep Macha
in everyone. Everybody's ordering Macha nowadays. But apparently they're saying
that there's an ingredient in Macha that really helps with
your hair health. And so Macha has a calming edge
that you know, stress cortisol is behind hair loss.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
So apparently Matcha actually helps you with your hair.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
So this might be something that people are doing and
they're saying Matcha shouldn't be seen as a magic cure,
but it may be a helpful addition to a hair
wellness routine.

Speaker 5 (22:14):
I don't really care about how did you use it?

Speaker 8 (22:16):
What do.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
I get it?

Speaker 1 (22:23):
I've never had it before today.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Okay, I've never had mucha all.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
Right, now, Tucker Carlson is saying that he believes that
Pete Buda Judge is not gay, and he's been calling
him the fake gay guy.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
That's funny to you.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
The fake gay guy is hilarious now here.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
He is on his podcast saying that People to Judge
is not actually gay and he has proof.

Speaker 16 (22:46):
I don't know people to judge the fake gay guy.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
I have a friend who thinks he's a fake gay.

Speaker 16 (22:52):
My gay producers always like he's not gay. He was
with a girl like twenty minutes ago, and like he
wants to be the Democratic nominee.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
It's like time for a Hey, guys, he's playing the
long game.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
I didn't know he was gay either. What he didn't
give me gay he gave me.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
I don't know he has a husband.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
I didn't know that.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
But now he said he's always wanted to interview him
and people just has declined. But he said, if he
gets the chance, he has questions already and including some
very specific questions about gay sex to see if he
can answer. My god, please, I was just showing you

(23:33):
somebody who's definitely Oh, Angela just ruined my morning. Okay, sorry,
but anyway, that is your under the radar stories. And yes,
when we come back later on, Joey Badass is going
to be joining us. His album Lonely at the Top
is out right now. We also have the way Up
mix at the top of the hour.

Speaker 5 (23:49):
For you to Badass. That's a crazy transition, Badass.

Speaker 3 (23:54):
It's way up this way up, all right. It's way
up at Angela. Yee, I'm here, Jasmin brand is here.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
I'm not just rent.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
I'm my own brands in the building. I know, all right,
And let's get into this et. So apparently James Harden's
restaurant that's in Houston, it's called thirteen has been locked
and closed because of a two point two million dollar
delinquent rent and other amounts due to the least that's
pera notice that's posted on a door.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
That's a lot of money, yes, a lot of back rent.

Speaker 3 (24:26):
They said the locks of the premises have been changed.
The tenant shall be excluded there from due to non
payment of rent. A new key can be provided if
the deliberate rent is paid. I do want to say though,
a lot of times people don't own restaurants by themselves.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
Right right, there's somebody that's in charge.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
I'm sure he's not doing his day today, right of
you know somebody else that's in charge has not been
paying the rent for whatever reason.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
But that is one thing that you have to do.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
I know people pay rent late all the time because
it's a tough business. And when you got to pay
a whole entire staff, sometimes the rent is the last
thing and you got to pay for like goods you're
serving and pay vendors. Sometimes the rent ends up being
the last thing. But you can't get that behind on
the rent all right. Now, there's a lot of people
reacting to Drewski's viral skit.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
Where he is dressed up and head to toe white makeup.

Speaker 3 (25:15):
He's portraying a stereotypical proud American tailgating at a NASCAR track.
That's the whole theme of it. I thought this is
really funny. He really looked like a white man. Here's
part of it.

Speaker 6 (25:32):
Hey, you lost both sure about that found something safe.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
He is really really what he's so funny.

Speaker 6 (25:45):
I want to see it.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Oh yeah, you got to see it.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
We're trying to see it.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
I'm gonna show it to you.

Speaker 3 (25:51):
It's so creative. What I did see is now white
people are like, guess we can start doing black face now.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Okay, that is their response.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
You have done it.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
Before many a time and still have your jobs and
still keep on going. Not to other people saying this
is the most impressive white face I've ever seen. An
he has a mullet and everything.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Oh wow, the mullet is funny.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
And I was just wondering if people really knew that
he was a black man, yeah, disguising, if they were
in on the joke or not. There was one young
black man who he was talking to on the side
of the road, and you know, I feel like he
had to be in on it.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
Listen to this.

Speaker 6 (26:30):
Oh you don't have it?

Speaker 3 (26:31):
Okay, sorry sorry, but anyway, Yes, so that's what happened,
and so we'll see what what people are going to
have to say. But of course, I think he had
to know that this is going to be something that
was going to be polarizing and that people were going
to have to.

Speaker 2 (26:45):
That's the point. And it's funny too.

Speaker 3 (26:47):
He has a white woman sitting on his lap, He's like, uh,
smoking a cigarettes.

Speaker 2 (26:53):
Tattoos on his arms just like a white man he does.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
And he's playing Born in the USA as you all
right now. Mark Cuban is defending Steve Bamber.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
I know you saw these allegations that they were paying
Kawhi Leonard from a whole different company that the owner
had while trying to circumvent the NBA salary cap. Well,
Mark Cuban said on on on Team Bamber as much
as I would say circumvented the salary cap first, Steve,
isn't that dumb if he did try to feed Kawhi
money knowing what was at stake for him personally and
his team. Do you think he would let the company

(27:26):
go bankrupt knowing all creditors would so, Yes, And they
are responding and saying there's nothing unusual or untoward about
team spongors doing endorsement deals with players on the same team. Okay,
so I kind of felt like this is just didn't
feel illegal. It just felt like, we want to keep
this guy here, We'll give him this endorsement.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Yeah, we're trying to make it work.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
All right, Well that is.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
Your yet when we come back, we have asked Yee
eight hundred two nine two fifty one to fifty any
question you have. The whole team is here to help,
including the award winning advice giving new Maino eight hundred
two fifty one fifty anything you want to ask us?

Speaker 1 (28:05):
You know, it could be.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
About parenting because we have parents here. It could be
about businesses and entrepreneurs. We have entrepreneurs in the building.
It could be about dating because we have serial daters here.
Eight hundred nine two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 4 (28:18):
Call us up relationship for career advice.

Speaker 5 (28:21):
Angela's dropping facts shout. You should know this is as Gee.

Speaker 6 (28:24):
What's up?

Speaker 1 (28:25):
As Way up with Angela?

Speaker 3 (28:26):
Yee, I'm here, Jasmine Brand is here, Maino's here, and
it's time for ask ye eight hundred two ninety two
fifty one fifty.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
What's that this person wants to remain anonymous?

Speaker 6 (28:36):
What's your question?

Speaker 10 (28:37):
Me and my way We've been having some issues that
fifth not on our marriage. You know, how can I
help plugget over this?

Speaker 2 (28:43):
Man?

Speaker 6 (28:43):
I messed up? There?

Speaker 1 (28:44):
Was it an ongoing thing or a one time thing?

Speaker 10 (28:47):
They're having a couple of times.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
How long you been married?

Speaker 6 (28:50):
A year?

Speaker 1 (28:50):
And was there multiple people?

Speaker 6 (28:52):
No?

Speaker 3 (28:53):
I just why did that happen? Because I know as
a woman, one of the things we want to know
is why, because you're much of what she did.

Speaker 8 (29:01):
You know, I have a very strong sexual you know, urge,
I have to get help with that. That's another story.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Well, you sound really upset and hurt. But is she
willing to work through this with you and give you
another chance?

Speaker 8 (29:15):
She is ready to going through it, But you know,
how can we get past this?

Speaker 3 (29:18):
You know, nothing is going to help y'all get pass
this except if you can show improve And what that
means on your behalf is that whatever it is that
she needs to feel more comfortable, you need to do
if she needs access and passwords, and if she needs
to make sure she knows where you are, and if
she needs you to be there, if she needs to
ask you a million questions and you got to answer them,
then that's just part of.

Speaker 6 (29:37):
What you have to do to a robot.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
How did she find out?

Speaker 2 (29:42):
How did she find out? Did you tell her or she.

Speaker 8 (29:44):
Found And you know, I wasn't mad at all, It
was just hey, I messed up and I realized what
it almost talks to me, and I changed my act.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
It's just a time thing, right, It's not something that
somebody gets over overnight. It gets better over time and
over you not messing up. You have to make sure
you don't mess up. You have to make sure that
you're continuing to do special things for her. That's one
person multiple times. You have to be empathetic.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
You have to make sure.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
You have to make sure that person is blocked and
that you're not communicating with them anymore.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
What you're gonna do, Like you guys gonna counsel. You
said you got a problem, You're gonna go.

Speaker 6 (30:20):
To therapy problem you think your problem is?

Speaker 16 (30:26):
Like?

Speaker 1 (30:28):
All right, now, hold time. If you're a nympho, how
do you plan to control that you care?

Speaker 2 (30:33):
He's not.

Speaker 8 (30:34):
We have started reading the Bible when I get that
urge down and find ways so you.

Speaker 12 (30:37):
Know not.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
Wait a minute, So why don't you just have sex
with your wife when you have the urge?

Speaker 6 (30:47):
Maybe know how women?

Speaker 1 (30:47):
Is it getting better?

Speaker 8 (30:51):
Yeah? Or you can just bring.

Speaker 3 (30:58):
Away from people like man. No, sometimes you need a reset.
There's all kinds of different retreats you can do. There's
like wellness retreats. I just got back from Phoenix and Scottsdale.
Maybe plan something. You got to show things that I
really thought, that show that up, that show that you're
really thinking long term, anything that can show your long
term plans, anything that can show that you're being thoughtful,

(31:18):
anything like that that's going to.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Be important right now.

Speaker 8 (31:22):
You appreciate that.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
Or let her cheat back and.

Speaker 6 (31:24):
If you know, if you want cheat, don't get into
a relationship.

Speaker 8 (31:28):
She cheated, it is what it is.

Speaker 6 (31:34):
Yeah, what she do.

Speaker 8 (31:36):
Separated because she was mad, and.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
Well that's not cheated.

Speaker 8 (31:40):
She got her is what I call it.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
Well, good luck and sometimes something like this really shows
you what you could miss that on if you mess up.
And maybe this happening early on in the relationship will
help lay down the groundwork for something more stable so
it doesn't happen later.

Speaker 8 (31:55):
I appreciate you, man, all right, you too?

Speaker 1 (31:58):
He sounds so sad. Right, well, you guys, when we
come back, Joey Badass is going to be joining us.
Lonely at the Top is the name of his album
that's out right now.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
I got a lot of questions for Joey Badass because
last time I interviewed him. He had a whole other
thing going on. But look at him now, you know
what I'm saying. Settle Down had a baby, honest man,
shout out to him.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
It's way up. Yeah, it's going to turn me up.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
Here we go up again.

Speaker 4 (32:23):
This is way up with Angela ye.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (32:26):
Its way up with Angela yee. And look who's back
in the house. Oh yeah, Joey Badass is here. You
always feel like you like my little.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
Brother from Brooklyn.

Speaker 16 (32:34):
That's the fact.

Speaker 3 (32:34):
You know, you got the new album out Lonely at
the top. And what I love about this album is
that it is where you are right now. You still
talk your ish absolutely, but it's also kind of aspirational
for people to listen to it because we think about,
you know, young Joey Badass sixteen, seventeen years old, right
at what you were on then and looking at what
you're on now. I think it's very like appropriate because

(32:56):
it is all the things that you've learned.

Speaker 16 (32:58):
Absolutely.

Speaker 14 (32:59):
Yeah, you know, I think this project is really a
current snapshot of where I'm at, like mindset emotionally, and
you know, I really didn't want to overthink this album
at all, Like I think this is probably the easiest
body of work I've made. And what I mean by
that is I didn't give it no like extra thought
really like that. Yeah, Like like I've never worked on

(33:24):
a project so quick and put it out.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
Wow. For some people, six months is a long time.

Speaker 16 (33:28):
Yeah, not for me.

Speaker 14 (33:29):
It's like like standing time right right, you known, standing
time for me is like two to three years, like
you know, to work on something. And I wanted to
be a little bit more free in my artistic expression.
And I feel like I had to have this wild
concept because I feel like a lot of the time
what happens and takes me so long to put out
music sometimes is that like I hold on to it

(33:51):
for so long and by the time a year goes by,
two years ago. But I'm like, you know what, like
I don't want to I don't want to put this
song out anymore. So I feel like this is probably
like the most aligned body of work that I've put
out with just like where I.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
Am like today right now, Brooklyn's own Joey Badass is here.
You also know him as Unique on Raising Kanan and
he's got a new album out right now. It's Lonely
at the top. First of all, last time you were here,
you definitely lied. Okay what I said.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
Show me video was out and I was like trying
to be like, oh, y'all did this video and people
thought you guys were dating. You were like, yeah, yeah, No,
it was just a rollout.

Speaker 16 (34:29):
It wasn't a lie.

Speaker 14 (34:30):
It was just like you know, we was.

Speaker 16 (34:33):
It was very beginning stages.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
Okay, you know what I mean. So we were it
was too much chemistry. I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
I don't care how much acting you do. Absolutely it
was a little mini movie. Y'all was so cute in
there together. And then after that, I said, I know,
Joey didn't sit up here and lie and tell us no.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
I wasn't understand. You got to protect your relationship.

Speaker 14 (34:49):
Gotta protect it, you know, but also you don't want
to mess things up when it's like in those beginning stages.

Speaker 1 (34:56):
Now, the other thing that you lied about was this
whole seeming retention.

Speaker 16 (34:58):
Oh god, I didn't lie about that either.

Speaker 12 (35:02):
I was.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
I was practicing that.

Speaker 16 (35:08):
I didn't lie about that either, you know, I was.

Speaker 6 (35:10):
I was practice.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
You did it at the time, you know what I'm
saying that at the time, that's what I was pat
you know, the congratulations.

Speaker 14 (35:17):
Sometimes I still like to practice it, you know what
I mean. It's not the easiest thing in the world.
But hey, listen, I think the point I was trying
to make it was the message that I was trying
to spread. The message it is a it's a positive
effect and outcome.

Speaker 1 (35:32):
Listen, you have people do a whole post about it.

Speaker 16 (35:34):
Like oh yeah, oh yeah, No. I was always saying that,
But I do.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
Want to say to this day, I do appreciate that
because I know when you said you were going to
do lip service, like I told you, I was shocked.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
I was like, Joey, Dad, that's just going to do
lip service.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
But it was amazing for you to feel comfortable enough,
you know, to be in the space and have those
types of conversations.

Speaker 1 (35:52):
That's marked a lot.

Speaker 14 (35:53):
It's funny because I see clips come up from that
like ever, you know, and again I'm like, damn, like
life is it's crazy, like you forever.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
Just on this journey, Joey Badass is here. You know,
that's my guy, and we got more with him. When
we come back, we'll be talking about his new album,
and of course his life is definitely lifing in a
good way.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
We'll discuss its way up.

Speaker 4 (36:14):
Yere y'all more way up with angelay On now you
know what it is.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
What's up his way up with Angela Yee and Joey
Badasses here with me. Then he's got his new project
out right now it's lonely at the top. Obviously you're
going on tour with Appsol and Rhapsody.

Speaker 14 (36:30):
Yeah, so that's gonna be in the still coming to
a city near you. Tickets on sale now, Joeybadass dot com.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
What a great lineup for you and you and app
so have such a history too.

Speaker 16 (36:40):
Oh yeah, that's my brother.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
I mean, you guys have been rocking for over ten years.

Speaker 16 (36:44):
That's my soul brother right there.

Speaker 14 (36:45):
We did the first tour in twenty fourteen, and that's
when we like really just locked the brotherhood.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
Yeah, y'all got arrested together. Yeah, all kind of things here.
None the sales of brotherhood like that right now.

Speaker 6 (36:56):
That's the fact doing nothing reason everybody.

Speaker 16 (36:58):
I'm going on tour with tourd forms brotherhoods for sure.

Speaker 1 (37:02):
And like I know this whole situation that happened.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
The rule is back and all of that and that's
been talked about but it was misinterpreted. I think that
going back and forth on the records is always great, right,
That's part of the spirit of Hip Hop two and
the competition and all of that.

Speaker 1 (37:17):
But some people were taking it like very seriously.

Speaker 14 (37:20):
Because you know what, people always want to see blood
in the arena, you know what I'm saying. Like sometimes
people could treat this rap thing like a gladiated sport
and you know, sometimes close for that. So I think
a lot of that came from you know, people on
the internet egging it on and like you know, creating
certain narratives and not knowing the history, not knowing the relationships,
the connections and stuff like that, and just you know, misinterpretations.

(37:43):
But I'm grateful that we were able to keep it sporty. Yeah,
you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
Great music came out of that.

Speaker 6 (37:50):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 14 (37:53):
It's entertainment at the end of the day, you know
what I'm saying. So I'm glad that I was able
to be a part of that, put on the show
and then also like show people that like, hey, we
can have friendly face, but like real competition though, Like
even though it was friendly, like you could tell dudes
was really going at it, you know what I'm saying, Like,
like you can tell maybe it was like one line

(38:15):
away from really going somewhere, you.

Speaker 16 (38:17):
Know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (38:18):
So I think they ever have to edit yourself during
that time where there's some things you be like, I
don't want it to.

Speaker 1 (38:22):
Go too far.

Speaker 16 (38:24):
Yeah maybe yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, i'd say so.

Speaker 14 (38:27):
I'll say if anything, like what the rulers back taught
me is to like be hella intentional with the words
because people's listening, you know what I'm saying, and even
though I may mean it some type of way, the
perception could get spun.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
It was clever, a lot of clever wordplay.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
Yeah yeah, yeah, you know at daylight on the Red
Bull freestyle.

Speaker 14 (38:46):
For sure, for sure, And I feel like, you know,
that's what it was for me, Like I don't think
I there was never a moment where I felt like, yo,
I gotta like rip these dudes image your part or
like you know what I'm saying, I gotta find some
only like I never.

Speaker 16 (39:01):
Felt like that for one second.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
I thought it was wrapped up nicely with that Red
Bull freestyle. I think that was a great way you
Big Sean and Absol and absol being like you put
me in a sticky predicament, but knowing that you guys
are already friends and some people are taking it too seriously.

Speaker 16 (39:15):
Yeah yeah, yeah, no for sure.

Speaker 14 (39:16):
But it's like, you know, if you really think about it,
it's like everybody won in this situation. Yeah, you know
what I'm saying. Anybody did you know what I mean?
It's like everybody got something from me, you know what
I mean? And we was able to give a moment
to the culture of hip.

Speaker 16 (39:29):
Hop that we love so much.

Speaker 3 (39:31):
Joey Badass is here and normally when we come back,
you would have the last word, but there is no
way I'm not gonna let Joey Badass take us.

Speaker 1 (39:38):
Out of here. So when we come back somewhere with
Joey Badass, it's way up.

Speaker 4 (39:42):
We're talking about angela Ye.

Speaker 6 (39:43):
You're way up with angela Ye.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
Please believe that what's up as way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
And normally this would be for your last word, but
today Joey Badass is going to have the last word
because its new project is out.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
It's called It's Lonely at the Top. First, I'm always
happy to see you every single time likewise.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
I remember on social media there was an event and
I talked about this up here in the sneaker store.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
Oh yeah, And I was like, was that hard for
you when something like that happens, Because that went viral.

Speaker 16 (40:12):
Somebody who I was very close with in my past
having a whole perspective shift on me, and it came
from distance. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 14 (40:22):
It's like, yall, now I had to create distance between
myself and this person because things were just happening, and
it's just like, you know what, like I gotta go
this way, and it just came to a moment where
it's just like, cause you know, I'm pretty confrontational. A
message was sent to me that like had funny energy,
and it's just like I know you in real life,
We're not about to go back and forth here when

(40:44):
it's like I'm going to see you, like hey, Andrew,
like what's up to me?

Speaker 16 (40:51):
But you know, it was it was one of those situations.

Speaker 14 (40:54):
It's just like you know, like yo, you know, I
genuinely want to understand, like what's the issue with me?
Like you know, I came here so we could talk
about it like men. Yeah, but like I swear I
didn't show up on like no type of time where
it's like you know, yeah it was have a real
conversation and then you know it went out of him
based on how that person responded. The thing is, I

(41:16):
got genuine love for you, you know what I'm saying,
So I'm gonna come see you about it. It's like, yo,
what's said?

Speaker 1 (41:21):
Type of passion does come from having general love for somebody?

Speaker 16 (41:23):
Absolutely?

Speaker 3 (41:24):
Right now, Brooklyn's down, Joey Badass is here. You also
know him as Unique on Raising Kanan and he's got
a new album out right now. It's lonely at the top.
Being confrontational in a relationship? Are you the one that
always wants to talk about things?

Speaker 16 (41:38):
You see? That's one of them lift service questions?

Speaker 1 (41:40):
Now, just like how is that? Because absolutely it's like,
all right, we need to talk about this.

Speaker 14 (41:45):
Well not necessarily we need to talk, but yeah, yeah
I can be that. But also you know what I am.
It's like, if you want to talk about something, I'm like, right,
what's up? Like I'm always ready, Like I'm like I
was wrong? Oh yeah, absolutely absolutely, I'm listen. Accountability is
my middle name. You know what I'm saying I want
to take account because for me, again, it's like every
loss is a lesson, right, It's like the more I

(42:07):
can see of how I'm being, it's like the more
I can understand of how it could be better.

Speaker 1 (42:12):
Is the most serious relationship you've ever been in?

Speaker 16 (42:15):
Yeah, yeah, I'll say that.

Speaker 5 (42:18):
I love this.

Speaker 14 (42:19):
Yeah, you know this, This relationship is rich levels that
I've never reached before.

Speaker 1 (42:24):
So, yeah, this is so cute to see. I'm going
to stop because I'm you're not You're grown now, you're
thirty years old.

Speaker 14 (42:30):
Everybody'd be like cute, I'll be like cute, Like what like,
que I'm look cute to Now Now I feel that
I know where it's coming from. It's like a it's
a wholehearted place, you know what I mean? And I
definitely do receive that.

Speaker 1 (42:43):
Do you feel like y'all would do stuff together, like
you know, a movie or project?

Speaker 14 (42:48):
Oh yeah, I could definitely see that for us, like
you know, we've spoken about it and things like that,
but I don't think the right opportunity necessarily presented itself yet,
or maybe it's something that.

Speaker 16 (42:58):
We would have to create.

Speaker 1 (42:59):
Yeah, I think you got it.

Speaker 16 (43:00):
Yeah, So that's definitely something that we talk about for sure.
