this for June teeth. Now today we're going to shine
a light on black John Laster, you founded this app.
How long has it been now?
Speaker 5 (01:54):
Four years ago? But back then it was just a map,
so it was it was more of a directory. You know,
it would pick up wherever you're standing in the world
and put the black owned businesses on a Google map
around you. But we've since expanded, like I said, to
more of a black Amazon, where you can now start
the shop.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Online, so you can actually go on Black find something
you like, order it online and it's still a map too,
so it's still yes, all.
Speaker 6 (02:15):
The map unestionately's still there. Yeah, absolutely, And if.
Speaker 7 (02:18):
You ever wondering how to spell, the app is bl app.

Half Black, half app.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Yeah, it is on It is on Google Play and iPhone.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
You also know we love doing Nanica Black, blot Block
Blolo all right, but today it's a special day as
we shine a light on you, John and on black
because this has been a long time coming to get
to where it is, but it's been amazing to watch
this happen. We are going to shine a light on
different black owned businesses every single break. Make sure you
guys listen, make sure you support these businesses, make sure
(02:50):
you purchase, make sure you post, make sure you spread
the word. That's how we are going to thrive as
it trying to shut all of our stuff down.
Speaker 5 (02:56):
And you know what, big shout out to you. And
because people don't know a lot of the work that
you do behind the scenes, but you were one of
the first people to embrace this. You saw the app
before it was an app.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, when it was in this testing basis.
Speaker 6 (03:08):
Yeah, when it was a prototype.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
I mean really, John had us on there, so how
could I not.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Have a business.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Yeah, But anyway, let's get it started.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
When we come back, we're going to start naming some
of these businesses. Every single break is dedicated to one
of the businesses that's on black where you can go
and get on the app. Make sure you download it blap,
and then you can go ahead and order from one
of these amazing businesses.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
So get ready for this. It's way up in no
bed we about.
Speaker 6 (03:35):
To do this.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
One of the most famous women in radio vidio. Men,
we're talking about Angela here, you're way up with Angela.
Ye please believe that what's up?
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Its way up?
Speaker 1 (03:44):
But Angela yee a keen Wiz is here with us.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
What's up?
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Getting ready for the twenty six June twenty six. But
you have your show that's going to be sold out, Yes.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Hopefully keim w dot com to get tickets.
Speaker 6 (03:54):
Funny as hell.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
If you want to go see John Lester at the
Comedy Seller, forget it because it's impossible to get in.
Speaker 5 (03:59):
No kidding, It is kind of you know what, and
you know what, you do have to book tickets like
three weeks out a month out for the for the
room that I host.
Speaker 6 (04:07):
Yeah, it is a little difficult.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
That room should be black.
Speaker 6 (04:10):
Yeah, yeah, once's once black.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
H I would love my tickets.
Speaker 6 (04:16):
Still got sales.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
About black. It's an app to help you find some
black owned businesses. You can now order. It's like an
Amazon Amazon and so can you tell us what business
you want to highlight this break?
Speaker 5 (04:29):
One of my goals is for people to start switching
out their daily activities. So something that people use every
day is toilet paper. So let's start with toilet paper,
royal flush toilet paper right now.
Speaker 7 (04:43):
Black people always name things the best, always have the best.
Speaker 6 (04:47):
We do royal royal toilet paper. Yo, you kicked up
that name.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
How many plies is it?
Speaker 6 (04:54):
How many? How many flies?
Speaker 5 (04:55):
Here's the thing, yo, let me tell you something. I
believe it's three it's three fly.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yeah you know how we do.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Yes, we're not going to do it.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
We're gonna step it up.
Speaker 6 (05:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (05:04):
So it's three ply toilet paper. Here's the other thing.
It's also bamboo.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Oh yeah, only bamboo on this booty.
Speaker 5 (05:11):
Yeah only yeah, back yo, So you can have a
bam boom booty, not free.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
A boot toilet paper at least three ply.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
Get your bam boom booty. So it's eco primley. Okay, yeah,
so so is the packaging as well.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
And so is your poop.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
So yeah, so it's your friend.
Speaker 5 (05:30):
So it's called Royal Flesh Flush toilet paper. And here's
the thing. Like I said, my goal is for folks
to be able to switch out things that they use
on a daily basis. There's no reason people don't care
where they get their toilet paper from or your you know,
bottle water or something. If we start to switch to
things out that we use on a daily basis, like
toilet paper, sheet dish washing, the church all that, then
(05:50):
then then we'll be in a much better place.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Oh okay, Royal Flesh.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Make sure y'all go on black and check them out
and shout out to the three ply because I want
to tell you my dad, so g P be buying
one ply toilet paper.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Oh yeah, get on your hand.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
Yeah that's some real That's that's some animals. Ca man
got better than that.
Speaker 6 (06:10):
That's some real McDonald's bathroom breakage.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
All right, Happy dune tee th Royal Flush on Black.
Now when we come back, we'll have more for you.
Ye yeez, what you all been waiting for?
Speaker 4 (06:23):
You're tapped in the way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
What's up his way up with Angela Yee. I'm here
with a Keen Woods and John Lasson. Both of them
are comedians, but John is also a tech entrepreneur. He
has an app called Black and Today for Juneteenth, we
are highlighting these black owned businesses.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
What we got now, y'all?
Speaker 5 (06:39):
I would like to, like, I said, I want to
stay on the stuff that we use on a daily basis.
On my way today here, I jumped in the shower
and used a Rococo Design shower jail, which smells amazing.
Coco Design, Yes, co Co Design, So make sure y'all
checked that out in the app. Rocco Design also has
some wildly dope candles. Also, it's a gift shop with
(07:02):
the wildest names of these joints. One of them is
called Iconic. Make s Happen is the name of another one.
I don't want to curse. Yeah, yes, but there's dope.
So there's she's got dope ass stuff that she use
on a daily basis, as well as candles. You know,
we love some candles, you.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Know we do. We like our house to smell good
walk in, So what is that?
Speaker 5 (07:21):
Make sure y'all check out Rococo design. It's it's really dope.
And again, like I said, the shower gel and the
soap and stuff that she says like that daily basis,
there's no reason for us to be spending that money
with a two point one trillion dollars spending power, and
you know, and folks probably can't even name three black
on shower gels.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
That's a tragedy.
Speaker 7 (07:40):
Do you want to briefly explain to people, because I
didn't know, Do you want to briefly explain to people
how on the app they would they would find these products?
Speaker 6 (07:46):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (07:46):
So you know, obviously the explores the mapping section, but
hit the hit products and then you know, like the
Rococo design as well as the toilet paper is going
to be in the home products.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
All right, make it happen and then wipe your butt
with royal flats and then.
Speaker 6 (07:59):
Wipe your white your butt with flesh.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
I rightly got more for you on Juneteenth.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
It's way up.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
What's up? His way up at Angela. Ye, I'm here
with a Keen Woods and John Laster. John is the
founder of Black, a black owned app. It's like a
black Amazon Blamazon Amazon.
Speaker 6 (08:16):
It's al Amazon, Baby. I like that I'm stealing that
and you.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Can help us actually know about some black owned businesses
that are amazing that we should be supporting.
Speaker 6 (08:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (08:24):
Yo, I would also like to highlight the big Mouth toothbrush.
Speaker 6 (08:28):
That's something else I have.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
That you have the big Mouth tooth brush, That's what
I'm talking about. I love that I have the travel one,
and then I have the electric one for at home.
Speaker 6 (08:35):
I have the.
Speaker 5 (08:36):
Electric one, and I have the non electric one. I
have and I have the prototype. Right after she did
Shark Tank, doctor Bobby was on Shark Tank. He's also
my dad.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
Big Mouth tooth Yeah right, yes, I love First of all,
I love this product.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
That's so funny that I happen to have this.
Speaker 6 (08:52):
That's amazing because.
Speaker 5 (08:53):
You support black owned and there's no reason why all
of us shouldn't have a black.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
On dental Flaws showed that she's been using too.
Speaker 6 (09:01):
Shout out to doctor Bob.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Shout out to Dodor Bobby into the big Mouth tooth brush.
So I have a pink one that I bring on
the road with me because it has a little case
for it, so that I can always, like make sure
I have my own tooth brush. Not the ones that
fall fall apart in your mouth to get in the hotel.
And then I have the electric one for at home.
And that's why my teeth are amazing.
Speaker 5 (09:17):
A lot of people don't know too that the partnership
that doctor Bobby has with Sonic, So these are not
some ragnan too.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Yeah, having fancy one, yeah, it's very fancy.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
It's fancier than the fancy one.
Speaker 6 (09:29):
Yeah, which has like four or five speeds on it too.
Speaker 5 (09:32):
Yo.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
It's dope that only using it for your mouth.
Speaker 5 (09:35):
Yeah, yeah, you know what. This is a family friendly show.
That's why we don't take you nowhere. That's why we don't.
Speaker 6 (09:41):
Take you nowhere.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
All right. I keep saying it fel great on this.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Why you know, June Teeth, I'm still gay? Black man
is save me on this?
Speaker 2 (09:55):
H all right, happy June Teeth. We got more black
owned businesses courtesy of LAP for you to support when
we come back.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
This way up, you want to know my name?

Speaker 2 (10:07):

so you can help he can help you find some
(10:29):
black owned businesses. It is Juneteenth and I want to
make sure we continue to do things like this. But

in a truck and he yells at the window. Hey,

June Team, and we got John Last to hear the
founder of Blap. John, you have another business that you
want to let us know about and highlight.
Speaker 5 (19:55):
Absolutely, I believe that the final frontier for us as
a people is is financial literacy. Because it doesn't matter
how much money we make, if you don't know what
to do with it, you're gonna end up back at
square one. So I like to shout out to financial
literacy card games that you can find in the education
section on Black The Rap Cards game.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
I've actually played that game. Yes, it's really at the
coffee shop we all come together, Yes we do.
Speaker 5 (20:20):
I was terrible at it at my Homegirls of COREA
has got a game called Network Up, which is financial
literacy and.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
The education section. Yes, and it's actually really fun card games.
Speaker 5 (20:29):
They're super fun. You can play them with drinks, you
can play them without drinks.

That would be for you.
Speaker 6 (20:36):
Without drinking.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
I can't a job. Both don't drink, I.
Speaker 6 (20:39):
Drink, drink.
Speaker 5 (20:41):
You didn't have to say that there was there was
no need to take that extra shot.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
I never started, there was never stopped, never stop.
Speaker 5 (20:50):
Yeah, my drinking had one year. Yeah, the year I
used to drink in is no tech startup.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
So this is amazing. Find anti literacy, like you said,
the rap car is networth up. You can go on
that black app and find those on there and purchase
them and support and has some fun. Okay, we got
one more presumteenth when we come back that sound black

of these entrepreneurs. With everything that's been happening, one of
the positives that we should always take away is that
we got to always find a way, and that means
we got to work together in community and we got
(23:05):
to support these amazing businesses.
Speaker 6 (23:07):
And wait waiting on folks like we gotta let that go.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
Nobody's gonna save you, No one's.
Speaker 6 (23:11):
Gonna save us.
Speaker 5 (23:11):
I tried to explain that in a in a meeting
that I was in the other day, Like people don't
understand that the venture capital money where a lot of
these tech startups, it's our start with friends and family
rep Like, people don't know venture capital money last year
was two tenths of one percent for black families ninety
nine point eight. I don't know how much closer we
can get to Zee. When are we going to get
the memo.
