Angela. What I call it?

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Yee whoa?

Speaker 3 (00:11):
What's up? Its way up with Angela?

Speaker 4 (00:13):
Ye, Happy Friday, and it's really your happy Friday. I'm
actually in Miami getting ready for the South Beach Wine
and Food Festival. Shout out to Chef JJ for the
cookout we have that going on tomorrow. I'll also be
moderating a foody compano while I'm out here, and just
excited to be in some better weather. That's all I
have to say about that. But we do have some

(00:34):
special guests joining us today. Josh Pele is gonna be
joining us, and he's gonna teach you guys magic for real,
and I mean literally teach you some magic all right.
He's a magician but also a mentalist, so you guys
will definitely enjoy that. I learned that I can now
call myself a magician because now I know how to
do some magic tricks. But let's get the show started.

(00:54):
Some love and some positivity. Let's shine a light eight hundred.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Call us up. Let us know who you would like
to shine a lot on. Let's press and love is well.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
We don't like them.

Speaker 5 (01:05):
Shinin turn your lights on, y'all, spreading love to those
who are doing greatness.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Shine the light on, Shine the light on. It's time
to shine a light on.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
All right, his way up with Angela Yee and it's
time to shine a light And since I'm in Miami,
I want to shine a light on Chef JJ. Now,
he is the person that is doing the cookout and
he actually has me co hosts with him, and it's
been an ongoing thing. I did the one in New York. Now,
I did South Beach. This is you know, a couple
of years I've been doing this. But he's also the

(01:39):
twenty nineteen recipient of a James Beard Foundation Book Award
for his book Between Harlem and Heaven. He's also the
founder of Field Trip, which is an amazing restaurant. And yeah,
he also has his show Just Eats with Chef JJ.
I've been on that show as well, but shout out
to him. He went to the Culinary Institute of America.
I studied West African cuisine in Ghana. Then he came

(02:01):
back to New York City. I've actually met him at
one of the restaurants where he was.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
The head chef.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
So I just love to see people's progress and what
they have going on in them expanding outside of being
a chef but also creating and cultivating experiences. So thank you,
Chef JJ for always having me and for being an
amazing person.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Now, CURTI, who do you want to shine a light
on the roof Lady.

Speaker 6 (02:22):
Bug Johnson Memorial Foundation?

Speaker 3 (02:24):
All right, tell me what it is.

Speaker 6 (02:26):
It's a memorial foundation. We started out that my mom
passed away, and what we do is give our backpacks
to our school. We have a thanksgiving, we do lunch
in the community, and we just try to be out
in the community in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Oh, what a beautiful thing to do in honor of
your mom.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
That is nice. Her name could live on for everybody.

Speaker 6 (02:48):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
And where can people find out more information about this
too if they want to participate, donate.

Speaker 6 (02:54):
Our website is r l j m F dot org.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
I see it, the Ruth Ladybug Johnson Memorial Foundation. Well
that is amazing. She looks beautiful too.

Speaker 6 (03:08):
Thank you so much. Angel.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
All right, thank you for calling. That was Shina Light
eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty. If you
couldn't get through, you could leave a message and shine
a light during last word and when we come back,
we have your yee t. And Asap Rocky, when I
tell you, the blessings are piling up.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
He's got new jobs, new movies. Will give you some details.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
It's way up, they say in the rooms.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
From industry Shade to all the gossips out send Angela's
feeling that eet.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
All right, it's way up with Angela yee and it's
time for your yet now.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Asap Rocky not guilty.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
And not only is he not guilty, but it seems
like he has a whole lot of things up his sleeve.
One of them is that he is now appointed as
the first ever creative director of ray Band. So yes,
congratulations to him. He definitely wears ray Band all the time.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
They said.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
His first order of business is going to be a
redesign of the core line up of frames with a
brand new lens type. The release is called the Blacked
Out Collection and it's going to feature gold plated details,
brand new ultra black lenses. The first release of the
collection is going to be coming out in April. Now,
that's a nice solid brand for him to be working with.
In addition to that, Spike Lee, he's going to be

(04:20):
starring in the movie Highest to Lowest and Spike Lee
shared the first look at that movie with acep Rocky
ironically in a prison jumpsuit. So there's not a lot
of details about what's going to be happening in this movie,
but it is a reinterpretation of High and Low. Denzel
Washington's in it, I Spice is in it, Jeffrey Right

(04:41):
is in it. So get ready for all of that,
and everybody's waiting for the project. Don't be dumb that
he's been teasing. It's going to be asp Rocky and
Asap Nest. And here is a little snippet that he posted.
It's not great quality, but this is what he posted.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
The drops mean nothing like.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Honestly, all right, Dan, can you hear me I produce
it here?

Speaker 1 (05:08):
What did you think I would love to hear it
in better quality?

Speaker 3 (05:12):
All right? Well, look it's a tease.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
The other thing that Asap Brocky is doing is he's
moved a step closer to buying into a UK soccer
club after being found not guilty. They said he said
to buy eighty percent of the Birkenhead Bass Club for
just over sixteen million dollars. He's has plans to attend
the games, and they're saying they hope that will help
increase visibility and revenue so that Jilly is moving forward.

(05:36):
According to The Independent, they expect that to be completed
by the start of the next.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Season later this year.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
He's got a lot of things going on, and I'm
so sure that he was just waiting to see what
was going to happen with all of this.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
So it looks like everything, all the blessings are flooding
in for him right now. All right.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Clarissa Shields I saw when this happened. You know, she's
been suspended from fighting in mission again after testing positive
for marijuana following her victory in Flint earlier this month. Now,
she said on social media yesterday that she's never smoked,
which I believe. She said, it's a temporary suspension to
suspension till I go to child for there's a very
petite amount. I've never smoked weed and still the undisputed

(06:17):
women's heavyweight champion. That's crazy, Like, does anybody else think
that's crazy? Because marijuana is legal. It's not like it's
something that's going to help you win a fight. And
she said, this isn't breaking and it's not a thinking face.
It was marijuana, no peds. Also, it's a temporary suspension
till I go to trial. So I believe that she's

(06:38):
never smoked weed. And I will say one thing about
Clarissa Shales. No matter what, she takes what she does
very seriously. So I can't see her jeopardizing that. And
she said, oh my soul. Can't nobody tarnish my image.
It's a temporary suspension. I'm not suspended from boxing. I'm
not stripped of my titles. I am just waiting. Also,
I can't defend a lie. Do your research. She also

(06:59):
says she hasn't been around people smoking wheat as well,
because it could be like people were suggesting maybe a
contact high, but she's not even put herself in those positions.
All right, Well that is your ye tea. And when
we come back, we have about last night. Y'all know,
I'm in Miami, so we're gonna talk about what we
have going on out here.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
It's way up.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
So about last night, Yes, I went down.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
It's way up with Angela yee, and I'm out here
in South Beach, Miami. Well right now I'm in Pemburg Pines.
But I want to talk about what I did last night.
Now I'm out here for the South Beach Wine and
Food Festival, and whenever I can, when I have work
to do, I like to get someplace early, just in case.
There's been a lot of issues with flights, and I'm
not gonna lie. Flying is a little bit scary at

(07:47):
this point in time. My flight was definitely delayed yesterday
getting in here. But what I did last night was
I went out to eat at Carbone. Dan, you're a
foody kind of right, Yep, Kurt, do.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
You eat at Carbone.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
I've been once. It's delicious. It's hard to get a table.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
Yeah, So the one here is yeah, the one here
is beautiful. It's amazing. It probably is the nicest looking
Carbone that I've been to. And I thought about what
Mario Carbone said when he came on way up with
Angela Yee. He was talking about how people go out
to eat. They make reservations, Like you said, it's not
easy to get a reservation. He doesn't understand when people

(08:24):
don't dress nicely to go out to dinner.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Is that something that you do?

Speaker 1 (08:30):
I tried.

Speaker 7 (08:30):
I mean, I'm not going to go up in like
a sweatsuit. But I also can't stand when places like
will like deny you if you're wearing sneakers or you
don't have like a sport jacket or a collar.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
I think that's a dated oh sports chucket in colar. No,
I can't even imagine that.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
A lot of places still do that.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
Well, yeah, so I will say, so I thought about
that when I was there, just because I know he
was saying, like, you're paying all this money, you're going
out to eat, don't come dress like you said, in
sweats and things like that.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
And so I will say I was.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
Observing everybody that was in there, and I actually made
sure just from conversation that I was like, Okay, let
me at least look a little nice, because I am
definitely that go out to eating sweats type of person,
you know. I just flew in and I don't necessarily
always go to like fancy restaurants like that.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
You know, it's not really but it was nice.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
And the other thing I noticed when I was there,
there was one person that came in and she actually
sat down and had dinner by herself, and I was like,
that's actually kind of cool.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
I love that you do that I have before tables
at restaurants that are really hard to get a table.
If you go for one, they'll.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
See you well, but you know it's a table for
two anyway.

Speaker 7 (09:37):
Right, But I don't know, I don't know if they
feel bad for you, but whatever it is, if you
go up for one as a walk in, there's a
good chance you'll set okay.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
And the last thing I want to say that happened
at Carbone this was nice. While we were waiting for
our table to get ready, we sat at the bar
and two people on one side of us got up,
and so the other people on the other side of
us said, can y'all move down two seats?

Speaker 3 (09:58):
And then they bought a drink and will buy you
a drink. I was like, no problem, you.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
Need me to And then then it also made me
say I should have ordered something more expensive. But anyway,
that was my night last night. Those were all the
things that happened. But shout out to you know, everybody
at Carbone. We had a great meal.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
It was good. I slept so good after that. Now
you know what's coming next? Right?

Speaker 4 (10:18):
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty is time
for tell us a secret?

Speaker 3 (10:24):
Remember This is a no judgment zone.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
Y'all was so mad, and I did find out a
lot of things about the last tell us a secret
about nursing, and uh, you know if you're not a
registered nurse and whatever. But anyway, you can look at
that on the way up with you page. But right
now you can tell us a secret. Eight hundred nine
two fifty one fifty any secret that you have. It's
a no judgment zone. You are anonymous, but you may

(10:47):
go viral. Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.
Call us up and tell us a secret.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Oh yeah, this is a judgment free zone. Tell us
a secret?

Speaker 3 (10:57):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (10:57):
His way up at Angela yee and happy Friday? And
Friday also means tell us a secret. Eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
You know the deal. It is a no judgment zone
and you get to stay anonymous. What's up? Anonymous?

Speaker 7 (11:10):
Call it?

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Tell us a secret.

Speaker 8 (11:11):
I need to take my baby father off my hands
because he is living rent free right now and I
cannot do it anymore.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Wait, so tied to me? So you're not with him?

Speaker 8 (11:23):
No, h we're together, but I don't want.

Speaker 9 (11:25):
To be anymore.

Speaker 8 (11:26):
That's me being mom my instincts kicking. So the life
got to be paid either way. My kids can't stay
in the dogs. They got to eat.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
They don't have no job or nothing or nothing.

Speaker 8 (11:37):
This has been going on for three years now, what.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
How are you gonna get him out? I don't know.

Speaker 8 (11:43):
Matter of fact, you want to give me advice too.
While we're on the line, What do you think I
have to do? You can't go about?

Speaker 3 (11:50):
Did you tell him you want him to leave?

Speaker 10 (11:52):
Yes?

Speaker 8 (11:53):
Too many conversations?

Speaker 4 (11:54):
Is he on the lease or anything? Yeah, yeah, that's
a tough one. When is it time to renew April?

Speaker 11 (12:00):
Birl?

Speaker 2 (12:01):
I'm telling my mother days.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
Well, you know what to do in April? If he
ain't got that money, he's got to get off that lease.
He's got to go right right. What does his family
say about that? That's crazy?

Speaker 8 (12:14):
Honestly, I feel like they're like antagonizers at this point
because they kind of live the same like just coasting.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
And imagine how the kids are looking at this now.
They're looking at their daddy not doing nothing, being a bum. Yeah,
he need a wake up call, girl. You know what
to do in April?

Speaker 6 (12:31):
Right?

Speaker 8 (12:32):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (12:33):
All right? Thank you for calling and telling that secret
to us.

Speaker 8 (12:36):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
I have a good one you too. What's up, Anonymous color?

Speaker 2 (12:40):
How are you good morning?

Speaker 9 (12:42):
How you doing good?

Speaker 12 (12:43):
Good?

Speaker 3 (12:43):
You want to tell us a secret? No judgment?

Speaker 8 (12:45):
Oh yeah, please don't judge me.

Speaker 6 (12:47):
Oh.

Speaker 8 (12:47):
I make more money than what my wife thinks I make. Oh,
I'll put the money in another account that you don't
know nothing about.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Now why, I'm just curious why?

Speaker 8 (12:57):
Because I feel like, you know, you need a I
go plan for you never know how how things are
gonna turn out. You know, you just got to make
sure that you know you protect yourself at the same time, Plus,
we got kids, so you know there's something go wrong,
such as a divorce.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
You know, are you planning that if you think that
there's a reason it's not gonna.

Speaker 8 (13:18):
Work, I'm not planning it.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
I will say.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
A lot of us have like financial trauma from things
that we've experienced and seen and how we've been raised.

Speaker 8 (13:25):
And like you add so financial trauma.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
And if you say it's about the kids too, you
know there's ways you can also start accounts for your
kids that they can't access right now that only they
will be able to access later.

Speaker 8 (13:36):
Oh, yeah, I have to have each Okay.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
So you're getting it all set up. What do you
think she would do if she found out? I'm just curious.

Speaker 8 (13:43):
A lot of questions, a lot of why did we
get this? And why you say we didn't have this?

Speaker 3 (13:48):
And you know, so you feel kind of bad.

Speaker 8 (13:53):
I don't feel bad at all, because if I do,
we's gonna do it.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
And then what are you gonna do with this money?
At some point?

Speaker 11 (13:58):
Just have it?

Speaker 3 (13:59):
Or like, what's the plan?

Speaker 8 (14:01):
I'll be eventually best in some real estate and just
have it in your name only putting the kidney.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
Personally, I'm not mad, but I know when it comes
to finances and relationships, not being honest could be an issue.
But listen, as long as you're holding everything else down
and you got that going on, I can't judge you.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
I appreciate it, all right, Thank you for calling.

Speaker 8 (14:22):
Thank you all right?

Speaker 4 (14:23):
Well that was tell us a secret eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through,
you can always leave a message and ask a question
that way, and when we come back, we have.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Your yee t.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
And this doesn't look like good news for Diddy, but
one of his attorneys have said that I don't want
to do this anymore. We'll give you those details. It's
way up the show.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
She's about to blow the lead ab off this spot.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Let's get it.

Speaker 5 (14:44):
Oh yeah, Angela's feeling that yet, Come.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
And get the tea.

Speaker 12 (14:48):
Yo.

Speaker 4 (14:48):
It's way up at Angela. Yea, and it's time for
that yee t. All right, Diddy, more drama.

Speaker 6 (14:53):
You know.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
May is when he's going to have his federal trial,
and one of his attorneys is leaving the case. Penny
Rico fouled emotion this morning in the Southern District of
New York Federal court. He wants to withdraw his council
and the documents. It says, under no circumstances can I
continue to effectively serve as council for Shawn Combs consistent
with the ABA standards for criminal Justice. He added that

(15:17):
there are sufficient reasons for the brevity of his request,
and he has discussed the action with Diddy's league council,
confirming there won't be any lapse in representation now. TMZ
did speak to Ditty's people, and according to his sources,
they're saying that it's not a crisis. There's no panic,
there's nothing to read between the lines here, and that
the rules of professional conduct require him to say things

(15:40):
that might sound dramatic and unlike the way that people
normally speak.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Dan, what do you think is this a red flag?

Speaker 1 (15:46):
I would say so, yes, all right now, yet.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
I definitely thought so, and especially the way this is
being presented. But yes, so.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
I don't know what his reason is, and I'm sure
at some point it's gonna come up. But again, that
trial starts in all right, young thug is trying to
get back the things that were seized during that YSL raid.
He actually was supposed to be in court this morning
after the longest criminal trial in state history. He's out
on prison. He's out of prison and on probation. They're

(16:15):
trying to get back one hundred and fifty thousand dollars
in cash, expensive jewelry, his cars like a twenty twenty
two Chevrolet Corvette, a twenty twenty two Porsche, a twenty
twenty one Benz two Mercedes, Benz gts may back all
these things that he hasn't been able to get back.
They were supposed to have emotions hearing this morning. That
judge informed the media right before nine am that it

(16:38):
had been canceled, so not shore when that's going to
be actually rescheduled. But he was also, you know, trying
to see what can happen about want my stuff back too.
I don't know what normally happens in a situation like this,
but I would think, you come home, let me get
my cars back, let me get my one hundred and
fifty thousand back.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
All right now.

Speaker 4 (16:59):
Reason was rec On heard Bootleg cav and he was
talking about getting dropped from TDE and he purposely, he says,
wanted to get dropped, and his host strategy during the
beef between Kendrick and Drake was him actually praising Drake.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
Here's what he said.

Speaker 10 (17:15):
When the Dot Drake beef started, I felt like topping
them were kind of like dragging the feet a little bit.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
I don't think purposely.

Speaker 10 (17:21):
I just think they had a lot of going on,
and I knew that if I kind of like sparked
a fire a little bit, today'd be like, we got
to separate from this. So I kind of like started
tweeting on the side of Drake purposely because I saw
how how Yeah, so there's fans that hate me for that.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
Uh yeah, Is that a good strategy?

Speaker 1 (17:37):
I mean, it worked, so I guess so, yes, he probably.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
I do think maybe he would have gotten dropped anyway, right,
And I don't know about doing that because it did
make like he said, people hated him.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
Burned a bridge.

Speaker 4 (17:50):
Yeah, definitely burned a bridge, but not even just with that,
but also with fans that are like, dude, like you know,
what was that about? But he said that was his strategy.
All right, So that is your Yet when we come back,
we have under the radar. These are the stories that
are not necessarily in the headlines. They're flying under the radar.
If you're waiting for your tax return, if you're filing,

(18:10):
you may have to wait even longer than you think.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
All right, it's way up.

Speaker 5 (18:14):
Yeah, news list in the news that relates to you.
These stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
It's way up at Angela yee. And it's time for
those under the radar stories. Now. The IRS started laying
off more than six thousand new and newly promoted employees
across the country yesterday. That's part of Donald Trump's campaign
to shrink the federal workforce, and that could definitely affect
the current tax filing season. You know, layoffs could continue

(18:40):
into today at some IRS offices around the country if
weather conditions prevent managers and employees from getting to work.
Millions of Americans are filing their returns and hoping to
get their refunds back as soon as possible, but we
don't know what's going to end up happening with all
of these layoffs also impacted our members of the Appeals Team.
They help resolve disputes with litigation of taxpayers, and ahead

(19:02):
of the layoffs, they've also gone through an initial list
of approximately fifteen thousand probationary employees to try tossure that
no one being laid off this week plays a direct
role and filing season. But there's a lot of concerns
about this as well. Now I have another story that
is extremely sad but important. A young girl is being

(19:23):
her death by suicide is being investigated by school police.
This is in Gainesville, Texas. Eleven year old Joscelyn and
Rojo Cranza died on February eighth, and apparently she was
being bullied at school because other students were insulting her,
saying that her family was in the US illegally. She
was taunted at school over her family's immigration status. They

(19:47):
were going to call immigration, they said, so they could
take her parents away and she would be left alone.
According to her mom, she had not spoken. She has
spoken to investigators about what led to the death, but
there's nothing concrete yet. She didn't even know, oh that
her daughter was being bullied. She said, I never knew
anything about that. My daughter never showed changes. She said
her daughter school was aware of the bullying but did

(20:08):
not tell her, and she only learned her daughter had
been receiving counseling at school when investigators told her, and
CNN did reach out to the school for comments.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
But really sad situation.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
Imagine eleven years old, you're being bullied so badly that
allegedly something like this could happen. They are still investigating.
They were trying to revive her. She had been without
life for a long time. But hundreds of friends, friends
and family members did go to Saint Mary Catholic Church
to attend her funeral on Wednesday. Just a really sad situation.

(20:39):
All right, Well that is you're under the radar stories now.
We do still have asked ye on the way. Plus
we'll be talking to Josh Pelly. He he is a
magician but also a mentalist. Definitely gonna be interesting conversations
for you guys to hear. And I know over the
radio you might feel like, oh, it's hard, it's difficult

(20:59):
to do magic. He's also a friend of our producer Dan, Right, Dan.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
That's a fact. That's quite impressive.

Speaker 4 (21:05):
Yeah, I met him through you. You had him doing magic.
But that is you're under the radar. We'll be back.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
It's way up way She's like a tout like.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
They Angela Jean, like they Angela Jeane. Man, she's spilling
it all. This is yeat way up.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
It's way up with Angela Yee. And it is a Friday.

Speaker 4 (21:25):
I'm in South Beach, Miami, getting ready for the Wine
and Food Festival. Let's get into this, yea te so on.
Some unfortunate news today. Biletta Wallace, that's Biggie's mom, has
passed away. According to TMZ, she did actually pass this
morning in Strausburg, Pennsylvania. They said she was in hospice
care and the cause of death is natural causes. By

(21:47):
the way, according to this report, his estate was Biggie's
estate was worth about ten million when he died. And
Valletta Wallace was running that estate and it has now
an estimated value of one hundred and six million dollars.
So again, she was only seventy two years old. Rest
in peace of Alletta Wallace. Our condolences to the family

(22:08):
Tiana Wallace, you know, Biggie's daughter. Just everybody, just really
tragic but natural causes at the age of seventy two.
All right, now, young Jack had to go to work
and talk about a tragedy that happened with him.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
He revealed that the three children.

Speaker 4 (22:24):
Who tragically died at a fire at Country Oaks apartments
in Atlanta were actually his brother's children, only four years old,
two years old, and a nine month old.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
Here's what he had to say the.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
Apartment fire in Atlanta two days ago.

Speaker 6 (22:39):
I don't think people knew that dad was my brother,
my brother's family, the kids, and again, I just have
to see it.

Speaker 10 (22:46):
So I want people to know that I intentionally did
not want to.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
Speak out on it because I did not want to
overshadow this story. But the reality of it is I'm human,
We're human, and I'm hurt.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Oh my gosh, listen all of this tragedy.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
Condolences and to his brother, to his family, to everybody
who is suffering from that incredible.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
Loss, those poor babies.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
All right, and T Paine has sold his publishing catalog
and Select Masters to Harbor View. He said, I'm excited
for this next chapter and to partner with harbor View
Equity as they help preserve the legacy of my music.
This catalog represents years of hard work, creativity and unforgettable moments,
and I'm grateful to see it continue to reach new heights.

(23:29):
He sold over fifty million singles in his career, accumulated
billions of streams, and he has over ten Billboard Hot
one hundred charting singles.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
All right, now, this was a really weird story.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
But DJ Khalid and Takashi sixty nine, they both are
some of the latest celebrities to get a black coffin
at their homes.

Speaker 6 (23:51):
You know.

Speaker 4 (23:51):
DJ Khaled's coffin was dropped off at his Miami residence
last Saturday. Two people pulled up in a truck to
the security guard. They claim to be from a delivery
come and after they were given permission, they deposited the
coffin at his outside his gate and across the coffin,
it said r I p Ovo and r I P
Drake and white letters along with an upside down cross,

(24:13):
and then the people delivering got out to get on
their knees and pray in front of the coffin before
they jump back in their truck and drove off.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
Takashi also got one of these. He also lives in Florida.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
He got a similar casket outside of his residence and
there was white lettering written on it. It said r
P King Vaughn. And you know, Takashi did have a
long standing beef with King Vaughan. Not sure what's going
on here. They did reach out to DJ Khaled, He
did not make a comment right now at this time.
All right, well that is your yut and when we

(24:44):
come back, it is a new music Friday. You know,
Friday is a day the new music comes out. We're
gonna tell you what you should be listening for and
will even give you guys some snippets.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
Its way out.

Speaker 5 (24:54):
Relationship for career advice, Angelo's dropping facts.

Speaker 4 (24:59):
This is Aske what's up his way up with Angela
Yee and it's time to ask ye. That's where I
give you guys your advice. All right, definitely want to
help you out the best way that I can. And
today we have Robbie on the line. What's that Robbie?

Speaker 6 (25:11):
Hi?

Speaker 3 (25:12):
Hi, what's good? What's your question for? Ask ye?

Speaker 11 (25:16):
So recently my man broke up with me on Valentine's Day,
So I'm looking for tips to get a new man.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
Why do you break up with you on Valentine's Day?

Speaker 11 (25:25):
I don't know. We've been dating for like a month, so, like,
we hooked up on grinder, everything we wanted, a movie,
everything seemed perfect. And then on Valentine's that he texted
me that he was saved by the blood of Jesus Christ,
he's not gay anymore, and that I don't want to
be with you anymore.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
You need to find God.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
So you only dated him for a month though, Yeah,
that wasn't really your boyfriend yet. That was somebody you
met and y'all was kind of still hooking up because
a month is not like that's my man, is it?

Speaker 12 (25:53):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
Well, listen, you don't even know him well enough to
know what was going on in his life. But now
you want a new man? Yeah, why don't you want
to just date?

Speaker 6 (26:01):
Like?

Speaker 3 (26:01):
Why does it have to be your man?

Speaker 4 (26:02):
Why can't you just you meet new friends until you
find somebody that you really lock in with.

Speaker 11 (26:08):
I don't know. I've I always felt like I'll meet people,
but I'll never find true love. So I'm really just
looking for somebody, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (26:17):
I think you will find true love, but you cannot
put that pressure on yourself for feeling like anybody that
you date has to be the one.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
It takes a little time and you have to be patient.

Speaker 4 (26:26):
How old are you, Robbie, I'm a keen. Oh my gosh,
you are only eighteen years old. You have all the
time in the world to enjoy yourself and have some
fun and make friends. Remember, the person that you're going
to be with is also the person who's going to
be your best friend, right.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
Oh yeah, that's true.

Speaker 4 (26:43):
You're not going to say that somebody's your best friend
when you just meet them a month later.

Speaker 3 (26:47):
It takes a little time to build up to that.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
So you have to look at dating as like I'm
looking for my best friend, somebody that I can trust,
and you don't even know if you could trust somebody
after a month. In the meantime, just enjoy yourself, go out,
don't feel pressure to do anything that you don't want
to do, and don't pressure yourself to feel like time
is limited. You have plenty of time, and you're gonna
end up kissing a lot of frogs before you find

(27:10):
your prints.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
Oh thank you.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
It's grinder a good place to find somebody to like,
be serious with or is it really just kind of
a hookup site too.

Speaker 11 (27:19):
It's a hookup site, but kind of where I live
in New York, no one is gay Son the only
place to find gay people.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
Okay, I just think there are a lot of events
and things like that.

Speaker 4 (27:30):
Maybe you need to be out mingling too, because there's
definitely events that specifically, like, you know it's going to
be a gay crowd in there, so you know it's
going to be people that you know you have an
opportunity to that are out. Because you also don't want
somebody that's closeted. And it feels like the guy you
linked up with he wasn't quite sure what it.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
Is that he wanted to do. Oh yeah, that's true,
And I have no problem with being intentional on what
it is that I want.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
You want a man, but I also think that you
got to make sure you're with somebody that is not
going to be like, oh, I can't let anybody know
about us.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
Oh, you got to you gotta do this. You want
somebody that's comfortable with who they are. That's true. All right, well, Robbie,
good luck, Okay.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
Thank you.

Speaker 11 (28:06):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
No problem.

Speaker 4 (28:09):
All right, Well that was ask ye eight hundred and
two nine two fifty one fifty. In case you couldn't
get through, you can leave a message and we'll answer
your question that way as well. And when we come back,
we have Josh Pelly joining us. He's a mentalist, he's
a magician. A lot of this is gonna be visual,
but we did do something specifically so you can follow
along as you're listening, so make sure you guys also
check it out on the way up with e page.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
But Josh Pele when we come back, it's way up.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
This is way up with Angela.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
Let's go.

Speaker 10 (28:35):
You are a media maven, right, you never know what
Andre's gonna say.

Speaker 1 (28:40):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (28:40):
Its way up with Angela, yee, And Josh Pelly is here.
Josh Pelly Magic is here with us today.

Speaker 13 (28:46):
Thank you for having me. I'm super excited to be here.

Speaker 4 (28:48):
I have seen you all over the place, and just
for people who are listening, like we've seen you just recently.
Jayden Smith, you did his party, You've done magic for
a fifty cent which you can't mess that up. Ja Bobbin,
Mike Using can't mess that up either, French Montana, Tiffany Hattis, Maya,
just all of our favorite celebrities. So kudos to you
for everything that you've been doing.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 13 (29:09):
I mean, they're no Angela Yee, but they're out there.
You know, maybe they'll get there, the credentials are coming.
It's just awesome to be able to do what I do, perform,
you know, make moments for people.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
And you're also a mentalist, So can you explain for
people listening you're not just a magician, you're a mentalist.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
What is a mentalist?

Speaker 13 (29:26):
Mentalism? The easiest way to explain it would be the
magic of the mind. So it's a type of magic,
but it's more heavily on less necessarily skill based slight
hand which it does include. But now I'm also adding
in a lot of body language psychology, right trying to
get you to think one way or another, or trying
to see how you're thinking, and incorporating all those features,
so cognitive psychology, human behavior, different biases that there are,

(29:49):
and just a little of everything there. So it's very
more psychological based. It's a lot harder when something is psychological.
You don't have a guarantee that'll work, versus with some
magic tricks. It's kind of if you do the move.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
It's visuals, it'll work.

Speaker 4 (30:01):
Right now, I'm talking to magician and mentalist Josh Pele.
I know people probably ask you this all the time,
but like, what are some memorable experiences that you had,
because you've done a lot of private events, some.

Speaker 13 (30:13):
Moments to stick out to me. Jaden Smith the first
time I've did it two birthdays of his performing for
you stead out, which is fun. Come on, Well, well
it did because of the timing because randomly i'd done
Mano before and when I saw you guys talk about
me the next week. That was just a cool thing
to like just randomly wake up to you like like
a lot of my friends love you. And I had
people like from high school, like I haven't talked to

(30:33):
them in years. I haven't really seen them in high
school and they're like Angela, yeez, saying that's insane. And
I'm getting text from like high school people because angelaie
like you be like my magic, and I was like,
that's just a cool thing, Like I I haven't had anyone.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
I didn't have anyone.

Speaker 13 (30:47):
I don't think I've had anyone from high school text
me about any of the other names like that. So
that's a unique one.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
It's a random like we're talking about.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (30:54):
Another one would be Saquon Barkley's huge right now. I
have a video of him saying Josh is the best
magician there is. That's right after I did a trick
for him and his mother.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
That's why them other magicians don't like you.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
I don't know if they've seen that quick yet, but
that one was good because it was. It was a
great trick.

Speaker 13 (31:09):
It's one of my best ones. I think it gets
a really powerful impact. And I did it for his
mother and he literally stood up and ran, like he
walked away and then he came back.

Speaker 4 (31:19):
Yes, guys, Josh Pele magician and mentalist is here. If
you don't know what a mentalist is, when we come back,
you're gonna find out because he's actually going to do
some mental referee to me.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
All right, So you get to see what that's all about.
It's way up.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
Yeah, yeah, more way up with now.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
Is what's up?

Speaker 4 (31:39):
His way up with Angela Yee and I am talking
to magician and mentalists and maybe you can do this too,
maybe not. But here's Josh Pele. So I know we're
on the radio, so we want to make sure that
there's some things we can do that are visual. But
I want to do something also that people listening can
follow along.

Speaker 9 (31:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (31:54):
Absolutely, we're going to get into a little mind reading mentalist.

Speaker 12 (31:58):
Okay, and the word like this not many people do,
but I do have what women want an envelope that
I brought today and for the people that can't see,
I'm gonna literally dictate.

Speaker 13 (32:08):
It's a white envelope that says gift and this is
literally a gift for you. And sometimes when we're doing
mind read it, we want to set that tome, we
want to set that imagery up. So everything I'm gonna
be saying a lot of people can at least picture.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
At a home.

Speaker 13 (32:19):
They don't need to necessarily be in the room with us.
So I want you to imagine you're gonna go to
look at daily Test like a grocery store can you
imagine yourself driving to that grocery store.

Speaker 3 (32:27):
Okay, you park your.

Speaker 13 (32:28):
Car, you go into that grocery store, and you're you're
shopping around and you're buying maybe food that you like,
maybe things that you have on your list, maybe things
you want to try, something new. And then you're gonna
go to the candy section and you don't feel like
cook user chocolate. You want like some kind of candy.
And I want you to visualize as you're looking at
that aisle buying an item. Can you see that aisle?

Speaker 3 (32:50):
Okay?

Speaker 13 (32:51):
Gotcha? And you remember that item? M M okay, and
you're gonna pick it up and you're gonna buy it. Okay.
Now what I'm gonna have you do. I'm gonna have
you close your eyes from I'm like, so want you
to visual So I'm going to take out the gifts
so she doesn't see. And you picked up that item
on account of three, You're going to open your eyes
and say that item that you bought okay, okay, one.

Speaker 3 (33:10):
Two, three's gummy cluster.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
To everyone back home.

Speaker 13 (33:16):
I have these m and ms. These m and ms
are for you in a moment. Now, do you remember
your other gift?

Speaker 1 (33:24):
You have a gift.

Speaker 13 (33:24):
Yes, yes, there's one more gift for the audience back home.
Angela picked another gift to add on to the gummy clusters.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
And what was the gift?

Speaker 3 (33:31):
I think it was sweetish fish?

Speaker 13 (33:32):
Could you cut your hands for me? Do you like
eminems though?

Speaker 9 (33:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 13 (33:35):
What I'm gonna do, I'm going to rip the m
and ms and I'm going to pour in the sweetish
fish that are in the m and ms for those
back home who had sweetish fishin the m and ms.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
Can I eat these?

Speaker 4 (33:48):
Yes, it's an Eminem's package. But when he opened it,
all the sweetish fish poured out. And before we started,
you asked me to choose a number.

Speaker 13 (33:57):
I choose a random list of.

Speaker 4 (33:59):
Random number and the number I chose was sixty three
and that was a completely random number.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
And it says sweetest fish next to that number. And
here they are.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
They're fresh too, and nice and chewing and not the
still tasting ones. That's amazing. I'm not gonna lie, don't
because I was like it's not looking good.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
Thank you, thank you well, thank you so much. And
how can people follow you?

Speaker 1 (34:20):
You can find me.
