Speaker 1 (00:00):
Everybody listen, y y y y y ye is what
you all been waiting.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Fok oh, you're tapped in the way up with Angela ye.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
All right, his way up at Angela yee and Happy Friday.
It has been a wild week, all kinds of unexpected news.
But yes, it's been a busy week. We have some
more updates for you guys about this gambling scandal today
in the NBA with the mafia and all of that.
From what we know thus far, so far, thirty four
(00:30):
people arrested and some people are not believing that this
is possible, and so we'll give you the details that
we do know. Also, Nicole Michel is going to be
joining us, and if you don't know who she is,
she is a breast cancer survivor. But what's unusual is
that she found out when she was twenty six years
(00:51):
old and had a double misectomy, and she has a
story that she needs to tell. And then I'm sure
if anybody can relate to this, they're going to be
really interested in hearing what she has to say. But
it's also a wake up call for everybody to make
sure we take care of ourselves. All right, Well, let's
get the show started with some love and some positivity. Man,
I got to shine a light on somebody that I
(01:12):
read about. I read this story on the Grio and
this young lady has invented something that I cannot wait
to try.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
We'll talk about it.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Let's shine a light eight hundred two ninety two fifty
one fifty. Let us know who you want to shine
a light on? His way up, don't I'm shin.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
I'ma shin.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
Turn your lights on, y'all lights spreading love to those
who are doing greatness.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Shine a light on them, Shine a light on them.
It's time to shine a light on them.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Yes, it's way up at Angela Yain, It's time to
shine a light and listen up. I want to shine
a light on these two black Harvard alumni. They have
invented a hair braiding robot that could be a game
changer for a lot of us that get braids all
the time. Yanka Ogan Bee and David Afolabi took home
the seventy five thousand prize in this category. They won
(02:02):
the President's Innovation Challenge Award And basically this is what
Halo Braid.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Their invention does. Imagine if every time you got your haircut.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
It took six hours, cost two to three hundred dollars,
and gave your hairstyless arthritis at age twenty nine.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
This is what it's like to get your hair braided.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
Hair Brading is now the most popular hairstyle for twenty
million Americans.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
That's why we're.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
Building Halo Braid, the first patent pending hair breeding robot
that saves time for stylists and their clients. Stylists start
the braid, Halo finishes it, and we reduce breeding time
from hours to minutes.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
It's going to be at five times the speed so
you can expand your business, and it is hard on
people's hands and also using the products and touching the
braid and all of that. I've seen people's hands all
messed up. So I love that She's going to be
opening up us a salon in Boston to test all
of this out.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Now, Danielle, who do you want to shine a light on.
Speaker 6 (02:58):
I would like to turin at all myself because I
had started a water drive in Nashville with my church
and it's basically where I go spread love in Nashville
and donate water to local band program. So far, I
did a more school, and I've donated a forty bottle
of water to eat pancases of forty bottles of water
(03:19):
to each school.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Oh that's amazing. I love that. That's great. Things that
we need you.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
What made you decide to do that?
Speaker 6 (03:26):
Well, honestly because I listened to your show on the
way to school every morning, and you're always talking about positivity.
But you're all the way in New York, and I thought, well,
let me spread some positivity down here in Nashville.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
That made me feel so good. Thank you so much.
I love that. Thank you, No problem, sum me up.
All right, He's not that bad.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
He did just say hi to you in his own way.
All right, all right, thank.
Speaker 7 (03:50):
You, well problem, thank you?
Speaker 3 (03:52):
Well.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
That would shine a light eight hundred and two ninety
two fifty one fifty Just in case you couldn't get through,
you can always leave a message and shine a light
that way. And when we come back, let's talk about
Kim Kardashian. She has a big announcement. And in addition
to that, let's talk about Love Is Blind Denver. If
you've been watching that show, they have actually made history
(04:13):
this last season.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
We'll tell you why.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
It's way up, going way with Angela yee.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
All right, and Love is Blind. Denver has made history
after the season finale. This is a bit of a
spoiler alert in case you don't watch the show, but
this is the first time ever and people have said
for a long time that Denver struggles with their dating scene.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
That nobody is together at the end of the season.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
They're the first city featured on the show to have
zero couples together, according to Vulture. And so if you
haven't been watching it, it's still entertaining to see what's
going to happen. But they're talking about it everywhere now,
So sorry if you haven't seen it, but you know,
get with it, guys, all right. And Kim Kardashian is
saying she will be a qualified attorney in two weeks
time and that she really wants to be a trial
(05:01):
lawyer now. She shared her plans during her appearance on
the Graham Norton show That's Today, and she said she'll
get her bar exam results within the next two weeks.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
She said maybe in.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Ten years, I think I'll give up being Kim Kay
and be a trial lawyer. That's what I really want.
She has a few projects coming up. She filmed her
first movie in January. We're hoping for a season two
of All's Fair. She said, I always want to be growing,
curious and evolving, and I want to see where that
takes me. So imagine hiring Kim Kardashian as your lawyer.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
H Nick, you're looking crazy. You do that?
Speaker 8 (05:33):
Oh, definitely, world, I think I should win instantly.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Why it's Kim Kardashian.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
That's the silly type of thinking that gets people locked
up for life.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
I just want to move.
Speaker 8 (05:45):
I didn't say I'm smart.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Okay, all right, Well, good luck to you, sir, and
hopefully nothing happens. Now let's talk about Nightcap, Ocho Sinko
and and Shannon's Sharp. Shannon's Sharp wanted to thank Oto
Senko for really sticking by his side during a rough time.
And I want to say, we don't even talk about
this whole Shannon Sharp case anymore. Like that whole situation
(06:07):
he settled, you know, the accusations against him. He just
kept going business as usual. I don't know behind the
scenes if this has had an effect on the money
that he brings in, you know, for other things and opportunities.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
But here's what he had to say.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
I appreciate you, o Jobe, you like hey, when you
take me uncle, I'm with you. Whatever we got to
go through, we going through it. You ain't by yourself
to the wheels fall off. There are so many people. Oh,
Joe and Joe where I'm going. That used to call,
that used to text. Yeah, I ain't heard from him
since this happening.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
I can imagine, though people be on you, and when
they think it's about to be.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
Over for you, they ignore you.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
All right, Well that is your Yet when we come back,
we have about last night where we discussed what we
did last night. Navy and I were at an event
last night. Navy is Nick by the way. He was
DJing and I was. It was at my coffee shop.
But I'll tell you about the artists who actually did
a Q and A and performance. He's pretty amazing. It's
way up.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
So about last night, Yes, I went down.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
All right, his way up at the Angela Yee, I'm
here and Navy's here, sir. So last night we both
were at the same event, and this was at my
coffee shop cup but alg Smith had an intimate event
to celebrate the release of his EP Love Lost, and
he actually performed a few songs acoustic with Jess the
guitar Electric Electric.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Okay, they called it.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
An acoustic performance. Yeah, but anyway, it was a beautiful event.
And I do want to say if you don't know
who alg Smith is, he played Ralph Treesban in the
New Edition movie. He was in the movie Detroit. He's
on Euphoria. He's in a new sports drama. So he's
been in New York filming. It's a fight movie. It's
(07:55):
called Fight for eighty four, I think, and so he's
one of the boxers. So he's been training for boxing
and doing all of that. But in the midst of that,
yesterday he had a discussion about his Love Lost EP
and there were certain things that they talked about last
night as men because they were like, they don't and
the host of it was Jojo brimm and he was saying,
(08:16):
you know, we don't want this to be about toxic masculinity.
But they were just being really honest about getting over
a breakup, very vulnerable, being vulnerable. Algie Smith was talking
about a breakup that was his fault and the things
that he did that kind of ruined the relationships.
Speaker 8 (08:32):
Direct quote he said, I'm trying to get under someone
to get over someone else.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Yes, And that's and he was saying a lot of
men do that. Right when you break up, You go
to district club, you're throwing money, you messing with other women.
I do feel the difference between men and women in
a breakup is usually that women take more time to
get over things, and men try to move on like quicker,
and they try to immediately like go out with their friends,
get fed up, go you know, date, women sleep with women,
(08:58):
while women might be like trying. We're with our friends,
we do a girl's trip, we eat, pray, love, and
that way we're more healed. Not not saying that across
the board, but I do think that's a difference of
how people get over things. And then men circle back
because they never really truly scabbed up, you know.
Speaker 8 (09:16):
They always come back.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
They always come.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Back, all right, Well, anyway, along those notes tell us
a secret. Maybe there's something that you had going on
when y'all had a little breakup that you've never told anybody.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Maybe you went through a little whole phase when that happened.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
And you've never shared that with anyone eight hundred nine
two fifty one fifty is a number. Remember this is
a no judgment zone, but we still want it to
be juicy.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
You're anonymous. Call us up and tell us a secret.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
The number again is eight hundred two nine two fifty
one fifty. Tell us a secret, make it good, make
a juicy eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty.
Speaker 9 (09:49):
Tell us your darkest secret. Call eight hundred two nine
two fifty one fifty. This is way up with Angela
yee yo ya. This is a that's free zone. Tell
us a secret.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Woo baby, it's way up at Angela yee. It's a Friday.
I feel like I swayed the people calling in today.
But today eight hundred and two ninety two fifty one fifty.
You are anonymous. It's a no judgment zone.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
What's aup? Anonymous?
Speaker 9 (10:14):
Call it?
Speaker 3 (10:14):
What's your secret?
Speaker 10 (10:15):
I really tell you a story.
Speaker 7 (10:17):
Okay, by acted me so bad.
Speaker 11 (10:19):
After five years, she cheated on me with a guy
with a kid, then.
Speaker 10 (10:24):
She found out she had a he had a kid,
and then tried to come back.
Speaker 7 (10:28):
And now I can't even look at women the family anymore.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
Ooh, well, you have one bad experience. I said, it's
not across the board. So what does that mean for
you in relationships now?
Speaker 7 (10:38):
Honestly, now ever since then, I've just been using hings,
just been doing my thing with the girls and not it.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
You gotta do and and move on.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
You haven't fallen for anybody.
Speaker 8 (10:48):
I can't.
Speaker 10 (10:49):
I just can't seem to talk to something. My god,
after that, how did you find.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Out what happened with your ex?
Speaker 11 (10:53):
Like?
Speaker 3 (10:53):
How did you even know?
Speaker 11 (10:54):
So?
Speaker 10 (10:55):
She actually posted our Facebook with the kid after we
broke up.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
Dang, So she had been doing that.
Speaker 10 (11:03):
He's been doing that, That's what I'm saying after five
years two.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
Well, I'm sorry this happened to you, but thank you
for sharing with us. But I do hope that you.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
Don't let her have the power to not let you
move on, because that means she still has power over you.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Ooh, you are right, all right? Good luck? Hey naamis color?
How are you?
Speaker 7 (11:21):
I'm doing well?
Speaker 6 (11:22):
How are you?
Speaker 3 (11:22):
I'm great? Thank you? You want to tell us a secret?
Speaker 7 (11:24):
Lets so, last year of my ex girlfriend cheat on
me and I was so heartbroken and I don't really
like guys like that, but I love her that with
a guy, and I had a baby like a revenge baby.
I wanted to getting pregnant. Oh my god, and so
so now me and the guy are together, but I
drunk called my ex girlfriend the other night because I
(11:45):
really want to be back with her. But I can't
be with her anymore because I had a baby.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Dang, you made a permanent decision.
Speaker 7 (11:53):
Off my feelings.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
But I'm sure I love you.
Speaker 7 (11:56):
I do love my baby. She is like the best
thing that ever happened to me.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
I can't live so aside from everything else and all
the other the other drama that you had.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Would you cheat though, No, because.
Speaker 7 (12:07):
I don't really like that. That's so bad. I know
how I feel, so I'm not.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
So are you now only with men? Like that's it?
You're back with men?
Speaker 11 (12:16):
No?
Speaker 7 (12:16):
If me and him broke up, I will forgive me
another girlfriend.
Speaker 10 (12:19):
Who was that too?
Speaker 3 (12:20):
Is that is that what you want?
Speaker 4 (12:22):
I don't know?
Speaker 3 (12:23):
All right, Well, good luck. At least you got a
beautiful baby out of it.
Speaker 7 (12:26):
I do thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
Thanks for calling, hanging out him his color? How you
doing all of well?
Speaker 10 (12:31):
How you doing?
Speaker 2 (12:33):
I thank you?
Speaker 3 (12:34):
You want to tell us a secret?
Speaker 6 (12:36):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Secret?
Speaker 10 (12:38):
I mean, it's just all right?
Speaker 12 (12:39):
So what happened?
Speaker 10 (12:40):
Was I was with my y'all say for fourteen years,
but you know I proposed her three years ago. Break up,
you know, go together, break up on and off again.
While we broke up, my cousin hit me up and
ask because he had sex with my eggs. I said,
if she lets you do it, go right?
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Ahare you got it?
Speaker 10 (12:56):
Why does girl have sex when my cousin ain't got pregnant?
Speaker 3 (12:59):
What what you said? Go ahead?
Speaker 12 (13:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (13:02):
I did give them no okay, you know which.
Speaker 7 (13:03):
I wasn't mad her.
Speaker 10 (13:05):
Uh, let's just let me know she's that much more.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Okay, So you're mad at her even though you gave
the go ahead to your cousin, is your cousin still
with her?
Speaker 6 (13:14):
With her?
Speaker 10 (13:16):
So me and her, it was like the top your
relationship because you know, when you break up, I'm done
with you blocking each other, calling each other block. She
was like she wanted to get back together, and I
was like, I'm not gonna get with you. You got
a baby and she ended up having a miscarriage. So
that was the only way we got back together.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
So you did get back together, we are not We
did get back together, but we are not together, all right.
So you did give it another chance. So why did
y'all break three years ago?
Speaker 2 (13:44):
She ended up?
Speaker 10 (13:45):
I'm working two four time job, you know, trying to
get provider. We got kids and all and everything. Why
did this woman sit to put cheat on me today
before Mother's Day?
Speaker 3 (13:52):
All right, well that was the end of it. You
miss her? No he okay, Well, thank you for that
advice for everybody listening.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
For sure, that was tell us a secret eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty In case you couldn't
get through, leave a message and tell your secret that way.
When we come back, we have your yee tee, and
let's start talking about these alleged gambling schemes. We told
you there's been thirty four people arrested so far. We'll
give you the details that we know. It's way up.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
Sure, she's about to blow the lead above this spot.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
Let's get it, oh Angelus building at yeezee, come and
get to see.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
It's way up at Angela yee.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
And yes, it is time for your yet and we're
going to talk about this gambling probe that has everybody
shook right now, something we all did not expect. Portland
Trail Blazer's head coach and Basketball Hall of Famer Chauncy Billips,
alongside Terry Rosier, who's a Miami Heat guard, and Damon Jones,
who is a former NBA player, are among thirty four
(14:51):
people who have been indicted in connection with two separate
federal gambling investigations.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
Just to be clear, these are two separate things. So
what are they each accused of?
Speaker 1 (15:02):
Well, and by the way, Chauncey Billups coached the Chilblazes
opening game on Wednesday night and then was arrested in
Portland Thursday morning, you think maybe you think there's a
reason why they waited for that type of timing, Like, oh, they.
Speaker 8 (15:15):
Definitely wanted to get the coverage of the opening of
NBA season to get all the attention on it.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Definitely Now later on yesterday, that's when Rosier was arrested
in Orlando. Both are going to be arraigned, by the way,
in Brooklyn at a later date. And the scheme that
Phillips is being charged with is basically luring people into
participate in rigged poker games.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
That's when they have the.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Opportunity to play alongside him as well as Jones, who
we also told you was arrested, and they said they
would use their so called face card to attract the
quote unquote fish to underground games in Miami, New York, Vegas,
and the Hamptons that they had no chance of winning.
There were allegedly rigged card shuffling machines, pokerchip trays, and
(15:58):
even special content lenses or eyeglasses that could read pre
marked cards. In some instances, they had X ray tables
that revealed cards when they are placed face down. So
that's what he's being charged with, and he is not
charged in the indictment of Terry Rozier that's centered on
sports betting. So according to this indictment, they're saying that
(16:20):
basically they would tip off some of their co conspirators
about who was not going to be playing. Also, according
to the indictment, Damon Jones, who was a friend of Lebron'
because Lebron's name came up in this, tried to get
some non public information and would sell that non public
information so that other people could bet on it. And
(16:41):
so it would be like who's not playing, or somebody's
gonna get out of the game, or just things like
that that they had information. Now, a league source with
knowledge of the situation. Told The Athletic that Lebron was
unaware that Damon Jones was sharing any information about his
playing status, so while he may have things, he's not
the person being charged.
Speaker 8 (17:02):
Also for context, the term face card is a cold
word for retired NBA players.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
I read in the article all right, well, a lot
of people are weighing in on this. Here's what Shack
had to say.
Speaker 12 (17:13):
I'm ashamed that those guys will put their families and
their careers in jeopardy like that. There's old saying in
the hood. All money ain't good money. So if you're
making nine million dollars and you're dealing a certain thing
like how much, how much more do you need?
Speaker 1 (17:27):
You know, gambling is an addiction, though it's not always
about just the money. It's the That's why it's an addiction.
But that is your Yet, when we come back, we
have under the radar. These are the stories that necessarily
in the headlines. They're flying under the radar, but we
got it for you. You need to know it's way
up the news.
Speaker 12 (17:44):
News.
Speaker 4 (17:45):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
All right, it's way up with angela ye and it's
time to go under the radar. Man.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
Now.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
I saw this on the Neighborhood Talk, and then I
had to go and do a deep dive. Donald Trump
hosted a round table and he had law enforcement and
administration officials yesterday talking about the successes of the Homeland
Security Task Forces.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
I mean, we've seen all the things that they've.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
Been doing, just rounding up people of color, and he's
calling that successes. But he's talking about doing something that's
been unprecedented. Here is what he had to say when
talking about criminal cartel's foreign gangs.
Speaker 8 (18:23):
Why not just ask for a declaration of war?
Speaker 12 (18:25):
Well, I don't think we're going to necessarily ask for
a declaration of war.
Speaker 6 (18:29):
I think we're just going to kill people that are
bringing drugs into our country.
Speaker 10 (18:34):
Okay, we're going to kill them.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
You know, they're going to be like dead.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
Okay that I don't know if anybody in the room
also thought that that sounded crazy and that sounded an alarm.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
But imagine your president.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Or whoever is working for him, feels like somebody is
a cartel member, even if they don't know for sure
that they are, they can just kill them and then
they can paint this narrative that this person was a
cartel member.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
What did you think when you heard this? Navy?
Speaker 8 (19:05):
It's concerning to me because it's like where does the criteria,
Where does the slope end?
Speaker 3 (19:10):
Where is due process?
Speaker 12 (19:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (19:12):
Where is like making sure that you know?
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Because this is just giving people power to kill people
on site because you feel that they're.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
Doing human trafficking or they're a member of a cartel.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
And I don't know, but I also know that there
are people who are fleeing places because they are being
forced to do things that they don't want.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
To do by the cartel.
Speaker 8 (19:31):
And where does it stop?
Speaker 3 (19:33):
And so sometimes these people are also victim.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
You don't even know the full story on when you
see somebody, So you can't just kill people, Like what
is this becoming? And the fact that anyone is okay
with this is wild to me. But anyway, that is
your president, and this is the creation of the Homeland
Security Task Forces that he established his first day back
in office via executive order. It's called protecting the American
(19:58):
People from invasion.
Speaker 3 (19:59):
That's an of that.
Speaker 1 (20:01):
All right, well, that is your under the radar. Now
we have the way up mix at the top of
the hour, Plus we have Nicole McHale.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
Joining us now. She has just an amazing story of resilience.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
She at the age of twenty six of twenty six,
was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to have a
double missectomy, and she has, I mean, just agreed to
be really transparent. She put up a post that went
viral and that's when she was able to really tell
her story. So we want to make sure that she
has an opportunity to tell it here. October is also
(20:33):
Breast cancer Awareness Month, so we can all make a difference.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
It's way up, ask me what I got.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
The Way Up mix kicks off at the top of
the hour on Way Up with Angela. Yee, way up.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
She's like the talk like they Angela Jean like they
Angela Jean Man.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
She's spilling it all. This is yeat way up.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
All right, It's way up with Angela ye and it's
time for your yet. So Warren d was recently on
clubs I Love Me Some Warranty Too. He had a
great conversation and one of the things that he talked
about was that he thinks that jay Z should help
out Damon Dash.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Here's what he said, If I was in jay z
position he a billionaires. If I was a being there,
I'd be like, look take this, you know now.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
If you lose that, then something man you on your own, yeah,
will take this?
Speaker 10 (21:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (21:25):
And you know.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
Dame Desh has been saying that he feels like the
people that he helped fed him over. He said he
wished he had an Eminem or a doctor Dre who
could have prevented him from getting black balled. In this conversation,
he also talked about going on vacation with doctor Jery,
the private jet, how everything was all laid out. He
talked about his wife and how being together for so
long has kept and grounded how they make their marriage work.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
So definitely, I'm less watch all right.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
Barack and Michelle Obama have gotten some backlash because recently
they were on Steven Spielberg's two hundred and fifty million
dollars super yacht in Portofino, Italy, and according to the
Inner That they think that's irresponsible because of what these
super yachts do to the climate. They're saying that the
ultra wealthy, carbon heavy leisure habits are just frustrating and
(22:11):
that private jets and super yachts account for a disproportionate
share of global pollution, and that comes from the top
one percent.
Speaker 3 (22:18):
I'm doing my part, y'all. I took the train today, Okay,
I have nothing to worry about.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
By the way, who here if you got invited on
a super yacht, would not go y'all would okay?
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Yeah, there's no morals in this room. Mike could be.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
Jordan is in talks to start in Miami Vice as
Ricardo Tubbs, so we'll see if that happens. But they
did first reveal this back in April, that there was
going to be a Miami Vice that set for August sixth,
twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
Any of y'all old enough to know what Miami Vice is,
you do? Okay? Good?
Speaker 1 (22:47):
Also, Johnny Depp is going to be starring in Ebenezer
at Christmas Carol at Paramount Pictures. That's not going to
be out for quite some time, though, not until November thirteenth,
twenty twenty six, if that deal. But you know, Christmas
Carol is one of the greatest Christmas stories ever. All right, Well,
that is your yet when we come back, it's also
our Friday. There's some new music out today. I cannot
(23:11):
wait to talk about it. It's actually a great day
for music. People like Leon Thomas, Halle Belly have new
albums out today. Mc miller has an anniversary edition album out.
Can't wait to talk about it. It's way Up.
Speaker 4 (23:23):
This is fresh out in the studio five. It's New
Music Friday, A Way Up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
What's up his way up at the Angela Yee. And
you know what day?
Speaker 1 (23:32):
It is our favorite day, New music Friday. All right,
so we have a loaded day today. Dave the Boy
who played the Harp is out today. That's a full album.
Mac Miller good Am tenth anniversary edition album is out today.
Miguel has a new album out today. It's also his birthday,
his fortieth birthday, and the album is called Chaos. This
(23:54):
is his fifth studio album, eight years after War and
Leisure came out. Also, our guy, Leon Thomas has an
EP out today. It's called Folks and here is his
single My Muse. Hit Boy and Alchemists have an album out.
It's called Goldfish. Hallie Belly has a new album out today.
It's called Love or something like It with some great features.
By the way, all fifteen tracks have all women collaborations
(24:16):
like Chloe of Course, Glorrilla, Her and there's themes of heartbreak,
self discovery. It is her most personal work yet and
her first full length project since dropping Angel back in
twenty twenty three.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
Here is Bite Your Lip Now.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
As far as singles, Megan Thee Stallion has a lover
girl and she is a lover girl. We've been seeing
her out in about with her Man Klay Thompson also
t Grizzly and Rod Wave a new single called Voicemail.
Speaker 3 (24:40):
Tyler has a new single out today called Chanelle.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
This is the one I guess that Young Miami was
beefing about and Lobby Boys featuring Lola Brook New York Weekend.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
You know what it is?
Speaker 1 (24:49):
All right, Well that's your new music. Make sure you listen.
Hit us up, let us know what you're loving and
what you're maybe not loving at Way up with Ye
and when we come back, we have asked ye eight
hundred to nine to fifty one fifty any question you have.
Speaker 3 (25:02):
Of course we got you. We're here to help you.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
Way up with Angela Yee, let's go go Yeah, but
you can't go to your friends and family for advice.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
She got you called eight hundred two ninety two fifty
one fifty and ask ye.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
Here I go gay everybody since, whether it's relationship or
career advice, Angela's dropping facts.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
You should know. This is ask ye.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
What's up?
Speaker 1 (25:23):
His way up with Angela Yee? I'm Angela Yee and
it's time for ask ye. Eight hundred and two ninety
two fifty one fifty is a number. If you have
any questions, I'm here to help you, and today I
have Tiffany on the line.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
What's up, Tiffany?
Speaker 11 (25:35):
Hey?
Speaker 3 (25:36):
Are you? I'm good? Thank you? How you feeling?
Speaker 11 (25:39):
I'm so okay a little conflicted, but I'm okay, all right,
I'm here for it.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
What's your question?
Speaker 11 (25:44):
All right?
Speaker 12 (25:45):
Ye?
Speaker 11 (25:45):
So I had a best friend of ten years and
recently I found out that you've been cheating on her fiancee.
Now we all are friends, we've been in college, okay,
And I feel good ahead because he's a really really
great guy, like he does so much for her. Again,
I'm friends with the both of them, and I feel
like I should say something to him, but I don't
(26:06):
want to win their marriage for their potential marrids, So like,
what do I do?
Speaker 1 (26:12):
I think all you can do in a situation like
that is say something to her about it, about are
you sure you want to get married? You're cheating on him.
I'm not comfortable with this. I'm friends with both of you,
and if you plan to tell him, you should tell
her that.
Speaker 11 (26:27):
Okay, Yeah, I think I'm going to tell him because
I don't like the way she's treating him. We had
a conversation already and she says she's going to stop,
but she hasn't.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
So I'm going to tell him, and you know, be
prepared for the fact that maybe they're still going to
get married. I don't know if you have some evidence,
because she could deny it. If she's still going to
keep on doing it anyway and convince him that it's
not true.
Speaker 3 (26:51):
And so just be prepared that this is definitely going
to affect your friendships. But you have you know, you
have to know that.
Speaker 11 (26:58):
Yeah, you know what, Thank you so much for that,
because again, I think that's a character flaw. And I'm
prepared to leave her as a friend. Okay, maybe me
and him.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
Today because what if she denies it.
Speaker 11 (27:08):
No, we talked through text, she has we have text messages.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Okay, all right, Well, that's what I want to make
sure that you're protected in the situation, because he could
still say all right, and they could go through it,
and they could still end up getting married, and then
she could say I don't want you to be friends
with her either.
Speaker 11 (27:25):
Now that's true, but she can't deny these text messages,
so I'm ready.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
All right.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
Well, there you have it, Tiffany. It sounds like you
already knew what she was about to do.
Speaker 11 (27:34):
So yeah, I did, but I wanted your advice.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
Okay, that's it. I'm glad you got all your basis covers,
you got the messages.
Speaker 11 (27:41):
You know.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
As a rule for me, I try not to get
involved with things like that. But marriage is a big deal.
And you already told her and confronted her about it,
and your friends with both of them, and you let her.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
Know, and she's still being deceitful.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
And my whole thing is when people are cheating and
they get caught, don't be mad at the person that's told.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
Be mad at yourself.
Speaker 11 (27:59):
Be mad yourself. And again, we are all friends. We
all went to cause together and grew up together, hang out.
So she's putting me.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
In a really bad position, right if she wanted to
cheat and be low. You shouldn't have been involved, like
to know about it.
Speaker 11 (28:11):
Okay, period, thank you?
Speaker 1 (28:14):
All right, no problem, Tiffany, see y'all better step shet
out there. Well that was asked, ye eight hundred and
two ninety two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through,
you could leave a message and ask your question that way.
And when we come back, Nicole Micheale is going to
be joining us.
Speaker 11 (28:28):
You know.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
It is Breast cancer Awareness a month. She is a survivor.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
She found out at the age of twenty six and
went through a lot mentally and physically.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
We'll talk to her about it. It's way up, yah,
it's gonna turn me up. Here we go upgain.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
This is way up with Angela. Ye.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
What's up? It's way up with Angela yee.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
And today we have an amazing special conversation with an
amazing special young woman, Nicole michel Thank you for joining
us today.
Speaker 13 (28:53):
Thanks for having me.
Speaker 3 (28:54):
The honor is mine.
Speaker 10 (28:56):
Now.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
You are an entrepreneur, but I feel like you're entrepreneur spirit.
A lot of that came from things that you've been
through in your life and in particular. First, we want
to talk about breast cancer because you were actually diagnosed
with breast cancer at a really young age.
Speaker 13 (29:12):
Yeah, I was diagnosed at twenty six, and I went
against the textbook, no doctor whatever tell me like, hey,
you know you're twenty six, now do your self breast exam.
It was me just putting lotion on, too much lotion,
and I was like, where else can I rub myself?
So I rubbed my breast.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
That's fine, titty you go ahead, you say, Okay, I
rub my titties.
Speaker 13 (29:30):
And I think that like if my hands weren't lubricated
from the lotion, I don't think that I would have
been able to feel the tumor underneath. And initially I
ran down to my mom and I was like, I
feel something. But when you're twenty six, it's like it's
probably just close to your period. You know, this happens,
your breast will form these little lumps, but it's nothing
to be worried about. And because I know in my
(29:52):
family history of my mom having breast cancer, I was
always like aware of my body, especially my breast, and
so oh, I just trusted my gut and I was like,
let me just get this checked out just in case.
And like with my luck, it ended up being breast cancer.
The doctors told me, you know, the shape of it
is not suspicious. The size of it is really small,
(30:12):
like it's nothing to be concerned about. Cancer isn't an
option for you because you're.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
Young, even though they knew about your family history.
Speaker 13 (30:19):
Okay, And so I did the lump back to me,
and even when the breast on colla just removed the mass,
she still gave me the green light, like, Wow, the
shape of it isn't suspicious. I'm not worried. Cancer isn't
an option for.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
You, okay, just because of your age, because of my age.
Speaker 13 (30:34):
A week later, I went in for my follow up appointment,
which was just to make sure that the incision was healing,
and it was. Everything was fine. But that day I
knew when the doctor came in that like if she
had blinked a couple more times, the tears would start
coming out of her eyes because her eyes were filled
with water, because she had to go back on her
word and say, hey, actually pathology came back as stage
one breast cancer. And in that moment I would have
(30:57):
thought I'd be like dramatic and crying and over the top,
but I kind of was numb to it, and I
was like, okay, like what's the plan?
Speaker 3 (31:03):
Like what do I do next? Like what what do
I do?
Speaker 13 (31:06):
And so two weeks later, I went in for a
double misseectomy and I didn't have any time to think
about it.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
Okay, I was going to ask you, did they recommend
it or was that something that you said, I'm going
to get a double misseectomy just to always on the
side of caution.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
You had to do it.
Speaker 13 (31:20):
You had had breast cancer.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Okay, Nicole, I do want to commend you for really
advocating for yourself and being proactive. Because most people are
in their twenties, let alone even my age, they're not
being really proactive about going to the doc door.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
I felt a lump.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
Well, even though everyone keeps telling me it's nothing, let
me go get it checked out, like all of those things,
with so many people reassuring you thinking about your age,
you were definitely proactive and making sure that you took
the steps that you needed to take, just or on
the side of question, right, I was.
Speaker 13 (31:50):
Like advocating for myself at one point, and even if
I had like called a breast center and said, hey,
I found a lump I want to do a mammogram,
They're not going to give me that appointment because your
breasts are too set twenty six, so like that's another
miscusting even but there's breast ultrasound like I talked about
that's super painless. It's no different than when you're pregnant.
The same jelly stame machine like easy Breezy, and then
(32:11):
a breast MRI with contrast is like the most effective.
But with mammograms, especially for younger women, it's not affected
because your brun's breasts are too dense and so it
won't pick up.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
On it sometimes, Nicole, were you in a relationship during
this time?
Speaker 13 (32:25):
So when I was going through this, I wasn't in
a relationship, and I was cool with it. When I
was going through this and summer body changing, I was like,
you know what, I'm just going to be single forever.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
Like this is it.
Speaker 13 (32:36):
I don't want to have that conversation with any man
to be like, you know, I have scars or I
don't have a nipple, and I have nipple reconstruction in
a tattoo. So I was cool with being single. My
business was booming, I was happy, I was healthy. I
wasn't looking or anything.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
How many surgeries did you have?
Speaker 13 (32:53):
I had seven in one year.
Speaker 3 (32:54):
Seven surgeries in one year.
Speaker 13 (32:56):
Yeah, But back to your original questions. So I did
end up meeting somebody expectedly, and then like the biggest
plot twist is that like we're next door neighbors.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 13 (33:05):
And so then like when I did meet him, I
never had to have that conversation of like, hey, I
had cancer and you know whatever, because he had heard
about the girl next door who just beat cancer. But
I think he had like a vision of what I
would look like, because usually when people think of cancer,
they think of somebody.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
Bald and like no lashes or brows.
Speaker 13 (33:28):
Or hair or anything, so like, and I didn't look sick,
and I think that's like the biggest That's why I
want to have this conversation to kind of reconstruct the
stereotype of breast cancer, because they feel like it's considered
a older woman's disease and people think you're supposed to
look a certain way. But cancer doesn't discriminate you can
no one's invincible. It can happen to anyone. And so
(33:49):
I did end up dating, thank God, because he definitely
served his purpose in my life post cancer, and he
definitely healed me in a way that like nobody else could.
I would lock the door taking a shower, like changing
my clothes, and it got to a point He's like,
why do you.
Speaker 3 (34:05):
Keep locking the door?
Speaker 13 (34:07):
And so when I told him he couldn't have handled
it any better, he didn't care. He wasn't phazed by
my scars, and he's like.
Speaker 6 (34:14):
I love them.
Speaker 13 (34:15):
And he really pointed my recovery like where I didn't
finish reconstruction on the nipple. He could have easily been like,
this is a little too much for me to look at, like,
you know, maybe keep the lights off for a little
bit or anything.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
But he he loved it.
Speaker 13 (34:28):
He loved it, thank God, or else I would be
in therapy for a whole other reason.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
I bet a whole lot of guys watching this right
now we'd love it too. Yeah. What is the difference now?
Speaker 1 (34:37):
We talked about this before we started the conversation on air,
the difference between reconstruction and cosmetic.
Speaker 13 (34:45):
So when you have an augmentation, they're opening you up
and popping in an implant. Done with reconstruction, you are
essentially getting amputated from the inside out. So I don't
have any breast tissue. It's just skin and implant. So
when you just skin implant, there's other things that pop
up where you'll have like indentation because there's no my
(35:05):
breast tissue. So then I had to do This is
gonna sound light bo because I'm not overweight, but like
I had to do light bo not because I'm like, oh,
let me lose some weight. It's because I needed though
fat to put in the empty pockets. And then like
even with the nipple, when they gave me my first nipple,
that nipple was gangster.
Speaker 11 (35:24):
It was like in a cure shape.
Speaker 13 (35:26):
That nipple was not correct at all.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
And so I can see you're starting a gigster nipple.
Speaker 13 (35:32):
Maybe Yeah, somebody out there has to have like a
nipple fetish or stars or whatever.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
All right, well, normally you would have last word when
we come back. Instead, Nicole Michale is going to have
the last word. She is a breast cancer survivor, and
she not only has survived, but she's also telling her
story spreading awareness. It's Breast cancer Awareness Month. Now tell
me about the Michale battle.
Speaker 13 (35:54):
So I think right before we started this, you had
as if insurance had covered my surgery, but while I
was recovering, I started making these little, like succulent arrangements
that I was planting inside of crystals. And it was
a complete hobby. It was just like a thank you
gift for anyone that would come to the house, just
to say like here, I made this for you. And
it was also keeping me sane because I couldn't do
(36:16):
anything like raise my arms or you know, just simple
tasks like pumping down on a soap dispenser. I couldn't
do because I would have hurt my chest, Like how
long A long time, I would say, like a year,
Like raising my arms I had to wear like zip
up jackets or something really oversized where you wouldn't have
to raise my arms.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
Because things we would never think about, you'll never think.
Speaker 13 (36:38):
About, like I didn't know how much you use your
chest until you go do something and you're like, wait.
Speaker 3 (36:42):
A second, that doesn't feel right, or that that hurt.
Speaker 13 (36:45):
And so I started making these arrangements and then some
when this girl that I ended to become friends with, Jen,
she posted my crystals and I didn't even have a
name for the company. I didn't know how to ship these,
like this was a complete hobby. This was just for
like friends and family, and it ended up blowing up
and Chloe Kardashian had asked for crystals, and so I
(37:09):
dropped off like fourteen crystals for all of them, from
Chris to all her kids to her grandkids, like everybody
had a set of crystals. And I was so grateful
that they were even interested. I was like, okay, I
must be you know, this might be cool. I've gone
used to looking at these, but they like them. So
I dropped them off to Chloe's and they didn't think
anything of it. I was like, well, I'm not expecting
her to post because I can't afford her, like they're
(37:32):
to pay that No, But the fact that they even
wanted my crystals was good enough for me. I wasn't
you know, I wasn't tripping on a post. And then
two weeks later, like the night before my surgery, was
Tuesday morning, the night before my surgery, she randomly posted
me and it was like a monochromatic tag, like really
small in the corner. But her fans are so loyal
(37:54):
that they found me, and in that twenty four hours
that I was up on her page, she completely sold
me out and answered all my prayers. She really blessed
me because like, reconstructive surgeries are a lot more expensive
than augmentation because, like I said, augmentation, you're just popping
an implant, but with reconstruction, you're actually reconstructing.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
And insurance does not cover that, does not cover it.
That's wild to me.
Speaker 13 (38:16):
I was considered elective and cosmetics, so they covered the
double missectomy. But then when Chloe posted me and sold
me out, I was like, God, bless her for life
because she covered my surgery, the surgery before, and the
surgery before. But again, I like leaned on my friends
and I pulled through. But just to go off to
say that, like, you know, be kind to people.
Speaker 1 (38:38):
You don't know where somebody's going going through, Nicole macau
How can people find you if they want to reach
out book you?
Speaker 3 (38:44):
Perhaps?
Speaker 13 (38:45):
I guess just on social media. I'm Nicole McHale on
all platforms, so I guess slide in the DM not
that way. What do they want like my email address?
Speaker 1 (38:54):
No, that's fine, social media, that's fine. What about if
they do want to ask you out that too?
Speaker 3 (38:58):
No, I'm not trying. That's when somebody.
Speaker 1 (39:03):
Okay, well, Thank you so much, Nicole Michel for joining us.
You can watch that pull and if you on my
YouTube channel Way Up with Ye. She's beautiful to look

Going Way Up with Angela Yee
