of the only shoot they had with the self timer

(02:20):
in the backyard.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
But she did say it's beautiful because it's ours.

That was Shina Light eight hundred and two nine two
fifty one fifty. Just in case you couldn't get through,
you could leave a message in China light that way.
Yet when we come back and let's discuss Tamar Braxton,
she revealed that she almost died and we'll give you
the details that we know. It's way up, it says
in the rooms from industry shade.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
To all of gosp out send Angela's spiling that EyeT, it's.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Way up with Angela. Yee, I'm here, Jasmine brand is here.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
I'm not just any brand on my own brand.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Mayno's here, no mane. All right, let's get into this, ye. So,
Tamar Braxton revealed that she almost died and it was
a couple of days ago. She went on her Instagram
stories yesterday and said that she suffered from a terrifying accident.
She said, I can't even really talk anymore.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
I'm so weak. I almost died Sunday.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
I was found in a pool of blood from my
friend with a face injury. As the days go by,
the worst it is. I fractured my nose, lost some
teeth and mobility. The way I look at life now
is totally different. As my health is on the mend,
my mental journey begins. Pray for me for real. I
don't even know what happened.

Speaker 12 (04:30):
To me.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Okay, yeah, I don't know what happened to her either,
but there was a.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Lot of people in her comments, you know, offering prayers
and love. That is a scary thing. She posted, thank
you God for waking me up today.

Speaker 7 (04:42):
Can I just say, when you share information like this, I.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Want to know more. I'm concerned.

Speaker 7 (04:45):
Now she don't even know, well, say, I'm confused.

Speaker 11 (04:48):
I just I want to her fans want to know
what happened, honestly, So I'm so confused.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
She said, I don't even know what happened to me,
so maybe she's still trying to figure out what it is.
I also think that when something like that happens, it
takes you a moment to process yourself. Then you share,
and maybe this is also going to help other people
like that have been through it that can explain like
maybe you fainted, maybe this happened, Well, this happened to
me also.

Speaker 11 (05:08):
You know what, You're right, she could have fainted. Yeah,
it could have been any Yeah she could have fainted, Yeah,
it could have been anything. So you know, my prayers
are with her because that's scary. So let's see when
she finds out. You know, I'm Su'll tell I'm sure
she'll tell us more at some point, but I'll be
wanted on now.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Yeah, I'm sure she does too, more than anybody, all right.

Speaker 13 (05:27):
Now.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Gilbertarinus gave some advice to Anthony Edwards. He was recently
on a podcast We said what We Said, and he
thinks that Anthony Edwards needs to pay Ayisha Howard like
ten to twenty million dollars because she is ruining his
image if he wants to be the face of the
NBA every time something happens, if he drops fifty in
a game, Yeah, and then she does a post.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
That's what the real story is. Here's what he said.

Speaker 13 (05:51):
Anytime you get ready to blow up and be a
part of America's face, this woman can dirty it up
a foul in the court case, I have one of
those pregnant where your name and image and likeness is
never safe. You will literally have to pay her to
stand down and go away. And that's the thing you're
gonna have to do. You're gonna have to give this

(06:12):
woman ten twenty million dollars to go away. Man.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Listen, I want to say. The truth is, yes, he
does a lot of things. He donated some shoes to kids,
in Houston back to school.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
People don't talk about that, but nobody talks about.

Speaker 11 (06:24):
But do sports fans really care about It's not it's
lost as shock value honestly because we keep hearing about
her and them about her.

Speaker 7 (06:31):
Yeah, I don't think people don't.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
I also think paying her ten to twenty million dollars.
He also has other children too, yeah, and other mothers.
And then that's kind of like, oh she got that, yeah,
and get that. Well, let me go on ahead and
start doing my own thing too and.

Speaker 7 (06:44):
Coming because it's working.

Speaker 5 (06:45):
Yeah, so yeah, that's not gonna work.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
He touch the situation.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
But I also want to say there is an actual
human being involved that is innocently here and has nothing
to do with all this drama. And that's something that
later on in life you'll have to account for, no
matter what. Right, So, no child wants to hear or
see later on that you were awful to his mother.

Speaker 7 (07:05):
Yeah, you're right, You're absolutely right, and.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
People need to think about that.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
All right, Well that is your Yet when we come
back about last night, where we discussed what we did
last night, I became a mom of like twelve about it.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
So about last night, Yes, I went.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
Down it's way up at Angela. Yeah, I'm here, Jasmine
brand is here, Mayno's here, No mana, welcome back from
Mayo Day.

Speaker 5 (07:30):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Just the appreciation for everyone else had a chance to
come out.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
It's beautiful, it's huge.

Speaker 7 (07:36):
That's a big deal.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Indeed, to be back outside next year, that's right. Peaceful,
good times, great vibes, great vibes.

Speaker 7 (07:44):
Anywys did you meet a wife there?

Speaker 9 (07:46):
No?

Speaker 3 (07:46):
Ok, all right, well yesterday I actually have decided and
I've been thinking about this. I wanted to get plants
in my house, like to just you know, it's better
for your breathing.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Plants are really great for getting rid of dust.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
They even have plants to eat but ug up so
that you don't have yet there's like flies.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Yeah, that family. So plant Topia.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Somebody, Christian from plant Tobia reached out to me and
they actually bought a whole bunch of plants over They
said them about side of my house, and then I
got to pick and you know, put different ones inside
the house.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
That was my thing.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
I was trying to order plants online first, and I
just didn't know what to do because you also have
to think about the maintenance of it.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
You don't want to kill the plans.

Speaker 7 (08:25):
And you've you've known to kill a plant or two.
I've known.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
But sometimes it's also where you buy the plants from,
because it's someone else for okay, go ahead. Well no,
it's the fact if you don't buy plants that are
in great condition, that are healthy and taken care of,
they're going to die right away. And if people don't know,
some plants need a lot of lights. Some plants don't
because it could burn the leaves.

Speaker 5 (08:42):
You got to know the exact plant.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
You got to know how much to water it.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
You can't overwater it. You know, there's a lot of
different things. It's not easy, and every plant is different.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
Certain you don't have the water every day.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
Yeah, some of them you order you water like every
couple of months.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
I have.

Speaker 7 (08:55):
I have plants that you only put two ice cubes
in once a week.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
Really.

Speaker 6 (08:58):
Yeah, when you you safe, though, when you leave a
lot of times, leave me the keys our warrior punts.

Speaker 7 (09:04):
But you're officially now a plant mom.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
I got a bunch of plants. I have to get
nice planters, so I need help with that. But anyway,
that was my yesterday. So I think I'm gonna be
breathing better from now on. I even put plants in
my bathroom, which I've always wanted.

Speaker 7 (09:18):
To tea that yet Okay, they look really good though,
Thank you?

Does he ever frequent strip clubs?

Speaker 11 (10:53):
Is there a chance that he's gonna accidentally see you
one night before you tell him?

Speaker 10 (10:57):
No, I'm twenty eight and he's forty.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
To be honest, I think he knows. You think he

Since I hate to tell you think that, how do
you think he's going to react when you tell him

Speaker 10 (11:32):
I really don't know. But you know, when we first

he don't want girls that acts like wore.

Speaker 15 (11:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (11:42):
Yeah, listen, you gotta be with somebody that you can
be your true self with. If you gotta turn yourself
down and be other than who you are, then that's
not the person for you.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
Be who you are.

Speaker 7 (11:53):
You're going to him gonna make your life.

strippers over there.

Speaker 10 (12:35):
Yeah, y'all, that's my deep secret.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
That's a good one.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
All right, thanks for calling, and.

Speaker 10 (12:38):
I hope you don't know my boy, Oh my.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
God, he already knows you're a stripper. But okay, thank you,
thank you by paying out him his color.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
How you feeling you want to tell me? Mano and
Jasmine a secret?

Speaker 9 (12:54):
So that's when I was in middle school. My teacher
she had like lizards, we will play with it. But
I forgot to put the clock back on the lizard.

Speaker 10 (13:03):
No, and then it got out, and then she was
an She was like, everybody's out about it, but I
never said nothing.

Speaker 9 (13:12):
You still don't know it was neat to this day.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
Did they get the listen back?

Speaker 9 (13:17):
Oh no, we never still find the list.

Speaker 5 (13:19):
Oh no, so foud that that is the foundest thing
I've heard.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
Oh my gosh, that is hard.

Speaker 9 (13:26):
I couldn't say, because she was with everybody. I was like,
you know me already know I'm done for it.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
I would have been like, you know, we have cameras
and see everything, so I would rather not have to
check the cameras.

Speaker 7 (13:40):
And they never found the lizard either.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
That's ky so messed up found the lizard in life.

Speaker 9 (13:46):
After that, we never got another class sick.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
I bet all right, thank you for calling.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
All right, well that was tell us a secret. Eight
hundred and two nine two fifty one fifty. This is
your show, so you can always call and leave a
secret for last word. And when we come back, ye
tea time. And Paul Pierce says, for the guys out there, mane,
are you listening. Don't get you at ten, Get you
a five or a six. We'll discuss you said. That's right,
it's way at a five.

Speaker 8 (14:12):
Yo.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
She's about to blow the lid ab off this five.
Let's get it. Angelus feeling that yee tea, Come and
get your tea.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
Sweay, y'all put angela yee. I'm here, Jasmine brand is here.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
I'm not just any brand on my own brand.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
Mano's here right right, you know. And let's get into
this yet. So Paul Pierce was on his Truth after
Dark podcast and he gave some advice on whom men
should be looking to settle down with.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Here's what he said.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
You men who go.

Speaker 14 (14:39):
Out there and put your elbow into making a woman,
make sure she's straight, and you really on the grind.
Leave these little pretty girls along. Bro over there looking
at oh she bad. Oh she a non she, I'll
get you a five or six who's gonna put some
elbow into it. Ain't gonna be down for you. They
gonna look at you like why he with her? Don't
worry about while with her, cause she's gonna do everything

(15:00):
you ain't doing.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
Oh why does it automatically mean that if you're a
five or six that you're going to do all the
things that a ten wouldn't do.

Speaker 7 (15:07):
Because you do you will.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
I don't know that that's true.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
There's people who are and this is all subjective by
the way, right, just because that you could still be
just as bad as somebody, and somebody could be a
ten and also amazing.

Speaker 11 (15:18):
I think the advice that he's giving should also women
should take that advice too. Don't get you a super
fine dude, because.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
How about don't pay attention to what somebody looks about?

Speaker 3 (15:26):
And just angelo great they treat you Aelo, please when
you're looking for your.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
Wife, man, no, what are you thinking?

Speaker 5 (15:33):
I might change minds up though to what you know.
I was going for tens.

Speaker 7 (15:38):
Before, okay, and you now you ought to go for twenties.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
All right, and now let's move on.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Monique was recently on Outlaws with TS Madison her podcast,
and she is talking about Tyler Perry and she discussed
how he needs to take accountability for messing with her livelihood.

Speaker 15 (15:58):
Here's what she said, Tyler Perry to lie on me,
and that lie costs me twelve years of my career.
And until he fixes it, I will not stop. You
publicly shamed me, So now you have to publicly fix it.
Either you'll fix it in life or you'll be dealt
with in death. It's totally up to you. But I'm
not going nowhere, Oprah. I'm not going anywhere.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
She also named Lee Daniels, who publicly apologized to her
in twenty twenty two. Okay, how does Tyler Perry quote fix.

Speaker 5 (16:26):
It, apologize or publicly said?

Speaker 11 (16:29):
You know what I thought was most funny out of
this is CS Madison is sitting there looking so uncomfortable
because that's her boss.

Speaker 7 (16:34):
Cala Perry's her boss, right, and Monique is just dragging
this man. And she's sitting there like, I don't say you,
I don't know. How can she fix it? Though?

Speaker 3 (16:42):
You think just a public apology is enough or is it?
I got to get you some work or.

Speaker 7 (16:46):
Give me some work that would be a good apology
for me. Right.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
In addition to that, she also said that Oprah had
a God complex and that she wanted the shackles off
of her. Listen, she is like, she's not letting up forever.
So yes, you can watch that full interview. She also
compared Tyler Perry and Harvey Weinstein.

Speaker 11 (17:06):
Oh, okay, all right, okay, because of what because the
controversy that Tyler Perry has with the legendary sexually assault
the okay you said, for what I'm telling.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
And lastly, La Reid is going to be going to
trial without a lawyer. His lawyers withdrew from his sexual
assault case and during a recent hearing, you know this
is against well Drew Dixon's against him, they said that
he'd be preceding pro say that means without an attorney
after granting his lawyer's request to withdraw. According to the firm,

(17:37):
they said, he hasn't paid them since February. So he
does have to appear in court if he does not
secure a new council before the September eighth trial.

Speaker 7 (17:45):
So you're saying he may represent himself.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
He may represent himself. I don't know how effective I
would never do that for myself. That has been in
the past for people that is your Yet, when we
come back under the radar, Target, the CEO is stepping down.
Numbers are down incredibly. How can they fix it? It's
way up the news.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar and they are.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
It's way up at Angela Yee manos here, Jasmine brand
is here. Yes, let's go under the radar. The CEO
of Target, Brian Cornell, is stepping down. He's been there
for eleven years.

Speaker 8 (18:22):
You know.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
Sales are down ridiculously right now.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
Shares fell ten percent in pre market trading yesterday, and
their stock is among the worst performing companies in the
S and P five hundred this year.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Wow, So this boycott is absolutely no joke.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
After they've stepped away from DEI, I think they've done
a terrible job of just explaining what programs they do
have that still exists. Yeah, and they've kind of acted
like they thought things were passed. We'll get kas and
not to come to the store. You know, we'll still
sponsor events like Essence Festival.

Speaker 7 (18:54):
But they're not addressing your head on it all.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Yes, now he took over as in twenty fourteen, and
he is still gonna stay on as executive chairman. So
as people are saying the CEO is stepping down, he's
still an executive chairman. So I don't understand why they
think that's like a big move. It's still it still
seems pretty conservative for optics. Probably, yes, So we'll see

(19:16):
what happens with Target or TARGE.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
One thing. I will see.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
They came out of all this, a lot of small
businesses have learned how to step up other streams, like
you know, direct to consumer salespendally important. All right, Now,
China is developing a humanoid robot that has an artificial womb.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
So in other words, oh wow, artificial.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
In other words, this robot can carry well, no, it
can carry the fetus for you for nine months and
also give birth.

Speaker 7 (19:44):
Oh that's different artificial.

Speaker 3 (19:48):
They I guess they put the you know they yes,
they put the fetus in there and then it can grow.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
They'll carry it. They don't have to worry about the robot.

Speaker 5 (19:56):
You can't put the fetus in the put like the seed.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
I think once they you know, it's just kind of
kind of like IVF. But it's inside of a robot. Yeah, stimulated, Yeah,
and then.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
You put it back in.

Speaker 7 (20:10):
It seems like it's not price too high either.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Thirteen thousand, seven hundred dollars.

Speaker 5 (20:13):
That ain't bad.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
You know, some people are like talking about a violation
of human ethics. They're saying, where's the mother in this picture?
But some people are like, this is great. Now women
don't have to suffer through pregnancy, and they think the
price is worth it and this is a great breakthrough.

Speaker 5 (20:26):
So what's next is that you will actually have sex with.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
You can now, Yeah, but you can get into that now.

Speaker 7 (20:34):
You cannot get a robot.

Speaker 5 (20:35):
That's what's coming. They if they can hold a baby.

Speaker 3 (20:39):
Like that is yeah, soon enough, watch and then we
won't need all because maybe we can put semen inside
of a male robot.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
All right, Well, that you're under the radar.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
It's a wealth Wednesday. Cheryl, my kids are going to
be joining us. Her book is out, The Black Family
Who Built America. She's got a fascinating story, five generations
of developing over six thousand, pretty six thousand churches.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
It's way up.

Speaker 4 (21:04):
She's like to talk like they angela Jean, like they
Angela Jee and.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
She's spilling it off. This is ye t.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
Way, what's up?

Speaker 3 (21:14):
His way up at Angela, Yee, I'm here, Jasmine Brand
is here, what's up?

Speaker 2 (21:18):
Maino's here right, and let's get into it.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
So ye tea time, Big Ex The Plug sat down
with the New York Times podcast and he talked about
fatherhood but also raising his six year old son, who
is autistic.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
Here's what he said.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
Our biggest year maybe rapping.

Speaker 8 (21:33):
I found out the same year that my son as
he went from being very verbal to just start deteriorating,
like he stopped talking, me not being there, especially when
I tell my son, you'll never not see me a
day of your life. I don't even like talking about
it and take a lot out of me because it's
like but it's like I'm doing it for him man.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
And I know we've been talking about this, Jasmine, because
your daughter also.

Speaker 7 (21:55):
She's autistic autistic.

Speaker 11 (21:56):
I really appreciate him talking about it because I feel
like for some parents it's like embarrassing or you don't
want to, you know, share like some personal Yeah.

Speaker 7 (22:03):
I like that he was so vulnerable and you know,
express how he felt.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
And we talked about this too. Artistic kids that the
smartest kids.

Speaker 7 (22:09):
In the way are smart as hell, too.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
Smart all right now, Fat Joe recently was on his
Joe and Data podcast and he talked about the fact
that he does love Gunner's album, but he's torn about it.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Here's what he said.

Speaker 16 (22:22):
I get a phone call for somebody who says, yo, man,
you gotta check this album. Ever since I assumed you
were right, I'm off you and I hit on the plane.
I listened to this album. This album was so good.
I was so guilty of this. I listened to this
album mistake.

Speaker 5 (22:37):
You know you're talking about gun I get what he's saying.

Speaker 6 (22:40):
I mean, how you felt like Marvels is for like
you know, how to standing on principle don't tell nobody.
But then at the same time, you know you're trying
to separate that from liking somebody's music.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
Yeah, the art from the man, how do you feel
about that, Jasmine, Because you know, there's certain artists that
we don't maybe.

Speaker 11 (22:58):
Listen to listen there's certain artists I just don't care
for it that I won't listen to. But it's not
because of their allegedly snitches. But it's just like I
just don't like them as a person, so I'm cool
on them.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
All right now, money Long Speaking of music, she has
apologized to Life Jennings over her joke about must be nice.
She had posted maturities, realizing Life Jennings is really a
Hayden asked, ninja must be nice as crazy now you know.
Life Jennings did not like that, and if you know
Life Jennings, go back and listen to his Lift Service podcast.
But he did not play. You don't want to be

(23:27):
called no hater. He don't want nobody saying nothing like
that to him. He responded, what I do to money Long,
It's Sunday man damn. And then money long says, so
you wasn't hating and then she put a laughing face,
don't lie. And he did not like that. He said,
you know, you leave a message doubling down on your post.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
She did apologize, but he.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
Went and remixed money longs made for me. Here's what
that sounds like. Try now, what do you think.

Speaker 7 (24:07):
I like what he is remaking?

Speaker 5 (24:08):
Killed it?

Speaker 11 (24:09):
But also I feel like he should appreciate the fact
that she has people talking about a song that we
you know all day?

Speaker 9 (24:14):
Why?

Speaker 6 (24:14):
But why is she referring to him as a hater.
Though she's saying that that's what that song was.

Speaker 7 (24:18):
Yeah, that's what she's saying.

Speaker 11 (24:19):
I feel like that once she said it like that song,
I kind of agree with her.

Speaker 7 (24:22):
I'm but it makes us talk.

Speaker 5 (24:24):
About saying it must be nice to have these things.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
Did I never thought that, you know what she was joking.
You know, sometimes we go back and interpret songs differently.

Speaker 5 (24:34):
She's joking it so good.

Speaker 7 (24:35):
But I appreciate the fact that we're talking about this
song again.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
All right, well that is your yet and when we
come back, we have asked yee eight hundred to nine
two fifty one fifty any question you have these hate
and ask people right here are going to help you out.
Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
Everybody, whether it's relationship or career advice. Angela's dropping facts.

Speaker 3 (24:58):
You should know this is ask kee what's up his
way up at Angela? Ye, I'm here with Jasmine Brand
and the award winning advice giving new Meno And today
we have somebody who wants to remain anonymous on the line.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
What's your question today?

Speaker 9 (25:12):
So back in day I went on a couple of
trips to can't cooon my friend and I flew up
with a girl.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Oh wow, oh gosh, bro all that.

Speaker 9 (25:20):
Troop of his door can't cool? Things happened?

Speaker 3 (25:23):
That cheap lick left with your homeboy girl, that cheap liquor.
What's the question?

Speaker 9 (25:28):
Like, how could I move forward with the friendship? Because
I think he knows and he's been throwing starts, like
every time we hang out, like the fliminal. They invited
me to go to Bahama with them, a three week
a god trip, but I feel like it's a trip
to end me. You know.

Speaker 5 (25:42):
Oh listen, listen, my dog, my dog, listen. Is this
your friend?

Speaker 10 (25:47):
He's not like me?

Speaker 9 (25:48):
You have but that's just my.

Speaker 5 (25:50):
Little homies, Like that's my.

Speaker 7 (25:54):
Did you only have that one time?

Speaker 5 (25:55):
Dude is crazy? Man? Yeah?

Speaker 9 (25:57):
One time?

Speaker 8 (25:58):
Jazz?

Speaker 7 (25:58):
Hey, well how was this that?

Speaker 9 (26:00):
It was amazing?

Speaker 5 (26:02):
Don't do that?

Speaker 1 (26:04):
You did You did wrong.

Speaker 5 (26:05):
I'm gonna be honest with you. You did wrong because.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
You say you say it was the liquor, you were drunk.
It was all inclusive. But you remember how the sex.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
Yeah you know, let me hear him.

Speaker 9 (26:22):
Hey, she didn't want to me. We like every type
of tea take you know how girls get all giddy
and like she was a little touchy that night. So
I was like, hey, I might take my shot.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
Well I got it, Oh my gosh. So you don't
even feel bad, you're just concerned.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
You're just concerned now that they're about to offer you
so crazy they.

Speaker 9 (26:40):
Want to offer you for sure.

Speaker 13 (26:41):
Bro.

Speaker 9 (26:41):
I think she told him because he kept going to them.
He'd be like, he's just saying that, like, yeah, she's
like the seer man's girl, the man is girl.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
I was like, no, you don't even like this man.

Speaker 5 (26:54):
Right, why would you?

Speaker 6 (26:55):
Like you could have did anything else, you had to
sleep with your homeboy girl?

Speaker 5 (26:58):
Like that ain't cool.

Speaker 9 (27:00):
So they know she wanted me, he wanted me.

Speaker 6 (27:03):
If so, you sleep with every girl that wants you,
Bro and Doude, I mean I'm young.

Speaker 15 (27:07):
I mean.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
If I were you, I would stay away from that
whole crew because you don't know when that carmeen coming
back to.

Speaker 9 (27:13):
You, right, So, like, just don't walk with him at all,
none of them.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Yeah, you don't even like him, and they definitely don't
like you.

Speaker 5 (27:19):
You definitely don't like him.

Speaker 11 (27:22):
I can't believe that he doesn't say anything to you though.
What kind of dude is not going to say something
to their friend.

Speaker 5 (27:27):
What kind of dude to sleep with his book?

Speaker 4 (27:28):
You're right?

Speaker 2 (27:29):
Are you still dealing with her?

Speaker 9 (27:30):
No?

Speaker 2 (27:31):
No, no, no, I'm not would you?

Speaker 8 (27:33):
Uh?

Speaker 9 (27:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (27:36):
All comes okay, morls, All right, well, thank you for calling,
and don't go on that trip. Listen, don't go and
get a new group of friends and be a better friend.

Speaker 9 (27:45):
Hey, and I can think them may know when the
new lot before his project coming.

Speaker 5 (27:48):
Out next week?

Speaker 9 (27:49):
All right man?

Speaker 3 (27:51):
Yeah, him and his boys like you and Jim Jones,
good luck, thank you, thank you. Well that was ask
ye eight hundred and two niney two fifty one to fifty.
If you couldn't get through, you could always leave a
message and ask a question that way. And when we
come back, Scheryl mckisick Daniel is going to be joining us.

(28:12):
She's the president and CEO of Meckisic and Ckisic that's
a design and construction company. She's fifth generation beautiful when
it comes to this company and her book, The Black
Family Who Built America is out.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
Now.

Speaker 17 (28:23):
I've had a dream of wealthy and I don't mind
sharing my wealth dogs getting you straight financially, mentally and physically.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
This is Wealth Wednesday on Way Up with Angela Ye.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
What's up? His Way Up with Angela Yee, and Cheryl McKissick.

Speaker 3 (28:36):
Daniel is here with me, you know her as the
CEO of Meckisic Emchisic.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
Thank you for joining me today.

Speaker 7 (28:42):
I'm so excited to be here with you.

Speaker 5 (28:44):
Angela.

Speaker 2 (28:44):
I'm excited to have you.

Speaker 3 (28:46):
You have a book out right now, and I read
this whole book, The Black Family Who Built America. You know,
real estate is fascinating to me, but even from the
development side, I love the way that you're able to
tell this story and it gave me like such a
nice inside view on the work that you've done.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
So how do you feel now that the book is out?

Speaker 12 (29:04):
I feel like I have finally accomplished something I've been
working on for over twenty years, to get this story
out because so many people just don't know who the
Mechusics are, and so many people don't even think about
who built the structure that they're sitting in right now,
or that they go through on a regular basis, you know,
even just the train stations in Manhattan, or the airports

(29:28):
or the schools, universities.

Speaker 5 (29:30):
People don't ever think about.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Well, who built this, or that a black woman could
be behind that, a.

Speaker 12 (29:34):
Black woman could be behind it.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
Yeah, you are a fifth generation business, which is such
a rarity. And as I'm reading this, I'm just thinking, like, Man,
if I would have been exposed to certain things at
a younger age, maybe I would have wanted to be
a developer or an architect if that was something that
I had known when I was a kid.

Speaker 12 (29:53):
Well, that's true, and that's another thing that this book
is doing is letting other people know that this is
an option as far as a career path and an industry.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
Right now, I'm talking to the CEO and president of
mckisic and MCKISIC, Sarah mcizick.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
Daniel.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
One of your first big projects in New York was
the rail system for the Barclays. That wasn't initially what
you were going after. No, talk about that a little bit.

Speaker 12 (30:15):
We fit much better being the contractor or the construction
manager for the actual arena, but that portion of work
had already been given away to another firm, and so
we were offered to do the construction management to.

Speaker 7 (30:31):
Move the rail. Well, we didn't have one rail project
under our belt.

Speaker 5 (30:36):
At the time.

Speaker 12 (30:37):
But that's the nature of how you can begin to
start a whole nother division in your company if you're
willing to take the risk and do the hard work
to get it done. And so when they offered that piece,
I said, absolutely take it. And so when I got
those plans, I just began to reach out to my

(30:58):
network to find out who could help me on this project.
And you know, they called up my good friend Jim
McKenna like as a reference, like do you know this woman,
and he was like, oh, yeah, definitely hire her.

Speaker 5 (31:11):
She'll get it done, you know.

Speaker 7 (31:13):
So you know, those are.

Speaker 12 (31:14):
The type of relationships that we need. When someone's saying
something really good about you, when you're not even in
the room, you're not even thinking about it. Those are
the type sponsors we really need. And one thing led
to the next, just going to every meeting that I could,
especially when the client is there, and if the client
put out they had a problem, then right away I'm

(31:35):
the one who's going to solve.

Speaker 18 (31:36):
It, right, And that's the energy people need. That's the
energy people need, and people need their problems solved. You know,
you get so comfortable sometimes in your position and who
you are and what you've accomplished and your you know,
experiences that you forget to say, I'm here, I'll do
whatever you need me to do.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Right shoe m kisick Daniels here right now, President and
CEO mckisic and mcisics. She has more than thirty years
of experience when it comes to the construction industry. It's
the oldest black owned construction company in the United States.
We have more when we come back. It's way up.

Speaker 17 (32:09):
And I don't mind sharing my wealth dogs getting you
straight financially, mentally and physically.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
This is wealth Wednesday on Way Up with Angela Yee?

Speaker 2 (32:17):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (32:18):
His Way Up with Angela Yee. And right now I
am talking to Cheryl mciseg Danielle. Her book The Black
Family Who Built America is out now.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Another thing that happened in this book. This was so
crazy to me.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
But meeting with the saudis, oh, automatically. You hear that
name Ben Laden, yes, and it just evokes all kinds
of emotions. Sure, and you got to have to read
the whole book to hear everything. But I just like
these little anecdotes for us.

Speaker 12 (32:46):
So I got a call from a friend who said
I have this consultant working with the Saudis.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
They want to build.

Speaker 12 (32:55):
X number of soccer stadiums and they're looking for some
American companies and they want one of those companies to
be black.

Speaker 7 (33:03):
I'm like really, so.

Speaker 12 (33:07):
I kept betting the situation and then I said, well,
you got to tell me who it is we're meeting with.

Speaker 4 (33:13):
They're like, no, matter.

Speaker 12 (33:14):
Of fact, we need for you to fly to London
and meet with him right away.

Speaker 5 (33:19):
I'm like, I need more information.

Speaker 12 (33:20):
I mean, I gotta get on a plane, and they
wouldn't tell me. It wasn't until we were in Hampshire
at the Four Seasons Hotel walking into a meeting that
they told me I was meeting with Sod Ben Lawden.

Speaker 7 (33:34):
I'm like the Ben Latton.

Speaker 5 (33:35):
Yeah, his brother. But Sad was from.

Speaker 12 (33:38):
The original family who were the largest contractors in Saudi Arabia.
Osama was from one of the concubines, so the father
had fifty some odd kids. Osama was one of them,
and so that gave me a little bit of ease.
But they turned out to be some of the most
sincere people, and I felt bad for them because Sad

(34:02):
had gone to school in Boston, and he said I
could never go back to the US.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
Right now, I'm talking to the CEO and president of
mckisic and mckisic, Cheryl mcizick Daniel. Business is business, but
are there people morally? Does that matter? Like if you're like, well, Morley,
I don't like this person's stance or things that they've done.
And I'm not talking about that case, but I just
mean in general, I'm sure have there been times when
you were torn about making decisions based off of I

(34:28):
don't know if that person aligns with what I stand for?

Speaker 12 (34:32):
Yes, and it wasn't in Sad's case. Right, You do
run across people who you can tell right away don't
have integrity. They wanted to use the mcizic name, but
only give you ten percent of the partnership, and so
that's not right either.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
What would you tell somebody who is just starting out.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
They've done the groundwork, But how do you know when
to say, Okay, I can do the ten percent because
I'm trying to build my business. Or do you need
to really walk away from certain things because you know
you want more.

Speaker 12 (35:05):
Early on, bite your tongue and take it. Because if
you don't have any revenue you don't have some business.
But then understand this takes time, but eventually you can
get to the part where you can say no to
people or you can put people in their place.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
You can say, I'm not doing that.

Speaker 12 (35:22):
And here's why. If you want to work with me,
here are my boundaries, here are my standards, and you
got to do it my way or we're not.

Speaker 5 (35:29):
Doing it at all.

Speaker 12 (35:31):
And so early on, you know, you got to do
what you have to do to generate some revenue.

Speaker 5 (35:36):
And I understand that.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
Well.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Thank you so much to Cheryl mcizick Daniel for joining
us the CEO of mckisic and mcizick. You can go
to Cheryl mcisick daniel dot com if you want to
check her out on any of these upcoming book tour dates. Again,
that is the oldest black owned construction company in the
country five generations and going on still counting. What's that
full interview on Way Up with ye And when we

(35:58):
come back, y'all have that word take up.

Speaker 16 (36:01):
The phone Tapian to get your voice heard.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
What the word he is? The last word on Way
Up with Angela Yee?

Speaker 3 (36:09):
What's up his way up at Angela Yee? I'm here,
Jasmine brand is here.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Yes, Maino's here. Oh that's right. We don't have a
little food.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
And Maino fellas leap that eighty set out to Golden
Corral for the drop off today.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
They didn't just drop off to the.

Speaker 11 (36:25):
O'mless and then they also had the mimosas and the sangria.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
We're having sanagria right now. All right, well, thank you
to Sarah mciseg daniel for joining us. The Black family
who built America is out right now. Make sure you
check out that put interview on way up with ye
and right now you guys have the last word.

Speaker 9 (36:41):
There is not me, she's my cousins here. It's out
here on her Floyd clesing and give him.

Speaker 10 (36:51):
I just wanted to sign a light on my grandson, Hayden.
He is a senior in high school. He has a
three point seven g p A.

Speaker 2 (36:59):
He is an maasslor. He's the leader of his section
in band.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
He's been invited.
