Speaker 1 (00:01):
You are not what I call it? Hey you it's
way Yep, it's me. It's Jasmine brand. I'm not just
I'm my home brand.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
When I tell you, it is a race to Angela
y Day that is happening on Saturday.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
I have been doing some all day long.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
My phone is just dealing with Angela y Day stuff,
from dealing with the artists to the vendors. It's exciting though,
right vendors. Everything is free, it is, but it's so
much work. And then also wanting to make sure that
we're promoting it, making sure timing is right. It's so
much but it's a free event.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
So always it's always a great time every year.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Listen, it is going to be so much fun. I'm excited,
you know what.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
I'm excited about what this person's been hanging out in
Brooklyn a lot lately. Sierra is going to be joining
us today aka c See her album comes out tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Okay, you never know.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
You know she got her own rum too, ten to
one rum. When we sell that in my coffee shop,
O coffee uplifts people.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Perfect.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
All right, Well, let's start the show with some love
and some positivity. Let's shine a light eight hundred two
nine two fifty one to fifty. Let us know who
you want to shine a light on?

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Its way up.

Speaker 5 (01:15):
Shine turn your lights on, y'all. It's breading love to
those who are doing greatness.

Speaker 6 (01:22):
Shine a light on, Shine a light on. It's time
to shine a light on.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
All right way Yeah, put Angela yee. I'm here, Jasmine
Brand is here. Yes, my mind is a mess right now.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
It's life going on. But today I want to shine
a light on.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Randy up here and iheard, and I just want to
thank her for all the work that she's been doing.
You know, Randy works as a sales executive here and
that is such an important job as far as like
making sure these connections are made that make the most
sense with what we do with this show. And she
works on the USBI account. And when I tell you
we've had such a great partnership with them, think about

(01:58):
how we've been at Carnival every year. How they're sponsoring
Angela Ye Day. They sponsored last year, had a sandbox
all of the things. This year we're doing a photo booth.
They also are bringing Third out to perform. Oh you
remember they'red performing out. Yes, So it's just nice when
you can have those things happening. She's always like trying
to think of ways that are really creative and outside
the box to get things done. So, Randy, I just

(02:20):
want to shine a light on you today. I appreciate
all of this work that you're doing. She's like helping me.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
She's good people too. She's a lot.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
More organized than I am too, because I know that
I could just give her something and then it gets
done and it gets done quick. All right, Well that
was my shining light. Now, alexis who do you want
to shine a light on?

Speaker 7 (02:38):
I want to sign a light on Zari on the
bag and Nicholas Miller. Okay, always des ray fuller because
they're my family and I love them and I'm the purpose.
It is my best friendgund who is that? That's men?

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Tell us why they deserve a light shine on them though,
give us some more infant mation.

Speaker 7 (03:01):
They super supportive. They make every day easy for me.
And it is just a cool guy. I'm making him
at work and now we're cool.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Wait now hold on, yeah, yeah, now you met at work.
Now you're cool. We're cool. So is that like day?

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Okay, is this new work work? Very work very just
work bay.

Speaker 7 (03:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
What goes on outside of work though, just getting messy.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Yeah, shine a light on everybody in their work bay.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
We appreciate you for calling.

Speaker 7 (03:39):
Thank you, Thank you.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Guys.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
That was Hina Light eight hundred and nine fifty fifty.
In case you couldn't get through, you could leave a
message and shine a light that way. And when we
come back, we have your yet and let's talk about boxing.
Devin Haney has some drama and it looks like Givante
Tank Davis is about to be fighting again.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
We'll talk about it.

Speaker 6 (03:57):
It's way up, sure, oft, let's get it.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
Angela's feeling that yea tea, Come and get the tea.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
It's way up at Angela. Yeah, I'm here, Jasmine Brand
is here. I'm my own brand allegedly. Manos on his
way all right. Jake Paul is supposed to be fighting
Javante Tank Davis. That's gonna happen this November in Atlanta.
It's an exhibition about on Netflix.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Okay, man. People are so upset about this.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
Why because Jake Paul is not a traditional boxer fighter.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Well no, it's also because why are they doing an
exhibition match? These type of fights that are non competitive.
It's mostly about entertainment and things like that. So I
don't know, like it's kind of a safe thing to.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Do to just make some money. Why would Tank do this?
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Maybe well for the money, Yeah, okay, yeah, I mean
I'm sure with Jake Paul it's a lot of money.
It's gonna be a state farm Marina. Like I said,
it's gonna be on Netflix.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
I'm gonna watch it. Yeah, I am too. I'm not
gonna I would go to it and watch it too.
I'm that.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Ryan Garcia went on social media and so boxing is
officially the WWE with the Javante versus Jake Paw fight.
A heavyweight is fighting a lightweight and you are supposed
to believe that it's a fair fight. If you know
anything about boxing, you can see it's a disgrace because
they wouldn't be able to fight each other. And right
with boxing now, speaking of boxing, Devin Haney is suing
the mother of his child and that's for extortion and

(05:23):
according to court records that TMZ got, he's accusing Lena
Sayed repeatedly publishing false and defamatory statements about him while
attempting to extort him with threats of reputational ruin and
loss of rights to visit his daughter. He's also accusing
her of extreme and outrageous conduct and suing for intentional
infliction of emotional distress.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
It sucks that a child is involved.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
It is so and this is his first child, so
I know he was really excited about it. Now she
says that he allegedly pushed her while nine months pregnant
because I would not give him my cell phone. His
team is saying that she fabricated these claims, and so
they have a court hearing on this restraining order also
for early next month.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
That's going to be in La. Okay. That's it.

Speaker 6 (06:09):
I know.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
Yeah, when you have a child, of all is the worst.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
I will say that if you truly believe that somebody
is doing things to ruin your reputation and making things up,
you should take them to court because I think sometimes
being more the person that initiates that type of thing
that helps you in the long run.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
If you feel like this can further cause issues, you
gotta nip it in the button. And so I want
to think twice before doing it.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
A lot of us are so hesitant and reluctant to
go that route because nobody wants to have to deal
with the legal system. But if you want to protect
yourself and think ahead to the future, that is the
best option.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Sometimes you gotta do it all right, that is your ut.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
When we come back, we have about last night where
we discussed what we had going on last night. Okay,
I worked all day and night yesterday, so we'll discuss.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Though we had a good time. Still, it's way.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
Up n so about last night, yes went down.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
It's way up at Angela. Ye, I'm here, Jasmine brand
is here. It's just I'm my own brand, and it's
time to talk about last night. But we did What
did you do last night?

Speaker 4 (07:11):
Last night?

Speaker 1 (07:11):
I did.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
I was with you and then I went to Queens
that I had dinner.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
And I don't know how you're not too tired, because
when I left work yesterday, I was exhausted. I did
not have time to go eat or anything. I went
home and literally I was on the couch. I couldn't move,
and then I took a shower and got in bed.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
It's so much work. When I do radio with you,
this is too much.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
It's too much. I'm exhausted Angela. Now, we recorded lip
Service last night.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Yes, we had two episodes, okay, and they were vastly
different from each other.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Night and Day.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
I want to talk about how diverse lip Service is
with our guests, cause first we had Kim on Yes, yes, yes, yes,
and Kim is amazing. But I also feel like there's
a different type of conversation you're gonna have with Kim
than we had with Erica Banks and Joe Montana.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
It's very different when I tell you night and Day.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
But what I love is that when I tell Erica
Banks Kim just left, she was so excited she started
singing Kim songs every one.

Speaker 8 (08:07):
I call my girlfriend Chantelle, and I said, oh, we
had Kim. Well, she starts singing She's from Detroit. You know,
Detroit loved them Kim.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
But I really did appreciate how we can tell our
conversations according to who the guest is. He has this
memoir that came out a couple of years ago, just
really fascinating.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
He's an interesting person.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Yes he is, and so yes, so get ready for
those lip Service episodes to drop. But in the meantime,
what I've been doing every single day is getting prepared
for you Day.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Okay, Angela you Day.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Is is happening on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (08:40):
It's upon us.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Look because I'm getting texts about it now.

Speaker 8 (08:43):
Is it like having a baby for the first time
or is it like having a wedding every year?

Speaker 1 (08:49):
It is like a lot of work.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
It's kind of you know how I used to do
a birthday party that is so much where it feels
like it's supposed to be fun, But when you're the
person behind the scenes, having to plan everything and make
sure everything goes right and make sure you're linking this
person with this person, that's a lot. It's a lot
things slipped through the cracks, you know. But I'm excited
for it. We'll talk about that more In case y'all
don't know about Angela ye Day, I'm gonna give yeah

(09:14):
some spielands when we come back.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
It's way up. What you want to know?

Speaker 6 (09:17):
My name way up with Angela.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
All right, it's way up with Angela Yee. Jasmine brand
is here, I'm my own brand. Oh and our guy
Maino's here, yeah, oh yeah. And guess what we all
have in common? What we're all gonna be an Angela
Yee Day yeahdayay, I'm so excited for this.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
We're coming off a mayin O Day that was last week.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
This was last weekend, and I'm gonna tell you what's
happening at the Barclay Center on Saturday, August twenty third.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
All free.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Okay, So we got free hair braiding for kids under eighteen.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Because you know, because I can't. It's back to school time. No,
not you, Jazz, not you.

Speaker 9 (09:56):
Right.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
We're also going to have a barber on site that's
going to haircut you get your haircut.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
If you want an amazing barber.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
We're also going to have different games and giveaways, different activations.
This is all sponsored by USBI where you're from, know
US Virgin Islands, your homeland. Also bask and Lather and
they're really really helping with these hair braiding and barber activations.
But also they're gonna have a ton of giveaways and
backpacks as well.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Metro Plus Health, a m a US.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Army and you know who's opening up the day, Universal Circuit.
I can't tell you. You got to be there and
I know you're so come on time. Also, Kissies kitchen,
so I know you guys want some desserts. All of
those good things. And this is all part of Planet Brooklyn.
It's the first ever two day festival that goes from

(10:50):
the Paramount to Barclays UH to BAMLN Academy of Music.
So all of that is going to be street vendors outside.
It's literally locks and blocks of festival activities. But minus
free and yours is twelve twelve to five, twelve to
five on Saturday. You know on Sunday, my show is
going to be performing. Headline is going to be there,

(11:11):
Skilly bang nice, amazing nice. But you know when we
have our day on Saturday, we'll be outside with performances
by Egyptian chronic Law. Also in the building.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
I gotta see him dancing in here now. You gotta
really get a wild to this one.

Speaker 8 (11:29):
Okay, no man no wo may also in the building
and he was there, well was it last year of
the year before the last year?

Speaker 1 (11:39):
Both years? This is my guy right here, okay.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
And shout out to DJ teen and you know he
got that new song out right now, fire shots Okay.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
I can't wait.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Also from USBI, your guy third is going to be
in the building.

Speaker 9 (11:53):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
And then Tifa who just did lip service, she's going
to be outside okay, definitely, saying Colm is going to
be there. There's a whole lot more performances as well.
Like I said, everything is free. We're gonna have a time.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Yes, we are going to have a time. I'm so excited.
I'm not joking. And you know what, let's get into
some beanie man right now.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
He actually has done ye day before he has when
we did it virtually, that was amazing for us.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
But let's hear some beanie man right now. He Dude's way.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
Up, they say, the rooms from industry shade to all
of gossip out Angelus feeling that.

Speaker 10 (12:29):
Him.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
It's way up at Angela. Ye, I'm here, Jasmine Brand, Yes,
and Mano is with me. And let's get right into
this yeat. So prosecutors are blasting Diddy's request to toss
his conviction and what they are saying, uh, they just
filed new documents yesterday. They said Diddy's motion to get

(12:51):
his conviction on two counts of the Man Act overturned
or to get a new trial.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
They're saying, no, absolutely not. They said that. Uh.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Well, Diddy's lawyers said that he made zero dollars off prostitution.
They also said Didd, he never had sex with the
male sex workers, never directly arranged for their transportation. But
federal prosecutors are saying there was plenty, plenty of evidence
to support the jury's Man Act convictions. They said Diddy
was a mastermind of all aspects of these freak offs,
and they said Diddy did not.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
He did participate, he liked to watch.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Yeah, he directed the sexual conduct between the escorts and
the victims and also can't say masturbated throughout the sexual episode.
And they said that Diddy's argument that he was more
like a porn producer protected under the First Amendment doesn't
hold water because many of these freak COFs were not recorded,
and the ones that were, he didn't give it an advanced
notice that he would be filming, so they didn't consent

(13:45):
to those recordings.

Speaker 11 (13:46):
Ah okay, that's what the prosecution was going to do.
They always going to have a contrary version of the facts.

Speaker 6 (13:53):
So they just doing what they.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
Do, right, all right.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Well, Steph Curry in the meantime, has a new role
at Google, So the company revealed that he's joining as
a new performance advisor. It's part of a long term
partnership spanning Google health, Google Pixel, and Google Cloud. He'll
work to elevate the sports and tech world by bringing
a unique perspective as a world class athlete to help
us fine tune our products, train our algorithms, and even

(14:18):
design future hardware and features.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Amazing.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
Okay, hte me doing his thing behind the scenes.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
May I love that?

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Because you also got to think about life after basketball? Yep,
you know, and he definitely is now. In the meantime,
Ayisha Curry recently did call her daddy, and she talked
about the fact that she just did not like fame
when she first started and will not first started, but
when she was with Steph Curry, because she had no
idea he would be who he is today.

Speaker 12 (14:44):
Okay, it's a double edged sword because parts of it
have afforded me doors to be open. I'm grateful for
that side of things. But on the flip side, I
in the beginning hated it so much. I like, did
not sign up for that. I also always thought, like
I didn't know that he was going to end up
playing basketball, like he said he wanted to be a

(15:05):
high school basketball coach.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Imagine still didn't his dad play ball though? Yeah, Okay,
I'm not saying and his brother, you know, yeah, okay,
all right. She also said that she personally never wanted,
you know, to never thought she was going to get
married and have kids and do all these things.

Speaker 12 (15:24):
I didn't want kids, I didn't want to get married.
I thought I was going to be career girl. And
that's it.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
And life will throw a curveble. Everything you say you
don't want is what you get. And she seems like
she's very happy though with how things have turned out.
But I can imagine if some getting used to if
you had no idea, and people used to like really.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Go in on her her alone. Now yeah, yeah, all right,
well that is your yeete.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
When we come back under the radar, these are the
stories that are not necessarily in the headlines. They're flying
under the radar, but you need to know about them.
Do you know how much the average man spends per
year when they're in a relationship. We'll tell you what
that number is looking like, but I bet you it's
more when you're not in one.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
But we're discussing this way up this in.

Speaker 6 (16:06):
The news that relates to you.

Speaker 5 (16:07):
These stories are flying under the radar, way yee.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Under the radar. Time with jazz membrands and new Mano Maya.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
All right, now we were telling you and Mana was
dying to hear this story. Studies show that men in
relationships spend an extra fifteen thousand dollars or more per
year when in a relationship.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
I can see that, and that means.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Paying for dates, helping out with bills, funding a woman's maintenance,
and things like that.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
You're fifteen k. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
I want to say though, I feel like dating multiple
women might be more expensive because people always say it's
less expensive to be in a relationship.

Speaker 11 (16:45):
You why, because you you have the option to not
do it. You can go a month or two without
really going on dates, right.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Relationship, So when you got.

Speaker 11 (16:57):
Person, you gotta meet deadlines. It's bills, it's things that
she needs. You want to help her out, you gotta
do it.

Speaker 8 (17:04):
I think when when men are dating multiple women, I
think there's probably one that they spend the most on,
and I.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
Think the rest of them kind of get the crumbs.

Speaker 11 (17:10):
Especially like when you date a lot of a lot
of a lot of ones that's like a real pretty
bum that's always big.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Wild. You don't do that.

Speaker 11 (17:22):
You absolutely had to wing mossself Wall I don't pay
bills when I'm in a relationship like those are the.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
Girls that wear crump tops and leggings all day?

Speaker 1 (17:32):
No, they be having they stuff on. They be having
it together, you know, because they used to receiving. Yeah,
some people.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
I thought that when you're settled down with somebody, you
don't have to go on these extravagant dates to impress
anybody anymore.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
You can cut down your half on them. You can
have movie night inside. But let's keep it.

Speaker 11 (17:53):
Let's keep it fresh, though, keep the energy of the
relationship fresh.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
You see what Seattle right, Let's keep it fresh.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Let's see what Sierra has to say in a minute.
But in the meantime, let's talk about this other thing.
Since we're talking about dating, I'm shrekking. It's a new
dating trend. What's that now?

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Shreking is when you date somebody that.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
You are not attracted to and the hopes that they
will treat you better in return.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
That's her, who's her? I date attractive man.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
Like people put looks lower on the list, or they
hope that attraction will grow over time, she said, But
backfires because they think that they'll be treated better.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
But sometimes those shreks. Do listen what you said? You
go ugly?

Speaker 9 (18:41):
Ugly?

Speaker 8 (18:42):
Did you just that what you said? Listen said like ugly? Man, Listen,
looks are listen, listen. Looks are not the most important
thing to me. They're c It's an added bonus. I
don't mind mediums.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
Okay, all right, well, thank you guys. That was under
the radar. I don't forget. Sierra is going to be
joining us so we can have conversations w relationships instead
of this dysfunctional bunch of here.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Okay, they know.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
Where at the top of the hour. Ncier on the
way is way up crazy.

Speaker 12 (19:11):
She's like the talk like they Angela Jean, like they
Angela Jean.

Speaker 6 (19:15):
Man, She's spilling it all. This is yeat way.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
All right, it's way yeup with Angela Yee. I'm here
and jazzmin Brand is here.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
I'm not just brand, I'm my own.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Brands in the building. No, man, now, let's get into
this yet. So Sis's album so Os has made music history.
It's the first album by a female artist has been
one hundred weeks in the top ten of the Billboard
two hundred.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
Wow. Can you believe that female artists?

Speaker 2 (19:42):
No other one and it has never fallen below the
top twenty since it was released. Wow, isn't that crazy?
I mean it was released in December of twenty twenty two.
Oh wow, yeah, I write A judge has banned DDG
and Hallie Billy from posting about each other or about
their child.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
Isn't that Well?

Speaker 4 (20:02):
Yeah, it's great content for us, but it's also not
good for the child.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
No, not at all.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
But I do think that sometimes just keep the drama
off social media. Yeah, it's traumatizing for everybody, all right now.
Jalen Brown's father was arrested for attempted murder and his
father is a former boxer Marcellus Brown. Allegedly he stabbed
a youth football coach in a dispute over a parking spot.

(20:28):
They are investigating this. This went down at All American
Park on Wednesday. Two men had a verbal altercation over
a parking space and the suspect stabbed the victim and
the stomach.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
Then the suspect fled the scene.

Speaker 2 (20:40):
The coach is rushed to a nearby hospital, requires surgery
and his condition right now is unknown. Over a parking spot, spot,
parking spot? It gets crazy right now. Sources are saying
Jayleen doesn't have a close relationship with his father and
was unaware of the arrest or of the incident.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
Jamaine Dupree has talked about how he has.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
To avoid working with Chris Brown, and he does that
on his own. He was talking to Joe Button, and
it's not like he was told not to work with
Chris Brown. It feels like he's just avoiding it out
of his own loyalty.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
Here's what he said.

Speaker 5 (21:13):
If Chris Brown calls you on some Drew Hill jagged,
are you coming to give him this lesson?

Speaker 1 (21:19):
It's dangerous.

Speaker 13 (21:19):
At this point, I don't go in the studio thinking
about let me hold this and let me keep this.
I might try to go with Chris Brown and make thriller.
Usher will hate me for I would love the work
with Chris Brown. I have worked with Chris Brown before.
But I'm just saying I have the experience of doing
this with Jack Drew.

Speaker 6 (21:38):
Hill when I know the danger in it.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
It's crazy. Do you think Usher would mind I a banger?

Speaker 9 (21:46):
Like?

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Why did you get that to him? I know I would.
I would.

Speaker 8 (21:50):
I clearly would say something. You would mind absolutely, and
I would tell because how else you gonna know if
I don't tell you, I don't I have to say.

Speaker 6 (21:59):
That you know who produced the song?

Speaker 1 (22:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (22:02):
No, no, what I'm saying, how are you gonna know?

Speaker 8 (22:04):
It would be an issue for me if I don't
tell you if i'm you know, if I'm usher, Yes,
said that.

Speaker 11 (22:09):
We didn't say it, but you know that there's some competition.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Yeah, friendly competition, all right.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
And Serena Williams did an interview with Today and revealed
that she lost thirty one pounds using weight loss medication.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Here's what she said.

Speaker 10 (22:23):
She said, I want a GLP one And for me,
it was really just about taking away that stigma of
like is it a lazy way, is it a shortcut?

Speaker 6 (22:31):
Like why would you do that?

Speaker 10 (22:32):
And so for me, like after having my first kid
with olympia, and then you know, in particular after having
a second kid, I was never able to be at
a healthy weight that I could be at, whether there's
my joints or blood sugar levels. It was just always
something that I suffered.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
With, you know, interesting conversation, especially on the hills of
all these lawsuits and things.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
Like that too. I appreciate her honesty.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
All right, Well, that is your yet and when we
come back, I mean the award winning advice giving here,
I'm here, Jasmine Brand is here. We got a whole
panel of people that can help you out. Ask yee

Speaker 7 (23:13):

Speaker 1 (23:14):
I f it's way up since.

Speaker 5 (23:16):
Whether it's relationship or career advice, Angela's dropping facts, so
you should you should know.

Speaker 6 (23:21):
This is ask gee?

Speaker 1 (23:22):
What's up? Its way up at Angela?

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Yee, I'm here, Jasmine Brand is here, Yeah, Maino's hair,
and we got gg Love on the line for ask ye,
what's up?

Speaker 1 (23:31):
Gg love?

Speaker 3 (23:32):
Hey girl, how you feeling? I'm I'm over top, I'm
a lady right now. What's up?

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Okay? We like it? So what's your what's your question? Today?

Speaker 3 (23:41):
First of all, I've been battling with the decision on
relocating to a country in Africa. I've been there three
time and I love it, okay, And I'm just tied
with America and America.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
Listen, ain't mad at too. Okay, so what do you so?
What's the question?

Speaker 3 (24:01):
Should I relocate? Should I follow mine?

Speaker 10 (24:04):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (24:05):
I'm gonna say a couple of things because I do
think if you don't need to stay here, and that
is what your passion is telling you you want to do,
you should follow that.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Okay, wait, let me let me let me also ask
this too. This is worth keeping me Like, I have
a seventeen year old daughter. You have to complete the
high school, get it. I want to wait until she at.

Speaker 7 (24:25):
Least in this high school, okay, and then go.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
But then what kind of mother would I be leaving
her when she's eighteen, when she's just not into into
the world. You know, if I've asked for to come
with me and she's like, no, I don't want to
go there.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
You know, Well, okay, responsibilities And you said you're wait
till she's out of high school.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Is she going to college or is she going to work?

Speaker 3 (24:46):
She doesn't even know. I think she's got more towards work.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
How involved is her father in her life?

Speaker 3 (24:52):
Her father passed away when she was one year old.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
Okay, but you have a good family support system here
for her?

Speaker 3 (24:59):
Well, she her adults, they're not close that they should be.
I feel like that.

Speaker 8 (25:04):
Okay, well, all things going on, all that, you know
what I'm saying, It's just.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
Well, if this is something that you want to do,
like you said, yes, you do have responsibilities here.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Timing is important.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
You can just give yourself a timeline once she's got
a job and she's situated, because moving doesn't mean y'all
not gonna ever see each other or you're not gonna
come back, or you can't come back. And maybe it's
a matter of you going and spending even a couple
of months.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
Yeah, as opposed to permanently move in there.

Speaker 3 (25:30):
Right, Well, I fantasy to go on my first month,
which is November, to say, one month and build my
client tele if you will, because I'm will start a
small business with my kids blah blah blah, and graduate
I'm gonna go back.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
I think that's a good plan because a that lets
you understand. Sometimes you go you go away for a month,
it helps you understand the things that you also have
to take care of here before you can even go overseas.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Do you have friends there?

Speaker 3 (25:57):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (25:58):
Yeah, so you sound ready and you know what you
need to do. You can start planning your move now
it's a big thing.

Speaker 4 (26:03):
And you all can always visit each other once you
move over there.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
And you can always come back. I'm excited for you.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
And now you've got some time to plan and you're
gonna have so much fun in November and get everything ready.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
It's business time.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
Thank you, love, thank you for your blessing.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
Thank you, thank you for calling, thank you all right,
Well that was ask ye eight hundred and two ninety
two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
If you couldn't get through, leave a message.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
And when we come back, the gang's all here, me, Jasmine, Mano,
and Sierra's going to be joining us.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
A new album CC is out tomorrow. It's way up.
It's gonna turn me up here we go up there.

Speaker 6 (26:38):
This is way up with Angela.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
Ye, what's up? It's way up at Angela.

Speaker 8 (26:42):
Yee.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
This is amazing.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
Jasmine brand is here, Mainno's hair is CEC's in the building.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
What's up, y'all see you? Well, let's get to what
Maino's here today. Well, yeah, because Sierra touched. Now he's
what's going on? Its planning his wedding? Hey, yeah, is
let's go Angela.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
The thing is so we know the location Okay, we
have the ring picked out. I'm the best man.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
Yeah, I'll be my best girl.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
So we have all of this plan out the way.

Speaker 4 (27:16):
This is really happening.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
Well, as soon as he finds a wife. Oh now,
just you being in.

Speaker 9 (27:23):
The room, listen, I was like, this is sounded real interesting. Okay,
what's going on?

Speaker 6 (27:28):
Man?

Speaker 4 (27:28):
Tell me the situation you're saying.

Speaker 11 (27:30):
I wanted to put the cart in front of the horse, right,
I said, you know what, I'm gonna set all these
things up and then I'm gonna find me a wife later.

Speaker 9 (27:36):
Did you really are you really doing that?

Speaker 1 (27:39):
Documented working dates in mind? We had the date he
would have been earlier. Maybe you could have found him
a life and time. He needs helping.

Speaker 9 (27:50):
We need to go backwards and we need to just
take a couple of steps back.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
Okay, we need to start from scratch.

Speaker 9 (27:58):
Okay, now listen, I the vision, the way you're trying to.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
Get to you.

Speaker 9 (28:02):
Every king deserves his queen's right. Now, we need to
understand the specifics.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
What does she look like to you? What does she
talk like to you? Are you going to be ready
for her? Is it one woman? Is it one? One?
Is it one? See? You are out of order. You
know this is, but this is what makes me ask
you this question.

Speaker 11 (28:27):
Everybody looks at you, as in your family, as being
like the epitome of a couple goals? Do you feel
pressure in that?

Speaker 1 (28:35):
I feel blessed.

Speaker 9 (28:36):
We're not perfect, you know, so I think you know
you never earlier, You're never going to put your faith
in like man like I'm just a big believer in that.
But you know, I think it's really inspiring, you know,
te people say that because I know how blessed we
feel that the love that we have, and I know
how powerful this love is.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
Right now, Jasmine brand is here, Mayno's here getting ready
for his wedding, and Sierra is here to help him out.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Her album CC is out tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
Let's not forget how people was hating at first and
now look at That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
Though at first it was like it's not and now
I remember people I don't remember that they were. They
were acting like she's not into it.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
But that's why, like you said, sometimes you have to
like block out the noise.

Speaker 7 (29:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (29:19):
No, you can't live your life for the world and
for others. You know, if you do that, you never
live I think you just have to know it's true
to you. But I was saying earlier, you know, I
think sometimes people speak about things and they haven't experienced it,
you know, or like their definition of love may look
different than what they see. So funny because if I
could think about, like how you would describe, like thinking

(29:39):
back to like, you know, the evolution of me as
a woman, and like relationships, like when you meet the
love of your life, it's supposed to feel different than
anything you've ever experienced before.

Speaker 8 (29:49):
Was it a slow burn or was it it was
automatically like, oh it.

Speaker 6 (29:52):
Was got it?

Speaker 11 (29:54):
I'm calling Russ.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
I don't want to know Buddy's life. Well, Sierra's here
with us.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
The whole gang is here, Jazzmine Brand and Maya. We
got more with her and her album coming out tomorrow
is way up.

Speaker 10 (30:11):
You want to know my name?

Speaker 6 (30:13):
Way up with Angela?

Speaker 1 (30:16):
What's up? Is way up with Angela?

Speaker 2 (30:17):
Yee, I'm here, Jasmine Brand is here, Mano's here, and
this is fun.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
Sierra's here.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
All right now, let's talk about BRB because I feel
like this song is relevant.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
So wait, we just talked about it right here, So
how is it for you when y'all got to be
apart from each other.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
What's the longest amount of time that because now you're
you know, you're on the road obviously, like you've been promoting.

Speaker 9 (30:37):
Oh my gosh, and I know that can't be easy
to leave, Like there's a two thousands. But we're very
intentional about like connecting with each other. So we do
date nights every Friday, and then luckily, like I said,
we've been able to do more and it feels like
fresh dating. Like it's like I always say, you gotta
continue to search for the beginning, you know, like that
energy when you first meet someone, like that excitement trying
to keep a cute you know, like Russ always says,

(30:59):
you gotta always compete, you know, kind of like stay
on top of your stuff, like you know, and all
that good stuff. So we talk about like we kind
of like are really like intentional with that idea. But
the longest we've ever been apart maybe it's like ten days.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Oh is it fun to miss somebody who I know?
People will say sometimes it's good to be a part,
So I can.

Speaker 9 (31:18):
Definitely I definitely do be like super turned up when
I haven't seen him in a while. I jump on
him when he comes to the door, I jump on him, kid,
You ready, come on?

Speaker 1 (31:31):
You know strong?

Speaker 9 (31:35):
Yeah, speaking of which, we're not going to talk about
how when I was carrying our last baby and I
weigh the same weight as Russ, he't want to try
to pick me up.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Then, but he could though, he could when you jump
on him.

Speaker 9 (31:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
No, but CC was looking good. I saw people were
saying that too.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
Right now, Jasmine brand is here, Mano's here getting ready
for his wedding, and Sierra's here to help him out.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
Her album CC is out tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
We got the check listing for the album and we
got a little sneak preview and how we wrote.

Speaker 7 (32:07):
Was on there.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
And that song feels like that song was popping for
so long now. I didn't even realize it hadn't been
on an album.

Speaker 5 (32:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (32:15):
No. So I started out the CC project as an
EP at first, and then it just evolved over time
I went on tour.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
I've had two babies.

Speaker 9 (32:23):
I mean, I've done a lot over the past almost
six years, sure, and so I've been putting out songs
kind of like in pieces.

Speaker 4 (32:30):
I'm like, why am I keep doing this piece thing?

Speaker 9 (32:32):
Like, let's just complete the project, and most importantly, you know,
I want to give my fans a body of work.
And it's been twenty one years since I put out
my first album, right, so for a minute, yeah, it'd
be sitting and they still have exactly we legale people
still care.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
That's a blessing. Thank you so much.

Speaker 9 (32:54):
I do feel that gratitude.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
So that's what this project is.

Speaker 9 (32:58):
I really call a dedication to my fans, you know,
because when you call me by my nickname, Ceci, it's
real personal, you know. And so I was inspired by
that and I was able to bring everything together and
I'm so excited.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
And so are you going to go on tour for CC?

Speaker 9 (33:14):
You know?

Speaker 1 (33:14):
CEC always has tour plans.

Speaker 9 (33:16):
We're actually working on it. I have a little time
before we'll roll it out, but I do have plans
to go on a global tour.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
Sierra's here with us.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
The whole gang is here, Jasmine Brand and Mano. We
got more with her and her album coming out tomorrow
is Way Up.

Speaker 6 (33:30):
Way Up with angela Ye more Now what's up as.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
Way up with angela Ye? Normally last word is here?
But how could we not talk to Sierra some more?
I'm here with Jasmine Brand and Mano. You start off
the album with this song made it? Yes, When did
you realize you made it?

Speaker 9 (33:46):
I said, family straight and we paid. Now you don't
pay the bills late now bank safe as my playground.
I've been thanks that I came out on God. Yeah,
I think not having to worry about like the bills
might be a good thing. You know, where you can
also like do for others, you know, like that's a gift. Yeah,
Like I gave my dad my Range Rover a few

(34:07):
weeks ago, Like is that I like a few but
that was just like the simplest thing, but it was
so cute. I just thank God that I had an
extra car to give.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
That is always saying that's great, SUPERU. But like a
few years later he was like, I need another new
car now, Okay that because it all adds up.

Speaker 9 (34:32):
You know, your definition definition of success changes over time.
Not so much about all the tangible things. It's like
the things that really have true significance and impact on
your life. It all kind of comes down to those
types of things, right, So your health is important. Your
mental health is important, you know, like knowing who you are.
I was saying to someone earlier, like there's a saying,
what good is it in the world?

Speaker 1 (34:53):
Will lose your soul?

Speaker 9 (34:54):
You know, It's like you can have everything in the
world's so full empty on the inside if you don't
take care of you. So for me is like my
understanding of like success is just shifted. And to be
honest with you, guys, I feel like the more that
I stop trying to make certain things happen, they happen
right now.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
Jasmine brand is here, Mano is here getting ready for
his wedding, and Sierra is here to help him out.

Speaker 1 (35:15):
Her album CC is out tomorrow. You feel freer now.

Speaker 9 (35:19):
I definitely feel like I'm in a very liberating space
in my life. I feel I don't know, I just
feel like life keeps getting better as a woman.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
Honestly.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
Congratulations again, CC. And one of my favorite phrases is
a title track on the album.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
Run It Up, and that's what We're gonna do. We're
gonna run it out, run up this town, run up
these tickets to the concert. Yes, everything, run it out,
and we're gonna help you out Mano. So yeah, we'd like,
I feel like to be here and then something happens

(35:56):
after that listen.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
She might get a call or text later like hey,
we saw you with Simone actually maybe.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
Oh yeah, she's so sweet.

Speaker 9 (36:08):
About I was like, well, hold on minute, I'm going
to do to her ready, okay, because it can.

Speaker 4 (36:12):
Be playing with nobody works around here.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
We're getting there. Put that car in front of the
horse because I'm trying. It's gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
You're not making no sense.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
Yes, we talk about the phrases before the.

Speaker 9 (36:27):
Horse because we know we're not sounding right. Okay, we're
not sounding wrong. If she's listening right now, she stopped. Okay,
she's going I don't hear it.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
Somebody probably like I could beat the one. Good luck?

Speaker 2 (36:41):
All right, thank you so much, Thank you so much
to Seeerra for joining us. Her album CC is out tomorrow,
so make sure y'all check out that whole interview on.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
My YouTube channel.

Speaker 2 (36:51):
Way Up with Ye and Don't Forget Ye Day is
coming up on Saturday, but we will see y'all tomorrow.
