for me. Also another person that's fun Bill Bellamy. He's
in the movie Worst Christmas Ever, but he's also got
his top billing podcast, because you know, Bill Bellamy's a

(00:49):
great talker. He also had an amazing memoir. If you
didn't get a chance to see it, but you know
the reason why he's so far in life as a VJ,
as a comedian, as an actor, as an all around
good person. He's got it all. So we'll be talking
of Dayla So and Bill Bellamy today. Right now, it's

Ooh, okay, I love that. Tell me why even all.

Speaker 5 (01:45):
My bad days, they definitely bring you up.

Speaker 2 (01:48):

call us up and spread some love and some positivity.
Even if we play it for last word, we definitely
want to hear it. We definitely want to make sure
people know that you shined a light on them. If
it's somebody that did something positive for you, a story
you heard on the news, somebody related to you, a
complete stranger, it is what it is. Everybody needs to

(02:28):

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Be way up with Angela ye break them down more
now down.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
What's up? His way up with Angela yee. And this
is so exciting for me, Me and Jasmine Branda here
right now we have day Lass in the building, new
album and it sounds phenomenal.

Speaker 7 (02:48):
Thank you so much, you know, and it meant a lot,
of course because it's the first album without Dave, but
he's on it.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Yeah, he's on it. There's a lot of new.

Speaker 7 (02:56):
Stuff on it as well, but just of course some
stuff that Dave had did.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Before, like you don't Stop because you put that early
on in the album and I saw at the end
you said the magic will always be three yes, and
you let it. But one of the other songs from
my childhood that was always a favorite was Biddy's in
the BK Love. Yeah, you said that's a true story.

Speaker 7 (03:16):
Well, yeah, a little bit kind of because me and
Dave we used to work at Burger King, so we
had collected so many stories from that.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
But how was that? It was fun?

Speaker 7 (03:29):
You don't want to know the crazy stuff, but I
just know that I don't trust anything that I don't
see someone making based off the crazy stuff that we
were doing.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Oh my god.

Speaker 7 (03:40):
Yeah, I was leaving it at that at.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
That yeah, yeah, yeah, watch the money range.

Speaker 7 (03:45):
But the story really kind of comes from when he
was on the LL tour and he ran up in
a Burger King and yeah, you tell that one.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Very much.

Speaker 6 (03:57):
No way, no way.

Speaker 8 (03:58):
You mess with the girl behind the.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Counter and she threw my should.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
You might deserve it, I did, but they still can't
do that.

Speaker 8 (04:09):
But I was with nineteen at the time. Feeling myself,
all I could do is really laugh.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
We all laugh.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Right now, we have day Lasso in the building past,
and of course Macio is here and unfortunately not true boy,
but his spirit does live on day La. So came
to Wesleyan University and did our spring playing I was
in college. Do you know how amazing that was for us?

Speaker 8 (04:34):
Show? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (04:35):
I got it pictures that show.

Speaker 7 (04:37):
Yeah, you got pictures of us. I got pictures of
us because yeah, that's when we met all each other.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Corey was there. Corey knew of course.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Yeah, she knew sat and she introduced us to you
and Maria and yeah, and then that led to us
almost making it onto a day last.

Speaker 8 (04:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Yeah, I didn't go the.

Speaker 7 (05:00):
Singing because this is what she's gonna understand.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
They were singing the duom stuff making love to me.

Speaker 7 (05:09):
So when I kept trying to figure out who I
was doing, I had won a vision of most I
had them do a version I had.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Yeah, they didn't.

Speaker 7 (05:20):
And the crazy thing is that they sounded closer to
the way I heard it.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
But Angela, Angela, I'm gonna tell you what happened. Oh yeah, Literally,
they were like is trying to do this hook. He
wants people that can't sing for real to come and
do it perfect, right. So we go in there and
I guess it was like really off.

Speaker 7 (05:41):
Because yeah, because I wanted to kind of feel like that,
you know, hey, d they like it ain't really on,
but nothing rhythm.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
I wanted the rhythm on rhythm.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
I has only his hair cabin in this Skuy is out.
We have more with the legends, and I mean legends.
When we come back, it's way up and I'm bag
we about to do.

Speaker 1 (06:07):

You're way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Please believe that what's up his way up at Angela Yee.
I'm here with my girl Jazmin Brand and we love
us some day La Soul. So excited to have them
here with us today talking about their new album, Cabin
in the Sky. One thing I saw you guys have
mentioned this before is that nobody ever went solo, like
nobody ever said.

Speaker 8 (06:31):
But you know, I always wanted him to do a
solo album at one point, you know, but he was
at him and or not doing.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
That right now. The labels never approached you like, you
know how they'll do that.

Speaker 7 (06:45):
Like so people I've always said like they would love
to hear a Pass album, but I never really.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
Took the bait.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Do your kids know? When did your kids realize when
they were young that your celebrities.

Speaker 8 (06:55):
My sons, when we did Rock the Bells is when
it really clicked to them that we were special.

Speaker 6 (07:04):
That's because.

Speaker 8 (07:06):
All that Yeah and and red Enough and everybody was
on that. Pretty much every rapper they love love us,
and they was shocked, like who are you?

Speaker 3 (07:24):
It's like, yo, Buster love you like that? Like you
know Buster, your god, your do you know who your
father is?

Speaker 7 (07:35):
That night that night I saw you, I have had
a joint. I have my son with me, my young
and yeah, and Buster pulled him to the side like
that too, and he was like come here, and he
was like he's like you my nephew, and he was
like uncle Buster.

Speaker 8 (07:49):
Another time, when my boys got old enough to start
hanging out in clubs, they ran into Buster one night
and Buster was shocked to see them because they've grown now,
you know, and it.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Was like uncle bus make so he was like, you
are clear off the whole clubs. So extra Joe. They
come home with this crazy experience. I love that. It
was crazy.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
I'm going to the bathroom.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
They never come back.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Believe it. Believe you give a good bust impersonation. Well listen,
thank you guys so much. I really can and this guy,
I could talk to you forever and we got to
do it again.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
The album is out on the record.

Speaker 8 (08:36):
My wife and I we are big fans.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
Of you on the record for me and your thing
for real, thank you.

Speaker 9 (08:43):
I appreciate you, appreciate going and off the court you've
been and I mean for real, like you like you
know me, like because I'm like this little Angela who
was in my house hanging out while me and Santy
is playing with St twelve and Angels, just sitting right there.

Speaker 7 (08:56):
Look, I'm like everything you've done, I'm just so proud
of you.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
He's probably I think better enough. I don't really need to.
We can just judge it up. Team again. Thank you
guys so much for joining me on the show Man.
That was honestly like amazing for me to have these
conversations with legendary, legendary people, Like I said, I've known

(09:22):
them since I was in college, you know, pass and
I have been super cool since then, so really appreciate
the opportunity. And I got to tell some of my
little untold stories too. Don't forget we got the way
it mixed for you guys. At the top of the hour,
plus Bill Bellamy is going to be joining us. He's
got all the stories. And let me tell y'all, I
was able to get so much dirt because I did
read his memoir It's way.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Up, whether it's relationship for career advice, Angela's dropping.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Facts as what's up his way up? But Angela, yee.
I'm here with Jasmine Brands, and we got somebody on
the line for ask yee. Quentin is on the line, Hey, Quentin, Hey,
what's your question for us today? Asked you.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
So I was dealing with this girl and I went
through the phone. What I've seen like a text so
that like they didn go through the phone, and it
was under a different name, but it was she wound
up talking to my.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Brother, Oh wow, what did you see that made you
go through the phone.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
She would try to hire her phone, like every time
it would come up, like she would like just act
like make like weird faces or something like that.

Speaker 6 (10:26):
So it like made me skeptical about it.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Was that all you saw when you went through they.

Speaker 6 (10:30):
Was just like you know they had intercourse.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Oh man, oh my gosh. Brother, Yeah, is has he
done stuff like this to you before? Are y'all close?

Speaker 6 (10:41):
We're pretty close.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
And when you say brother, that's your actual brother.

Speaker 6 (10:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
First of all, that's not your girl anymore. Let's get
that straight, right. Imagine like being in a relationship with
somebody that had sex with your brother and you found
out because you went through her phone that relationship is done.

Speaker 6 (10:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Did you all break up yet? Does she know you
saw this?

Speaker 8 (10:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (10:59):
We Yeah, at the same day. I brought it up
for her.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
What does she say when you confront of her about it?

Speaker 5 (11:04):
It started off us planning to surprise you. My birthday was.

Speaker 6 (11:09):
Around that time. Like, oh, we didn't deny it. Yeah?

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Was she at least apologetic?

Speaker 5 (11:15):
Yeah, she was apologetic about it, trying to get back together.

Speaker 6 (11:18):
So in any text got blocked on everything.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Okay, good, I'm glad you did that. So she's out
of the picture. Now you still haven't said anything to
your brother.

Speaker 6 (11:27):
I folk with my brother about it.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
He was just like apologizing the family, try to get
us back talking, but I had a family.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Now, well, if I were you, I would take my time.
You have every right to not talk to your brother
until you feel comfortable in doing so. How do you
feel about the situation now?

Speaker 6 (11:44):
It happened like a few months ago, so I'm like
over it.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Well, I'm sorry that that happened to you. Does he
have a girlfriend?

Speaker 6 (11:52):
No, not at the moment.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
No, you definitely got to get back. Are you thinking
about revenge? No, don't do it. Don't do it. Don't
make her do his wife?

Speaker 3 (12:01):
What do you get married? No?

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Yeah, yeah, you gotta one of them.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
You know what I'm saying. You can't even do it
even joint. You gotta not even you wouldn't have You
don't seem like that time. You don't think like that time.

Speaker 6 (12:12):
I'm always get No.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Okay, that's what I want to hear. We're not We're
not with that. But again, you have every right to
feel how you do, and your brother should be doing
whatever he can to make it up to you. Yeah,
but thank you for calling and sharing that with it.
That's wow. Yeah, that's crazy.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
Good luck.

Speaker 5 (12:29):
Can I give a shout out to my business?

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (12:32):
Oh, my business is timeless, eh l on Instagram.

Speaker 6 (12:35):
I'm a I have a catering business. Okay, I would
love to bring them food. I would love to bring
some food up for y'all.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
You have side dishes and I'm kidding.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Yeah, we're good.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Let's get hold up. We'll get your information. We're left
for you to come bring some food up. Okay, that
was ask ye eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.
If you couldn't get through, you can always leave a
message and I'll answer your question when we come back.
Top Billin. Bill Bellamy is going to be joining us.
He's in the Christmas movie Worst Christmas Ever. But he's
also got his podcast Top Billin. He's also got an

(13:09):
amazing memoir out. He's also a great stand up comic.
We'll discuss everything. It's way up and I beg we
about to.

Speaker 6 (13:16):
Do this one of the most famous women in radio vidio.
We're talking about Angela Ye.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
You're way up with Angela Yee. Please believe that what's up?
His way up with Angela Yee. And Bill Bellamy is
in the building with us. He is hilarious. I'm telling y'all.
His memoir came out last year. You got to read it.
He's got amazing stories. But the Worst Christmas Ever. So
that movie, by the way, watched it because you know,
I went on Prime and rented. I paid the two

(13:41):
ninety nine. But anyway, so I love a good holiday movie.
There were some things in that movie that I was like,
this is insane.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
You know what I love about Worst Christmas Ever? Because
the title makes you go, what that? And number two?
What I like about it? It's about love and it's
about family, right, so I.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Say blended family.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
Yeah, blended family because people living like that. You know,
you divorced, you got your kids, you still love your kids,
your ex got somebody else, you ain't got nobody yet
you still in love. Like that's real life, you know
what I mean, you'd be like your hot Felicia cannot
come in and say, but.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Can you imagine staying if and I know you're very
happily married, so that's not but I'm just saying, imagine
staying or somebody staying at their ex house and.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
Then she got a new man and they smashing out. Yeah,
you gotta understand, I used to live in and this
dude is banging out and I gotta comebine and I'm
the visitor. Now that's a hell of a man. So
I always tell my wife, I said, if we don't
make it and we break up, I'm not gonna be
a good baby dad. I'm already telling you right now. Listen,

(14:51):
I'm not him. I'm not him. I'm not gonna be there. Oh,
let's just be nice to each other and oh my god,
listen all share of the key us. I'm very territory
about my kids. Like I'm like, there's a I'm.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Not playing right now. I'm talking to Bill Bellamy. Where's Christmas?

Speaker 3 (15:06):
Ever?

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Is available to rent on Prime? You also, when your
book talked about Janet Jackson.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
Yes, do you know what's so crazy? I probably could
have been with Janet Jackson if I wanted to. I
was just so weet, Yo. There was a mutual energy
that I just didn't understand because I was kind of like,
she's super duper famous right now, I'm mister VJ. But
she was flirtiest with me, like, and she's like, oh, Bill,

(15:32):
and put her hand on your chest, and that's kind
of crazy.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
I'm just like, oh, you kind of dropped the ball.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
I dropped the book because because that's when I saw
Jamaine do.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
It I was like, I.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
Was, but I fumbled the ball. God damn it.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
That's hilarious.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
I swear to God, what ja main?

Speaker 8 (15:54):
Guy?

Speaker 3 (15:54):
I was like, I had the hole. I was, damn
But this is the craziest thing when I think back
in my life. She's walking around the crib with like,
you know, just a little bikini top, born in a
little you know, sexy little.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Rap and you're like, I'm not looking.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
I'm like, I should have really been on my how
to be a player? Bro? I know I was on
my like Hi, guys, Hey, guys, anybody wants some cheetos?
I should have been about how to be a player.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
Bill Bellamy is here, ladies and gentlemen, and he's been
on tour. He was just doing shows in New York
over the weekend. We got more with him when we
come back. It's way up. Yeah, let's go turn me up.
Here we go again.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
This is way up with angela Ye.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
What's up? Its way up at angela Ye, and I'm
here with Bill Bellamy. Make sure y'all check out Worst
Christmas Ever. You can order that on Amazon Prime. Most recently,
on your social media page, you told the story about
Manny Fresh. Oh my God, and you said.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
Did you see it?

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Yes? I did?

Speaker 3 (16:58):
What it was? It funny?

Speaker 2 (17:00):
It was funny. But I was also like, I'm sure
Manifest knows that people say this about him.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Yes, and this is funny. This is why I told you.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
I'm just wondering.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
This is gonna be mad. No, he started following me
afterwards when I met.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Him and everything.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
Yeah, but here's the thing that's so funny about me
as a person. Most people don't know how tall I am. Right,
you may know what I look like, but you don't
know how tall I am. So it's the same thing
about what people really look like. It's supposed to snapshots
of people, right. So the reason I told the story
because it was so freaking funny. From where I was,
I didn't know it was many Fresh. I was like, Yo,

(17:36):
this is stuod right there, dj In Yo Wat's that
stood dj in so long? Because I'm thinking, like, that's right. Yeah,
I'm thinking many Fresh is my size. I'm thinking many
Fresh look like this, and that I don't know it's
many Fresh. So I said, Yo, I gotta tell the
story because the whole time I'm upset, I'm like, Yo,
I cannot wait to meet Many Free. I said, Yo,

(17:59):
this DJ, he's killing it, but I want Many Fresh.
And so my boy was like, yo, be white you tripping.
I'm like, yo, man, I've been We've been here. I said,
where's many Fresh? He was like, he's white a black
out because he did you know, from a distance he
looked like a stud.

Speaker 10 (18:15):
Like he looked like an uncle Auntie. But you tagged
him look like Auntie. Man, I have no comment. I'm
not a comedian.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
I'm a comedian. Let me, let me do it.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
I can't get away because he got like like.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
He has zero facial hair, not even a mustache, not
to go to and he doesn't have no eyebrows. So
he just looked like a stud from from the distance,
but he's really a guy. My bad shout out to
all the studs.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Right now, I'm talking to Bill Bellamy. Where's Christmas?

Speaker 3 (18:52):
Ever?

Speaker 2 (18:52):
Is available to rent on Prime? And I know you
still love touring, right Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
So like touring right now? My tours called our top
building And you know, I'm just bringing the top comedians
with me on this run. And that really really funny.
We write jokes during the day, we punch up stuff.
We try to make sure the show.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Is unbelievable, nothing like what you do.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
Yeah, man, it's so fun. But we do this thing
Angela that's so crazy at the end of my show,
so we do the Battle of music. We do two
thousand artists versus nineties, and the amount of crowd participation
is staggering. People pick their team, so you got team
two thousand. Those are all the people that's forty and
down and the forty and up is super nineties. I

(19:35):
love it. It is phenomenal. You should see some of
the clips we post. Is crazy.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
Well, I'm looking forward to everything you had going on.
Make sure y'all check out Worre's Christmas Ever.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
Thank you, Yeah, and I truly truly love you. I
love what you're doing for the culture. Man, Keep rocking
and rolling and keep supporting comedy because you might mess
around to comedy because you kind of funny.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
I mean, but I just want to get on this
Bill Bellamy level. At some point in my life. I'm
gonna keep going. I'm still working.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
Let's go, let's go all right, oh the world.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
You can watch that full interview on my YouTube channel,
Way up with You and make sure y'all come back
with the last word because this is your show.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
Tappying to get your voice heard.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
What the word big is the last word on Way
