Speaker 2 (00:13):
It's way up with angela ye and happy Friday. You

to Orlando today, but that is gonna be after all this,
We're gonna have a fun show because guess who's joining

you already know what that is. We're gonna get all
into everything he's got going on. You know, g Herbal,
conversation is always amazing.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
When did you say it? Then?

Speaker 5 (00:41):
I would say so, especially with you. Honestly, he opens
up a lot with you.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Yeah, I think he's really great though at like having
conversational Yeah, he's a pretty conversational. I also want to
ask him nothing but nothing about that picture that goes
viral all the time of.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Him a farrakn It is hilarious.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Okay, Well, anyway, let's get this show started with some
love and some positivety. Let's shine a light eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty call us up. Let
us know who you want to shine a light on.
It's way up a shine ah, turn your lights on y'all,
lights on it, spreading love to those who are doing greatness.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Shine a light on the shine a light on.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
It's time to shine a light on what's up its
way up at Angela Ye, and it's time to shine
a light. And today I want to shine a light
on somebody who I randomly met down at South Street Seaport. Now,
she just asked me to take a picture of her
and her husband, and I obliged because I love taking
pictures at the photography when I was in high school
and college. Her name is Barbie Patel and she has

(01:41):
now started her own business.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
It's called Cinderella Brides.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
She started it as a side hustle to building a
multi passion journey that reflects the things that she loves
the most and the communities.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
That inspire her.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
She did actually get featured in Forbes magazine. The article
is called how a female founder bootstrapped a side hustle
to a multi million dollar lifestyle portfolio. She's a former
Wall Street sales executive that now has a multimillion dollar
portfolio lifestyle, glam services, education and destination wedding business called

(02:12):
Cinderellabridees really tapping into America's seventy billion dollar wedding industry.
So congratulations to Barbie Patel for that. Now, hoodie, you
want to shine a light on eight hundred two ninety
two fifty one fifty Isaac, Who do you want to
shine a light on?

Speaker 6 (02:27):
I would like to shine the light on a friend
of mine. He got launched up when he was seventeen
years old, and I'd just like to shout out his
rehabilitation process and how he was able to transform and
become a full time published author.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Oh wow, what book says he have out? Or you know,
give us at least one title.

Speaker 6 (02:47):
I always shout out his memoirs called Once Upon My Time,
making the best of it while it's available. His name
is Nashid Nasalon. It's available on Amazon and everything, and
I'm just proud of him. So I just wanted to
send him a salute.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
All right, Well, shout out to him and thank you
so much. You're a good friend. And I'm sure y'all
both be looking out for each other.

Speaker 6 (03:06):
Can I shout out on Instagram too?

Speaker 7 (03:08):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Please?

Speaker 6 (03:09):
It's at free names. That's at free Nazz at free name.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Okay, all right, I'm gonna look it up. Right now.
Thank you for calling so lute, thank you all right.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Well that was Shining Light eight hundred and two ninety
two fifty one to fifty. Just in case you couldn't
get through, you can always leave a message and shine
a light that way. And when we come back, we
have your yee t. And let's talk about Paul Wall.
He was recently on the Art of Dialogue. He told
a whole lot of stories, but one of them is
about jay Z. We'll discuss it when we come back.
It's way up, this says the rooms from industry shade.

Speaker 8 (03:42):
To all of gossip out send Angelus speeling that yet.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
What's up?

Speaker 2 (03:47):
His way up with angela ye, and it's time for
your yee t. So let's start off with Paul Wall.
He was on Art of Dialogue and he was reflecting
on the first time he interacted with jay Z. Now,
Paul Wall was Uncin's late registration album on the song
Drives Slow, but he also wanted that song to be
on his debut album, The People's Champ that came out

(04:08):
just a few weeks later. Well, Jay Z was president
of Deaf Jam at the time. Paul Wo was signed
to Atlantic, and he said Atlantic talk jay Z into
letting them include Drive Slow on his first album.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Here's what he had to say, and.

Speaker 9 (04:20):
Jay Z cleared it.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Jay Z waved the fens, He waved all of it.

Speaker 7 (04:25):
The only thing jay Z said was, Man, the only
thing I want you to do is pay Kanye West
whatever he charges for a beat. So just to be fair,
I'm not going to charge you a clearance fee for
his verse, but to be fair for him, pay him
what he wants for to beat. So my interaction with
jay Z was him looking out for me.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
So all he had to do was pay for the beat.
He didn't have to pay any type of clearance fee.
That's a big deal all right.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
Now.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
In addition to that, there are rumors and I saw
this in Star magazine that Kim Kardashian and Drake are dating.
And that is following some pictures that were in Italy
these vacation. Now, according to the Sun, fans connected the
Dusk because Kim Kardashian posted pictures on Tuesday showing her
with the lake behind her. This is in Italy and

(05:10):
she said Italy twenty twenty five. But then there was
also a real estate account that confirmed that Drake just
recently stayed at that same place and it had the
same matching architecture. I looked at the pictures and they
were definitely in the same place. Now the question is,
were they in the same place at the same time,
you know, because it could be just a mansion that's

(05:30):
popular for people to stay at. But who knows, And
that is your yet when we come back, we have
tell us a secret. That might have been a secret
I don't know, or maybe it's nothing, but anyway, eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifty is a number
anything that you want to tell us. Remember it's a
no judgment zone. Of course you're anonymous. That's eight hundred
two nine two fifty one fifty. Call us up, tell

(05:52):
us a secret. It's way up.

Speaker 9 (05:55):
This is a judgment free zone. Tell us a secret.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
What's up, y'all? It's way yea with Angela yee.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Happy Friday, and you know Friday secrets are always the best.
So we want to hear yours. Eight hundred two nine
two fifty one fifty. What's up, anonymous caller?

Speaker 3 (06:09):
What's your secret?

Speaker 10 (06:10):
So two years ago I was the girl with somebody
and he got someone up pregnant. Yeah, so I felt
some type of way. So I met with his first cousin,
who was married but was taking very well care of
me for a while until I got tired of him.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
So he had a baby on you. You stayed with him,
but you got revenge. Does he know about this revenge
or is it only you that knows?

Speaker 10 (06:35):
No, to this day, he does not know what his
cousin and the one that I was messing with.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Man, I could tear the family apart, and he was married,
and so you were the cousin's side pieces. Had you
already liked the cousin though, because that ain't something that
just happens.

Speaker 10 (06:48):
No, it was weird because I had randomly met the
cousin at my job and I didn't know it was
his cousin at first, and then when I found out
it was, I was like, okay, well I can get my.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Do you ever think about like karma, like, oh, well
he is married and stuff like that, And I didn't
was a side piece to a married man, so maybe
that's not.

Speaker 10 (07:07):
Oh yeah, everybody get for karma. I'm married and my
husband has cheated on me.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Ni mercon Oh shoot, okay, all right, well all right,
so this is a long time ago.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Well, thank you for calling and sharing with us.

Speaker 10 (07:19):
We're welcome.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Take care, Hey, Anonymous, call it what up? Hey? Do
you want to tell us a secret?

Speaker 11 (07:27):
I'm sure over ten years ago I went to jail
and I happened to have a quarter pounds of marijuana
in my brawl and the cop didn't know, so I
put it inside. And the whole time I was in jail,
it was in there. I couldn't pee, I couldn't feel,
couldn't do anything, but I never got caught.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
How long were you in jail?

Speaker 11 (07:48):
For probably twelve hours?

Speaker 3 (07:50):
All right, so it wasn't too too long.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
I thought you was gonna say you took it out
and smoked it little by little while you were in there.

Speaker 11 (07:57):
No, I did take it out and smoke it, but
it was after I got out.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
All right. Well, good, that's not a bad secret. I'm
glad you didn't get caught.

Speaker 11 (08:03):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Take care.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Well, that was tell us a secret. Eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one fifty. In case you couldn't get through,
you can always leave a message and tell us a secret.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
That way for last word, and when we come back.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
We got to your ye t and Leonardo DiCaprio recently
did an interview with E News and he talked about
what movie role would he bring back if he could.
He said, it would be really fun. It's way up shore.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
She's about to blow the lid ab off this spot.
Let's get it.

Speaker 8 (08:31):
Oh yeah, Angelus billing that yeez, Come.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
And get the tea.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
What's up?

Speaker 2 (08:36):
His way up with Angela yee? And it is time
for your ye t now. Leonardo DiCaprio recently did an
interview with E News and he talked about a role
that he would reprise if he could. What role would
he revisit now? What would you think?

Speaker 4 (08:51):
It is?

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Dan Titanic?

Speaker 5 (08:53):
That would be a good one, uh or the Revenue.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Catch me if you can.

Speaker 5 (08:56):
That's a good one.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
That's a good one too. What's your favorite Leonardo DiCaprio inception?

Speaker 4 (09:01):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (09:01):
And then Wolf of wall Street too?

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Well, Wolf of wall Street is who he would revisit.
That particular character, Jordan Belfort.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
He crushed that role.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
He said it would be fun to do more Wolf
of wall Street stuff. Yes, he definitely like he was
really on what was the drug?

Speaker 5 (09:13):
Quailude him? And Jonah Hill.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Jonah Hill was amazing in that role.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
By the way, Let's not forget how amazing Margot Robbie
was in that role too.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Yeah, and you know, Leonardo DiCaprio also had recently talked
about a role that he wished he hadn't turned down,
and that was Dirk Diggler in Boogie Knights. That was
actually Mark Wahlberg who ended up playing that role. Mark
Warberg did a great job in that role too, though.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
He crushed that.

Speaker 5 (09:37):
I can't say I've ever seen that movie.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
You never saw Boogie Knights. No, you got to see it,
all right. And Trey's Songs has settled his twenty million
dollar lawsuits. He was accused of sexually assaulting a woman
at a Miami nightclub, and according to legal documents obtained
by Billboard, he reached a confidential deal right before the
case was about to go to trial. The plaintiff is

(09:58):
Jahara Jeffries. She said that he sexually violated her January first,
twenty eighteen, at Club eleven. The details surrounding the settlement
have not been revealed, but her attorney has confirmed that
the matter has been resolved. She first sued him in
twenty twenty for ten million dollars. That is your yeet
and when we come back, we have under the radar.
These are the stories that are not necessarily in the headlines.

(10:20):
They're flying under the radar, but you definitely need to
know about them.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
It's way up.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
These stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
What's up is way up with Angela yee and it's
time for your under the radar stories. And according to reports,
Donald Trump's terrorists could push nearly one million Americans into
poverty because of these taxes. These import taxes actually weigh
more heavily on lower income households, according to a study
that was published this week by Yale's Budget Lab. They

(10:48):
said if these rifts remain in place after a Supreme
Court ruling, that will increase the number of Americans living
in poverty by as much as eight hundred and seventy
five thousand. According to the report, because patterns of spending
differ across households, this burden is felt unevenly. Terrorists disproportionately
slam a low income Americans who already live paycheck to

(11:09):
paycheck and can't afford to lose out on more of
their income. I kind of feel like you didn't need
a study to know that no you did not. Of course,
if you can't afford it, then you really can't afford
it now. Now, in addition to that, I do want
to also in this under the Radar talk about what
I'm doing today actually going out to Orlando. We are

(11:29):
going to be helping Big Dave's Cheese Steaks in Orlando.
Shout out to Derek Lewis. He's studying breakfast at Big
Dave's Cheese Steaks. And you know Big Dave's Cheesteaks is
an amazing, amazing franchise. Yes, you know Derek Hayes, he
was up here for Wealth Wednesday. Derek Lewis has also
been up here and he was an executive at Pepsi.
He retired, actually wrote an amazing book and now has

(11:50):
opened these Big Dave's Cheesteak franchises and we are putting
our coffee uplifts people in those Orlando franchises, you guys.
So I'll be out there helping launched breakfast. So I
just wanted to let everybody know that that's coming. So
if you see me in Orlando, yes, that is absolutely me.
So get ready for us to do more partnerships, but
things like this, as we're talking about what's happening. You know,

(12:11):
it's just really important that we link up with good
people that we all assist each other.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
You know, we have great product, they have a great product.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Derek hit me up and was like, let's come and
bring our brands together because if this breakfast that's happening
and I'm super appreciative of it, and so we're here
to over deliver and super serve. So I'm excited to
be in Orlando for this major launch this weekend. All right, well,
those are your under the radar stories. We do have
The Way Up mixed for you at the top of
the hour, Plus we have an amazing Gee Herbal interview

(12:42):
for you today. You are going to absolutely love this interview.
Gee Herbal is so transparent. He's talking about a time
that he fell out of love with doing music and
being an artist. But now he's back in love and
you can feel it with this new project that's on
the way.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
It's way up.

Speaker 4 (12:56):
Just like to talk like.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
They and Jealie Jane like they and Julie Jee.

Speaker 8 (13:00):
Man, She's spilling it all. This is ye eat well.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
Up, what's up?

Speaker 2 (13:06):
His Way Up with Angela Yee And it's time for
your yet and recently, Jyl was doing a Q and
A for her upcoming movie. It's a musical called Kiss
of the Spider Woman, and she talks about losing out
on a role that she.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
Prepared for for weeks. Here's what she had to say.
I remember auditioning for Avita.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
I would been practicing for weeks and sing my heart
out and there's my thing, and he goes, you're amazing.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
You know, Madonna has the part right.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
And Brooke Hogan is saying that she is not upset
about being removed from hok Hogan's will. She's not going
to get any of his nearly five million dollars in assets.
She told TMZ, his decision is no surprise to me.
It's what I asked for. I stand by it with
no regrets. My dad knows I'm a hard worker and
I have been surviving without his money for a.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
Long long time.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
So apparently, with the money that's left behind for his beneficiary,
she is not one of them all right. And former
NBA center Jason Collins, he was the league's first openly
gay player, has been diagnosed with the brain tumor.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
He is currently undergoing treatment.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
The league did release a statement on Thursday on behalf
of Collins and his family. They called on his fans
to send positive vibes. They said, Jason and his family
welcome your support in prayers and kindly ask for privacy
as they dedicate their attention to Jason's health and well being.
All right, well, that is your yet, and when we
come back, it's a new music. Friday will tell you

(14:26):
what's out today. It's way out.

Speaker 8 (14:29):
Since with its relationship with career advice, Angela's dropping facts,
you should know.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
This is ask gee what's up? His way up with
Angela Yee? And it's time to ask yee eight hundred
and two nine two fifty one fifty. If you have
a question, of course, I'm here to help you out. Hey, Kenneth,
what's your question for? Ask ye?

Speaker 4 (14:47):
My relationship is real, real rockey right now?

Speaker 11 (14:49):
Man, And I don't know if I need to leave
where I need to stay?

Speaker 4 (14:52):
Now?

Speaker 3 (14:53):
Well, what's the problem.

Speaker 11 (14:55):
Everything is just.

Speaker 6 (14:55):
Something that's to try to put a better man till
my woman.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
Paul, Okay, well, but what makes you not a great
man to your women that you need to do better?

Speaker 9 (15:04):
I honestly do think that I need to slow down
on things like drinking and things of that made.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
First, okay, you think you have like an alcohol abuse problem.

Speaker 11 (15:13):
You know what, no one wants to fact and that's.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
How they know you have a problem when you won't
admit it too, is what they say, right you, right
about that now?

Speaker 11 (15:21):
But you know, I just use the alcohol to kind
of cold with the problems and things of that nature.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Right because you know, the first step to getting help
is to many that there's something you need help with this, ma'am.
And look, I appreciate that you can call up here
and be self reflective and know that about yourself, and
it's not an easy thing to say, but just know
that if you don't say it, you're not.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
Going to deal with it, right about that now, right?

Speaker 2 (15:44):
So I really suggest that you find a treatment center
where you can go get help and don't feel bad
that you can't do it alone.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
It's a disease.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Just like if you were sick and you have to
go to the hospital and get treated for it. This
is something that you may need to get some treatment
for and they can honestly positively improve all aspects of
your life. Like you said, there's a root cause of
this and it's something that you're using to escape from
other issues that you're having and it's probably making things
even worse.

Speaker 9 (16:13):
You right about that, ma'am?

Speaker 2 (16:15):
All right, well, listen, there's a lot of different places
where you can go to for help. You can call
one eight hundred sixty six to help, but when I
promise you, it's a no judgment zone and this is
something that you need to find the right tools to
be able to cope with this. I just know that
your woman will also be very proud of the fact

(16:35):
that you went and started to get help for this
and be supportive because if she loves you, she wants what's.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
Best for you.

Speaker 10 (16:41):
Okay, you're right about that. You know.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
I think you know what you need to do, and
I know it's hard to take those first steps, but
once you do, you'll be glad that you did.

Speaker 10 (16:50):
That's fucking I'm going to look into. So I'm going
to look into that a step too, ma'am.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
As far as we get.

Speaker 6 (16:55):
Off the phone, things that nature I'm gonna look.

Speaker 10 (16:58):
Into starting today.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
Appreciate that. Can you call back and check in with
me too, please?

Speaker 4 (17:03):
Imst definitely can now.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
I would love that And if it makes you feel better.
The cost of alcohol because of these tiers is so high.
It's going to save you some money too.

Speaker 8 (17:11):
You right about that, right about you, right about that.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Listen, we're about to start drinking plenty of water and
being house y'all.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Thank you for calling.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
And I'm really I pray for you too, because I
know you can do this, all.

Speaker 4 (17:26):
Right, Thank you, ma'am.

Speaker 10 (17:27):
Man please keep me your prayers.

Speaker 6 (17:29):
Man, I will keep everything now.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
I cannot wait to hear from you. Thank you for calling.

Speaker 11 (17:35):
All right, You're welcome now, all right.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Well that was ask ye eight hundred two nine two
fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through, you could
leave a message and ask whatever question that way. And
when we come back, man Jee Herbalt is going to
be joining us. He's got a new album on the
way low herb so you know he's flashing back to
the beginning of his career when he was a badass kid,
and we're gonna talk to him about everything he's got
going on. Really a great interview, Gee, Herbo is always

(17:59):
a good sit down.

Speaker 12 (18:00):
It's way about to do this one of theos the
famous women in radio audio.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
We're talking about Angela. Ye, you're way up with Angela. Ye,
please believe that.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
What's up its way up with Angela.

Speaker 9 (18:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
And look who's in the building. Gee, Herber's here with me.
How are you feeling. I want you to clear something
up that was said.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
And I saw this headline on TMZ, and so I
really because I know you're very tapped in with everything,
and it says here that the headline is g herebro
was in agreement with President Donald Trump sending a National
Guard to Chicago.

Speaker 13 (18:30):
See, they'd be trying to like take my words and
take the stuff I say, and like twisted, I wouldn't
say I'm in agreement. They took that as like me
trying to make a political statement, Like you know what
I'm saying, I'm not political. Like all I said was
I'm just all for keeping the kids and the women
saying I'm a product of violence in my city.

Speaker 9 (18:49):
I'm all for like saving the youth.

Speaker 13 (18:51):
I don't really give us about grown men making dumb
ass decisions.

Speaker 9 (18:54):
I don't really care about.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
Like grown man making dumb decisions do come from the
environment that they were raising.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
We all do have to do better, and.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
I feel like sometimes it is just a lack of
like resources.

Speaker 13 (19:05):
It's always a lack of resources for sure, And like
that's why I'm so adamant about being a voice for
the voiceless. Like I didn't done so much of my
city as far as putting millions of dollars in the
city between Like me and my brother McKinley Nelson, like
we done really gave back tenfold when it came to
just being somebody that's gonna be on the forefront when
it comes to making a difference. That's why I speak

(19:27):
out about mental health and gun violence and all this
stuff because I come from that. I'm not a Trump
supporter or nothing like that. I'm not political at all,
to be completely honest with you for real. So it's
like I was just saying, whatever gonna stop the violence
in my city. It's certain people in Chicago, like they
don't really give a about the police. They're not scared
of about scared of the police, for real. So it's
like if the National Guard standing on the corner gonna

(19:49):
stop somebody from shooting a block up, I don't care.

Speaker 9 (19:51):
I'm cool.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
I saw somebody went on Live and was like and
they put up this story and they were like, don't
try that in Chicago, because let me tell you something.
We not going for that. I don't know if you
saw that, yeah saying that, and he was like, this
is a different place.

Speaker 9 (20:02):
That's somebody saying that.

Speaker 13 (20:04):
Who's going to be in the house who ain't never
did nobody or never not got probably no tough bone
in his body.

Speaker 9 (20:10):
They just want to go viral on the internet.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Right now, I'm talking to g Herbo.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
He's got new music out his new app and he's
got an album on the way, a little herb. You know,
you have some of the funniest moments on social media too.
I remember seeing somebody and you were like in the
background and they was like fake filming themselves, but they
was really filming you.

Speaker 9 (20:25):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah that was recently. Matter of fact,
Yeah that recently.

Speaker 5 (20:28):
I shot a video.

Speaker 9 (20:28):
I don't even know who that guy was.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
It's so weird that, but it went viral. It's like, yo,
if you want to take a picture with him, just.

Speaker 13 (20:34):
Say, like, I feel like he was recording. And then
I said so when I seen him, you look up. Yeah,
I'm like, what's up? You feel what I'm saying. I
don't get why people do that, man, that's so weird.
They just asked me, Yeah for sure, Like, uh what
that was probably like a week ago. I was in Philly,
Me and my security was like having a debate. They
thought I was arguing with my girl.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
I saw that that somebody felt that.

Speaker 13 (20:54):
They thought I was arguing with Tana, but I wasn't
even to argue with her. They walked up on it.

Speaker 9 (20:57):
Tana was tapping me, trying to tell me like let
the window.

Speaker 13 (21:00):
Up, like you arguing and you yelling and fans outside
recording you, like, let the window up. She told me
at least three or four times before that girl walked
up to me.

Speaker 9 (21:08):
It was like let the window up.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
And then the other thing that always comes up is
you and Faara Hun. You were like, whoever did this
is up?

Speaker 13 (21:15):
That was his fault. I'm gonna be completely honest with you.
I was still drunk from the night before, leaving the club,
trying to talk to eight in the morning, Man, nine,
am I guarantee you I was leaving the club at
probably five six? He call him like, yeah, the minister.
They called me to what they wanted like, Man, I'm like, bro.

Speaker 10 (21:33):
What you mean?

Speaker 13 (21:33):
Like I gotta go away? I don't know how my
arm did that I don't remember, man. All I know
is I was still drunk at the table at the
minister like, yeah, man.

Speaker 5 (21:42):
What's love?

Speaker 3 (21:43):
Respect every now and none?

Speaker 2 (21:45):
That picture just pop up, Yeah, and it's always funny
when you see it.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
Gee, Herbo's here. We got more with him when we
come back.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
He goes everywhere with his conversation, super honest and transparent.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
It's way up.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
Look, you want to know my name, Angela?

Speaker 3 (22:00):
What's up?

Speaker 2 (22:01):
Its way up with Angela. Ye, and g Herbo is
here with us today. We're talking about his new music.
He's got an album on the way, a little herb,
but he's.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
Been through a lot. Now let's talk about this song,
went Legit, Yeah, banger, appreciate it. It really paints a picture.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
But we got to ask you, like the deeper questions
about you know, what was going on in certain parts,
Like my.

Speaker 13 (22:19):
Music has always been a form of characture. I really
feel like I was fresh off of a long paragraph
reading tie in the Texas somewhere.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
She must have said, that's why you started a song
like that.

Speaker 13 (22:30):
And that's exactly where I started it like that, Like,
I guarantee you I could bet my bottom dollar that
me and he was argued before I went in the
studio every day, some new issues before with my kid
right now, but life still lick lying down to half
a million dollars whip. I wasn't trying to create that song.
I wasn't trying to create a hit record. Like we
were just in the studio and they told me the

(22:51):
rap and that was the first thing I could think
of when it just turned out.

Speaker 9 (22:54):
Like how it turned out.

Speaker 3 (22:55):
Right now, I'm talking to g Herbo. He's got new
music out.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
His new app and he's got an album on the HERB.
You know, you beat like a lot of the odds too,
just in a so many different situations, definitely. I know
you said you went to rehab twice, and they do
say people when they go to rehab, they normally don't
care a habit the first time they go. It does
require and some people also go to rehab and don't
want anyone to know about it.

Speaker 13 (23:16):
It was good for me, I really I did good
the first time I went to rehab though, like I
think I went in two thousand and seventeen or something
like that, and I was cleaned for like a year,
and then I lost my best friend and I relapsed, right,
I only want to get the most of me talking
about it, But like, I just felt like I experienced
so much stuff.

Speaker 9 (23:36):
I've been losing friends since I was in middle school.

Speaker 13 (23:39):
And I was at a point of my life where
I felt successful. I had just had my first kid,
I was on tour, like you know, I had moved
out of Chicago, and I felt like, Man, I don't
even gotta be in this no more longer I look
over my shoulder.

Speaker 9 (23:52):
I don't got to carry a gun. I felt like
I was just getting.

Speaker 13 (23:54):
To the point where I could make money and pull
my people closest to me out of it. And I
lost one of my best friends who I felt like
was gonna be a part of that when I have
felt like I know was gonna be a part of
that journey and be with me. Like that was one
of the main people I wanted to save his life,
you see what I'm saying, Like I wanted to get
him out of Chicago, get him in LA with me,
and show him his lifestyle. Because I first started doing

(24:18):
music when I was like sixteen fifteen, going on the
road doing shows seventeen eighteen nineteen.

Speaker 9 (24:24):
He never would come to me like he always wanted
to be in the hood.

Speaker 13 (24:27):
When I've started doing shows and getting famous, like everybody
wanna come, Like when you gotta show, I wanna come.

Speaker 9 (24:33):
I wanna come.

Speaker 13 (24:33):
People I don't even want to come, wanna come like,
And I used to have to beg him and come,
and he had never come. I got to a point
where now I got some real money, I'm in La,
like I'm thinking, I'm finna get a career, and my homiees, it's.

Speaker 9 (24:43):
Gonna all come to La with me, you know, And
then he got killed.

Speaker 13 (24:46):
It just made me real, real depressed, and I just
like I felt like I couldn't even be there for
my son at.

Speaker 9 (24:51):
The time, you know. And I just started back like
getting high, and then I had to go back to
you whatever.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
And that was like the survivor's remorse that you yeah.

Speaker 13 (24:59):
Yeah, for sure, losing him, losing my homie Cap who
passed away actually before him.

Speaker 9 (25:05):
Then my little brother passed away in twenty twenty one.
It was just like a.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
Lot on you, for real, that's a lot for anybody
to have to deal with.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
G Herbal's here and normally when we come back, you
guys would have the last word. But how could I
not have the last word with ge Herbal because so
much to talk about. He's got a new album on
the way. It's way up.

Speaker 5 (25:22):
It's gonna turn me up.

Speaker 4 (25:24):
Here we go up the this is way up with
Angela ye. What's up?

Speaker 2 (25:28):
Its way up with Angela yee. Now, normally you guys
would have the last word here, but today we are
gonna let ge Herbal.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Have the last word.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
Also, when the sound you kind of touched a little bit,
I think on on went legit the case that you
have recently that you managed to come through.

Speaker 13 (25:42):
Yeah, yeah, we really frustrated me for real, Like I
was surprised that all the people that wanted me to
go to grill.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
People think everything is so funny, like it's.

Speaker 9 (25:51):
They wanted me to go to jail. It was crazy
to me, Like I ain't naive. I know the internet
really don't love you, like.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Right, I think it's people online enjoy like those types
of headlines to because that's a big story, Nikki, where
were you and all this.

Speaker 12 (26:04):
Like oo right in the midst of it at every
court day and just giving them support. It was frustrating
for all of us that loved him because it was
a reality that he might have to actually go to jail.
A'mosan's godfather, right, So at the end of the day,
it was like, man, I'm thinking about that and how
we're gonna set this thing up if the worst scenario happens.

Speaker 9 (26:27):
And we prayed and God delivered.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
Yeah, No, that was a blessing because I know you
probably was thinking, I don't know what's about to happen.

Speaker 9 (26:35):
Yeah, I was definitely. I ain't gonna lie. I was
definitely nervous for real to the last second.

Speaker 13 (26:39):
I think about it, like I didn't been through so
much and overcame so much, and like be at that
point of my life in my career where like he
felna go to jail, right, it made all the success and.

Speaker 9 (26:49):
I was down there a million are eighteen nineteen years old?
What the reason do I have to go through wife fraud? Right?
Like I was real deal innocent, Like I didn't remember
do with that.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Talking to g Herbo, he's got new music out his
new app and he's got an album on the way,
a little herb as the album did get pushed.

Speaker 9 (27:06):
Back, right, Yeah, I pushed the album back up.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
Why did you push it back?

Speaker 9 (27:09):
And to finishing touches.

Speaker 13 (27:10):
I'm so like hands on and I feel like there's
gonna be such a special project.

Speaker 9 (27:14):
I didn't want to leave nothing out.

Speaker 13 (27:15):
Original day was supposed to be in October third, right
before my birthday, so I pushed them back to like
me and late October, just like two weeks for R
twenty twenty two, twenty three, I didn't really drop much
music because I was like getting my business in order
and just like getting my mental together.

Speaker 9 (27:30):
I was really shaken.

Speaker 13 (27:31):
Back from grieving and lost my little brother for them
two years, like I really fell into like alcoholism real bad,
Like I lost myself bad after my brother bad. Like
I admit, like I really wasn't myself. I turned to
a whole other person.

Speaker 9 (27:44):
Twenty twenty two twenty three.

Speaker 13 (27:46):
It was like a reality check for me for real,
Like just like all right, Ben, let me get my
business in order, let me figure out what I want
to do with my career music. Like I was just
winging it for like a year and a half two years.
So the last year twenty twenty four, twenty I just
want to kind.

Speaker 9 (28:01):
Of like figure out how to rap again. It's just
like go music out to see what it works. Yeah, Yeah,
for sure.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
You've done so many things that people haven't done. You
got the family a getting along everybody. I think that's amazing.
So congress on that because that was a journey. Sometimes
people can't even see that that will ever happen.

Speaker 9 (28:18):
I did, though, always been like a visionary. I'm like, man,
it's gonna be cool to get great or later, you know, and.

Speaker 13 (28:23):
It's all like, just just got to try to figure
out how to do the next best thing, because at
the end of the day, ain't nothing more important than
That's right.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
You got an apology from SALOONA Powell.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
Yeah you never seen you.

Speaker 9 (28:35):
Never seen that. Probably the only rapper I ever get
an apology from up.

Speaker 3 (28:38):
But I appreciate you for coming up.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
It's always great talking to you. Your interviews are always amazing.
