been a rock for me. We just moved from New
Orleans to Atlanta, and you know, she followed me to
come here, and we just I love her so much
and I just wanted to give her that recognition she

And you have such an unusual story because of your talent.
Just even the way when you first came out that
people were hearing about your going on tour with like
a snow Allegra and not even having full no projects.

I think she was just like was a fan of
just my voice, and it was just she was just like,
I gotta have you here somehow.

Do you know how unusual that is? Like the way
that a lot of things have transpired for you.

Yeah, And it's like it's kind of catching up now
in the sense of there's a lot of steps I
skipped that I wish I didn't skip because I would
have been able to learn certain things or navigate certain things.

Like what because I know you were discovered basically on SoundCloud,
not a lot of views on the SoundCloud and got
signed off of that, which is like, come on, that
doesn't normally happen.

Speaker 6 (03:39):
They wanted me to go and perform live at a
rehearsal studio to make sure.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
My voice was real, your voice, I'm not gonna lie
and the music your voice don't sound real until this
is how you really talk.

Speaker 6 (03:49):
Yeah, I love it too because it's like that means
it's unique.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
How important is writing for you? Because I know collaboration
is important too.

Speaker 6 (03:56):
It's extremely vital to my authority. But it takes a
lot out of me because I'm going back to specific
places and I'm literally visualizing it and it's like I'm
almost reliving those feelings and emotions again. And especially for
my new album, the vocal delivery is levels above my
last album.

Wow.

Okay, so you feel like you've outdone yourself. Oh yeah, yeah,
right now you hear it. Give is here with me
talking about his new album Beloved. Let's talk about twenties, Okay.
I think men try to act unemotional.

I don't know why.

You know, it's very few men that you could listen
to and he's talking about the heartbreak that he went through,
or I'm wasting my time with her, or even rather
be with you than someone new. I feel like women
stay in relationships a lot because of that, and we
talk about it and men do it, but they don't
express it.

That's one thing I want to push to the forefront,
like I'm not numbing my emotions. I'm sensitive and emotional.
It's also not healthy to me. So it's just like men,
y'all need to y'all need to cry a little more. Also,
girls love it. Oh god, yeah, I was love and emotional. Man,
it's not too like on hands. But it's like if
you if you han't a long day and you come

to your lady and be like I had a long
day and just lay on her lap. She loves that.
She's gonna rub your head and she's gonna be like,
he feels safe with me.

I'm gonna now give you on do you take accountability
for the things you do in relationships?

Yeah, but I ain't gonna put it on why that's
another album?

Because I feel like you're talking about some smooth things
that you have going on. It's making me be like, Okay,
he ain't just getting his heart broke. He's doing some
heartbreaking too.

But it's also I was just correct, like to set
it up, but no, but I think it was also
so I just turned thirty like four months ago, and
people are asking me like, how does it feel to
be thirty. I'm like, it feels the same, but I
can't it hasn't felt exactly the same. There's just a
level of awareness. So whenever I if I was, when

I was in the wrong, I genuinely didn't know any better.

Like in your twenties, like you said in the song,
you were learning yourself yeah too and learn yeah yeah.

And that's why I say six years going down to drain.
I guess I'm half to blame.

What do you think it is like in relationships that,
like you said, you were learning in your twenties, Yeah right,
But what is it that like hasn't connected? Like what
are some of the themes that you see and things
that haven't worked out for you?

Speaker 6 (06:42):
I grew up in a very masculine, overly assertive household,
and you can't talk to I mean, I'm sure you
can't talk to men like that, or you you for show,
can't talk to women like that. Even if it's like
you feel like you're right or you're a misunderstood that's
just a way to speak. So I think my delivery,

I think it always would get me into a place
where i'm just it'll make something bigger than what it
has to be.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Give me an example.

Speaker 6 (07:09):
Let's say I'm dating someone she's.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Like, you didn't text me for it, or before you
went to bed, my.

Speaker 6 (07:15):
Bad, I'm sorry I wanted to sleep. Then it's going
to be like, well you still could. I'm like, I
would be like I just said, like I just said,
oh sorry, Now we're about to go on the blow
and I'll just get riled up. But now I'll probably
be like, I understand where you're coming from, but I'm sorry,
I didn't mean.

It, and you're right.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
It is a lot of times delivery and communication because
it probably isn't easy to date somebody like it.

Speaker 6 (07:37):
No, no, But I'm also still finding the answers, and
I also learn it through songwriting. I'm still kind of navigating,
like why does this work right?

song because I love this song rather be I look
at it like sometimes we stay in something that may
we shouldn't because it's better than the unknown.

I was writing that from a place of whatever flaws
that I'm happening in this one. It was happening so
many times that I'm just gonna be like, Oh, this
is always going to happen no matter what relationship I'm in.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
See, there's a thing. That's how I was saying, what
is it?

Speaker 2 (08:16):
That is a common thing that you see in relationships
that don't work for you, So it keeps something happening.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
Yeah, at some point I gotta be like, at some
point I'm just like, wait, hold on, why is the
same thing happening? And then it could be hopeless about love,
like this ain't gonna ever work. And I think that's
like what thirties about, Yes, accountability.

The album is called Beloved, and so, like we said
when we saw the trailer for the album, it's a letter.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
So this is a letter to someone.

Speaker 6 (08:45):
I wanted to feel, like a letter to the listener.
Here's the story. If you're wondering where I've been at.
I also, I'm just a big fan on multiple meanings.
So Beloved, Beloved, it's a lot going.

Okay, yeah, but listen, I appreciate you. I know you
got a ton of things you're doing. But now that

Speaker 4 (09:52):
I was wondering if I should be the bigger person
and reach out to my son's father.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
Okay, what happened?

Speaker 5 (09:59):
So?

Speaker 8 (09:59):
My my son is six and his dad has only
seen him once in his entire life and that was
just because we pumped into each other at Walmart.

Speaker 6 (10:09):
So you don't want to be in your son's life.

Speaker 8 (10:11):
I don't know.

It's like he denied him. It was a lot because
he's dark skinned. My son is light skin. You know,
we got the DNA.

Test and it is his.

But then my son also has autism. He's like, I
don't know how that happened. It must be on news.
So yeah, we don't really.

Oh that's awful when you really need that extra help anyway,
Like it's already difficult enough, So what is it that
you want to do?

Speaker 4 (10:36):
I want to reach out, but at the same time,
I don't want the headache if it turns into you know,
like constant arguments or trying to force a child on him.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Number one, reaching out is not for you.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
It's for your son. So what about his family? Are
any of them ever involved?

Speaker 3 (10:54):
No? Do you have a monchale support or anything.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
He is paying child support?

Speaker 6 (10:59):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (11:00):
Does he always or he's ordered to pay it? Does
he always pay it?

Speaker 1 (11:03):
No?

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Okay, so he's really just getting away scott free like
from his responsibilities.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Yeah, I do think.

It's worth having a conversation about are you going to
step up or not and giving him the opportunity and
space to do that. I know that sometimes when people
break up it can be not an easy time. But
as things start to calm down and feelings and emotions
calm down, sometimes that's the time to do it.

And at the end of the day, it's hard.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
To force somebody to be in your child's life when
they really don't want to. So all you can do
is do your best in giving that opportunity.

If he doesn't take.

It, is that's on him, and that's going to be
his crust to beer later on in life when he
regrets not having been there the way that he should have. Okay,
And it sucks that you have to be the quote
bigger person, but this is not about you at all.

I've reached out before, but then it always led to
like some kind of argument and then we stop, you know, communicating,
and then we ran into each other Walmart, which is
the first time he saw him.

Like, we don't even have each other's phone numbers there.

Yeah, that's crazy.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
Yeah, I'll reach out.

All you can do is make that effort.

And if he's not going to step up to the plate,
forcing someone to do that is really hard, you know,
continue to make him financially handle his business. I see
why people be blessed to people online though, you know
how people be like, oh, why do they have to
put it online? Because you try every other avenue and
when this person is just not responding and just know
that time is something that you can never get back,

and this is going to be his problem later on
when he's like, dang, I should have really, you know,
did more?

but it was a metaphor.
