Speaker 1 (00:01):
You are.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
What I call her?

Speaker 3 (00:06):
Ye yeah, what's up as well?

Speaker 4 (00:14):
You put angela yea and Happy Thursday. Today is actually
the day that we are getting ready to get it
all together for same time at the same time as
Carnival is this weekend. But you know, Juve is happening.
There's a lot of fun things going on really all
week so this is actually the largest carnival they've had

(00:34):
this year. So this year is going to be the
biggest one in St. Thomas. And I was there last year,
so last year was big, but it feels like this
year when you see all of the people that are
going to be there, all of the different performances, it's
going to be a time. And we'll be broadcasting live
on Friday with some very special guests joining us, so
make sure y'all lock in tomorrow. But we also today

(00:56):
have another special guest joining us. Jim Jones is going
to be here, Oh my gosh. And you know him
and Mano have a group together called the Lobby Boys.
But there's been a lot going on with Jim Jones
and the news. He also does have a new album
out it's called At the Church Steps. We'll talk about
all of it it's way up. When we come back,
Let's shine a light on somebody doing something positive. Eight

(01:16):
hundred two nine two fifty one fifteen.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
I'm shine, I'm shine. Turn your lights on, y'all spreading
love to those who are doing greatness. Shine a light on,
Shine a light on. It's time to shine a light on.
What's up?

Speaker 4 (01:33):
His way up with Angela Yee, And it's time to
shine a light And today I want to shine a
light on someone named Mario Kelly. Now he was not
so long ago homeless and sleeping in his van in Detroit.
Now he's a self made millionaire and he lives in
a beautiful home. He was featured as twenty twenty four's
Entrepreneur of the Year in Beautiful and Machine magazine. Now,

(01:54):
at a certain point, he was married, working at four
but then eventually found himself divorced, unemployed and living in
his van, and he believed in a better future. He
noticed police placing an abatement notice on a rundown house
and that there were hazards inside, and he learned more
about the problems of the home, and he believed that
he could handle that himself, so he bought the house
from the owner. For sixty five hundred dollars and then

(02:15):
fixed everything up by himself, room by room. Then after that,
he overheard an employee complaining about the poor job that
their current cleaning service was doing, and he told them
he had a cleaning company, but he didn't, he only
had some cleaning supply. So he ended up landing this
cleaning contract and starting his own business three one three Cleaning.
So shout out to him for that. So I imagine

(02:37):
that he went from living in his car and being
un housed to having a multimillion dollar business. Shout out
to Mario Kelly. Now, kay, who do you want to
shine a light on? I want to sign the light
on my man, my man, Okay, shine a light on him.

Speaker 5 (02:52):
I just want to thank him for being such a
great step glass to my daughter, and for being a
good man, and for being a hard work in diesel mechanic,
and for taking care of the household.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
I love that you love your man. But did something
happened last night? You had a good night?

Speaker 5 (03:08):
Actually, you know, we went to sleep. It was a
good sweet that's.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
A good night.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
You sound like you're glowing today. Well, you know what
you gotta do tonight? When you get home. I am,
I am, okay, okay. What's your man's name? Don Juan,
Don Juan Kay loves you all right, Well, thank you
for calling.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
Thank you, good day, Thank you too.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
All right. Well that was shine a Light eight hundred
and two ninety two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't
get through, you could leave a message in China light
that way. And you know, don't forget. Jim Jones is
going to be joining us later. And you know Mayno's hair.
He's part of the lobby Boys, so the two of
them together is gonna be mayhem. But Jim Jones has
been in the news a lot, and I know he
does not shy away from answering questions.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
It's way up, so about last night?

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Yeah, I went down what's up? His way up at Angela. Yeah,
and it's time for about last night now. Just so
all y'all know I have been running on fumes. But
the main thing is I am getting ready to go
to Saint Thomas. We are broadcasting live tomorrow and what
I had to do last night, y'all are gonna hate

(04:12):
me for this, but I decided to start working out
a little late. I know I should have been doing
this months in advance of this trip. But I do
have this I Fit app, and I'm gonna tell you
the accountability that it has for you. I feel like
this phone is sending me rude messages about the fact
that I have not been working out. I'm gonna read
you one of the messages that it sent me from
their little AI trainer, and I said little like that

(04:35):
because I'm irritated. It says, Hey, Angela, I noticed you
missed the get Fair workout one this morning. No worries.
Do you still want to work on it today? Are
you thinking about trying something new? Also, if the seven
am time or the current workout days aren't working for you,
we can definitely adjust them. Let me know how I
can help. Why did that irritate me? And then it said, Hi, Angela,
in your fitness journey, the direction you're heading is more

(04:55):
than important than where you are right now. Keep moving forward.
By the way, how much what did do you drink
in a day? I'm not gonna lie. I felt a
little attacked, but I also felt a little bit of
a call for accountability, which I definitely need. So after
receiving those messages last night, I said, I gotta go
home and do a little workout and get ready for
this trip. So I went home last night, did a

(05:15):
little workout, and then I started packing. Of course, I
always wait to the last minute to do absolutely everything
that I have going on. So that was my whole
night last night. But when we come back, you know,
since I am headed to St. Thomas to broadcast live,
I am going to tell you guys about what Carnival
was like in St. Thomas last year and what you
can expect this year. This year is different. We are

(05:37):
going to be broadcasting live. I'll give you some details.
It's way up.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
It's way up with Angela. Let's go. You are a
media maven, right.

Speaker 6 (05:44):
You never know what AND's gonna say.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
What's up is way up at Angela. Ye, And right
now we are headed to Saint Thomas. We are broadcasting
live tomorrow. It's Carnival time. So if you've never been
to a carnival, you need to come out to this one.
Last year we have had an amazing time. This is
my second time doing it. Last year we had a
chance to see Sizzler perform and he put on quite
a show. Also Shaggy Nila Blackman. When I tell you

(06:09):
we had so much fun. We did Juve where you
get up really early in the morning. It is long
fun days. And then we did the actual carnival where
we were in the street walking having a good time,
not just walking but doing our little you know, doing
our little bop. And this year is going to be
even better. All of us are outside. I told you already,

(06:30):
Shaba Ranks and Kess are going to be headlining, and
we are going to have some special guests coming through
for the live broadcast tomorrow. So I don't want to
get y'all too excited, but yes, some really huge, huge
artists are going to be coming through. Shout out to
the commissioner Joe, who has us back again this year, who,
by the way, is quite a time. But if you're

(06:50):
gonna be in St. Thomas, or if this is something
you even ever considered, when I'm telling you, you need
to make it happen. But if you're gonna be there,
look for us. Okay, we are going to be outside
having a good time. If we are embarrassing ourselves, please
do not post it on social media. Let's just keep
that between us, all right. And the other thing that's
happening is we are looking for a wife from Mano.
We are going full steam ahead this weekend. This wedding

(07:12):
for him is happening in July, so we gotta gotta
get this woman on board. He's got everything else set up,
all right, It's way up. When we come back, we
have under the Radar. These are the stories that are
not necessarily in the headlines. They're flying under the radar,
but you need to know about them. It's in the news.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
That relates to you. These stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
What's up? Its way up with angela Ye, and it's
time for under the Radar and now Navy, I might
need you to chime in on this one.

Speaker 7 (07:38):
Let's do it.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
This is about a new reality show that's going to
be on TLC and it's a new original series called Virgins.
It's gonna follow the journeys for adults in their thirties
and forties who are looking to finally go all the way.

Speaker 7 (07:53):
Why do you think alan want to.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
Well, I thought you'd never mind. I don't want to
put your business out there. You can lie to these people.

Speaker 7 (08:05):
On dis god Thursday.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
Well listen, it's four people who are leading the series'
premieres on June ninth. But the goal is for them
to lose their virginity. They're gonna participate in new experiences
like first dates, bondage classes. That's a bit much for
somebody who's a virgin and even working with an intimacy partner. So, yes,

(08:28):
it is this something you would watch.

Speaker 7 (08:30):
I think it'd be hilarious. You know what I will watch.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
You wouldn't be casted for it. No. Wait, something is
a little weird to me about you know. I guess
having people I don't know. Anyway, they're in their thirties
and forties. It's something they signed up for. I guess
that they want to do lose their virginity. This is
I wonder if you're born again if that counts, because

(08:54):
you're not technically well anyway, that is, you're under the radar.
Don't forget. We have the way it makes it the
time of the hour. Plus, Jim Jones is gonna be
joining us today. His album at the Church Steps is
out right now. But Jim Jones stays in the news.
No matter what is our press, good press, we'll talk
about it. It's way up.

Speaker 8 (09:13):
We about to do this, Yeah, y'all more way up
with Angela on Now you.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Know what it is, you know who it is?

Speaker 4 (09:20):
What's up this way up? But the Angela yee. And
as you know, tomorrow we are broadcasting live from the
US Virgin Island of Saint Thomas. It's carnival time. Maybe
I gotta ask you what has been your best vacation,
because we went to the same Thomas last year and
it definitely rings up there with like a top experience
for me. Uh.

Speaker 9 (09:39):
For me, it's definitely when I went to Walt Batos
my grandfather back in twenty twelve and again in twenty seventeen.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
What made it so great?

Speaker 9 (09:47):
So my entire life always claimed Jamaican, but my grandfather's
telling from more Batos and for the first time at
the inbaging things, I got to see where he grew up.
I met his friends. I saw my great grandmother's grave.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
Oh wow.

Speaker 9 (09:59):
I got to take experience a whole side of my
culture I didn't even know was mine.

Speaker 4 (10:03):
You know that's interesting you say that because Mano, he
has family from Saint Thomas and Saint Croix, and I
told him he doesn't even understand how this is going
to affect him, to see like family and hopefully meet
people who he's related to, because he does still have
family there and people he's never met before. And you know,
DJ whatever, his family is also from Saint Thomas. Yeah,

(10:26):
and he actually has family there. And my girl Jasmine
and Lloyd who owned Jasmine's Caribbean, and Samer her family's
actually from Saint Thomas. So we're all going to be
out there.

Speaker 7 (10:36):
That's great.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
We're gonna have a time, y'all.

Speaker 7 (10:39):
Feel like it's a little homecoming.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
Yeah, it is going to be like that, So I'm
excited for it. But yeah, shout out to you for that,
for going to Barbados and feeling the connection to your family.
All right, Well again, we're going to be broadcasting live
from Saint Thomas Carnival tomorrow, so make sure you guys
keep it locked. You don't know who's going to show up,
and you don't know what type of condition will be
in because it's a party. It's a NonStop party.

Speaker 8 (11:03):
It's way up, whether it's relationship for career advice, Angela's
dropping facts.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
This is as gee, what's up? His way up with
Angela Yee? I'm Angela Yee and it's time for ask ye.
Eight hundred two ninet two fifty one fifty is a number.
If you have any questions, I'm here to help you,
and today I have Tiffany on the line. What's up, Tiffany?

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Hey, y, how are you?

Speaker 4 (11:24):
I'm good? Thank you? How you feeling.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
I'm okay, a little conflicted, but I'm okay, all right,
I'm here for it.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
What's your question?

Speaker 1 (11:32):
All right?

Speaker 3 (11:32):
Ye?

Speaker 1 (11:33):
So I had a best friend of ten years and
recently I found out that you've been cheating on her fiancee.
Now we all are friends, we met in college, Okay,
and I feel goodhead because he's a really really great guy,
like he does so much for her, and they are
supposed to get married in May. Now again, I'm friends
with the both of them. I miss him at the

(11:54):
same time, so nobody's over the other person, and I
feel like I should say something to him, but I
don't want to win their marriage or their potential marriage,
So like, what do I do?

Speaker 4 (12:06):
I think all you can do in a situation like
that is say something to her about it, about are
you sure you want to get married? You're cheating on him.
I'm not comfortable with this. I'm friends with both of you,
and if you plan to tell him. You should tell
her that.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
Okay, yeah, I think I'm going to tell him because
I don't like the way she's treating him. We have
a conversation already and she says she's going to stop,
but she hasn't. So I'm going to tell him.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
And you know, be prepared for the fact that maybe
they're still going to get married. I don't know. If
you have some evidence, you know that you can be
like this is how because she could deny it if
she's still going to keep on doing it anyway, and
convince him that it's not true. And so just be
prepared that this is definitely going to affect your friendships.
But you have you know, you have to know that.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
Yeah, you know what, Thank you so much you for that,
because again, I think that's a character flaw and I'm
prepared to lose her as a friend.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
Okay, maybe me and him to day. Okay, all right,
and you have something that you could so because what
if she denies it, No.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
We talked through text, she has we have text messages.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
Okay, all right, Well that's that's why I want to
make sure that you're protected in the situation because he
could still say all right, and they could go through
it and they could still end up getting married, and
then she could say I don't want you to be
friends with her either.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Now that's true, but she came to not ease test messages,
so I'm ready.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
Okay, all right, Well there you have it, Tiffany. It
sounds like you already knew what she was about to do.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
So yeah, I did, but I wanted to revise.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
Okay, that's it. I'm glad you got all your basis covers,
you got the messages. You know. As a rule for me,
I try not to get involved with things like that.
But marriage is a big deal. And you already told
her and confronted her about it, and your friends with
both of them, and you let her know, and she's
still being deceitful. And my whole thing is when people
are cheating and they get caught, don't be mad at
the person that's allD be mad at yourself.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
Be mad at yourself. And again, we are all friends.
We all went to call together and grew up together,
hang out. So she's putting me in a really bad position.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
Right, If she wanted to cheat and be low, you
shouldn't have been involved, like to know about it.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
Okay, period, thank you.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
All right, no problem, Tiffany. See y'all better stop cheating
out there. Well that was ask ye eight hundred and
two nine two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through,
please leave a message, or you can go on the
iHeartRadio app. You can click that microphone and you can
talk to me that way. We will answer your question.
And when we come back, Jim Jones is gonna be here.
He'll be answering all the questions. He'll be with his

(14:36):
lobby boy may Or. The two of them are a
group as well. We'll have a whole lot of fun
and really open transparent conversations. It's way up.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
It's gonna turn me up.

Speaker 4 (14:48):
Here we go up through.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
This is way up with Angela. Ye, what'sn't up?

Speaker 4 (14:53):
Its way up and Angela yeah. Lobby boys here, yeah,
Jim Jones and may know the two them have been
getting into it just now.

Speaker 7 (15:02):
That was the two of us.

Speaker 8 (15:03):
You didn't you didn't say the part that you put in,
like your two cents that was added.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
You can't you know what?

Speaker 7 (15:09):
You know what they met about before they make their statement,
they mad that best Stars considered.

Speaker 8 (15:13):
The Hall of so now, so now they want to
come with this rhetoric.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
I don't know if people really realize that Harlem is
part of Manhattan though, like because of the way it's marketing,
don't it's marketing a bone. Yeah, it's not.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Thing.

Speaker 7 (15:31):
It's like the Magic Kingdom. It's match. It's basically we
got most just in your mind.

Speaker 8 (15:37):
In your mind, like one of the bus Realm, the
Hall of them non buses.

Speaker 7 (15:43):
I don't even know how bus.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
You had a great series on Prime though, Harlem, the
series on Prime that was a nice I didn't get
to see it. Yeah, no, you got to watch it.
It's it's you know, it's very representative of Harlem. But
today Harlem. You know what I think too, to your
point when it comes to discussing gentrification, that it is
also important for people to get their contractor's license, to
become a GC, to do all of those things so
that we can also be part of that.

Speaker 7 (16:06):
That's good.

Speaker 8 (16:07):
I do think that women to learn, we would need
to learn that, educate ourselves to educate, and that's a
problem with we don't have the best education when it
comes to financial literacy or things like that. When it
comes to gentrification and how we could be included on
the big side of things, but on the flip side,
I think the small parties. These people who are building things,
storefronts that come with stores and they opening them, and
they're not including the people that come from my neighborhood.

Speaker 7 (16:28):
And that's a red flag to me.

Speaker 4 (16:29):
I remember you had Adega oh Man talk to me
about that, because before we even.

Speaker 8 (16:34):
Go any first, the lady that was my partner in
that name was Mama Cy and she ended up getting killed.

Speaker 7 (16:44):
In front of her building in my neighborhood in Harlem,
on my block, and I just want to send my prayers,
my condolences.

Speaker 8 (16:51):
I mean, if it was hungry, should go upstairs and
cook for you, Like how heart was the reason why
I tried to help her with her store when she
was in the midst of losing things like that.

Speaker 7 (17:01):
She has, she's a mother, she she is a grandmother.

Speaker 8 (17:05):
She ran outside trying to figure out if her grandson's
out there and got hit.

Speaker 7 (17:11):
With a stranger.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
Oh my gosh, it's just so cold.

Speaker 8 (17:14):
And I'm so disappointed in my neighborhood. I'm so disappointed
in myself because the generation that comes up after us
is a generation that we raised, and we're not raising
them the way we need to, you know what I mean,
Like we need to take accountability and responsibility for how we.

Speaker 7 (17:31):
Raise our kids.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
Right now, Mano is having a blast because his guy
Jim Jones is here with us. It feels like you're
the master of the All press is good press.

Speaker 8 (17:41):
All press can be good pressed if you know how
to finance it. I know how to take a negative
and turn it into a positive. That's where it works
for me. So and he pressed the surrounding and negative
things about me, I'm going to turn it into a
positive because I know nine times out of ten it's
a lie, and I am the truth, you know what
I mean, And I ain't no way he gonna be
able to hear the truth until I tell it.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
Now, we definitely want to ask you what I want
to get from you, just because you spent time with
Kanye and then all of that happened everywhere, right, A
lot happened with that.

Speaker 8 (18:07):
Everything I've done with Kanye has been on my down.
So let's not get this. But I paid up was
it fifty thousand dollars to get the japan In back,
And that's straight. I went out there for the experience yer,
do some fashion, bring chunks of clothes. Everything was cool,
like the normalcy that I seen in him out there,
or it was perfect like fast forward he went to
La everything was still dope. It's just that I don't know.
He just ended up thinking that I probably was in

(18:29):
his employer or some sort like. I think he just
needs a lot of normal people around hi, because one
thing I did notice is that when I was around him,
I bring a lot of normal ship to the table
that he appreciated. He has a bunch of yes people
around him, people that's going to say yes and do
everything that he wants to do. But boy got a
little screws obviously from the things that he been talking about.

(18:52):
My dude, see that he needs attention, like he seems
the most, the most attention.

Speaker 7 (18:55):
In the world.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
Tim Jones is here at the church. Steps is out
right now, and when we come back, we got more
with him. You know, he's been in the news a lot.
We'll discuss all the headlines.

Speaker 8 (19:05):
It's way up, way up with Angela Yee more now.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
What's up his way up? But Angela Yee. I'm here
with my guy, my b r F, my best rapper friend,
Mano and we got Harlem Zone Jim Jones with us.

Speaker 8 (19:20):
So I've created my own technology with Amazon. You think
I don't know how to do a PDF. Oh, like
you see, I know how to engineer in my own sessions.
You see you put build computers by myself.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
What that was quarantine studios?

Speaker 2 (19:33):
Ye?

Speaker 7 (19:33):
Like, yes, of course I know how to do a pup.
But you're not gonna steal a sauce. That's another thing.
A lot of these kids they have it, but they
don't have the sauce. You might got the packaging, but
you don't got the sauce to sell.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
What is the thing that has worked for you the most?
Outside of music?

Speaker 7 (19:49):
Reality TV has always been a home run. That's probably
that was And.

Speaker 8 (19:54):
Even now they still cause like I know, they do
throw out a million dollar dollar check like it ain't
nothing like yo, three days?

Speaker 7 (20:01):
Would you do it again?

Speaker 1 (20:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (20:02):
I'm taking that that male skill.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
So you are doing it?

Speaker 8 (20:06):
I mean yeah, I've never turned to damn because I've
always so aggressive and doing reality TV.

Speaker 7 (20:12):
That's what made it shaky for me.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
You know them people and look at that and way
later you and Christy still together. So she just had
her birthday got that g wagon.

Speaker 7 (20:23):
Got that g wagon? Dragon heard?

Speaker 4 (20:25):
How do you even decide what to buy Christy for
her birthday?

Speaker 8 (20:29):
I tell her, she has to tell me. Okay, I
figure to take it back, like, no, I'm not Jack.

Speaker 7 (20:35):
You got the receipt.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
You got the receipt all right.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
Now, I want I want to question you about some
things that you've said in the past. A couple of
years ago, you said Drake is the greatest of all time. Okay,
so that still stands.

Speaker 7 (20:47):
Yeah, teddy girl. So this summer, she's gonna say to
Drake what you really going to do with him?

Speaker 8 (20:54):
He's changed the way that we listen to music in
the past ten years wholeheartedly. And when everybody that's been around,
he's changed helped change their sound. Also for all our
favorite rappers you need the top rapper right now, he's
has helped them tremendously out in their career by just
jumping on a record of putting them on a tour.
You know. I mean like he's done more for our

(21:15):
culture than most of these people. I mean, like you
think about it, if Lebron don't make it past and
in them, then would they be like Lebron is not
the greatest, No.

Speaker 7 (21:25):
One, No, he's still the greatest. Don't change who we are.

Speaker 4 (21:27):
It's just to drizzy Right now, Mano is having a
blast because his guy Jim Jones is here with us.
But you actually were on camera on his first album.

Speaker 8 (21:37):
Helped him right every one of his albums, every one
of his albums from his first album to Maybe up
to the first that album he did after Diplomatic, like
come Home with Me, his album he did.

Speaker 7 (21:49):
On you was on the first one, the Jimmy Yeah,
and I always know how to rap, but this doesn't
know how to rap good.

Speaker 8 (21:57):
But I always knew how to bars and always you did,
you did, so it was like, but she I helped
up and write all this. People get nervous when they
say you don't need them no more, when you don't
need them to eat anymore. When you can do this
all on your own without it becomes chilling. And instead
of lifting that up, people try to tear me down.
And I've been protected by higher power, so everything has

(22:19):
already been laid out for me in life.

Speaker 7 (22:20):
No mate of what I want, Thank God. Faring to her.

Speaker 8 (22:24):
I bring these people to church they first time, and
these people even been to church, like I've done a
lot for this whole man. When I get a chance
to write a book, it's gonna be a dope best
all felt book.

Speaker 4 (22:33):
All of their spells. I gotta understand the title of
the album.

Speaker 8 (22:36):
I'm close as close to the God now. Yeah, I
feel good though, Like y'all just want to tell people
that's not.

Speaker 7 (22:42):
What this is all about. Man, like, Oh, I'm happy
to be where I'm at, you know what I mean.

Speaker 8 (22:46):
Like people will be like, yoh, don't bite the family
and fijis he never fed me.

Speaker 7 (22:49):
I felt myself. You're her. You know I'm not an artist.
That was my.

Speaker 4 (22:53):
Partner, right. You did well on that note, men know.
And I have to go find his wife. Absolutely least
we will be a like we'll be at the church
steps for her soon enough. I'm not I'm gonna help well.
