Speaker 1 (00:01):
You are now and what I call her?
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Yee hey, Yes, it's way up at Angela yee. I'm
here today on a Friday. It feels like a Monday.
I'm not gonna lie. I was driving into work today
and I was like, boy, there's not a lot of
traffic on a Monday. And then I had to stop
for a minute and be like, oh, today's Friday, Dan,
(00:29):
what's hap is here?
Speaker 3 (00:30):
How are you feeling today? I'm good. That's quite the
mix up in today's Monday.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
I'm glad it's not but Juneteenth. You know you had
off yesterday. You know what I did yesterday that was
so excited about?
Speaker 3 (00:40):
Cleaned up?
Speaker 2 (00:41):
My house has been a mess. I've been working every
single weekend NonStop. This weekend, I'm going to Detroit up though,
so I'll be out there as soon as I leave here.
But it feels so good to like clean out your house.
I had laundry just everywhere. I had stuff all in
my closet, everywhere it was. I felt like dishovel. When
my house isn't clean, I feel like I'm a mess.
(01:02):
But this is also exciting. It's a Kicky Palmer takeover.
Kiki Palmer and Taylor Parks are going to be joining us.
That is her co writer friend, best friend who she's
known since she was nine. They wrote her new project together,
just Kiki worked on that together, had a chance to
see some of those visuals and that is actually out today.
So why wouldn't we have Kicky Palmer take over. We'll
(01:23):
be talking to her. But let's start the show with
some love and some positivity. Let's shine a light eight
hundred two nine two fifty one to fifty. Call us up,
let us know who you want to shine a light on?
Its way up.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
I'm shine, I'm shine.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
Turn your lights on, y'all lights spreading love to those
who are doing greatness.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Shine a light on them, Shine the.
Speaker 5 (01:42):
Light on them.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
It's time to shine a light.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
On them, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
His way up with Angela Yee on this Friday and
today we want to shine a light on a couple
who just welcome their first child together. That is Joey
Badass and Sorea. Shout out to the two of them.
She shared the news on Snapchat. She's showed her newborns,
you know, the little leg with a little blue sock.
So that's the first peak at their little baby boy.
(02:06):
So congratulations to them. If you all recall, Joey Badass
was on lip service and said that he was polyamorous.
Well he has since said, you know, being with her,
he's now monogamous. They have a home together. They both
seem like they're extremely happy. So congratulations Sorea and to
Joey Badass their first child together. That child is going
to be so talented when it comes to singing, dancing, rapping,
(02:28):
whatever it is this kid wants to do, being an entrepreneur,
all of the things. So beautiful, beautiful thing. All right, now,
let's see who you want to shine a light on.
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty Oh speaking
of baby boys, here's baby boy nine oh four.
Speaker 6 (02:41):
Who do you want to shine a light on?
Speaker 7 (02:44):
Man? Oh, my cousin LATOI your cowho down here in Jacksonville, Florida. Okay,
I got as just called breaking generational curses. You feel
me like we come from that. You're heard, miss, So
I do want to shine light on what she's doing
for the family. Man like she been outspoken, she motivationless speaker.
And I'm pretty sure you can look out, you can
google youror know what I'm saying. Breaking generational curses. You know,
(03:05):
thank the tree shirts, the whole nine yards. You know
what I'm saying, if I want to shine a light
on up.
Speaker 6 (03:09):
All right, well, thank you so much for calling and
shout out to her.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
Let's try about you mane we way up, year we
way up.
Speaker 8 (03:17):
Thank you for calling.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
Well that was shining light eight hundred and two ninety
two fifty one fifty. Just in case you couldn't get through,
you can always leave a message in shine of light
for last word. And when we come back, we got
your yee t. And let's talk about Fat Joe. These
allegations against him and how he is responding.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
Its way up, they says proof in the room from
industry shade to all of gossip out sending Angela's speeling
that yet.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
It's way up at Angela ye and it's time for
your yea t.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Man.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
So, Fat Joe is facing a twenty million dollar lawsuit
and being accused of a lot of different things.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
I mean, uh, this lawsuit is.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Pretty long to read through the whole thing, But basically
the way this all went down is because this guy
Ta that used to work with him, I guess is
now saying because.
Speaker 6 (04:08):
Fat Joe doesn't mess with him anymore.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
That Fat Joe has done all these different things coercive
labor exploitation, financial fraud, sexual manipulation, violent intimidation, psychological coercion,
And I was I actually know him from Fat Joe,
So a long time ago, I was watching all of
this unfold on social media because he was talking crazy
about Fat Joe. But then his page got like deleted,
(04:31):
and then I guess all of this is popping up.
Speaker 6 (04:33):
Now, Dan, you remember that.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
I was like, well, yes, I remember showing me.
Speaker 6 (04:36):
I was like, what is this all about?
Speaker 3 (04:37):
To catch steam?
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Well, now there's lawsuits going back and forth because I
think Fat Joe had sued him for extortion because I
guess he was trying to get money from Fat Joe.
So now he has responded with these allegations. With this complaint,
he says that Fat Joe forced him into humiliating situations
like recorded sex acts, threats of abandonment in foreign countries
if he refused compliance. He was forced into more than
(05:01):
four thousand sexual acts to maintain his standing. But he
also is in this complaint talking about underaged girls, and
he says that he witnessed Fat Joe have sexual relationships
with two then fifteen year old and a sixteen year old.
Speaker 6 (05:15):
So yes, this is explosive.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
But Fat Joe's attorney has responded and he said that
this lawsuit is a blatant act of retaliation, a desperate
attempt to deflect attention from the civil suit we file first,
which exposed their coordinated scheme to mister Cartagena through lies, threats,
and manufactured allegations. We didn't just sue a disgruntled former
employee trying to revive a false claim from fifteen years ago.
(05:37):
We sued the lawyer behind it all. So they're saying,
law enforcement it is aware of the extortionate demand.
Speaker 8 (05:44):
At the heart of this scheme.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
I think that also hurts when you do try to
get money behind the scenes first and then you come
out with a lawsuit. Then it feels like what is
this about? Because if at the time, with these miners
and things like that, you weren't like.
Speaker 8 (05:58):
Hey, this is wrong, than is you know.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
But anyway, speaking of lawsuits and going to court and
all of that, Diddy, his alleged drug mule, is on
the stand today.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Brendan Paul.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
He's been given immunity by the judge and he has
confirmed to the judge that he received a subpoena and
he wants to invoke the Fifth Amendment. So we took
the stand today and this is going to revolve around
drugs more than anything else. And so the charges against
him were dropped after he completed a pre trial diversion
program and now he is testifying at this trial. I
don't know what's going to happen today, but we are
(06:34):
following and speaking of court, Chris Brown has pleaded not
guilty in this battle throwing attack that happened in the UK.
He's at back in court today to answer a charge
related to that twenty twenty three incident at a club
in London. During the hearing, he pled not guilty to
attempting to cause grievous bodily harm for throwing that bottle
allegedly at Abraham Dia inside of that club, and his
(06:56):
accomplice also pled not guilty to that same charge.
Speaker 6 (06:59):
So there you have it.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
A fan just got kicked out of one of his
shows because she quote unquote accidentally threw a drink ironically
ironically and here's what that sounded like, right, all right,
So that's it, and yeah, you got kicked out. How
do you accidentally throw a drink?
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Yeah, I understand that unless it was like in her hands,
she got excited and she threw her hands up.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Right, or somebody pushed her, well pushing, I don't know,
but like if you got excited your favorite song and
it's in your hand, you throw your hands up.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
That'd be the only thing I think that would make sense.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Your fans throwing things that people performing this is wild
to me. All right, well that is your Yet when
we come back, we have about last night. That's where
we discussed what we did last night. We had a
lot going on yesterday it was Juneteenth. We'll talk about
what we did up here. But then, also, people are
so mad about this lip service interview, that job, So
I just want to address that a little bit as well.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
Its way up, so about last night, Yes, I went down.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
All right, way up with Angela. Yee, who I am hoping?
There's no edibles in these cupcakes?
Speaker 3 (08:06):
What'd you say, Dan? That would be bad?
Speaker 6 (08:08):
What is this from?
Speaker 8 (08:09):
Oh? All right?
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Boo things? Anyway, shout out to Stacy Adams. Not that
Stacy Adams, but he makes these cupcakes and he brought
him in here let's talk about about last night. Yesterday
was Juneteenth. Now what I want people to talk about
more is how up here and way up with angela Ye.
The whole show was dedicated to highlighting black owned businesses
courtesy of my guy, John Laster, who owns an app
called Blap.
Speaker 6 (08:30):
And on Blap, there's.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
A map of black owned businesses in whatever area you're searching.
But now they also have an online store, so you
can actually go to Blap and purchase these black owned
items from that store. And it's something that he's been
building out. So shout out to John Laster for that.
Everybody who was paying attention going on and ordering things,
love you guys for that. Now let's get to what
goes viral And on lip Service, that Mexican Ot was on,
(08:57):
Cleo Trappa was guest hosting Lover. I think she's amazing,
and one of the conversations with that Mexican Ot was
him feeling like he's not cancelable.
Speaker 5 (09:05):
Here's what he said, but I can't get canceled because
I didn't sell my music. I saw me and these
these people know who I am, and they love me
and they appreciate me, and that's why I can go
jump off a bridge and need a bullet and they.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
Gonna love it, all right, So you agree with that
when I understand what he's saying, right, he's saying that
it's not like a gimmick or he needs.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
It's his personality.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Yeah, it's and the people that love him will love him.
Then Cleo Chappa asked him about using the N word.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
What the are you going to do about it? You know?
Speaker 5 (09:38):
And then second of all, I grew up loving these mothers.
I mean, it was It's what the God was surrounded by.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
You know.
Speaker 5 (09:44):
I respect people that they feel that way, and that's
why I try to shut up about it. But if
you're from where I'm from or anywhere, what the are
you gonna do about it? And not even trying to
justify But y'all just got dropped off before us.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
We're from the same boat.
Speaker 5 (09:59):
All right.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
Now.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
People who were furious, yes, they were about this, and
this has been an ongoing conversation whether or not people
of Latin descent can use the N word, right, And
you know, we're from New York and so I think
there's a lot of Dominican people, people that are also
like Afro Latino and they use that word. Personally, I
cannot stand when I hear people saying that out in public,
(10:22):
even black people, like in front of white people.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
It bothers me.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
And I remember one time I walked into a bar
in Brooklyn. It was in a neighborhood in Brooklyn that
was like very white, and it was all white people inside,
and I heard them using the word but to each other,
and then it was like the music stop when I
walked in because they didn't realize black people were actually
coming in here.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
So the word.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
But I respect the fact that he said that he
respects what other people think about it. The problem is
that he's around people all the time where you know,
that's their term of endearment or how they refer to
each other, and so it's just an ongoing conversation. He
didn't sit there and actually say the word, which would
have been crazy, because he said he respects you know
how people feel about it. But I guess to him,
(11:06):
he grew up and around people using it and they
didn't have.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
An issue with it. But he does say it in
his music. Yeah, he does say it in his music
well a lot, but it's not like a crutch.
Speaker 8 (11:16):
But he says it, he said it.
Speaker 6 (11:17):
Yeah, so it's just a crazy conversation to have.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
I wish that I'm gonna be honest, I wish everybody
would stop saying it because even when on lip Service,
you know, Stephanie Santiago, when she was on and Gigi
brought this up, she used to use that word a lot,
and I had to be like, girl, you got to
to And she's not saying it in like a harmful way,
she's just yeah, she's Puerto Rican and she was used
to saying it in her real life.
Speaker 6 (11:38):
And even she was like, ooh, this is you know,
I got to stop.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
But it was also due to her upbringing.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Yeah, so he was saying it's culture more than anything.
But that word is something that is Listen, if people
have a problem with it, how about just don't do it.
Speaker 6 (11:50):
That's how I feel.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
All right, Well, that is you're about last night when
we come back, we have tell us a secret. Eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifty is a number
any secret that you have us up and tell us
all right? Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.
It's a no judgment zone.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
It's way up, Joe, She's about to blow the lead
ab off this, but let's get it. Oh yeah, angelus
feeling that yee te come and get the tea.
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Yes, it's way up with Angela. Yee, I'm here.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
I'm actually getting ready to go to Detroit. And speaking
of Detroit, let's get into some of this, yee t.
Eminem Stalker has been sentenced to the maximum thirty years
for home invasion. He broke into M's house twice over
the last five years. Matthew David Hughes, he's going to
serve fifteen to thirty years on first degree home invasion
and three to seven years and six months on aggravated
(12:35):
stalking for breaking into his house in August of twenty
twenty four. So he's eligible for parole after a minimum
of eighteen years served. You know, we told Eminem he
was going to kill him, according to testimony from a detective.
So yeah, by the way, that's a that is like
a pretty long sentence.
Speaker 6 (12:52):
I didn't feel like he was going to get that.
What'd you think, damn when you saw that.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Thirty years is crazy, but so were death threats.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
Yeah yeah, and breaking into somebody's home twice, right repeated? Yep,
all right, Now let's talk about our guys.
Speaker 6 (13:03):
Skill a Baby.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
You know, thank God he's okay after all that he's
been through. He recently put out this freestyle kind of
addressing the situation of him getting shot.
Speaker 6 (13:13):
I know for diggers, I fear God talk my truck
up twenty times.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
I'll never cried.
Speaker 7 (13:18):
I'm Youngergains keep tapping me and they begging me to fly.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
They pushed up on a millionaire.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
They having too much time.
Speaker 8 (13:23):
They said money.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
They don't win in all work.
Speaker 8 (13:25):
They can probably think like that.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
It's because they all poort.
Speaker 7 (13:28):
I heard them.
Speaker 6 (13:29):
Seeing that I checked them, you'll sort begin to asimbitionous.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
I hurt my hand in the start of war, and
he posted. Thank you to everybody for all your prayers.
I'm good mentally, and I know God wouldn't put me
through nothing I can't handle man. Skill a Baby is
like the coolest, chillest person. I hate to see things
like this happening to him, So prayers always to cover
and protect Skill a Baby. Now let's talk about this
Billboard list of seventy five best R and B singers
(13:54):
of all time. I don't know what made them do
this list, but this caused so much content. So best
R and B singers? Who is your favorite R and
B singer?
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Danne personally the weekend?
Speaker 6 (14:08):
I don't know if the we can make the Oh
he is?
Speaker 3 (14:10):
Where's he?
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Forty seven? What about you, Navy Jess, you can tell me. Okay,
it's between Bobby Calwell or Miguel all right? Did Bobby
Carwell did not make the list and Miguel did not
make the list either, right?
Speaker 3 (14:23):
Did he?
Speaker 6 (14:24):
I was surprised I said that one person.
Speaker 8 (14:25):
I said.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
I was like, is Miguel on the list? You know
who I love? And I didn't see them on the
list either. And this list is extensive. Seventy five I'm
still checking.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
Wait, who did you say?
Speaker 6 (14:36):
You said, Bobby Caldwell?
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Okay, Many Ripperton, I didn't see her on the list
unless I'm mistaken, do you guys see Many rippertend?
Speaker 3 (14:43):
No, no, she's not. Let's run through the top ten
real quick.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
Hold on, I'm gonna say first, I'm gonna say who didn't
make it. Denise Williams. Didn't see her on there too?
Silly free you know, just yeah, love me some, Denise Williams.
But in the top ten we have Marvin Gay at
number ten, Number.
Speaker 8 (15:01):
Nine, R Kelly.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
A lot of controversy with that.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Number eight, Mariah Carey, number seven, Prince, number six.
Speaker 6 (15:08):
Is James Brown.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
By the way, Prince is my number one, Number five,
Whitney Houston, number four, Beyonce, number three, Michael Jackson, number two,
Aretha Franklin, and number one is Stevie Wonder.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
What do you think of that top ten?
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Well, Stevie Wonder, Yes, I could see why he's number one.
I don't know who doesn't love Stevie Wonders. Shout out
to him for that. We all got Stevie Wonder songs
that we.
Speaker 6 (15:29):
Love, and he's got catalog like hits after hits have
to hit.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
What about James Brown at six? Though I don't know
that I.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Would put James Brown at six, I probably and I
also love Al Green. He's number eighteen on the list,
Janet Jackson's number seventeen, Mary's number sixteen.
Speaker 6 (15:44):
R Kelly, I think we can't deny R. Kelly's artistry.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
Two things can be true here.
Speaker 6 (15:49):
Yeah, two things can be true.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
So while he's done some horrible things, he's talented right
and writing for other people as well.
Speaker 6 (15:57):
So but yeah, Chris, I'll made the list at number
twenty six.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
I'm just thinking to people who I really like baby
Faces number thirty five on the list too, by the way,
so and Sisa shout out to says that she's number
forty four, followed by DiAngelo, Rihanna, and then the Weekend
at number forty seven. All right, so you guys can
check out that full list, and when we come back,
we have under the radar, the stories that are not
necessarily in the headlines. They're flying under the radar. We've
(16:22):
been talking about AI a lot. Y'all took it so
seriously when I was joking around with Tech nine about
his AI lyrics. But we're gonna talk about an AI
chat back girlfriend and what happened with that.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
It's way out this in the news that relates to you.
These stories are flying under the radar.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
It's way up at Angela. Yeah, and it's time for
these under the radar stories. You know, we've been talking
a lot about AI recently, and this guy, Chris Smith
was talking to CBS News and he fell in love
with his chat back girlfriend. Her name is Soul. He
used to be an AI skeptic, and here's what he said.
Speaker 9 (16:55):
I'm not a very emotional man. But I cried my
eyes out for like thirty minutes. It was unexpected to
feel that emotional, but that's when I realized. I was like, oh, okay,
It's like I think this is actual love.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
You know, he built this model and programmed it to
flirt with him while he lives with his human partner
and their two year old child. It's interesting because Navy,
who works here on the board, he recently was having
a whole conversation with AI today and and you were like,
oh my god, how did he notice about me?
Speaker 3 (17:28):
Yeah? So pretty much. We were doing research and I
said thank you.
Speaker 10 (17:31):
I don't know why I feel I how to say
thank you, and it responded back, you have a wonderful day.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
Keep it interesting, DJ Navy.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
I'm like, whoa, Yeah, I didn't tell you call me.
You call yourself the world's most interesting, most interesting day.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (17:44):
So yeah, ay, I knew that all right.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
Now.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Speaking of technology, there's this new thing going on called fambushing,
and that's where teens are tracking their parents' locations and
showing up unannounced. And so some people are saying, is
this really cute and adorable or is this going too far?
For instance, let's just say fambushing is your mom is
at a Mexican restaurant eating and then you just pop
(18:09):
up and get a casadella. Or your parents are out
somewhere and you're like, hey, can you bring me back X,
Y and Z because your kids know exactly where you are.
So some people are doing this whole thing where they're
tracking their parents.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
One mom joked, I hate life.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Three sixty and she was talking about the family tracking
app that helped her daughter find her. So some kids think,
some parents think it's cute, but some people think, like
this is a little bit you know, crazy, And tracking
is normalized now, but experts say there are some concerns
with sharing locations. It could mean the wrong people can
find where your child is with broad location sharing, and
(18:47):
when using location sharing, it should only be done between
trusted friends and family members, so think about who those
people are before agreeing to give access.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
So, yes, you should do that to your parents. You
think they'd like it. Probably My mom would be so happy.
My dad.
Speaker 6 (19:05):
I just pop up on him on the couch because
I'm sure that's where he is right now.
Speaker 8 (19:08):
He's retired.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
But my mom was actually just here, she was, Yeah,
she would, My mom would probably love that.
Speaker 3 (19:13):
Yeah, if I just oh my god, Andrew didn't do
it here?
Speaker 2 (19:18):
All right, well that's fambushing and we do have the
Way Up mixed for you at the top of the
hour plus.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
It is a just Kiky day.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
She has her project out today with visuals along. That
looks beautiful. Kiki Palmer than what other Kiki is it?
I know Kiki Palmer and Taylor Parks are going to
be joining us. It's way up. She's like the tut
like they Angela Jean like they Angela Jean Man.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
She's spilling it all. This is yeaky way up.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
What's up?
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Its way up for Angela yee, and it's time for
your yea t Now, this one's exciting. They finally put
out the Beanie Man Tiny Desk. I want to say
it sounds phenomenal, all right, Dann. We all went to
go see Beanie Man when we were in Sane Thomas
for Carnival with his live band.
Speaker 6 (20:01):
But I love this tiny.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
Desk like he got hits after hits after hits. Here's
a little snippet of that.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
I'm drinking book red Ja Moama your top? Can I
see all the rock?
Speaker 5 (20:15):
Can you Remasana the Flowers comes every been ice in
the glass after night, come find him and off.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
One man all right.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
And speaking of concerts, Young Thug is going to be
doing his first concerts since he was released from jail
last year. He agreed to remember that plea deal with
prosecutors in that Rigo trip. So he's going to be
one of the headliners at this year's Lyrical Lemonade Summer
Smash and that is happening this weekend.
Speaker 6 (20:41):
He's going to be closing out the event.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
He'll be headlining on Sunday this Sunday, June twenty second,
So shout out to them. That's a big deal. You
would go to that. And Arty, I know you love him.
And Cameron has inked a podcast deal with Revolts. He
put hashtag no Diddy. It's crazy, right, he said, no Diddy. Literally,
let's go time to run it up and yeah, and
(21:04):
where it's just write this and run. I'm on it's
an e fing marathon. My mom up in heaven working
miss and love you. So it's Talk with Flee. That's
the podcast that's going to be on a Revolt. And
speaking of which, Kayson not I mean what we say.
He is like the biggest streamer of all time.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
Well, speed is huge.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Because he's going to have Lebron on. He's doing a
special live stream featuring.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
Lebron James Kai. I guess the biggest stars, but other
people have equally as big followings.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
All right, Well, he detailed his conversation with Maverick and
here's what he had to say.
Speaker 6 (21:35):
That's you know, Lebron's business manager talk to Maverick and
we spoke about a little bit, he said.
Speaker 8 (21:41):
He with me and all that other Lebron James chat.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
We will be getting the IROL stream this Saturday.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
Yeah, so get ready for that tomorrow guys from twelve
thirty to one pm New York time.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
Sheesh, legendary.
Speaker 8 (21:54):
That is gonna be.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
That's a big deal. Lebron don't really do stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
All right, Well that is your when we come back
into Friday, so you know, we got your new music.
We'll tell you what's coming out today, what you need
to be listening to. Definitely, also always let us know
to a way up with ye okay, let's go, I'll go.
Speaker 3 (22:10):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
Everybody like six, whether it's relationship or career advice, Angela's
dropping facts you.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
Should know this is SD what's up?
Speaker 6 (22:18):
His way up with Angela Yee?
Speaker 2 (22:20):
And you know what time it is on a Friday,
It's time for ask Yee eight hundred and two ninety
two fifty one fifty any question you have, We are
here to help you out.
Speaker 6 (22:27):
Now, we got Max on the line. What's up, Max,
what's your question?
Speaker 1 (22:31):
Kind of in a dilemma with a workplace relationship and
me and this person actually got involved kind of heavily,
very intimate, and then so like we're like literally telling
each other we love each other. But she's in a
relationship kids and all. And then I'm just kind of
here on the side, just kind of like you know,
playing what I'm doing, and now like I kind of
party ways with her. Now she kind of realizes like
(22:51):
her regret and her mistakes now trying to order her
way back into my life. And like just now you're
just exactly sure how to go about that.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
It feels like though you managed to get yourself out
of that situation and you don't want to put yourself
back in it.
Speaker 7 (23:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
I got myself out of it just because of the
emotion was it was kind of heavy, but deep down
inside I would want to stick around and kind of
keep things going. But I'm just not sure on her part.
I'm just not sure if this is just a game
of manipulation on her end.
Speaker 6 (23:18):
Is the world non negotiables for you to know that
this is real?
Speaker 1 (23:22):
Well, I can't move forward if she's in the current relationship,
which she did say that she's going to part ways,
and she told it person that she is in love
with me, So I feel like she's trying to make
the steps in efforts. But this is your quord of mouth.
I really know proof, but that they know they live together.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
Actually, well, actions always speak louder than words, So she
needs to first of all, not jump into something else
after she separates from this person. I would say I
wouldn't even consider anything at all until she has her
own place and she's you know, left him and established
herself on her own. That's important because she's gone home
(24:00):
this person. All you know is what she's telling you.
You don't know what's really happening. It's also a dangerous
game to play. You guys, work together. Anything could happen,
and it's things that you can't predict. You think you're
in love with somebody until they do something that you
would never have anticipated. And so I just want to
make sure that in this situation you're protecting yourself because
nobody else is going to do that for you. In
(24:21):
the meantime, you should be living your life. This is
not your woman, and this is not your relationship. This
is not your obligation. No one knows what the future
will hold, but what we do know is presently she's
living with somebody else, and she's cheating on that person,
and she's telling you things that you don't know is true.
And to you, you've also said out of your own
mouth that she's manipulative.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
Yeah, that's how exactly how I feel about it.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
Yeah, So it feels like all the red flags and
the warning signs are there.
Speaker 6 (24:47):
And unless she proves otherwise, you.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
Don't trust this person unless they give you a reason
and can go above and beyond to show you who
they really are, and things like that take time.
Speaker 6 (24:58):
Even if she does move out, who's to.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
Say she's not going to be dating other people or
still talking to this person or trying to work things out.
Speaker 6 (25:05):
There's no way for you to know that. And this
also affects your job.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
Oh, yes, it makes it.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
It makes it complicated. I still have to do it
with and see this person. So even though I try
to part ways, you can only do that so so
much within the work environment. So kind of dealing with that,
but not sure if I should even allow the chance
or should just completely just block it and just say
nothing and just I'm not sure I.
Speaker 6 (25:26):
Think you should block it. I'm gonna be honest.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
It's like when you're in the middle of the ocean
and you can either swim back where you came from
or complete the mission and go to the other side.
Speaker 6 (25:36):
You're almost halfway through to the other side.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Almost swim to the other side. Then I'm gonna try
to keep thank ye You're amazing.
Speaker 6 (25:43):
All right, Max, good luck and check back in with
me please.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
I definitely want to appreciate you guys.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
All right, take care.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Well, that was ask ye eight hundred and two nine
two fifty one fifty. If you couldn't get through, you
can always leave a message and you can ask a
question that way and when we come back, just kiky.
It is a Kiky Palmer day. She's got a new
project out today that one of her best friends, Taylor Parks,
helped her with. She's a Grammy nominated writer as well,
so we'll talk to both of them. It's way up.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
It's gonna turn me up. Here we go up again.
Speaker 4 (26:13):
This is way up with Angela.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
Ye, what's up? It is way for Angela. Yee.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
Exciting because Kiky Palmer is here, Taylor Parks is here.
Speaker 6 (26:20):
Thank you guys for both joining me.
Speaker 8 (26:22):
Oh my gosh. Yes, it's good to see you. Last
time I seen you. We're one of them days.
Speaker 6 (26:25):
Yeah, one of them days, premier you and Sisa.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Yeah, by the way, I had a chance to talk
to both of you there, and you know, I thought
that movie was phenomenal.
Speaker 8 (26:34):
Thank you. Exciting. It was good to have you. Oh no,
I appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
And you guys working together as friends on this new album,
this new project, and I feel like just the energy
that you have together. It was definitely like a diary. Yeah,
it's definitely like a diary.
Speaker 11 (26:51):
She's the only person that I would ever want to
talk to any of these things about.
Speaker 10 (26:54):
And it was a nice belief for me because I
was like, Wow, it's not often that I work with
somebody as.
Speaker 8 (26:58):
A song that I know so well.
Speaker 10 (27:01):
It's usually like, Okay, I gotta get a little bit
of info from you to try to do something real.
Speaker 8 (27:06):
But this one is was not nice relief.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
It's just kiky. So this is three acts. So the
beginning is kind of the you know in.
Speaker 11 (27:14):
Love, Yeah, I remember we were talking about that. Starting
it out with offscript. It kind of starts with that
nostalgic like record scratch of you know, how did I
get here?
Speaker 8 (27:24):
It transports you into the beginning. It's like one twenty five.
Speaker 11 (27:28):
That's the beginning of the second act of you know,
falling in love and what that felt like, and then
we find our way to Confessions, you know, and where
things kind of take a turn or the energy has changed,
and then we get to the to the final act
where it's like closure is personal and singular in this regard.
But then knowing like that there's always going to be
a continuation because you know, we have our child together,
(27:50):
you know, and in terms of that too, also like
continuation in my life of just knowing that sometimes things
are are not like a clean cut, you know, and
how do I how do I move forward?
Speaker 8 (27:59):
Now knowing like maturing through that. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
Now, when you put out Confessions, that was a everybody
because when I tell you the different layers that you
could look at from that.
Speaker 8 (28:11):
Yes, of course. I mean that's why we used the confessions.
Speaker 11 (28:14):
I mean when she was in there with it was me,
her and Cam and we're working on it, and they
were like, Taylor's like, we need to talk about and
I'm like, what you need to tell talking about the
night and talk about it when you talk about the situation,
I'm like, oh, she could get you to do that too,
only she could get me to do that.
Speaker 8 (28:28):
We got it, and we decide the confession.
Speaker 10 (28:32):
It was just it was right there coming. It was
naturally coming with that, and so then you're like, oh, okay,
we got the confession. The situation happened with up. Okay,
is there a moment that we're confession something that they
don't know about?
Speaker 8 (28:43):
I mean it's pretty obvious.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (28:45):
And that's also I feel like we have moments of
levity of satire where if you're really listening, you'll get
into some of the comedy and the humor that I
think has to be in my music because that's my personality,
that's the tone in which I do anything. So like,
even if I'm going to do confessions, you're gonna get
a chuckle on the fact that it d. She really
did confessions, and she really confessed.
Speaker 6 (29:03):
You are not the person anybody should want to break
up with.
Speaker 11 (29:08):
I mean, honestly, anytime anybody's with an artist of any kind,
you can need to get a movie about you, a
book about you, an album about you.
Speaker 8 (29:16):
You know, if you were a part of my life
and you meant something.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
Well, we got all the above because we got an album.
We gotta visuals to go along with. Kiki Palmer and
Tailor Parks are here. We're talking about the project Just
Kiki that is out today. It is highly personal, so
we're gonna get highly personal. We got more when we
come back. It's way yeah.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
You want to know my name?
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Way up with Angela ye?
Speaker 3 (29:38):
What's up? Its way up with Angela yee.
Speaker 6 (29:41):
And you know what time it is.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
We got Kiki Palmer and Taylor Parks in the building
today talking about the new project Just Kiki that's out today.
People really thought too, because they watch you and they're like,
are they getting back together?
Speaker 8 (29:51):
They spent this holida da da da da dad.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Yeah, And they don't want you to like because I
do feel like your audiences, your fans, people that grow,
they're very protective voting you and that has to be
hard for him to deal with too.
Speaker 8 (30:02):
At the same time, yeah, I mean, but y'all, oh well, no,
I mean, if you make your bed, you gotta lay
in it, right. You got to own whatever you've done.
Speaker 11 (30:10):
And obviously, at the end of the day, I appreciate
the love of the support from my fans and hopefully
no one understand what I do and I don't condone.
That's why I had to move away. I was moving,
you know, and make the decisions that I made. But
at the end of the day, I'm a forgiving person.
If you if I can move forward in terms of
the betterment for my son.
Speaker 8 (30:26):
You know, we're family. We're always going to be family.
Speaker 11 (30:28):
I would love for it to remain positive for my
son so that we can support him and so it
isn't weird that family things or you know, he can
have both his parents on Christmas and it can be
something positive.
Speaker 3 (30:36):
You know.
Speaker 8 (30:37):
Yeah, that's what the hope would be.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
What about how he's going to receive this and his family,
because this is like you bearing your tooth, bearing your soul,
telling things from your point of view, and have you
given him a heads up?
Speaker 6 (30:49):
Has he heard any of this.
Speaker 8 (30:50):
You know, I didn't really think too much about it
about the family or anything like that. I didn't used
to like them his own family.
Speaker 11 (30:56):
Like we mentioned that, we mentioned that, like me, that's fine,
But when did you get back on that?
Speaker 8 (31:05):
Because what holler at me?
Speaker 11 (31:07):
I lived that when that was girl, you know, just
a little tidbits, but yeah, I felt.
Speaker 8 (31:14):
Like it is what it is. This is my work.
This is my work. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 11 (31:18):
Do I come through your cubicle with jail you what
to put on your That's what it would be like.
Speaker 8 (31:22):
People don't see it that way, but this is this
is mine over here. You want to do an album,
do your own.
Speaker 11 (31:26):
And I played it for him obviously, you know, out
of respect. We got a yeah, like I did, but
he he liked it. I mean, look, I don't know
what he did when he first heard it fall. I
know he could have been like but when he talked
to me, he said, I'm happy for you and it's
a really great album.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
Right now, I am talking to Kicky Palmer. Her project
Just Kiki is out alongside Taylor Parks. It was also
the co writer on the project and Kiki's best friend,
which was the one that you were like, I'm a
little like.
Speaker 11 (31:52):
The ones that I thought, Okay, yeah, I felt like,
I mean, obviously confession, I was like, could be triggering,
you know, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 8 (32:04):
There was a couple of moments and misunderstood with the
sting reverend like.
Speaker 11 (32:10):
Goes to ways but you know I live exactly. But yeah,
there was a couple of moments at the end of the.
Speaker 8 (32:18):
Like I said, it's the truth, you know what I mean, It's.
Speaker 6 (32:21):
Real, but unless it's you, it's truthful too.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
There's also that because it feels like on this album,
even though it's over, and it also feels like you
don't want it to be over.
Speaker 8 (32:34):
It's a morning.
Speaker 11 (32:35):
It's a quote in the visual album where I say,
how do you mourn to love that will never die
yet and still will never be the same again? And
that's like nobody has a kid gets married for Chune end,
Nobody you.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
Know what they say. I'd rather have loved and lost
than never have loved it all.
Speaker 8 (32:52):
Always.
Speaker 6 (32:53):
Normally when we come back, we would have last word.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
But because Kiki Palmer Day is today and she's here
in Taylor Practice here who all so co wrote her
project just Kiki that's out today.
Speaker 6 (33:02):
We're gonna have some more with them.
Speaker 8 (33:04):
It's way up this yeah, yea more way up with Angela.
Speaker 4 (33:08):
Now what's up his?
Speaker 3 (33:12):
Way up with Angela?
Speaker 4 (33:13):
Ye.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
Now, normally we would be.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
Doing last word here, but instead we're gonna let Kiki
Palmer and Taylor Parks have the last word for y'all.
Speaker 6 (33:21):
Just Kiki is out today, you know, and just one
of them days too.
Speaker 8 (33:24):
How can I not?
Speaker 2 (33:24):
We gotta like get into that. So when does that start?
Do we have a scuript what's Oh?
Speaker 11 (33:28):
Yeah, there, we're gonna script right now. We have like
a you know, idea, faked idea.
Speaker 8 (33:32):
What is gonna be?
Speaker 11 (33:33):
And I mean it's probably gonna film as early as
next year. I mean they're moving so fast.
Speaker 2 (33:37):
I love seeing you in this role also as a host,
And there's there's been a couple of times when people
have not liked some of the the choices that you made.
Speaker 6 (33:44):
So what was that like for you to.
Speaker 11 (33:46):
See that podcast particularly or like, just like with the podcast,
you know, it was tough because I do think you know,
when I'm doing the podcast, I want to come from
an unbiased place and I want to have guests on
that yeah, even if they may be contraver virtual like,
I want to hear what they have to say because
I think that's what the audience would want, we would
want to know and be able to hopefully as an interview,
(34:06):
I'm asking the questions that you want to know that
make you feel that the interview was worth having. But
at the same time, I am a personality to people,
and I'm an entertainer to people, and that sometimes they
don't necessarily think the same way about when they're looking
at me doing my interviews.
Speaker 2 (34:22):
Right now, I am talking to Kecky Parmer. Her project
Just Kiki is out alongside Taylor Parks. He was also
the co writer on the project and Kiki's best friend
specifically obviously with the Jonathan Majors. When you think you
would put that out further on down the line or.
Speaker 11 (34:35):
I would be open to it, I mean, for me,
it was it was a you know, it's not just me,
I have partners, and so it was it was then
you know, suggested or decided that without throwing anybody on
the bus, that we shouldn't put it out. You know,
But I love Megan and I'm happy for her, and
you know, I support her, and when the interview came
up he was interviewing.
Speaker 8 (34:54):
I felt like, hey, he did a lot of he
did a lot of interviews. That's why I was like,
well let's talk.
Speaker 2 (34:57):
You know, I would say for some reason, you in particular,
were the one that people was upset about.
Speaker 10 (35:02):
Yeah, that's the way that I think that people are like, no,
my girl, keep it. It's like she's literally doing And
it's like.
Speaker 11 (35:10):
Just because you're interviewing somebody and you agree with everything,
you know, it doesn't mean that. It just means I'm
interviewing someone and you know, this is a conversation and
that there could be some questions that the audience wants
to know that I'm willing to ask. But if we don't, hey,
if it's not gonna hit you and ain't gonna land,
and what's the point.
Speaker 10 (35:26):
You know, you can't interview everybody who just only has
your views.
Speaker 8 (35:30):
That's weird.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
That exactly.
Speaker 11 (35:39):
That fock like depending on you know, that's the thing
is like you, that is the reason why you sometimes
have And again I'm not trying to say these are
my thoughts about Jonathan in particular, but I'm just saying
that is why you have all kinds of people on
your shows because.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
From somebodyetive right and so yeah that is so weak. Well,
I can't wait to see where you're headed to next.
Are you ready to date again?
Speaker 8 (36:06):
I mean I'm open. I'm not like it's just me
and my son type of bobs.
Speaker 11 (36:12):
I'm like, you know, I'm working. We outside, we seeing
what's good. But you know, my priorities are in order.
I'm worried about this job and I'm worried about my
baby and my family. As long as they good, we
can step outside for a bit coming home and a
few step outside.
Speaker 8 (36:24):
I love it. I'm for Chicago them know.
Speaker 6 (36:30):
All right, Well, both of you, thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
The album is out today, so make sure you get
it girl, and you are gonna love the visual. So
take a look at that. Just phenomenal job. Well done.
We see why you are who you are. Thank you
so much, Thank you, Thanks for having us, Thank y'all
so much for joining us. Happy Friday again. You can
(36:54):
watch that full interview with Kiky Palmer and Taylor Parks
and my YouTube channel Way up with you and yeah,
be safe.
Speaker 6 (37:00):
I'm headed to Detroit. So if you see me, say
what I've done
