Speaker 3 (00:06):
Yee.
Speaker 1 (00:06):
Yeah, it's way up at Angela yee.
Speaker 4 (00:09):
You hear my voice. I'm gonna be okay. But yes,
today is a Wednesday. We have a great show for
you guys today because it's a Wealth Wednesday. And this
is such a relevant conversation right now the new rules
of student loans, degrees, debt and what's changing now. We
do have doctor Sonya Lewis aka the student loan Doctor,
(00:30):
joining us, and there's been a lot going on with
this administration when it comes to student loans. And yesterday
some news broke about what's going to be happening with
repaying your student loans, with anybody that thought there are
student loans we're gonna be canceled. So we'll talk to
her about that and actionable things that you need to
do to get this under control. Of course, Mano's on
(00:52):
the way. He's got a lot going on right now.
I'm sure if you follow you've seen around the block.
We love you mayno, All right, well let's start the
show with some more love and some more positivity.

Eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
Now when we come back, I'm going to shine a
light on somebody who I am so in awe of,
so inspired by, so impressed by. And she's got a
new job. We'll tell you about it, all right. I'm
sure we're all going to be tuned in. Eight hundred
two fifty one fifty.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Call us up.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
Let us know who you want to shine a light on. Though,
it's way up, shine shine.
Speaker 5 (01:30):
Turn your lights on, y'all lights spreading love to those
who are doing greatness.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Shine a light on them, shine the light on.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
It's time to shine a light on them.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
It's way up at Angela yea, and it's time to
shine a light. And today I want to shine a
light on Shanel Jones. She has been announced as the
replacement for hote Kope. Hote Kope stepped away to spend
more time with her children, and now Chanelle Jones is
the newest co host. They confirmed this yesterday that she'll
be taking over as the permanent co anchor. So it's
(02:02):
now called Today with Jenna and Shaneil that's going to
start January twelfth. Here is what Shaneil Jones had to
say yesterday as Jenna Bushager welcomed her to the show.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
GOT a year ago at this time, it was tough
for me. I'm a year ago.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
At this time, I decided that I should step back
and be with my husband.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
And you couldn't write this script.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
I told my kids first, and they were so happy
for me.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
There was so much.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
Joy in our house and we needed that joy.
Speaker 6 (02:33):
You know.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
When I came back from leave, you know, I talked
about fighting for my joy.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Yeah, and this is what it looks like.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
So her husband passed away from brain cancer in May,
and so she feels like this is him just looking
down at her and uplifting her. So that is amazing, amazing.
So congratulations to shaneil Jones. We shine a light on you, now, Darnell,
who do you want to shine a light on.
Speaker 7 (02:56):
I want to shine a light on my mama, Secue
I Thorton and also my granny Louise Mansloup. Those are
two women that played a vital role in my life.
You know, made me the man I am today, and
I just want to shine a light on him. I
love him to death, love him today I die.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Oh that's so dope.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
And you know a man who love his mama and Grandma,
he gonna treat you good too.
Speaker 7 (03:18):
Always you already know.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
All right, Well, thank you for calling.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
Thank you that would shine a light eight hundred and
two ninety two fifty one fifty just in case you
couldn't get through, you can always leave a message and
you can shine a light for last word.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
And when we come back, we got your yee.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
T at Leangelo ball Man, he's got some things to
say about his ex his ex wife, what he wishes
he would have did and not did, and will tell
you how Rashid and Nicole is responding.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
It's way up.
Speaker 4 (03:45):
Well, she's like to talk like they angela gee, like
they angelajee.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Man, she's spilling it all this is yet well.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Yeah, it's way ye put the angela ye, the Man
of the hours.
Speaker 8 (03:58):
Yeah, what's that name?
Speaker 1 (04:00):
New Mayno, No, this is new Mano.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
But all right, but let's get into some easy Leangelo
ball he is now having some regrets. He was on
his ball in the family podcast really the only place
he opens up about things, and he had this to
say about how he regrets how he handled Nicki, his
original children's mother, during the situation where he left her
(04:25):
for someone else. Here's what he said, we.
Speaker 9 (04:27):
Was not agreeing on type, where we was gonna live,
what he's gonna go to school?
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Like who's gonna watch him when we're doing leaving for working?
I don't know. We're just talking a whole bunch over.
I don't know. If I could redo it, I would
with my own for real. Out of stag, I.
Speaker 9 (04:41):
Told her that though NICKI coolling me like she, I
tell her straight up, I was tweaking.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
I ain't got no excuse for that.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Wow, that's crazy. I was tweaking.
Speaker 10 (04:49):
I mean, sometimes you go through changes, you're growing, and
as a mad you being pulled in so many different directions.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
I guess, but this happens so quickly, like how does it?
But anyway, but the.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Other girl, I really thought he really was in love.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
Man, Yeah, you know how it is. That's like the
honeymoon period. Now Rashid and the call has said, by
the way, that he has not even seen his baby.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
When the baby was.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
Six days old, still hadn't seen or heard from him,
And in response to this interview, she said, I hope
you'll see how much of a clown he really is.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
Now.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
None of it makes sense. He could never take accountability
for nothing. No one forced a grown man to do anything,
just like I can't force him to be a.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Dad hashtag deadbeat.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Here's what he had to say about getting married to
was she did in the call.
Speaker 9 (05:35):
Like she was like, I pray you dying everything, like
she might have been on some ill. I've gone through
the motions where her she was like, I'm gonna do
this this. Then I'm like whatever, all right, just doing anything.
She like, we're gonna get married, We're gonna do She
drove me come out there about a cry in the whip.
But I was like, I'm doing it though. I like
sat down one day and my eyes started leaking, like
I don't like I saw went upstairs and talked to her.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
How you got to slide? I ain't gonna lie.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
So he really got married, Yes, he really did. I
mean that's wild.
Speaker 10 (06:04):
It was like an emotion. How many people get married
like that in Vegas? Like just link up and just
get married.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
I mean it happens.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
Yeah, but you know you also like disrespected your previous
relationship and all of that, and she was disrespectful to
Nikki also, and now she has since come back around and.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
It was just apologized for that yeah, I respected that.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
I saw that.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
All right.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
Well, speaking of divorces and all of that, Todd Tucker,
according to our experts, has a chance to win in
this divorce battle against Candy Burst. Now, what he's saying
is that he thinks that prenup shouldn't be valid because
he felt pressure to sign it right before they got married.
Holly Davis, who was a founding partner of Kirker Davis, said,
(06:49):
anytime a person signs a prenup days or hours before
their wedding, they are creating an argument to be made
leader that they were under duress or undue pressure to
sign the document. She said, this legal argument only holds
weight if he can prove his argument meets certain factors.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
So she does believe that.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
He had ample time and opportunity to call his attorney
before signing the prenup, and the rare chance that Candy's
lawyer fortunately asserted that Todd's attorney had signed off on
the terms of the prenup when they had not, it
might have a chance to win. So that's the only way.
That's crazy. All right, Well, that is your Yet, when
we come back, we have about last night. You've had
a lot going on and I haven't seen you in
(07:29):
a few days.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
I feel like I kicked off the whip again.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
But it's way up.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
So about last night I went down.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
It's way up at Angela Yee and manas in the bidding.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
So what you've been up to recording filming?
Speaker 10 (07:51):
Yeah, I mean we're doing everything. Oh, let's wrap about it.
You know, we just rocking and rolling.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Last rap about It is like the hottest.
Speaker 8 (07:58):
New podcast absolutely of guys.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
And it's like every day something different happens. So love
that for you though, very very uh, it's very and everybody.
First of all, there's a pause mayno page.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
Shout to the page like the pae though I'm gonna
do I need to notice is. But I think pause Mano,
is amazing because you have a lot of pauseworthy moments.
Speaker 10 (08:20):
I can't win at poles, Like I'm serious, I really
cannot win, Like I don't even got quit.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
I don't even want to play them.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Okay, yeah, so just go ahead, just go ahead, just
do it.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
And then in addition to that, what I do, Oh,
yesterday I actually was I guess on a podcast. It
was called must be the Money. And that's with the
former Wall Street Journal reporter Lee Hawkins Junior. He's also
an author, So I had a chance to really just
talk about, you know, my financial path because I definitely
(08:51):
started out not knowing anything, not thinking about investing, not
thinking I would ever own a home, all of those things,
to now having that be one of my top priorities.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Indeed, indeed, let's go.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Yeah, let's go.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
So it's always interesting when I talk about my journey
because I always think about things that I've forgotten about period.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
So yeah, it's good. It's good to reflect.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
And one thing I was thinking about yesterday was how
important it is for us to negotiate our salaries, how
important it is to go in if you know you're
in a job and you need to ask for a raise,
to go in and ask for one because you deserve it.
And how important it is to be a homeowner, no
matter what anybody tries to tell you, like it's not
important and don't do that. I'm a homeowner, I rant
(09:35):
and it is important to have that as a goal
and to figure out how to achieve that. That's what
really always gave me peace of mind when I finally
finally did it.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
Absolutely, Oh yeah, I love that.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
And I've donstairs.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
Yeah, downstairs is where he goes to the bathroom, and
one time left the door closed. I went down it
three days later to the cat and.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
Shut her Mike.
Speaker 4 (09:59):
Af anyway, when we come back, tell us a secret.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Eight hundred.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
Fifty one fifty and another pause moment. Just now that
Mano did not even plan. He is sitting here with
eggplant in front of him.
Speaker 10 (10:16):
So why would you leave that egg plant overhead?
Speaker 3 (10:21):
It was an eggplant sandwich? What was that? Polls?
Speaker 11 (10:27):
All right?
Speaker 4 (10:27):
Well, eight hundred two fifty one fifty. Any secret that
you want to tell us, we are here for it.
It's a no judgment zone because how can we judge
eight hundred two ninety.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Two fifty one fifty.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
Maybe there's some secrets about money, because a lot of
us are secretive about that in our lives. We would
love to hear it. That's eight hundred two ninety two
fifty one fifty.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Its way up.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
This is a judgment free zone.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Tell us a secret.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Yes, it's the way.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
Yeah, Mana, you know how we do it. We don't
judge anybody. We just be here minding our business. I
would never I know you, I would. Yeah, you are
so non judgments I'm proud of you for that. So
again that number is eight hundred two nine to fifty one,
fifties and no judgment zone.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
What's up, Anonymous?
Speaker 6 (11:10):
Call?
Speaker 1 (11:10):
I tell us your secret.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
I told my boss and know that I'm quitting. Yeah,
that's right.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
He ain't been giving me.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
My raise and it's been six months and I was
supposed to have one after thirty days and he's been booking.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
I'm out.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
Okay, how are you gonna do that?
Speaker 3 (11:24):
Something else lined up?
Speaker 6 (11:26):
I'm gonna double straight up, Like, look, you don't want
to pay me, So I found who don't.
Speaker 2 (11:30):
Pay me when I'm working?
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Wow? Okay, so you already found something else?
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (11:35):
Yeah, another another company.
Speaker 10 (11:36):
So you should shout your boss out now, then shout
him out, Tom.
Speaker 6 (11:40):
I know you're listening.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
Bet'll find you somebody else.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
So I'm done with the book.
Speaker 6 (11:46):
Now.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
What if he's like, look, what if we offer you
more to stay?
Speaker 3 (11:49):
If we could double it, double it?
Speaker 10 (11:51):
Now were talking now we're talking, Yeah, okay, you gotta
double it.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
See double company offering thirty two, So he gotta double it.
Speaker 4 (11:59):
Listen, And I'm glad that you moved on and did
what you had to do for yourself. Nothing worse than
being somewhere complaining about it but not doing nothing about it.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
Make a move exactly, not.
Speaker 12 (12:08):
Especially when you got the skill set and.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
They don't want to pay for what you work for you.
Oh you know you're the best I got, but you
don't want to.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Pay me for it?
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Mm hmm. All right, well, thank you for calling and
good luck with that.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
I appreciate y'all.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
Have a good rest of the week.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
You too, Hey out in Miss Colin, how you feeling.
Speaker 13 (12:24):
So great to talk to you you show?
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Thank you Me and man don't want to hear your secret.
No judgment.
Speaker 4 (12:30):
I am following for whoa What made you decide this
was the last jow?
Speaker 1 (12:35):
It's time to file for divorce.
Speaker 7 (12:38):
Fab three years emostly and I'm supportive and I.
Speaker 13 (12:43):
Look at his faith books.
Speaker 12 (12:44):
You have to be on some type of or half
for me.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Come to your profile, right, like, are you still on
these apps? Dating?
Speaker 4 (12:54):
Are you still doing this? Are you still you think
he's cheating?
Speaker 3 (12:58):
Well, to me, he's not having sex with them though, right,
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
She doesn't know, but he shouldn't be on no dating
apps anyway.
Speaker 12 (13:07):
You know that the woman women.
Speaker 7 (13:09):
Bring things to our husband.
Speaker 12 (13:11):
Don't pleas me like I'm crazy and I don't know
what I've seen?
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Right, try to make a move, don't make it.
Speaker 9 (13:17):
Better or fix it.
Speaker 12 (13:18):
Yeah, you don't do me a fun thing that show
up things that you don't care. We've read three days
and he won't answer his phone. What you don't want
to hear what I have to say?
Speaker 4 (13:28):
Three days and he don't answer his phone. Now I
fail you girl. You know what you want to do.
You gave us some time, you voiced him what the
problems were. You gave it an opportunity to fix it.
He didn't, and so you're out.
Speaker 7 (13:41):
I'm done.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
With this all right, Well, good luck, and I'm glad
that you're making a decision and moving forward.
Speaker 12 (13:49):
Yeah, thank you so much. You guys be blessed.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
Okay, you too, good luck? Well, thank you.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
That was tell us a secret eight hundred and two
ninety two, fifty one to fifty. If you couldn't get through,
leave a message for life. Word and when we come back,
we got your yet and Joe Rule is threatening to sue.
Fifty cents will tell you what the clip is that
fifty cent posted that has him upset?
Speaker 1 (14:10):
Its way up?
Speaker 5 (14:11):
They says the rules from industry shade to all of
gossop out, sending that Angela's speeling that yeek yeah, it's
way yep.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
But he had to lay me and Mano are here.
We are Man and Joe Rule is threatening?
Speaker 4 (14:25):
Is sue fifty cent for spreading allegations about him and Diddy?
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Now?
Speaker 4 (14:31):
He posted, let me be clear, this ain't about Diddy.
He's already in jail, serving time as he should be.
This is about this sucker, Curtis acting like he's hip
hop morals savior, going on TV with them tight nasty
suits and that big jughead when you're no different allegedly.
I wonder when it went wrong? They look so happy together.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
Well.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
Fifty responded and posted a clip of Gene Dial and
an interview that he had done previously, where he talked
about seeing Ja Rule and Diddy come out of the
room naked together.
Speaker 6 (15:00):
Ya.
Speaker 14 (15:00):
I'm here for my cousin Joan Ruhl. I said, well,
he busy right now, he busy doing one. I said
he will puff there in the room. They busy, they
don't want to be bothered. He said, well, I'm going
in there. He tried to bum rush from y'all grab
it and throw him against the piano, puffing. Jo Ruh
runs out the room. Puff got his time job grabbing
this time with they buck nickad Job was like, Yo,
what's going on?
Speaker 3 (15:19):
Yo, Jelly, that's my cousin. You know me? Well, I
said he tried to get in the room. I told
me couldn't get in the room.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
John said, you ain't want to go in the room.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
There's a lot of freak.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
So yes, but I can see. But I think what's
left out of this story. So I don't think it
was just the two of them in the room. I'm
sure they were in the room and whatever, But anyway,
I don't even know if it's true. But it's just
something that fifty posted. Now, Joe Ruhl is on social
media and he said Curtis called out Diddy for being
an abuser. Now I'm calling out at fifty cent for
(15:49):
being one. What's the problem?
Speaker 3 (15:52):
So this is this is lit again.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
It never stops, It never stops, Like I feel like
this is never the two of them.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Are just them.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Yeah, it's a forever beef.
Speaker 4 (16:03):
I can't imagine a time when they're going to finally
make amends.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
But I think it would be great, all right.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Now, Beyonce has been announced to return to the Met Gala.
It's been ten years since she's been there, and she's
gonna be co chairing the twenty twenty six met Gala
with Nicole Kidman, Beanis Williams and Anna Wintour. So the
theme this year, as they've already announced, is costume Art
or next year, I should say, because it's December, I
(16:31):
can't believe that it's almost twenty twenty six. But the
theme is costume art, so get ready. That's where I've
never been in no Met Gala. But I just enjoy
looking at the pictures and looking at the clothes that
everybody wears when they go. Now, Michael B. Jordan was
recently on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, and he
talked about the fact that he does want kids, but
(16:53):
he's practicing for when that day comes.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
Here's what he said.
Speaker 9 (16:57):
Yeah, I want kids, but I forgot I start off
with like plants and dogs.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
I'll see if I can plants.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
You see what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
If I can take care of a plant, should be
over there.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
Dog have a shot.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
I'll get that.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Listen. I have plants and it is so hard.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
Now that it's so cold out and it's been like
the coldest days of the year, My plants are dying.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
I'm not gonna lie. I've got a humidifier though.
Speaker 4 (17:24):
If anybody else has any tips on how I can
keep these plants alive. It's hard because some of them
are tropical. You got to make sure you're buying the
right plants.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
Some plants you don't water every day, right.
Speaker 4 (17:33):
Most of them you don't because actually that can kill
a plant faster because of root rot. So if you
overwater a plant, it'll make the roots get all soggy
and gross and the plant will die that way. And
that's a really common thing. But people think you need
to water them every day. They're very temperamental, so I
can see how that can help you get.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Ready for it. Yes, they do all right.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
Well, anyway, when we come back under the radar, there's
stories that are not in the headlines.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
They're under the radar. You need to know about them.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
Things happening in Miami for the first time in almost
thirty years.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
Also, only fans do you spend money on there? All right?
Speaker 4 (18:08):
Well, Americans spend the most, and we'll tell you what
that number is looking like yep.
Speaker 5 (18:12):
Take the news, news edition, the news that relates to you.
These stories are flying under the radar, all right.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
This way up with Angela. Ye, I'm here, my gout.
Speaker 4 (18:21):
Mayo's here right now, all right, and let's get into
some of these under the radar stories. Now, Miami has
some big things going on because for the first time
in thirty years, they have a Democrat as a mayor.
That's a big deal because I feel like Florida is
(18:42):
well known for republican, Yeah, for being very republican.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
And here's what you had to say, Well.
Speaker 11 (18:48):
It's very exciting to be the first woman to serve
the city of Miami. It's hard to think of it
that way because we always know Miami was founded by
a woman. But I hope this just sends a message
any girls or teenagers out there that of course, you
can be a mayor, you can be.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
Anything you want.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
Yeah, So shout out to Democrat Eileen Higgins for that.
It hasn't there hasn't been a Democratic mayor in Miami
since nineteen ninety seven.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
You know how huge that is. And she pretty much won.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
She had about almost sixty percent of the vote, So
congratulations to her and to Miami for that. All right,
So Americans spent two point six billion dollars on OnlyFans
in twenty twenty five, eye ranking globally to see because
you know, I think only Fans is based in the UK,
and so that's where why you.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
Should have been had my only Fans page.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
I listen, I already told you.
Speaker 4 (19:46):
Now you know New York City alone spent eighty seven
point two million dollars.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
What, yes, can you believe that?
Speaker 3 (19:55):
So what does that say about the mind of people?
Speaker 1 (19:58):
Listen? Just make sure you put what every.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
You think we're only fans is not some freak stuff, right.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
I feel like it's known for that.
Speaker 4 (20:05):
I remember there was a period of time when they
try to get rid of all that, and they would
try to clean it up, and everybody was up.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
In arms over it. All right.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
Now, instacart has been caught using a shady algorithm to
charge different prices to individual customers. This bothered me because
I use instacart, right, and so what they're saying is
it could be the same product in the same store,
but somehow one customer is paying say two dollars and
ninety nine cents for some Skippy peanut butter and another
(20:34):
user paid three poin fifty nine for the same exact
product in the same location. So it looks like they're
charging different customers different prices at the same store. And
I'm not understanding how that's eving. I mean, it's just
a pattern. They've done a research.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
It's charge more than you why.
Speaker 1 (20:54):
I don't know why. I don't know why. It might be.
Speaker 4 (20:57):
You know, they've been using these AI algorithms even for
charging prices for flights.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
That's been a thing Uber.
Speaker 4 (21:03):
I think they do that too, and lift like yeah,
so it's a little crazy, but they said it could
lead shoppers to forking over an extra twelve hundred dollars
on groceries each year. There's already a lot of inflation
when it comes to food, so that feels like they
need to figure that out.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Okay, all right, well that.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
Is you're under the radar. And now we do have
doctor Sonya Lewis joining us later. She is the student
loan doctor. A lot going on right now with this
administration and student loans, so you need to listen up
because she has solutions for you and what you need
to do. Also, the way up mix at the top
of the hour. Let's go what you on the tea?
Speaker 2 (21:39):
She came River seats.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
It's time to spill that eat all right, it's way
up with Angela.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
Yee, I'm here mainos here right none, Yes, let's get
into this yet. So recently flow Rider was on the
rob Report and you know, it was Art Bosl in Miami.
So here's what he had to say about basically work
previously at some of these venues where he now gets
to go and perform because he used to work at
the MGM Grand in Vegas, which I did not know.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
Here's what he said.
Speaker 6 (22:08):
I worked at the MGM Grand out in Las Vegas.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Have you performed at these places?
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (22:13):
Man, it's crazy because I remember working at the MGM
Grant and I actually worked in the back was the
graveyard shift where I had to dig through trash trying
to find silverware and recycle silverware.
Speaker 8 (22:22):
My gosh.
Speaker 6 (22:23):
Yeah, So you know those things right there definitely reminds
me of, you know, to always stay humble, stay grounded.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
Yeah, and look at this.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
He, you know, is one of the investors in Celsius,
the energy draint. And remember he had to sue to
get his money and they awarded him like eighty two
million dollars and that so imagine going from digging through
the garbage for silverware. Crazy, right, All right, now, nis
Ante Decompo has purchased a property in Brooklyn and Prospect
(22:53):
Lefferds Gardens for fourteen point one million dollars. So I
guess I'm not sure what he's planning to do. Some
people think that he may be retiring, or some people
think he's coming to New York. But I see there's
been a lot of conversations about what his next move is.
Speaker 10 (23:12):
What is it like a browsome.
Speaker 4 (23:16):
It looks like he's Yeah, it's a multi family house.
Maybe it's an investment property. I show you a picture
of it. But yeah, yeah, I don't know if he would.
But anyway, Smokey Robinson according now you know he has
these sexual assault cases, right, so people have been accusing him,
and it's really him and his wife have been accused.
(23:39):
And one of the women they're saying has a temporary
restraining order against her because she broke into their storage
unit last month and stole thousands of dollars worth of items.
So that's one of the women who was accusing them
of sexual assault. And so they filed this order on Monday,
December eighth, that's the same day they claim to have
learned that one of the women, this four of them,
(24:03):
we're doing those things.
Speaker 1 (24:04):
So yes, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (24:06):
It's going to be interesting to see how this plays
out because a lot of them housekeepers.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
One of them is an assistant.
Speaker 4 (24:11):
They're suing for repeated sexual assaults and sexual harassments.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
One of the women, the one that.
Speaker 4 (24:17):
Broke in, allegedly broke into their storage unit, alleges that
she was forced to resign because of these assaults.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
So looks like there may be.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
More to this than meets the eye, all right, And
recently fifty said, as you know, he's been getting a
lot of backlash for being one of the producers on
this ditty documentary, The Reckoning, but it's been getting a
ton of attention. Well, he recently did an interview where
he addressed the backlash, and he also addressed whether or
not he thought that Diddy could actually come back home
(24:49):
and make a comeback once he gets out of prison.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
This was on gold Derby. Here's what he said, are you.
Speaker 15 (24:54):
Patty, I accept I'll take that out wear, you know,
like I have anti said, I've become comfortable with on
social media because of the U sit your social media,
you know what I mean. Like, but when they look
at me deciding to go on ABC, it's Petty the
Morning Show, it's the biggest show.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
But they looked at it.
Speaker 15 (25:10):
Further and said, it's airing in prison, So this would
be why I would like to do that, And it
didn't come across as a reason not to.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Of course I was aware that it would be air.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Yeah, he's like, everything is not in prison. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:25):
People were saying that's why he did the interview there,
but he did it because it's a huge platform. In addition,
when he was asked about whether or not did he
can make a comeback, he said that he could see it,
but not with himself in the like, not with did
it being in the forefront of that. Yeah, all right,
when we come back, we have asked yee eight hundred
and two ninety two fifty one fifty.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
You know, the award winning, award winning advice giving man
is here. He can give you tips on how.
Speaker 4 (25:50):
To address a be he can give you tips on
how to own your relationship.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
Yeah, specialized in relationship advice on marriages.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
Yes, he can give you any type of advice monivation
and I can chime in eight hundred two nine to
fifty one fifty call us up for ask ye.
Speaker 5 (26:06):
It's relationship for Koreer advice. Angela's dropping facts you should.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
You should know.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
This is ask what's up his way up at Angela?
Speaker 7 (26:14):
Yee.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
I'm here with the award winning advice giving Maino and
we have Nisha on the line.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
Now.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
She's been back and forth with her boyfriend for the
past fifteen years and now she's got yet another issue.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Let's give her some advice.
Speaker 12 (26:28):
I've been dealing with my math for like fifteen years,
on and off arguments because he really bad and it's
like we want to make it worse, but I don't
want to go on back to the.
Speaker 4 (26:36):
Arguments from the So it's been fifteen years off and on.
But y'all not doing nothing different. You get back together,
you get into argument, you break up, and then you
get back together.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
What are the issues that y'all have?
Speaker 7 (26:47):
Well?
Speaker 12 (26:47):
Right now, okay, wee broke up and got back together recently,
everything was fine. It's X this popped out of nowhere
talking about she's pregnant. Woh, she checked him and his mother.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
Wow, is she really pregnant?
Speaker 12 (27:03):
I think he's bluffing, you know. Let me tell you
this document. It looks so fake. It's a doctor's address
on it, no doctor's name, no doctors, no doctor's email.
A few days later, she commented on my TikTok, oh,
let him know that he's pregnant.
Speaker 11 (27:17):
Oh?
Speaker 12 (27:17):
Did did she tell you that he's pregnant? Money? Why
on my TikTok, I'm blowing up on TikTok. I'm already
going viral. So you want to be noticed if you're
really pregnant, right, why would you mention fighting somebody?
Speaker 1 (27:30):
Is this somebody that he dated while y'all was on
a break?
Speaker 12 (27:33):
Yeah? And it's inessed with me, I mean upset every.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
Time she's obsessed with you, like in a in a
sexual way. I'm asking, I don't know.
Speaker 12 (27:42):
That's what I'm trying to find out, but he will
find me.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Now, what's he's what's he saying about all this?
Speaker 12 (27:48):
He's saying that he doesn't believe her because there's no
way in hell.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
And I said the same thing, he's got it. What
is his solution when he's right he don't believe it?
Speaker 12 (27:56):
I told him the box that he said he has
no contact with, so he doesn't want so you doesn't
want to deal with that job.
Speaker 4 (28:02):
And the fifteen years that back and forth is a lot.
This is the person you think that you're going to
be with the rest of your life.
Speaker 12 (28:09):
Sometimes I feel like I am. Sometimes it feels like.
Speaker 4 (28:12):
He's got some things to prove to you, and he
probably also knows that he can always break up and
get back together with you. Right, Okay, Look, tell him
what it is that you need for him to do
for you to feel comfortable and secure. If he can
do those things, you'll stay. And if he can't do it,
you got to leave for real. This is what I
need for me to be comfortable and to want to
stay with you. And if you can't do those things,
(28:34):
I got to do what's best for me, right. You know,
at some point you got to do things differently. You
can't keep on doing the same thing and expecting different results.
Speaker 12 (28:44):
You know, what's the problem to I'm going through a lot.
I have like no family. My daughter's kidnapped right now,
he's the only ye who.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
Took her, the father. Did the father take her or
what happened?
Speaker 12 (28:55):
Yes, my family, my family attacked me. So I was
attacked by my mother's sister and me at my daughter's
fourth grade graduation last year and they weren't arrested or nothing.
And ever since then, they've just been trying to take
my daughter. But they've always been jealous of its always
trying to take my daughter from me, And so I
haven't seen my daughter talking to her and know nothing
for the past year and a half since this happened.
(29:17):
What And Yeah, it's been pretty definitely trying to get lawyers.
I've been trying to figure this out. I'm fighting this case,
trying to get my daughter back. So it's like I
literally have nobody. So it's like when we go through
it and I feel like I want to end it
with him, I start crying so bad. He was like,
I'm so alone, Like I have nobody.
Speaker 4 (29:34):
Because first and foremost, you got to figure out this
situation with your child.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
That feels like the first priority.
Speaker 4 (29:39):
This feels like an emergency motion with a lawyer that
you need to do something in court that's an emergency.
Speaker 12 (29:46):
Yeah, I've been trying.
Speaker 4 (29:47):
Let's focus on that if he cares about you, he'll
still be there for you. But if he can't do
the things now. I think you also need some serious
like therapy. Have you gone to see someone?
Speaker 12 (29:59):
No, because I'm scared talk to people.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
Well, they're licensed professionals, and those are the people that
you need to be talking to. They don't know anything
about your life, they're not gonna judge you, but what
they will do is help you, right, all right, So
I really want you to look into that. Okay, Yeah,
thank you for calling. Keep in contact with us, all right.
Well that was ask ye. That was a lot eight.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
Hundred and two ninety two fifty one fifty.
Speaker 4 (30:20):
If you can't get through, you can always leave a
message and you can ask us a question that way,
and when we come back, we have the new rules
of student loans.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (30:29):
A conversation with doctor Sonya lewis for Wealth Wednesdays. She
is the student loan doctor. And if you've been watching
the news, you know student loans right now, if you
have to repay them.
Speaker 1 (30:39):
Things are a whole lot different, and I don't mean better.
It's way up.
Speaker 13 (30:43):
Kind of dream of wealthy and I don't mind sharing
my wealth dog getting you straight financially, mentally and physically.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
This is Wealth Wednesday on Way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
What's up?
Speaker 4 (30:53):
It's way up with Angela Yee for a Wealth Wednesday.
I'm here with Stacy Tisdale. Happy Wealth Wednesdays everybody, and
we're going.
Speaker 8 (30:59):
To talk about student loan debt.
Speaker 16 (31:02):
And we are so very happy to have doctor Sonya Lewis,
who is a CEO and founder of the Student Loan Doctor.
Speaker 8 (31:08):
What you'll hear all about.
Speaker 16 (31:10):
But let's just jump right in the government canceled the
save plan and what is that going to mean for people?
Speaker 4 (31:17):
So a lot of people were in limbo in terms
of what to do. Now there's no more limbo. You
now know that this administration is just not playing there,
not for an easy repayment. Let's go and make some decisions.
I literally been telling my community for over a year.
Please do not get comfortable here.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
This is a trap.
Speaker 4 (31:37):
So people thought they didn't have to make a plan
or a repayment plan until twenty twenty eight. Now we
know they have to start in like the next two months.
The average person we serve.
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Has six figure debt.
Speaker 4 (31:49):
Like we get people forgiven all the time, with three thousand,
four hundred thousand just last month, nine hundred and ninety
seven thousand right.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
Now, it's a Wealth Wednesday.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
I'm here with Stacy Tisdale and we're talking to doctor
son Lewis aka the Student Loan doctor. Well, doctor sonya
is so important that you're here today because we want
to talk about what should somebody do now because this
news just broke. There's hope, but you do need to
be aware that the Trump administration is proposing something called
the RP Plan or Payment Assistance Plan. It looks really pretty,
(32:18):
but it's really bad. So the problem with that plan
is if they were to sign up for that plan,
it changes their loan forgiveness from twenty years minus.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
Like being in any public service.
Speaker 4 (32:29):
And oh a lot of people don't know that when
you make a certain amount of payments, certain amount of years,
you get your loans forgiven.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
So in this case, right, people don't know that it
would go from twenty years to thirty.
Speaker 8 (32:39):
Do you have those twenty years that they're changing it
to thirty with the new.
Speaker 4 (32:44):
Plan that everybody's going to run to because it's more affordable, right,
because you have less payments every month.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
But it's just but now do you have ten more years?
Speaker 15 (32:51):
No?
Speaker 1 (32:52):
Not, nobody has that. That's like a mortgagety year.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
So we're like screaming from our platform, like the RAP
is not a good plan. You know, it would be
better to pay like a fifty dollars extra payment and
the IBr plan income base for payment versus going into
the r AP plan. But when people don't know better,
way they want to choose you, you would choose.
Speaker 8 (33:12):
THEE Like, yeah, the ones that lost money out of
the mouth, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:15):
The minimum payment is going to be ten dollars.
Speaker 8 (33:18):
What's out for them with student loans and credit reporting?
Speaker 6 (33:21):
Now?
Speaker 1 (33:21):
All right, so a couple of things.
Speaker 4 (33:23):
The Save plan is really dropping people's credit by one
hundred points. So you're listening and you're like, oh my god,
that's why my credit drop is because they have people
in this Forever Forbear's plan until recent and people were
actually like a lost a couple of lowsuit spending we
were talking about, because the lenders are not letting people
out if they were in the Save plan. You literally
(33:45):
have to pull teeth to get out of the plan.
If not, your credit is dropping as.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
A result of it.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
You don't want to lose a hundred credit points. It's
like you can't clean it up and get that back.
You not can get some of your points back.
Speaker 16 (33:55):
But one hundred y'all, everybody take a deep breath and
I stays dot com. We have a free tool that
will help you figure out what to do next on
your student loans.
Speaker 8 (34:05):
So it's at Teamwealth Wednesdays dot com.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
All right, Doctor Sonya Lewis is here. She's the Student
Loan Doctor. There's a lot happening with this administration when
it comes to student loans, a lot of announcements. It's confusing,
but she's here to help you out for Wealth Wednesday.
I'll be back with Stacy Tisdale and doctor Sonya Lewis
after this. It's way up kind of dream of.
Speaker 13 (34:24):
Wealthy and I don't mind sharing my wealth dog getting
you straight financially, mentally, and physically.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
This is Wealth Wednesday on Way Up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
What's up?
Speaker 4 (34:33):
His Way up with Angela Yee. I'm here with Stacy
Tisdale on a Wealth Wednesday. We're talking to doctor Sonya Lewis,
the founder and CEO of the Student Loan Doctor. She
is the first black woman own student loan repayment firm
in the United States.
Speaker 16 (34:46):
African Americans like fifteen or twenty years after graduating, their
levels are higher.
Speaker 4 (34:51):
Well, the problem is interest. Yeah, this is a little
baby loan. When it starts off within the interest, I
think that's illegal. How the interests of on a student
loan before anything. Oh and please don't have defaulted on
your student loans. This happened to one of my good friends.
He lost his ability to get federal clearances moving forward.
(35:12):
He cannot have a job that requires a federal security
cleric because it looks like you're not a responsible citizen.
Speaker 1 (35:19):
That's crazy. I thought that was wild.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
When I have my student loans, I kept having to
defer them. But you have to do that, Like, you
can't just default or not do anything because you know
some people. I think also, there was so much confusion
around student loans. Some people were like, I'm just not
going to because they you know, I'm hoping that this
is going to have your kids.
Speaker 1 (35:36):
It's a hope something.
Speaker 8 (35:37):
Spring on student loans.
Speaker 16 (35:39):
And it was like forty percent of people with student
loans weren't doing anything about them.
Speaker 8 (35:43):
No, no, I know, I would have gotten so complicated.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
I would love for you to sit in on the
class that I do. I do it every Monday night.
Speaker 4 (35:51):
It's free we log in the student a DOCUV and
where you're on your screen, I'm on my screen. Sometimes
we get a volunteer and I'm just literally walking through
the portal and while I'm doing that, I'm teaching and
educating on what they can get in terms of forgiveness
for payment.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
But then I'll do a question, when's the last time
you logged in? Three years? Never six years? Nobody ever
logged the last month.
Speaker 4 (36:11):
And we have hundreds of people on there, sometimes thousands,
and they've never logged in or it's a fear factor.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
What am I going to find when I go in here?
Speaker 4 (36:21):
So what I had to tell people in my community
is we have to log in right now because this
tax season they're taking tax returns. So if you log
in and see default, well what's today? We're right river right,
so you can get some December. See I'm still still
gonna let you wrong. Well, you will get your return
taken if you go to file it.
Speaker 1 (36:42):
In next month. You know, we have plans for our returns.
And guess what.
Speaker 4 (36:45):
That money never even gets to your student loans that
you owe. It goes to the interest in the fees
of the collection agency. Right now, it's all Wealth. Wednesday,
I'm here with Stacy Tisdale and we're talking to doctor
Sonya Lewis, aka the Student Loan Doctor.
Speaker 16 (36:57):
You've helped over fifty thousand people a half a million dollars.
Everybody out there wants to know how they can work
with you.
Speaker 8 (37:04):
How do people do that?
Speaker 4 (37:05):
So Instagram is where we have the most fun. That's
where I put all the updates our website. Doctor please
help me dot com, but really don't pay us will
say that's stop, okay, doctor, please help me dot com.
We teach every Monday night, and then we have a
community that's really just about education. Classes zooms out the yazoo,
so people wouldn't roll into that. That's what payment would
look like, and it's really affordable. It's like a couple hundred.
(37:28):
We're not trying to rob anybody here. Like when we
got the guy forgiving nine hundred ninety seven thousand, he
only paid us a couple hundred.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
He sent us all this money for lunch. Oh wow, head,
I don't know what to do.
Speaker 8 (37:37):
He said.
Speaker 4 (37:38):
I feel like I robbed you, and I said you
did not. I said, we're blessed and we have volume.
You're good, he said, I don't feel good about only
paying you a couple hundred because he couldn't see his
way out of his student loan day.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
He's a neurosurgeon.
Speaker 4 (37:50):
Wow, you really helped us as far as breaking everything
down and the importance of us going on with this
administration and how it affects us the everyday person.
Speaker 8 (37:59):
So thank you for that.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
Thank you guys for this opportunity.
Speaker 16 (38:02):
Doctor Sonya Lewis aka the Student Loan Doctor.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
Soon.
Speaker 4 (38:06):
Thank you so much to doctor Sonya Lewis for joining us.
Make sure you check out the Student Loan Doctor. Go
to Way Up with ye on YouTube and watch that
phone interview and when we come back, you guys have
the last word.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
Pick up the.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
Phone to get your voice heard. What the words? He's
the last word on Way Up with Angela?
Speaker 3 (38:26):
