in here with all amazing, beautiful things and energy.

Speaker 6 (00:24):
Oh thank you. Every time here, I feel like it's
a good vibe. So when I'm in New York, I'm like,
I gotta make this happen.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
All right, well listen, so much to talk about today.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
It's also a Wealth Wednesday, so we're going to be
having a conversation with joy Lynn hunterday for Wealth Wednesday
about helping your business thrive. When I tell you, she's
got a crazy, incredible story. She's a business attorney, a
serial entrepreneur, but she went through a lot personally before
she got on track to where she is today.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
Literally had her husband like shoot at her.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
So we'll talk about all of that during Wealth Wednesday.
But let's start the show with some love and some positivity.
Let's shine a light eight hundred two nine to fifty
one fifty Call us up.

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Let us know who you want to shine a light on.
It's way up.

Speaker 7 (01:06):
I'm I'm turn your lights on, y'all, spreading love to
those who are doing greatness.

Speaker 2 (01:13):

It's time to shine a light on.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
It's way up at Angela yea, And I'm here with
my guest co host today, Lindsey Grange. It with all
the good news. Hey, y'all, who do you want to
shine a light on.

Speaker 6 (01:28):
I want to shine a light on my man, my man,
my man, Colin Boyd, because listen, we work together, and
we are together, but we have a production company together,
and I have been back and forth out of the
state traveling for some other opportunities that I've had, and
he just straight up took the wheels and the rains
and has been running this production company. He's about to

(01:48):
actually go shoot a reality show in Myrtle Beach tomorrow.
So he's locked in some things for us and done
so much and I think he is a fantastic director
and I just love so much.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
Yeah, I'm getting demoted.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
I was do you have like.

Speaker 6 (02:01):
This back and forth like who's the CEO, who's the
c whatever? He's like, what are these titles about? We
co own the company? So he can be the CEO,
he can be whatever he got it, shine light on.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
I love that it can work. Working with your significant
other was I was against it for so long, but
you know what, it makes it easy. We just go home,
debrief and call it a day. And then sometimes you
also got to show your appreciation because people feel like
they don't get you know, the Sometimes we take things
for granted. So it's nice that you can show Colin
your appreciation.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
Right especially if you're talking you're in a relationship, You're like, Okay,
we talked already today. It's like, no, we talked about work,
right now we're going to talk about Okay, love you,
blah blah blah. So thank you so much, alloy?

Speaker 4 (02:38):
All right, Well, Noah, how are you? Who would you
like to shine a light on? Tell us about your dad?

Speaker 8 (02:45):
Noah, construction.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
He does construction, So tell me why you want to
shine a light on him. He's a good father. How
old are you? Noah?

Speaker 8 (02:56):
All right?

Speaker 4 (02:57):
Well, shout out to you and your desk.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Sounds like you guys have a great relif relationship. When's
the last time y'all hung out and had some father
son time?

Speaker 9 (03:04):
Thank you?

Speaker 4 (03:05):
What y'all do.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
All right, Well, Noah, thank you for calling a man
a few words, but he gets right to the point.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
All right, take care.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
That was Shina Light eight hundred and two nine two
fifty fifty. In case you couldn't get through, you could
leave a message for last word.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
When we come back.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
We have your yee t and I'm here with Linday
Granger and we got to talk about Nicki Minaj and
Lil Wayne on this album. There were rumors that she
was going to be on Little Wayne's new album. We'll
tell you she made it on there, we'll talk about it.
Plus how many albums Little Wayne? So first week it's
way up.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
This says soothing the rumors.

Speaker 7 (03:38):
From industry shade to all of gossip out sending Angela's
speeling that yet.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
All right as way up with Angela.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Yee.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Lindsay Granger is here guest housing today. Hey, this is
so funny because I don't know if you heard this rumor,
but there was this rumor going around that Doug Christie
was suing Chris Webber for four point six million dollars
because of the paternity of Jackie Christie and Doug Christie's child.
So that was their rumor that Chris Webber was really

(04:06):
the father.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
And this is crazy to come up with this big
age of this child.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
She's in her thirties, and so this rumor was so
rampant that my girl Keys was at my house and
she was like, did you hear that?

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Doug Christy?

Speaker 3 (04:17):
And I was like, wait, I don't know about but
you know, because anyway, Chris Weber, who normally would not
address such a thing, went on social media and said this, you.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Can't believe everything you read, see or hear on the internet.
So I'm gonna take this opportunity to issue my one
and only advisory. If you have a platform and you
have content with my name attached to lies, take it
down now. And to those that started the rumor, I
dare you not to take it down. I dare you
to repeat a lie.

Speaker 5 (04:46):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
So I wonder if that means he's going to sue
some of these places.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
Yeah, I guess he didn't fly.

Speaker 6 (04:50):
I'll say it because that's going to be a lot
of lawsuits to track down all these podcasts. But you know,
I mean, I guess you're not in a good position
if you respond to stuff like this and you're not
in a good position if you I.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Agree, because I was telling you I was in a conversation,
but he didn't flat out deny a roomor though. And
so they're like, yeah, so this means it's true because
he addressed it.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
It's like you just can't win.

Speaker 6 (05:08):
Yeah, but that's a terrible room to be swirling around,
especially yeah as an adult now.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
And you know they talk about how the timelines don't
line up with the story and you know, but so yes,
I guess, I guess that's the truth.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Yeah, to the lawsuit down. We'll see, we shall see.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Now let's talk about Nicki Minaj. She has reunited with
Little Wayne. There were rumors that she was gonna be
on Little Wayne's The Card to six and she's on
the remix. So get ready for this. Here is banned
from n O.

Speaker 10 (05:39):
When I did, I don't double back peace.

Speaker 9 (05:42):
If say you're pushing pe okay, rest in Peach, that's
a couple of sights. When we do his flip, class's
pick a Shannon, you ain't a shocked because you still
can't swell plug and that's horrible weed. The amphibit and
the phenomenon man ready faded like a bar Ain't nowhere
on the class. Oh they ain't never face cards my
stuff and science.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
Now I gotta ask a question. Let me see who
should I ask in the room?

Speaker 3 (06:09):
All right, we'll ask you Navy. Since you're on the board.
Can you spell Prague? Uh?

Speaker 10 (06:14):
Well, I'm gonna spot be our ag you eat?

Speaker 4 (06:17):
Okay? Who can? Do you know where it is?

Speaker 11 (06:22):
Uh?

Speaker 8 (06:23):
Europe?

Speaker 4 (06:25):
Okay? I think Prague? It was Czech Republican Prague.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
It was all Czechoslovakia at one point, right, is that right, lindsay, yeah,
I think travel travel.

Speaker 6 (06:34):
We should know this yet to get into the history
of the fark It sounds about right.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
I've been to Prague Ones. That's why.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
Really I haven't even been there.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
I've been to Prague Ones. One day I'll tell the
story of my book.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
But anyway, I still have a bottle of absence that
I got from there.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
Oh gosh, that's strong.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Yeah, so I have never opened it because I'm nervous.
If anybody knows what as how many years ago? Was
this a long time ago? You think it's still good?
It probably is, but it's very very potent. We'll bring
it in at the You gotta like burn sugar, you
gotta put it on like a spoon and burn sugar
something crazy.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
Like to kill me.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
We're gonna try it, guys. All right, well that is
your yet and shout out to Lil Wayne.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
The card is six. The numbers they're saying.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
It looks like it's gonna it looks like it's gonna
sell about one hundred and ten thousand units in the
first week.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
And when today's numbers because it's so much streaming streaming?
Is that great?

Speaker 8 (07:23):
Good?

Speaker 4 (07:23):
I mean, yeah, that's pretty good. Okay, that is good?

Speaker 3 (07:26):
All right, Well, when we come back, we have about
last night. That's when we talk about what we did
last night. I cannot wait to hear some of your news.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
It's way up, so about last night. Yes, I went down.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
Nice last night.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
It's way up with Angela Yee with my guest host,
Lindsay Granger.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
Hey, guys, and by the way, shout.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Out to Leon Thomas.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
His song just played Mudd and he also won Best
New Artist at the BET Awards.

Speaker 8 (07:50):
As he should.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
And he's from Brooklyn.

Speaker 5 (07:51):
Oh, I didn't know that period nice All.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Right, now, Lindsay, I know you had an interview yesterday
last night for News Yes, Roseanne.

Speaker 6 (08:01):
Yes, so News Nation in the Hill. I've been filling
in for them in DC and they had Roseanne bar On,
who you guys know or may know.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
In twenty eighteen she got canceled.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
Basically, they brought Roseanne back and had almost twenty eight
million viewers around there and it did really well. And
then she started firing off some racist tweets as she
blamed on ambient amby and said, no, our drug is
not have racist side effects, and it was.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
Just back and forth.

Speaker 6 (08:23):
It took a black ambien, yes exactly. So you know,
I was looking forward to the opportunity to talk to her.
She has a new documentary out and I wanted her
to kind of explain herself. She talked about a lot
of things and trying to get people to understand her.
But when I asked her what she would say to
Valerie Jared if she had the opportunity to sit down
woman to woman, this is how.

Speaker 5 (08:40):
The conversation went.

Speaker 6 (08:41):
So that's why I want to know if you sat
down no cameras woman to woman with Valerie Jared.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
I asked the I mean the woman.

Speaker 12 (08:49):
I asked her, come on my show and let's talk
it out about I didn't understand your race. How am
I to the men get into too, my concept, which
is race itself is racism.

Speaker 6 (09:05):
So her point was that she thought Valerie Jarrett was Iranian.
But I tried to explain to her putting picture next
to the Planet of the Apes and saying something that's
what it was.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
To remind you guys.

Speaker 6 (09:14):
She said, a picture of an ape from Planet of
the Apes looks similar to Valerie Jarrett mixed with Muslim brotherhood,
create Valerie Jarrett those two things, and it was very
of knocks. I told her that it offended me, and
that she spoke about her history of supporting and by
being Roseanne itself campaigning for communities of color and middle class.
But you know, it's up to you about not you, Angela,

(09:36):
but the public how they feel about her, because my
job was to let her speak for ourselves, because she
didn't get a chance to tell anybody.

Speaker 5 (09:41):
Like we do now on talk shows. She just got
canceled and we shut her.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Yeah, she tried to do an apology tweet after that,
which she says she regrets.

Speaker 6 (09:49):
Really, she said she would not apologize because that kind
of makes the cancelation more firm versus just like what
Trump does is just what are you talking about she
said she should have done that. I'll never apologize exactly
so she said she should have done that tactic.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
I mean, why did you think of her sitting down
with her?

Speaker 6 (10:05):
It felt very much like you know, and that this
is not to I think what she did was way wrong,
and I made that clear. You can watch the whole
interview on the hill, But it felt very much like
you know, when you're talking to your grandma that just
says whatever. It felt like that, which more than this
woman sitting next to me hates me. But I don't
know what a barometer is for racism and all those things.
So I'm not going to vouch for her character. You know,
I don't know her well enough to say that. I

(10:27):
know that she tried to explain herself. People like Moniques
have come to her defense the comedian, but I don't know.
It depends on what you feel about Wheniq's in her
perspective on Roseanne.

Speaker 5 (10:35):
You know, I don't know how much this stuff matters
to you. I don't know how I walked away this
kind of you know, Okay, I'm.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
Not going to be back as a ghost on the revival.

Speaker 5 (10:44):
Yes, And she was like, heck no, She was like,
are you disrespectful?

Speaker 3 (10:49):
You know this is like being a white ghost and
a racist America. All right, make sure y'all watched AFO
and if you can look at the Hill right, yes, go.

Speaker 6 (10:58):
To the Hill search for the Roseanne bar interviews just
from yesterday's show, so she'd be right at the top.

Speaker 4 (11:03):
That's amazing.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
And when we come back, tell us a secret. Eight
hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty. It's a no
judgment zone. That's eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Any secret that you have. I'm here with Linday Granger.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
As you can see, she is a professional, so she
can just, you know, listen to your secret, not judge you.
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty. Call us up,
tell us a secret.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
This is a judgment free zone. Tell us a secret.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
It's way up at Angela. Yee, Lindsey Grange, are you
ready for this?

Speaker 4 (11:32):
I am all right.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Well, she is guest hosting today. Every time you hear
your facial expressions. But you are so journalistic in your
approach to these secrets. I love that about you. It's anonymous.
It's a no judgment zone.

Speaker 5 (11:43):
We are not judging, We're just listening.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty anonymous caller,
what's your secret?

Speaker 8 (11:48):
I worked a really big company that I've been having
a nuity phone call FaceTime calls with my regional director.

Speaker 6 (11:57):
Ooh, and just seeing him at the conference is knowing
all he's behind closed doors or at least he just
found out that he's still married.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
Have y'all just only done FaceTime calls or have you
personally laid down with this man?

Speaker 8 (12:09):
I haven't personally all the time. That's like a lie.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
He like, don't want to cross and like I understand that.

Speaker 8 (12:16):
Yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:17):
If you chatting all day, you go over we're going
this far?

Speaker 3 (12:22):
So he so you didn't know he was married that
whole time, or you thought he was divorced or separated.

Speaker 8 (12:26):
He was supposed to be divorced.

Speaker 13 (12:27):
He don't talked about so many time would be our
face time.

Speaker 8 (12:30):
Doing the what you been doing on this go?

Speaker 4 (12:35):
Like give me an example, like what y'all be doing?

Speaker 13 (12:38):
Uh, you know the whole until we're done?

Speaker 6 (12:41):
Look nice of her?

Speaker 4 (12:42):
Wow? All right, well, thank you for sharing with us.
It's not really your fault.

Speaker 8 (12:46):
You didn't know.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
Yeah, you didn't know.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Now what happens going forward is different. You too, hanging
on him is call it?

Speaker 4 (12:54):
What's good? Good? You want to tell me and lindsay
a secret?

Speaker 8 (13:00):
Yeah, my secret is that I've been speaking with my
boss's wife for the last three months. Now.

Speaker 5 (13:05):
Oh you you're going down and getting fired.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
You don't care about that job?

Speaker 5 (13:09):
You better stop playing. Yeah, it's hard time, the place
is high.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
How to happen?

Speaker 8 (13:14):
It just happened, Like the first time, I thought it
was gonna be like a watch shot deal. But then
after that it's been coming more and so have you. Like,
so I've been trying. I've been trying to cut it off,
but it's like it's hard.

Speaker 5 (13:28):
It's harder when you have no jobs.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
Another joke.

Speaker 8 (13:31):
So look, I've been working for them for like fifteen years.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
So oh, so you've been to her.

Speaker 8 (13:38):
Yeah, I've known her for a while and I've been
through like relationship issues with her and her and my boys.
Like I know, for some reason she feels comfortable with
talking to me.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
But every time we talk, so you're like the shoulder
to cry on, yeah, basically, and then she.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
Moves down that shoulder.

Speaker 5 (13:59):
Who initiates who's the first one to say, you know,
make a move.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
She did, and they came in.

Speaker 8 (14:06):
I do like her, but I also me and my
boss I like, I hate to say it, but we're
like really good friends. We go douping, we go, I mean,
we do a lot of things.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Together with the same women.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
Yeah, you guys got a lot in common.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
Does he cheat on his wife?

Speaker 8 (14:19):
I mean he he does. I know that. And his
wife is using me to get for her.

Speaker 5 (14:25):
You're telling her what he's doing.

Speaker 8 (14:27):
That's going No, no, no, no, no, I didn't. I didn't
tell her. I didn't tell her going around. I didn't
tell her all that. I told her. You know that
he does, you know, flirt, but I've never seen him
take it to that next level, even though I lie
about it.

Speaker 6 (14:44):
Well, I hope you know, you make it up to
your boss or you know, you get a different bosses.

Speaker 8 (14:48):
You like the job pace very well. I'm just trying
to figure out how I could cut it off without fanstatic.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
Right. Well, good luck, sir.

Speaker 8 (14:57):
I wish I wish I could just walk away, you
know what I'm say? She says, hard though, Well, can.

Speaker 5 (15:02):
Find a new job, y, I was looking.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
Ask me all right, Well, thank you for sharing with us.

Speaker 8 (15:10):
Thank you for having me, Thank you all.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
Right, take care all right, Well that was tell us
a secret eight hundred two, nine fifty fifty. If you
couldn't get through, you can always leave a message and
tell a secret that way. And when we come back,
we have your Yet, and let's talk about Serena and
Venus Williams.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
They are going to be working with Elon Musk in.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
A way right, yes, on his X platform. So we
got questions, I know, don Lemon got questions. We got questions.
All right, it's way up show.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
She's about to blow the lead ab off this pot.
Let's get it. Angela's feeling that yea, te come and
get to see.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
Yes, it's way up with Angela.

Speaker 13 (15:43):
Yin.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
I'm here with Lindsay Granger, my guest host for the
day with an honor.

Speaker 5 (15:46):
Thank you. It's honor for me to be here.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
And let's get into this yet.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
So Serena and Venus Williams have a show, a video
podcast that is going to be premiering on X in August.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
Yes, what do you think about that?

Speaker 3 (15:56):
Because you know, Elon Musk for a lot of people
right now is kind of like the anti.

Speaker 5 (16:02):
Yeah, a lot of people don't like him.

Speaker 6 (16:04):
My first thought was like, what does Don Levon think?
And the only reason I say that is because you know,
he had his podcast on.

Speaker 4 (16:09):
X last of the day.

Speaker 6 (16:12):
So it's like, now if Serena, who's very vocal, speaks
up for something that Elon, like, how does that go?
And does Elon is gonna start a trend of letting
people go that disagree with him? Like, I mean, but
mind you, I also don't like people come from a
place of better than like, oh, I'm not taking money
to do this video podcast where people want to hear
Serena's voice and hear Venus's voice. I don't think that
that's good when X is one of the most popular

(16:33):
and biggest platforms.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
Out But I also do feel like Serena and Venus
could get a deal anywhere for sure they yeah, so
you know, so this is definitely a choice. Now I
can't tell people what to do and what not to do,
And am I gonna watch it's gonna be on other
platforms to just debuts on X.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
What about the money X would?

Speaker 6 (16:52):
I mean not that it's not you have to always
think about money, but like, what are we talking about?

Speaker 5 (16:56):
Are there other.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
Ownership as well.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
Who knows what this is situation is, but I do
feel like they're in a space to be able to
command anything from that.

Speaker 4 (17:04):
I could see that.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
So you know, we're we're taking a day by day.
I love me some Serena and Venus.

Speaker 6 (17:09):
And I'll be tuned in. Hopefully El almost backs up
a little bit from politics. He said he wanted to.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
We'd love to see that, all right, And speaking of tennis,
Cocoa golf made history. She's the first American woman to
win the French Open since Serena Williams in twenty fourteen,
and the youngest to do so since Serena's run in
two thousand and two.

Speaker 5 (17:25):
All right, be applauded.

Speaker 4 (17:27):
And she was also.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
At the New York Liberty Game last night and she
got the biggest standing ovation of the night, as she should.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
You know, it was beautiful to see her.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
Vanessa Bryant was there as well, alongside Natalia Bianca and
Capri Bryant. They were all at the Barclay Center. I mean,
when I always tell y'all the New York Liberty Games
are no joke.

Speaker 6 (17:46):
Now I want to go because I've seen them on
your Instagram and now you're talking about.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
It like I gotta take I gotta take you. Now,
they did play the Chicago's guy, they did win. The
New York Liberty is nine and oer right now, so
we are on fire nice here in New York. Angel
Rees had her best game of the season against the Liberty.
And you know, she's been getting just so much flack
for everything, and she was questioned about basically the way
that she's been getting criticized so much.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
And here's what happened.

Speaker 11 (18:13):
Any amount of crap that she gets on a day
to day and she still shows up. Whatever questions y'all got,
like about our team basket low wise, we appreciate it.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
But all the other nonsense, like is she reliable?

Speaker 11 (18:23):
Just a twenty three year old kid who handles herself
with grace, Her crown is heavy.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
That's her teammate Ariel Atkins jumping in to defend her,
like y'all give her a break.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
You know, she has a great game break.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
And the other thing that happened is that Clarissa Shields
was not happy about losing her sportswomen of the Year
award at the BET Awards. She posted still don't know
how I didn't win the Sportswoman of the Year, but
congrats to Injured Rees and all the other nominees.

Speaker 4 (18:47):
I just thought accolades mattered.

Speaker 6 (18:49):
See, like that's I appreciate being upset that you lost,
but like you don't have to say the slight shade
to somebody who also won, Like this is a high
moment for somebody. The same way I said in Coco
Goffs that you the challenger lost and she had kind
of rude, slightly rude things to say. It's like, yo,
come on, let's celebrate the winner.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
NASA Clarissa shield say said, yes she does, but who
has more accolades, more success than they failed? Ain't nobody's
saying Angel Reese don't have accolades or she not good.
I'm saying I thought the person with the most accolades
and accomplishments would win.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
I'm team Angel Reese.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
So this is not objective. Basically, Clorisa Shields has many.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
She's saying, check the numbers, check the stats. But it
is something that you vote for.

Speaker 5 (19:27):
Yeah, it's a people's choice kind of award.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
Right now.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
Here's what Angel Reese had to say about winning sportswomen
of the Year.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
Because it's my third one.

Speaker 7 (19:35):
Obviously, it rarely means something to other people today because
it's me and I just focused on basketball.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
I've come in to work every day and work.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
I don't complain.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
I don't care about anything else.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
I have bad age.

Speaker 11 (19:45):
I haven't been.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
Playing well at home, and I can.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Sit here and just mup around and point the finger.
But it's been me.

Speaker 5 (19:52):
Okay, Angel was thrust in the spotlight at a young age.

Speaker 13 (19:54):
Kid.

Speaker 6 (19:55):
I mean, you know about that, right, You've been that
girl since your twenties. But there's a lot of criticism
that comes.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
With me have social media like that. When I say so,
it's a whole different world. And you could see she
was very emotional about that because I'm sure that hers.
She probably a fan of Clevers Shiels too, So why
the criticism? But that is your yet when we come
back under the radar, these are the stories that are
not necessarily and the headlines. They're flying under the radar,
but you definitely need to know about them anyway, and

(20:21):
let's talk about it.

Speaker 4 (20:22):
Have you heard of slave talk? We'll discuss its way up.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Oh gosh, position the news that relates to you. These
stories are flying under the radar.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
All right, it's way up with Angela yee, I'm here
with my girl, Lindsay Granger. I'm back and let's get
into some of these under the radar stories. So there's
a disturbing new trend it's called slave talk that's on TikTok.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
You and I both aren't on TikTok like that. I mean,
I try.

Speaker 5 (20:44):
Somebody bought usquester for me on that, so thank you
to you.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
Right, so I got But there are these AI generated
loops that are showing black men and women picking cotton
and then asking for viewers digital gifts to free them.
So these are AI and the supposed to look authentic.

Speaker 4 (21:01):
You saw them. It does look authentic.

Speaker 6 (21:04):
And there's a big debate about how much policing or
censorship should go on social media. I think a lot
of people on the left think we need way more
for stuff like this, and then people on the right
are like, freedom of speech, but like this is so
crazy and racist that you know, like I don't even
understand why anybody who owns a platform and want this
type of stuff on their platform.

Speaker 5 (21:21):
It's not censorship to not.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
So every time you get a gift, if somebody sends
some money. Then there's these messages, help us leave this plantation.
Your gifts buys our freedom. Yeah, can you believe that?

Speaker 6 (21:34):
It's also weird that AI has gotten this far. I remember,
like a year ago the videos looked like trash. This
actually looks like a real.

Speaker 4 (21:41):
Video, all right now.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
Donald Trump also today, well yesterday, said that he plans
to phase out FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, after
hurricane season this year. And so right now, it's already
been a lot of turmoil going around. There's more plummeting,
more round workface reduction. At least ten percent of the
total staff have left since January, and the agency is

(22:03):
projected to lose close to thirty percent of its workforce
by the end of the year. So it's going to
go from twenty six thousand workers to about eighteen thousand.
He went states to take over what they do when
it comes to emergency relief.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
What do you think about that?

Speaker 6 (22:16):
Lensing Well, at the same time, he criticized states for
what they did for emergency relief, I mean, particularly the
wildfires most recently in LA I mean, he criticized the
states often, particularly when they have democratic leadership.

Speaker 5 (22:28):
And so this is not a great solution.

Speaker 6 (22:30):
And also I think that the Republican and the Trump
administration have like a repeated history of just trying things
and figuring out how it works out later, like with.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
Those because he doesn't have a long term plan, so
a lot of people.

Speaker 5 (22:40):
Are going to be affected negatively by this.

Speaker 6 (22:42):
So a good plan and cutting waste is always good,
but not just on the backs of Americans.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
All right, Well, that is you're under the radar. We
do have the Way Up mixed at the top of
the hour. Plus it's a Wealth Wednesday, and we have
Jui Lynn Hunt joining us, and she is an attorney,
but she also is a serial entrepreneur and she's gone
through a lot, including dealing with financial abuse, and we'll
talk about all of that.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
If you don't know what that is, this is interesting.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
I also feel like that ties into what's going on
with this whole Diddy situation where people talk about financial
abuse and what that looks like.

Speaker 4 (23:16):
But we'll discuss that it's way.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Up and she's spilling it all. This is yeaty way up.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
It's way up with Angela Yea, I'm here with my
guest housset Lindsey Grangeer.

Speaker 5 (23:27):
I'm back with that baby, and I'll make sure.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
Y'all go check out her Roseanne interview on for News
Nation with the Hill.

Speaker 5 (23:34):
Yep, all right.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
TC.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
Cambo recently talked about a mommy makeover that she had.
She was talking to Entertainment tonight at the BET Awards
on the Red Carpet, and here's what she said.

Speaker 5 (23:43):
I recently got plastic surgery. It was some mommy makeover.

Speaker 4 (23:47):
I had extra.

Speaker 11 (23:48):
Skin from the baby and a little bit of droppers
chair and a little bit droppers there.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
And they tightened me together.

Speaker 5 (23:56):
You know, we should be feeling good about ourselves.

Speaker 8 (23:59):
You know.

Speaker 3 (23:59):
I liked that she was honest about that, because you
don't have to tell anybody when you do work right right,
and a lot of people would be like I would
never until they're like, I should give myself a little
fixed up here.

Speaker 6 (24:11):
And I also felt her energy through the clips. She's like,
truly happy about it. So what makes you that happy?

Speaker 4 (24:16):
Go for it?

Speaker 6 (24:17):
Yeah, I will say that you shouldn't be doing it
for any other reason besides your happiness.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
They were really funny too at the awards when the
whole Little Usher reenactment.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
Oh right, yeah, Kevin Hart did all right now.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Chris Brown recently spoke up about sneaking out alone to
cope with fame. He posted fun fact I like to
sneak out by myself when I'm in different cities.

Speaker 4 (24:36):
It helps me feel human and normal.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
That's really important for my mental due to the fact
that I just can't walk around freely during the day
keeps me grounded. Being secluded from some parts of everyday
life activities will drive you insane. Being isolated all the time.
Cook remain humble and grateful.

Speaker 6 (24:51):
I actually appreciate that he takes some time his stuff.
I always wanted that about celebrities. But also I would
have loved to have been in the random pedestrian that
runs into Tim.

Speaker 5 (24:58):
On the street.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
HOWJ three thousand does stuff like that, and I appreciate
it every time people run into him.

Speaker 5 (25:04):
I think, I don't know. I mean, I guess it
is probably hard for anybody to move around free.

Speaker 4 (25:07):
We well, Chris browniefabit felt like taking the subway in
New York.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
Let me know, have you on the train. Sometimes people
don't pay attention. People really be in their phone, not
looking around.

Speaker 5 (25:16):
Imagine bad Bunny when he was down there, it was
like a year ago. That was crazy.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
Everybody knew all right, And Mariah Carey is teaming up
with La Read again and that is for her major comeback.
You know, she was at the BT Award. She said
it was her first time getting a BET award, that
Icon award.

Speaker 4 (25:32):
Is that crazy?

Speaker 5 (25:33):
That that sounds a little crazy. It seem like she
should have got like five of those.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
Well, she's a five time Grammy winner. Funny you said five.
But Gamma Music is where she's going to be. It's
an independent music company that's helm by Larry Jackson, and yes,
she's going to be doing that.

Speaker 6 (25:47):
I'm excited because the emancipation of Me Me was really
really good when she came back, So just come back
that same energy or better and you know, we have
another classic.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
You know, her last full length release was Caution in
twenty eighteen, and so this is going to be her
first new project since then.

Speaker 4 (26:02):
They don't have a release date yet, but.

Speaker 6 (26:04):
They need to just go ahead and get your main
depris stop playing. We all know that that's the secret.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
Sauce and Canela Alvarez and Terrence Crawford are going to
be fighting in Vegas for the unified super middleweight title.

Speaker 4 (26:13):
That's going to take place on September thirteenth.

Speaker 3 (26:16):
This is boxing's most anticipated fight in the years, so
get ready for that to go down.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
I might have to lie out to Vegas for that one.

Speaker 5 (26:24):
I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 6 (26:24):
I know nothing about boxing, but I have a dream
of sitting in Vegas with like a fur on or whatever.

Speaker 4 (26:29):
You need to have one at the What do you
need to have on?

Speaker 5 (26:32):
You know what Frank Lucas had on?

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Did you have on?

Speaker 1 (26:34):
Far?

Speaker 5 (26:34):
And that's when he started getting in trouble.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
Well, then you need to go to Detroit and see
Invite me to Detroit.

Speaker 5 (26:40):
Invite me to Detroit.

Speaker 4 (26:42):
And that is your yee tea.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
And when we come back, we have ask ye eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifty any question you have,
Lindsey and I are going to help you out. That's
eight hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. Its way up,
all right, everybody.

Speaker 7 (26:56):
Since with it's relationship with career advice, Angela's dropping facts,
you should know.

Speaker 4 (27:02):
What's up.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
Way you puty Angela, yee, I'm here with my girl
Lindsay Granger, Hi, and we want to give you some advice.
Eight hundred and two ninety two fifty one fifty We
got Daja on the line.

Speaker 4 (27:11):
What's up girl?

Speaker 5 (27:11):
What's going on? Desa?

Speaker 4 (27:12):
Hey girl? What is your question today?

Speaker 10 (27:15):
Why do men think female sheets so much?

Speaker 4 (27:18):
What's going on with you?

Speaker 5 (27:20):
Okay?

Speaker 11 (27:21):
So I have a dude and he just goes to
my phone constantly, and like he says, he trying me, well,
like he just has an issue, Like he'll just take
my phone in the bathroom.

Speaker 4 (27:32):
I'm like, what that's crazy. Why does he have the password?

Speaker 5 (27:35):
I want to stable that test? Like I end up.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
Yeah, but he's going through your phone, like to me,
privilege to get taken away? If you're going taking my
phone in the bathroom.

Speaker 5 (27:44):
Right, you're violating. And also what's he up to?

Speaker 6 (27:47):
Because a lot of times them thoughts cross your mind
when you're doing something unsaferey I think over his.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
Fall by not right, Yeah, I did follow some stuff.
Oh you got all right?

Speaker 5 (27:57):
So what type of stuff?

Speaker 4 (27:59):
So, but like it wasn't like a farting.

Speaker 5 (28:03):
It was like a like are you doing? But it
was like an eight o'clock at night?

Speaker 3 (28:08):
Yeah, and you does he know you went through his phone?
Did you tell him what he knows?

Speaker 5 (28:12):
Now?

Speaker 4 (28:13):
Well, you need to tell him.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
Jit, you need to be he has no problem going
through your phone. You need to tell him by the way,
I saw what was in your phone. Every time you
go through my phone, I already know you up to something,
and that's how I'm I look at it and I
saw this, and now I don't trust you.

Speaker 4 (28:26):
There you go, But like paid, y'all? He said, Well, I'm.

Speaker 10 (28:33):
My bills are paid from him.

Speaker 4 (28:35):
I got to worry about old meal.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
If you're saying, I'm okay with him going through my phone,
taking my phone in the bathroom, doing all these things
and texting people at night because he pays my bills,
that's a choice.

Speaker 5 (28:46):
And it also sounds like you know that control thing
you were talking about earlier.

Speaker 4 (28:49):
With financial abuse.

Speaker 5 (28:50):
Yeah, like he's in the control of your phone and
your money.

Speaker 6 (28:54):
So now it's like he knows that he has the
ultimate control, which is not really that healthy.

Speaker 8 (28:57):
True, that was.

Speaker 11 (28:58):
Very very brainy ought to say that financial control.

Speaker 13 (29:01):
I like them.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
How old are you?

Speaker 5 (29:03):
I'm twenty four?

Speaker 6 (29:04):
Oh, okay, you got a lot of life ahead of you,
so you know, just see if this is the one.
If not, you know, twenties and four experimentation True?

Speaker 10 (29:12):
Never w okay?

Speaker 9 (29:12):
I appreciate you.

Speaker 4 (29:13):
Yeah, I mean these are red flags if you ask
me and just like leave right now.

Speaker 5 (29:19):
So fine, so fine, he got so much money.

Speaker 4 (29:22):
She's like, I can't do it.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
Yeah, well you if you want to compromise, what it
is that would make you happy that remember that's a choice.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
Oh okay, you didn't hold my hand. Good luck, Dasia,
thank you. I appreciate you. She like I'm staying.

Speaker 5 (29:40):
She's like I was calling off my advice. She's a
friend that doesn't really want it.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
All right, Well that was asked ye eight hundred and
two nine fifty one fifty. In case you couldn't get through,
you could leave a message and we can talk that
way and when we come back. Speaking of financial abuse,
joy Lynn Hunt is going to be joining us for
Wealth Wednesdays. She's an attorney, a serial entrepreneur and author
a business co influenza. But she's been through a lot
to get there. We'll talk about it.

Speaker 4 (30:03):
It's way up.

Speaker 14 (30:03):
I had a dream of wealthy, and I don't mind
sharing my wealth dogs getting you straight financially, mentally and physically.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
This is Wealth Wednesday on Way Up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 4 (30:13):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (30:14):
This Way up with Angela yee. But it's a wealth Wednesday.
Of course, my partner, Stacy Tisdaily is.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
Here with me. We're really excited.

Speaker 15 (30:20):
We have a Joy Hunt here today and she is
the founder at see you at the Bank University Business Group.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
Serial entrepreneur, like crazy.

Speaker 15 (30:28):
You're in hair, You're in hair extensions, You're in auto,
you're in everything, tax pro jim fitness, business coaching. How
does somebody who starts out as a lawyer see all
these business opportunities.

Speaker 11 (30:42):
I don't like to look at titles, so I'm looking
like where is the money?

Speaker 10 (30:46):
Where do I see an opportunity? And that's where I go.

Speaker 11 (30:48):
So what was the first business that you did? My
very firm's business with my law practice. I quit working
for a law firm when I asked a protection and
I went started the Hunt Law Group.

Speaker 15 (30:57):
And I know you had a lot of business success
with your partner. Then you really kind of went through
it personally and that's led you to change everything. And
now you've just built these amazing franchises and everything else.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
Can you tell us a little bit about that personal story?

Speaker 11 (31:13):
Three years ago, I was in a toxic marriage ten
years and it turned abusive and I was like.

Speaker 10 (31:18):
You know what, girl, you just you need to leave.

Speaker 11 (31:20):
Three weeks later, we're still working together, like just going
through a divorce, and then he shot at me at
our dealership what in front of our son, and.

Speaker 10 (31:27):
I had to just pack up and move to Florida
because my brother wasn't Orlando SOW.

Speaker 4 (31:31):
I got to Orlando Wow.

Speaker 11 (31:32):
And then a month later he took all the money
out of the accounts, locked me off our businesses, and
so February of twenty twenty two, my mom paid my rent.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
And then legally there wasn't anything you could do about that,
So rein litigation right now.

Speaker 4 (31:45):
Right now, it's a wealth Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
I'm a Stacy Tisday and we are talking to Joey
lnd Hunt, cerio, entrepreneur and business coaching influencer.

Speaker 15 (31:52):
Domestic violence cases. How most ninety nine percent of them
actually start in financial abuse. Correct, And you were really
in a financial life abusive relationship.

Speaker 11 (32:02):
So when you're with a controlling person, you don't see
it in the beginning. Slowly, but surely, over time, I
would notice bank accounts I don't have access to, or
the cars that have access to have to have different
amounts than what he has access yet and then as
it got later, like try to voice my opinion, then

(32:22):
that's when he'll throw things, start yelling, And so that
was whenever he got violent, I will then just be
quiet because I don't want to have any kind of confrontation.
And so but over time it's like, well this is
a pattern, like and I keep wanting him to change
versus girl, you need to remove yourself from the situation.

Speaker 10 (32:40):
So financial abuse is real.

Speaker 11 (32:42):
By the time the woman realizes she is being financially abused,
I think it's too late. They've already moved things around,
or you're already stuck.

Speaker 10 (32:50):
Maybe you're a.

Speaker 11 (32:51):
Stay at home mom and you don't have your own income.
So for me, he's just I'm gonna block you from
your income. So now I gotta start all the way
back over.

Speaker 15 (32:58):
What would you tell women find themselves in this situation.

Speaker 11 (33:01):
You need to go get a plan so you can't
just leave, because if you just leave abruptly, Number one,
you don't have money to leave.

Speaker 10 (33:07):
Number Two, you don't want to like tick them off.

Speaker 11 (33:10):
Don't tell the plan to anyone except to a close
person that you know. That may mean you may have
to go get a job, or you know, get a
certificate in real estate, like go actually start earning some money,
because the second you leave is going to be lights out.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
I appreciate you for sharing that because I see so
many times women who are in situations and people kind
of act like, well, why didn't she just leave? Well,
you stayed and he did X, Y and z D
when you saw what was going on. But it's not
as simple as saying what he said, what he put
his hands on me, I'm out. Normally it does not
happen that way, correct, JOI Lynn Hunt his hair with us,

(33:46):
and we have more with her when we come back
for Wealth Wednesday. She's going to help you if you're
starting a business. You're a serial entrepreneur, but if you
also need some life advice. It's way up kind of dream.

Speaker 14 (33:56):
Of wealthy and I don't mind sharing my wealth dog
getting you straight financially, mentally and physically.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
This is Wealth Wednesday on Way Up with Angela Ye.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
What's up? Its way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
I'm here with Stacy Tisdale and your business bestie joy
Linn Hunt.

Speaker 15 (34:11):
So, in addition to being part of your tribe, what
are some of the other things you teach entrepreneurs who
come for your coaching business.

Speaker 5 (34:18):
So I teach you.

Speaker 11 (34:18):
Number one, how to structure your business to make sure
that your assets are protected by layering multiple things, so
parent companies, holding companies trust those kinds of things. I
teach entrepreneurs how to get free money for their business
with business grants.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
Oh we need that.

Speaker 11 (34:31):
So a lot of times business owners want to take
on all this debt, credit cards, lines of credit loans
just to get the business open, not realizing getting it
open is just one day, and now we have to
get this bad boy going. We gotta get clients coming in,
we gotta have inventory.

Speaker 5 (34:47):
It all costs money.

Speaker 11 (34:48):
And so when you exhaust all your resources and going
to debt, my analogy is that's the monkey around your neck.

Speaker 10 (34:53):
That's that stress, because now you got to get out
of that.

Speaker 11 (34:55):
So I want to teach entrepreneurs how to get free
money for their business to start scaling older business.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
What's great about grants is that you don't have to
pay them back. Correct.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
Now, you also are known as the business best see
so tell me where did that title?

Speaker 4 (35:08):
Who dubbed you the business best? Thing?

Speaker 11 (35:10):
I dubbed myself the business best season. So when I
started going online on my new venture. I was like,
I want to combine my legal areas of expertise.

Speaker 10 (35:19):
But I've been in business for twenty years, so i know.

Speaker 11 (35:22):
Everything that can go wrong in business because either I've
been there or help someone get through it. So I'm
kind of combining both worlds, the business side and the
legal side together as your business best scene.

Speaker 4 (35:33):
Right now, it's a Wealth Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
I'm at Stacy Tisdall and we are talking to Joe
len Hunt, CEREO, entrepreneur and business coaching influencer. What would
you say are the three biggest challenges that we have
as far as starting a new business being an entrepreneur.

Speaker 11 (35:47):
The three biggest challenges is Number one, not realizing that
you're starting the seven figure brand from day one. A
lot of times we just get a logo, website and
just start the business and we don't protect it. We
don't trademark our name, don't I get an LLC. We're
just out here doing things. And then when someone takes
your name or if you get sued for something, now
you're losing your assets. So not treating your business like

(36:08):
it's a real business in the beginning. Number two, I
would say not understanding how to market their business.

Speaker 10 (36:14):
They put all their.

Speaker 11 (36:15):
Time into getting and open and then it's like, well,
just because the door's open, the client care just running in.
You know what I'm saying, Like, now you'all to understand
how to market your business. Number three is they go
into way.

Speaker 10 (36:27):
Too much debt in the beginning.

Speaker 11 (36:29):
They feel like they have to have everything to start
and I believen make money by Monday. Just go sell
your product right now in as raw shape as possible
to get it sale to figure out what.

Speaker 10 (36:40):
It is that the streets want.

Speaker 11 (36:42):
Once you get well exactly what it is that they want,
and you have a system of called a purple concept,
then go take the funding and then ten x that.

Speaker 4 (36:50):
Who's your target audience for your coaching program?

Speaker 10 (36:52):
Three different people. Number one's gonna be my startup.

Speaker 11 (36:55):
They're trying to get it going, or they got the business,
they don't have any sales and they're trying to figure
or how do I get this bad boy going.

Speaker 10 (37:02):
Number two is.

Speaker 11 (37:02):
Gonna be a six figure entrepreneur who was duck at
a stealing. I can't get past this income. I need
to tweak something, but what is it? And my third
one is the monkey is on my net. I have
gotten into a problem and I don't know how.

Speaker 5 (37:17):
To get out of this.

Speaker 4 (37:18):
What's the process.

Speaker 11 (37:20):
I have a mentorship program, I have consultations, and I
have a community, so I can kind of sit you
in one of those price points.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
And where can people find you?

Speaker 11 (37:29):
You can find me at see you at the bank
dot com on Instagram, TikTok Joy Hunt underscore e s Q.

Oh yeah, check it out on the Hill guys, because
it got really spicy in there.

Speaker 5 (39:00):
But we had a great conversation.

Speaker 4 (39:02):
Did you like her as a person? Talking to her
like she was calm?

Speaker 6 (39:04):
I said, she reminded me of somebody's grandmother that just
says whatever, But you know, she was very calm. It
didn't give me like I felt uncomfortable in any way. Okay,
but I mean if we've seen Gail King do really
uncomfortable and reads, and she was not uncomfortable either, So
that's just part of the job, right.

Speaker 3 (39:17):
All right, Well, fair enough, all right, Well this is
your show, so you have the last word.

Speaker 13 (39:22):
I feel like we're gonna learn to forgive each other
in order to be better in life. You never know
what that person went through and why they treat you
the way they've been treated, because hurt people hurt people.
