Tyler Bolowski. Want to make sure I'm pronouncing that right?

(01:01):
Is it? Tyler Blowski? Yeah? You you nailed it into
good stuff. Yeah. So Tyler Bolowski, Uh. You find him
on Twitter at Tyler Bolowski and he's uh. He is
co host with his son of the Tyler and Eli
Fantasy Football Tips podcast. But the reason I'm having him
on is because he has put together a power rankings
model for Scott Fishball. I know this is a league

(01:23):
that everybody hears about a lot. It's because there are
many many experts in it and many fans in it
as well. Twelve hundred teams strong and Tyler I should
have you know, and Joe Gilina can back me up
on this that at A at week six of last year,
I was in first place. It was only nine hundred
teams last year, but I was in first place. So
needless to say, I was stunned when the this year's

(01:44):
power rankings have me at six ninety nine. So I
need to find out what the hell happened here? I
need to I need to make some moves early. I
need to get in on the waiver wire. Possibly improved this,
But how does this model work out? Yeah? My, The
way I do the grading is i'lly go in grade.
Every player individually has nothing to do where your draft

(02:06):
with the player at has nothing to do your team makeup.
You know, if you want ten quarterbacks and three receivers
and whatnot, that doesn't matter. My grading scales and one
through five it's kind of like a tear draft um ranking.
You know, Zeke Elliott, he'll get a one. Deo Redger
will get a four or five, depends how I field
that day. All rookies this year are five. Last year,

(02:26):
Buckley would one because he was a stud. This year
there's no studs out there. They're all get fives. Uh.
A lot of has to do with my day to
day feeling. You know, if I'm in a good mood,
Mike Williams is gonna Mike Williams is gonna get a four.
I'm in a bad uh mood. Williams gets to five.
So it's kind of, you know, a little wishy washally there.
But you know those are for the lower tier guys.

(02:47):
In my opinion, I really like Eli Manning. I think
he's gonna be great this year, even though Shephard's out
for right now. But I had gave him a two.
I've always liked Eli. He's consistently four thousand yards. He
gets it two this year. The lower the number, the better.
It's like golf hold out. Some trade injuries didn't matter
with the grading because I graded right after all the

(03:07):
drafts are done, so Zeke Elliott, Melvin Gordon, Antonio Brown,
you have nothing to worry about with those, and the
scoring system doesn't matter. You know, I know tight ends
are heavy this year and it's super flax, but again
that kind of goes along with a makeup. So uh, yeah,
you did great last year with your first six weeks,
but this year you don't know how to draft. So
that's why he got a six. Wow. No, no, no, no, no,

(03:32):
honesty and every these things really mean nothing. Is this
something I wanted to do for the Scott Fish Bull
Nation Contribute one Way? And last year? Last year, I
didn't get an invite right away, so I was like, well,
how can I contribute? And I was like, oh, we'll
just rank them all and it's it's a two to
three weeklong process and it's it's fun. I love. I'm

(03:53):
getting a ton of big positive feedback. You know, a
couple of people here and there are irked about it,
but yeah, it's something you know, keep keep on, keep
on trucking, and keep on with the Scott Fish Full
Nation Contribute One Way. I did eventually get it invite
last year Scott and say hey, you know we haven't
drop out. Do you want to jump in the So
this is my third year plane, Um I didn't. I

(04:14):
didn't rank myself this year for conflicts of interest. Um,
just because I didn't want to, you know, I didn't
want to people like, oh, you give yourself a really
good score. No. So yeah, hey, Mike, maybe we could
rank him, Maybe we could go over his frost. I
gotta find I'll take a look. I'll try and find it.
I'll try and I'll try and find it. But you

(04:35):
came in at three sixty. Go ahead, yeah, I came
I'm in the doctor martial if you want to quickly
look it up. Yeah, Mike, you're you're at six. Joe,
you're three sixty. And George, I haven't put you in
the you know, I haven't put you on Twitter yet.
You're at thirty five. Guys got Sammy freaking Watkins. This

(04:56):
this second wide receiver. I gotta check out George's team now, yeah,
he also has uh well, I'm looking, I'm looking at
the Courts's uh rocks to here. I guess having Patrick Mahomes,
he's got to be a one right. And also yes,
and he gave Eli Manning it too, so that's pretty interesting. Yeah, So,

(05:21):
I mean, how many man hours did this take you?
I mean, I mean it's a great thing to you know,
like you said, you want to you know, get a
contribute to the uh Scotty fish Pole Nation. He know, think,
like I said, it took about three weeks to do. Um,
I was pumping it takes. It takes about twenty minutes
of grade each team, so you know, two hundred hundred

(05:43):
twelve teams, sorry to hundred teams, you know, at twenty
minutes to clip, and then I had to put them
all in order, and then I had to put him
all in and you know, put him all on Twitter.
So it's it's a long process that my wife and kids,
you know, you know, they kind of got the back
burner for the past couple of weeks. I did a
lot of it work too, during my lunch break, um
and some downtime I had it work so I could

(06:04):
pump them all out so I didn't have to take
up too much family time. But yeah, it's a long process.
And I can't imagine how many teams Scott's gonna put
in next year and make my job even harder. So
and I and I'm old school, I'm all, I'm all
paper and pent. I don't put it on spreadsheets or
anything like that. And it's just for me. It's a
lot quicker because all I do is I just look
at the name and put a number down. I don't

(06:25):
worry about the names. So when I go back through
and for Tidebreakers, I just look at numbers. I don't
care about the names after that. So yeah, it's it's
a lot of process, but it's fun and it's you know,
and I said, depending on how I feel, you know, here,
Regick may get a four or five that day. So
all right, So here's Tyler's team, his qbs, uh Derek Carr,

(06:49):
Jerry Goff, Drew Lock, Deshaun Watson. It's actually pretty strong, uh, Watson, Goff,
Car is a pretty strong top three. I'm not a
huge fan of Car, but I just think there's gonna
be numbers for him there this year. When you agree, Joe,
oh yeah, yeah. And I'd give DeShawn Watson obviously a one,
no toubt. Yeah. He's got okay running backs. He loaded

(07:15):
up on the Bears, so he's got Cohen and Mike Davis.
He's got Ingram, Alvin Kamara, Agent Peterson, t J Yelding,
Alfred Blue, his receivers, Geronoy Allison, Devin Funches, David Moore,
DeMarcus Robinson, Sterling Shepherd, couldn't he miss st Brown Robert Woods.
So you went QBS and RBS early here, it appears

(07:36):
to me because the wide receiving group is good, not great.
Woods is your top wide receiver there. You need Shure
Shepherd back from an injury, that's for sure. And then
tight ends he got Kyle Rudolph David and Joko Evan Ingram.
So that's actually pretty strong tight end grouping. Because for
those that don't know Tyler, you can just you can
sort of sum up what your strategy was going in here.

(07:56):
But for those that don't know, there is a tight
end kick or so it's uh point per first down
UM point and a half I think for first down
for a tight end if I'm remembering correctly. But nonetheless,
what was your strategy going into the draft considering the
tight end bonus points and everything else. And it's a
super flex approach, So give me your thoughts on what

(08:18):
your strategy was going in. Yeah, yeah, I had, I
think I had I think I had the fifth picks
and I was really looking for Kelsey or uh Hopkins,
but Camara fell to me, so I had to take them.
You know, you get the fifty point, you get the
five points for every fifty yards. So I was like, well,
my god, take that. I'm usually zero RV approach when

(08:39):
I draft, but Camara felt to me, so I had
to take them. But after that, you know, you can
start up to I think five tight ends, so I
went heavy with that. Like Ingram, the Joco, and Rudolph
they all got once for me, and then Thomas got
a two. Uh, so you know, I got some pretty
tight tight ends. And then my when I drafted, I
didn't draft for the rankings and hopefully no one else did,

(09:02):
so I just draft on the players who I like,
um and who I think is gonna score a lot.
I'm not big on rookies, so I have like one
or two, but that's just because I had to fill
my roster up. So yeah, I just whatever felt to him.
For the most part, I think I went Camaro, Watson
and then Woods were my first three picks, or maybe
Ingram in there. But yeah, I just I just when

(09:23):
I when I draft any team I draft, I draft
for the most points possible. Like I'm not one of
those guys who sit on cornerbacks until the eighth ninth round.
Same with tight end. I'm going to fill up my
my starting roster first and then I'm gonna worry about
my bench. And that's why I got like the Alfred
Blue Blue and u um Mike Davidson guys like that,
because I'm never gonna start them. Why am I gonna

(09:45):
draft super early when positions I'm never gonna start. So
that's why I got Watson and car and go off
like super early. So I just want more points, the
most points I can win. That's how I draft. I
know it's against it. I know agains not a bad approach. Yeah, yeah,
I know it's against industry and everything weight on quarterback.
So I don't I I bucked the system when it

(10:06):
goes to that, and I draft my points up from
So looking at your roster, now you know where that
the this draft started. I think it was July eighth,
if I'm not mistaken. So are there any glaring mistakes
that you look at, you know on your team saying wow, man,
I wish I hadn't taken this guy, Like for instance,
on my team, I mean I went with Andrew Luck

(10:28):
and I took Antonio Brown. At the time, you know,
it was very high on Luck and you know now
I'm a little worried with this whole calf uh injury
news and it's it's going on for weeks now. And
Antonio Brown, Uh, you know they're flipping out a little
bit about the the helmet and the issue with the
the defeat in the frost bite. Any guys on your
team that you say, wow, you know, I wish I

(10:49):
hadn't taken them, and I wish I had gone you know,
left instead of right. No, I'm I'm pretty happy with
my team. Like I said, I'm go. I know who
I'm gonna be starting, uh, you know, super reflex. So
it's gonna be Watson and Golf every week and then Cohen,
Ingram and Camera my three backs. Uh probably if Shefferd
can come back healthy, Shepherd, Woods and Allison and maybe

(11:11):
in between with punchifs in there, and then the three Ingram,
Madjuco and um Rudolf are gonna be my three tight ends.
You know, all those points you're gonna get for tight ends.
I loaded up on tight ends and I actually got
Thomas pretty late because I look deeper into the scoring
system and realized, hey, you can start I think up
to five tight ends. So it's but you know it's

(11:31):
double up on some tight ends and there's some more points.
But you know, it stinks that shepherds hurt, you know,
so that's gonna put a little thing in my my
starting lineup every week. Uh, because he's never he's always
been seems like he's always consistently hurt. But as far
as your team with Luck and um Brown, you know,
it's just you're drafting in a sense, not you, but

(11:53):
you in general, you're gonna be drafting the names. You know, Luck,
Yeah he had that calf issue, but it's still injury. Lucky,
You're gonna still draft the name. And if you pass
on him, you could end up with a golf and
that may not be so great. Antonio Brown, he's just
a head case. You know who he is, what he's
gonna be. You know, it's just you know, you probably
saw the name at a good spot and picked them

(12:13):
and then you know it's unfortunate. You know, it's it's
like any other fantasy season. You know, you're always gonna
have the water ifs and uh, just the injuries and
but yeah, you just gotta take the name that you
see and hope for the best and and hold it
pans off for you again. We're with Tyler Blowski. He's
the host of the Tyler and Eli Fantasy Football Tips podcast.

(12:35):
He's done a power ranking, so those of you out
there in scott Fishball. It's his third year playing the
scott fish Ball. He played at seven, eight and and
now nine. Uh So, for those of you that are
playing in scott Fishball, check out his Twitter thread. He's
tagging you if you're playing in it, so you'll see
where you are. I'm in a robust six, Galina at

(12:58):
three sixty, Kurts at thirty five. Now, I just check
out what Kurtz's roster is. He obviously has done well. Glena,
I'm looking at you right now. You've got the luck
question mark obviously backing him up with Cousins and Stafford.
I mean, you have you actually have three really good starters.
I have Mr Biski Rivers, and then I am backing

(13:18):
them up with Mariota Tannehill combo. Uh. I don't think
Mariota will get benched due to bad play, but I
think there's a chance that since he's been hurt a
whole bunch, Tannehill could be in there at some point Tyler. Yeah,
like just going through your roster right there, you know,
um you have a two or two and a five
and a five. I don't like any of the Dolphins

(13:39):
this year, so punch all the Dolphins got fives and
um so so yeah, so you're right there, you're sitting
at fourteen points alone just on quarterbacks, and it ends
up quickly, you know, and you know if you have
some rookies in there, that's going to add up. But yeah,
Tannehill in Mariota and again I don't really like Mariota.
So that's my personal thing. A mery artist. So he

(14:00):
got a five. You know, he may be, you know,
a top fifteen quarterback by the end of the year,
but for right now, I don't like him. It's a
personal thing. So you gotta five. So and that's the thing,
like everyone's like, oh, I addrested the best team. I addrested.
But yeah, in your her opinion, that's you're you're right,
you probably did do a good draft for the scott
fish Ball. But my opinion, my gradeting system, it's it's

(14:21):
a five. You know. That's why I like Eli Manning.
He got it too. And so it's a lot of
people can like I've gotten so many d m s
about like all my team is so much better. I
think it's all fun. Though, I think it's all it's fun.
You're obviously doing doing any good fun. I'm not actually
offended by my six nine ranking. I understand stand sort
of how you came to it. What if I say

(14:43):
about my team in general, is that between Jamal Wallulames,
Edo Smith and Austin Ekeler, there's an opportunity for my
team to be go from good to great in a
hurry hoe because a lot of upside because with Aaron
Jones to Monta Freeman and the Melvin Gordon hold out,
I've got some question marks. Here were these running backs

(15:06):
I didn't have to spend a lot to get and
I could get a massive return out of it. I'm
not suggesting that Jamal Williams is a great player, that
Edo Smith would be excellent if he was in a
full time role. But you know, we're talking about some
sticky situations at running back for those teams that the
Gordon hold out, DeVonta Freeman's constant injury history, and Aaron Jones,
Like we just got off the phone with Davis madik

(15:27):
An hour ago, and Davis was saying that Aaron Jones
is the type of guy that could swing your league,
but it could go negatively, right. It's a great strategy
if you don't feel comfortable with the running backs that
you drafted, drafted in terms of as your starters. If
you could get the guys that are all heartbeat and
injury away from becoming the number one guys in the backfield.

(15:48):
And look, the guys you just mentioned have a lot
of upside. I mean, DeVonta Freeman as a history of
getting hurt, Edo Smith could just roll into that number
one or be one role for Atlanta and a very
good offense. Austin Ekeler, I mean, we don't know how
long Melvin Gorn is gonna be out, yea, So a
lot of upside, Yeah, yeah, alright, Tyler. One last thing,

(16:09):
I'm taking a look at your team here, uh at
the wide receiver position. You do have equity miss bound
in there. Give me your thoughts, just and you have
Geronimo Allison. Give me your thoughts. How you think that
Packers wide receiving corps shakes out after Davante Adams. I
think it's gonna be Allison. I think Allison is gonna
be the two too, and then then uh St Brown

(16:29):
is three, and then everyone else falls behind them. And
you know it's just I've always like Allison. He has
he has that connection with Rogers, so good good stuff football. Yeah,
that's a good question. Who's your squad? I like the Giants.
I like the Giants figures I thought so too. Well,

(16:53):
that's why he likes Eli. That makes sense, right, I
think I think I think Eli is gonna be on
the bench by October. But that's me. I don't think
it's gonna be a particularly good seasons, but I wish
them luck, and I wish you luck, and thank you
for doing this, helping out the scott fish Bowl community.
You find him on Twitter Tyler Blowski b E l
A W s k E. So thanks for johnnys Tyler.
Hope to talk to you again soon. Yeah. Thanks for

(17:15):
having me, guys and having good rest of the day. Yeah,
we'll come back after the break and we'll talk Chargers.
We keep we're rolling through the a f C West,
do a little bit more Austin Ekeler talk and George
will join us back in to talk Chargers. It's Mike
and Joe we Can. Fantasy Update,
