You're listening to the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. You worked
all week work work, work, work, work, work, work, work work.
You didn't have time to look at your fantasy lineups.
(00:44):
But don't be afraid. That's why we give you week
a fantasy update. All right, welcome back for our number
(01:08):
two of weekend Fantasy. Okay, that's right, very pretty good.
You're good at impersonating people there. I'm telling you you
have a talent that you need to use. You do
a great camps to it. And I'm talking to our
producer extraordinaire sewn Angle. That prince, that's him. So I
(01:34):
am Joeglina at Joe Bolina on Twitter. You got my buddy,
George Kurtz at George Kurtz ku r t Z, the
owner of Cossa Kurtz Kingdom Kurts. For a few more hours,
you could head out to Suffolk County, New York and
take a little slide on this. Yeah there uh pretty good.
(01:58):
Plenty of food too. Yeah that you you've been doing.
You've been rocking the food the best couple of weeks
because you've had these parties, right, That's why you see
a little happier these days. August is always a hell
month for us as far as the birthdays. Man, Uh
think I explain. Let's say it's mine, my daughter, is
my nieces, my nephews, and I'm sure I love somebody
else out there too, oh within literally from the sixteenth.
(02:21):
So I always go through these. Usually we don't celebrate
mine because I I don't really tell anybody unless people ask,
and I don't care. Plus the fact that it's all
all the August birthdays means I don't have to worry
about mine. Uh So usually it's my daughters and my
my nieces and nephews. So it's busy. Let you know. Yeah,
you just do do the math there it's August. I
think it's subtracted nine months. Apparently we were all busy
(02:43):
around Thanksgiving because that season, right, it probably happened right
after to have the turkey and after the football games.
We know what, of course after the football games. Damn right,
it's at the football all right. I got more important
things than nowadays. That's hard, right, because we got we
got the night game too. I was gonna say, back
in the day, it was just the twelve thirty and
(03:04):
the fourth thirty, right the Eastern Times games. Now we
got the night game, which I love as well. But yeah,
that just makes for a long day. So do you
go a long day? And uh, but we will enjoy
it what I like. But you know, generally I got
I got to my mom's. You know, if I was
time the seventh thirty of the fourth the Cowboy game
ends the second game, I generally can get home in
(03:25):
time for the night in the evening I started time.
If I get the hell out of there, it's like, okay,
molests on table, I gotta go alright, So we really trying.
Uh do you like watching good? You haven't eaten one? Uh?
I I haven't eaten Thanksgiving dinner at the table and
got a couple of decades. I'm always watching the game
(03:46):
really really, I was just gonna ask you, like, what
do you like when you're watching uh Cowboys game? One
of my buddies growing up, I used to watch you know,
the Giants games with him, and man, he was a
big Phil Simms fan and it really he hurked him
when you know, Phil Simms wasn't given the credit, you know,
(04:08):
for for everything that he did. And he hated Joe
Montana because you know, Joe Montana got so much credit.
But he threw a lot of according to according to
my friend, threw a lot of dink passes and whatnot.
And watching him, he would just start throwing things around.
He broke about three or four compares and glasses. Uh.
You know, in the in the years where we were
having out watching Giant games. What do you like when
(04:30):
you watch a Cowboys game? Like? Are you are you
a shouter the the the yell at the TV? I mean,
does your family have to just stay out of the room?
What do you like? Well, my family stays out of
the room anyway, none of the football fans and that
they have no interest. Uh. I was definitely more vocal
back in the you know, years ago. You know, I
(04:52):
am not vocal now, Uh, so I don't. Uh, I
don't yell as much. So, I mean there's there are
games where you are gonna yell the TV. You know,
catch the damn ball all you know, stuff like that,
and uh you know or you know, dad throw the
ball away or any why are you taking that sack?
Stuff like that. You're gonna get yea ye at the
TV sometimes, But uh, I try and calm it down.
I mean, I do, what's gonna have kids here? Thirteen
(05:14):
nine can't be uh, I can't be saying too many
four letter words. Yeah, as much as I once did.
I'm I'm lucky and unlucky because my wife likes to
watch the Giant games with me, and uh, it's very
critical of Eli. And I'm I'm kind of quiet when
I watched the games, don't It's just me, you know,
like every once in a while, you know, uh, things
(05:35):
get to me. But she's always criticizing him. And obviously
I don't like his face either when things go wrong,
but I think it's just him, you know, the Eli
face that that's famous and and whatnot. And she'll be
like tackle him, get hum and I'm like, god, you know,
maybe I'll go on the basement and watch this thing.
But anyway, it's just just me. I was just looking
(05:56):
at a headline from Mike Lupaca from the New York Daily.
It was wrote an article about Uh comparing I have
to read this article later Eli Manning to uh, Derek Jeter,
Mark Messier and Ewing, you know, as as like you know,
having that that big aura and in New York sports. Uh.
(06:17):
You know, look, Eli isn't the quarterback that that he
used to be. And I think I've said this before.
Never was like a great, great quarterback like you know,
like a Dan Marino type or even an Aaron Rodgers
or you know, a Breeze and the Prime. But he
got the job done, showed up for the big games,
(06:37):
you know, the rest of his history. So I happen
to like Eli just the way he carries himself. You know,
when he got benched, you know, he he's obviously disappointed,
you know a couple of years ago when they broke
the streak and they benched in favor of Geno Smith.
But he kept his disappointment to himself and let you know,
(06:59):
others in the media, Uh, and the team show their frustration.
So I'm a big elif fan and but but but
I'm a realist, and I know that the end is
near and so but we'll see. What do you think
of h did you catch any of the either highlights
or a little bit of the game. Uh the other
night with the Giants and the the the Dan and
Daniel Jones. I know that the Bears didn't play their
(07:21):
first team at all, but you know, in the short
time that he played, I thought Eli looked good. He
had a little time in the pocket. Uh. You have
to plant themselves and get the balls done. And Dan Jones,
Daniel Jones made a couple of mistakes but rebounded from them.
Throws a really nice, tight, accurate Tis spiral. I think
he's gonna have a very good career in New York.
(07:43):
I think it's gonna be a very good quarterback, probably
not a great quarterback, but a quarterback that could probably,
you know, with the right personnel around him, win a
Super Bowl eventually. Um, so, what what's the question here? What? Well,
what do't you think about the Giants that the other night? Uh?
(08:04):
Eli and Daniel Jones. Jones looks good. It looks good. Uh,
And I understand, Uh, you know, the defenses aren't trying
really hard. Right now, everything's vanilla. But he looks good.
He doesn't look over matched, you know, so that's always
a good thing, right, you know. I think when it
comes to a preseason I get more worried than I
(08:24):
do impressed because once again he's he looks good. That's great,
you know, good to say, relax you a little bit
because but I don't get overhyped. But because once again
defense aren't trying to stop you. You know that they
they're doing their own thin, get their own working. I
get more worried with the guy looks terrible because and
you're like, oh my god, damn, just don't care and
you can't play. Yeah, that's what worries me. More so
with John I said, Daniel Jones looks good. Certainly the
(08:46):
right start here and we'll see where it is and
we'll see where he ends up. I still think, you
know what's again, he needs to take over Eli this year.
I think the Giants is going to bomb this year,
and you want to get out all the your rookie
struggles this year. Hear. Yeah, when it came to benching Eli,
I can't reven the coach's name now, but I think
he did the right He just macdo. He just did
it with the wrong player. You don't do it for Gino.
(09:09):
Smith has already failed, you know, that was the problem,
not benching he like for who he did it too.
That was sort of insulting, and you don't do that. Uh. Now,
I'm want to believe that Eli is not a whole
fame quarterback. But as you will know, I am very
tough grader. I would I would take I would start
ripping people out of the whole of fame. I'd be
breaking busts before I put anybody else. And I think
a lot of people need to be removed in football, baseball, hockey.
(09:30):
With all of them, I don't think the whole fame anymore.
Is the whole very good? And I don't think when
it comes to Eli, I just look at it like this.
At any point in his career, would you have taken
him top five in the league if you were just
picking somebody. No, He's always been a good quarterback and
accumulator of stats because of the area he plays him.
It's not a whole fame quarterback. I don't care. You
want two Super Bowls, Congratulations, you have two good games. Uh,
(09:52):
that's not a couple of great catches. You know, you
don't win those. So that's just the way I am.
And I know people think, oh, you don't like I
have nothing. I have not against Eli. I like the commercials.
I think he's a funny guy. You have, the face
you're talking about is annoying, and I think that's I
think it is him. Is nothing you can do about it,
but it doesn't give you the topic you'd rather be.
Uh you know, you know Stone fire Row a leader.
Yeah right, everybody wants for not anybody has that. It's
(10:16):
hard to complain about Eli as a quarterback. Uh No,
he hasn't been Aaron Rodgers, Dan Marino or l Way.
You don't nobody is those are the great superstars. But
he's been pretty damn good. I mean, I don't think
anybody a fan basically to complain if Eli was their
quarterback for the past fifteen years and quartoback not. Everyone's
gonna get a great one. I mean, you know, a superstar,
great one. You know, there's nothing wrong with good. I
(10:39):
don't think any m hm. You know that he's gonna
be playing sixteen games a year, you know, and that
is that the most important thing by the way, you
know my little phrase, the most important ability is availability,
and Eli has been available. You never had to worry
about he was gonna show up. Oh no, he's questioned
Roll and he's doubt you may not play. Now for
(11:00):
the most part, he was gonna play. Mm hmmm, yep. Uh.
And we're talking about the Hall of Fame. I'm gonna
switch over to baseball real quickly. Sorry. I think the
Yankees had a little ceremony before their game about UH
with Marianna Rivera UH. And also the Texas Rangers inducted
remember Josh Hamilton's into their UH team Hall of Fame.
(11:24):
Josh Hamilton, remember him? Uh? You know he's had battles
with demons, you know that. I think the drinking problem.
I don't know if it was also drugs or whatnot,
but this guy had some months of years when he
was you know, when he had his head screwed on straight.
You know, I'm looking at his numbers now, two thousand, eight,
thirty two home runs, hundred thirty r b i uh.
(11:45):
He led the league in hitting in with a three
fifty nine average, another thirty two home runs and a
hundred RBI in that UH season. In forty three home
runs a hundred twenty eight r BI and uh whoo
to forget that? Uh was it the home run derby?
Forget exactly what year, but what was the year that
(12:06):
it was at the old Yankee Stadium? George? You remember
that when he just went off? Sure? So, so I
just don't just give Josh Hamilton some props? Why whole
of fame? Because they have another great franchise and there's
nothing great former embarrassment. Isn't that embarrassment? He's in the
(12:33):
your your whole fame? It is to tell you you're
gonna make this guy drink again? Would you stop and
be nice to Josh Hamilton's I don't think it needs
me to drink again? Uh? Is that? You see a
lot of teams do this by the way, they and
duct people to the whole Like what this guy played
with you for three or four years? How is he
in your whole fame? Are you that bad? Literally? Are
(12:53):
you that bad? And this guy has to be in
your whole of fame? I understand he has some great years.
I don't say any doubt about that, but the whole
of fame? Hey, he only played eight years period, all right?
And ran over with you. You know, I'm looking at
he played one, two or three or four six. One
of those was eighty nine games. You only played more
(13:14):
than fifty games twice. Yeah, he's he's in your whole fame.
This says a lot about you as an organization. To
give me some great right off the top of your head,
give me some some great or very good good Texas
Rangers that you remember. I know Al Oliver was a
Texas Ranger, but I don't think he spent the majority
of his career there. Think about some that you remember.
(13:35):
Jim Sunburg, the catcher, right, Mickey Rivers played for them
maybe a very very short time. Mickey Rivers is uh
quite good? Ryan, yes, Nolan Ryan, Yes, although he was
Toby Harra. I'm sure there's some. I'm sure there's a
really good ones that we're missing. Um who played first
(13:57):
space for them. This kind of be some better Rangers,
Texas Rangers that have played for that About Walker Texas Ranger,
Chuck Norris deserves to be there. Ivan Rodriguez was he um?
Was he like a Gonzalez? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay,
So there were a few. But the point is that
(14:18):
if you don't have any, you don't have any. Don't
force the issue. Don't force the issue by plug once against.
It's a little pet peeve of mine. They're not the whole.
I don't know why Regie Jackson the Yankees, uh played
the Yankes for five six years, because he was the
biggest mistake that George steinburn ever did. It was not
resigning Reggie Jackson. According to him, Oh God, how many
(14:41):
times did he say that? Yeah? But the next year
he should we take what Steinbrenner says that his word, God, Uh,
after you left the Yankees for the Angels, I just
don't see what. Yeah, but he would have caused a
small fortune back then the resigned, and he was like
he was up there in age and when they signed
(15:01):
Winfield a million a year for ten years. If I'm
not mistaken, Yeah, back then when I was huge, right, Yeah?
Nowadays that that's pocket change. Yes, yes, So since we're
talking baseball, what about this kid? Uh? At least he
reteat that Queen All from the Reds eleven home runs
in his first seventeen games, fifty nine at bats to
(15:23):
hit eleven home runs. That's the the fastest in Major
League Baseball history. Uh, Reese Hoskins did it with seven
six games. Remember Shane Spencer, he did it in eighty
nine games. Gary Sanchez did it in ninety games. But
I'm looking at this, this kid that his minor league
numbers and nine minor leagues seasons to forty eight Patty
(15:44):
average three five triple slash splash, triple slash. Come on,
Joe speak. I mean, obviously we're gonna see regression, but
just how much, George, that's the other That's the question, right,
That is the question we all is the regressions coming? Alright,
this guy's not gonna hit ninety home runs, but now
(16:05):
he's gonna do a hell of a starting teams haven't.
Teams haven't made that adjustment yet, and they will. They'll
adjust his swing, they'll adjust to what he's doing. But
if we don't know what it's going to be, you know,
ta seemed the second time you would think they'll make
the adfinely, quicker scene scene, when the first time maybe not.
Now he is not um I mean, I don't want
(16:25):
to poopoop to Cay, but he's not a top top prospect,
so no one saw it. That's why eight lifetime average.
Don't what No one saw that someone. No one sas
coming from him, And I don't want to say easy.
You know his terri w was going to go away.
But I'm looking at you know, you look at Baseball America. Here,
you look at key Floor. He's not You're not keep
his top ten in the organization? Is he the next
(16:45):
kept us? Oh? God, that's the name, and the Yankee
cast madly gets hurt. Mosk looks great. Mosk was the
definition of Yeah, I can get solo home runs for you,
but I can't do anything else anybody on base. I'm
an out. It was weird guys. Look up Moss, m
A A s. You look at that Droven, He's like
(17:06):
you can think of who drove in who had more homewers,
and he drove in runs. Weird in home runs in
seventy nine games. Uh, that kind of phased out better
to twenty the next season. But Mr Moss, Mr Kevin Moss,
I remember, I'm so excited I ran out and got
(17:28):
his his rookie Baseball card career numbers, batting average, sixty
five home runs in five seasons. Well, you know there
are a lot of guys like that, right that if
the Yankees Shane Spencer already managing guys to come on big.
They way you make fun to Josh Hamilton and make
fun of Kevin Moss. We'll be back with more we

(18:57):
Sports Radio Network Weekend Fantasy Update. Joke in uh George
Kurtz Fantasy Prince showan Angle bring us back with a
little eighties music A little sledge Hammer by Peter Gabriel.
This was also I mentioned I think this week Madonna
celebrated to birthday, so I think she's a hundred and
(19:18):
two and um it was the anniversary of Elvis Presley's
death this week George August this past Friday. Uh you
a uh Elvis Presley fan, George. I mean I like
some of his music. I wouldn't say fan. I don't
want to say I'm a fan. I think I have
(19:40):
his best hit c d Uh I do. Like, let's say,
I do like some of his music. But uh, wasn't
it you know, oh my god, it's Elvis. No, not
that kind of guy. Yeah. I think I was still
ye yeah, for a little while, I was a little like,
oh my god, it's Elvis. I remember when Elvis died.
I was a kid, young, and uh at that point,
(20:01):
all I had was, in terms of my record collection
Elvis wise, I just had his greatest hits, Elvis's golden
hits or whatnot. Uh that's what I had. Yeah. Yeah,
and then when I when he died, Uh, you know,
it's funny. I guess like maybe a few weeks before
he died, just out of nowhere, remember the Corvettes department store. Yeah,
(20:26):
I saw it with a k. Yeah it was a chain.
Maybe it was just in the five barrows, but uh yeah,
that's where I got my first g I Joe. Yeah,
so I ended up buying his his most recent album
called Moody Blue, and the actual disc the album itself
was was Blue, which was pretty freaking cool. So it
actually had a pretty two songs, two real good songs
(20:47):
on it, the title track and and way Down a
couple others or whatnot. But then like a couple of
weeks later, he dies. Then all of a sudden, you
remember Woolworth's, right, the the department store of the chain. Sure, yes,
well yeah, so I remember, just me and my small
group of friends, we started getting into Elvis music, and
Woolworth just took every Elvis album that they had in
(21:09):
stock and put it out, and they were selling Elvis
albums for a dollar ninety nine. That this is, you know,
forty plus years ago, so I mean, imagine you know
that dollar nine again was still very cheap back then.
And I ended up getting a lot of his crappy albums,
you know, because like that, the years when he did
his movies were very lean years, you know, like his
(21:32):
hits maybe he you know, stemmed from the movies, you know, so,
but his early stuff from the the fifties and the
hound Dog and Jail has Rocking, all that stuff, don't
be cruel. I find really great stuff. Obviously, a revolutionary
artist brought rock and roll to the forefront. So U
r I p Elvis Actually a couple of years ago
(21:53):
went to uh Nashville and took it right over to
Memphis and uh and took a tour of Greace Land.
Interest interesting stuff. So all right, let's get back to
some fantasy football talk. Uh, take a look at the
Browns and the Cults. Browns beat the Colts one to eighteen.
Big news this week, obviously, And if you haven't heard this,
(22:14):
you're sleeping under rock. And uh, if you don't know this,
you're gonna lose your fantasy football team. But Andrew Luck
has been hurt. You know, he's been dealing with a
calf injury. Uh since the O t a s. We're
talking a few months now. And then uh, Jim Er say,
the owner of the Colts is always a colorful kind
of guy when he talks to the media. What do
(22:36):
you say, George that it was a bone issue. And
then like a day or two later, I think it
was the GM who said that it's actually this calf
injury kind of caused a high ankle kind of stuff
injury as well them, my am I writing this, Listen,
does it matter? I uh, dealing with Luck last time?
(22:59):
Are we believing anything that comes out of Indianapolis? I mean, really,
are we believing anything they say? I'm not. I think
you're enough that you believe anything that Ursa says. I
think he's all for the hot air too. You put
him right up there with Jerry Jones, and you know,
not even these guys said, they're all lying. You know,
they're not telling you anything. I don't even know. I
knows half the time he's talking about guy. Uh. I
(23:22):
think this keeps uh several liquor businesses in business. So
I don't know if I care what he says there. Uh,
Luck is a concern. I mean, he's a concerned. This
is the calf injury from hell. I mean it's been
three months now, he's had three practices. I mean wow,
and now we've heard them say that what they pretty
much want him in. I believe they said by the
(23:42):
twenties six to really get him go, that's be next
what next Monday, which makes some senseision coming week? I
think right so that that that makes some sense. They're
obviously it's worse than that, you know, calf strain. Calf
strains do not take three months to heal. It is
a tear, it is a spring, not a strain of
significant sprained somewhere. This seem not to have health, but
(24:03):
it's also a couple of things that shows you well.
And Andrew Luck is a slow healer. You've seen this
over and over again, and now, uh you know he's
telling us, uh that what he he wants. He still
has nightmares or concerns about how where things how things
went last time, so he wants to make sure he's
a hundred percent healthy before he comes back. That's not good.
(24:26):
I mean it isn't even really hunch percent healthy. I mean,
does he really need to be that you're feeling great
for he comes back? I mean, wow, that that's not
a good thing. What if he gets hurt again? So
I have all concerns right now about Andrew Luck enough
so that Joe that in one quarterback leagues I'm not
taking them, not right now to talk to me. Maybe
in September when those stuff. Maybe he's back and I
get this, we see him pract because I feel a
(24:47):
little bit better. But in one quarterback leagues, no, thank you.
Two quarterback leagues. That's different. You know, you're playing in
a super flex twelve teams, that means twenty four quarterbacks
are going anyway. Yeah, so yeah, you draft him. He
falls down with DRAMTPA a little bit. He's not long
the top five five, but in those things, he's probably
still top ten for me. But there's a major gamble. Yeah,
and uh, I think I told you this last week
(25:10):
in the Scotty Fishball League which we started drafting, was
it like July eighth or something like that, like first
week of July. I ended up taking him with my
second pick because it's a flex league where you could
start two quarterbacks. So I took him as my second pick,
and then I followed it up with the Kirk Cousins,
Matthew Stafford and Will Greer. So I think I'm okay
(25:32):
for the short term, but obviously hoping that. You know,
if I had a guest, now, this is just a
total guest on my part. I don't think we're gonna
see a fully healthy Andrew Luck until week four. I
mean he might play before then, but you know, by
by the time he gets into true game shape, but
it might take him a few weeks. You can We'll
(25:53):
be right. Quarterback can still perform though it was not
those that arm is healthy and the arm does seem
to be health there. So you're worried about him with
the calves stepping into his storrows and also escaping pressure.
That's what we're worried about. Andrew looked there and uh,
we don't know. It could be good because you just
nobody knows about what that's encouraging. Yeah, encouraging. We saw
(26:15):
some video of him this morning from last night where
he was warming up before, and he seems to be
moving pretty good, you know, uh moving those feet are
those feet and legs and whatnot. So you know, maybe
some encouraging news. Yet I think he plays week one,
you know, Um, I think he's going to play, So
(26:36):
I'm not all that worried about that. Uh, I just
don't know how how well he's going to play. I
said that the movement is really considers me the most
escape pressure. That's what he's been good at. He escaped
you know. Now there's a running quarterback that we camera,
but he escapes pressure, extends the play. You know what
Aaron Rod just does, extends the play and they can
hit a bigger play there. So that's my most what
(26:56):
my biggest concern is there, and also him getting re
hurt and I want to sit out to be a
hundred percent healthy. As he puts it, that's just weird.
We all want to be a hundred percent healthy. Nobody
in football is a dred percent healthy at the week
one at our quarter, I don't just healthy anymore. So
that concerns me. Uh, that concerns me as well. And uh,
I agree with you. He extends to play and it
(27:19):
was beautiful last season. Was that he finally and we've
talked about this in the past, how he finally had
a very good offensive line protecting him. So very good
stuff there. So, like I said, that Brown's beat the
Colts one to eighteen. Uh, worst case scenario. What are
we thinking about Jacobi Brisette eight for ten last night
(27:39):
for a hundred yards a touchdown? Uh? Two years ago
started a bunch of games. I thought he was decent.
Obviously he's no Andrew Luck, but uh, with no Andrew
Luck and then there how much of an issue it
was it for guys like t Y Hilton and Eric
Ebron who who actually caught a touchdown pass from Jacobibert
(28:00):
that last night. But do you think it it hurts there?
You know how far down of a trickle down? Uh
does this go? If you know Brissette has to start
let's say the first three weeks of the season. Well,
I meant is one of the better backup quarterbacks in
the NFL. I mean if you've got a good backup quarterback,
(28:21):
so that that's good. He's not Angel luck of course not.
But to answer your question, of course everyone takes a hit.
I mean, I'm who's gonna say if anyboy tells you
they don't get their lying. Hilton right now is barely
He's on that tier of wide receiver one wide receiver too.
He's right. I mentioned him a draft that a joints
of taking him Cooper Edelman. Theeland ended up being Hilton
and Lemen will taken, and I still took the feeling
(28:42):
ahead of Cooper. Hilton would now move from let's say
from twelve probably to that seventeen eighteen mats he moved
down I had for I have a ranking from being
a top from a low end wide receiver one top
end wide receiver. Two it's a mid range wide receiver too.
Do you move down a couple of slots. Don't think
it's any doubt about that. You would take other guys
ahead of him. I mentioned it. Cooper would definitely go
(29:02):
ahead now, assuming he gets healthy too. Keenan Allen, same
thing as soon as up as well, right, a lot
of it. Cooper doesn't plant the fresh gitis, but Alan's hard.
Cooper's banged out. There. Both like to play week one
should be a problem. Damn will move ahead of him,
assuming as a PPR league theeling moves ahead the same thing.
Maybe moving Robert Woods ahead of him now to Cooper
Cup Uh. Dig These are all guys in the same categorism,
(29:24):
and you might want to move them all up if
look status is gonna be out for a couple of weeks.
Ebron is probably more interesting because I'm not a big
Abron guy this year. Anyway, Jack Doyle's back, that's sort
of gonna eat into it there. I have Ebron Bareley
as a tight end one. You know, I haven't had
a I haven't eleven, so he could move down to
tie into which is fine. Couple of slots. Uh, the
(29:47):
guys behind it, I mean they have wartz to are
you gonna take would you still take Cooper above? Him,
Jordan Reid, uh, Jimmy Graham, Kindle, Rudolph, I could see it.
So I think Ebron takes a hip, not as big
a hit manly because he's already down at that that
level of tight ends there if anyway, and Marlon Mac
would get hurt too, by the way, because teams wouldn't
(30:08):
respect the passing game as much. They load up to
stop the run here. So he goes from range running
back to probably do a low range running back to
and then again you're still drifting Alla Mac. They're not
a good running back to go around. But once again,
his value what he would do for you takes a hit. Yeah. Uh,
Ebron going around around eight in the typical twelve team
(30:28):
leagues according to NFFC A DP and Doyle. I think
it's a bargain in the fourteenth round. I think in
in PPR leagues, if you're looking for like a late
round of flyer for a tight end, provided that he's healthy,
because I know he was dealing with some some some
health issues himself. But I think Jack Jorge could be
a real big bargain in around fourteen. I agree with you.
(30:53):
I don't think Doyle should be forgotten about it's a
problem for fantasy because they have too. It looks like
they have two good tight ends. Now, Matthew Stafford by
that we have to be spitting right now. You've gotta
be freaking kimy. Now this guy I can catch? Uh
really if you're slipping out here. And I doubt the
Indian has called knew what they had too. But I
do think call Andrew Luck when healthy likes using both
tight ends. I think they both still have value. So
(31:13):
I agree with you. You know, I only have Doyle
a couple of slots right now below Ebron, and you're
gonna be I think at the end of the year,
which one has to assuming they both stay healthy. Of course,
the one that has the better fantasy year is the
one to catch the more touchdowns. I think Cats would
be about even. But if Ebron is still that red
zone guy but he was of his touch, of his
touch of his catches last year went to touchdowns. If
(31:34):
he still has that kind of number, well he's gonna
be a monster. But I think Doyle being healthy and
back this season east into that a bit. Yeah, and
he has that that history with Luck too, that likes
throwing the ball to him. So take it. Turn our
attention a little bit to the Browns. Uh, you know,
the oh b J coming up with. Initially they call
(31:56):
it a hip pointer. Then it's not a hip pointer.
And supposedly if was the regular season, he'd play. But uh, yeah,
let this guy has missed a lot of games over
the past. Obviously one of the most talented wide receivers
in football when he's on the field. But the red
flag a little bit with just another injury. Ah, I mean,
(32:19):
I get where you're going. He has been somewhat injury
prone alright. Uh the card to argue that miss four
games last year, twelve the years before, So I get that.
Um Am, I gonna say that this is a red flag. No,
because I think it's spring trading. I think it's a
preseason Why if you're Cleveland White. I mean, this is
how I approach it. I mean, why why would I
(32:40):
want to take a chance what you're banged up? All right?
Sit out. I don't care what you're doing in August.
It means nothing to me. You know, I need you
to be healthy in September. So no, it's not a
red flag. I'm still drafting over Beckham just as high
as I normally would. And right now, that's top five
wide receiver. The only receivers I there's only two receivers
that I know I would draft above that, Hopkins and Adams.
(33:03):
Everybody after that. You I have him right there with
Julio Jones, right there with Michael Thomas. Uh, that's that tear.
That's that tear for me. You know, those three players,
I'd probably it would be tough if I'm in that situation.
I'm sure I will be in drafts. You know, Thomas, Jones, Beckham,
you know which Where am I going? Yeah? I don't
think I see. I don't even go roll in any
of these guys. But if you want to drop Beckham
(33:24):
because he has head injuries, I don't mind that, you know,
I don't mind that at all. Safe you got great
players no matter what you do. So I don't mind
dropping Beckham a little bit because you're worried about his
injury history. I just don't think it's chronic. Well, oh
my god, he's never gonna stay healthy. You know, I
don't think it's that. No, I think the injuries have
been football injuries, unlucky football injuries. When I think of
chronic injuries Joe. I think one of the guys, who, oh,
(33:46):
he's got another hamstring strain? Are you kidding me? Another
growing guys soft tissue over and over and over again
that they just can't say you know what's coming. You
just know it's coming, just a matter of when. Right. Uh.
We talked about Doyle, we talked about Ebron, and right
in between where they're going, right around where Ebron is
(34:07):
going is David and Joku. What are your expectations for
David and Joku there? I mean there's a lot of
amounts to feed now, you know with Angie O, b
j even for maybe even Richard Higgins might might get
some some love from Baker Mayfield. What are we thinking about,
uh in Joku and how he might progress this season?
(34:28):
Tight end for the Browns. Well, I'm not worried about Higgins. Okay,
if if he comes to this conversation, then we have
issues here because I mean someone went down. Uh, But
so I'm not I'm not worried about that at all.
But there are a lot of mouths to feed here,
and this is one thing where you know, the head
coach gets suggested, Uh, He's gonna figure this out. Keep
(34:49):
everybody happy. We don't Mayfield a personality himself, so he's
not gonna be afraid to tell Beckham or to tell
Land to shut the hell up, you know, and maybe
say the way where he takes off some people here. Theoretically,
this offense should be rolling, right, they have all the
piece in place. You got Becka, when you got Andrew,
you know, you got the running game. Uh in Trump,
you gotta go a good tighten into Joeku. Offensive lines
(35:11):
might still be a working progress. But so though it's
not terrible, it's not Arizona. So I mean, but what
happens when you know Land is not getting the ball? Well,
Becker's not getting the ball. You hardly worked always a
run heavy game plan that day, but they still look
because they didn't work out that sort of thing. How
these players going to handle it? I'm curious. I'm very
curious about it. This team that hasn't had expectations in forever,
(35:31):
now this season some people have going to the super Bowl.
I mean, think about that. You're going You're going from
one end of the spectrum to the other real quick, right.

with the George Kurtz Shorn angle producing our show keeping
us flying straight. Uh, let's turn her attention to a
little baseball. We'll get back to football and a few minutes.
(38:14):
Uh wait a minute, Am I back at jfk Uh No, No,
it's that's just shown angle. That's just shown angle keeping
us flying straight. Yeah. Georgia, I had a pick up
my daughter who uh was? She did a trip with
two of her friends. They went on a cruise if
(38:34):
they saw that in Venice and then went to Croatia. Uh, Greece,
you know, I mean living the life these kids. Your
kids are bouncing off of uh you know, slides, God
bless him. Um. But eventually they're gonna be uh taking
big vacations and and doing things that we've never I've
(38:55):
never been to Europe. I need to go to Europe.
I haven't been in Europe either, my uh, I want
to go. I think my oldest niece has. She was
in Spain, But I have been your either. I've been
uh up and down the East Coast, been in Mexico, Canada, Caribbean,
(39:15):
but no Europe for me. So I don't know if
I have a big good desire to go either. By
the way, I have a big up breaking news. Uh.
My niece she hasn't woken. She hasn't woken. She just
just popped down here. So it's been about what is
that about seventeen eighteen hours. Seventeen eighteen hours. Yes, you
give me the thumbs up here. Uh, this is a
(39:35):
refresh Some starts sometimes refreshed. You wake up tired. But
she's she's good. Looks looks refreshed. Better be refreshed. That's
more than I get in like four days. Oh, I'm
glad everything's Okay, keep us posted, keep us supposed to
go down for a nap. Yeah, she might tire yourself
(39:57):
out from, you know, walking down the stairs. She's a vegans.
I'm no fun is she? Hey, and I think that's
a very healthy lifestyle. But I'm a carnivore. Yeah, yeah,
same here. I am an I love you. I live
eating a burger right in front of her. Just give
the immense joint for that. Go for that impossible burger
(40:20):
that our buddy shown angle Joan Angle, you said it
actually this is the whopper, right, but it's a meatless shopper,
and I think Mr Angle said it's he liked it.
He said it was pretty good. Yeah, I actually tried it.
It was not bad, better than I was expecting. Eat
for Fast. Would you order it again? Yeah, i'd't order
(40:40):
it again. Would you want mm hmm? Okay, I give
it a shot just for the heck of it. But hey,
you know, convince ourselves that we're eating healthy junk food.
Why not. I'm a big burger king guy. I don't
want to say big. You know, sometimes I'll treat myself
to uh such as you get that urge right that
(41:01):
that craving for for something unhealthy, and you know, once
in a while it's a McDonald's, once in a while
it's Burger King, and once in a great great while
you go for the belly whops the White Castle, but
the hoof, that's a very rare. White Castle has their
own impossible burgers as well to in your curious do
(41:23):
they Yuh? I bet you that they're regular burgers are
also uh and not maybe impossible, Maybe they're imposter burgers.
I don't know, but they taste so damn good when
they're fresh. So that's the that's the key. Are you
a junk food guy there, George, Oh, the fine junk food? Yeah? Well, well,
(41:44):
let's say, do you treat yourself till let's say, a
burger King or McDonald's or or a Wendy's or something
like that. From time to time? Rarely do I go
to uh Barry McDonald's all Wendy's. Uh yes, every now
and then, but not. I do like my pizza, so
I'll definitely go o little pizza. Pizza is a healthy snack,
I think, sure, Yeah, pizza is healthy right yeah? Okay,
(42:08):
I like it thinking though, but that would be a
lost not unhealthy, I mean it's it's baked, it's got
you know, tomato sauce, which is a vegetable. Got your
dairy products is part of a come on every time.
Potato is a vegetable. Man, I eat my vegetables all
the time. I love my vegetables. Yeah, it's okay that
the decy pride, right. Uh so, all right, saw some
(42:34):
little baseball, Yes, so I was like I was driving,
like I said, on my way to pick up my
daughter at the airport. And uh at the Yankee game,
there's a big another big to do with the with
the umpires, right, and uh, your buddy Brett Gardner likes
to bang his bat at the top of the dugout
right if he's like getting thrown out for that, it
looks like the the umpires are looking looking for him,
(42:56):
right that that that like they probably got the word
he bangs his bet on the on that roof. Again,
you throw them the hell out of that game. Well,
I mean it start off yesterday once aget the officials
the umpire's calls were bad. Again, this is gonna be
a joke. And I this is not just the Yankee games.
By the way, the home playing umpire sucks. I mean,
they're just guessing, you know that That's that's all they
(43:18):
coming down to. Uh, you know, so it's annoying. Uh.
And it's over and over again. We see this where
it's just bad, bad, bad. So the Yankees were upset, uh,
you know, probably throughout Iron Boone and then guarded did
his back back. I mean, listen, a coy to Garden
in the Yankees bug there's no rule against that. And Garden,
who had a meeting, was not told he can't do it,
but he was doing out yesterday before doing it. So
(43:40):
now they're gonna have to find out is that they're
rule against it? Now in all honestly that the empire
overreacted here. Who cares for banging it? What's it? What's
the thing that? And throwing your helmet? All right? With
doug Out? What do you care? Why do you care
what's going on with Dugout other than them yelling at you.
You know that I get and while the badgering has
to stop, But what do you care? They're banging and
(44:00):
he's banging on the dugout and he's banging it, throwing
his helmet or against the bat record, slamming his back,
Why do you care. Why do you care? Why are
you even looking with dugout? That's not your business. So
I think that was wrong. That that being said, God
needs to grow up. All right, this is it's kind
of stupid. It is. I mean, it's it's it's silly.
You're you're throwing a child's tantrum. You know, I think
(44:22):
it is silly. I think it is bad that he
does this. But the party certainly overreacted. He came running
over to the Yankee dugout. I'm gonna say, with child choking, Yes,
it was a joke. It specifically told him why you know,
with the hand motions. Yeah, it was an ump show
and the umpirely wanted to be part of the game,
and he made himself part of the game. It's exactly
(44:43):
what it was. I said, I think the piatly was
wrong here, but Garden needs to grow up. Stop. I mean,
just stop with the the bad thing. It's it's not funny.
You know, you know you've made your point here. Yes,
the umpires are are bad, but they're bad for everybody.
He really are bad for everybody, you know, over the
long over the long season. It probably works out pretty
even there's had to be in a game by game. Yeah,
(45:06):
games it's going be against you. Some games it's not. Yeah, Yankees,
Uh beat the Indians yesterday six to five and forty
two best record in baseball. I saw a stat on
MLB Yankees are twenty two and oh when Adam la Vino,
Tommy Canley, Zach Britton and or all this, Chapman all pitch.
(45:31):
So I say this to you with with the issues
of the Yankees, you know, starting rotation, uh, going deep
into the playoffs? You know, do you do you give
him a chance? You know? And I know we've spoken
about this, and you said that they're built to win,
uh for the regular season, and I am concerned about
their starting pitching. But do you think that that bullpen
(45:54):
is enough to get them through to at least make
a World Series appearance? Because I think this is gonna
be otherwise this would be like one of the first
decades since like the early nineteen hundreds, where they haven't
at least appeared in the World Series. Right, Yes, you're
right about that. It will be quite a while, so
they haven't been in Look at this. My oldest daughter
is now awoken as well. Uh, it'll be quite a
(46:16):
while since they haven't. Everybody's awake and it's eleven o'clock.
Get the hell out of bed. Uh, although in her,
in her defense, my niece had her bed. She stopped
on the couch. So good for you to go too,
being a nice uh, a nice hostess. Yeah, it be
a nice cousin, all right, it'd be it would be
that long. Don't get me wrong. By the way, my
(46:36):
my quarter would give up a bed for mine needs
to sleep over. They very very close. She loves it
when she's here. But anyway, and it would have been
about a hundred years, I think more since the Eggs
haven't made a World Series in a decade. If they
don't make it this year, that being said, they're not
making it this year right there, They're not. Uh, things
have to go. They can hit. We know they can hit.
That's not going to be an issue. I imagine the
relievers will be pretty worn down by then. Although you know,
(46:59):
rest it's out today. The Yankees are the only team
in baseball where no reliever and there is no reliever
has pitched on three in three straight days. You know,
so they they stopped at it too, which is good,
and I don't think I suddenly see that will continue
because there's no reason to stretch it now when you
have you know, a ten game lead. Uh, you know,
so I think that does continue. But that being said,
(47:21):
they've been used a lot because the starters can't give
you any distance. Yeah, that's sort of thing. So I
think that's concerned there. But for the Yankees, they're not
gonna play in the wild card game, right, Uh. We
think they might have the best record, and I think
it's very important for the Yankees because if they have
the best record in the game, that means they'll play
the wind of the wild card, which would be uh,
(47:42):
could be Minnesota, who they've already beaten up that staff,
that staff, they have no pitching staff either, could be Oakland,
same problem, weak pitching staff as far as the starters
are concerned. Tamma Bay stronger staff. But the Yanks have
had no problem with tamp Bay this year. So I
think the Yankees really need that best record. They also
want to play at Yankee Stadium when they play better
band baseball. I think they had we have no problems.
But if they don't, let's say they don't when the uh,
(48:07):
you know, they don't get the best record. When now
you could have facing Cleveland first round. I mean, that's
not gonna be enjoy at all. I know he was.
Oh they just took two out of three. Yeah, Cleveland's
gonna be a different team by the time you get there.
Remember the stars that Cleveland stone at you in. These
are the first three games Police Act conclude co Savali.
You're not seeing any of those guys in the playoffs. Okay,
(48:28):
you're gonna see Kluber, You're gonna see Clevinger, You're gonna
see Bieber, and hell you might see carrass comes around.
Was gonna pitch out of the bullpen, but I wanted
that change by the time that comes around. So you're
gonna face much much stronger pitching. And the problemly I
think he's is Yes, Jamenos, yourman's pitched pretty well. You
(48:49):
know that's great. I do like Tomko your mind. That
could do some damage there. Uh, you have no idea
what you gonna get that. Tanaka. He's hot right now,
but he's been miserable for most of the season. Severino
is your complete wild card. If he goes back to
being Severino, then you have something. Paxton, if you just
gone passed the first inning, can give you something, but
no matter what you do, you're not gonna be able
(49:10):
to get to match their their staff and you certainly
not could be able to match Houston's. So they're not
going to the world. Seriously, it's where was the last
time you can truly remember maybe last year actually where
a team hit its way to the world, you know,
to the world serious out club people, you know. The
Red Sox sort of did it last year. They saw
Chris Sale who was dominant. Hanky's don't have that right now.
They don't have one dominant pitcher to get him through.
(49:30):
As if Severo can come back and be that guy,
which maybe you can fresh arm and all, we can
revisit this, but until then, I'm not sure. Yeah, typically
I find that in the playoffs, dominant pitching, uh, like
the ones that you're talking about with with the Indians
might be able to put it them, you know, will
(49:52):
you know, stop free swinging, power hitting teams. Now, the
this Yankee team, you know, they got well Mayhew and
uh you love what Herschel has done, so they're not
totally full of total free swingers anymore. And I'll tell
you I was I think I was talking about this
with the Cam yesterday. I'm not really looking forward to
(50:13):
having standing back. I almost wish he would just take
the rest of the year off because I kind of
like the consistent exactly right, Gean Carlo what was his
former name, John? Mike Mike right, Mike stand so? Uh
but and yeah he should um but her mon. Supposedly
(50:38):
the Yankees, Uh did I read this right, George? Where Uh?
Supposedly the inning's limit is not going to be a
big concern for them. It's gonna be a concern. They said,
it won't be It won't stop it from pitching the playoffs.
That's what they said, you know. Uh, And I don't
(50:58):
mind that. Once again, I was surprised the other day
he went to the seventh inning. There was no reason
that the Yankees were up big. I think it was
against Baltimore. Take him out saving inning. As far as
they his pitch cat was fine. You know, maybe that's
what the Yankees go by more. You know, some teams, Yes, An,
he's poor, but they also go by um strenuous innings
and to make goes yourman, And that game didn't have
any strenuous innings, you know, so maybe that's what it
(51:21):
goes by. Modill. Uh well, than but how any of
those things are tough? You know what, you really have
to extend yourself and you know, you know what he's
Uh no, his pitch counts doesn't tell it all either,
you know so well. I wondered that it's what the
Yankees use. I don't know if they he was a
strict you know that, and that's it. But they can
they can, you know, Cashman said, he goes because German
(51:42):
was already on Medala the I l for about three
weeks earlier in the season that that could be how
they control it and maybe they give it another you know,
except a couple of starts in September once once the
vision is called clinched in the home field, forget it.
Uh lord knows. They may not start anybody, but they'll
they'll watch German so much somewhat, but they're not gonna
sit him, you know. So I'm not worried about that.
(52:03):
Uh yeah, for the Yankees. Man, I don't blame Charash
for sais before. I don't blame him for not going
out and acquiring a start at the deadline. He would
have had to pay an arm in the leg and
one that your starter wasn't gonna make a big difference.
You still weren't gonna match up with Houston to Cleveland.
You're gonna have to hit, You're gonna have to play
good baseball, and the Yankees have a shot. I don't
think they'll get there because it's just too difficult, but
I could see away where they can if they can
(52:24):
just you know, get the home field, play the week
team in the first round, and then you worry about
I assume to be Houston. You're worry about Houston in
the second round. You know, maybe their staff won't be
able to line up where they can pitch, you know,
very lander, cole and cranky. I mean, I can't see
how it doesn't line up, but maybe the way they
won't be able to patch up six out of the
seven games, you know, but it's important the Yankees to
(52:45):
play at home. Right. Uh, we'll talk another few minutes
of baseball to start the next segment. Maybe a player
too that you can look at off the league wave
of wire. Then we'll talk a little Houston Texans Detroit
Lions football. You're listening to Weekend Fantasy Upday Fantasy Sports
(53:05):
on Radio Network M
