You're listening to the Fantasy Sports Radio Network. You worked
all week work work, work, work, work, work, work, work, work,
You didn't have time to look at your fantasy lineups,
(00:44):
but don't be afraid. That's why we give you weekend
fantasy Update. I think that took everybody off guard here. Uh,
(01:08):
shocking would be the world. He's only twenty nine years old,
played in the NFL seven years. If we know he's
a very good quarterback when healthy, we also know he's
not healthy a lot. He has missed twenty six games
in his career, missed the entire season due to the
shoulder injury, and apparently, if you listen to the press
commerce yesterday, he just got tired of the injuries, the
pain going through the rehab and uh as he put
up the cycle, the never ending cycle he was always
(01:29):
in as far as rehabbing injuries. Uh. Personally, I don't,
I don't. I don't blame a football player for retiring.
I don't. It's a brutal sport. It's uh, you know,
it's getting in a whole bunch of car Kissinger. Quality
of life generally will not be the same physically. The money,
obviously is great. And Andrew Luck has made over a
hundred million dollars in his career. But uh, and so
he's well said, but he also gave up probably another
(01:49):
hundred million. I would think at least that guaranteed money
the next contract he would have signed if you could play.
I'm not saying he's gonna play like Tom Bradleys forty
five or fifty, but if you're gonna play, it's close
to forty. That's a lot of money he turned down here.
So let you know that what he was feeling there. Uh,
So Andrew Luck no more. Uh personally, Yeah, I had
a draft last night, super Flex League home league and
(02:12):
draft started at eight. Uh. Now it's a league in
which I said, super Flex lea six point for a
touchdown pass. I did keep Jameis Winston. I had the
first pick overall. I uh, it's a keeper league, so uh,
I took the Shawn Watson was available. I took him.
My homes was a keeper for somebody, and uh I
just started to be greedy. I did have extra draft picks,
so I'm not really hurt all that much here. But
in round three or four, Luck was there and I
(02:35):
took him. And about an hour later is when I
found out about the news. And uh, I was the
first person at the table to find out thing. It
comes across my phone and you know, people can see
me looking at my phone. They're like, what's wrong. I'm like,
Andrew Luck retired. They think I'm lying, and they think
I'm making this up. You know, if I'm gonna play
a poctical joke, it's not gonna be on somebody on
(02:55):
my own team that I got screwed out of here.
So I guess that it uh affects us all. And
I know there are a lot of people out of
Fantasy owners out there, a lot of fans out there
that are angry at Luck. You know, they're they're piste
off the organization. You know, it said no no, but
none of us knows what Luck is going through, how
much pain the injuries have really done. Here is the
(03:15):
timing good? No, it's not good for anybody, all right,
It's not good for the Colts obviously, to find out
literally two weeks, two weeks before the Seaton starts, that
they're not going to have their top quarterback, one of
the best in the game. The Colts are a team
that are primed to make a Super Bowl run. I
mean they are. I mean this is that that good
a team, and they they were probably only going to
(03:36):
get better. They still have cap room, a lot of
capitom where they can make additions each wolf season. Uh.
When I say a super Bowl run, I'm not saying
they're the favorite. But their top three, top four in
the a f C O War you know chiefs Uh
charges have the injury problems of their own pages of course,
because they never go away. Uh, teams like that. They
were certainly there a team to be reckoned with. And
(03:58):
now I think Kobe precenton nice backup quarterback. I do,
and I think he'll be a I don't think this
team will implode without Luck, But you can't tell me
that I did the same team. You know, you can't
tell me that you know, Luck is a inn all
Pro quarterback per set. Actually, I think he's a very
good back. But I think he could develop a solid starter.
But he's not Angel Luck, you know. So that's uh
(04:19):
gonna be an issue. It's gonna be an issue with
t Why Hilton owners, from malin Mac owners, for Eric
Abrown owners. You know, a lot of drifts already happened. Uh.
I think it'd be silly to say, oh, I'm not
dropping any of those players in my rankings. Of course
you are. You have no choice. The question is how
far you know t Y Hilton. I've always in drafts,
including last night, it came down to Hilton, Edelman, Cooper, Feeland.
(04:43):
There's always gonna be the four guys I'm looking at
after the uh the big ten go off the board,
and in this drah I had to and I believe
the Scott Fish Bowl I took t Why Hilton, you
know when I'm a little worried about that. Once again,
I have a hard time seeing him being that kind
of you know, big plague I would present rather than Luck.
I don't think he's going to be terrible, but now
(05:04):
I would have him more of as a low end
wide receiver too. I'd probably take him out of this
tier and put him at the top of the next tier.
I would certainly rather have an Edelman Thilan Uh. Cooper
has an injury of the problem of his own with
the Depending on who you believe, it's plant the fast
year all it is, it's this, it's that, is fascia,
it's a sprain. You know, we don't know what what
Cooper's dealing with here, but he either way you look
(05:25):
at it, he has an injury problem of his own.
So we'll see what happens as far as that's concerned.
So I said I would drop Hilton probably about four
or five splots. Eric Ebron I already barely I barely
had him in my top twelve, mainly because I never
saw I didn't think that his touchdown to reception right
could be anywhere near what it was last year. So
many touchs and Andrew looked looked at him in the
(05:47):
end zone over and over and over again. He was
his first look with a lot of touchdowns. And Jack
Doyle is healthy this year, at least the start the year,
at least right now, And you gotta figure Doyle would
get his share of touch this. They signed Devin Funchius,
who really is a tight end playing wide receiver. An
the big body that's not all that fast, So there's
(06:07):
all you know. Plus of course you got hilted himself,
so I wasn't a big apron guy, just didn't see
it happening, you know, low end tight end one. And
now I would probably drop him even I don't think
I put him as a tight end one. I think
I'll drop out of tight ends. I mean, obviously you'd
rather have you know, kittle ERT's uh and Kelsey over him.
All right, those are those are TiO ones. My next
year there is Ingram, Howard and Henry. I'll take them
(06:29):
over him. I'd rather have McDonald, the Joeku Walker, Cook Hooper.
So Ebrons were struggling right right right at number twelve
to stay as a tight end one there h Jordan
Read has got a concussion of his own, so we
certainly don't want uh, we don't want to deal with
Jordan Reading his concussions. Girl, great talent went healthy, never
(06:51):
ever healthy? All right, so uh my uh my partner
today joining me the replace a cover for Galina the
cover for my blue at one or end or both.
You hear us all week on Football Frenzy, Fantasy Football Frenzy,
The Fancy Chatz, Jim Day, Jim, how you doing. Jim's
(07:17):
awfully quiet today. Uh, well, we'll get back to Jim
will be joining us at some point. I I would
think Jim would have something to say about this topic.
Just a guess here. Jim also want a draft. Last
night he had an auction league. So curiously, what if
somebody auction k Luck before that happened? Uh, listen that
there are a lot of angry I mean, I'm saying
angry tweets, people yelling at Luck. I think it's kind
(07:37):
of silly, you know, I I and I said, I
I understand it, over and over again. The timing was terrible,
absolutely terrible. All right, I get it. You know. I
wasn't happy. I'm not mad at Luck. I mean, I
think it's kind of silly to be mad at a play.
We don't know what he's going through, what kind of
pain he's going through on a daily basis. Was I
I'm certainly shocked. You know, I'd be lying, I said,
(07:58):
if I said I wasn't When I drafted him. Last night,
I mentioned I already had Winston. I already had Watson
super Flex League. I had a lot of I made
from trans from trades I made last season. I had
extra draft picks so I could afford Edi. Luck didn't
play the first couple of weeks because of the calf.
I was like, I can afford it, no problem, I
can wait. Obviously, I can't afford to have him out
the entire season. Uh, that's a little different here. I'm
(08:19):
not convinced that this retirement will be a lifetime, I think,
And what's gonna read raft leads. You can probably move
on out leaks gonna play this year. But he's only
twenty nine. I can see in two years from now
he's completely healthy and he comes back. Wouldn't shock me
at all. So those in dynasty leagues may want to
hold onto him. UH, keeper leagues, depending how lung, and
(08:40):
keep him four and well who else you did to
give up as a keeper to keep him, you know,
and the penalty of course to keep him as well.
Interesting decision we'll have to make here. His father is
Oliver Luck, who's now the commissioner of the XFL and
UH former NFL quarterback. So who knows what his father
has told him, but it's a future health I said,
football brutal sport, just brutal. I'll never never uh growing
(09:04):
a player for making the money he makes a football
you know, you know it's your your quality of life
is not the same. I've been watching footballs the seventies
and a group of guys like Earl Campbell. Earl Campbell
was a beast back then, an absolute beast, and now
he's in a wheelchair, you can barely walk and that
that's just said to me, that's because you get getting
into what car colasions. Every game is not more from
the blocking. So it's it's a brutal, brutal sport here.
(09:26):
And we've seen this more and more with the pist decade,
athletes sort of retiring out of nowhere when they could
still play. You know, you may luck Barry Sanders if
people remember him. Uh, Calvin Johnson make a trons a
few years ago, right, he was great? Do you want
to go back even further? Gayale says, I think you'll
Stays is probably the closest comparison to luck here as
far as just coming out of nowhere. Uh. Jim Brown
(09:47):
I saw Brown was Sarah's play, but Jim Brown was
retired early. Back then, of course they weren't making the
money they're making now. You know, Jim Brown went into acting.
Maybe there was moment I assume there it might have
been more money for him there. I don't know. I
don't know the reason why Sarah's retor. Uh, Barry was
out of nowhere. Right. We were all shocked and Barry
Sanders retired the great town he was. He had years
left and he if he would have stayed, he might
(10:07):
be the old time leading Russian and not am At Smith.
You know. Calvin Johnson was another shock. You know, no
one stole that coming. But I said I didn't. I
didn't blame these players. It's a tough, brutal sport. So
what to do with Luck? Uh, it's actually what do
the quarter set? You have this question? Will? He asked Jim.
Where where he ranks per set? I've said it over
and over again, and we mentioned all these shows. If
(10:30):
you drafted Luck, I really have a problem with Depending
on where you drafted him, he certainly was falling down. Uh.
He was top three coming into the scene. He's probably
number three outside of Mahomes Watson luck that's why you
were drafting him. I had dropped him to number nine
on my rankings before we heard last night. Prissette is
not number nine. You know you're not drafting were Set
(10:50):
as a quarterback one. You know I would have him
in my as as in the super Flux. Yes, he's
a quarterback to low end quarterback to somewhere in the twenties.
You still you're still taking guys like Drabinsky, car Uh
Cousins over him. He's right there. You know, do you
believe in Garoppolo? Is he gonna make that to change?
How donald you gonna take that next step? I would
probably take per Set over guys like Stafford. I just
(11:12):
don't trust Stafford Andy Dalton, only because I'm worried that
Dalton gets replaced at some point during the season. I
would take him over fold Flacco, anybody like that. Uh,
certainly over any of the rookie quarterbacks outside of Murray. No,
I would take Murray over per Set. So I said,
low end quarterback to there. If you're a luck owner
and you can, you know, I don't know when you're
(11:32):
a waiver wires running, when your fabs running, it first,
come first, or yeah, you want to run to it
and you want to get perset, and soon there are
no other quarterbacks out there. You know, if you're in
one of those leagues, you gotta protect yourself. We advised
many times if you drafted Luck, didn't really have a
problem with it, but you better draft another quarterback. You know.
Mainly he goes. We're worried that Luck would be out
a week or two, you know that maybe doesn't play
(11:52):
week one, or maybe he's do you know he was
gonna do play week one but show up that week
sort of like what what might have with Ezekiel Elliott
And then maybe he didn't want to start him if
you had other guys on your roses to see how
he looks weak one in case he was rusty, you
know that sort of thing. So we were very very
cognizant of that. And now we lose Luck for the year.
And like so there were other players. We'll talk about
Marlon mac uh. He's been dropped. I know. Uh, I
(12:16):
believe he went from forty one overall small drop, you know,
just small drop. I think that's about right. But once again,
with running backs mm hm, and I understand the problems there,
But then you got you have a heartbeat, you're starting
running back, You're gonna be drafted. You know, I'm looking
at Mac. Was before this announcement, was it that named teen,
(12:36):
you know, after Chris Carson Henry, before Aaron Jones, Damian Williams.
I would certainly put Aaron Jones and Damian Williams ahead
of him. Now you know, I would still have Mac
ahead of Ingram Drake. Uh. Maybe maybe I put Montgomery
above him, maybe, you know that sort of thing. Uh,
the New England running backs, White Michelle. Maybe maybe I'm
(12:57):
going there put one of them above him. Maybe maybe,
But I don't think somebody's right there with those guys.
He only dropped a couple of lots. You know, I'm
not gonna panick about that. We'll talk, We'll say we'll talk. Well,
was about Jim Day. Jim played plays as I'm kind
of charcat how many leaves he has these guys in
and he's her handling, you know that sort of thing.
So we can't fantasy update. Which warning when I was
gonna talk about today, and Andrew Luck solved that problem
(13:19):
real quick. We weren't even talked about Lamar milliad and
the headaches that brings as well here. So we'll be back.
Hopefully we'll get Jim Day here, get the things going
straightened out here. We can't fantasy update. I'm George Kurtz.
We'll get back Maurice Allen two thousand and fifteen, two
thousands and sixteen Europe being Long Drive Tour Champion two
(13:42):

starting quarterback against the Dallas Cowboys into a couple of
weeks spot Daniel Jones should be the one they're starting.
Is there what you want? With the Giants? They're freaking loyal.
They can't break up with this guy. I know it's
rough either way, it's going to be painful, and it's
(14:24):
like course screwing Elie over here after everything he did
for us. But it's pretty damn clear Daniel Jones is
better than Eli Manning right now, Sweet Days, not AMMI
starting on f F and T S Y radio and
on your popular podcast providers. You know, as an allergy suffer,
you're wired differently. I sure feel that way. That's why
there's NASI chord. It's different too. You see, a histamines
(14:47):
nasal chord targets and inhibits more of the allergic inflammation
that causes your congestion and other nasal allergy symptoms. My
Aunta Histington doesn't do that. None of them do. Oh,
that is different, and it's why NASI chords more effective

(16:12):

we supposed to do now? If Cam Newton just put

different things, leaving me all by myself here. Hopefully I
will be joined. We're trying to get Jim Day. Jim's here.
We're just having some issues trying to get him set
up here. But we'll have the fantasy chaz. Uh. You
can hear Jim Day and I Chris Venture each and
(17:21):
every weekday from one to two pm. Uh, Fantasy football Frenzy. Uh.
I believe next week we're going over. I want to
see the a f C West, the last of our
team previews before the seedon starts. Uh. Looking obviously we're
all looking forward to see it's starting here and Uh,
I sind h angreel luck. This is going to dominate
(17:41):
all of the talk today tomorrow, but maybe for days
for weeks as it's just a bad timing as far
as this is concerned, I know everyone's curious as the well,
what's everyone Everyone's blaming luck now, so people blaming the team.
We'll probably never know exactly what happened here. Apparently, if
(18:01):
you believe the stories. Luck has been contemplating this for
a couple of weeks and uh, it just leaked out
yesterday and I got news for you. But no, this
is not being made a big enough story of how
did this leak out? This came about when he was
they had a home plug preseason gating yesterday, the Colts
home preseason again. He's on the sung ondeline, he's yucking
it up with a couple of teammates when this came out,
and I imagine fans and doing just like I was,
(18:22):
the low going you know, WTF, What's what what I mean? Uh,
it sounds to me like somebody who was trying to
embarrass him from from the organization, you know, That's what
it sounds to me like. You know that, Uh they're mad,
ticked off, and then they let it leak while this
(18:42):
is going on here. So that's what I think, you know,
not that it matters, but uh, pretty screwed up. And
I would be pretty damn angry if I was bucking
about that. By the way, I said that they're going
to do everything they can, everything they can to try
and talk an out of it. You know, whether it
takes weeks, months, a year, I'll try and get him back.
You don't let that kind of talent go without trying
(19:03):
very hard. But it also looks like, look, you know
as conference that he was at ease with his decision.
That's why in a reed draft league I mentioned the league.
I'm in the super Flex. I have luck he was.
It's a keeper league, and I would be able to
keep next year in the second round, which in this
league is would be worth it. His type of quarterbacks
super flex six points I touchdown past quarterbacks are overvalued
(19:24):
in this league. But I'm probably not. Probably not for
two reasons. One, I'm not so sure he's going back
next year. I think it could be a couple of years,
in which is I wouldn't be keeping him anymore. And
also I have other keepers. You know, I'm not. I'm
not dead with This is a deeper league as far
as I think that, we have an eight man bench,
(19:45):
So I could eat luck if I think it's coming
back this year. I thought it's gonna be a month
he'll feel better and come back. Yeah, I could eat it. Yeah,
It's not a big deal, and it also wasn't why
in this league I drafted aj Green. I can wait
a couple of weeks. Not a big deal, deep bench.
You know I drafted Melvin Gordon Man they once again
for keeper value of it, eight man bench. I can
stash him. You know, I mentioned I've extra draft picks.
That's how I played this. Even if he comes back
(20:06):
in week eleven, I think vinin to holding out a
long time. But he'll be back by weektown week eleven
to get that out year of service time I can.
I can hold him for that long. Not a big deal.
So luck's not that situation. And I said, you listen
to the press conference, and most of us did. I
got a hand it to him. He was sincere, he
was honest, he wasn't trying. Uh. I think you could
tell tells that this decision hurt him, that he wasn't Uh,
(20:29):
they didn't take it lightly. Yeah, you can make you
as fans, fantasy owners. Yeah, you're gonna get some people
who just you know, he's a he's an asshole to
take the money and run that sort of thing. Uh,
you know at that And apparently Jim Day has an opinion. Jim, Hey, George,
how you doing. Good morning? Jim, Hey, you're doing um? Okay?
(20:52):
So I have lots of opinions, but I wasn't exactly sure.
I just Cook came on to tell end of your conversation.
Who are you talking about in this case? Uh, well shocking,
you know. First, it's Jim Day. Everybody Fantasy tays, welcome Jim.
Thank you for covering. I don't even know who you're
covering for. I don't know who's supposed to be. It's
not anymore. I just showed when weekend Fantasy update. I'm
just praying I have somebody with me. So it was.
(21:15):
I think we had all three of us, Blue and
Galina yesterday and now today it's just me, uh and Jim.
So thank you, Jim, thank you once again for covering.
Jim has done a lot of yeoman's work over the
past couple of weekends. He's covered for me, He's covered
for Galina, might coming for Blue. I don't even know.
But uh always has been a little busy for us.
But uh, I know for me personally, for with birthdays,
my daughter's birthday, Uh, my birthday talking to which do
(21:37):
you still have the uh the bounty thing and they
took a Thursday. Uh, you got a lot of days
for that money. Yeah, I know. I bitched about it,
Jim on different shows, including with You That you Know six.
I only had it one day, but they delivered it
a day early and they let it to me. What Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday,
(21:57):
They and I got five days, so I am not complaining.
Well worth it, So if you want to, I used it,
and listen, I'm not afraid to tell you, man, I
used it when I want. This thing is twenty two
ft in the air, and the first time I went
on it, when I went down, I said it, oh,
you know, in the S word, because I didn't really
you're going down fast, You're going down steep. That didn't
(22:18):
quote me off god here. But it was fun. It
was definitely fun. I can see why my kids loved it.
All right, you know I have to say, I mean,
I just wish there was something that happened yesterday that
we could be talking about today. Oh now, Jim, my
first grand Now you had an auction last night? All right? Yes,
And how did you find out about the Angrew Luck?
(22:41):
I found out about it on Twitter while right in
the middle of our auction. Did anybody draft Andrew Luck
before that happened? Uh? Well, just see this, this is
the funny part um. I don't have many shares of
Andrew Luck in all my leagues, just mostly because I
usually don't draft a quarterback that early. But last night
we're in the auction and the quarterbacks are going early,
(23:04):
but they're going expensive too, and I'm like, wow, that's
kind of weird. So I decided I'm going to be
the smart guy and see what happens, and I throw
Andrew Luck out there as a nomination for five bucks. Now,
I figured, if it neither goes through it five bucks
and I get to steal if he if he comes
back and he's healthy, or somebody just takes it and
and runs with it, and then I can deal with
(23:25):
that as well. Nobody bites. I get Andrew Luck for
five bucks. I'm feeling like I'm the smartest guy on
the planet. What a great steal. Ten minutes later, the
news hits that Andrew Luck is retiring. I mean, it
couldn't have been any worse timing, uh for me. But
then the bigger part is that this was an industry
auction and we literally had to pause the auction for
(23:48):
a half hour so everybody could scatter and go make
the news known to their people, so it just blew
everything up for me. Last night. It was kind of nuts.
It was I said I I had a home league draft,
straight draft, and I said it before I took him
in a round. It was either round three or four. Uh,
and I took it as a he technically he's I
(24:09):
guess my third quarterback because I already had tw quarters.
I kept Winston and I took Watson number one so
I can survive out him. Yeah. I had a lot
of ex draftics, uh, from trades I made last year,
so that the luck is not going to kill me.
But I thought it. It's like, oh, I got luck
around three. I am solidly. I got my bonds covered
lucking and Watson is my top two quarterbacks and the
super flex. I am golden and I could survive luck
(24:30):
if he's out. For the first couple of weeks. I
was feeling good. My brothers yelling at me. He's like, oh,
you screwed the videos that we're taking a third quarterback.
I don't care anybody else a man. I want to win,
and uh, I get it on my phone. I think
I think through Matthew Berry's a fantasy app, and I
get the atem shot like, and I'm looking at it,
and everybody's like, what's wrong? They probably think something wrong
with my family, and I'm like, Andrew Luck retired. They
(24:52):
think they think I'm lying. They actually think I'm lying,
that I'm doing a practical joke that I had to
give my phone up, you know, to show them that
that's the truth. And then I guess about five to
say the rest of them getting stuff on their phones.
But uh, you know you me, Chris, everybody in this
stage we've been we've been talking about Luck for a while.
I didn't hear any of us mentioned retirement. Not Oh
(25:14):
come on, you know, if anybody mentioned it, it was
as a joke. Nobody really joked it. Seriously, you know,
it wasn't a thing. It really wasn't. I mean, somebody
out there is gonna be crowing today to see I
told you he was gonna retire. But you know most
of that is total ps. I mean, I mean, you
and I've been watching football for the seventies. I said
before you we could sort of compare this to Megatron. Uh, Sanders,
(25:38):
you want to go back up really before you and
I Jim Brown, Gail says, guys who are tired out
of nowhere. But uh, I don't know if we've had
one at during draft time, you know, I mean they
thing that was cold Jimmy, my mind. Their top three,
top four team, a super Bowl possible team in the
a f C. And you just lost your top quarter
you know, one of the best quarterbacks in the game.
(26:00):
So I guess my next question for you is, uh,
give me the your NFL view and your fantasy view
on JR. Kobe Persette. Oh uh, tough following around Um.
There's no doubt about it. I mean, he's a good
backup quarterback. But at this point, that's all he is,
is a good backup quarterback. Uh. You know, he had
a decent season in when luck was at there through
(26:24):
for just over three thousand yards, only had thirteen passing touchdowns,
but only through seven interceptions in sixteen games. Not bad
number that side, but the thirteen passing touchdowns is definitely telling.
Um had four rushing touchdowns, which give him a little
bit of something. But you know, another year and a
half goes by, he knows his offense a little bit more.
(26:46):
They do have more weapons. It's gonna be hard to tell,
but at this point I really can't trust for set
as my true number one or that you know, at
this point in a super flex, maybe as a deep
number two, maybe more likely three. But the realities, I
think this team has to go out and find another quarterback.
(27:06):
I don't think they You know, this is a this
is a team that had all the aspirations of making
a run for the super Bowl with luck, without luck
with presenting there that just doesn't come into play at all.
And I think they're gonna have to go out and
make a move and find another quarterback. And the more
I kept thinking about it, the more I kept thinking
about it. You know what would be a perfect solution
(27:27):
for them for right now, for this year, trading for
Eli Manning. It gives the Giants and outward Manning so
that he goes out on an up. No, they didn't
have to force him to to the bench. Um. It
gives Indianapolis a starting quarterback that can throw in this
league and has played in this league, and you give
him that good offensive line should be able to do
(27:49):
fairly well. Uh. You know, this is of course the
stadium his brother had all the success and he's actually
won a super Bowl in that stadium. So to me,
I mean that. I think that makes perfect sense. It's
obviously Eli still wants to play. Daniel Jones is playing
well in the preseason. We know he's gonna be the
future anyway. Why not make the transition now and get
(28:12):
something for Eli as opposed to pushing him to the
bench and getting nothing. I have no no problem with
Daniel Jones starting now. I don't think they'll do that. Uh.
I think the problem is what can they Let's say
that they do, UH talk Indianapolis and with Giants talk,
what can we giants? It's possibly expecting the trade. I
mean maybe a fifth round pick, but that that's about right.
(28:35):
That's about when I was going with as well. And
you think the mayor would do that, giveaway Eli for
a fifth round pick he plans on not a difference,
then I understand that. But if he first of all
they planned that and on starting Daniel Jones at some
point this year, which is most likely the plan. If
they get off to a bad start, um, then at
(28:57):
that point, why not try and get something for Eli now?
Because you're not gonna get anything for him? Then I
agree with you. I think you're talking to smart football movie.
I just think emotion is gonna get involved here. I
think football move. If you could trade elive for a fifth,
you do it once again. You know he's not starting
next year, and I agree with you. At some point
this year Daniel Jones is coming in and my mindus
week seven. I think that's the perfect spot there. But uh,
(29:20):
I know Joe Colina thinks it's gonna be much later
in the season. I think it's week fifteen he thinks.
But either way, Daniel Jones at some point is your
future and he has to play. So I completely agree.
I just I don't think Mary is gonna do it,
and uh, I just you know the end of they
talk about it. But that brings up an interesting question though,
that well, Indianapolis, because even if you got any quarterback
(29:41):
doesn't have to be like could be anybody, I mean
to learn the system? When can you remember, I mean,
at any time it's a contending team getting a quarterback
at some point in the season or right now two
weeks from the season starts and getting that quarterback up
to speed. I mean, really, any and can you can
you anyone? Anyone? Anytime? You know? I think I can't
(30:04):
think of anybody either, But you know it's not like
something like this happens all the time. But look, in Eli,
you do get a smart quarterback. I'm pretty sure you
could probably learn the offense pretty quickly, or they could
scale it down a little bit to meet what he
can learn quickly. Um, and he'd still be more effective
then Rissette. Um. In my mind, I just think he would.
(30:26):
If they think Brissette was going to be the guy
that they were gonna turn to at some point and
they want to see him expand and grow, then maybe
they stick with him. But I just haven't seen anything.
You know, again, seventeen we didn't really see anything enough
out of him to think that he could be their
future go to guy, and I don't think they did.
I think they thought he was there good back up
(30:47):
and they were going to keep him as a good backup,
But I don't think they ever envisioned him becoming their
franchise guy going forward. As far as I said, I
I leaned towards you. I think he's a very good
backup quarterback, somebody that most teams would love to have
as a backup. But starting I'd be a little hesitant
as well. I know some people disagree with us. Lewis Riddick,
(31:09):
you know ESPN former, you know he's been with Patriots,
been with the other Eagles. He thinks per se is
gonna be very good. That I don't I don't want
to say, I want to put words map, But reading
his stuff, he sort of thinks that, yes, it's a
losing Luck will hurt, but not immensely that they'll survive
a per set. I disagree. I think it has to hurt.
Bluck Is was in a town you don't see coming
(31:30):
across all the time. Perse's not that I think they'll
at the very least, they're gonna have to search for
a bank quarterback, you know, someone They're gonna need, uh
some insurance behind pursets. So I think they'll be curious
to see what they do. They have the cap room,
they could do really whatever they want as far as
that's concerned. So it'll be interesting. It'll be wow. All right.
Uh So listen, Luck, it is what it is. Let
(31:51):
me ask you this. Do you think Luck comes back
at some point, whether it be this year, next year,
or two years down the line. Oh, do you think
we've seen the last and Andrew Luck as a player.
I think we've seen a asked of Andrew Luck as
a player. I don't think he made this decision lightly.
I don't think it's you know, likely that he's gonna
come back from this. Uh you know, probably a long,
an lot, you know, hard journey for him to get
(32:13):
to this point. But let's face it, he said it all.
He said, I'm not having any fun in this anymore,
and I just don't think I could put my all
into it. I would be very surprised if he comes
back from this. I don't think it happens. I wonder
in a couple of years when he's healthy, completely healthy,
if he misses the game, he's only twenty nine, he's
only be thirty one. Then, Uh, he doesn't how he
doesn't need the money. He's made a hundred million dollars
(32:34):
in his career, grant, he's probably turned down another hundred
million overall learnings he could have made. Uh we'll talk
about this more after the break. We're going to break
a little bit. But he was on a Hall of
Fame pace career too. Absolutely, we had the third most
touchdowns at this point in his career behind Rogers, and
I forget who else might be Brady. Uh So he
was certainly there, but no actually had. He had second
(32:57):
most through six seasons, only behind Marino. He was ahead
of Peyton Manning space, he was head of Russell Wilson's
face through the first six years, and in passing yards
he was third behind Manning and Marino for through six years. Stunning,
just stunning to see Andrew look no longer part out
of and whatnot. So we've gut to go about t

we can fancy up. This's gonna be little bou football tonight.
Um joked earlier baseball that yeah, I was. I wasn't
(36:58):
gonna say that, Jim. I wasn't gonna throw undther the bus,
But there you go. M don't do no baseball. We
can fancy uh. There's no baseball today. I'd be bitching
about the beautiforms anyway. Uh, that fan not a big
fan at all of the Uh. I don't know if
the color rush that baseball is doing, but it's been
black and white. I think my TV's broke when when
I first told these things. Anyway, all right, James, I mentioned, uh,
(37:23):
let's talk. Let's me know, Andrew Lucky, you sort of
screwed here. I mean there's something you can do. Hopefully,
if you drafted Luck, you did have a good backup.
We had been advising that for a long time. Now
that you drafting Luck, make sure you get a backup
in because we don't be out a couple of games.
So if you listen to that, you should be okay here.
And it was some perfect here. Not to worry about it,
because there's so many good quarterbacks going so late in
(37:43):
drafts that you know, if you wanted to take the
shot on Luck and you were worried about the injury,
you could still wait so long into like the round
and gets still get a good quality backup like Rivers
cousins are Brady. Yeah, you should be covered. And if
you didn't, if you if you have to look and
you didn't, I mean as if you drafted Scott Fishbowl
(38:03):
in July. You didn't dret the back up. Okay, I
understand that we didn't know about this injury at high
but you know, any kind of draft in the past
four or six weeks and you didn't drat the backup.
I didn't really feel bad for you. You should have
known better, go out and get perset. He should be available. Uh.
How do you feel about t Y Hilton? Are you
dropping him? Leaving him alone? What do you think is? Uh?
I guess his future holds with your Kobe percent. Well, look,
(38:26):
he played the whole season with Prisette in was targeted
a hundred four times, but only came away with that
from fifty seven receptions and did have nine hundred sixty
six yards, so a really nice yards for catch average,
no doubt, but only the four topch sound. So it
definitely has to push Hilton down a little bit until
they go out and grab another quarterback, which I think
(38:48):
is ultimately what I Look, if they really think they
have a chance to go to the super Bowl, You're
not going to Super Bowl percent. I don't care what
people say. I don't care. It's just not gonna happen.
Good quality backup. He's just not good enough to get
to his Super Bowl. I'm sorry, Um, I just don't
believe that. So Hilton definitely takes a hit for me,
I have to push him down. All these reseachers get
(39:09):
pushed down. There's no doubt in my mind. Yeah. I mean,
you go from again Hall of Fame caliber quarterback to
a good quality backup, and everybody's got to take a
hit except possibly one guy. There's one guy here that
may benefit from this, and this is the guy that
in absolutely had a good rapport with Brissette. Um. He
(39:34):
led the team in targets. He had a hundred five,
one more than Hilton Um. He had eighty receptions but
only for six nine yards. So it wasn't, you know,
like they were going downfield and only had the four touchdowns.
But Jack Doyle was a huge part of that offense
for Brissetting It. It always looked like when Brissette needed
somebody to go to, he was targeting Doyle. So Doyle
(39:56):
for me, who has been going extremely rate late in
draft because everybody's still riding the recency bias of what
Ebron did last year drafting him really early. Doyle coming
back from the injury has been going off to the
board round. I think you know, this absolutely gives him
a shot to move up. Uh in in the ranking
is easily. And this is a guy that I've been
(40:18):
grabbing anyway. So I love this for him, but not
for the team. Yeah, I think it's I think it's
fair to say we don't like this with a team
at all. Uh Let's get back to Hilton for one second.
All right, I said it earlier and more on the draft.
I've been in, Jim, and lord knows, you've been in
more than I had. Hell, you've been more in more
than anybody. Uh. I always seem to be debating and
(40:41):
to the big guys come up the board, you know,
or our top receivers, the Browns, Evans Alan, I always
seem to be debating between Cooper Edelman, Theelan Hilton. Every
draft it comes out to one of these guys. I know,
I got Hilton in one league. It might have been
the Legal with you, even the Frenzy Legal Equipment Scott
fish Bowl. I forget which one. Uh Uh, I'm not
(41:02):
upset about it. Give me a little worried, but I'm
not upset. That being said, what is injury now, would
you still have him in this tier with Cooper Edelman
feeling or do you have any part of it? You
take the other guys first, or is he out of
the tier maybe top of the next day. Yeah, he's
in the next tier for me, he definitely moves out
of that. I have Feeling easily over him. I have
Edelman easily over him. Um, I would like to put
(41:24):
Cooper over him at this point, but that foot injury
has me a little concerned. So yeah, it is concerning
to hip, it really is. Um, you gotta drop him
a little bit. I can't see getting him where he's
been going, which you know in most recent drafts have
been at the end of the second round in some,
(41:45):
you know, beginning of third. To me, that's way too early.
At this point we were set for me. I probably
couldn't grab him into the middle of the fourth and beyond.
All right, So let's play a little game here, you
play a little games. I love games, Uh, Jim, do
we have to drink? If we're wrong? You can drink.
You want to drink at nine am? You go right ahead? Alright?
(42:07):
When that guy can't tell So it's gonna get upset,
but we'll play a little game. Now, you're not Jim Day,
You're not drinking. Trying to diversify here, wepon league, you
know money league, t Y Hilton, you do you receiver,
You're meetings in t Y Hilton and Brandon Cooks. I'm
going Cooks. He's just safer at this point, I'm going
(42:30):
Diggs Woods. Uh. In that case, I'm going Hilton. I
am a little worried about Woods this year with Cooper
Cup coming back. Okay, I just want an idea of
how full you you're You're doing what you said you
put him in the next year. That's what I happened to.
I think most of us are doing that. It's just
it's you can't tell me. Yeah, you can't drop him
at all that it's it's luck. Okay, yeah, you have to.
(42:56):
All right, So you mentioned the tight end you mentioned Ibran,
Let's talk about them next. We already got your pretty
good opinion there. Um. Now, you mentioned when Brissette last started,
Doyle was a monster, and he was. You know, it
makes sense young quarterback throwing into the tight end over
the middle of the big target close to the line
screen when it makes a lot of sense here, But
Ebron wasn't there? Then what are you doing now? As
(43:16):
far I mean is Ebron is now not a tight
end one for me? He's a top top tight end two.
Doyle does move up a little bit, but they pretty
much now guessing game. But these two guys, do you
want either one of the tight end one? I mean
they just tight end two is late for you to
grab and see what happens here? How where do you
have Ibron? And where do you have now? Um? I
(43:37):
had Ibraron before this news at nine? Uh now I'm
probably gonna push him back to thirteen and fourteen. Look,
last year he had a great season, no doubt, but
a lot of that was his chemistry with Luck and
Luck using him in the red zone. We're just not
sure if Brissette's going to have that same kind of
report with him, and that's a big part of Ebron's score.
(43:59):
He needs get into the end zone. He needs to
be that red zone threat, and we're just not I'm
not sold that this is gonna carry right over to
Brissette because it worked with Luck, So that scares me.
For me, I much rather have Doyle because he is
the PPR guy you're looking at a quarterback. Now, who's
gonna his aid. Doubt is gonna come a lot closer
(44:20):
to the line of scrimmage than Lux did. There's no
doubt Luck went down to field a lot more often
than Brissette is going to do. So Brissette is going
to keep that ball pretty much around the line of
scrimmage for the most part, and that plays into Doyle's hands.
And in the PPR league, Doyle is absolutely the tight
end of these two I want. In the standard league,
I still go with Ibron, and he would move up
(44:40):
for me because he is still a red zone threat hopefully.
I just don't know if we have that chemistry here
yet or if they're gonna get that many opportunities with
Brissette under center. So for me, I'd much rather the
pp I guy, the PPR guy, the guy that's gonna
get five six catches a game. You know, even if
it's only fifty sixty yards, you're still looking at double
(45:01):
digit points. Okay, okay, like I can buy that. By
the way, if anybody out there listening you have questions, uh,
I don't know if we'll take phone calls. We generally don't,
but you can hit Jim up. But at Fantasy Taz.
I'm at George Kurtz, and we'll certainly answer your questions there.
We'll talk about them on air. I'm curious to what
people are thinking out there. Uh as far as they
got screwed, they're mad about Andrew Luck, They're ticked off
(45:23):
about Andrew Luck. Uh, one thing that we are, Jim
replied back to we'll get too legs. I do want
to talk about it about my conspiracy theory as far
as who leaked the Angrew Luck story, But I'm gonna
tell about the players impacted first, as far as the
fantasy owners. Because a lot of drafts happening today tonight.
I know Cam, Cam Stewarts and a big money lead
with Gabe. I think you're on it. That's right. You
know Jim days in it. Uh tonight, Uh six thirty.
(45:46):
I believe Jim, what draft is this you're talking about?
But Gabe and Cam they told me you were in it.
They told you Jim had no idea what I'm talking about.
Fancy Taz is in it. That gave invited you and
it was I think there's two Undrell money league off hand.
I did. I noticed he sets uthing on Twitter and
(46:07):
I asked him about it, but I never saw a
response from him. But that's not unusual for me these
days because my my Twitter timeline is so freaking nuts
right now that I could have easily missed it. But
I definitely never said yes to anything. So I mean,
you might have a draft to night at six star, Jim,
So well, that's kind of that's gonna be interesting because
(46:27):
I do have a draft at five o'clock. Uh, we'll
see what happened. Uh. Actually, for the sounds of can though,
I don't think they wanted you. They didn't really want
any sharks in it. As they put I think they're
it's it's a money league. They want to when I
want to, when I want to win it themselves. I
think came up. Well, then they probably don't want me
in him, right that that's why I think. I don't
(46:48):
think came I'm surprised they'll let you in it. No,
I'm not in it. Um, I'm not really free tonight.
I had stuff I want to do with the family.
But I told you, you know, if he wants a partner,
I could uh probably make enough free time to help
him out. But we'll see. I'll talk to Cam during
the night show flame out. Well, please let me know
if you hear of anything, I'll definitely let you know.
(47:10):
And maybe maybe Gabe, Maybe Gabe told the games the commission.
Maybe be Gabe told Cam one thing and Cam, uh,
you know whatever, right hand, left hand didn't get stuff right.
But that's amusing. Listen last night, I'll tell a little
fund of the story. Last night, my home league, we
didn't own a not show up. I in, We texted him,
we called him, he just didn't show. And it's a
good thing. That's a home leads. A friend of him,
(47:31):
one of my best friends. I don't know, And I
actually said that a text this morning. Please let me
know you're alive. It's not don't get me wrong. This
guy does go off the grade from from time with time.
He's one of those people. But he only lives lives
five minutes away from the draft was happening. So it
was strange. And let me ask you, in this case,
I own it doesn't show up to a draft. There's
nothing in the constitution about this. Uh, we know he
(47:51):
wants to be in the league. There's no one to
replace him. At that point, what do you do? Uh? Yeah,
that's a that's a tough one. Um, it's not a
normal snake. Yeah, and that's right. And this is these
are the things that people don't realize. You have to
be in your league rules when you build it. Uh,
(48:12):
there has to be. But you know a lot of
times it's stuff that you don't anticipate happening until it happens.
And that's where like you're in this situation now, if
you don't have anybody there. Um, normally, what I would
do is I would then have to form a consensus
with the other owners on which side they like the
(48:34):
rankings the most of and just say, okay, we're gonna
use those rankings to draft his team. Yeah, what we did. Um,
it's funny. Uh my my home league. That happened Thursday night.
He's in that league as well, and that leae. We
knew he couldn't make it. He sent me a draft list,
and the parameters of both leagues are almost they're pretty close.
(48:56):
You know that the dividences are in my home league,
you keep three players in that league, goal to keep two,
so obviously kept different players from the league's. So luckily
we already had his draft list. You know, I knew
what he wanted to do, made a couple of changes
depending up because of the keepers, and we went from there,
so that that really wasn't a problem. Wondering how you
would handle it in other leagues where people don't have
I guess this because we were lucky that you know,
(49:19):
that we had something in place then. But I said, well,
then you were the only guys getting lucky last night. Yeah,
I ain't that the truth. That's terrible. By the way,
get it, folks, luck key luck get it. Ha ha
uh Jim over here all week. Don't forget to tip
your waters and wags. Just uh so, yeah, I mean
(49:40):
that's the first I mean, no show, we texted, we called,
no answer. I mean he could be dead in a
ditch for all I know. So, yeah, it's it's one
of those things, like I said, never never thought of
putting in the constitution. But you're right. I think the
way you said it is correct. You got to have consensus,
you know, use your ESPN draft frankings, and that's what
you'll come by, you know, top best player of bail
avail each time and you go from there. So there
(50:02):
you go. If anybody ever needs that again. And I
have not heard from him as of yet. I did
just get a text from Chris Mitchell, also the podcast
Guy Little Experts, Uh about Luck. I guess he's listening
in on us. In his opinion, he thinks Luck will
be back in two thousand one. You know, he'll be
off a year and then he'll come back in twenty one. Yeah. Well,
at this point that it's all opinions and you know
(50:23):
we all got him and all that good stuff. Yeah. Yeah,
one little baseball and the note I just see here.
It's kind of big news here. Josie Ramirez and Cleveland
Indians is out with a fractured hand. That's uh, that's
first round pick. That's bye bye. Oh man really kills
all my fantasy teams. This is why nobody likes you. Okay, Baseball,
(50:47):
it does exist. Ye. Look, if you were a lifetime
Mets fan and over the last ten years, every every
once in a while, like give me just enough to
dangle the big fruit in front of you, and and
just when you're ready to bite that fruit thing Yanke
get out of your mouth again. Uh, you'd be the same.
You're probably right, I might be a little Listen. I'm
(51:09):
a Yankee fan, and I'm I'm an older Yankee fan.
But if you're a Yankee fan and this goes to
the Patriots too, by the way, if you're a Patriots
or a Yankee fan that's thirty or younger, you don't
know what losing is. You have no idea what losing is.
Your your tea's been winning forever. Yes, the Yankees may
not have the well the same World series of the
Patriots do, but they never they haven't had a losing
(51:29):
season and I don't know, twenty five years something silly
like that's a joke. So you guys have no idea,
but no idea what losing uh is? Like they're all right,
what coming up against the break again? But I want
to do at Maula mac uh Jim pretty much saying
question that we even talking about t Why Hilton every Gabron, Uh, Mullen,
mack well somebody, it's more after the break as well?
Where what are you doing with him? Do you still
(51:49):
want them? Are you avoiding him now because these value
not change? Do you think it gets better now? Because
I have to run the ball Morella? Man? What are
you doing? Mac oh? I thought we were going to commercial?
Sorry I am I think Okay, I am not. I
am not buying Mac right now. I'm just not I
(52:11):
might buy Naiheim, heines, I think he gets a little
bit more involved again with the passing game. You know,
most of Max fantasy points last year came in games
where Indianapolis was leading by at least fourteen points um
and in other games when they weren't, he was only
averaging nine fantasy points a game. Now, they have said
(52:33):
they're gonna get him a little more involved in the
passing game this year, and if they do, then this
might all change. I'm just I'm not buying into it.
I mean, they may get him a little bit more
involved in the passing game, but there's no way that
they're gonna leave Naheim, heins out. I mean, this is
his kids as fast as his devil, and you know
he can move well, he catches the ball well. He
(52:53):
did everything they needed him to do last year as
a rookie. I don't see him them shutting him out
this year. I actually like him as a really good
strong draft value as well. Interesting, I'm gonna get more
at the hinon Mac uh answer the break here? Uh
for me? As and I kind of agree with you,
and I dropped them a little bit as well. I
have to bind the fact to get a run the
(53:14):
bowl more. I think he is uh. I think I
think he gets hurt and I love the offensive line
and stuff like that. But I think it's getting crazy
not to drop a little bit. But we'll talk more
about Mac, more about Hines, some more about the Indianatoscope
before we move on. Joined the Expert Year every Day

(53:38):
I'm Frank Thomas, the Big Hurt. After I left baseball,
I just couldn't stay in shape like I used to.
It turns out once you hit forty, your body has
less free testosterone and that can make it harder to
get into shape. So I got back into the game
with new genics. I'm feeling stronger with a lot more
energy and drive. Do you want to get back into shape.
