Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jeremiah, chapter six, verse fifteen. Were they ashamed because of
the abomination they have done? They were not even ashamed
at all. They did not even know how to blush.
Let's pray. Lord, Your word tells us that you are holy, Holy, Holy.
(00:20):
You are the God who is too pure to look
upon sin. Lord, help us to be sensitive to the
sin in our own lives, to the sin around us,
and give us a passion for you that would far
exceed our passion for anything else. For we pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
What if Joseph hadn't warned Pharaoh to prepare for seven
years of famine? The Book of Genesis tells us that
Egypt and Joseph's own family survived because Joseph knew how
to prepare for emergencies. Hi, I'm Matt Potter, co founder
of Prayer. Being prepared is as wise today as it
was in Joseph's time. That's why I urge you to
(01:06):
order a medical emergency kit from the Wellness Company. This
is not, I repeat, this is not a first aid kit.
It's a prescription medical emergency kit, and it's like having
an urgent care in your own home. It comes with
doctor prescribed meds to treat over thirty nine health issues,
infections of all types, strep, throat pneumonia, UTIs, bronchitis, and more,
(01:31):
no trip to the doctor, hospital or pharmacy. Every home
should have at least one medical emergency kit. Order online
in minutes and your kit will be rushed to your door.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Welcome to this episode of the Weekly Wisdom Podcast. I'm
pastor Jeff Shreeve of Texarkana, Texas. Now you may have
noticed how the moral climate of our society has shifted
so drastically in the last few years. More and more
people are living in open sin, and they don't think
a thing about it. In fact, so many of them
(02:19):
are proud of it. They say, well, what's the big
deal about having sex before you're married, or cheating on
your spouse, or stealing from your neighbor or lying to
get ahead at work, or having an abortion, or bailing
out on your family or breaking any or all of
the ten commandments? Hey, who are you to tell me
that what I'm doing is wrong. Well, the Bible says,
(02:42):
this is the way of an adulterous woman. She eats
and wipes her mouth and says, I have done no
wrong Proverbs thirty, verse twenty. Now the adulterous woman is
like the growing number of people in our world today,
A people who say I have done no wrong, A
people who have forgotten how to blush. Now, one of
(03:03):
the marks of a hardened heart is the inability to
feel shame and conviction from the Holy Spirit. If you
can send big time and not feel the sting of
the Lord's displeasure, something is very wrong inside of you. Now.
Peter was one who boasted and bragged that he was
(03:24):
ready to go with the Lord to prison and even
to death. Remember he said that at the Last Supper,
he said, all the other disciples may deny Christ, but
he would never deny him. Now you know the story.
He did deny him, now once, not twice, but three
times in a row. And after the third denial, he
(03:44):
punctuated his denial with cursing and swearing to prove that
he didn't know Jesus. And the Bible says the Lord
turned and looked at Peter and Peter went out and
wept bitterly. Peter could still feel the shame. Peter had
failed so miserably, but praise God, he didn't blow it
(04:07):
off as no big deal. He still knew how to blush,
to feel shame and the conviction from the Holy Spirit. Now,
does God want us to live in shame? Absolutely not.
But he wants us to feel the shame so that
we can come out of the deception of our sins,
so that we can get right with him. Now, if
(04:28):
we follow the example of the adulterous woman in Proverbs
chapter thirty, verse twenty, and say I'm not guilty, I
have done no wrong, when clearly we are guilty and
we have done wrong, we don't erase the guilt. We
just lie to ourselves. After passing the sentence of death
on the faultless Jesus of Nazareth, Pilot said, I am
(04:51):
innocent of the blood of this just man. Hey, but
we all know that he wasn't innocent. He sent an
innocence man to his death. Oceans of water could not
remove the guilt on Pilot's hands, yet he felt no shame.
Here's the truth about shame. Until you feel the shame
(05:12):
of your sin. Until breaking God's law breaks your heart,
you will never be able to get right with him.
But when you soften your heart and allow God's truth
to permeate and convict, you can rightly deal with the
sin that has become a part of your life. Hey,
Peter went out and wept bitterly over denying his Lord
(05:34):
three times. He thought there was no way for him
to ever be restored. But he was wrong. His shame
and conviction before God opened the door for the Lord's
grace and forgiveness and restoration. And the same can be
true for you. Hey, do you know how to blush?
You know how to feel ashamed of yourself when you
(05:56):
blatantly sin against the God of heaven. If so, thank
the Lord for it. It shows that your heart is
still sensitive to him. Get your sins out of the closet,
out of the darkness, and under his blood. Humbly confess
to the Lord and claim his complete and total forgiveness.
Begin to walk in his ways. Make the decision to
(06:18):
quit compromising with sin. You'll be so glad that you did.
Let's pray together, Father in heaven. You know that we
live in a sin saturated society. Anything goes in our
world today, So Lord, help us to see sin as
you do, take away the hardness that so easily gets
(06:39):
into our hearts, and bring a time of refreshing from
your spirit. Lord Jesus, we need you desperately help us
to be the people that you want us to be.
People who love you, people who fear you, and people
who turn away from evil. For we pray in Jesus' name. Amen. Well,
