Speaker 1 (00:00):
Romans Chapter eight, verse one. There is therefore now no
condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk
not after the flesh, but after the spirit. Let's pray together,
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for Romans eight verse one.
Thank you that there is therefore now no condemnation for
(00:21):
those who are in Christ Jesus. Lord, we thank you
that the moment we put our faith and trust in
Jesus and Jesus alone for salvation, our sins are washed away,
and our slate is wiped clean, with nothing ever to
go on there again. And Lord, there is not a
speck of condemnation, because you took all our condemnation when
(00:43):
you died on the cross and said it is finished,
paid in full. So Lord, help us as we deal
with guilt, as we deal with the condemnation of the devil.
Help us to go back to your word and stand
firm in it in Jesus' name. Hi, friends, welcome to
(01:03):
this episode of the Weekly Wisdom podcast from Prey dot Com.
I'm Pastor Jeff Shree from Texarkanada, Texas, and this week
I want to talk to you about overcoming the voice
of condemnation. The Bible tells us that Satan is an
accuser of the brethren. In Revelation chapter twelve, verse ten,
it says that he accuses us before God day and night.
(01:27):
In fact, the word devil diablos in the Greek literally
means false accuser. So what does the false accuser accuse
us of? Well, he knows our faults and failures. He
knows about our sins, our transgressions, and our iniquities. And
he reminds us over and over how terrible we are,
and how much of a hypocrite we are, and how
(01:49):
we discussed God, and how God is through with us,
and how He will no longer forgive us, etc. Etc.
Et cetera. But remember Jesus said that the devil is
a liar and the father of lies. Now we dare
not believe the lies of the devil. We must fill
our minds with the truth of God's word. Jesus said
(02:10):
that the truth would set us free. So what is
the truth concerning the sins in your life and the
sins in my life? The truth is those sins, as
terrible as they are, as terrible as they were, They've
been nailed to the cross of Jesus Christ Romans, Chapter eight,
Verse one tells us that there is no condemnation for
(02:34):
those who are in Christ Jesus. All the condemnation for
our sins was placed upon Jesus, and he said it
is finished paid in full. Now years Agod ran across
a story about Martin Luther, the Great Reformer of the
fifteen hundreds. Luther, the leader of the Protestant Reformation, had
(02:54):
a dream, or rather a nightmare. He awakened in the
middle of the night, and standing at the foot of
his bed was a figure he believed to be the
Devil himself. And the devil had a scroll, and on
that scroll were listed the sins that Martin Luther had committed,
and the devil was reading them off, one by one,
(03:15):
all accurate in account. He was pointing a fiery, bony
finger in the face of Martin Luther. The devil then
proceeded to condemn and accuse Martin Luther, saying, what hope
of Heaven do you have as such a miserable sinner?
At that very moment, Martin Luther felt his soul slipping
closer and closer to Hell. But then the Lord spoke
(03:38):
to Martin Luther and said, Martin tell the devil to
unroll the scroll all the way down, and the devil refused. Yet,
as Martin Luther proclaimed the name of Jesus. In the
name of Jesus, devil, you unroll the scroll. The devil
reluctantly proceeded. And at the bottom of the scroll, underneath
(03:59):
the list of all the sins Martin Luther had ever committed,
were the words stained into the scroll. The entire sin
account of Martin Luther has been paid in full by
the blood of Jesus Christ. Hey, if you've turned from
sin and put your faith and trust in Jesus, the
(04:20):
same is true for you, paid in full by the
blood of Jesus Christ. There is no condemnation for those
who are in Christ Jesus. That is the truth. So
don't believe the devil's lies for another minute. We have
freedom from guilt and shame in the Lord Jesus, so
walk in the light with Him today and enjoy the
greatness of salvation. Let's pray, Dear God, thank you that
(04:44):
my sins are forgiven in Jesus. Thank you that I
don't have to live another minute drowning in guilt and
shame and condemnation. Thank You for the cross. Lord Jesus,
thank you for shedding your blood for me, the blood
that washes my heart clean and free of all sin
and puts me in right standing with you. I am
(05:05):
