Speaker 1 (00:01):
All right, welcome in all you traders and faithfuls too,
by order of the faithful. So I'm wells Adams that
I'm alongside.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
And Dolores Cotana.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
We are finally at the end of this season. It's
getting really really juiced. Good season is like looking back,
I'm like, God, no wonder the show did what it did,
because every episode is just more stressful and intense and
just amazing TV than the last. And yeah, no wonder

(00:31):
the show has now just taken on this huge.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
You know, it's.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
A part of the zeitgeist of reality TV in such
a short period of time. This is such a fun
couple of episodes because we kind of finally they finally
kind of hone in on Faedra, who has played coy
for so long with everyone there, you know, Faedra finally

(00:56):
she needs someone to join her in the turret because
everyone's getting picked off. She asked Kate to join her
as a trader. Kate accepts. Do you guys think that
that was a smart move?

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I do. I think it was a great move.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
I do too, because I think most people would think
Kate coming in, they wouldn't instantly put her as a trader.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Because it's the least person that wanted to play the
game at all, and most people that become traders are
like so into it, Like Carolyn on my show used
to sleep with a cloak on and go food shopping
with a cloak on like these are. She's not a gamer.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
Of course she did.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
She wanted you know, Kate wanted no part of this.
She had to be threatened by death to even take
the job.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
So yeah, yeah, I think that the only way you
make Kate a trader is in this way, because I
would assume for producers they really only want people to
be traders who want to be traders. And I don't
even like, like you said, I'm not even sure if
Kate wants to be on this show, let alone a trader.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
But I am glad.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
I'm one think TV is better when she's on it
more often, and this definitely injects a lot more Kate
into the show. I just don't know if it's a
smart move for Faedra.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Well, Kate did change coming back. Remember last season. The
first season she was on, she was just like, I
don't want to be here, dad, Like at least she
acted like she wanted to be there. Yeah, you know,
so she wasn't. I guess it almost felt like her
first season. She's almost kind of like the stick of
I don't want to be here, Nah, send.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Me home, get pissing people off.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Yeah, And and she comes back and now she's a
trader with.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Well she's a little more into it, but still she
has the stigma of not wanting it. Mm hmm, like
she's not a gamer. We're not going to look at
her on the best of days, even after we find
out she's a trader and say that she wanted that.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
I mean, it's a it's kind of a genius argument
to have at the roundtable of like, I'm not a trader,
I don't.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Even want to be here. What do you talk?

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Right?

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Right?

Speaker 1 (03:00):
I would be like, that's a good argument. I can't
really fight that. I wonder if you know, the decision
between Trichelle and Kevin to be murdered that night. I
wonder if the Traders ended up watching it back and
kicking themselves and not getting rid of Trischelle, who was
someone who was really really.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
I didn't understand that decision.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Well, Torischelle, she's a great player. Because this was the
first time in the turn her name was ever even mentioned.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Right, she was coming at Faeda hard though, but.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
She was coming at Fedria hard. And by now the
most important thing I think for the traders was to
be to get out the people that were coming for them,
even if it looked suspicious. So if they chose Kevin
because it wouldn't look suspicious, they didn't have the time
to do that. They had to get rid of like
the real players, and Kevin wasn't a real player. They

(03:51):
might have won. I think Fadri could have very much
won if she got rid of Trochelle that night.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Yeah, but Trichelle was going after Fada, so it would
have put it would have still kept the the spotlight
on her, maybe a little bit, I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
But then she could have said the spotlights on me?
Why would I do that? She could have used that
as an excuse, which has done so many times, like
why would I be that stupid to get rid of
the person who's coming for me? That should really show
you I'm not a trader.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
Yeah, but Trichelle, if I remember correctly, she had a shield,
so even if she got rid of she was still there.
She kept it.

Speaker 5 (04:28):
She kept it a secret, that's right.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
So they didn't have a choice.

Speaker 5 (04:32):
Yeah, but she kept a secret, so nobody knew that
she had.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Why did they keep MJ. Why wasn't she brought up
that night?

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Well because I feel like MJ was still defending Phedra
and that's why they didn't want to get rid of her.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Got it.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
That was my take on it.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Well, one thing that I thought was interesting about the
breakfast the next day is MJ asking if Kate's okay, Like.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Why isn't that unbelievable?

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Usually are, which is code for you don't look as good,
which is code for you didn't sleep last night, which
is code for trader.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
You look like you don't seem like the light, like
the light has been taken out of it. And like
I could imagine what Kate was feeling because she wasn't
there three minutes before somebody's calling her out for looking different.
That was a good call on MJ's part, a really
good call.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Well, I remember talking about it early before I was
even gone. It's like, look at the people that look
extra tired, look at the girls that you know don't
have like.

Speaker 5 (05:32):
The makeup on the way they used to, and but
you look at Phaedra. Padra had like I mean, she
look like a professional glam. She did herself every single day.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
You know, there's no rhyme or reason really to go
with because, like I said, and you know, when it
came down to us, you had you know, Chanel, I
am laying underneath the table sleeping, and she was literally
the length of the breakfast table. But she like I
could put my feet on her as a foot rast
and she was like exhausted.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
So oddly, I can't remember anything about your season. I
watched the whole thing and recapt it. I can't remember
anything good.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Then it'll be a nice surprise to you. And now
we're done with this. I love that.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
I was just telling Kad and I go, but I
don't think I watched season three. He goes, you recapt it,
so my memory.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Is so great.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Welcome to your fifty. So much fun here in this club.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
So you know, Fhadra's whole kind of plan is to
break up the Peter pals. Trichelle knows that they're outnumbered.
Peter thinks that he needs to convince either Sandra or
CT or both of them to win. I'm kind of
surprised that CT is so gung ho at Peter because

(06:52):
it I mean, obviously we don't see everything, but it
seemed like Peter was the most faithful of the faithfuls.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
So you don't think CT was smart till Peter he
was leaning towards him, or it was too risky.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Oh, so I didn't think about it that way. You
think that was that was gameplay?

Speaker 5 (07:07):
I don't know. I would imagine.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
I would imagine that CT probably knew that Phaedra was
a trader, and and him going at Peter might have
been a way to be like, I.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Want to stick around as long as I possibly can.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Right, So, yeah, you refresh my memory for one second.
Was CT good at picking traders?

Speaker 1 (07:29):
I think?

Speaker 3 (07:30):
So?

Speaker 5 (07:30):
I have no memory?

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Yeah, what show is this?

Speaker 2 (07:35):
I mean, it's not like we didn't recap the whole show,
but I know, I know anyway, CT's something. It's funny
when when Fadra dubbed him the repo guy.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
Yeah, I love that.

Speaker 5 (07:49):
Give hern me.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
Let's talk about this mission. You know, they have to
shoot these arrows at these stained glass whatever, and whoever
is left over at the end gets a shield and
kind of a big thing happens that I bet at
the time Faedra didn't think was a big thing. But
the movement over from trying to go for I guess

(08:13):
CT and then down to Trichelle that was what Faeder
wanted to do and went away from the plan, and
all of a sudden, that was Trischelle being like, you're
a trader because you're trying to get me killed exactly.
So if she was going to do that, why didn't
she just murder her? But here's the thing, I think
she was wrong about that. I don't know if Fadria

(08:34):
really had a game plan on it, but it didn't
matter because she was right in bringing it up the
roundtable of like you did this, CT felt the same way.
It was a CT's kind of idea, and yeah it was.
It was interesting because it was a thing that I
think was a downfall of fadraa that I don't know
if she even.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
I don't even know that she even noticed she had
done it.

Speaker 5 (08:57):
Yeah, I don't think she did.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
He thinks he's up for banishment. He separates Phajor from
the group, while Forschelle convinces you know, the entire click
to vote for. I think the one thing that Peter
does poorly is he's always kind of pulling people aside
and scheming and stuff, and I think I think that
it looks suspicious.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Well, it alienates people. No one likes to be alienated.
So whether or not that he people would have thought
he was a trader. I wouldn't have liked that about him,
and I love him.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
It would make you think he was a trader.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
It would make me think he was a trader, and
it would make me feel left out, yeah, son, and
I'd be pissed off, and then I would want to
get rid of him just for making me feel left out.
Get my point. There's more than one reason for people
to want to vote you out other than being a trader,
Like people just not liking you. Yeah, you getting on
people's nerves, being annoying, chewing loud.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Yeah, speaking of people being annoying, this is kind of
confirmed when we had to show on the show. But
at the roundtable, John calls out Phedra immediately in this
like long winded, you know, soliloquy.

Speaker 5 (10:08):
Because you have no idea.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Yeah, so Tama, I want to ask you, did we
have not see idea?

Speaker 2 (10:13):
No?

Speaker 5 (10:13):
You did not see it all.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
I mean we're like, literally bullet points, please, bullet points.
He would go on for so long, like we had
to film so much longer because he would not shut up.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
Yeh.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
And he goes into great to detail.

Speaker 5 (10:30):
You know, and half of the stuff you don't even understand
what he's saying.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Yeah, they're very wordy.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
He's very wordy, but he has like amazing clips. Like
as an editor, I'm sure they were like.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
Oh yeah, much to pull from.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
That's the whole thing. When you're in post, I'm sure
that they're like, this is great, but not for you
sitting there, Tamra.

Speaker 5 (10:51):
We're just like, please stop it, stop talking.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
John.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
I'm surprised he made as long as he did.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Yeah, this this roundtable was the most frustrating for me
because it seems so very obvious that Fader is a
trader and that Peter isn't, at least to me. But
that's also you know, hindsight twenty twenty, and I know
what's really happening because I can see who's in the tourret.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
But unfortunately, you.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
Know it, it gets it's a it's a stalemate, right.
Four votes for Peter, four votes for Faedra comes down
to MJ. You surprised at MJ ended up voting for
pilot Pete over Fader.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
I wasn't surprised, yeah, to her loyalties to Phaja.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
So here's one thing I wanted to talk to you
guys about because I think it's very interesting. As a producer,
you notice that they never start with the same person
who's voting. So this is some behind the scenes stuff.
There are cameras that are seeing all everything that we're writing,
right right.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
So then they go.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
I'm sure they've got a whiteboard back there in the
control room and they say, Okay, they're voting for so
and so. They're voting for so and so. They're voting
for so and so, so we need to have them
start so the last vote matters.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Oh my god, well you're not. But you're a smarty pant.

Speaker 5 (12:11):
Yeah, you never really thought about that. Absolutely.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
There is like a bazillion cameras everywhere in the round table.
Like you said, yeah, they see your every move.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
Well, I mean this is it happened to me. The
last person to vote. It was a tie vote for me,
and the last person to vote was Carolyn, who was
a trader who voted for me. And that was when
I saw that. I was like, oh, it comes down to.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Person.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Yeah, Anyways, that's just a little some insider baseball.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
I thought it was kind of interesting to talk about.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Oh I just got chills. Yeah, that was good.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
Okay, on to the next episode. Uh, you know, we
find out that MJ votes for Peter, he's banished. Peter
reveals he's obviously a faithful Trichelle and John and CT
seemed so not mad disappointed with everyone for making such
a bad mistake.

Speaker 5 (13:15):
Stupid yeah, because they know, well.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
There's not a lot of time left right to find
these traders at all, so it's down to the wire now.
It was funny when when Pete left, he at the roundtable,
he said, if you don't get a trader tonight and
you vote for me, they're going to win.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
I believed him when he said that, by the way, and.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
I believe he believed that too, Like I think that
that was he was speaking his truth, not trying to
be like save me. It was like, listen, if you
guys don't do this, it's going to be over for you.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
It almost was almost.

Speaker 5 (13:49):
Yeah, and the CT knows he thinks two brother girls
are traders. Yeah, and they are.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
He's smart. He's a smart repo man.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
He is he is.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
So uh breakfast. The next day we find out John
was murdered. I assume John was murdered just because people
were just annoyed with him at this point.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
I think so I do. I mean, he was just.

Speaker 5 (14:13):
Such a nothing burger on the show the entire time.
He really was.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
He just like was goofy and said his long winded
stuff and he was no threat to anybody.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Yeah, well then why murder him?

Speaker 5 (14:25):
Well it's getting down to the end.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Yeah, so you see there's why because who do you
think she should have been murdered? Probably am j Oh,
she's my friend.

Speaker 5 (14:34):
Yeah, but there's no friends in this game.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
If they know who's been on their side and who
isn't you have to get right now.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
That's what it comes down to. So since Mjay was
actually protecting Phaedrus, she's staying. So anybody protecting the traders
isn't going anywhere.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
Uh the mission is fun. I uh like, this is
one that I wish I got to do. It looks
like it's it's almost like like America Ninja Warrior. Have
the run across these floating you know, boois and get
the gold over there.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
It was hard.

Speaker 5 (15:10):
It looked really difficult.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
It did look and it looked cold and gross, and
when Phedro went in, she looked very angry, which I
don't blame her for, but also like I liked. I
liked missions like that because you end up having people
like underdogs who you were like, end up rooting for.

Speaker 5 (15:27):
Right, So you like digging to the dirt trying to
find shields.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
Yeah, getting wet.

Speaker 5 (15:32):
No, it doesn't sound fun to me because it's so
cold there.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
That's true.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
It was so cold, and all the skinny girls had short,
short things on all the time, hardly wearing any clothes.
I honestly couldn't wait for every one of them to
leave because I wasn't walking around like.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
That was that was Echen Sue on our show Beautiful Girl.
She'd be like crop tops and like mini skirts. I'm like,
it's twenty five degrees outside, where are you going?

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Yeah, it was free in that castle, and it was
unseasonably wet and cold when we were there.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
I don't remember. I wasn't there for very long.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Science anyway, And moving.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
On, speaking of the cast that we go back to it.
You know, one thing that I found interesting from this
season compared to our season is they really gave the
cast some some room to breathe when they came home
from missions before round tables, to be able to talk
and scheme and pull people away. There seems like there

(16:32):
was a lot of time after missions before round tables,
whereas I felt like and doors, I could be wrong,
So I wasn't there for very long, but I felt
like it was when missions ended. There wasn't a whole
lot of time to be able to like talk to
people before.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
No, that's true, there wasn't.

Speaker 5 (16:47):
There was my season too.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
It was more about especially because you know what people
don't know, like because we filmed one episode in one day.
After your mission, you have to go back, and if
it's a dirty one, got.

Speaker 5 (16:58):
To go back, take all those clothes off, clean yourself.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Up, and they're ready to go around him.

Speaker 5 (17:02):
Put the clothes on that you were wearing before you
went on the mission.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
Yeah, I think there was more time in the morning, Yes, before.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
The mission, you mean breakfast time, and.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
Breakfast time shortly after breakfast is when you all get
in your huddles and then whatever, Like the general consensus
is kind of follows through the day. It's very rare
that a little change, especially if there's no time to
make a change, or if something doesn't happen and somebody doesn't.
A lot of the times, really the traders never really

(17:35):
actually show their hand. There's still a guessing game at
that roundtable. We have yet to seen a trader really
screw up.

Speaker 5 (17:43):
I feel like, oh Dan didn't do that great of
a job.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Well, he just sucked in the end, but I think
he thought he was better than he was at the
game and that's what made hurt.

Speaker 5 (17:54):
Well after the challenge, you know who thinks is a trader? Sandra?
She thinks Page is a trader.

Speaker 4 (17:59):
She's finally everyone is like, okay, yeah, she we need
to get her out.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Well, she almost went out the night before. Like if
the person that doesn't almost leave the night before, usually
at the next roundtable they're out.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
There wasn't a whole lot of argument from her. I
think one she was exhausted to she knew like she
got got right.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
Like so at some point you got to be like,
all right, how.

Speaker 5 (18:24):
Hard do you think it was for Fader to lie?

Speaker 4 (18:26):
Yeah, race Base when she asked her are you a trader?
And she had to lie and say no, I mean,
could there be a point it might be against the
rules just to say like.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
Like, yes, but I'm going to take you with me
all the way to the head.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
It is against the rules. I read the rules.

Speaker 5 (18:45):
Yeah, so she had she had no other choice but
to lie.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
I want someone to do that though, So yes, at
some point to be like no, I'm not I'm not
a trader and the like when.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
But you can't win with a trader, faithful can't win
with a trader.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Yeah, but then you just wait, Okay, so what if
you did this? So, yes, so a trader tells a
faithful that they are a trader not to tell on them,
They wait until they have to recruit, and then they
go get that person.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
Yes, exactly.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
Yeah, but you don't know if you're going to be
the one to be able to recruit.

Speaker 4 (19:24):
You don't put on how tight you are with that
person too. Do you think that Chara should have trusted
her gut? She thought Phaedra was a trader, but she's
also her friend, so.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
She's It's tough because you don't want to believe it's
a game still, but you don't want to believe bad
things about your friends, right, and so that's ever Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
Like I mean you know, my rule of thumb is
if my friend says they didn't do it, they didn't
do it. Yeah, so it's hard. I wouldn't want the job,
let's put it that way. I don't want to be
a Trader.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
We finally get the vote to get Fader out. It's
basically a landslide. It is a landslide. Even Kate, fellow Trader,
votes for Faedra, and then Kate kind of makes a
decision that I thought was very interesting. The way that
she kind of went at Phaedra. It seemed unnecessary, and

(20:19):
then it also seemed like a put a big target
on her back.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
Yeah, it was weird. I don't understand the reason behind it.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
I don't either.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
We'd have to ask Phaedra.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
It just seems like she was trying to do a
little too much.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
I mean, Sandra is the one who like realizes it
and was like, I gotta come talk to her about this,
Like this doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
I don't know. I thought that that was interesting.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
She hasn't been a trader long enough to know what
to do and what not to do, right, so unfortunately
she's I think she made a bad play there, But yeah,
it's it's almost over. There's only one Trader left, and
I mean, I know what happens. I'm excited to watch
these last two episodes.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Me too. It really the ending is so rough, like
it was like, oh and I bet you. If I
was a betting girl, I'd say I'm j still mad,

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
