Speaker 1 (00:02):
Have you fully recovered? Now, we didn't. We didn't go
anywhere this year. We didn't. We didn't. Uh you know,
Philly was last year. This year we didn't. We didn't
make our way to Vegas. We kept it at home.
But do you still feel like a hangover from WrestleMania weekend?
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Michael, Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah yeah, it's a good
kind of hangover.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
I'm not nauseous. I don't have a headache. I'm I'm
just simply.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
I feel partied out, Like I'm I'm contently partied out.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
I did have the meat sweats at one point, all
the stuff that is like, yeah, I know, we exchanged
those pictures looking at the you had. You had RIBI
is that right?
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Bone in?
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Yeah? Here?
Speaker 2 (00:47):
And and wings and we're gonna we're gonna fly by
the seat of our pants here because why not. And
I'm gonna send you some pictures if you can get
them up, great, If not, no worries at all.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
But I'll tell you what it was.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
It was a fun weekend in the sense of I
got to like fully just dig into my personal passions.
First of all, you had wrestling, yep. Then the food.
Now we talked about the food last week, and I
think that it's important that we revisit that to say
(01:30):
how the food went.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
You can see the brible say I don't have I
don't have mine though, so this isn't really fair.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Well, I'm just saying maybe you should have planned ahead.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
You've just been sharing things with everybody. Hey, look at
my meat and been sending them to me. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
Yeah, And that was the headline too, is hey, check
out my meat.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Did you do any of those? Here's the there you go,
there's the rabbi that's very nice. Look at those?
Speaker 3 (01:56):
Is that is that up?
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Yeah? There it is. And then here's the yeah, oh yeah,
here's the afterwards, the other green beans and the potatoes.
It's tasty, all right. So that's it for this week's podcast.
I'm going to eat. We'll see you all.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Good night.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Almost almost, man, I'm hungry right now. But that, yeah,
that's what goes along with this weekend. And we had
we had some people over and and so I had
about a twelve pound pork putt and uh, and I
do I think I do have one. I do have
one picture. Let's see. I think it's just as a
sandwich that I sent you. And there you go, there's that.
(02:33):
I like that one. It looked tasty.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah, that's what you're gonna send me one of those
in the mail right.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Oh of course it'll look just like that one. Where
do you get it too? So I didn't have a
picture available. So that's what wrestle I have a spoken
with one word about professional wrestling in a good three minutes, yes,
three minutes into the podcast. Yeah, this is all about
WrestleMania food exactly. But that definitely this is what we
(03:01):
got this year. By not, I mean you wouldn't want
to see what we ate last year because it was
it was catered food, which was fine, but it was
also from a stadium. So a stadium catered food last year.
This year I would I will I will take I
will take the food from this year. We went media
wise last year. This year I was noticing. We talked
(03:24):
about it here, the ticket prices and what have you
of WrestleMania forty one, and there was something else. You
guys all know who Green Shirt guy is by if
you're watching this, you know who he is. If you're
listening right now too. He is the guy that's always
in the middle in the front row every single show,
no matter where the show is anywhere in the United States,
same exact seat, every single time, green shirt with a
(03:47):
smiley face on it. This year at WrestleMania, he got
his own entrance before it started and he got to
hang out at the at the timekeeper's table, the where
the ring bell and stuff did all that from uh
from Conrad Thompson. That was was not a gift from
(04:08):
the WWE. That was a paid experience that he paid
for and it was it was in the six figures.
I just want to know, now what this dude does,
That's what I want to know.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Sure, sure, because because that's the thing.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Man, I love wrestling, and I would figure out ways
to pay money, like, but my stuff, like I don't
want that. I don't want to walk down the ramp.
Like if if it naturally happened, that's fine, Like cool,
I'm not.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Gonna somebody saying this is how much it is and
you can do this, yeah, Like no, but.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Like, like the stuff that I would pay for is like, Hey,
you're going to hang out for a whole day with
Triple h at at WWE headquarters. Sign this nda you
get to watch hang out, You'll have lunch with you
like that type of thing.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
I would.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
I would take out alone.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Let me be clear, I would take out a loan
to do something like that just because I don't want
to like, I don't maybe maybe I'm not a mark.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
I don't know, but but uh, you know, I don't
want to do the fan experience thing.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
Like I'm in love with the business, even though I
have no business calling it the business. But I just
like wrestling. So somebody paying six figures to sit front
row and walk down a ramp and touch the bell,
I don't.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
I don't know, maybe, but good for you.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Green shirt guy.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
That's right, I don't. I don't know his smiles or
something like that. Green shirt guy smiles. I think it's
what I don't know. You can find him on on Instagram.
You know, same type of deal. I would be into
something like that. Hey, you get to be his shadow
for WrestleMania. You get to Trip's shadow for WrestleMania. You
just hang out, don't say a word, don't ask questions,
just be there. You're you're invisible. You just hang out.
(05:55):
You know. Some people got to the show and realized
they were told that, heyduction used your seats, and your
seats are no longer available. However, we do have something
for you. And they got to sit on the set.
So I don't know about the lower seats, the one
that looks like they are you know, like at a
nightclub in Las Vegas. Yeah, yeah, yeah, those I believe
(06:16):
they sold the ones above that though, where you saw
the front of the hotel at the very top of
the of the set there, that's where people got relocated to.
So imagine you show up, your seats are gone, but
you get to be a part of the set at
WrestleMania forty one. That might be a good exchange.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
That's cool, and it's always cool to hear stuff like that,
like kind of a like a ww, we didn't.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Have to do that.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Like I'm sure it's convenient for them because like makes
the fans happy. They don't have to worry about it.
It's still a benefit for them. But they could easily
just redistributed them throughout.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
The stage somewhere else. It just said, hey, have a
good show.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
So like when they do do things like that, and
they do that for the fans, I appreciate that because
it's it's it's a big company, but they're at least
whoever's in charge of that area is still like caring
about the fans, you know.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
The I think now that they did at least that
second level, the ones that, like I said, look like
a nightclub. The seats there, you get bottle service or whatever.
I don't think you cannot make that a part of
the set from here on out, though, I think it
needs to be it every single year.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
I think there was something really cool about that because
I sat there and thought about it, like, like, I mean,
I would never be able to afford a ticket like that,
But what you know, is it revenue. I'm assuming it's
big revenue. Assume too, But like, I think there's something
cool about it because you could probably get celebrities in
and out of there a lot easier than you could
the front row, and you know, different stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
So I don't know, just it was. It was a
cool thing.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
You know.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Uh, we've seen a lot of changes recently, you know,
I was joking with you about the ring Matt and stuff.
But of all the changes, the seating on the stage
is pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
That is cool. Did you order your plaque? I know
you didn't go to this one, but did you order?
Speaker 2 (08:03):
No, I will I'm definitely going to it takes it
takes them a minute to get up there. I don't
think they would be up quite yet, but I'm definitely
going to order my plaque.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
The Tops cards, some of those are up there. Nothing
from Night too, though. I noticed only Night one is
up right now for Tops now, so you have to
order them. But maybe it's because you had until the
twenty third. Maybe maybe they're up now now. I think
today is the last day. Yeah, today is the last
day you could order those first batch, and maybe after
the twenty third they'll put out day number two, so
(08:34):
we'll see. But I ordered a couple. I got Jay
Usso with the title and I got Paul Hayman and
seth Rawlins. It was a card, so both of those
have the possibility of scoring an autograph. So just on
the card. My dog just decided to walk in. The
(08:55):
rest of the family is they must have gone, because
he doesn't come in here if they're here. So we
opened the door. Yep, yep, yep, good to see you.
Thanks for thanks for coming in Reggans all right, So
we turned out it's because we don't have a format today.
I was like, we have done so much leading up
(09:17):
to WrestleMania. Let's just talk about our favorites and anything
that may have concerned us or anything like that. Now,
I'll just start with n number one. I think you
and I both agree on this. The Charlotte Tiffy match
way better than we thought it was going to be.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Yep, I.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Will say that if you she may have Tiffany may
have won the title, kept her title, retained the title,
she lost the match. When it comes to how they
looked after the mattress over with, it looked like a
chip tooth and everybody said, yep, chip tooth, and then
she shows backstage it was not. If you zoom in
(09:55):
on some high def pictures, I did see a couple
it looks like the it almost looks like mascara, and
I don't know how that would happen. Was over a
tooth and it looked like I don't know, maybe it
was dried blood from her mouth on as she was bleeding,
but either way, they did a good job. If it was.
If it was some dental work backstage after that match,
(10:16):
but she still had the bruises and the bumps and
the scrapes all over her face even the day afterwards,
so be anxious to see how she looks coming up
on Friday. And do you think they continue this or
is that we've had enough of those two and move on.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
I would think you would move on from it. I
don't know where else there is to go with it,
unless you just want to do a best of three.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Yeah, but I don't know.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
But I was genuinely surprised. I said to somebody it
was either you or somebody else, that I was really
angry at how good the match was because I knew
I was going to have to come on this show.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
And eat a bunch of Crow.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
And and so the match turned out honestly the second
best of the night. They really pulled through. They did
business together. Good for them. It was a good match
and they deserve credit for that. I officially hereby eat Crow.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
You're the only ones saying you need to And I
don't think anyone will remember anything if you didn't. But uh,
if if you want to have some crow, some of
that Ribbi, go for it. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Is that nice gamey taste too?
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Yeah? Sure you needed that in the in that in
that setup there, right. I am anxious to see what
they do and how they proceed with with both Jacob
Fatu and what he does with the US title and
what they're gonna do with l A. Knight? Do you
push l A. Knight move? Is he going for the
world title? Now? Will he? He'd be over there chasing
(11:51):
j they have something else in stores? He going? You know,
he hasn't won the IC title, So does it flip
and go that direction? I feel like we already kind
of have that set up and we can get into
that minute with more than likely a feud here with
Dom and Penta or Ray either one. I loved that.
(12:16):
I kind of lost my train of thought, but I
love that that Jacob got his got his win. There's
he's a future world or undisputed champion. This guy is
on fire and can talk on the mic and he
can take care of it all. High flying big guy
is just crazy and you don't get many of those,
like we talked about last week. Hated that he had
(12:38):
to go up against l. A. Knight for this because
LA Knight has been on a roll. He's I feel
like he's not as high as he was in what
was that like the end of twenty three. Yeah, but
man still still way up there and still very viable.
I don't know if there's things going on backstage that
are holding him back, but I'm anxious to see really
how these two move on. I don't need to see
(13:01):
him chasing the US title again. You feel any different, uh?
Speaker 2 (13:06):
No? I? No, I agree. We don't need to see
him chase in the US title. I think inter Con
would be fine, except that I don't feel like they're
going to take that off a dom.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
For a while.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
No, so I wouldn't want to see him there. I
think the World Heavyweight Championship is where he needs to hang.
I don't This show is pretty much a testament to
my love for La Knight, but I don't see him
positioned at this moment that he could be the company face,
you know, in the WWE tip undisputed title area, but
(13:39):
him being a world champion in the World Heavyweight Championship
space all day long, all day long.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
I can see some banger matches with he and j
as well.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Absolutely, And so I'm hopeful to your point that they
kind of honor what they got with La Knight. But
the match did exactly what it needed to do and
what it was supposed to do. It was the right
decision to put the title on Jacob Fatu. He's super
hot right now. It's the right decision, But we just
(14:10):
don't want La and I to fall by the wayside either.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Lots to talk about. In the main event, of course,
we have Paul Hayman come out with CM Punk. Cempunk
got to headline a main event at WrestleMania Gold achieved.
Nothing else had to happen. Paul Hayman walks out with
him to headline. That was the end of it, at
least for his story. But I mean, I think we
(14:35):
all saw Paul not necessarily leaving with cmpunk. At least
that was the prediction. If it wasn't one of the
guys in the match, it was going to be somebody else.
I predicted to be brock Lessner. That obviously didn't happen,
And but who he did leave with left us all
kind of going, does this make sense? Does it really matter?
If it makes sense, it seems really cool. But to
(14:57):
see how Paul turned on him and get in involved
in the actual action, and you know, hammered to the
yambags on both CM punk and the Tribal Chief, the
original tribal chief. Yeah, doing a little boxing down there,
took care of deciding that match. You can in a
triple threat because there's no disqualification. But did you if
(15:20):
it wasn't going to be somebody returning, did you see
it being Seth Rollins walking out of there with the
Wise Man?
Speaker 2 (15:30):
It was definitely, it was definitely in my cards of options.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
I knew something would happen. I knew it was a possibility.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
I didn't know it was going to land exactly the
way it did, and I don't know that we're going
to talk about Monday Night at all, but clearly we
see a little bit more of where this is heading,
which is very, very very cool. But I didn't necessarily
I wasn't solid on what was going to happen in
that match, but I'm very happy with how it turned
out out. In fact, and I'm going to put this
(16:03):
here for later. I'm not going to jump on this
soapbox right now, but arguably the match that going into
it we questioned whether it had enough story to back
it up ended up telling the most and best story
of the entire weekend.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Yeah, yeah, especially for main events, and we'll get to
that here in a second, but I agree, and that
is what WrestleMania. We've talked about this before. It's always
either typically tying up loose ends and finishing stories are
starting new ones. That one started a new one. No
doubt there was already some story with all three of
those guys, but nothing that would that would equate to
(16:44):
a WrestleMania main event, at least in my mind. But
the way it left left, I mean, a great setup
for even Paul says on Monday Night Raw, this is
this We're starting what we're going to be talking about
out in the main event of wrestle Mania forty two,
and so excited to see what happens over the next year.
(17:06):
All the twist turns we saw that happen with Cody
Rhodes between thirty nine and forty there were so many
obstacles to overcome. How does Paul and Seth add to
this group which Monday we saw braun and we'll talk
about that here in a second, But are there anymore
because we also saw another turn that has a close
(17:26):
tie with one of the members of this group, that
being Becky Lynch. I think we're already kind of jumping
into Monday. Let's put a pause on that and hit
Night number two of WrestleMania by far the best night
of the two, and it's not even close, not even close.
(17:48):
Night number one felt it felt like matches for a
SmackDown that ended up in front of a lot more people.
That's kind of how it felt to me watching it
was like okay, okay, And unfortunately that was the night
that I had people here. It was the night to
watch the bad night of WrestleMania. Unfortunately, not wrestling fans
and got to say They're like, okay, is this over?
(18:10):
Is that over?
Speaker 3 (18:11):
What's this mean?
Speaker 1 (18:11):
And they didn't really get into anything, understandably so because
I wasn't even enthusiastic really about much. And even night too,
I was like, okay, this is cool, this is cool.
Then we get to Randy Orton, who's this? Who is
his match going to be against? I even text you
right before, I'm like, okay, last chance? Who is it?
You said, Trick Williams or who else? Was it?
Speaker 3 (18:35):
Uh RUSEV? I think did you say.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
No it was because it was black? No, it was
it was somebody who's already in NXT. It doesn't matter.
It was it was two guys to like maybe promote
and bring up get up to the next level, and uh,
I said Brock since we didn't get Brock on night one. Okay,
it's Brock Lester here. Oh no, it was say his name.
He appears, Joe Hendry. It's a shot at making his
(19:03):
name known at WrestleMania, and man, that was the for me.
That was the biggest pop of the night because I
had no expectations of Joe Hendry and I don't know
why I didn't, but I literally jumped off the couch.
My wife's like, why are you so excited about this,
and like, you don't understand that's the champion of a
completely different company.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
And here's here's the thing I got. I kind of
got caught in four K because I did the same thing.
I jumped off the cause was like, oh, this is awesome,
and the person that was with me goes, so, why
is he cool? And I'm like, that's a great question,
because I intrinsically know that Joe Hendry is awesome bingo
(19:45):
and that's the truth. But to verbalize it, I was like, well,
he wrote this song and then it went viral, and
he's also handsome and he and he has dances and
hand motions and an accent wrestler. Yeah, like, but when
you start piecing it all together, you're like, this does
not sound.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
Coherence at all.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
This is not not at all. That was my best
explanation was like, this is a guy who is the
champion of a completely different organization. He does not work
for WWE, He's not in a training group with WWE.
I didn't even try to get into the explanation of
them working with n XT. Let's just leave that off
the table. This is the heavyweight champion of TNA Wrestling,
(20:27):
Randy Orton on Night number two of WrestleMania, and you know,
of course Randy's going to go over. In fact, he
was I'm trying to think of everything that he said.
I know he was on Busted Open the next day
he was talking to those guys and he said, I
think this was exactly as long as it should have gone.
That is exactly what should have happened. And everybody questioned
(20:49):
the second RKO, he goes, but he did the second RK,
and then what does he immediately do? He did the
Joe Hendry spin. He knew and I think everybody has
come around now too, even some some people complaining about
it online. It was like This was the biggest push
you could possibly give a guy from another organization on
(21:09):
your night, from your massive superstar Randy Orton. And he
had no issues putting this guy over other than losing
to him. I mean, you didn't expect that to happen. Really,
He goes, but man, I lost to the RKO from
Randy Orton. I am all good.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Yeah, I I didn't think I questioned the second RKO.
But it wasn't like a big deal for me, right,
I was just like, oh, a second one seems kind
of interesting, but okay, you know, oh, is he trying
to bury him? Like that's not Randy like or not
Randy anymore. But but it really was. I mean, when
(21:47):
you zoom out, because that's the problem that we as
wrestling fans have sometimes so funny zoom out. If I'm
Joe Hendry. And that's the thing, if you would put
yourself in the wrestler's position more off, you probably wouldn't
be as critical of the product. Because I'm sitting here
going somebody calls me and goes, we want you to
(22:08):
work with Randy quick match kind of squash, Not really,
but we're gonna put you over. I'm gonna go uh
huh sure, Randy Orton at russell Mania. I don't care
if the guy shaved my head and kicked me in
(22:28):
the nuts.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
I'm doing it, he said.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
I wouldn't have I would have said yes, so I'm
And if if Joe Hendry watched any of the product
most recently, if he's been watching right now, I would
assume that Joe goes, he's gonna pump me right, m
of course, yeah, he's gonna pump me. Great, fine by me.
I'll set out a week of TNA. How about that.
That's yeah, completely fine, no pay no. Not only did
(22:56):
he get a match, he got his own T shirt,
his own WrestleMania T shirt. Dude, this guy is so over.
And he said that he got to see John Cena
after John John's match on Night number two. He was
He goes, he walked by. He just happened to walk
by and glanced in and see me in the in
the room. Stopped and said, what you did out there
(23:18):
tonight was exactly what I was talking about at the
Royal Rumble. You just go out there, you do your thing.
They're going to love you. He goes, you're gonna be
around here for a long time.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
Ah, that guy two for one. He got one in
the match, got one in the ring and one backstage,
that one being from from John Cena. Now he did
call out John Cena. I want to have a match
with John before the end of his run. I hope
that happens now. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
You're gonna put the butts and seats for it.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
That's yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
John's and and and here's the thing. He ain't gonna win,
He's I mean, and that's not what it's about. Yep, dude,
put it on the line. Put put the WWE championship
on the line. Let him defend it like uh it would.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
Oh man, I did think it was funny. Waite. Barrett goes,
So if Randy wins this match, is he the TNA champion.
I don't know if you caught that. Yeah, okay, so
that for me.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Speaking speaking of other comments from commentary, I gotta say
one super quick during the Tiffany Stratton entrance, I should
have said this earlier. So it was the TV's thing.
Tiffany's in the middle. She eventually comes out.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
If you if you listen very closely, you hear Pat
McAfee go, oh.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
She's the one in the middle.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
Oh, that was I was wondering.
Speaker 3 (24:38):
I died. I died.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Man so good and that's a that's a high Pat
Pat McAfee too, which I think if you if you
saw on Monday on the Pat McAfee show, John Cena goes,
you're high pretty much every time you're out there, aren't you.
I think you might be. U just became legal though,
(25:01):
and not just became legal. He was at a show
where it is legal. How about that? So your part
took quite a bit for me. I know that a
lot of other stuff happened. A lot of this stuff
was bigger for me. That was a highlight of the
whole thing. The whole thing. I thought, Okay, I'm good
(25:23):
if everything ends right now and the show is over.
I saw Joe Henry fight on this and it was
a surprise for everyone. No one predicted that. So I
love that. Okay, anything, I know we had Logan Paul
versus AJ styles. You kind of had carry and cross
try to get involved, and that became something socially afterwards.
(25:43):
I don't know about any of that stuff. It just
it almost feels like it's trying to be conjured. That's
just not catching. I love carrying Cross. If they can
build a great story with him, you gotta get something
for this guy. He's too good, not too But I
don't know where this this piece is going. I know
it's going to be something with he and AJ, but
(26:05):
he's kind of been, you know, pestering AJ for quite
a few weeks. I thought that match was fine. It
was great, you know. I love the innovation of Logan
Paul though to walk out, and it was funny as
he was walking out with that that camera, I said,
watch this is a drone. Guys, watch this is a drone.
And he lets it go and it takes off. See
(26:27):
I told you that nobody else was.
Speaker 3 (26:28):
I didn't think. I didn't think it was the drone.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
Honestly, I thought it was just a handheld cam that
he was going to do is Logan Paul cam thing.
And then all of a sudden it lifted off, and
I went, ah, they got me.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
He got well, he got me when it landed back
in his hand though, or holy cat, it circled that
entire place and came and landed his hand. He's also
the guy we have to think for there even being
the fpvuh with it. He when he did that, that's
that jump off the top rope onto a table. I
don't remember who it was against and what PLI it was,
(26:59):
may have been Royal Rumble or something like that a
year ago, but we that's where we got at first,
was he was up there and it flew around him
and it was the only shot with a with a
drone and it was really sick. And then they bring
it over to Netflix and so that's my favorite shot
of the of the night every time. It's not the
best looking one, it's just my favorite one. Yep, as
a as a tech nerd. That matches was find anything
(27:22):
else stand out that night? Becky Lynch coming back?
Speaker 2 (27:24):
That was cool, nice, great moments, great moments all throughout
night too. Sure in terms of do we need to
stop and talk about it, probably not much else from
night to I think I thought it was very solid,
very enjoyable. Not really much stinker stuff either like it.
It was just a really solid, solid.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
Night see A Cody. It's exactly what pretty much we expected.
I was really disappointed to have Travis Scott involved and
not get I don't count Across Roads as a receipt.
I just don't that was a that was a wrestling move.
That wasn't a strong side of the pimpan. That's what
I was looking for. Yeah, and it didn't happen. Why,
(28:04):
I don't get it. You said you thought you like
you saw little booboo face on Cody. I didn't you.
Did you say that or I hear that somewhere else?
Did you see? Could you tell he was losing? I
just don't look on his face.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
Uh. I did say that, but I don't know if
I did about that match.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
I think I said it about a different match, but
I assumed he was losing. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, Honestly,
in hindsight, if Rock wasn't gonna come to Mania, and
(28:44):
if we weren't sure if Rock was gonna come to Mania,
the turn should have happened at Mania with Sina doing it, even.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Without the Rock.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
The Rock this up and I love I love I
love I love DJ.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
I've got no issues with him. I think he's cool,
but like, how do you how are you there? And
now you're just not and then we hear you know.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
Headlines and he's like, yeah, I just I think I
think the final Boss is done no, that means you
booked your schedule out. Bro, Like it's I'm frustrated because
he could have been in, he could have been out.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
This is This is.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
Different than the The The Rock Roman match because that,
you know, people really freak out about that, and that's
a whole different conversation. This is just are you available
or are you not? If you are, great, we've got
the perfect place for you. If you're not, let's work
the story without you. But that's not how it works
(29:48):
because he's like a freaking director of the board or something.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
So you think that the turn if he's not going
to be involved, which I don't think he should have
been involved either, But I've got it. I've got a
different course to get there. So you you don't think
you should have involved here we both agree on that.
You think the turn though from John Cena, should have
happened at WrestleMania.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
Well, it depends, that's more more or less what I'm saying.
Everything could have happened with or without the Rock, but
it can't happen with and without the Rock.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
Agree.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
Okay, so we've established it.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
So should he have turned at wressell Mania or would
you have been a fine if he had turned at
elimination chamber.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
If there if there was no way to, if there
were no other elements in play, like let's say you
can't reinvent a new way to do it, I would
have rather just him done the huge turn. At the
main event of russell Mania, John Cena low blows him,
(30:54):
uh you know, call it a ref bump whatever. He
bloodies him up real good. All this stuff happen, happens
where Sena just for fifteen minutes, just does the most
heel like heel stuff ever gets the title, wins it
in disgrace. Monday Night on Raw cuts the promo from
the Monday from Monday before russell Mania, and then we
(31:19):
get the whole run of the year, more shocking, more
impact less players. But we did the worst.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
I say we. I don't know why I say we.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
They did the age when you were talking to DJ,
y'all talk about we did the worst possible version of it.
Speaker 3 (31:36):
We did the worst possible version. We have this hugely
powerful like Travis Scott like like.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
They wanted to position him as the new Mike Tyson.
News flash, he's not Mike Tyson. Do it with Connor McGregor.
And then let's talk about it. You know what I'm saying, Like,
I agree with the people that Travis Scott shouldn't have
been the difference maker in the match. Now he really
because he really wasn't. So him coming down didn't have
(32:06):
an explicit purpose. Obviously they didn't talk about it much
because he took his sweet time getting down there. Like
it just it fell apart. Now with that said, I
still enjoyed it. This is what I got. I loved
that I got it. It was a great moment with Sina.
It was really memorable for me. All I'm doing is
(32:27):
just kind of picking it apart in hindsight. But I
want to make very clear I'm not unhappy with what
I got.
Speaker 1 (32:33):
I am, so I'll go to the opposite. I think
that it was the absolute worst way to get to
the end of those two. What we got was the
absolute worst. You got, John Sene, you got. Yeah, you
have John Cena winning elimination chamber. Great, he's gonna face
Cody Roads. Excellent. I'm with you on there. Should have
(32:54):
never been the Rock involved. Ever, if he's not going
to be at WrestleMania, he should have never in an
elimination chamber. I think we're on the same page there, Okay.
So I heard him talk and reveal why he did
what he did with Pat McAfee yesterday, and he's talking
about it, and you can tell it made complete sense
(33:19):
to The Rock. It still didn't make sense to me.
He talked about they were soft on tickets for Elimination Chamber.
If he was announced that maybe they would move some
more tickets, they would get some more buzz going for
this whole angle with what would eventually be John Cena
and Cody Rhodes, he wanted it. He what he originally
(33:43):
wanted was Cody to say yes. But it wasn't for
Cody to turn heel. It was just for Cody to
say yes. And it eventually evolved out over the next year.
Triple H brought up, if you want, if you want
to do something here, I don't think I don't think
(34:04):
we should do that with Cody. What if it was
John Cena and Rock said, love it, Let's do it.
But now you got to go convince John Cena and
they talked to Sena. He loved it, et cetera, et cetera.
He goes, but after doing this, I don't think you
need The Rock and let them go and let them do.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
He goes.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
I would have finessed some things differently in the build
up to WrestleMania. He didn't specify what those were. I
don't think him being I think the mistake was the Rock.
There was nothing else in this or every other mistake
afterwards came because the Rock was involved. There would have
been no Travis Scott. If there had been no Rock,
(34:42):
Travis Scott would have had nothing to do except for
his music being played and used for WrestleMania, which that
was already established. We were hearing that song two months
before The Rock and Travis Scott ever came to the
ring at Elimination Chamber. I thought the moment was cool
in the moment at Elimination Chamber, but I fully expected
there to be ten months of other listen. I didn't
(35:06):
expect the Rock to be there every week. I didn't
expect him to be there in any build whatsoever. I
agree that he doesn't need to be there every week.
I did expect him to show up night number two
at the biggest event your company has, and he didn't,
And he didn't think that it was important. And I
don't think the Rock needs to be involved in this well,
(35:27):
you started it, you should carry it. The thought process
I think was wrong, and I think this is one
that was a giant miss from a lot of people.
And if you've got the smartest minds in the room,
and I mean obviously we don't, well right now we
don't know what was said in that room. Evidently we'll
watch Netflix and watch Unreal. Maybe we'll get an answer
(35:48):
for some of this of who said what in what
areas And we won't see that until, you know, sometime
around November.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
And here's here's the thing. I want to be really clear.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
And in the strange event that some WWE writer is
watching the show or somebody just I don't think the
in house writing team is to blame. I think they're
making the very best of the cards that they're dealt.
And so when someone decides to insert themselves in a
(36:20):
self admitted money grab with no intention to follow up
on the back end, it's the in house writing team's
job to do the very best they can. Did they
do it maybe the way you and I were do it. No,
But I don't want to take a dump on the
team that has led so many storylines to a really
great place. But it's just the common denominators are other
(36:44):
people yes, hurting.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
And I don't even think that. I don't think that's
even a question on any of this. What I do
think is that the Triple H actually tried to head
some of this off, telling everybody did you should stop
complaining about and just enjoy what you see on your TV?
Because I think that he knew this isn't as good
as we anticipated it being or predicting it being, or
wanted it to be. When it all started as something
(37:07):
he said, you know, I think it was on It
may have been on Pat McAfee. There was a lot
of Pat McAfee in WrestleMania. That's nice union there, But
he was like, hey, you know, it's what he also
brought up, you know, just just people predicting or just
online complating dot here, we're just telling you our opinion.
And I think that we have the right to do
that too. Just like you guys have the right to
(37:28):
to write and put out whatever you want. We have
the right to buy tickets, turn it off or turn
it on, or talk about it here on podcast. Does
it mean that we know better, No, it means what
we watched on TV. We didn't like, Yeah, that's what.
We just actually have a platform to talk about stuff now,
where you know, even ten years ago we didn't necessarily
have that. It was the disappointment of the whole weekend
(37:53):
for me, of that match that could have been really
really massive. Now what I hope they do and it
kind of looks like this way. If we don't see
Cody Roads on Friday, I think he's gone for a
couple of months, and we forget about this mess, We
forget all the crap he let John Cena do his thing,
do all this stuff with Randy on Backlash and whatever
(38:14):
else happens next, and then we're excited to see Cody
Rhodes step back in the ring. There's a new fire
in his belly and and we're excited to see what
whole Great Riding Team, as you mentioned, comes up with
and moves along. It's been fun and good with the
rock and instances. But I think we saw what we've
(38:37):
all been, or at least you and I have been thinking.
This dude's just sticking his stuff in where he just
wants to and everybody else has to figure it out.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
After got to get your moves in.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
I mean, I appreciate what you did in the Attitude era,
really do. And it's just now it's like, what's so interesting?
Speaker 3 (38:59):
Is it always seems like his schedule is I mean,
he is a busy guy. I get that shit.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
He's the only one that seems to struggle with showing
up ever, So agree.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
Agree Monday, let's hit that real quick. I thought Monday
show was fantastic top to bottom, really great. We saw,
as you just said, rusive show up. Russev is back
in ww You knew he's coming back. I believe they've
It's not going to be a surprise that Alistair.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
Is it Alistair Black?
Speaker 1 (39:31):
I keeping it? Is it right? Alistair? Okay? So Alistair
Black will be back on SmackDown coming up on this
Friday to put the date up, so for twenty five
twenty five? Uh, looking forward to see what they do
with him. Though, if you had to just pick an
opponent direction to go work a program with right this
very instant, where you headed.
Speaker 3 (39:53):
It depends. I'll try and do this quickly.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
But WWE has the mistake of leaning into like still
leaning into a gimmick too much. They did it with
Carry and Cross at first, trying to lean into the
occult thing. They did it with Alistair Black originally too,
trying to lean into the occult thing. It definitely should
be a part of the gimmick. It's a style, it's
a it's a look, and yeah, I can have a
(40:17):
it can have a vibe. But hopefully he's gonna come back.
I want to see him more as like this John
Wick Assassin character, to be honest with you, like kind
of like, yes, you have all the occult and stuff overtones,
but really what he is shows up in a jet
black suit, you know, black pen or not pinstripe, but black,
skinny tie, you know whatever, and he just kicks butt, man, you.
Speaker 3 (40:41):
Know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (40:42):
And but in terms of who he works with, first,
I want somebody just a little smaller in size, so
somebody and kind of like the light heavyweight type area.
Maybe maybe even like a Chad Gable like I I actually,
I know he's tied up right now, but like a
really good technical wrestler, because Alistair Black, when he's partnered
(41:04):
with the right guy, he really shines.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
Yeah, yeah, I agree, that could be really good. I
don't have any direction of a particular person, but your
assessment is I believe spot on and be excited. I
think this is one I'd like to just sit back
and watch. I don't I have great anticipation of this
return with him under this regime. I don't think it's anything.
(41:27):
I'm only going I'm only gonna say this is probably
the next month and then we can I'll finally let
it go. I think this is too low for the
Rock to get involved with, so they'll do something really
good with it. Yeah, and Triple Ah can go, Hey,
what if we did this and uh and guys can
get around and work up something. To be honest, I
thought back and forth. Would I like to see him
(41:48):
have some tie to the Wyatt six? We haven't seen
those guys in a while. I wouldn't be opposed to
it if you did it right and it gave a
good run. But man, we've seen starts and stops. It
starts and stops. It starts and stops with the Wyats,
just like we did with Bray And I was like, man,
can these guys come back for one more round? And
do you put him with that? I don't know, maybe
just keep them separate. But they have kind of the
(42:09):
same what you said, kind of overtones, you know, they
kind of have that that spooky vibe to everything that
they do. And they they have Uncle Howdy, but Uncle
Howdy was never the leader. Bray was the leader. It
still feels like it's missing a leader to me. What
else On Monday, of course, we have the reveal of
(42:31):
a new faction. I would say with Paul and Bully
brought this up on Busted Open? Is this the new
Dangerous Alliance? That could be pretty cool because you could
there what Medusa was part of the Dangerous Alliance back
in the day. Your female could be Becky and then
you have Seth and then you have the power of
(42:53):
bron Breaker. That's a pretty good faction if you ask me.
And it feels qual too. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (42:58):
I also like that.
Speaker 2 (43:01):
I understand that Seth and Paul will kind of maybe
co lead it if you will, but I would actually
like to see Hayman put in more of the leadership
role where you have a non wrestler kind of call
on the shots or whatever that be. Yeah, I always
feel like that dynamic is way more interesting because you're
(43:21):
you're holding that power with knowledge or wisdom versus strength,
you know what I'm saying, And that's always way more captivating.
Speaker 3 (43:31):
So just little side note.
Speaker 1 (43:33):
Yeah, no, I agree, fun weekend. I do feel a
little bloated from all of the action. We'll hit a
few things next week. Anxious to see what happens on SmackDown.
We'll touch on a little bit of that. Also, don't
forget I meant to mention this at the top. I
