You were listening to Wrestling Observer Live with Brian Alvarez
and Mike simper Vivi on the Sports Byline Broadcasting Network.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
In the show, Bryan Alvarez here, Wrestling Observer Live, Lance
is joining us here today.
Speaker 6 (06:26):
I am, yes. Yeah, you act like that's a hardship.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
No, I'm I'm in a foul mood for reasons unrelated
to this show, and I should use that to really unleash.
But I'm gonna wait till tomorrow with Tom because I
think he'd probably like to join in.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
You ever, met this Paul Walter Houser, No I have not,
you haven't.
Speaker 6 (06:50):
No.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah, this guy decided he was going to become an
internet tough guy yesterday on his Instagram kind of promo
on me on Instagram because you know it's funny. It's
funny about it. I didn't even say one negative thing
about him in that Collision review.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
It was all vinny.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Yet I am the one he went after, probably because
I'm smaller. He thinks he beat Tom in an MMA
rules match and now he's tough. Then this idiot brings
up cage match for my record, Like, come on, well,
I know you're an idiot when you go off the
(07:31):
cage match. For like my entire career, I had hundreds
of matches that aren't on cage match. When did they
even start cage match?
Speaker 3 (07:39):
Bro?
Speaker 1 (07:40):
I retired twice before a cage match even started.
Speaker 6 (07:44):
God, they overlooked all those gymnastics students you beat on
the floor.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
I'm talking actual matches. Are you kidding me? God? What
did he put you up to this?
Speaker 1 (07:56):
I'll get him tomorrow. The other reason I'm angry is
anybody here in the chat. Listen to the show on
Apple podcasts and can't get Yesterday's Observer Radio. I've had
people emailing me and now on people on Twitter saying
they can't get it. Lasting did it come up? It
is Yesterday's Observer Radio on Apple podcasts. Golly, everyone says, no,
(08:23):
we cannot figure out why it's not up there. Like
it's been published, it's been up for hours and hours,
but somehow nobody.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
Can get it.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
So just so everybody knows, we're trying to figure out
what's going on, but we can't figure out why it's
not working. It's infuriating, all right, sh So we talk
about real news. Now, let's start with this because I
don't know anything about it.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
Well, here's what I'll say.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
Okay, last night on Raw, the show opened up, and
all they said was that Naomi was not cleared for action.
She was not medically clear to compete, and that's all
they said. Okay, didn't say anything else. So later in
(09:10):
the show it was supposed to be Naomi versus EO,
but obviously they couldn't do the match because Naomi was
not medically cleared to compete, and so EO ended up
doing a match, which she lost after interference from the
kabuki warriors who appear to be turning heel.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
We'll talk all about raw later, but the.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
Point is EO goes backstage, she's all upset, and then
Stephanie comes up and Stephanie says, you're not the only
one who was promised a title match, and she storms off. Okay, Now,
clash in Paris is uh isn't for three more weeks?
Speaker 4 (09:55):
Okay. So oftentimes when let's say that she has a concussion.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Okay, if she had a concussion, you know they would
they would just be like, you know, she's not medically
clear to compete. They would evaluate her next week, they
would evaluate her the week after, to already presume she's
not going to be a clash in Paris. That doesn't
sound good.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Now I'll just say this, Okay, I am not reporting
anything because I don't know what the situation is with Naomi. Okay,
but I do know this, and I won't say anymore.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
There is definitely a rumor going around in WWE about
what's going on with Naomi, and like it's being talked
about by people there, and if it is in fact
what's going on, she is going to be out for.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
A long, long time.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Okay, I'll just say that for now. My presumption is that,
you know, people will find out probably fairly tune, but
I think that that would it would it would be
a while.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
If this is the case. Okay, we'll just have to
wait and see.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
But it certainly looked that way last night on television
when they're already looking at the show at the end
of August is something she's not going to be on.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
So there you go.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
All right, Lance, this is your last show this week? Right,
What do you got coming up?
Speaker 6 (11:23):
I'm going to Baltimore for Emergence on Friday and then
TV tap things on Saturday.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
Goodn'tess gracious?
Speaker 1 (11:28):
So the Impact is taped this coming Thursday? Yes, all right?
Well this Thursday, guys, we got Mad and Jeff Hardy
and Leon Slater against Zach Wentz, Myron Reid and Cedric Alexander.
We got Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay versus Mila Grace
(11:49):
and Harley Hudson. I just got an email from a
guy that says it's now working on Apple podcasts. Can
anyone else confirm? And we didn't change anything, which is
even more infuriating.
Speaker 6 (12:00):
Bread.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
It's been a rough morning, bro, It has been a
rough morning. Mike Santana versus Eric Young, Frankie Kazarian interviews,
Steve Macklin and Jake Something, Matt Cardona versus John Skyler.
Guy on the YouTube we put these videos up on YouTube.
Guy got really mad at me for not knowing Jake
(12:22):
Something's actual name. How dare I call him Jake Something.
The man has a name.
Speaker 6 (12:28):
His name's Jake Something.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
Yeah, someone needs to clue that guy in.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Maybe it was Paul Walter Hauser that put that comment
up there. So anyway, Emergence has got Trick Williams against Moose,
Leon Slater versus Cedric Alexander for the X title, Hardy's
versus The Rascals for the tag titles, the l against
Brian with that Guy against the Inspiration, Fatal Influence and
(12:57):
leg Ying Lee and Zia Brookside, Steve Maclin versus Jake Something,
No count Out Noe EQ. Mike Santana versus Sammy Callahan
and Ryan Nemoth versus the Hometown Man.
Speaker 6 (13:11):
Yes, and if Sammy Callahan loses, he's saying he will retire.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
That's another one now, just like well, I don't know
who the Hometown man is, but yeah, I don't want
none of Paul Walter Hauser. God that that actually irritated
me too, but that's another story, all right. So tonight
there's a TMZ documentary on Hulk Hogan, and there's a
(13:36):
trailer oute and Vince McMahon is apparently going to be
on this show, The Real Hulk Hogan tonight on Fox
eight Eastern, available on Hulu tomorrow Today would have been
Hogan's birthday. By the way, advertised to take part in
the documentary these are the advertised people, Vince McMahon, Jimmy Hart,
(13:58):
Sylvester Stallone, Mick Foley, Goldberg, Mark Henry Charlotte, Jacob Fatoo,
and Alexa Bliss. What a list of people. And they
interviewed Dave as well. But he doesn't think he's.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
Gonna make it.
Speaker 6 (14:13):
He's not gonna make the cut.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
They asked.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
He believes that they had a story they wanted to tell,
which was that, like nobody went to wrestling until like
nineteen eighty four when Hulk Hogan exploded the business.
Speaker 4 (14:27):
You know, the old.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
Smoky, small, smoky, smoke filled buildings, no fans, no kids,
but Tulk Cogan turned the whole business around for the
first time in history, and you know, Dave's not gonna
let that one go. So we'll see what they do tonight.
McMahon can be heard in the trailer saying it was
a tremendous shock.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
It was a blow to my heart. So anyway, that's tonight.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
If you guys care, Nope, I don't care.
Speaker 4 (14:55):
I'm not gonna watch it either.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
I can only imagine, can only imagine. All right, A
couple of a couple of notes. So, first off, when
we talked about the h when we talked about AW
going head to head on Tuesday with NXT, this happens
every year. It's moved, I forget the sport. I actually
(15:21):
deleted this article, but anyway, it happens every year, and
it appears at what they're doing is that it's not
collision on Tuesday head tohead with NXT and Dynamite on Wednesday.
What's actually happening is they're branding the Tuesday show Dynamite.
It'll be a title Tuesday Dynamite.
Speaker 6 (15:40):
We're finally getting Tuesday Night Dynamite.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Tuesday Night Dynamite is going head dead with NXT.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
And then I believe the Wednesday show, which is a
collision will be taped for that weekend. So I believe
that's the way it's doing. They've been doing this for
a couple of years. Now, let's go right over my
head and we'll talk about the pay per viewhead in
a moment, like in a.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
Moment into her life.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
You were listening to Wrestling Observer Live with Brian Alvarez
and Mike semperviv on the Sports Byline Broadcasting Network.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Back of the show, Brian Alvarez here, I was sinking
Observer Live. Lance is joining us as well, and uh okay,
so before we get to the AWWWE thing. During the break,
Lance brought up, you know, Brett Hart was angry about
(16:36):
what happened at SummerSlam. And for those that don't know Lance,
what happened with Brett?
Speaker 6 (16:41):
What I read was he was invited to SummerSlam and
told that he would they would have a seat for
him to sit in the crowd and watch the show.
And apparently when he got there, they told him they
didn't have a seat for him. He was not impressed.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
Okay, so here's here's what I can say about this.
Because when I first when I first heard the story,
like what and it's still kind of is that's my
reaction because you know, I've I've been to many many
WWE shows.
Speaker 4 (17:08):
And the floor the floor area.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Opposite or the same side of the hard camera, the
ringside floor same side as a hard camera. There's a
giant ringside section that like there's never anybody sitting there, okay,
because that's the area where like if you're if you're
a family member or whatever, you get taken to sit there.
So sometimes they'll go like, oh, you know, we're in Charlotte,
(17:36):
North Carolina, that age your boy Rick Flair is here,
and they'll show Flare in the crowd and he'll wave
or whatever. We see this all the time with whoever.
And you know what they do is whoever the person is,
they're not there the whole show, like they're in the back,
and then they get brought down a ringside to stand there,
they do their wave like they've been watching the show,
(17:58):
and then they get him out of there. So that
that's the way they do it. And you know there's
family there and this and that. So like when I
heard the story, it was sort of, what are you
talking about? Come on, but and this is not a
defense of WWE. Because you should never call somebody like
Brett Hart say you have a seat for them, and
(18:18):
then not have a seat for them. But they've been
selling a lot of tickets lately, and it's actually been
over a year that for a lot of shows there
is a no comp rule. And it's not just like
no comps for it's like your family can't come, there's
(18:40):
no room for them, they cannot get in. We're talking
like main roster wrestlers are unable to get their family
in because there's no seats.
Speaker 4 (18:48):
They've sold everything.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
And I mean I apparently the show that this happened
to him, he was not the only person that this
happened to. Noel Foley was there and apparently the same
thing happened to her, like they told her she had
a seat and she got there and then she ended
up in the press box because they didn't.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
Have a seat for her.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
So my basic point, I don't want to defend them
because they shouldn't have done it, but they weren't specifically
targeting Brett and he was not the only one that
this happened to. Add to that show, And obviously with
that said, like don't don't tell someone to come if
you haven't specifically reserved an actual seat for them, especially
(19:32):
some ridiculous Yeah, it's ridiculous, but it happened to It
happened to several people there apparently. All right, so this
somebody on the chat was like, don't even tell me
this head to head is going to be Cody and Brock.
They can't possibly be that petty. So September twentieth, it'll
(19:53):
be AW all out head to head with a w
E main roster show, which will be taking place from Indianapolis.
And yes, the main event is scheduled to be John
Cena versus brock Lessner. So it's obvious why they're doing this.
And I was actually told that there is going to
(20:15):
be one other instance this year where WWE is going
to be countering an AW show. I don't know what
it is, but there's going to be at least one more.
And you know, we talked about this un observer radio
and my feeling and Lance, we can obviously get your
thoughts as well.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
My feeling is, if you.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
Are a big AW fan and you like the card
and you are planning to buy all Out on pay
per view, you are going to do that and you
will watch the WWE show on Peacock at a different time,
or even just whatever match you want to see. I
(21:00):
can't imagine anybody being a big AW fan wanting to
watch the show but choosing not to because Brock Lesner
and Cody is taking place on the same day for
free on Peacock. So it was one thing back in
(21:22):
the day when the idea of running competition, you know,
you maybe only at a VCR, or maybe you couldn't
record two things or whatever. It ain't like that anymore.
Anybody can watch anything anytime they want. I don't picture
this taking one person away from AW or one person
away from WWE, Brock and Sina whatever I said, I
don't know. But the point is I don't see it
(21:43):
affecting AW at all. I mean, you may not watch
them both on the same day because it's going to
be a long day, but I don't think anyone's skipping
buying an AW pay per view because there's WWE on
the other channel.
Speaker 6 (21:59):
I'm going to pull a day and say that, you know,
there might be one Brian, thank you lace, but you're
you're right, Like, if you're a big enough fan that
you follow AEW and you customarily drop your I don't
know what it is now, fifty bucks to order a show.
You really like these shows, you're willing to pay fifty
bucks for them. You will still order the show, and
(22:21):
you can pick up WW so easy on demand on
Netflix or peacock for an hour what have you. Again,
it might be one to five people that'll go, hey,
I'll just watch the other show. But it's like, I
can't imagine it makes a significant difference.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
The thing, too, also is when you look back at
at former head to head battles. I mean, there weren't
a lot of head to head pay per view battles,
but if you had, let's say that that the WWE
John Cena Broucklesner show was a forty nine dollars per
(23:00):
view and the aw show was a forty nine dollars
pay per view. Okay, if they were both pay per views,
I can see a person like me, for example, who's
a fan of you know, I like all wrestling. If
I really wanted to see both shows, I can see
(23:22):
maybe I would have to make a choice because I
really don't want to pay ninety dollars or one hundred
dollar particular.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
It says like a.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
Lot of money if you watch both, so I would
maybe pick and choose which one I want to watch.
It's not like that anymore. Aw is the only promotion
that runs on pay per view now, like starting in January,
even UFC is non pay per view. So even those
days where it's like, you know, is there gonna be
competition on Saturday with a UFC show or whatever, It's like, dude,
(23:50):
it's it's all free. Basically, if you've got this, if
you got the if you subscribe to Peacock or whatever.
Speaker 6 (23:56):
And still does pay per views Brown, Oh yeah.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
I guess you do. But if you have ten A plus,
you're not paying for the pay per view.
Speaker 6 (24:01):
We have four pay per views a year that are
pay per views.
Speaker 4 (24:05):
That you can't watch on TNA plus.
Speaker 6 (24:07):
There's an additional higher level subscription for that.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
Okay, but but if you are a if you are
a big TNA fan, you've probably got that tier, right,
I would think so, I would think, so you're not
paying extra, So you know, I don't know whatever. I
think it's I think it's just a it's just it
gives me something to do on a Saturday. I mean,
I got a lot of stuff I can do that day.
Do a lot of work, but I don't think it's
(24:33):
like costing either promotion, viewers or anything like that.
Speaker 6 (24:37):
Another sleepover weekend for you and Vinnie.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
Yeah, I always I always make a good steak. I
do that normally, but make him.
Speaker 6 (24:48):
You took me and Tom to Applebee's, but you'd make
steak for Vinnie.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
I wasn't cooking back then, and I'm pretty sure Tom
requested Applebe's. He's changed his story in the past. Then
he accuses me of gas lighting. Come on, and you
know what, it doesn't even matter. The fact is he
didn't barf because of Applebe's. He barfed because he drank
about seventy eight beers after going to Applebee's and then vomited.
Speaker 4 (25:13):
So I don't want to hear it. You're right.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
ESPN would be interested in hosting the back catalog on
its new streaming service if the opportunity arises. Of course,
the Peacock deal is going to be ending soon March
of twenty twenty six. Actually we don't got much time left,
so it does appear we're actually gonna have a.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
Bidding war for this library.
Speaker 6 (25:38):
Can you imagine I can't imagine it'd be for a
ton of money.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
But you never know, bro, who knows at this point anything.
UFC was gonna get one point one billion a year.
That's a lot of money. Guys, listen, I love the
old stuff. Like we're watching Mid South tonight. I love
watching the show. I had a great time. I have
a great time. But I watched the Monday Night Wars twice, okay,
and uh, you know, the fact is, like guys like
(26:05):
me like it, but the reality is, nobody's watching the library.
Speaker 4 (26:10):
You guys understand.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
Nobody goes back and watches that stuff, except like the
real WWE version of Sikkos. So the fact that it's
gonna be bit like a bidding war for it, that's
something else. Good for them. We got a big library here,
you know. I got a lot of podcasts, got a
(26:32):
lot of podcasts, all right. Dominic Mysterio says everyone thought
he was faking his recent rib injury.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
He did. I didn't.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
I thought that was real. Did you think that was fake?
Speaker 4 (26:45):
Nope either.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
M kind of like how Set said, they fooled everybody exactly,
all right. Last note, SmackDown one point five five seven
million viewers up point eight percent.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
Are you okay with that?
Speaker 1 (27:02):
Or is that incorrect point eight percent is fine point
four eight and eighteen to forty nine point forty eight.
You know, anyway, we're gonna go to the break of
Doc Rob's overlive.
Speaker 7 (27:38):

You are listening to Wrestling Observer Live with Brian Alvarez
and Mike Simpervivi on the Sports Byline Broadcasting Network Net.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
All right back here on the show, Brian Albarez here,
Wrestling Observer Live.
Speaker 4 (30:55):
Lance is joining us here today. Lance. Would you think
of raw?
Speaker 6 (31:01):
I found parts of frustrating?
Speaker 4 (31:03):
Oh yeah, yeah, like what.
Speaker 6 (31:06):
The finish of the Sammizin match, the finish of the
main event. I'm I find those very frustrating.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
Yeah, they got a lot of bad finishes, Yes they do.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (31:20):
I also and it's minu to keep me sane and
not getting too angry promo segments. If something comes up
that makes me annoyed, I fast forward. So I didn't
see much of the opening promo because when Sam Punk
come out and said he should be the world champion
right now, and I'm like, no, you shouldn't. Seth rawlins.
(31:41):
Seth Rawlins followed the well established, perfectly legal rules by
which to use his money in the bank. He is
the rightful champion. It has been established for over twenty years.
Stop complaining.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
Wow, lay the hammer down on that poor bloke.
Speaker 6 (31:58):
So I hit fast forward once he said. And then
when La Knight come out, I'm like, well, I'll give
La a chance, and he says, I gotta at Punk,
you a rob that. I'm like, no, he wasn't. He
was beaten fairly per the well established rules, and I
hit forward again.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
Goodness gracious, well he was beaten fairly per the well
established rules.
Speaker 4 (32:15):
Yes, that is in fact correct. Where's my uh my
thing here.
Speaker 6 (32:21):
And I've been outspoken. I don't like the money in
the bank concept. I just a sporting organization would create
a set of rules where a guy can come in
and smash someone over the head repeatedly with a metal
briefcase until he's unconscious, and then we can have a
title fight and it's perfectly legal and acceptable.
Speaker 4 (32:39):
Doesn't seem right to you, No, it does not right.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
Well, we'll get in all that as we get go
in here.
Speaker 5 (32:44):
Today.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
I was I think the thing with the finish is
I can't figure out what I like and don't like
in the sense.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
That I hate I hate.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
I guess maybe it's worse when it's like a good
match with a bad finish.
Speaker 6 (33:01):
When you've already emotionally invested and you've gotten into it.
And I was getting there with Sammy, and I think
too because he did the thing with Pierce about you know,
after this match, we can talk about you getting a
world title shot, which is something many people would like
to see you. Baby Face reaching his goal tremendous And
(33:21):
then they even covered their bases with Seamus giving his
word he will not interference. Grew up the match, which
was the obvious dq crap finish and then the match
is going on and you're getting into it, you're getting invested,
and it's just like.
Speaker 4 (33:33):
Uh yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
So it opened up with Punk coming out to open
the show, and yes, we talked about this. He he
thinks he should be champion. Hevows to get it again, Ellie,
and I thinks he should be champion, evows to get
it again. They ended up getting attacked by h Well.
The Heels come out Paul Hayman and they set up
a Punk in la versus Braun and Bronson main event.
(33:59):
Bron Braun is what they're calling them, which I can't
think of a worse name for a top heel team
than bron Braun. That's like something you would give to
undercard geeks. But I can't say on the air what
Broun Breakers said in the aisle afterwards, but I was
I was howling, this guy's awesome. He's a new Scott
(34:19):
Steiner that we had the judgment day backstage and they
didn't know what was up with Naomi's title and El
Gronde comes in and Finn pulls him aside and says,
I don't think these guys like ol el Gronde and
Dom says he's good. I'm the king of the luchit ors.
He's gonna help me win this Mega title on Saturday,
even though they're in their match together both fighting for
(34:40):
the title, and Finn sent the rest of them to
go talk to Adam Pierce. Was AJ and Dragon Le
versus Dominel Grande, which was a good match with I mean,
the one thing I will say about these shows is man,
these shows have heat. Saturday's Friday's SmackDown, there was so
much heat for that show. This show, the fans are
super in everybody there in all the matches. They're into
(35:01):
the hot tags and everything. They're even in like the heat,
which is impossible with one exception. So uh Big comeback
there at the end and the finish is Grande next
ag on the ropes and he very dramatically tries to
load the mask, but he gets booted, the metal falls
to the ground. Dom ends up putting the mask on
(35:25):
loads it ends up headbutting AJ and pinning him. So
the three guys in the Mega match on Saturday at Triplemania,
none of them were beaten in this match. So Dragon
Lee escaped by the skin of his teeth. I wish
he will not on Saturday. So anyway, I think Dom
should win that Mega title. That's my vote.
Speaker 6 (35:48):
I wouldn't complain about that at all.
Speaker 1 (35:50):
Samy met with Pierce, wants to know what he's gonna
get his world title shock and he get it at
Clash in Paris, and Pierce said, listen, why don't you
just deal with Russet tonight. So Seamus shows up and
Pierce tells him do not whatever whatever happened last week
with Russev that cannot happen tonight. Seamus goes, who's gonna
stop me? And Sammy said, listen, this match is very
(36:10):
important to me. Please don't get involved, and so Seamus says, fine,
give him my word. But as soon as the match
is over, he says that bulgarian bastard his mine. Pierce
met with EO set up a match with Rock sand
Later we had the russeven Sammy match, which actually like
(36:32):
it was a it was a good match because Sammy
is so over as a babyface. You know, I I
que which helps well, yeah, but I mean it's every match.
It's like I I remember in two thousand and six
going to Bola when he was El Generico, and you know,
my buddy Jobbs. He is just like, let me tell
you something about El Generico. He has the best match
(36:55):
on every show he's on, And I was like, oh yeah,
And in fact, he had the best match on every frickin'
show that I saw him on. And you know, there's
so much talent today that sometimes it's not the best match,
but he is still and this is twenty years later,
(37:17):
he still is just the most incredible babyface.
Speaker 6 (37:21):
And finding a bad Sammy's Ain match might be damn
near impossible.
Speaker 1 (37:26):
He's about to get the win and Solo, Tauma and
Tala attacked for the DQ. They just ran in for
the DQ. It's such a just a horrible finish and
they killed a guy and Seamus runs down and brawls
with Russev. So obviously they're going to be doing Sammy
and Solo for the title at Clash in Paris, which
(37:48):
I you know, Solo is such a geek, but he's
going to Uh, he's gonna beat Sammy.
Speaker 6 (37:54):
Did you catch the irony of Cole mentioning the Mounties?
Speaker 4 (37:57):
He did mention in the Mounties, And.
Speaker 6 (37:59):
Did you know that Quebec is one of two province
that doesn't have mounties?
Speaker 4 (38:03):
I don't know if it was irony or if he's
an idiot.
Speaker 6 (38:06):
I'm assuming he was just trying to make a Jacques
Rougeau reference. Yes, but Quebec and Ontario have provincial police
and the RCMP do not reside there.
Speaker 5 (38:16):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
Sol and his crew got kicked out and then they
signed Penta versus Woods. Next week, Bronson kind of promo
and Roman reigns.
Speaker 4 (38:27):
This was a great promo.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
I want a match where they hang the shoes from
a telephone wire and they get a ladder and one
of them's got to go up and get those shoes back.
Pretty sure, they're wrestling at the at the clash in
pairs EO and roxand was freaking great. These two are
great and great heat. The fans absolutely love EO and
(38:53):
the finish is the Kabuki Warriors rundown.
Speaker 4 (38:56):
They weren't supposed to be there. Like total heels.
Speaker 1 (38:59):
They hold rock sand so EO can hit her, but
a rock Sand moves runs them together, rolls up EO
and pins her and they did an angle afterwards where
EO and Oscar and Kyrie. EO and Oscar get into
a big argument. Oscar shoves her and storms off. Poor
Kyrie is heartbroken, which is about the saddest thing I
(39:20):
think I've ever seen in my life. She ends up
leaving with Oscar. It looks like the Kabuki Warriors are
turning heel and we're gonna get Oscar thing. Oh that's
coming and that's gonna be awesome. That's another one, by
the way, kleee Oscar is so freaking great. Kleee jay
(39:41):
us So did a promo. La Knight showed up. He
want they both want the title, of course. Then we
had Becky and Maxine. God bless Maxine. I wish her
all the best. She seems like a very nice lady,
but she is absolutely out there. And in two thousand
(40:05):
and six, which is funny because if Paul walter Hauser
looked on Cage Match, he wouldn't find this either. In
two thousand and six, Becky as Rebecca Quinn was doing
a bunch of matches in Pacific Washington. Okay, Pacific Washington
is as obscure as it sounds. They ran in like
(40:30):
an automotive repair garage. They would like take out the cars,
set the ring up in some chairs, and people would
do matches like eighteen people there and she was having
significantly better matches with folks in that automotive garage in Pacific,
Washington in two thousand and six.
Speaker 6 (40:51):
This was rough even story wise. It would be like
booking an MMA fight with me and John Jones. It's like,
why would you do that?
Speaker 1 (41:04):
Well, the only reason they did it is because Bailey
challenged her. It wasn't like Adam Pierce decided.
Speaker 6 (41:09):
But still the company still decided to put one of
the greatest women wrestlers of all time in there with
a woman who in storyline, is not any good yet.
Speaker 1 (41:21):
Bailey did a pre tape promo She's just lost and
sad and depressed, and then they go to Lyra, who
now she feels guilty, but he's trying to convince herself
this isn't her fault.
Speaker 4 (41:32):
Bailey's got to figure this out on her own.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
We had Punk and La Knight versus Braun Braun, and
this was not as good as the earlier matches with
run Ins. It was fine, you know, it was a
basic match. They beat on Punk and then he gave
the hot tag to La, and then they beat on
La and he gave the hot tag to Punk, and
you know, he got him going there at the end
(41:56):
and then he ends up hitting the flying elbow. He
tears his shirt off if he goes for the GTS
and Seth just runs in for the DQ again.
Speaker 4 (42:04):
It's like, oh my god.
Speaker 6 (42:06):
Did you notice the Scott Steiner tutelage spot, which one
when Broun was on the apron he made sure the
ring skirt wasn't under his toes before he jumped to
the desk. If you recall the spot where Scott Steiner
was on the apron and tried to jump on Test
who was in the aisleway and his toes ye rings
kurt and he flotted it right on his face. God,
(42:26):
just watching Bronze stand there and he's digging his toes
in to make sure the ringskirt's not under them.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
And he was gigantic yes when he did that. Yeah,
So the heels beat down the baby faces. Jay USO's
music hits, he runs down, Bronson ends up punching the
chair out of his hand. Jay makes the comeback, sends
Bronson packing. Adam Pierce comes out and he ends up
signing a four way clash in Paris. Seth j Uso
(42:55):
La Night Cmpunk. Seth is furious they hit the ring.
They all beat down the baby Faces again, and it
looks like at some point in the next three weeks
we have got a six man to set up that
Clash in Paris show.
Speaker 4 (43:10):
So it was all right.
Speaker 1 (43:11):
I mean, the finishes are terrible, but it was The
show was fine.
Speaker 6 (43:15):
I would say they love their multi man title matches,
a multi person they do it with both the men
and women.
Speaker 1 (43:21):
We've had a lot of those four way matches lately,
so the lineup thus far from Clash in Paris is
the four way seth j LA and Punk and then
I guess whatever they're gonna do with the Women's World title,
which actually, you know, it was supposed to be Stephanie
versus Naomi. Stephanie's not gonna get her shot. EO also
(43:44):
didn't get her shot, but I guess EO did lose
to rock Sand, so they could do Eo, Rock Sand
and Stephanie in a multi person match.
Speaker 6 (43:54):
And ends up being cleared. Then it could be a
four way for the title.
Speaker 1 (43:58):
Yeah, and then Johnson against Logan Paul, which actually probably
will be pretty good for being honest.
Speaker 6 (44:08):
The one thing that was really impressive with Summer Slam,
It's like Logan Paul, I think was the first ever
celebrity outsider wrestler guy that had to play the wrestler
that carries the outside celebrity guy.
Speaker 1 (44:20):
Yes, that happened, and he did it well all right.
Speaker 4 (44:24):
Back in the moment, Observer Live.
Speaker 2 (44:38):
You were listening to Wrestling Observer Live with Brian Alvarez
and Mike semperviv on the Sports Byline Broadcasting Network.
Speaker 1 (44:47):
In the show, Brian Alvarez here, Wrestling Observer Live. Lanstorm
joining us here today, So we actually have four things
for Dynamite. I thought we might have more by now,
but we do not. Hagman, Paige and MGFF are going
face to face, so they're almost surely a forbidden door match.
John Moxley and Kevin Knight, Adam Copeland and Stokely. Maybe
(45:12):
Stokely is just gonna beat him so bad that Christian
has to make the save.
Speaker 6 (45:17):
If he does, then maybe he'll get some hoes.
Speaker 1 (45:20):
Kyle Fletcher that will then meet his forbidden door opponent
face to face, which is believed to be Tanahashi. But
it's a mystery until the show takes place. But you know,
there's a lot of people still around in the g one,
So I guess we'll find out who it ends up being.
So anyway, that is a Dynamite show on Wednesday, and
(45:41):
then tonight it is the Bryan, Vinnie, Granny, Craig and
Sean Show. We will be watching Mid South Wrestling Season six,
episode thirty six on Peacock. The show is a blast
from the past in a lot of ways, so if
you get a chance to check it out, Mid South
(46:02):
Wrestling Season six, episode thirty six will be tonight on

this one up for today, Lance, good luck with everything
this weekend and we'll.
