Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's up? Everybody?

Speaker 2 (00:00):
Welcome to a brand new episode of Wrestling with Freddy.
This episode is titled What's Up Jeff? He's back, baby,
and we're gonna get into WWE and ae W because
they've started some new stories over on Monday Night. We're
all We got cmpunks surviving at Gauntlet. We got Naomi
finally wearing gold on SmackDown solo, so CoA trying to
do some Godfather moves but Field Cody Rhoades said f

(00:23):
you to John Cena street fight, and then the Hangman
page begins and the show starts right freaking.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Now, and now your main event introducing thosts oh sling Win,
Preddy CHEPDD and of Pardy Bredsun.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Mister Jeff, how was your weekend? Sir?

Speaker 2 (01:04):
We were almost in New York at the same time
and almost got to hang but this business rarely allows
that to I.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
Was coming right as you were going. That's that's what
happened New York. Yeah, man, how was New York for you?

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Man?

Speaker 5 (01:16):
We're both not New York guys.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
No, not really. Also, back in the day, I liked it.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:22):
I think it's fun for.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
Like a few days or whatever. If you're with the
right person, but just in general. When I was there,
it rained like crazy. Did you just get any of
the rain?

Speaker 2 (01:30):
I missed all the rain. Everyone said, ow lucky I was.
I brought the California sunshine. I bring it wherever I
go all day. I went to Scotland for a week
and it didn't rain in Scotland. That's how much sunshine
your boy brings to the tape.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
I'm from Seattle, Washington. I have never seen rain like
what happened in New York.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Within I saw a subway video.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
The water was like like I was. My boots were
in my roomed a pair of cowboy boots. It just
like sloshednched.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
It was wild.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
I think I gotta get me some cowboy boots. Chan,
let's get you some cowboy boots. I've always kind of
wanted to, not always. Once I started working WWE, I
saw like all these guys with these cool, like broken
in really good looking boots, and I was like, man,
that's so good. But I feel like a jackass. Or
they look uncomfortable and they're like, nah, man, they're really comfortable.
But I got flat feet, So do they make them

(02:20):
for people with flat feet?

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Also, you're what are you like, six four, six five?
What are you? No, I'm six to one, bro, I
thought you were like tall, taller than I thought we
were the same height. It doesn't matter. When you wear
cowboy boots, you that extra that it gives you. You're like,
oh my god, because I'm six four, But when I'm
wearing those cowboyts, I'm like almost six five and a half,
and it's like, yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
People are like, I didn't remember you being this big.
I'm like, well, it's kind of cheating a little bit, but.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
They're like, yeah, I can dunk too, don't worry about it. Yeah,
it feels good. All right, let's get to it, you guys,
we're gonna start. We'll do this week's show in order.
What do you know about that. We're gonna talk some
Monday Night Raw with Naomi the Trickster tricked everybody's ass
and got herself the Women's World Championship on Monday Night

(03:06):
Raw and came out and I think she's doing a
great job with her promos. Man, she's really her acting
is much stronger than it was back in the day.
Everybody grows, right, but to see that kind of growth
from someone like when I worked with her. They wouldn't
let her even get a chance to get any experience
on the mic at all, Like it was just like, Nope,

(03:28):
she's young, she doesn't get to talk too bad. So
sad and to see her go from that to having
the mic and the championship around her waist and talking
shit to the crowd and then loving some of the
stuff they say, telling them f you again, talking shit
to EO, talking shit to Rhea. Her promos to Bianca
were good when she went a little crazy and it

(03:49):
was like, yeah, I broke in your house, bitch, I
broke in your house and looked through your fucking pictures.
What do you know about that, bitch? Like all that
stuff was real good. Her stuff with Jade was real good.
I really like what Naomi's doing. I think she looks cool.
I first hated the caution tape. I was like, it
looks cheap, but they changed it. It doesn't look cheap anymore.
It looks cool. And I was digging that too. It's

(04:11):
very old school, very eighties. But I'm an old guy.
I'm like that fty years old.

Speaker 5 (04:14):
I love the kimmick.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
You're an old soul, though, dude, you're an old soul,
you like all that stuff. But yeah, so she came
in there and we ended up getting a triple threat
between rha Ripley Eosky and Naomi. But I just wanted
to focus on Naomi's part of it because I think
she's doing such a good job and I'm really happy
for it. But did anything stand out in that segment
for you?

Speaker 4 (04:33):
No?

Speaker 5 (04:34):
I agree. The only thing I have.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
The only reason I pushed back on that cash tape
before is just because I'm one of these dorks who's like,
I don't like seeing something they've already done in any way,
like and if you remotely reminds me of something else,
I get all upset about it. Not to mention that
people think it's okay if a female wrestler just does
something that a male wrestler did, and I'm always like,

(04:58):
but that's already been done. It doesn't mean just because
she's a girl she can repeat the thing. And so
that's all I was, you know that, But I still
I think it does look good, and I agree with
the undred percent.

Speaker 5 (05:07):
They've been adjusting it a little bit and it looks nice.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Yeah, Art Art's a weird thing, man, because I'm I've
always been in the opinion, I don't mind when something
reminds me of something else. I like tribute, I like inspiration,
I like homage. I mean Star Wars wasn't original. Just
watch Hidden Fortress. It's old Japanese movie. That's where George
got the idea, you know what I mean. So it's
like for me, I've always kind of looked at it

(05:31):
that way, But most of my friends are as far
as their view on art, they don't want to see
the same thing twice. They don't want to see even
the remotely same thing twice too much. They want art
to be new and fresh and sometimes shocking and sometimes revolting.
But they want it to be new and different. They

(05:51):
don't want, they don't want to see like inspirations of
the past.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
So I get both sides of it. I'm just thinking that.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
I don't like cover bands.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
I don't like you know some you know has playing
I don't like that you don't like Harley Quinn was
the most famous like you know, female superhero, anti hero
kind of whatever for a few years. We had lived
Morgan and Alexa Bliss dressing up like her for two

(06:20):
years and wrestling like I don't like a copy of
a thing, even if we know what they're copying.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
Does that make sense?

Speaker 1 (06:26):
So I totally get it. I don't like that.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
I can't just a movie, you know, called I Know
what you did last Spring and then pretend.

Speaker 5 (06:34):
Like I didn't know that they already had I know what.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
You did last It's like, you know what I'm saying,
But they did parody movies about that, they did the
ways did.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
That's fun because now you're doing like a okay, all right,
fair enough, fair enough, fair enough.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
I got you.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
Yeah, Like if there's some sort of tie between Naomi
and Owen Hart and that's why the caution, then I go,
I get it. I like that, you know, like with
the way Natty wears, you know, the heart Foundation kind
of gear or like or or colors and design, Then
I get it.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
I'm like, there's a link there, you know her dad was.
Do you mind it?

Speaker 2 (07:10):
In movies, like when directors replicate shots from their favorite
movies or kind of remake do their version of their
favorite movies?

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Do you does that bother you?

Speaker 5 (07:21):
I'm so ignorant that it happening.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
So if you're not keyed.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Into it, yeah, if you're not keyed into it, then
it would it would go through. So yeah, I know
I feel you, dude, I get where you're coming from.
I'm picking up what you're laying down. So bron Breaker
Gauntlet Match, I thought this was going to go in
a way different direction with the Seth Rowlins injury. I
thought he was going to win this whole thing. I
thought he was going to go and beat Gunther and

(07:46):
then when Seth came back, he was going to cash
in on Braun and and try to turn him out
for taking the MIC a couple of weeks ago and
just kind of like doing his own thing and and
not respecting the the authority figure that that Seth Rollins is.
So I thought they were gonna have him kill everybody
like they've been doing.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
Just kill you.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
You're dead, you you're dead, You're you're dead. And then
here comes CM Punk. And as soon as CM Punk
was last, I was like, yeah, I don't I don't
think my booking is gonna hold up.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
Punk I's gonna be here.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Yeah, he's gonna he's gonna be in a big pay
per view before before Brown Is, CM Punk came in
and uh, it's gonna be Gunther versus Punk we'll get
into next week, we'll do our our prediction show because
SummerSlam is a is a quick turnaround from that last
week in the wrestling. But they're throwing a whole bunch
of stuff in here. I think it's a two day event,

(08:39):
so they have to. So we're gonna get a lot
of story pushed in. It's not all gonna be great
story because it's gonna be rushed, but they're doing their
their best with it here. CM Punk will cut a
sweet promo as he always does, But I don't think
he can win the I always say this. I say
this every time he's an imagine that he always wins,
but I don't think he's gonna win it. What'd you
think about the Gauntlet? And uh, I really? And what

(09:00):
do you think about my booking? Did you think that
was awesome or shit? I thought it was awesome.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Here's the.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
Here's the problem with this is that everyone in that
Dauntlet match is people I like, with the exception of
jay Uso, if l A Night wins, I go, yeah,
I told you, But if Penta wins, I'm like I've
told you and like seem I'm I'm mister. All those
guys whenever I'm talking about bron Breaker, I forget how
much I love Penta. Whenever I'm talking about pent I

(09:28):
forget how much I love La Night. Like that was
like so exciting for me. I thought I did feel
the exact same thing you felt when cmpunk came out.
I was like, all right, because it goes back to
my end of the road is griping about predictability, and
I was like, all right with summer slam and everything.
So but I liked it and it was great, And
I think that w B maybe have a blessing in

(09:49):
disguise with this. Seth Rawlins thinks it's really forcing him
to get creative and uh and get and have to
write stuff that we didn't we didn't predict.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
I have a question for you because I think there's
some people out there that are now starting to think
maybe the injury is not real, it's real? What do
you you think it's real? And also just so un
you're a man in the field. You're a man in
the field. I feel bad for Seth.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
I feel bad for you know, these WB writers that
are probably working a little harder now. Uh, It's it's
just unfortunate, you know, because you got the guy that
has everything. They're giving him everything. He's kind of despite
what anyone thinks about Seth rawlins in his career, he's
doing his best work now and so to have a
knee injury when you've got the money in the bank,

(10:35):
you've got all the you've got a super team, you've
got the wise man, it's kind of it's really really unfortunate.
And anybody who thinks that this is a work so
that he can cash in the money in the bank,
you're just trying to manifest what you wish was happening.
We all wish Seth wasn't injured, but he's just injured.

Speaker 5 (10:56):
We all are like, maybe a work, please feel work.
Is it a work?

Speaker 1 (11:00):
It's not a work. Roman Reigns came in at the
end of the match. Everybody was really really happy.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Everybody knew he was coming, pretty sure. He was advertised
he was coming. I hated when they did that when
out there, I'm like, you're advertising the crowd. They're going
to give away the surprising He's like, no, they're not
giving it away. I'm like, they're chanting his name. They're
channing his name. What do you mean that it's not
giving it away, so he came in, he killed everybody
and then him and see him. Punk had a moment

(11:31):
of like, ya, I didn't forget war games, and Punk's like, well,
are we cool? And Roman's like, we're not cool, but
I didn't forget it, and He's like, all right, that's
good enough for me, and then they were bros. I
guess not a ton of story they can do here,
because again, Summer slams just two weeks away, and Roman
reigns is going to be what's his character in street Fighter? Akuma?

(11:53):
Is that the character that he's gonna play.

Speaker 5 (11:55):
I don't know who.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
I don't know what that is Akuma.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
Acuma's from like one of the later street It was
like when street Fighter after Street Fighter two kind of
blew up, right, and then they started making him again
and again and again and again because it was way
more successful than the first one. And they introduced this
character name a Kuma who was badass and he would
like light on fire. I don't know why I remember
this game. I think street Fighter. I wasn't an im

(12:18):
Mortal Kombat. I was a street Fighter guy. Yeah Kuma
and uh cool?

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
So I don't know how much story they can do
with him because he's gonna be making movies. Man, He's
gonna not have to get beat up for a living anymore.
He can just pretend get beat up, right, you agree, right?
Ro They can't do a story here, there's not enough time. Yeah,
I don't know how, but it'll be a fun tag.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
Is then a few wrestlers in that Street Fighter movie?
Is Cody Rhodes Gile? Maybe, Yeah, that.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Would be cool.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
And I saw Cody on Friday Night SmackDown with that
wig for the for the Naked Gun movie.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
He looked mad funny in that week.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
All right.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Anyway, Also, hey, let's let's go on.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
Let's talk about this subject.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
Since your yeah, you're in the movie industry, this is
something you can speak to. I'm I mean, how long
does it really take to shoot a movie when you're
it's not like he's the lead. It's not Forrest Gump,
you know, like he's a character in a movie that's
a big budget. This is gonna be a big cash
grab street fighter nostalgia movie. So it's like, how long

(13:18):
is he really going to be on set? Like three weeks,
two weeks, it's not.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
So here's the thing, and it's different. Every case is
different because every role is different and every script is different, right,
and every budget is different. So Street Fighter is going
to be a big budget movie, which means they may
ask him to bend to the schedule, meaning, hey, you're
gonna be out, you're gonna work eight days, but it's

(13:43):
gonna be spread out over a full month.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
Can you come to Australia and do that?

Speaker 2 (13:47):
And if that's the case, if it's a big enough movie,
or if they're willing to buy things out, or ww's
just mad cool and they're saying giving him some time
off because his time there is getting you nearer to
an end and he's starting to make the transition. Then
it can be four weeks. If he's the lead of it,
it could be three months. If it's the Cody Rhodes
like Bartender Roll and Naked Gun, it's a day he's there,

(14:08):
a day he's out. Boom done, shot it got in,
got out. That's a rap So it just depends on
all those things we can talk more about, like budgets
and stuff.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
And how they affect movies and all that on the
Thursday Show.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
If you guys are into hearing that kind of crapula,
but yeah, so I with it just depends how big
the role of a Kuma's gonna be. I don't imagine
it being that, So I think it'd be like a
three week job, you know what I mean, and he'll
get in there and get out. But there might be
like rehearsals and all that stuff, and the fight scene
rehearsals sometimes take a couple of weeks, so it could
be up to you know, five six weeks with all

(14:41):
that kind of crap, because.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
You got to learn how to make the fight look sweet.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
Well I guess that answers that because I just remember
Live Morgan booked a movie and they did all this,
Like Live Morgan is getting the role of a lifetime.
They'd be stupid to not let her have of this.

Speaker 5 (14:57):
It's a roll this. Oh my gosh, you guys, there's
gonna be a huge announcement.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
I thought she's gonna play you know, Mary Jane or
something and the next Spider Man. Like the way they
made a sound was like she was gonna do the
biggest film in the world. And then when they announced
the director in the film, I was like, might know
anything about this.

Speaker 5 (15:15):
And they're like, she's gonna be shooting on set.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
She was gone like a week and a half and
it's like, why did we even hear about this movie?

Speaker 5 (15:22):
Like it affected nothing?

Speaker 1 (15:24):
And there they promote themselves. You know, they do this
all the time.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
They're always gonna self promote, self promote, thought promote. It's
it's the circus business man. So you know they got
any opportunity they have to get new eyeballs and say,
look we are cool, We're not just this, we're also this.
They're always gonna take advantage that said. I agree with you,
it can be corny. However, I will say this, not
every movie is gonna be huge like Spider Man. Sometimes

(15:49):
you might get book an indie movie and you're still
super hyped for it.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
So don't be a hater.

Speaker 5 (15:54):
I'm you know what I am.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
I'm that like drunk city guy wandering through the circus going,
wait a minute, that's not a real bearded lady. It's
the beard is They they're tricking me, you know when
the circus tricks me, and if they better, they better
really trick me.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
I don't wanted to be finding out that they're tricking me.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
You know, look, we get it. You don't like the
circus you're not into animals. Hey, cruelty cruelty right. See,
I had a weird pause there, but I came in
at the end saved it. So you don't like the circus,
that's fine, man, We'll move on. Look, we had Lyra
Valkyria and Bailey two out of three falls match. I

(16:37):
just I don't. I'm not that invested in this. If
you want to talk about it, we can, but I
don't have a lot of I like.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
One thing that they're doing is that they're making Bailey's
real life thing into the story, which I like that
they took a thing that she doesn't like, that she's
not being booked, and she was yammering about it like
in these interviews and things, and so now they're putting
that into the story, like of her being like, well,
I'm available. Like I kind of do like that. But

(17:04):
other than that, it's not It doesn't do much for me.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
Here's some summer slam matches that came out of last
week's Monday Night Row. We got Gunther versus c On Punk.
We talked to you about that. He won the Gauntlet,
of course he did. We've got Becky Lynch versus Larra
Valcario once again.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
We'll see what happens.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
You know, they seem to like Larra, so maybe she
gets another win on Becky. Becky does some shenanigans, some
shady shit in order to get the win. She couldn't
beat her straight up, so could this be the time
she gets the straight up victory.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
We don't know. I'll probably get that one wrong. I
don't know what I'm gonna do on that.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
We also got Naomi versus Rio Ripley versus Eo Sky
triple Threat.

Speaker 1 (17:38):
This match is going to be so sick.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
I feel like every time EO does a pay per view,
everyone remembers how sick of a wrestler she is, and
how awesome some of her moves are, and how unique
some of her moves are. And that's why she keeps
winning this championship even though English is in her first
language and she can't always you know, communicate as well
as someone top shelf like Rhea Ripley or something like that.
But that's why they keep giving it to her, because
she gives these crazy matches that just makes everybody look great.

(18:02):
So good opportunity there. That might be our bet of
the week, But we'll get into that. On next week's show,
we got SmackDown Jeff and that's the son of a bitch.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Solo Sokola tried.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
To frame your guy and my guy Jacob fat too
to Samoan werewol. They started the show with a car crash,
not figuratively but literally, and and Solo's pissed off and
he's like, yo, man, we got to get the cops.
And Tonga is he's bleeding. And the big guy, I
can't remember his name yet, he's it'll become more familiar

(18:45):
once he's on TV more.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
But he's you know, he's bummed out. He's like, oh man,
I'm bummed out.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
And Kathy Kelly's on the scene, investigative reporter, super professional,
and she's talking to Adam Pearce, and Adam Pearce is
being as professional as he can be, and he's like, look,
we're getting all the information we can, Kelly, but right
now you got to you gotta f off.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
And she's like, all right, I'll lef off back to
you guys, And.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Then they start the show. So we get some soap
opera drama and uh, that's by the way, the end
of the story. The cool part was when the cops
came to talk to jacoboto and he called him some
punk ass police that was money, and I was like, yo,
you can't talk to the cops like that. Man, he's crazy.
They're gonna lock you up. So that part was great,
and then Solo came out to cut a promo, you know,

(19:30):
he was gonna get his ass kicked, and Jacobotu came
out and was like, yo, man, I saw some video
from Adam Pierce and you set all this shit up
just to make me look bad, trying to get me arrested.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
Now we're gonna go to jail.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Alright, We're gonna go to jail in a steel cage
with the US title on the line of Summer Slam Baby.
And they all fought and Jimmy Usso came out and
he's like, yo, I got you back too. We'll kick
these guys's ass. So we got that. We got that
match coming up. This isn't the strongest the Bloodline story
has been, right because Solo still he doesn't have the
ten years experience that Roman had to get that ill

(20:03):
on the MIC. And it's not an A story because
it's not an A title, so he's not getting that
kind of love and treatment. I will say this, from
where Solo started to where he is now is probably
one of the quickest demonstrations of like growth that I
can remember seeing. And now I'm not going to say ever,
because there's always someone, but I don't remember the last

(20:26):
time I saw someone go from not being able to
talk to being able to communicate a segment and get
it through. It's not always the best, but he's able
to communicate and get it through. And this is to
make Jacob the champ once again and to make him
look good, or maybe they're trying to strengthen the bloodline again.
I don't know if that would be the right direction,
or at least not the direction I would like to see.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
I want to see Jacob winn.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
But that was the story, and it's getting us to
a steal Cage match. It's not the best story, but
they're committed to it, and since they're committed to it,
it's easy for me to come, easier for me to.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
Commit to it. So I'm with it and I'm looking
forward to the matter.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
What about you, dude, I'm excited about it just because
steal cage. I love that kind Yeah.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Yeah, Also Solo Punjabi prison behalf.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
We could just get to that, that's next.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
The uh. The thing was so like he went from
literally being no one knows in WWE.

Speaker 5 (21:18):
He's not a household name at all.

Speaker 4 (21:20):
He's he's just like literally whatever, to being in the bloodline.
We see him every single night in the Bloodline. And
it was like, I think the quickest I've ever seen
a wrestler go from nothing to like right in the mix.
That being said, it doesn't mean he's ready to be
the leader of a stable, and so.

Speaker 5 (21:41):
Like that's where that's when it's been.

Speaker 4 (21:43):
That's what's been a tough adjustment, is like Solo trying
to lead the bloodline. There's a difference between him being
in the bloodline and being like a main guy to
like trying to be the leader of all these guys.
And it's been at times comedic watching this try to
you know, live on. I think that what they're doing
right now is fun. They're taking big swings, the police

(22:05):
coming out, all this kind of stuff.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
I'm here for it.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
I love the I think a steel cage, you know,
getting arrested, framing, all these kind of different things, Like
it's great.

Speaker 5 (22:15):
Take I say, take big swings and I'm here for it.
I love it.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
It's interesting what you said, the not being ready part,
because it's almost like life imitating art or art imitating life,
I guess in this case, because the story is the same.
Is this character ready to lead the bloodline? He failed
with Jacob? Is he going to fail with these guys?
If guys get hurt? Does he have someone else he
can bring in? He failed against Roman, He's not ready

(22:40):
to lead. And that's kind of the story that they're
telling as well. So it is kind of both both
at the same time. Or ten thousands, ten thousand sorrows.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
Yeah, I think so. All right.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
Finally, Cody Rhodes, John Cena, John Cena came out ready
to sign the contract, but he had he had a
message for the w W universe, and he was, look,
I would love to wrestle, but I just I can't.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
I can't do it. I can't be there. I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
I know, I know you're mad. Don't be upset. And
then where I'm thinking, Ah, he's injured, doah poor guys. No, No,
not injured. I gotta do something a little more important
than represent this. I got a film, I got some
movies to make with driz Alba on a streaming service
instead of in a movie theater.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
I don't know why we still do that.

Speaker 2 (23:29):
Streaming should be for television, movies should be in theaters,
but that's another conversation. And for stand up comedy specials,
but although those should be in theaters too, like in
the old days, that would be so fucking badass. Sorry
for cursing, but anyway, he's filming, so he's busy. You guys,
he can't he can't show up, he can't be there,
and it let it, let the fans down, let me down,

(23:50):
I know, it let Jeff and Alex down, but most
importantly let Cody down.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
And he sensed we were upset.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
So he ran out of the ring, chase Johnson and
down punched him in the head five times, punched his
head into the ring one time, threw him in the ring,
beat his ass some more, laid him up on a
table because John Cena is not going to sign the contract.
We'll kind of champion doesn't sign the contract, the punk
ass bitch And then uh, that's what Cody called him.
And then Cody climbs up on the top turnbuckle with

(24:15):
the contract in his hand for some reason, and he
jumps off and splash lands right on John's He was
a beautiful splash, by the way, beautiful table break.

Speaker 1 (24:24):
He looks so good. And then he makes John Cen.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
He puts the pen in John Cena's hand, who's unconscious
because he got splashed, and he makes him sign the contract.
John Cena, here's the problem. That's illegal. That just not
a legal contract. If I'm John Cena, I'm like, hey,
you make me sign whatever you want. Dude, you force that.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
I'm not.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
I'm not wrestling you. So I don't know where this
goes from here. Because they booked it. They were like, nope,
it's booked. It's a street fight, it's not just it's
not just a regular match.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
So this is booked.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
But if I'm John Cena, I'm like, man, that's under
duress to say the least.

Speaker 4 (25:00):
This is the double turn, right, I mean, is this
what we're saying or we're seeing that.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
I don't think.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
I don't think Cody's gonna turn. I'm hearing that a lot,
but I don't go ahead, stay your case though.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
Oh I'm just asking you because you know, hitting the guy,
you know, because he's it was a very heel move
to like blast him the way that like John Cena
has been hitting everyone with his belt.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
I thought he deserved it.

Speaker 4 (25:23):
Well, I think I think you could make a case
for a lot of things we deserve. The face shouldn't
be doing, you know, like you know the the what
we deserve.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
Are you saying I have heel tendencies? Is that what
you're saying?

Speaker 4 (25:35):
I have heel tendencies? And we can't act on him, Freddy,
that's only the face. You don't get to act on
your heel temptations. Yeah, it was very strange or telling
that he did that and made him sign the thing.
It's gonna make John Cena look like like a good guy.

Speaker 5 (25:55):
I think. I don't know. I'm just I'm wondering if
they're gonna do that.

Speaker 1 (25:58):
I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
See when I worked there, we pitched a John Cena
Hill turn like every four months, and it was never
gonna happen. And so I think I'm conditioned to say, well,
if you're the face of it, you don't turn right,
because John Cena never turned until he left and this
little run here and early in his career before he

(26:20):
was John Cena when he was like jo John Cena.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Then he was kind of heallish. But Cody, I think,
is the face. You can't.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
I think from like the corporate perspective and a publicly
traded company that you keep him.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
Clean as a whistle.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
You're just toughening Cody up when you do moments like this,
because he's not like the biggest dude, right, so it
makes him look tough to beat some ass once in
a while. Sometimes he I think he can lose it
in traffic and give a guy the finger out of
his Lamborghini or.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
Whatever sweet ass car Cody Roads drives.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
So I don't know, man, I don't. I'm not on
that boat yet. I think Cody's still going to be
the be the face. And I think the whole reason
John did this was to get to be a heel,
just to have just to have fun.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
But this is mine.

Speaker 5 (27:01):
Well, here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
I'm wrong.

Speaker 4 (27:02):
All the time, I wasn't. I wasn't. I didn't come
to this conclusion on my own. I'll say that someone
in my wrestling text thread said, why was Cody Rhoads
wearing the Rocks glasses?

Speaker 5 (27:19):
He had the same Cody Roads.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
Doesn't wear glasses, and then he's wearing the same glasses
as The Rock.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
I didn't know when The.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
Rock came back and was doing his uh, you know,
his bad guy rock stuff. And then he also, I'm
a big watch boy. I love time pieces. Cody Rhodes
was wearing the same watch that The Rock was wearing.

Speaker 1 (27:41):
Come that's so many coincidences.

Speaker 5 (27:44):
And I said to myself, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (27:46):
And I like Google and trying to find things on Reddit,
and uh, it seems like there's a little bit of
a of a rumbling about that. Is this the the
soul he did?

Speaker 1 (27:58):
He did?

Speaker 4 (27:59):
He? You know, the the Rock is kind of tainting
Cody Rhodes very interesting.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
I did not know that. I'm gonna have to keep
my eyes peeled for that stuff. Look at all those
Hawks out there, a bunch of hawks.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
I like it. I like it very much.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
So here's the matches that we're going to see at
SummerSlam based on the week in w WE. We got
solo versus Jacob and a steel cage match. What that
match is going to be awesome. He's gonna do his
freaking finisher from the top of the cage. You know,
He's going to do it and do a full moon
salt from the top of the freaking cage.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
That would be insane.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
We got Andreda and Phoenix versus the Wyat Six, all
good wrestlers, but they should be, man. They just need
reasons why. They need reasons why. And it's still too
obscure for me, for my for my taste, I need
them to have a clear cut reason why. We got
Flair and Bliss versus Rock Raquel and Roxanne, the unlikely duo,

(28:58):
the the the odd couple of Flaring, Bliss versus the
young upstart rocks In and uh the badass Mama Raquel,
And then we got Rhodes Versusena in a street fight.
Pretty damn good cards so far. I mean, there's a
lot of matches, yeah there for all that, yeah, bro,
and that's and it's two days, so we're gonna get

(29:20):
a hell of a lot more. We're also gonna have
Cargill versus Stratton. What else are we gonna I don't know,
we got a lot of shit coming, all right.

Speaker 5 (29:29):
What's that one?

Speaker 4 (29:29):
Lady Cardi b is gonna be there? Maybe she's hosting?
Oh really, yeah, I didn't know, all right, so maybe
she'll get into the mix. We got Jelly Roll Wrestling,
we got all these famous people. Yeah, that's maybe maybe
he gets in on some triple throat triple thruts trip
at all. Right, onto ae W. We got a nice

(29:50):
promo Adam Page. Man, he's been doing he's been doing
this thing lately. Got a nice promo from Adam Page.
This is one of Jeff's guys right here, big time.
He likes the cowboy.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
He likes the boots, the buckles, he likes the jacket
with the fringe on it. He likes it old people
because he's the last cowboy in Los Angeles. But he
came out there and he cut a pretty solid promo.
It started off as just kind of like fan servicing,
which isn't my favorite, like it's you, you deserve it.
But then it got into some real shit where he's like, Yo,
I owe some thank yous. I've been kind of a

(30:22):
shit and it's gonna be hard to say thank you
to a couple of these motherfuckers, but I'm gonna do it.
And he did, man, and I really liked it. Each
thank you was different. Each thank you had a different, real,
genuine like motivation behind it.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
I really liked the promo.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
But MJF is out there and MJF cut a promo
with MVP, and those two together, by the way, are
so freaking good on the mic. They're so smooth and
their transitions are good, and they step in on each
other and Mjf's like, look, man, I'm so glad that
you won. I've already beat Moxley F that guy. I
can't wait to humiliate you and get back what's rightfully mine.

(31:01):
I cannot wait for an MJF Hangman Page match. MJF
has to win because eventually the Hurt Syndicate has to
cast him out and you get to a Bobby Lashly
MJF match. But I but I've been liking Hangman Page
so much lately. I don't know yet. We have to
see how this story plays out. The story. MJF is
a storyline wrestler, right, so the story will dictate who wins,

(31:24):
not so much the match itself. Like you can kind
of get hints on how it's gonna go based on
what he's selling emotionally in each one of these promos.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
So I don't know just yet.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
It's too early, But I was super hyped for this
and there's no match yet yet, but this shit is
coming and it's gonna be awesome.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
Jeff, he's your boy. Tell the people how great he is.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
I think what they're doing is I think that they're
really like resetting his image.

Speaker 5 (31:54):
You know, like.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
It feels like we already like him, we already got it,
but now they're trying to really like hone that in
as far as like you said, like he wants he's
trying to.

Speaker 5 (32:03):
Be like, you know what, I'm gonna make amends like
we do an AA.

Speaker 4 (32:07):
You know he's going, oh, you know, I thank everyone
and show how appreciative I am. And so it's also
when you're when you've got MJF in a storyline, you know,
MJF is just gonna be MJF. There there's no adjusting
that character. MJF is the perfect like, yeah, I think
he's like the greatest mic person that's ever been in wrestling,

(32:29):
with exception of Paul Hammond. But like it's like when
it comes to like just knowing what he's doing, he's
got this great wrestling sensibilities. I just I just really
like what he does. And so you're not going to
change that.

Speaker 5 (32:42):
MJF.

Speaker 4 (32:43):
Is already dialed in, and I think so you got
Adam Page kind of resetting and retooling a little bit
to perfectly make this this storm.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
That's what I think. I think that's dead on. I
think that's a great take. I think that's dead on.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
Dude.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
I can't freaking wait. Copeland came out he could promo.
He said, Yo, I'm still off friends with Christian. That
guy's an asshole. He's got to work some shit out
and we'll get to that storyline later.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
It's basically what he said.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
Stokely Hathaway came out, talked about FTR Copeland. He came
out with security too that had sweet hair, and Copeland
didn't care about their sweet hair.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
He just beat up everybody.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
And then spirit or Stokely dude, I like what Stokely
gets fucked up.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
That's a little bit of stuff.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
There's not a ton, not a ton because the Hangman
Page MJF thing is going to be so good, there's
not room for really everything else that's going to happen
out there. But that's pretty much our week in wrestling,
you guys. I know I left out a couple of things.
If there's any final thoughts, you had, Jeff that you
want to throw in there. We still got a little
bit of time before we say goodbye.

Speaker 5 (33:44):
I'm just happy.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
I'm happy, and I'm excited for Summer Slam.

Speaker 1 (33:49):
I'm happy as well.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
We're going to do predictions next week on Summer Slam,
but stay tuned for unsanctioned Thursdays where we don't know
what we're going to talk about, but you'll find out
if you listen back of Jeff. I'm pretty yeah,
