Speaker 1 (00:02):
My role on this Freddy is the star of this show.
But my role is to ask the hard hitting questions.
Caitlin alexis not. My question was hard no, no no,
but I know, but you I'm willing to get to
ask the questions that that that the people.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
All right, Freddie will ask. So here we go to Caitlin.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Are you on steroids?
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready's about to hit the fan?
Speaker 3 (00:40):
Welcome to on sanctioned Thursdays inrestling with Freday.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to unsanctioned Thursdays, the show that
you guys asked for, the show you wanted, you made.
It's for you until you hate it. It will be
here last or not last week. But a couple of
weeks ago we started our indie talent Spotlight. It went really,
really well. We had any Pacifical on. We still wish
him all the best. But this week we have someone
a little bit different. She's from Knoxville, Tennessee. We have
(01:07):
Caitlin Alexis wrestling. Miss Caitlin. For about three years, you
were trained by the one and only doctor Tom Pritchard.
I believe that's Bruce's brother. I knew Bruce really well.
I never got to meet Tom though. But you don't
just kick ass. You also have a bachelor's degree as well,
so you don't just fight, but you have the brains
as well. Tell us about your entrance into professional wrestling,
(01:29):
what made you want to start, and the story as
in long form, short form, whatever form you want.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Okay, So I have been watching wrestling since I was
about nine years old to grew up watching it, and
it was like an instant click. I was like, okay,
like that's what I want to do, Like I'm going
to go out and do that. And then at the time,
I really didn't think like it was possible to like
be able to do something like that. I just thought
like wrestlers were just they were just made, you know.
(01:55):
And so I finished school and my only thought at
the time, because my childhood was very rough, my only
thought was, Okay, I have to finish high school and
go straight into college and get my degree and I
have to get a really good job one day and
just like be successful in life, and like that was
my only goal. And so I went into college and
(02:16):
went to ETSU right after I finished high school, and
I got my bachelor's degree, and the whole time I
was still like so miserable and depressed. I was like,
this is not what I want to be doing right now.
Like I just knew, like I had that gut feeling
that like I was meant to do something larger than life.
And so I was like, Okay, I'm gonna finish my degree,
which I did, and I was like, okay, I'm gonna
(02:37):
apply to wrestling school and chase my dream. And now
here we are.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
And when you decided to go and chase the wrestling dream?
Was the first school you went to? Was it Pritchard's School?
Was that where you first went? And where was it?
Speaker 3 (02:50):
So it's located in Northville, Tennessee.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Was still in Tennessee when you did Okay, gotcha? Gotch Well, I.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Was going to school in Johnson City and I was
still working like waiting tables at the time, and I
just finished school and I was like trying to figure
out what I was going to do from there. And
one of the girls that I was working with at
the time, she was like, you know, Glenn Jacobs actually
has a school in Knox And I was like, really,
no way, And so I went home that night as
soon as I GoF work and I looked it up
and I found it and I applied and got in.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Oh wow.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
It was like yeah, I think it was like two
days after I applied, I got the email saying I
was in. I was like okay, and then just like
packed up all my stuff and left.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
That's jump in there. I'll just do all the questions.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
I was just going to say to maybe some of
our listeners, you know a lot of wrestlers are just
sons of wrestlers, or daughters of wrestlers, or nieces of wrestlers,
or dated a heart boy. When you say that nine
years old, you wanted to like, you knew you wanted
to be a wrestler, but you didn't make the decision
to become a wrestler. You just knew that was something
(03:49):
that would be cool because it clicked. And then you're
going through school and you're like, you know what I'm
going to do this? You said you talked to a friend, right,
you must have the friend that told you about Glenn
Jacob's school. You must have been bouncing this off people.
Well what do you do? Do you go home and
go how do I become a wrestler? What was your
process for that, because it is it is weird. It's
weird to decide yes.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Literally, everyone that I was working with knew that I
loved wrestling and I wanted to be a wrestler, and
they're all just talking to me about it. And she
was like, hey, like there's a school and so I
was like, okay, like really, no way. So I just
went home that night and I was like googling up
the school and I found it and I was like, Okay,
I'm gonna apply and shoot my shot and see what
I can do. And then I got the acceptance email,
and I was like, I'm just going to go for
it and see what happens.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
So three years in, very young, very early in your career.
There are wrestling companies that have been around just a
couple of years longer than your whole career. That's it's
a short amount of time. What is your favorite moment
so far in your career? What's been the highest of
highs for you besides this podcast?
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Ye?
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Right, So I actually got to be in WrestleMania thirty nine.
I was in Oscar's entrance, So.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
I, oh, wow, pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Yeah, that's awesome. Yeah, she's one of my favorites. So
you did you get to dress up as one of
like the like one of the characters like that, Yeah,
that's cool. I remember MJF from a w was like
a security guy at a at a WW event and
Samoa Joe got to like beat him up or something,
and I remember he loved that moment. It's like those
(05:21):
moments when you're on the way up right, and you
kind of remember those forever. That's the good side, But
there's a loneliness that comes to being an artist as well.
Can you talk a little bit about the tough part
of chasing this dream because it's a very particular one.
It's not like an office job.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
Oh gosh, where do I even start. I think it's
just like the really like scratching and calling your way
just to get that one opportunity to be seen and
like have that chance to like showcase like what all
you can do. There's that, there's the financial struggles and
just like the people, like the people that you have
in your life that aren't into wrestling, like they truly
(06:01):
don't understand, like they don't get it, and like everything
that you have to miss out on, and I'm just like,
I'm sorry. Guys like I have stuff I have to do,
you know, but I think that would be everything.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Yeah, it's the artist's life is a tough one. Go ahead, Jeb.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
All right. So my role on this Freddy is the
star of this show. But my role is to ask
the hard hitting questions. Caitlin alexis that my question was hard? No, no, no,
but I know, but you I'm willing to get to
ask the questions that that that the people.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
Freddy will ask.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
So here we go to Caitlin, are you on steroids?
A lot of wrestlers do steroids and they get popped
and it's a big deal. So I mean you say this, yeah, okay,
I didn't answer the question.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
That's just you flexing in the in the zoom.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
No no, no, no, I'm not fair enough. All right.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
So when you see where you're at now, are you
the type of person that says, in three years I
want to be here, in five years, I want to
be here? Or are you more right brained? And it's like,
as the opportunities come, I adjus, I evolved. Where what
is your next goal? Where do you see yourself? Where
do you want to be?
Speaker 3 (07:25):
I want to get signed, Yeah, I want to be
the next big thing in WWE. That's been like I
wanted to be a WWE superstar since I was nine
years old.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Who is the first wrestler that you remember watching that
you kind of fell in love with, not fell in
love with, but you know what I mean, like where
you're like, oh my god, they're awesome. Tris Stratus, Chris Stratus, Yes,
saying Besta. That first wrestler I ever fell in.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Love with, it was her, and then it was the
Bella Twins.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Oh, the Bella's are the what about guys?
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Didn't you like any guy wrestlers?
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Yeah, it's a good one. Hell yeah, except he beat
Kurt Angle in Kurt's hometown and that made me sense. Kaitlyn,
first off, tell everybody where they can find you on
social media because I forget to do that every week.
And then I'll hit you with my last question.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
So my Instagram is Kaitlin Underscore Alexis and then my
Twitter is just Kaitlin Alexis.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Jeff, do you want to sneak a question?
Speaker 1 (08:23):
And yeah, I was gonna say, have you came up
with any like moves or like, like, what's what's like
your signature move?
Speaker 2 (08:29):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (08:31):
So I do a running bulldog or I do a
wheelbarrow into.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
A bulldog wheelbarrow. Oh I like that? Yeah, I like.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
And I'm small too, so it like works out.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Yeah, what's the process for thinking of things like that?
Are you always trying to come up with like little thing?
I mean, I've done some trampoline backyard wrestling, and we
were always screwing around with someone's move. You know what
if we did this, moved into this, Well, I'm not
strong enough for that or I'm not big enough for
that one.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
Right now, I'm trying to find things that like kind
of into like my character more because so I'm a
hula hooper nice and I'm trying to like figure out
stuff in between that, like what's going to relate to
what I'm doing? So does that character?
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Do you try a lot thinking about bringing your personal
stuff into this character and seeing what works, because three
years in you can still experiment with a lot of stuff,
I'd imagine.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Yeah. So, whenever I first started wrestling, I didn't have
a character. I had no idea what I was doing.
I didn't know who I was, and I had started
like the Holy Being stuff. Whenever I was in college,
I needed a hobby and I was just like posting
videos on the internet and not thinking about it. And
one day I came into training and doctor Tom Ritchard
he like pulled me outside. He was like that whole
hoop and stuff like you need to go out there
and you need to perform with that and then you
(09:41):
need to do your match.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
And I was like, that's a hard foreign object to hide.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
Have you ever used this is my last question. Have
you ever used the hula hoop in a match to
get a victory?
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (09:54):
No, not taking a victory, but I have like hit
people with it.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
I love that he's got the marbles in it. It
sounds all yeah, like have you.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Ever been hit with one? It doesn't feel good.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
I got whacked in the face with one when I
was a kid, but it was an We were playing
like frisbee with it and I wasn't looking at it.
Clip me in the face. That's my traumatic kula hoop experience. Caitlin,
You're awesome. Thank you for being a part of our show.
This show exists because wrestlers like you come to do it,
so we appreciate you taking the time to come here.
I'd love to have you back on the show again.
(10:25):
Hopefully you'll be signed and we'll have even more awesome
stuff to talk about. And I wish you the absolute
best in your career and in your life as well.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Thank you so much. I really appreciate that.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
We look forward to when you're a big san. We're
not on steroids either, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
We're not. Well, I'm I'm doing a little I will
say I was saying I'm looking forward to someday maybe
ten twenty years from now. People go, you know that.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
She was one of the OSCA.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
She was it wrestled at you thirty nine, she was
one of the people, because that'll be like just a
fun trivia question about Kaylen access As what.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
Thank you, guys.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
I appreciate you being on the show. Thanks, thanks all
of you for the thing. Don't forget to join us
