Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's up, everybody. Welcome to a brand new episode of
Wrestling with Freddy. Just me today, Uncle Frederick here to
talk wrestling because backlash has come and gone and our
truth saved the day. That is, if you love John Cena,
he ruined the day. If you love Rany Jorton. But
we're back and we're gonna break it all down on

(00:21):
Wrestling with Freddy.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Let's start the show and now your main event introducing
the hosts are Wrestling with Freddy, chep Die and Freddy
bread Tune.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
All right, first off, always hit us up on social media.
Let us know if you like the shows not well,
you can let us know if you like this show
in like the review thing if you leave us a
review and stars and all that kind of stuff. Let
us know how you feel about the pay per views
or the premium live events as they're known now on
our social media. Hit us up and see if you agreed,
disagree all that crap, but always let us know. So

(01:08):
first off, we're gonna get right to it. John Cena,
the Champion, the last real champion versus Randall Randy Organ,
the legend killer. He had to kill another legend, you guys.
Let's you know, it's his name for a reason, which
is why this whole fight started, because it's his job.
But we all picked John Cena to retain, and of

(01:30):
course we were right. We did get a one wrong maybe,
I think this week, and we weren't able to give
a prediction on Dominic Penta, although I think that one
was a predictable ending no matter what, not for a
bad reason. Just I think everybody knew dom had to
win and let Penta develop his fan base and get
stronger and stronger the way Dominic did. Hey, yeah, we

(01:50):
picked John Cena. Our truth comes out at one point
in this match and he's like, yo, please don't punt
John Cena in the head. A lot of fans I
already thought this was an awkward moment.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
It was.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
It was a little awkward. I don't I don't know
if it was necessary. But he comes out and he's like,
come on, man, you don't want to do this. It's
John Cena. He's my hero. And Randy's like, you crazy
son of a bitch, get out of the ring. What
the hell's the matter with you? And he's like, no, no, no, man,
this guy is my idol. I love him so much. Well,
and then he gets our kale and he rolls out
of the ring, and then of course John Cena does

(02:21):
some dirty shenanigans and gets the win one two three, uh.
And then he had like a very sort of dare
I say actor moment after the match where he was
like distraught and conflicted with who he's become versus how
the audience was reacting to him because some boo but
some kind of love and appreciate him now, and you

(02:43):
could tell like he hates he hates you guys, right,
he hate not him really, but the character hates you
guys because you boot him and said you'd riot and
said he can't wrestle, and you didn't appreciate his title
run when it was a PG era, which you didn
you're all guilty of that. Don't act like you're not.
Now got this this vitriol, this hatred, and he's seething

(03:05):
sometimes in his promos and he calls it a dysfunctional relationship,
but you're the reason it's dysfunctional, not him, And you
could kind of see him going through it, man, and
it was pretty It was pretty cool to watch his
You know, he's always known how to act, but since
he's gone to Hollywood. It's certainly gotten better and he's improved,
and I just I thought he did a good job.

(03:25):
And some of you may be saying, because you remember,
like season one, like I thought you didn't like John Cena.
Wasn't he ad dick to you? He didn't like me.
I had no problem with him. He just didn't like me.
I like just about everyone. I can count on one
hand the amount of people where I'm like, I don't
like that guy, or I don't like that chick. But yeah,
I had no issue with him. I unlike the unlike
the rest of you, I appreciated it because I knew

(03:47):
what he had to sacrifice to be the PG champion.
You don't think he'd rather be a rated R champion
and get to do more grown up stuff. No, he
took it on the shoulders. Other dudes could have done it,
they didn't want it. He took it. He did it,
and he was Captain freakin America and a lot of
guys hated it, and now you love him. Just remember that,
so anyway, pretty good. He'll turn overall, maybe not the

(04:10):
biggest one ever. Probably Haul Coogan's was the biggest one ever.
But I think they're doing a great job with this.
Next up next. Oh and if you bet with us,
we made you money again this week. If you didn't
bet with us, you didn't make any money. If you
bet on your own, you lost money. Remember that United
States Championship. This might have been match of the night.
This was like epic Fatal four Way, which sometimes gets

(04:34):
too crowded, but WWE doesn't pretty damn well, and the
dudes in this match were sick. It was Jacob Fatu
the champ. I'm here and talk now. Oh he's being
pushed too fast. Oh he's not being pushed enough to
chill out. Let him book The show Man versus La
Knight versus Drew McIntyre versus Damian Priest. This match went

(04:55):
all over the arena. They got a great spot from
Drew mackinto hiring Damien Priest outside fighting in the crowd
and a big old what's this thing called? South of
South of Heaven? The Damien Priest hit it on, Drew
off this big like cargo thing and they smashed through
a table, both of them. They looked awesome, which gave

(05:17):
time to then focus in the for the finish of
the match. Everybody got to see Jacob Fatu win again
because Jeff Cobb from a DUB made his WWE debut.
He attacks La Night he pulls the ref out of
the ring. What a jerk you are, Jeff Cob. And
then Fatu hits the moon salt at what however much

(05:37):
he weighs three hundred and fifty pounds or whatever. It
is freaking moon salt when you're that big, it's just ridiculous.
He smashes La and Night one, two three, and the
crowd goes crazy, and then the internet goes crazy because
they don't like the result. But I think Jacob Fotu
is the shit and that dude's going to be headlining
WrestleMania one day. If you don't believe it, you will
not a yata I mean out how he says it.

(06:01):
I'm not good at it, but I like it anyway.
Moving on the Women's Intercontinental Championship match the champ Lyra Valkyria. Oh,
by the way, we also had Fatu winning, so we
got that one right as well. The Women's Championship. We
got this one wrong people. I'm sorry they're going to
give Lyra a longer push than I thought. I think

(06:24):
all wrestlers deserve a long time to get a push.
I think they make a lot of these wrestlers learn
on the fly. You can watch their development and growth,
which is really really tough to do, but Hollywood does
it too in TV and movies all the time. But
time is definitely an experience, definitely doesn't hurt. So they're
giving her a wonderful push. And this match was awesome.

(06:45):
They gave him a ton of time. Man, this was like,
it felt like a twenty five minute match, and they
went back and forth, and the story of the match
was Becky's lost to this girl once before. She was
zero and one, and she was convinced that she made
her an it just wasn't her night, and she was
gonna win now and there gonn only be one Irish
female wrestler on the roster and it's gonna be her,

(07:07):
God damn it. Then an awesome match for twenty five minutes,
and Becky won, we got it or Becky lost, we
got it wrong. She is zero to two, and so
the story is this is the girl that has her
number and how is she gonna beat this chick? And
I think that's nice and refreshing because I got it wrong.
I thought Becky would win. She doesn't lose that often.

(07:28):
But it's nice to see the over over over talent, right,
the talent that's so over you say it three times
on a podcast. It's nice to see them take anel
and do whatever they can do to get the next
generation or the next guy or the next girl over.
So this was a cool match for a multiple multitude
of reasons. It was awesome. I hate being wrong, I

(07:49):
hate being wrong. I hate losing you guys money. But
I think a lot of you sensed I was wrong
and you went the other direction. Moving on, Gonter versus
Pat McAfee not only called this match, we kind of
called how it was going to go down too, just
a regular old singles match. One guy was pissed off
at another guy because he tried to hurt his friend.

(08:10):
Noble reason to fight, old school reason to fight, And
we had mentioned last week, wouldn't it be nice if,
for once, the friggin' celebrity lost the match instead of
always having to put the celebrity that's making more money
than the wrestler already and is super rich and famous,

(08:30):
let's make him feel even better about themselves. No, damn it.
I've said it before, I'll say it again. The celebrity
should lose these matches, unless it's Mike Tyson. He was
a boxer, so he gets to knock you out. But
the celebrity should lose because they're not in their element.
They're not in there. If it's Bruce Lee, maybe do

(08:51):
you guys respect Jason Statham skills. Maybe Jason Statham wins.
You know, he gets the knockout punched the way Hugh
Jackman got it on Dolf back in the day when
he was doing that the Robot Boxer movie thing. I
don't remember the name of it, but I think he
should have probably gotten whooped up onto because these are
professional wrestlers. Man, they can take a shot, but every

(09:11):
time a celebrity hits them, all of a sudden, they
got glass jaws. So this was so refreshing because I
think Pat McAfee feels the exact same way, at least
his actions reflect that. And he went in there and
he gave him hell. He fought like hell, he battled
back from hell, and it just wasn't enough and he
fell victim to the sleeper and took a beat down.

(09:34):
But you know, he got a couple of licks in
which were good. He nailed him with a couple of potatoes.
Good ass match. It made gun Through look great after
losing the title. It makes him look dangerous and scary
and mean as hell because now Michael Cole hates him.
That was a great part of the story as well,
was Michael Cole. Before the match even started, he goes, look,
usually I'm professional as all get up, but not today.

(09:54):
Damn it. That's son of a bitch trying to choke
me out at my friend. Screw him. I'm rooting for
Pat McAfee, and all of us at home are like, yeah,
I go Michael Cole. We love Michael Cole. So that
match was awesome. We made you money on that, but
you didn't need our help for that one. Everybody knew
which way that one was going to go. Next step

(10:20):
the Intercontinental Championship match. We didn't give you guys a
prediction for this because of the day that we record this,
it hadn't been made yet. But Dominic Mysterio versus penta
pretty easy to bet on. If you were going to
bet on it, They're not just going to let Dom
win it and then lose it right away. Dom gets
some of the biggest reactions, not just in WWE, in

(10:40):
all of professional wrestling. They don't even just boo Now,
now the cheers and booze are equal. Eventually those cheers
are going to become stronger and stronger and stronger, and
he's going to become one of the biggest babyfaces in
the company unless they do something slick to get him
to turn him into you know, a little shit again.
But right now he's looking great. Penta's friggin man. I

(11:01):
was showing my daughter his walk out. She goes, oh
my god, he looks scary, and then she saw him
do his walk his actual walkout where he smiles, like,
watch how this fool just walks in like a true Pachuco,
like old school gangster and just walking stretton to the
friggin ring like a peacock. And she loved his walkout
and she goes, yo, she goes, he takes so long

(11:23):
to get to the ring. I said, yeah, man, he
takes his time. He makes a meal of it, which
is cool. I like that he stays patient with it.
And then he finally gets in the ring, and as
slow as his walkout is is the opposite. He wrestles
real fast. Just everything about him is cool. But he
had to lose Man. There's no way they could let
him win that match that soon, and it was good
to see the right guy win. Also Al Grande Americano,

(11:45):
which a lot of people are accusing Chad Gable of
being this guy, which is you don't know. You're just
making reckless accusations, the same way you guys make reckless
accusations about me online and say all kinds of horrible,
mean stuff. That's all this is you guys. You just
you hate Chad Gable because he's jacked and handsome, looking, good,

(12:06):
badass wrestler can get any gimmick over, so you hate
him for his greatness. It's like Kelly LeBrock in the eighties.
Don't don't hate me because I'm beautiful. Yeah, don't hate
Chad because he's beautiful. All right, he's not well, we
don't know. I'm not saying he is or he isn't.
I won't confer more deny, but he did. Heabutt Penta
with the steel plate behind the mask, and then Dominic

(12:28):
Kitta would have frogs blast for the win. So we'll
get to have a great contest or a little like
B story. I think with Chad Gable, Oops I said
it and Penta going back and forth. Chad Gable's amazing,
pent is amazing. Those matches are gonna be a ton
of fun moving on, John Cena. So who's next? They

(12:50):
had Randy Orton, Cody was vanquished and defeated. These have
been shady, shady wins. Who's gonna get the next match?
Or does Randy say, Dude, I got screwed worse than
anyone's been screwed in quite some time. What the f
give me a rematch. That's probably the easiest thing to

(13:12):
do is just let him run it back again like
they did back in the day. People might get tired
of that quick because people get tired of stuff more
quickly than they used to. In O nine I think
that was when they had their their big rivalry, oh
seven to nine something like that. So I'm not sure.
I don't think you can bring Cody back yet for it.
I fa Iwu has a belt and that would be

(13:33):
too fast, Like if they put him in scene and
then I would understand the criticism of him, him and
his storyline. It's not gonna be La Knight. It's not
going to be Damien because him and Drew still hate
each other and they are going to punch each other
in the face. It's not gonna be Seth because he's
focused on Jay. So I don't I don't know what

(13:55):
they're gonna do with John. They look their stories have
and really maybe not everyone agrees, but to my eyes,
their stories have been way better than they have been
in the past. They're doing long term storytelling most of
the time. Most of the time, the Becky Lynch story
was short form story. They did that in like three weeks,

(14:16):
but most of this is long form so it can
spread out not just over weeks, but over months, over
multiple pay per views. So they'll figure it out. I'm
not too worried about them, all right, you guys, We're
going to transition to something that most wrestling fans also like,

(14:39):
which is horror films. If you guys are loyal listeners,
I hope you're loyal.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
You know.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
I had to go to Australia for a little while,
but we kept broadcasting. Even from down Under. We were
still talking about me trying to put together a wrestling
a wrestling federation. Some of the Australians that were down
there were like, oh, you should check this out. Check out.
I just didn't have time because we were working on
the movie so much. But I did want to talk
about it, I know you did last summer and give you, guys,

(15:06):
not a sneak peek because you can't see anything but
a sneak listen and tell you a little bit about
what I can and share, you know, good news and
good stuff with you. I also have a horror podcast
if you guys are into horror crap, it's called that
Was Pretty Scary. You guys can listen to it same days.
It comes out, same day that these come out, every Wednesday.
My partner on that one is this dude, John Lee Brody,

(15:26):
who knows literally everything about every horror movie ever made.
I know, like a lot of things about like eighty
five percent of all the horror movies ever made. He
knows one hundred percent of one hundred percent. We're gonna do.
We've already started our season three now I think it's
season three, and we've already broken a million downloads. So
people are digging what we're doing, and you guys should

(15:47):
dig it too. If you're in a horror check us out.
My movie's called I note you did. Last summer, we
did an episode. I think our very first episode of
season one was on my experience on that movie because
I had never seen it until I watched it for
the pod. I don't like watching stuff where I know
how it's going to end. And I've read the script
of every movie I've been in, so I know how
they all end. But we I'll just kind of break

(16:08):
down the whole scenario. Like when this movie first they
first started talking about redoing it, I was out, like
I didn't have the best experience on the first movie.
The second was fine. I was contracted to do it,
but I was working on another movie at the time,
so they kind of had to like write me out
of it so that I could do double duty, or
actually we were wrapping late so that I could come

(16:29):
in late on the next one. I didn't have to
work double duty. I just went from one to the other,
and they had already started filming, so I didn't have
the emotional connection that maybe some of the other cast
members would have had, right because they had a better,
more positive experience than I did. I think, so when
my manager first brought it up, I was like, Oh,

(16:50):
that's an easy pass. I passed on the She's All
That remake. I thought that was not going to be cool.
I had read the script. I just didn't click with it.
And they were just trying to make it like a cameo,
Like it wasn't even going to be the same character,
and She's All that he was just going to be
like the principal I think it was. And they had
no money. They were like, hey, do this as a favor,

(17:11):
even though we didn't put any thought into it whatsoever,
And so I passed on it. It was it was
super easy, and I figured this would be the same thing,
like I don't want to do like a little cameo,
Like I love acting. I want to be, you know,
a part of the story. And they told him to
not even not even offer it, that I wouldn't do it.
Then almost a year goes by and my wife says, Hey,

(17:33):
our friend, we have this friend named Jen Robinson, really
good writer, really good director, and you should google her.
She's done a lot a lot of stuff that you've seen.
And she had just finished this movie with Sarah called
Do Revenge, which was on Netflix, and the casting in
that movie was brilliant and the look of it is awesome,

(17:53):
and the script was really cool. But when you see
the cast and you see like the level that they're
performing at giving their their age and lack of experience,
you're sitting there like what the holy shit? Man, Like,
who directed this? It's Jen Robinson. And so my wife says, Hey,
Jen's gonna write and direct or co write and direct.
I know you did last summer, and she wants to

(18:14):
pitch you. And I was like kind of conflicted because
I was like, man, I don't know, like if I
don't want to like make her feel bad because I
don't really want to do the movie. And she's like, well,
she has a cool idea and she wants to pitch
it to you. I was like, yeah, right, cool, it's
a friend. So I go and we have lunch at
this place called the Lazy Daisy Cafe, which is just

(18:35):
a hole in the wall cafe. They have good breakfast,
and we sit down and she pitches me the idea.
Now I can't tell you, guys the idea because I
don't ruin movies. I'm sitting there and I'm like, Yo,
this sounds pretty frigging cool, and I can tell you
our characters, mine and Loves. I shouldn't talk about Loves character,
but I'll say this, They're not cameos. These are significant

(18:55):
contributors to the story and to the motivation of the
other characters, which are the leads of the movie. We're
certainly in the supporting form and not the leads of it.
But it's not like, Hey, here he is, it's Ray
the Fisherman. Hey, it's not that. And so I'm listening
to the idea and I was like, Wow, that sounds
really good. And then she starts talking to me about

(19:16):
like who she wants in the movie, and I don't
know everybody she's mentioning. So now I'm going on deep
dives on IMDb, which is the Internet movie database. You
guys can check that out if you don't know about it.
Start watching some of these other movies, and I start
seeing like, you guys might not Chase. So we Wonder
from the Studio, which is a new show that just
got picked up for a second season. She's super talented.

(19:36):
This girl named Sarah Pigeon, super super talented, does a
lot of Broadway. Just was phenomenal in this movie. Everyone
was so depth, had so much depth. And then Maddie
from outer Banks. And when my daughter found out that
she was in this movie. My daughter loves outer Banks.

(19:57):
It's a show on Netflix. She went, Nanas, I had
no idea who Maddy was. I don't watch out her Banks.
I'm forty nine years old. I'm a bit out of
the demographic. So my daughter goes, you got to watch
the scene, and she shows me this scene where Homegirl's
breaking down big time, and I'm watching this S Girl.
I'm like, Dad, this is how old is this? Check man?
She's so much better than I was at that age.

(20:20):
And I've gotten better, but back then I was not
as good as I wanted to be. I worked hard,
but I didn't have the experience that everyone else had,
So I was always frustrated with my performances until I
got much much older and kind of started to figure
things out and learned how to be more vulnerable on
camera and make things more organic and stop manufacturing emotion
but just allowing emotion to exist, like more high level

(20:43):
things like that. It just took me a while to learn.
But I'm watching the S Girl and she's just killing
it and it's high high level. I was like, holy shit, man,
Like this girl's going to crush in this movie. So
fast forward. I say, yes, we worked the deal out.
Love says yes, they work their deal out. The movie's
a green light. We all go. We make this movie
in Australia and Los Angeles. It's shot in two different locations,

(21:05):
and so we get to Australia. I'm there by myself.
I had shot Scooby Scooby Doo in Australia, I hadn't
shot in Sydney. We shot in the Gold Coast. Sydney's
one of the greatest cities in the world. It's awesome.

(21:27):
I don't work every day. I'm gonna have fun. My
family's coming out in like a week, so I want to,
you know, know my way around town and show them.
I find all the best restaurants, find fun stuff to do.
They have this aquarium that they're gonna let our kids
interact with some of the some of the creatures. They're
not like touch them or anything like that, but like
help feed them that kind of stuff. They're also like,
meet a koala bear, that kind of crow. I want

(21:48):
to meet a kawa. You know, you want to meet
a freaking koala bear. Fruity, They're dangerous. They have chlamydia whatever.
These ones seemed like they were clean. Nobody caught anything.
So we go down there and we start shooting, and
I get to see this director Jen Robinson sort of
in her in her natural habitat right, like she was
meant and born to do this. This was I think

(22:10):
the big I think the biggest budget movie she had directed.
She had written some Marvel movies and done a lot
of work for them, but she hadn't directed one. So
she comes in here and her shots are awesome and
the look of the movie is beautiful. The dead bodies,
I'm a big mark. That's a wrestling term, you guys
know that for practical effects over digital effects. I love

(22:35):
seeing fake corpses. I love seeing fake blood. I love
seeing how they squirt it out of the wounds when
someone gets stabbed. I have to say I was a
little snobbish because I was like, well, I'm friends with
some of the best, you know, corpse makers in America.
Let's see how Australia does, y'all. I'm not gonna say
who it was because it'll ruin the movie. But I

(22:56):
walked up to one of the actors who's in there
death pose, and I literally go, I'm gonna make up
a name. We're gonna call him Joshua. And I go, Joshua,
josh dude, how are you? I was gonna say, how
are you holding so still? And I literally was like,
holy shit. And I turn around and Joshua, for purposes

(23:20):
of this story, is not Joshua. He is a lifelike.
And when I say lifelike, I mean I thought it
was the dude. And he's sitting there, dead and displayed
for everyone to see. And I'm the only one that
doesn't know because I was last, the last one there,
and I literally went up to the director. I was like, Yo,
these are the best dead bodies I've ever seen in
my life. And they really are. Like the movie's so scary,

(23:44):
it's so gross when it's supposed to be. It has
a couple laughs, but it's definitely not a horror comedy.
It just has like a couple like two or three
moments where you're like, oh shit, that's a cool throwback
or oh my god, she told him like that kind
of thing. But other than that, it's very reminiscent of
I Know what you did. It very reminiscent of Scream.
Even a couple of little moments that kind of reminded

(24:05):
me of the faculty when they were all together. I
don't know if you guys remember that movie, but it's
a really cool flick and Sinners kind of kind of
took some inspiration from that too in the last act
of Sinners. You guys should check that movie out too.
They used to check out every horror movie, but you
definitely check out that one and mine. Thank you very much.
And yeah, man, I had an absolute blast on this.
The cast executes at such a high level. The horror

(24:28):
is exactly where I love it. And I'm not a
horror snob, but I do consider myself an officionado. I
do feel like I know I know good horror from
bad horror, and I don't mean bad horror based on budget,
I mean like poorly executed horror, and I don't like that.
I don't give love to every single horror movie that
I've ever seen. Yeah, man, I just I can't. I

(24:49):
really want you guys to see this movie. We worked
so frigging hard on it. The director did such a
good job. I'm really proud of my work in this,
and I had a ton of fun with the stuff
that I got to do in the movie. But when
you see this next generation and how well it's this
movie's cast. That's all Jen Robinson. These are all her picks.
These are all her selections. And I really think that

(25:11):
