Speaker 1 (00:00):
What is up? Everyone? This is not Freddy Prince Jr.
But this is producer Alex in the house right now
alongside Jeff. Freddy's not filming, so we're gonna be your
make shift tag team. Just first name, Jeff, ye Jacket,
Jeff Die. We gotta give him Jack pod Doe. We
(00:20):
gotta get him the huge.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Yeah, you gotta channel you're inner. Paul Hammers, you know
you can't just go And I'm with Jeff, No, no,
it's not.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Everyone everyone knows it's not.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Just continue my fearless leader, and.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
We'll also get into Halloween and uh what Jeff may
be dressed up as and as Freddy would say, let's
start the damn show.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
And now your main event, introducing the hosts Wrestling Win Freddy,
Jeff Died and Freddy Prince.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Jeff. I have a question for you man. You said
last week you know that you didn't like makeshift tag teams.
Well that's what we are right now. Are we going
to be introduced as a full unit with intro music?
Are we each going to come in with our own
intro music into this fight? Here?
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Me and you doing this podcast together makes me so happy.
I reference you every episode I got producer Alex said this,
I'm always trying to bring you into the the eye
fold of the breaking the fourth wall. But if we
were in wrestling, I'd say, yeah, what the hell are
they doing? But I think that you're such a part
of the tag team that it would be kind of
(01:51):
like me coming to the ring with our manager or something.
So I don't think that this counts as It's not
like you're from Sasquatch Chronicles podcast and we're tag up
today because Freddy's gone. You're part of this podcast. You
are this podcast. You're the heart of the podcast. You're
not the star of the podcast. Freddy's the star, but
you're the heart, you're the manager, you're the mascot. And
(02:12):
so so I don't think that this would be the
same time.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
I like that done. You see, this is why you're
here because you just know how to put things very
well together. All right, Jeff, you survived Halloween? How was it?
Did you dress up? What's going on? Tell us all
about it.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Anyone who knows a lot about me, maybe that listens
to my podcast or knows me from other than this podcast,
knows I never shut up about October. It's my favorite month.
My most eventful things, whether I'm getting in trouble and
arrested was in October, or whether I'm having fun and
making core memories. As in October, Baseball is at its
funnest because we got playoffs and World Series in October.
(02:50):
Halloween is always fun. It's a good single guy holiday,
you know, like it's fun for little kids, it's fun
for families, it's fun for single guys. And then you've
got NBA is kicking up, and October in the NFL,
like nobody's team's out, nobody's team's in, so it's still
like kind of a fun time for fantasy, a fun
time for football. So I am a huge October guy. Plus,
(03:11):
I just love that season. I love this season. Pumpk
spice lattes also killer. I went to Hollywood Horror Nights
at Universal Studios one night, and then I went to
the Dark Harbor, the Queen Mary's Dark Harbor, which is
down in Long Beach, California, which is just kind of
like Hollywood Horror Nights, but on mood it was very
(03:31):
very cool, very exciting. I didn't dress up as anything
because all the Halloween festivities that I did didn't require
a costume. So I do feel crummy about that because
I love dressing up.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
You have had a long history of dressing up. I've
seen you as carrat Top the Miz.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
The first time I met the Miz, I go, you know,
I dressed up as you as Halloween on Halloween and
he's like, all right, and then I like showed him
a bit. He couldn't have cared less, like he thought
I was the biggest loser in the world world, and
I was disappointed at his lack of enthusiasm about it,
which I think I've been carrying ever since I met him,
because I thought that'd be like a really cool, like
(04:09):
what's up man, I'm comedian Jeff Dye and I'm a
big wrestling fan. I even dressed up as you as
I thought that would be like I don't know if
that would be buddies or something. But he didn't care
at all.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
M's Friend of the Show has been part of the
Wrestling with Freddie guest lists. If you're listening to this,
we don't have to bring you back, and you know,
maybe give Jeff here a little love. I mean, the
man went all the way. I mean, you were even
holding the title in that photo, you looked exactly like him.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
I had the whole thing. Yeah. And also I'm like
a little kid. You know, it doesn't take much, man,
It's just touss on my hair and go, what a
nice costume.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
And before we get into the show, I do as
we're talking about Halloween here where you know, did you
were you a big trick or treaty? Did you do
the door to door thing? I see, like, is it
maybe we see less and less of that or are
we just not living in the right neighborhoods.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
I didn't do a lot of tricker treating. We were
like broke. The neighbors were like, just turn the lights
off and not have any candy or anything like. And
then the parents weren't like, let's drive you to these
rich neighborhoods like I hear everyone talk about. Uh So,
like Halloween for us was always less about the candy
and more about the cost cut it. You know, what
are we gonna wear to school? Or how am I?
(05:14):
And we weren't very creative back then. It was always
like a ghost or a hobo. Like one time I
just wore a Deon Sanders jersey and I just put
blood all over myself, it didn't even make sense. And
then also it got blood on the Deon Sanders Jersey.
So now my parents are mad at me, and I like,
I've now now I'm always bloody Deon no matter where
I go.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
So it's got bloody Dion. That's gonna be something that
I'm gonna have to uh incorporate here on the show
for you for me as well. Like man, Halloween is
probably one of my favorites as well because it is
also the beginning of the holiday season and whatnot. And
I grew up loving WCW. So w CW had Halloween
havoc back in the day, so you know, they had
some really great matches Hogan, Randy Savage Goldberg that you
(05:55):
know DDP sting Hogan, Like, did you did you grow
up being, like as me, a lover of WCW pay
per views or were you not into WCW. Were you
more leaning towards WWF.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
I was super into WCW. I actually, for a while
there liked WCW a lot better because it felt it
had all those guys. I guess maybe what Ted Turner
and Eric Bischoff and all those guys were trying to
do worked on me because it was like Hogan's here,
Like I was maybe young enough that I didn't see
them as like old, washed up wrestlers that were just
(06:27):
coming over for more money. I saw it as like
Brett Hart Lex Luger, like every time some new person
that I had known before. I guess what I'm saying
is I was at the intellectual level then that these
wrestling fans are now. Every time the one goes to
ae W and they go, oh, but I hated him
last week on this show, and now I love him
(06:50):
on this show. I was doing that I love when
I was a kid, and that made me really love WCW.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
I love that you mentioned that because it's one hundred
percent what happened. Yeah, it's exactly what's happening right now.
So yeah, let's move right into all of this all
the time WW Saturday Night's main event to just do
the card as we always do here. We have very
storyline driven at wrestling with Freddy, so that's something that
we like to continue even though Freddy's not here. We'll
talk a little bit about what happened during the matches too.
(07:15):
Like you know, there's some good finishes and false finishes
that went on, let's start off for Cody Rhodes, defeeding,
defeeding Drew McIntyre Rhodes, I'll tell you what man he
is putting in the work. He is putting in the work.
This match had a ton of false finishes to keep
the crowd hyped. We had that one knee spot with
(07:37):
Cody where he was teasing his injury. We had referees
getting squashed around in the ring. But most importantly, Jeff,
we had Cody once again giving us some hints maybe
not sure of, kind of like his helish side. Did
you notice Dad, when he had McIntyre ready for DDT
the title was on the ground and he kind of
looked like he was staring at the ref a little
(07:59):
bit before he gave him the DDT on the title
Did you suspect that or was he just Hey, I
didn't know the title was there.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
I didn't even notice it till the entire internet went
like wild about it, like everybody going, oh my gosh,
there's a heel in there. Like a ton of people
were disappointed with it. I have a few thoughts. I
don't think Cody's turning heel. I just don't think it's
gonna happen. I also don't want it to happen. I
also love and I agree with what you said that, like,
(08:27):
Cody is putting in the work. This is what a
star does, this is what a champion does. He's so good,
he's so good, he's there all the time, he's a
full time champs. He's doing all the right things. I
love everything that the Cody Rhoades chapter is giving us.
I really really really really like it, and I'm here
for it and I hope that he's champed forever because
(08:49):
it's just that good. In my opinion. That being said,
man Drew McIntyre seems to be pretty buried. I know
that's a championship match that he got, but this guy
is also a star. He should also be in these
like he should be in every storyline. I don't know
if there's a solution to the WWE problem that we have.
(09:10):
If you want all the wrestlers right, Like, I'm a
big Mortal Kombat guy, I want every I want to
be able to select every fighter that's ever been in
Mortal Kombat. I want the biggest roster possible. Now, I
think with wrestling fans, I think were the same way
we want all the wrestlers. But the problem is you
can't make a belt for every three wrestlers, and you
can't are a championship, and you can't make a storyline
(09:34):
for every one of those guys being the top storyline
when you have just too much talent. I think that's
what we're witnessing. You know, they release a guy, everyone
loses their mind, and they bring the guy back. Remember
Ron killing God? Remember our truth? We everybody going, where's
he go? What happened? You can't do this to him?
He comes back, he has this huge like moment with Sina,
(09:56):
and then it's just gone. It's just done. On TV
with Drew McIntire, just disappeared for four months, just out
of the main and he didn't fully disappear, but he
wasn't in the main storyline. He just would not be
on episodes of things. And so I guess I don't
know the solution to the WWE roster problem, but I
think we gotta get Drew McIntyre. We got to get
(10:17):
Damian Priest, We gotta we gotta get these these stars
back up and figure out a way to give them more. Uh.
That being said, I don't think it's by letting him
beat Cody, and I was happy to see the way
that match went.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Do you feel that this latest run by Cody with
the title does it feel repetitive or is it or
is it fresh? Like we've seen him and Drew kind
of go at it in the past, right, So, like
for you personally, do you feel like there is more
for Cody to do or are we kind of like
in a lull because there isn't as many like people
(10:50):
coming up to get that title from him.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
I mean maybe that's how you feel. Is that how
you feel?
Speaker 1 (10:55):
I feel a little bit like it. Yeah. I feel
like like Cody Cody Star is so ginormous that I
feel like sometimes anyone else who kind of goes after
him gets lost in the shuffle away from the storyline,
and then like he's kind of just left there and
then other people that have already fought him come back
and say, now, man, that's my title. I want to
come back to it.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Have they ever done a thing I wouldn't? I haven't
noticed that, but uh, that makes total sense if that's
how you feel about the Cody Roads. Has there ever
been like a storyline in wrestling where the champ like
like Let's say Cody Roads loses to Drew back and
tire on Saturday, and then on Monday night Raw Drew
(11:32):
wins it back, or then Cody wins it back and
then literally like he's so furious and riled up that
two weeks later at the next pay per view, Cody
wins it back and it just keeps going back and forth.
Do they all or does it always have to be
some long rain, like, oh, he had it for a month,
he had it for three months, he had it for
a year. Like what if they made it so that
(11:54):
we are brains in wrestling, were like, dude, anyone could
win at any time, because we don't think like that anymore.
Like when I was a little kid, I thought like
that because I was naive. I didn't even know that
this shit was written. But what, but like, it would
be kind of cool if they could make our brains go, man,
anything is possible with this. He lost the belt on
Raw last week and then won it right back, and
(12:16):
next week it an elimination chamber or whatever. So I
wonder if they've ever done that, and if they could,
that might keep things fresh.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
I honestly feel like that has happened with other titles.
And then I love that idea of the fact that
you know, we're having a real champions battle at our
hands here, you know who's gonna get, you know, the
final win and really to the top, make it to
the top of the mountain. At the same token, Jeff,
we might just see the Internet explode and implode because
(12:45):
they'll see this title flip flopping so many times that
you know, unfortunately the wrestling community will be like this
is this title now loses its value because we're just
flip flopping it over and over again. But storytelling, for
anyone who really loves wrestling, that would be a cool
thing to have someone just go toe to toe to toe. Man,
we see it in a seven game series which we'll
get to an unsanctioned Thursdays with like Los Angeles and
(13:08):
Toronto going back and forth. Why can't we do that
in wrestling?
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Well, and they kind of heal turn every two weeks anyways,
even this conversation is like, oh do you think Cody's
gonna heal to? It's like, oh, Jay usso, is he
gonna now be a heel? It's like they switch these
heels and faces so often, and some of them are
like these murky gray like we don't even know if
they're a heel or a face. So it's like, I
don't see why you couldn't do that with one of
(13:31):
the straps. I think it'd be awesome.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
True. True. So as far as predictions goes, all three
of us picked Cody. So we made everyone some money,
as Freddy would say, So everyone got themselves a little
move lie in their pockets. Before we wrap up this
Cody talk here, I want to talk to you real
quick and ask who is next for Cody? Like we
just kind of speculated a little bit or whatnot, but
(13:53):
what is next for him? Because our last pay per
view will be Survivor series because we don't that he
doesn't hold a pay per view in the month of
December any longer. So is this something that he just
doesn't defend again until January? Or like I mean, I
haven't seen anyone step up, have you?
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Who would be some candidates because I think jay Uso
goes back to being a tag team because that's what
he should have been the entire time. I think l A.
Knight's coming for CM punk you were saying earlier, I
didn't degree disagree or agree necessarily was the Drew McIntyre thing.
This story's somewhat been told. Who do you feed to Cody?
Speaker 1 (14:41):
I'm with you, I'm with you. Do we continue running
it back with Drew? Drew such a such a heel though.
I love his tactics. I love how he uses Twitter.
I love how he makes like he was talking with
like back and forth with Brandy Rhodes, you know, like
it's just she's making fun of him and they're going
back and forth. I think he has the it factor
(15:01):
when it comes to being a great storyteller. But I
don't think, like you mentioned, man, I don't think we
see Cody lose this bell anytime soon.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
That's good though, I'm happy about that.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
Next up, we had Jade Cargile and she went up
against Tiffany Stratton. Jeff, you have mentioned on this show
multiple times, as I said, behind the scenes, how you
felt about Tiffany and her reign. Now we know she's
had some ups on this rain, but it kind of
(15:32):
got stagnant for a while. Tell me how did you
feel when you saw this match? And hell, we'll just
get right into it. Jade Cargill going over and becoming
your new WW Women's Champion.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
I'm here for it. I've been as long as I've
known of Jade Cargill's existence in ae W, I was like,
this is what I'm always talking about. I'm always saying,
why are the men big giants freaks? And the girls
are just pretty models? And Jay Cargill is strong, like
like the you see Jay Cargill in a match and
(16:07):
you believe in your brain that is someone who could
beat someone up. You don't just go she's really pretty,
no disrespect. But a lot of these female wrestlers are
just really beautiful, modelish looking women. That's no disrespect. If
anybody loves beautiful modelish women, it's me. I just it
takes you out of the story sometimes when they're doing
(16:29):
like a you know, a move, or like I don't
really find five feet of Bliss that intimidating. I think
she's cool and interesting and attractive, but I could tell
a good story and turns out to be one hell
of a wrestler. But visually, if I saw her walking
down an alley, I'm not afraid of her. And so
Jade Cargill has the body, she has, the attitude, she's
(16:51):
got the whole thing where you're like, I believe this
woman could beat all these girls up. I say the
same for Rhea Ripley. Now, So to watch her finely
kind of come along and earn a lot of wrestling
fans respect not all the wrestling fans, but a lot
of the wrestling fans she's paid her dues over the
last few years. There's always gonna be the people that
like said, oh, she could be better or she needs
to do whatever, but like it's okay, yes, she's gonna
(17:13):
get better. So this was very, very exciting to see.
I think it was awesome. She did great.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Yeah, tough match. Jade shows that her power and strength
is all there while improving. We here at the show,
we're big Cargo fans, big Cargo phones since Harry w
days as the TBS champion. Good to see her earned
this title. We all predicted Cargo to go over, so
we once again made people money, a big, strong presence
in the ring and out. I'm gonna ask you this.
(17:39):
You know, this will be kind of like a little
bit of a thing here for these next two matches
that are coming up. But now she's the champion, where
do we go with her? Do we see someone like
a Bianca bell Air come back. Ria Ripley's busy doing
something else, right.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
I think Bianca bell Air is a perfect matchup for
this because there's nobody more face than beyond Air. Everyone
loves her. She also fits into that little rant that
I was doing about believable body types, like she's strong
and capable, and she's she has a built in weapon
on her, like like that hair thing is so awesome,
Like that is such a great idea. I'm surprised no
(18:16):
one ever did it first, Like it's it's so good.
So I think that's a perfect matchup. That is like
a dream match that everyone would, you know, or dream
feud that people would definitely book in their minds. My
question for you is what do you think is the
future for Tiffany Stratton? Because I never expected Tiffy Time
to last this long. No disrespect to Tiffany Stratton, but
(18:40):
I have been somewhat of a naysayer. I've been kind
of a hater about Tiffy Time. What's happening? Is it over?
Is Tiffy Time over? Or is this just the beginning?
Speaker 1 (18:51):
I think that in order for to kind of like
refresh her, we're gonna we were bound to see this happen.
She they invested in her as a young talent to
kind of see her come up and see what she
can do with with the rain. Right with the title,
I think they're doing the same thing with Jade, which
is great. The Women's division kind of likes to plug
in younger talent to see where they go. So I'm
(19:11):
I'm gonna sit back and wait. I think that she
will be involved in a lot of different types of
matches for Jade. I think we're gonna see people like
Nia Jacks come up and kind of start beef, you know,
and kind of like see these false alerts of like
maybe Jade will lose it to someone, right, But I
think that's for Tiffany. She's just gonna have to go back,
(19:33):
you know, into the drawing board and see where she's
gonna how she comes back up how Because honestly, Freddy
says it all the time, Right, you lost the title?
How do you come back from this? How do you
react now that you lost?
Speaker 2 (19:46):
This is tough especially, and you can cut this from
the episode if you want. But I watched NXT for
the first time like two and a half weeks ago, Alex,
I have never seen so many. Tiffany Stratton's the locker
room had seventy five beautiful, strong, Everyone had their own
(20:11):
little personality. I was like, there's nine million women coming
for this, Like there's a gold rush of female wrestlers,
and there is women all over the world now just
entering into pro wrestling the way that like every man
just watches wrestling. There is a girls going. I used
to play sports and there's not pro sports for me
(20:32):
to get into, and now they just are entering into
pro wrestling. So Tiffany Stratten, any of these other female
they should be booting ut like lacing up their boots
and getting ready for the for the cavalry.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
XT is getting it. Has a ton of talent. They're
signing even more, and like you mentioned, there's no pro
sports right now outside of WNBA for a lot of
these female talent that are like that love being physical
and fighting, and you don't want to join UFC. So yeah,
I want him.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
Think about all the gymnasts, think about all the girls
who are already in mixed martial arts and they're like, hey,
this kind of is not really the lifestyle for me
or the financially as much. So you could just go
be a star and mix acting with with your physical prowess,
like there's no reason not to. And somebody opened that
door because it is. I watched it exteen. I was like,
(21:25):
who's that one? Who's that one? Holy crap, who's that one?
Like I was just they were all like gorgeous women
who were.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Very good, very good. Indeed, they We're not ever gonna
have any shortage of people wanted to be poor wrestlers.
This is such a great fun thing to do as kids.
You grow up watching and then you go ahead and
do it. Let's move on to this thriple threat with
Dirty Dom. Mysterio one of the favorites here, and Jeff,
we'll get into more of him with you, cause I
love your takes on him. Who defeated Penta Elro and Russev.
(21:55):
By the way, this is great for Mysterio and I'll
tell you why it keeps mist elevated. Right. We have
been fans of Mysterio here. Jeff, you've had your thoughts
about Mysterio having to level up in the past. How
do you feel about him right now where he stands.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
I think he's one of the best wrestlers in pro wrestling.
Out of any of the at of any time or history.
Like what Dominic Masterio is doing is perfect. He's married
the past to give us our kind of nostalgic thing.
So at all times, you're thinking about his dad because
his name, you're thinking about, uh Eddie Guerrero, you know
his uncle, so you've got that tied to the nostalgic past. Also,
(22:35):
I don't know if maybe this is just me getting
carried away, but he feels old school. He does old
school things, and so that also nostalgic when you're watching him.
He's doing like little old school things that the new
wrestlers aren't. They don't even have in their sensibilities or
their wrestling vocap So I love that about him. I'll
(22:55):
give an example of like an old school thing to
like just make up a moniker for yourself, like the
King of the Luchadors. Like it's such a perfect heel thing,
like to just be that young and not wear a
luchador mask and still call yourself the King of Lucers
and then be pals with Elgrande Americano like to like
those kind of things are just so old school and great.
(23:17):
I think he's I think he's the best. The way
he's winning is perfect. I don't know. I just think
everything he's doing is top sholf.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
And to add on to what everything you just said,
he's a legacy kid, right. His dad is a big
Efen name, his uncle is a big Efen name, the
mysterial family, that legacy is there, and for him to
have been able to separate himself from that legacy is important.
When you're a kid in this industry, you will always
get tied back to what your dad did or your
(23:45):
mom or whatever. So I think he's done a perfect
job of being able to to separate. Dnnis stand on
his own two feet. Really good match between these guys.
They show levels of a lot of lucha lib with
Benta and Mysterio against each other. Had Rusp being in
there as the heavy, so he took a lot of
the blunt hits. One of the things you see him
(24:06):
scare of that kid? Yeah, yeah, man, he's he's so
good though, isn't he believable? Like you see him in
the street.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
He's I texted him, you did, I said, say, you scaring?
That kid was gold? And I thought that I couldn't
tell if he maybe like misunderstood or something. He's like,
he shouldn't have been reaching over because the kid like
touched him. Yeah, And I was trying to say no,
I thought it was hilarious. I'm not I'm not criticized.
I think it's great. That's what you want to be
when you go to a wrestling event. That kid will
remember that forever and we'll all remember it's on video.
(24:34):
But those are very like core childhood memories. You touched
the big wrestler and he goes, oh, dought right, and
then like you get like scared, like that's I should
have get him amochka kid.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
It's funny because you have had that experience with the
wrestlers touching him. Freddie has had that experience with you know,
reaching out and touching Ultimate Warrior and having all the
sweat all over his body, you know, in baby Oil.
So you guys have had that, have had that story together,
which is pretty cool mysterial. Like you mentioned going old
school with the trying to do the light and cheat
(25:04):
with the with the chair and the ring and the
refs like what are you doing, bro? Like this is
you know this qualification match?
Speaker 2 (25:10):
He handed the weapon right, yeah?
Speaker 1 (25:12):
Yeah, yeah. By the way, Russev is a beast in
the ring. He held his own. There was the when
Penta did the Penta Driver on him and Russav just
kind of just float around and did it with him.
That was like, I was like, man, this dude is
nimble on his feet. For a big guy. You kind
of forget, man, how good he is. We weren't able
(25:33):
to pick this one because this was this match was
made after we recorded. But I'm but watching the match,
and when I saw the card finally being put together,
I had predicted Dom's not going anywhere Penta right now
is is I don't think he's gonna really get to
the level that we want him to until him and
Ray Phoenix are together. And with Russev, I feel like
(25:56):
maybe right now they're just trying to figure out the
pieces for him where he fits and in storyline. So
but with Dom, I was like, yeah, Dom comes away
with this one. How did you feel when you saw it?
Speaker 2 (26:06):
I would have picked if we would have been asked
this like and if this was a match in time
and we'd have been asked this on air, I would
have definitely picked Penta because earlier when I was saying
like how things are unpredictable or like how I'm always
craving that wrestling would do what we aren't able to predict.
They've added an element of me thinking that maybe they'll
take a belt off of Dom because he has two.
(26:29):
So in my mind I was like, well, maybe because
he has the Triple A that belt, and so I
did think that maybe that could happen. I would have
predicted that, but I'd have been wrong. But I'm fine
with two belt Dom, and I just I just want
all three of those guys in that match. I'm a
little conflicted. I love Russif, I love Penta, and I
love Dom, so I'd have been happy no matter what.
But I would have tried to be the the what's
(26:52):
that called. I would have taken a Hail Mary and
picked Penta to win that, and I'd have been wrong
and lost.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
You guys, mind, it's all right. I mean, he's been
one of my favorite since I started watching him in
aw along with Ray Phoenix. So I hope and it's
not true that they just don't put him back together,
attacked him and he finally gets some you know, solid
gold around his waste on his own and with Russev,
I kind of felt like I really enjoyed his mirror
persona in aw a little bit more than I do
the Russ persona, So I hope he like kind of
(27:18):
brings a little bit more because he had a little
bit more character as Miro for some reason. With Russev,
he's the brute, which is cool, he's beating you up,
but I like to see the other side of him
as well, where he's kind of like, you know, able
to portray more of who he is.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
He definitely needs something, and I think the same thing
with Penta. They need to do a storyline that really
explores and teaches the wrestling audience that mask and the
story of being Penta and embracing that demon. Like if
everyone knew that story, that would be such a I
(27:52):
think it could be a really popular storyline, and it
kind of explores into that paranormal realm that we are
lacking since Bray has passed, and since we've been lacking
since Undertaker has retired and Kane has retired. Let's get
more of that stuff. And I think pent is your guy.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
I love that because Penta had that, you know, when
he did that the red Settle Yellow character in a
w where he came out and he was just pissed
at the world with the fire and the war.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
There are people in Mexico who believe that he will
die wearing that mask. There are people who believe that
it is cursed and that like and that like he
is a fool for wearing that mask because of the
history of it. So teach people that history give him
his comeuppings for being brave enough to embrace the mask.
And then if he does end up dying wearing that mask,
(28:42):
God forbid or something, the legacy continues. I mean, like,
if he gets some career ending injury and half of
Mexico goes, it's because he's wearing that mask. Like, that's
an interesting story.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
Sure, I love that's And there we go storytelling. So
let's talk about the World heavyweight title, which was vacant.
See m Punk going up against someone that you're not
very fond of, but you know, we still give them
their love jay Usso there was definitely no yeating after this.
(29:15):
After this match, people were chanting the he's complete opposite.
Now we have a new winner, new top title era
here with cmpunk. It kind of resets the world title
picture with you know, Seth being hurt before we get
into this, Jeff, who would you like to have in
that match outside of jay us So if you had
(29:37):
to replace Jusu, I felt like, in my heart, you
would have loved for La Knight to be in there
because he's kind of lost, man, Like, I don't know
how much time he has left, But how do you feel?
Speaker 2 (29:48):
Like?
Speaker 1 (29:48):
Who did you want it in there?
Speaker 2 (29:49):
L A Knight? Okay, I'm disgusted that it wasn't l
A Knight. Like La Knight and CM Punk have this
great thing going. It's very believable that they don't seemed
to for whatever reason, like that flare up. I don't
know if it's very good acting, if there's even like
maybe a sliver of truth in it. Whatever it is,
it does feel like this young guy who doesn't respect
(30:12):
his veteran.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Locker room.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
Yeah, buddy, like it definitely. It feels like that. It
feels like there's tension between these guys. That's very believable. Now,
I want to correct myself and say that it's not
that I don't like jay Uso. It's like it's it's
like my buddy, I love my buddy, Randy Valerio with
all my heart he's one of my favorite people. But
if he was running for president, I wouldn't vote for him.
(30:38):
And that's the same thing. It's like, I don't hate
Jay Uso, he's just not main event. Jay. You can't
call yourself your tag team. Jay, you were born a
tag team, like you were born with Jimmy Usso, like
you guys are a duo. That's how that works. It's
how we know you. It's what you are. And he's
trying to be something he isn't. And I think that
(31:01):
like we kind of bought into it for a minute, like, oh,
maybe Jay could do this, and it didn't work. The
mic work is lacking, the wrestling is lacking. He basically
became a shop stick, you know, Oh oh, look at
my glasses and look at my shirts and look at
(31:21):
my thing. It's like we don't care, No one cares.
And he goes, I'm not just an entrance. Well, the
last few years you've been just an entrance, and it's
no disrespect. Go back to what made you great. When
we used to see the ussos come out for tag
team matches, it was on because the Jay Uso and
Jimmy Usso and the Usos are one of the greatest
tag teams that have ever lived. But this whole jay
(31:42):
Uso whining and crying and wanting to be the big
dog is tired, and we just I don't see him
as that guy, and I think a lot of people
don't see him as that guy.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
Before we end the show, I want to know, do
you think he is a transitional champion? Because the Sharks
are circling. You still got bron Breaker, you still have
brock Lesner, Seth Rollins will be back in six months,
right around WrestleMania. Right you have his old advocate, Paul Hayman,
who can lyrically break him down anytime he wants. So
(32:12):
your thoughts is where do is he a transitional Does
he hold it on till Mania? Then and in between
he just has his little matches where he defends it
and whatnot? Your thoughts on that.
Speaker 2 (32:22):
I think he'll hold it for a long time. I
think he is a phenomenal wrestler. He's a phenomenal veteran.
He knows what he's doing, he's professional when he chooses
to be. And I think that also he's such a star.
I mean when I go plays, I see CM punk
stuff all the time. All the circles I keep I
see the most merch is like CM punk stuff. I
(32:45):
think that he's good in all those categories, So I
think you keep it on him for a long time.
I would love to see an La Night CM punk story.
I just remembered when earlier in the show when you
were asking me who they should feed to Cody is like,
I think a Brock or we could have a Drew
McIntyre brock feud would be good to those two big
(33:07):
tyrants going against each other. But that's from what we
were talking about earlier. But yeah, I think I think
CM punk keeps it for a while, at least tell WrestleMania,
I think it's good. I'm wondering if there would be
an injury or if they that he'll have to like
give the match. I mean, he'll maybe he'll do some
grandiose retirement where he just kind of like what. So
I don't know how it's going to shake down, but
(33:27):
I think if I'm in that front office of WWE,
I keep the belt on him for a long time
because he is I mean, as much as I just
criticized him, he is he is the guy.
Speaker 1 (33:37):
So yeah, I think that maybe having him do this
final lap and in this final run as champion and
then kind of just sets off and starts bringing up
the newer talent as he definitely wants to do and
help the company accomplish. I think that's a great deal.
So yeah, that was That was a great take by you. Again,
this is one of the matches that we did pick,
so all of us chose cm Punk to win this
match and guess what, he's champion, and we made you
(34:00):
even more money if you guys, always pay attention here
at wrestling with Freddy, Jeff Freddy, they do some incredible picks.
I just throw myself in there as well sometimes and
it's like if I have the booking pencil. Sometimes I
pick them all right. Sometimes I just go the opposite away.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
But I feel like you pick it correctly more than I.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
I try. Jeff, I definitely try, and sometimes it's just
common sense. Other times it's just like what was I thinking?
But this was our very first show together, Jeff. We're
going to be doing this two more times at least
until the Thanksgiving weekend. You and Freddy kind of just
take the reins again. Freddy's away, Like I mentioned before,
filming a film which will probably maybe he'll send us
a voice note or something and we'll insert it into
(34:40):
the show and see what he's up to. Yeah, it'd
be cool. We're very excited about Yeah, shout out to him.
Speaker 2 (34:45):
Man.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
Work is great. Stay tuned because on our Thursday show
on Sanction, we're diving into the highs and the lows
of professional wrestling right now. It's like in a weird limbo.
We want to know what's going on with ticket pricing,
and we'll talk about what happened this past Friday on
SmackDown in regards to that, and really quickly, Guys, make
sure you subscribe right here to the podcast. Make sure

We love those towards the end of the year, and
we want to hear what you have to say, Jeff,
and you find the thoughts before we get out of here.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
Just that we're aware that we are not Freddie Prince Junior,
and this isn't really wrestling with Freddie. But it is wrestling,
and it is Jeff, Die and Alex doing our best,
and bear with us, go easy, honest in the comments.
We're here because otherwise it would just be dark for
(35:43):
three weeks, So think of it like that. Better than nothing. Also,
I've been trying to get Alex on this screen for
a long time, so I'm very happy about that. It
makes me happy to break bread with Alex. We love
all of you guys, and we love Freddy. We're not
replacing him, We're just filling in.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
We'll see you guys on Thursday.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
We out
