Speaker 1 (00:00):
Previously on Your Morning Show with Michael Del Juno.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Kurt Krushmar is in New Orleans. It's a big game
and that takes big security, especially after New Year's. According
to my brother, who lives in New Orleans, this is
going to be completely different. He says, the city is
locked down. Walk us through some of the things you're seeing, Kurt.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
I've been to the last fifteen Super Bowls except for
one of the COVID years, and I've never felt more safe.
Speaker 4 (00:30):
Start with a hotel, there's.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
Guards throughout checking IDs, and I go outside, look down
the main drag in where or I am downtown and
they have National Guard in fatigues. They have State troopers,
they have police cars, and they have their off road
vehicles part almost on every corner and randomly hear you
(00:56):
hear sirens and then you see lights and think, oh,
there's been a car accident or somebody got busted. No,
they're just telling people not to screw around, right. So
they've done a wonderful job. And all the barricades that
were missing when that incident happened in January, those are
all up. On Monday night, when I went to the
(01:17):
Superdome for Opening night, I mean it was like four knocks.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Well, you know, the President's going to be there, so
I feel good about that. I know American citizens are
going to be there, so I feel really good about that.
And then you know, ultimately, if there's one stain and
I grew up there so I have I can say this.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
We were talking last half hour, Kurt.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
New York Times Square is still the number one place
for New Year's Eve, but New Orleans is second, in
Nashville's third. And you know, talking about those barricades in
the French Quarter. They were taken down and now they're
being put back up. So you know this, what this
proves is this city can make itself safe for the
world if it plans to and does so. It shows
(01:58):
not too on New Year's. It's choosing to do so
during the Super Bowl. And I'm happy for the ladder
and I hope next New Year's is much different completely
as well. I mean, that was just not an event
to overlook. You're the number two attraction for New Year's Eve.
It should have been better prepared for. Well, that's good
because that allows people to relax and have fun.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
Right, of course, you would think they would have treated
the Sugar Bowl. It's like a dry run to the
super Bowl. And but no, but you know, you know
what you talked about, Department of Homeland Security. They have
flood lights on almost every exit because I guess there's
been a lot of you know, off off the Mean Expressway.
(02:38):
I guess there's been a lot of crime there, and
so big flood lights with the the logo for the
for that that department, and and so that's why they
didn't forget anything for this.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
Well, that's all great news. Then we got the matchup.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
You know, if I do, if I sit here with
the roster sheet and make some basic assumptions about game planning,
I can't come up with a scenario where the Eagles
don't win this game and control the ball, long drives, scoring,
get some pressure on Mahome. But there's just something in
the back of your head. I said this with Chris Myers.
(03:18):
This is the most unimpressive I've seen the Chiefs be.
And what makes it so impressive is how they just
keep winning unimpressively fifteen and two. I really thought the
Ravens would take them down and they didn't.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
I really feel like.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
The Eagles are going to take them down but something
in the back of your head says, not so fast.
It's Andy Reid, it's my home, it's it's the Chiefs.
What do you think's coming.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
I wouldn't bet against the Chiefs, but look back at
the Rams game and Sekwamp Berkley had those long runs
and early in the game, middle of the game, then
that last one was kind of destroyed. That brooke the
camel's back. So that's what you're kind I'm looking for.
Is that pressuring Eagles defense in Sequon Barkley with those
(04:05):
long runs, then they might have a chance. I think
we're going to see a real close one that goes
down to the end.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Yeah, And I think I think it should be hurts
running more than throwing along with Saquon.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
And you know, Saquon was always great, great at Penn State.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
He was great with the Giants, had some injury issues,
but I've never seen him run like this, and there
is no game too big for him. And I actually
think he'll break a fifty plus yarder, I really do.
And I think they are going to chew up a
lot of clock in doing so. We saw this with
the Saints when they won their Super Bowl. They kept
Peyton manning off the field and clock time for two hours,
(04:41):
you know, with the on side kick and the long halftime.
So I think that's the game plan and the recipe
for the Eagles. But I'm with you. I like a
high scoring game and I like the Chiefs. I don't
know that you know Travis Kelsey's gonna get on one
knee and proposed to Taylor Swift. Although so if he
ever was going to those two publicity, you know what
(05:03):
they would do it that way, Hi, Kurt, I am
so thrilled that, you know, we had one assignment for
you is to check out the security and it's like
security like you've never seen before.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
That makes my heart very very happy, for sure.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
Miss a little, miss a lot, miss a lot, and
we'll miss you. It's your morning show with Michael del Churno.
