Speaker 2 (00:04):
Roy O'Neil, our national correspondent, is here to help us
understand if the luster is off cryptocurrency or is it
time to buy. I can never follow this, and we
used to have Aaron who try to help me with
this that I don't get bitcoin. I don't get how
it goes through the roof, then it goes back down,
then back through the roof. Where is it now?

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Well it's back below ninety thousand dollars as of yesterday,
so that's more than a ten percent sell off, closer
to fifteen percent sell off since it's all time high
just a few weeks ago. And look, a lot of
this is happening in a time when we thought this
was the most pro crypto administration ever. Elon Musk, a
big crypto supporter, has the president's ear. I think everyone

(00:47):
was expecting things to go gangbusters, and instead it's been
sort of milk toast.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Yeah, well, it's not really the immediate priority, so it
stay may be coming. I don't know anything about cryptocurrency,
but my business instincts would say once they get I mean,
we were just talking behind your back before you came
on about no, not about you, but but if the
president should somehow get this done in one big, beautiful bill.

(01:13):
So he gets the framework of his budget, he gets
the tax cuts done, and the mineral rights from Ukraine
and the war over the hostages in the Middle East
to you know, our border, gets all that done in
sixty days. Let me tell you something. He's got time
to get to this other stuff like cryptocurrency. So I'm
thinking the future might be bright. It's just not an

(01:35):
immediate priority of this administration.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
It's possible, but you know, then we get bogged down
into things like Gulf of America, like you know, pick
and choose your battles, right, And this is the point
where they're saying, you know what about us? I think
is what's happening. Some has said suggested that crypto is
going to keep on sliding, perhaps Bitcoin going down in
the seventy thousand dollars range before things start to turn around.

(01:59):
And we're also getting you know, the new consumer confidence
number came out yesterday. It took a pretty big hit
last month. So you know, there are a lot of
mixed signals right now, and I think a lot of
those crypto investors are skittish and don't want to be
left hold in the bag.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
I haven't really stared at it in a long time.
I mean, the markets has been kind of up and
down by a line. Let me look at just do
the Dow over a year. So in the last six months,
dow shot up after the election from forty one thousand
to forty four thousand, five hundred dish right, and it's

(02:35):
recently dipped down to forty three to eight, so down
about one thousand. So, I mean everything's kind of just
a little, you know, so correcting on its own, but
nothing really to read into it yet for crypto right,
So what's the answer to the question lust you're off
for time to buy? I think it's got a little
more dipping to do. Well.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
That's that's the gray area out there, And certainly I'm
not qualified to give financial advice, but it certainly is
something that investors should be take note of after seeing
this decline and whether or not the dip is done.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
I don't want to steal your thunder because you've got
a great You're coming back in the third hour to
discuss everything from wings to eggs. It's amazing how the
eggs are through the roof, but the wings are not. Mcdonald'
has taking a firm stand. They will not be assessing
an ex surcharge. McDonald's is gonna eat it if you
will until things correct. But Roy will be back.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
When I had started, talked to the CEO of Chick
fil A yesterday, so we'll update that conversation you did.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
That's a big shot. I hope you were nicer to
him than you are to me. Well, by definition, I
think Roy will be back in the third hour on
Wings and Eggs.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Miss a little, miss a lot, miss a lot, and
we'll miss you. It's your morning show with Michael del Chorno.
