Speaker 2 (00:16):
Two three, starting your morning off right.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
A new way of talk, a new way of understanding
because we're in this together.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
This is your Morning Show with Michael O'Dell Jordan. Seven
minutes after the hour, Good morning, and welcome to Monday,
July the seventh year of Our Lord, twenty twenty five.
A third day of search and rescue operation underway after
flash flooding killed at least eighty two people in Central Texas.
Ten campers still unaccounted for. President Trump is slamming Elon
(00:50):
Musk's announcement of starting a third party. Israel has sent
a team of negotiators to Cutter for talks with Hamas
about a Gaza seas fire and who will be at
the White House today to meet with the President. This
is to discuss the vision of a hamsless Goza if
such a thing as possible. President Trump says he signed
letters to twelve countries. It will go out today. That
(01:15):
would be your take it or leave it offers for
tariff offers. And Jurassic World Rebirth took in one hundred
and forty million dollars over the weekend. Remember when I
last was on Thursday, I said I was looking forward
to my procedure and dreading Jurassic World Rebirth. Boy, did
I have that wrong. The procedure was a nightmare and
(01:36):
the movie was great. I thought it was the best
one out of all. No, I can't say that I've
seen that many of them. I think I've said reverse right,
it was reverse, Yeah, it's actually I actually thought it
was a really good movie. And it had the Lincoln
Lawyer in it. For those who watched The Lincoln Lawyer, No,
w he was the original. That's the movie lawyer. Yeah.
The guy that plays it in the series is better
(01:58):
than Matthew McConaughey. Really, and he's in this movie. It
was actually a very good movie. I got a hand
to my wife. I have still a hundred bucks to
get in and one hundred dollars in popcorn, but it
was good. Said that one more time. I'm going to
record that and send it to her. Yeah, make her day.
We haven't had a lot to feel good about this weekend.
America's heart has been broken watching Central Texas. As I
(02:19):
mentioned just moments ago that death toll is now up
to eighty two with ten campers remaining missing. The families
sifted through water log debris on Sunday, stepped inside empty
cabins at Camp Mystic and All Girls Summer Camp, ripped
apart by flash floods. It killed at least eighty two.
Rescuers maneuvering through challenging horrific terrain, high water, snakes, water moccasins,
(02:45):
continuing their desperate search for the missing, including ten girls
and a counselor from the camp itself for the first
time since the storm began pounding, Texas Governor Abbott said
there were forty one people confirmed to be unaccounted for
across the state. Now, remember you get people outside of
the camp, So there's a counselor and ten kids still
(03:08):
from the camp. Forty one people in total from the county.
In Kirk County, home to Camp Mystic and other youth
camps in Texas, Searchers have found the bodies of sixty
eight people, including twenty eight children, according to the Sheriff's department.
Ten other deaths were reported in Travis, Burnette, Kendall, tom Green,
(03:28):
and Williamson Counties. According to local officials, the death toll
is certain to rise over the next few days as
the recovery continues. The governor warned the additional rounds of
heavy rains lasting into Tuesday could produce more life threatening flooding,
especially in places that are already saturated. In an area
already reeling from tragedy. President Trump signed a major disaster
(03:55):
declaration for Kirk County on Sunday morning, at the request
to Governor Abbott. On Saturday, Abbot said he visited the
summer camp for the first time, calling the scene horrendously ravaged.
President Trump Sunday til reporters that he will visit Texas,
probably on Friday. He doesn't want to get into the
(04:16):
way of any of the search and rescue. Meanwhile, the
White House says any claims that the National Weather Service
cuts had anything to do with this tragedy are disgusting.
I think you know, we live in a social media world,
which brings up a lot of different things. To talk
about our capacity, human capacity to take in all of
(04:39):
this suffering firsthand, it can overwhelm you. The other aspect
of it is irresponsibility in reporting and in finding a
fight or to politicize something in a tragedy that is
in progress. I mean, I can find no other word
than the White House is disgusting. I will say this.
(05:06):
Independent meteorologists, former National Weather Service officials all said warnings
issued in the run up to the flooding were about
as timely and accurate as could be expected with the
weather data that was available in real time. Everybody knew
from the outset that this was going to be armchair,
(05:27):
quarterbacked red. You'd have to correct me, but I think
they were expecting seven inches of rain immediately in the
flash flood warning ended up getting fifteen as a storm stalled,
as storms will sometimes in stall and dump more rain
than predicted. But as far as the alerts and the warnings,
(05:49):
you know, this goes back to we had about two
in a row, didn't we A couple of years a
year ago or so, we kept getting these tornadoes in
the middle of the night, and it's very different dificult
to you know, everything operationally works the same, but people
are asleep. I could just riff in a brainstorm right now.
(06:11):
You could have your settings on your phone in such
a way that it doesn't wake you up. Mine does,
you know. But we don't know if the campers had
cell service, We don't know if they had their settings off.
We just don't know any of them. But the warnings
went out, and as always when they come out in
(06:32):
the middle of the night like this, that's the high
risk that the warnings are issued, but they don't get
to where they're intended, So we just don't know. It's
all very premature. The fact that that Americans on social
media would want to play political shirts and skins with
this is nothing short of unproductive and disgusting. The mediorologists
(06:55):
said they did not think understaffed offices or a primary
factor in the tragic outcome, even though there were some gaps.
As I recall, it was early retirements that were offered
and taken that may have led to some of the
staff shortages. But there's no one that believes that this
(07:18):
was anything other than a tragedy, and that running up
to the flood, but because of the timing overnight because
it may be lack of cell service, perhaps settings on phones.
The warnings just didn't get where they were intended to
get in time. So eighty two is the death toll
waking up. I think anybody that closes their eyes there's
(07:39):
an extraordinary story. You're going to hear it throughout the
newscast today. A United States Coast Guard rescue swimmer from
New Jersey being hailed as a hero, apparently responsible for
rescuing up to two hundred people. That is Jawning Petty
(08:01):
Officer third Class Scott Ruskin, twenty six years old, singled
out by the Department of Homeland Security and Christy Nome
for efforts and saving one hundred and sixty five victims
as the only triage coordinator at the scene of the floods.
I cannot tell you the dangerous rushing water, terrain, snakes.
(08:26):
This has got to be I mean, this is the
kind of guy that a movie couldn't do justice to
what he did. As far as right now, we've begetting
our tasks from higher above, mostly from the Army as
of right now, but a lot of it has been
large state triages. So we're at the mystic yesterday for
(08:49):
a long period of time, we probably got about two
hundred people out alone and it was just yeah, we
saw a huge crowd, about two hundred kids at a campsite.
So we were like that' where we're going to go,
and he just started rescuing. So a silver lining and
a tragedy, there's always in these low points something that
(09:12):
rises up to heroic and certainly in this case, a
twenty six year old Petty Officer third Class Scott Ruskin
from New Jersey is certainly that. All right, So waking
up that said, eighty two is the death toll. Ten
camp are still unaccounted for, about forty in the county
unaccounted for. We'll keep an eye on that. Other stories
we're going to talk about this meeting with Trump and
(09:33):
net and Yahoo today. We did get Epstein investigation done
by the FBI, and as it turns out, they're going
to conclude that it was a suicide. Is bizarre as
the amount of blankets that were in that room and
mysterious video camera outages. They're going to rule it a suicide,
(09:58):
and they're going to say he wasn't black failing anybody,
and there was nothing in a black book. You know,
we live in a conspiracy world and a social dilemma.
I'm sure that's not going to impact anybody's conclusions on this.
You would be quick to point out, well, maybe this
FBI trying to investigate this with what hasn't been destroyed,
(10:18):
came to that conclusion. Maybe that black book had names
that we all knew were never going to surface. I
don't know. I just know it's time to put it
behind us. In Roy, I'll have the latest done that
as well as the flooding and continued search and rescue
or search and recovery taking place in Central Texas, and
(10:40):
we're praying for rescue, recovery. Musk new party. I guess
that needs to be kicked around, right. I don't think
it's any Ross Perrose situation, although you could see the
subtle reactions from Donald Trump and descent, the kind of
reminding Elon Musk of some of the consequences not only
that the government can create for him, but that he
(11:03):
could create for his company by alienating himself with so
many people that would otherwise buy his products. And Biden's
working on a memoir. This is where we just kind
of end the segment with a punchline right. Apparently the
autopad is back to work. Joe Biden is working on
a memoir. Don't you have to remember to do a memoir.
It's Your Morning Show with Michael del Chino. Hey, we
(11:28):
need to welcome Buffalo, New York and Tucson, Arizona to
the Your Morning Show Kitchen Table. The all new twelve
seventy AM The Patriot wus W, Buffalo's Conservative Talk joins
Your Morning Show today, as well as the Great seven
ninety k NST and Tucson, Arizona. Good morning, and welcome
to your Morning show. Now. The reason it's called your
(11:49):
Morning Show is it really belongs to you. Not a station,
not a city, not a company, and certainly not to
this host. It belongs to you. We can't have your
morning show without your voice. On the iHeartRadio app, you'll
notice a little microphone. Remember the old days of talk radio,
you'd have to call and just rot on hold. Now
you just hit that button. Count you down, three two
(12:10):
one gives you thirty seconds to make a common ask
a question. Our listeners will show you how it works.
But as we say, the star of the show is
always used, so use that talkback button. You can also
email Michael d at iHeartMedia dot com. Well, if you're
just waking up, Daz are what we affectionately call our
top five stories of the day. President Trump says he
(12:31):
plans to visit Texas this week in the area's hardest
hit by the catastrophic flash flooding. Mark Mayfield has all
the details.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
Trump told reporters of the Timeline on Sunday.
Speaker 5 (12:41):
Probably on Friday, we wanted to leave a little time.
I would have done it today, but.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Would just be in that way.
Speaker 4 (12:46):
Search and recovery efforts continue after catastrophic flooding killed at
least eighty people in central Texas. Doubts have been reported
in six counties. I'm Mark Mayfield.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
The NFL's two Texas based teams, the Dallas Cowboys and
the Houston Texans, they're joining THEFL Foundation to help support
families of victims and survivors of the devastating floods in
central Texas. More from Lisa Carton.
Speaker 6 (13:07):
The National Football League said Sunday they will contribute one
point five million dollars to provide immediate assistance and long
term resources to those most impacted by the catastrophic flooding
At least seventy people have been killed and dozens are
missing following the July fourth disaster. I'm Lisa Carton.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
President Trump said he signed letters to twelve countries. They
go out today, they take it or leave it. Tariff
offers more from Tammy Trio.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
Treasury Secretary Scott Besson said tariffs that were paused for
negotiating will take effect on August first for those countries.
Besson said Trump's letters say that if you don't move
things along, then on August first, you will boomerang back
to a higher tariff level. Beston added he expects to
see several big announcements over the next couple of days
about trade deals. I'm Tammy Trhillo.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
President Trump is letting it be known how he feels
about Elon Musk's announcement that he'll be starting a third party.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
Trump slam idea on Sunday, saying it's always been a
two party system.
Speaker 5 (14:03):
I think it's ridiculous just start a third party. We
have a tremendous success with the Republican Party. The Democrats
have lost their way, but it's always been a two
party system.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
He ended he felt it only adds confusion and that
third parties had never worked. The tech billionaire announced the
America Party on Saturday, claiming, when it comes to bankrupting
our country with waste and graft, we live in a
one party system, not a democracy. Musk was a vocal
critic of Trump's Big Beautiful Bill, which was signed it
to law Friday.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
A Mark Neefield. I imagine the expectations were high. You're
closing out the twenty twenty five Essence Festival of Culture,
You're the final singer, You're the big finish at the
Superdome in New Orleans. But because the event was running
already so far behind. By the time Lauren Hill closed
(14:54):
out the night and finished up, it was nearly four
a m. Saturday morning. He'll it didn't seem to mind
too much. The crowd was small, which made it easier
to talk to, and fans who stuck around even got
a few unrehearsed requests. I once performed for two people
(15:14):
and a lot of grass at the State Capitol. It
was a under god rally and apparently was just barely
two or more had gathered for that. Yeah, well, I
preached the Gospel to seventy two blades of grass. Rededicated
(15:36):
their life to Christ. Joey Chestnutt once again Nathan's Hot
Dog Eating Contest champion. He ate seventy and a half
hot dogs in ten minutes to reclaim his throne after
missing last year's contest due to the controversy over a
sponsorship deal with Impossible Foods. His total came up short
from his world record, which is seventy six hot dogs
in ten minutes. This is the seventeenth time Chestnuts one
(15:58):
the fourth of July eatingest in sports. Tigers exploded with
six and the ten to beat the Guardians seven to two.
I think that's ten straight. The Guardians have lost. Cardinals
beat bad eleven to nothing by the Cubs. Last night,
Brewers won three to one over the Marlins, Angels lost
three to two to the Jays, Raise beat the Twins
seven to five, d Backs shut out four nothing by
the Royals, Dodges fell five to one to the Astros,
(16:20):
Padre's won four to one over the Rangers, and the
A's lost six to two to the Giants.
Speaker 5 (16:26):
Hi, this is so and so from such and such,
and my morning show is your morning show, Michael del JOURNA.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
Hey, it's Michael. I'm so glad you found the podcast,
and don't forget you can listen to your Morning Show
live each weekday morning. Your Morning Show can be heard
in great cities like Youngstown, Ohio, Nashville, Tennessee, Saint Louis, Sacramento, Phoenix,
just to name a few. You can find the Your
Morning Show city closest to you on our website, Your
Morningshow online dot com. And We're glad you're here for
(16:58):
the podcast. Enjoy that Luke chapter six, out of the
Abundance of the Heart, the mount speaks. I have to
look that up, but sounds pretty good. Yeah, somebody check
me out. I'm gonna go with Luke sixty five. Do
Luke six forty five? What does it say? Let you
know I have to wait this long. And person produces
(17:19):
good things from the treasures of a good heart. Evil
person produces evil things from the treasures of an evil
that's different translation about the abundance of the heart that
mon speaks. This is a scripture that has always horrified
me because a I speak for a living three hours
a day. Sure there's a delay, but that's only for
(17:43):
slips of the time. So I take this very seriously,
and and I there's another verse that talks about will
be accountable for every idle word I have an I
say this just to impress upon you, I really don't
spend any time thinking about others more than myself. That
(18:05):
there's plenty for me to be horrified about. But the
notion that someone literally, as this tragedy is going on
in central Texas, would turn this into an outrageous race statement.
(18:33):
I just couldn't help but think of that scripture. What
could possibly be in this person's heart that this is
the first thing that spills out. It is very revealing.
Sadie Perkins is a former member of the Houston Food
and Security Board, and as the tragedy was unfolding, a
(18:55):
camt Mystic and Hunt Texas on TikTok. In a video
she makes the remarks that this is an all white,
white only church camp, not even a token Asian. Well,
as you can imagine, everybody pounced as they should. And
(19:18):
I just use her as an example to say, anybody
watching this, and you're going to start seeing pictures of
these kids today as they're identified. What I talked about
a few minutes ago becomes very important for those of
us who have sons and daughters. This is going to
(19:40):
have a huge impact because if you have any empathy whatsoever,
you can't imagine how these families are breathing right now,
let alone existing the magnitude of devastation and pain and grief.
(20:01):
There's nothing more instinctive in a parent than to protect
their child and to know that they weren't there to
protect them, to know that they were scared, to know
the conditions and the horrifying way in which they lost
their life. For me, I have to reel it in.
(20:22):
It's just too much. I feel too deeply. I hurt
too real and I just wanted to encourage those of
you that are unlike that example I gave. You got
to do something with that. You know, I talked about capacity.
It's one of the silent things about social media. We're
(20:44):
all experiencing too much pain. We're exposed to too much cancer,
too much tragedy, too much death. The average person mourns
a law of a pet every ten years. Thanks to
(21:05):
social media, somebody's pet dies every day. That's a lot
of time. I mean, God has the capacity to be
near to that many broken hearts, but we don't, and
it will weigh on you. You have to release it.
Now there's another side of releasing it too, not just
(21:27):
for your benefit, but for theirs. I don't know any
of these parents in Texas. I could think about them
all day. It doesn't make any measurable difference. But there
is a God of yesterday, today, and forever, past, present
in future that can bottle every tear, be near to
every broken heart and comfort. Is only the God and
(21:48):
the creator of them can so I just you know,
we make these statements all the time. Keep these families
in your prayers, do it, let go of it from yourself,
and do it so that God can be there and
do what only he can do. Because this level of
(22:10):
tragedy is enough to make somebody who speaks for a
living silent for three hours. And the more details we get,
the more silent I want to be. And this morning
I think I hadn't seen it until this morning. Had
you read we're getting the first pictures of little girls
(22:31):
who have been identified. It's going to ruin your day
over the weekend. Yeah, and a glance, one glance is
going to ruin your day. My daughters look just like that.
It seems like yesterday. It is revealing of the hour
in which we live, that everything has to be political,
(22:54):
kind of like that goofball in Houston. That's the abundance
of our heart. This woman must have every day obsessed
with race in general, let alone animosity to make such
a statement. I don't even want to begin to dissect
(23:15):
what she might have meant, as if it mattered less
that instead of seeing the pain the suffering, she just
saw race. It's unthinkable to me, but you could peruse
(23:36):
social media today and find any number of things that
are just ridiculous. And there's there's the focus. It reveals,
the heart it reveals, and there's also that double of
the timing. Right, somebody formed the immediate position. I even
(24:03):
saw some on social media blaming the big Beautiful bill,
as if it could have even been an effect in time.
But the notion that any cutbacks in the past that
the National Weather Service led to this tragedy, In other words,
take a tragedy and try to make it political and
blame it on a president. Well, the White House said
(24:23):
it's disgusting and it is. An independent meteorologist and former
National Weather Service staffers all looked at this and said
the warnings issued in the run up were timely, and
as accurate as could be expected. Now, in this particular case,
that happened in the middle of the night, and that
(24:45):
always makes it extra dangerous because you can send the
warnings but they're not received in a remote campground. We
don't even know what the cell service was, We don't
know what the settings on the phones were, We don't
know how much ample warning they got. And we do
know that it ended up being more rainfall expected, but
it was expecting flash flooding and it was a deadly
(25:06):
warning issued turned out to even be worse than expected.
So where are we at waking up this morning. Well,
a third day of search of rescue operation is underway.
Eighty two is the current death told. This is expected
to climb. Still ten campers unaccounted for and one counselor
forty in all in the county accorded to the Sheriff's department,
(25:29):
still unaccounted for. President Trump is slamming Elon Musk's announcement
that he will be starting a third party. We have
Sounds of the Day a little bit later on, and
they did a panel discussion at CNN and Scott Jennings
was one of them. And I, you know, sometimes I
just love the way Scott approaches some of these big,
(25:52):
big topics. It just starts, you know, how to eat
an elephant one by at a time. And he just
began his comment by saying, it's it's not easy to
start a party. Think about it, think about our long history.
I don't think it was ever our founding. Father's a
tent that we'd be a two party system, and we
are not a two party system. Why we choose to
(26:15):
operate that way, I don't know, but for the sake
of this conversation, if it was easy to start parties,
you wouldn't be with the same two for hundreds of years,
you know, or however many years it's been. It's not
I mean, talk about just making the simplest statement. Okay.
So Elon Musk is obviously, you know, naively wanting the
(26:38):
government like a business, to just turn around and get
it spending in order. It just doesn't happen that quickly,
and there's a Congress involved. But presumably he's disgruntled over
the big beautiful bill which is going to add to
the debt, and he's serious about the debt, and so
when it comes to debt, he's saying, we're a one
party system and now I'm starting a new one. And
(26:58):
I'm with Scott Jennings. It's just not that easy to
start a party. Good luck with that and the ego
that it would take to believe you could just start
one and it's going to be as big as the
Democrat and Republican Party instantly, Mike border on delusional. And
(27:27):
from a business standpoint, well, the left and you see
how they've been treating your tesla dealerships. They're never going
to forgive you for, in their mind, getting Donald Trump elected.
After all, he's the boogeyman, he's the Baboch, He's the
evil dictator. You think they're ever going to forgive you
from that? And do you think.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
The Reagan Revolution Maga Trump supporters are going to embrace
you trying to hurt him.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
What does that leave for your business? And how wise
is that? Do any of you think? And I don't
know what this does to the way you think about
Elon Musk. I think all of us are kind of
struggling with that. I mean, getting involved making a difference
(28:28):
that just that extraordinary. But we get a lot of
scripture today. I don't mean to do that to you,
but There's an old Testam scripture when the enemy comes
in like a flood, God raises the levee, raises the
standard against him. And that's kind of what happened. I mean,
just an unprecedented hatred towards Donald Trump, the using of
(28:51):
lawfare to tie him up in court with these charges
so they could throw the felony label on him. Sitting
with a gag order. He still wins the primary, dodging
a bullet. He still goes on to win the election
and did so with this amazing, amazing constituency. The kendidate
(29:21):
name Camelot, a former two Democratic presidential candidates, Telsea Gabbard
and Robert F. Kennedy Junior. Then you had Elon Musk,
and you had all of technocracy come on board. I mean,
Elon Musk will have to be forever grateful for buying X.
Bad investment, but it really blocked what the left was doing.
(29:43):
They were rewriting reality with legacy media and controlling the narrative,
and then they were silencing any opposing views. He removed
that ability by buying X. And then in this amazing
group they really formed American Party. He's wanting to form
a party that he was already central informing already. I mean,
(30:10):
he was a part of that. Do you see the
level of insanity there? Why doesn't he see the progress
that was made with Doge? Why doesn't he see the
long term vision to complete this. That's what makes me
(30:30):
just not know how to look at this guy. But
our question of the day is do you really think
he can? Do you really think it would have any
impact whatsoever? So our question of the day is does
Elon Musk forming a party hurt him or Republicans. I'm
(30:55):
not even gonna say Trump because he'll be gone soon,
so there's no effect on Donald Trum. But I'd love
to see if any of you think it's even possible.
I agree with Scott Jennings. It's a lot harder than
you think. And your guy, you're gonna be a guy
dinged on both ends now who should be focused more
(31:18):
on his own company. I I will go down on
record is saying I can't believe that he doesn't see
the role he played in an American party already being formed,
(31:38):
let alone threatening to start in another one. This is
your morning show with Michael del Chrono. Yeah, what I
think is that big Johnny takes odd of it. He
is an update on Tesla pre market down twenty two
dollars before he opens, what are the odds of that?
Speaker 3 (31:58):
Ask?
Speaker 1 (31:59):
Can you shall ree fifty five minutes after the hour?
That's one of the points I was making. President Trump
says he plans to be in Texas this week. I'm
gonna wait till Friday. Doesn't want to get in anybody's
way after the catastrophic flood. Mark Mayfield will fill us
in with the details.
Speaker 4 (32:13):
Trump told reporters of the timeline on Sunday.
Speaker 5 (32:16):
Probably on Friday.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
We wanted to leave a little time.
Speaker 5 (32:20):
I would have done it today, but.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
Would just be in the way. Search and recovery efforts
continue after catastrophic flooding killed at least eighty people in
central Texas. Deaths have been reported in six counties. I'm
Mark Mayfield.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
A study published in the Health Journal for Food and
Function found that eating eggs may be beneficial to your
health Tammy Trihilo.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
The detail study followed close to nineteen thousand adults and
discovered that those who ate one point five eggs a
day had stronger bones than those who didn't eat eggs.
Participants who ate eggs on a regular basis showed a
seventy two percent higher bone density at the femur and
eighty three percent higher bone density at the spine.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
I'm Tammy, triheo, here comes the scary bride. Spice is
