Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, I'm Michael. We'd love to have you listen every

along with you on the drive to work. We can
be heard on great radio stations like one oh four
nine The Patriot in Saint Louis, Our Talk Radio ninety
eight point three and fifteen ten WLAC in Nashville, and
News Talk five fifty k f YI and Phoenix, Arizona.
Love to be a part of your morning routine, but
we're always grateful you're here. Now enjoy the podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Well two three starting your morning off right. A new
way of talk, a new way of understanding because we're
in this toget.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
This is your morning show with Michael Dell Join. I
don't know whether to reveal my dream last night or not.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
You should, but it was a doozy and so hard
to believe all this is going on in my head.
All I was doing was watching Resident Alien when I
fell asleep. But anyway, so we were at my old
house that I grew up in in Chateau Estates of Kenner, Louisiana, Okay,
and RFK Junior and Cheryl Hines and Larry David were

(01:06):
staying at my house.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
What and it was.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Election night, although RFK Junior was not running for president,
he was running for the House of Representatives and we
were watching election results together.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
How do you come up with these drives? I don't know?
And then a controversy there's more up here.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Yes, our program director in Nashville, Scooter, who is not
here to defend himself.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
He's on vacation this week. Right.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Apparently I was at the door and there was Scooter
and he's looking for his phone that he apparently dropped
in laws. I said, it's it's midnight. Larry David's here.
We're having a blast. OURFK is here. What are you
doing here? How'd you know to come? And that's when
it was revealed he was dating my mother.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Oh no, isn't that crazy? You bring flowers? No?

Speaker 1 (01:56):
But it was apparently quite the Isn't that a bizarre
But it was so fun to hang out with Larry David.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
I remember dreams. I never remember dreams.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
I wonder if in like twenty five years from now,
I won't remember that I really didn't know Larry David.
I'll probably think I did anyway. Sometimes dreams are weirder
than reality. Not often, but last night they were reality,
former President Donald Trump is challenging Joe Biden to another
debate and a round of golf. Now I was making
the astute, mature character statement. These are the kinds of

(02:30):
things that Donald Trump doesn't need to be saying. Why,
Because this is a serious time. First of all, all
the momentum is negative against Biden, let him have it. Secondly,
everything that we're talking about is very serious in terms
of the trajectory of our security, the trajectory of our border,
the trajectory of our economy. I mean, this isn't a

(02:51):
time for golf and grudge matches. But having said that,
can you imagine if Jim nance in CBS we're bringing
you live coverage of the Joe Biden Donald Trump got
There'd be three hundred Hello, everybody, welcome to the Rolling
Hills had Augusta. We're today former President Donald Trump will

(03:14):
be taking down little Joe Biden. I mean, there'd be
three hundred and fifty million people watching that. I'd be
watching it, even though I'm rebuking it. Today I can
make money in pay per view and donate it to
a worthy cause. But you know, that brings up the
big topic of you know, all right, these are really
bad waters for Joe Biden. How should Ship Trump behave

(03:36):
in this turbulent see joining us as Republican consultant and
analyst Chris Walker. Chris, I mean we you'd probably watch
it too, but that's the kind of stuff Donald Trump
probably should avoid. Or am I making too big of
a deal out of nothing?

Speaker 4 (03:51):
I mean, I wouldn't watch it. I crave it, Michael,
I crave it.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
It would be it might be the great his television
event in history. If it happened, I've id have to watch.
And he offered it, by the way, it was a
million dollars for charity for the loser, and he was
going to give him ten strokes aside.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
I mean, let's think about it from a standpoint of
kind of the acrimony of the time we're in a
round of golf between the two of them, could actually
heal some moods that this country has had for fifty years.
I mean you could. Obviously the issues are important, they're
not They're not going to be trying, you know, made
jokes of in a way, but you know, having people

(04:33):
kind of go on a golf course and have a competitive,
you know, spirit to it I mean, I think it'd
be actually a really wonderful thing. He's never going to
do it, but well, I think it's I think it's awesome.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Well, here here's the bottom mine.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
We don't even know if Joe Biden is up to
the itinery this itinerary this week with NATO in town.
You know, he probably wasn't a six handicap when he
was vice president.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
But even if he was, that's a long time ago.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
I don't even think Joe Biden could play eighteen holes,
even with a golf cart.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Why would the president Sandy Capavey had a foot wedge
for half the course.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Yeah, I can't cheat. I wish I could. I'd be
a six. Why would the President bring up another debate?
Did he do so knowing that Biden couldn't possibly do
it this week? Because if I was Donald Trump, I'd
let the one debate be the only debate. I mean,
you can't top that, can you.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
I think he's just kind of goading him at this point,
trying to remind people his previous debate performance. In the
top of mind, you know it's for him, it's certainly
it's a big challenge, right, I mean, he's trying to
keep Biden on defense on something where he knows that
he you know, he can't, he can't, can't, he can't.

(05:45):
So that's that's where I think he's going on that.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Normally at this time, all we'd be talking about is
the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, by the way,
a state Trump won in twenty sixteen, lost in twenty twenty,
and is winning once again in twenty twenty four. And
yet all we're talking about is Joe Biden and is
he up for a news conference tomorrow at five point thirty.

(06:10):
You have the White House openly discussing that this is
a president who pretty much operates from ten to two,
ten to four pm. They're saying, well, when stuff happens
after that, you know, and there's people that wake come
up and brief.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
I mean, it's could it be any worse for Joe
Biden right now?

Speaker 4 (06:29):
No? It can't. I mean, you have the entire you know,
Democrat House and Democrat Senate, you know, openly and behind
closed doors suggesting that he shouldn't be the nominee. I mean,
every day when you're answering questions about whether or not
he's fit to serve let alone the rest of the year,
you know, not mentioned in the next four years, you know,

(06:49):
I mean we're looking at whiteout territory. I mean, there's
some Senate polls out today where you know, Pennsylvania, you know, Wisconsin, Arizona,
Nevada also that were fairly in the blue camp you
know a month ago, are now either tied or with Republicans,
you know, with constructing distance. And you know, as this
narrative continues on Biden, that's why the folks on Capitol

(07:12):
Hill are so worried, because this could be a complete wipeout,
not just for jo Biden, but for all the House
intendencies that are in play right now that shouldn't be.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
His approval rating is thirty eight percent. That suggests he's
going to get fired right direction, wrong direction. Only twenty
three percent think we're heading in the right direction. That
suggests getting fired. Sixty six point nine percent think we're
heading in the wrong direction. Swing states Arizona, Trump is
up by five and a half, Nevada, Trump is up
by four and a half. Wisconsin, Trump's by up by
nearly two, Michigan, he's up by a half. Pennsylvania, he's

(07:44):
up by four and a half. Virginia is gleaning Biden's
way by two, but I've seen some polls that have
Trump actually leading. It's certainly a toss up. Georgia, Trump's
by up by nearly four, believe it or not. New
Hampshire and Minnesota are in play. Trump Biden is leading,
but by less than three. If the election were held today,
the electoral college map is somewhere around Trump three twelve

(08:04):
to Biden's two twenty six with no toss ups. But
to your point, the United States Senate is forty nine
percent Republican, forty three percent Democrat, with eight toss ups,
and I don't have to tell you the toss ups
are leaning rud This is a disaster not only for
the presidency. But I was looking at a Cook poll
I want to run by you, and Cook is very conservative.

(08:25):
So this is like a best case scenario for the Democrats.
And what you see is the solid AR list is
twice as long as the solid D list, and there's
a couple on the solid D list. I wouldn't have
solid in fact, i'd have them lean like Colorado, but
you know they have leaning Republican Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina.
I think they're likely. They've got likely Republican Florida, Maine, Texas.

(08:49):
They're solid as far as I'm concerned. They have Michigan, Pennsylvania,
and Wisconsin as toss ups. If that's the case, former
President Donald Trump is leading all three of them. They
have of Minnesota, Nebraska, and New Hampshire as Democrat leans.
Those are technically toss ups, and the likely d's our
main New Mexico and Virginia, and I'd call them leans

(09:11):
at best. It's a shift. Is this a Biden shift
or is this an American shift for our time and
for all time.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
I wish it were the latter. I think it's the former.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
I don't think that the country has had, you know,
a massive great awakening. We love you and I would
both love to see that, but I don't think that's there.
I mean, we saw what we thought would be a
red wave in twenty twenty two, not not manifest. I mean,
there's still a lot of headwinds that you know, Conservatives
and Republicans have in general. But I think it is
certainly a Biden situation. I mean, you look at every

(09:49):
example of failure you can point to the Biden administration,
whether it's the Gaza peer, whether it's you know, unrest
to the Middle East in general, whether it's the Afghanistan Afghanistan,
whether it's inflation. There's a lot of that. And then
to just top it all off, people don't think he
can actually do the job. So people feel lied to.
People feel and they haven't lied to. I mean, that's

(10:11):
not sure that it's not feeling. I mean it's obvious. So,
you know, I think there's an anger at Democrats and
Joe Biden as the head of the Democrat Party. That's
kind of you know, facilitating this. But I think it
is still certainly with the world possibility Democrats can make
it close again if they, you know, make some changes.
So I think that's certainly possible in something that they
have to be thinking about and are continuing to do.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
So All Things Republican with GOP analyst and consultant Chris
Walker on your morning show. All right, So the polling,
no matter where you look, suggests he can't win. George
Stepanopholis is saying he shouldn't serve, can't serve. John Stewart
saying can't serve. I guess Democrats met yesterday and they

(10:53):
couldn't come up with a consensus, but the fact that
they were meeting was consensus enough. So Joe Biden can't win,
not fit for four more years and should go, but
refuses to go. That's the left side for the right.
They head to Wisconsin, Milwaukee to be exact for the
convention that means the unfinished business of who Donald Trump
will choose as vice president, the unity issue, and the

(11:15):
creating of momentum heading into the general election. How do
you see in preview Milwaukee, because by the time we talk,
it'll be underway.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
Yeah, I'll be there next week, so we have our
are technic. I'll be in the middle of Milwaukee. It's
going to be a time for unity. We saw Nicky
Haley tweet out this morning or late last night. You
know it's a time for unity. She helps against but
President Trump, you have a unified and excited party in

(11:45):
part because they know the stakes and they know the
potential now of twenty twenty four in a way that
wasn't even the case, you know six months ago.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Can I give you one more? Can I give you
one more push?

Speaker 1 (11:56):
They have the luxury quite frankly of not made can
get about Trump versus Biden, but their worldview, policy view
in being right for America, that that gives them a
lot of room in this convention to do things other
than just battle the top of the ticket.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
And that's a huge advantage.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
Well, and let's look at what the Democrats are doing
right now. You know, they're trying to distract by you know,
attacking the Heritage Foundation and think tanks that have nothing
to do with the precedent towards his campaign. You know again,
were talked about lying. It's just it's just the second
nature of these guys, I guess. But you know, the
party is going to be excited about who Trump picks

(12:37):
his potential VP. There's just nothing but enthusiasm right now.
And that's what Democrats need to figure out. They got
to decide are they gonna are they gonna go down
with the ship here with Biden? Are they gonna make
a change, and you know it would be a challenge
for them, is something they're gonna have to do because
right now, excitement and energy is all on the on
the Republican side in a way that's just you know,
going crazy. I mean, who was on the front row

(12:59):
of of Trump's speech yesterday to Atagohola the quarterbacks for
the Miami Dolphins. I mean, you know, it's rare for
people to be willing to put their name on something
like that, and here you have the situation where you know,
athletes and celebrities are starting to go, you know what
this is, this is not a this is okay to
be a part of.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
That's what makes the VP choice so important to keep
trump Ism alive because the president's only four years. Whoever wins,
whether it's Trump or Biden, what's next. By the way,
Project twenty twenty five is getting a lot of attention.
It's being try trying to be reframed by the Democrats
and trying to be, as you said, associated with Trump.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
It is the.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Heritage Foundation, and we're going to talk to one of
the people who put Project twenty twenty five together tomorrow.
Last one is a quick question twenty second answer. Who's
the best choice for Veep? And I think it's obvious
now in terms of timing, it's probably going to be
at the convention, right.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
Yeah, I'm hearing it's going to be Tuesday when they announced.
But the big you know, I'm not sure any of
the top names that are being taught about are really
going to be it. I would I think Youngkin's a
really good choice for him. I also wouldn't hold my
breath on Tlci Gabbard. We know that Kamala Harrison is
going to play a big role in this election, and
having someone like Tulci, who really took it to her

(14:12):
in the Democrat primary at twenty sixteen, I'm sorry, twenty
twenty is would be a good case and it gets
herd of the place to say, look, I was a Democrat.
I'm not needmore because the Democrats have lost their mind.
It's a good story to tell. So I'm not convinced
that any of those top three are going to be the
ones that are out there.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Well, I'm kind of hoping for Telsea. I'm expecting Bergham
or Marco. That's kind of where I'm at. I think
I think you're right somewhere around Tuesday, we should be
the timing on that. All right, We'll talk to you
from Milwaukee and the convention next week.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Have a great weekend.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
Russ and Roll YouTube brothers, you got it.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
This is your morning show with Michael del Chuono this serving.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Up breakfast this morning at twenty seven minutes after the hour.
So many ways for you to communicate on your morning show.
You can email me Michael di at iHeartMedia dot com.
You can call eight hundred and six 't eight eight
ninety two, or you can just instantly message us through
the talkback button on your iHeartRadio app, like Heath did
it KFYI, I.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Think you're forgetting that. Joe challenged Trump to the golf
match at the end of the debate first, and even
challenge him over and above that to carry his own bag.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
So the first to do the golf match, actually, y'all,
I'll correct you, correcting me, Actually was Joe Biden brought
it up previously on the campaign trail. It was Donald
Trump who brought it up first at the debate, and
then Joe Biden of course came back to it. But
the joke is, if they actually did play a round

(15:42):
of golf, I think you'd have over one hundred million
people watch it. Donald Trump challenging Biden to another debate
and a round of golf.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
Mark Mayfield has our top story.

Speaker 6 (15:51):
While hosting a campaign rally in Florida on Tuesday, Trump
said he's officially offering Biden the chance to redeem himself
in front of the entire world, and for his four
debate performance last month, Trump suggested they hold another debate
this week. However, Biden is in Washington, d c. To
attend the NATO Summit with other world leaders until Friday.
Trump also challenged Biden to an eighteen hole golf match,

(16:12):
saying he would known a one million dollars to a
charity of Biden's choice if the president wins. I'm Mark Mayfield.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Meanwhile, House Democrats, led by minority leader Hakeem Jeffries, held
closed door meetings to discuss the future of Joe Biden
and whether or not he should stay in the race.
The caucus came to no consensus. Also, former Senator from
the great state of Oklahoma, Jim Inhoff, passed away at
the age of eighty nine. I considered him a friend,

(16:39):
I consider him a great American. He was one of
the few that got peaced through strength and kept an
eye on China for about a decade and what they
were up to.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
He suffered a.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Stroke over the Fourth of July weekend and passed away
at the age of eighty nine years old. He loved
to fly, he loved America. He is the longest serving
senator in Oklahoma City in the Oklahoma history, and he
was a great man.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
He will be missed him.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
Michael del Johno and your morning show can be heard
live as it's happening five to eight am Central and
six to nine Eastern on great stations like six' twenty
WJDX and Jackson, Mississippi, or Akrons News Talk six forty
WHLO and Akron, Ohio and News Radio five seventy WDAK
and Columbus, Georgia.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
I'd love to be a part of your morning routine.
But we're glad you're here now. Enjoy the podcast.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
I love hearing from you at michaeld Aiheartmedia dot com.
Red Rights Golf isn't the only thing Biden can't ride
a bicycle. Oh I didn't even gone to a bicycle
race between the two. Can you imagine if they played
golf and Biden took a swing, a body part might
fly off. It's kind of like a Monty Python feel
to it. Yeah, but I've bet about two hundred million

(17:50):
people would watch it. Steve writes, I remember back in
twenty sixteen, you interview Donald Trump Junior, and you said
something to the effect of, I think the wrong Trump
be running for office. How crazy would it be if
Trump chooses his son to be vice president? Well, believe
it or not, our White House correspondent and attorney John Decker,

(18:11):
that's his actual prediction. Now again, we often talk about this,
you know, for Donald Trump, if he wins, he only
gets one term. It's rare that a president gets two
first terms. And that's what would happen with the four
years off. That would be historically unique. But in essence,
whether it's a year or two or three, he's a

(18:32):
lame duck. Is he prioritizing in his VEEP choice someone
that is right to be a heartbeat away and ready.
Is he prioritizing a key state on the electoral college map,
which doesn't seem as desperate as six months ago, bad
news for youngkin in Virginia but could still be possible.
Or is he prioritizing unifying the party or protecting trump

(18:57):
Ism within the party after he's gone, there'd be no
better way. I mean, I think DeSantis and Rubio would
protect trump Ism obviously, Nikki Haley wouldn't. Telsey Gabbard is
a much different angle. His son really makes the most
sense if he's prioritizing trump Ism over heartbeat away key state,

(19:26):
unifying the party. One thing's for sure, as you heard
from a visit with Chris Walker, nobody's expecting him to
make the announcement until the convention. In fact, everything they're
hearing behind the scenes is Tuesday will be the day.
The teasing was pretty leaning towards Marco Rubio yesterday, but
that could be just to throw us off, just like

(19:46):
the debate challenge, just like the Round of golf challenge. Meanwhile,
House Democrats appear to be split over the future of
President Biden's candidacy and their closed door meetings yesterday. One
senator not split at all, Michael Bennett from Colorado, who
becomes the first Senate Democrat to publicly acknowledge he doesn't
think Joe Biden's got a chance of winning in November,
something the polls show pretty clearly. And cruisers scrambling to

(20:09):
restore power to over one point five million customers in
Texas after barrel slammed parts of the States, and Shrek
is returning to the big screen. This would be we've
done the numbers. There's been five Shreks, so this will
be Shrek six, meaning I like Star Wars. I've only
seen the first and never felt a need to see
any others, and I can't. I'm trying to remember before

(20:32):
we started the segment, what's the last movie I went
to a movie theater and saw? And I'm telling you,
I cannot recall.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
Really I can't either, to be honest with.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
You, and that I mean, I guess to some degree
you can blame that on first Hollywood and then second COVID,
but I don't know that. I'm Aaron Rayali is joining us. Aaron,
what's the last time you've been to a movie theater
to see a movie?

Speaker 7 (20:54):
After Pretty recently, I went to see Inside Out like
two weeks ago with my kids. It's great. By the way,
that was a great movie.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Yeah, you know, kids bringing to the theater minor churse
are in college or heading into senior year of high school,
so we don't do that as much.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
Although all my kids went and saw that movie and
loved it. I can't remember.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
I can't remember the last movie I saw in the theater.
I really, I just I literally cannot remember. That's how
long it was.

Speaker 7 (21:18):
You should go, I know what. And it's funny you
say that, because my kids are just gonna have just
become old enough to really actually enjoy the theater like
we would go and then you'd have to like ripcord
halfway through a movie. But now they're old enough and
they love it, and you've seen. This is why having
kids is great. The most challenging thing in my life.
But you see the joy of simple things like going

(21:40):
to the movies through these young eyes, and you're like
the idea of like standing in line to get popcorn,
it becomes more exciting because they're like, we're gonna get popcorn.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
I recall, I do recall, like Nick and I are
going to watch the Cardinals in the Cubs Bush Stadium
in Saint Louis. And of course, the tickets now are ridiculous,
hotels are ridiculous, the drinks and food and dippin' dots
are all ridiculous. But I mean, I remember the last
time we went as a family to the movie, and
it was it was almost one hundred and fifty bucks

(22:11):
by the time we did tickets and food.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
Oh yeah, it's just insane.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
And then it really isn't so much, you know, I'm
not gonna take the high road and say well, I
mean Robert de Niro has ruined a lot for me.
I mean, Casino came on the other night and I
couldn't even watch it because this guy's got a body
of work that's brilliant, and I just can't enjoy it.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
He's been so unbrilliant all this year.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
But you know, all of Hollywood with their life of
mass telling us how to live, that's been distracting and
you know, disgusting.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
But that's not even the reason.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
I mean, I'm watching a lot of these people that
I don't agree with politically on Netflix, on Amazon.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
It's just they haven't made a movie worth me going to.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
And trust me, I missed the Smell of Popcorn and
one of my greatest childhood memories in the Wisconsin Dells.
It was an old fashioned theater and there was literally,
like the old days, a woman at the piano playing.
You just came and went. It was free, You just
help yourself to popcorn and the popcorn machine, and they
were playing silent movies. I mean it was just enchanting

(23:10):
quite frankly. Yeah, But I mean I love going to
a movie theater. I just nobody's made anything I wanted
to see, and I don't know how long. All right,
let's talk about the huge surge. Well, scams in general
are the huge surge that seems to be all We're
going to battle and it's going to.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
Get harder and harder with AI.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
Now, if AI can just get a smidgeon of your voice,
it can create a whole song with your voice. And
it can also take a smidgeon of your voice from
a video you've posted online and create a phone call
from your kid telling you you know they need five
hundred dollars instantly or else you better have those code
words for your family. But we battle a lot of
scams today, let's focus on phony job scams that would

(23:47):
be the latest, and how you can make sure.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
You're not a victim.

Speaker 7 (23:50):
Yes, and usually these scams, these online scams, they go
for older demographics because they're not Internet native, if you will.
But this is kind of praying on a similar pressure point,
but with younger people who don't have a lot of
experience in the job market. I actually know a boy
in his twenties who fell victim to this right out
of college. And it's it's sad and everyone talks about
like early twenties being the greatest part of your life.

(24:11):
They're also they're good. There's a lot of wooded shop,
like a lot of things coming at you. And like
I'm not saying like kids should fly, they should be
able to stand on their own, et cetera.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
Et cetera.

Speaker 7 (24:21):
But that's a need compassion and love and a little
bit of guidance. So like, you know, just look out
for the younger ones in your life because these thieves
what they do is they generally pose as recruiters. They
post a fake job on a real site like a LinkedIn.
What they're trying to do is steal valuable information. They
want your driver's license, they want your social they want
bank account details, and then once they have this, they

(24:42):
have everything they need to steal everything about you. But
what they're attempting to do is in the short term,
you know, just get a couple thousand bucks off of
you for equipment, you send them a check. Don't ever
do that. And then long term, you know, the long
play is getting all of the personal information, which then
they have everything they can need and can steal all
your mind. But one thing to really be on the
lookout for is if you are conducting an interview entirely electronically,

(25:07):
whether whether it's text or email or even a phone call,
that's not a guarantee. This is a red flag. You
should meet the person at some point. And also bear
in mind very limited personal information is required during an
application process. They need your name, they need your phone number,
they need your work history, education history, like outside of that,

(25:28):
they don't really need anything until you have a job offer.
You've shaken someone's hand and you've accepted the offer letter, Like,
that's when you can start giving them bankcount.

Speaker 4 (25:36):
Not until then.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
I'm just sitting here dreaming of my shag carpeting, bean
bag eight track tapes, baseball cards in the wheels of
my bicycle, or shooting baskets in the front yard a
much simpler time. No, all these scans are just so relentless,
and they force us to be relentless.

Speaker 7 (26:00):
Yes, they do, and they force us to be cynical
before you want to. And I know that cynicism like
it's a it's a defense mechanism. But again, I go
back to like folks in their early twenties, I actually
remember that well, and I don't remember it being like
it was exciting, but I don't remember it as like
a peaceful, joyous time. No, like it's hard. You have
a lot you want to do or a lot you

(26:21):
want accomplish. You're going out, you're trying to and like
it is, it can be exhausting, and I think like
having compassion, like, yes, you're young, and you're you get
to be healthy and beautiful and all the other stuff,
and you can stay out late and get up early
and it doesn't hurt the same way. But outside of that,
it can be a really challenging time, and you can
question your instincts, and it's because you really don't have

(26:41):
any instinct yet. You're still a kid just trying to
make it in the real world. And I think like
having a little bit of compassion for the younger people
and having compassion for older people, Like it's important because,
like you said, this is not a simple time and
the hits keep coming and coming and they're not going
to slow down. So you know, taking care of yourself,
you and yours it's really important.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
I didn't have anybody helping me, and I remember doing
a lot of acting as if and then eventually knowing
and leading. But you got to find your way, But
this generation is little bit I was. I shared a
story about a comedian who did remember we used to
have phones that rang and you didn't know who was
on it, and you'd answer it, you know. And if
you wanted to call somebody, how did you call them?

(27:21):
You knew their phone number. All these numbers were memorized
in your head. So we have a lot of smart technology.
I don't know that it's made us smarter or we
have a lot, and we're less experienced than ever. So
it's going to be they're preying upon a very vulnerable
generation on the old end and the young end, and
they're relentless, so we're gonna have to be relentless in
fighting it. The latest, of course, is phony job scams,

(27:44):
and if you're interviewing, unless you're interviewing in person, keep
your personal information to yourself because it's a good chance
it's a scam. Great reporting eron, we'll talk again tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Bye, I have a great day. You Tube Top.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
Five stories of the day.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Well he's not president, I'm still.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
And now the question is can he live up to
the demands of this NATO week Brian Shook as our
road to the White House.

Speaker 8 (28:08):
Road to the White House twenty twenty four. The White
House is again dealing with NonStop questions about President Biden's
mental fitness. On Tuesday, Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre noted
support from some Democrats that want Biden to stay in
the twenty twenty four race, as others want him to
drop out.

Speaker 7 (28:27):
The whole commercial Black Caucus they support the president.

Speaker 4 (28:31):
The Comngrecial Hispanic Caucus support the president.

Speaker 8 (28:35):
She was also asked if the Pentagon calls Jill Biden
if someone launches a nuke at the US past eight pm,
given reports the President turns in early. Karein Jean Pierre said,
President Biden has a team that lets him know about
any important news in Washington.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
I'm Brian Shook.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
Meanwhile, Donald Trump had a rally down in Florida where
he challenged Biden to another debate and a round of golf,
among others things. Trump said he's officially offering Biden the
chance to redeem himself in front of the entire world
after his poor debate performance last month.

Speaker 9 (29:08):
It went along and after a couple of minutes, I
was saying, what's going on out here? It was a
little bit strange. I think the whole event. It was
amazing as an event, but it was a little bit strange.
He didn't do too well.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
It's for whom the former president thinks would replace Joe
Biden if he were to leave the race.

Speaker 9 (29:27):
I think it has to be Kamala if she's not
the one chosen, and I think you're going to have
a revolution and the Democrat Party. I don't know if
he is or not. He seems to say that he's not.
When you have delegates, like, there's not a lot anybody
can do if you say no.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Some actually thought yesterday would be the day Donald Trump
wud announce Marco Rubio as his running mate.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
He didn't, but he did talk about Rubio.

Speaker 9 (29:46):
He certainly will and he's a fantastic guy, and he's
a friend of mine, and.

Speaker 10 (29:49):
He is one of the top people.

Speaker 9 (29:52):
And let's see how we do over the next week.
But probably over the next week or so, maybe even
at the convention.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
Trek's returning to the big screen for a sixth time.
Brian Shook has the details. Man, I like you.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
What's your name?

Speaker 4 (30:05):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (30:07):
Shrek?

Speaker 8 (30:08):
DreamWorks Animation announced Tuesday that Trek five is currently in development,
with a July twenty twenty six release. Currently set original
Shrek stars Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz are
all confirmed to return. I'm Brian Shook.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
And Sports Guardians, Rangers, Mariners and Raise All One, Dbacks
and Nats lost and the Cardinals were.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
Off Listen Core, The Yard Boy and My Morning Show
is your Morning Show with my buddy Michael del Jorno.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
On the air and streaming live on your iHeartRadio app everywhere.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
This is Your Morning Show.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
Cruiser scrambling to restore power to over one point five
million customers in Texas after barrels slammed parts of the
state House, Democrats seem split over the future of President
Biden's candidacy, although Colorado Senator Michael Bennett has become the
first state Democrat to publicly acknowledge his belief that President
Biden cannot win in November, and has Joe Biden's campaign

(31:08):
in general gotten through the roughest of waters in the
after debate debacle, National correspondent Roy O'Neil is joining us
to take a look at how voters are reacting to
Biden's decision to not budge and stay in the race.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Good Morning, Rory Hey, good morning, Michael.

Speaker 5 (31:23):
Yes, I think what we're seeing, though, is this shift
that when Congress came back into session after the July
fourth break, the first response was does Joe Biden have
the ability to be president?

Speaker 3 (31:36):
Or to what's his cognitive ability? Right now?

Speaker 10 (31:40):
Though the question seems to have shifted to what's his electability?

Speaker 3 (31:43):
And then what does that mean for me? As from
members of Congress?

Speaker 1 (31:47):
Actually, I'll add a layer to that if I can,
And I think I think that's what George Stepanot George
Stepanopflis was asked on the street by somebody, I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
What do you do that? On purpose? Do what?

Speaker 10 (32:01):
Mispronounced George's name? No, how do you do it? It's
Steph the f is first step Phenopolos, Stephanopolis.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
Oh, anyway, the old leftist operative from the Clinton administration
who now poses as a morning host, Stephanopolis. Anyway, he
was stopped on the street and asked, you know, do
you think he's up to being president? And his answer
was I don't think he's up for four more years.
So it's actually two different things. Right, should should the
twenty fifth Amendment be discussed? Is he not capable of

(32:32):
being president right this second? Does anybody think he could
possibly be president for four more years? And then should
he step aside? It's almost like three different things. And
so you're right to kind of follow that shift. And
there does seem to be today more of a shift
of well, he can't win, that's right, that'll take care
of the other.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
Two, right right.

Speaker 10 (32:52):
And this is where the members of Congress, the Democratic ones,
are concerned now that Joe Biden may be a drag
on the team, because all the members in the House
are up for reelection this year, and a lot of
these Democrats are saying, hey, wait a minute, now, if
the arrival of Air Force one in my district doesn't
get me three, four or five points in the election
and may hurt me, this is all this campaign is

(33:14):
upside down.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
I'm sure I bored listeners to death going through a
cook view of the electoral college map, and they're usually
very conservative, and what you see is a big shift
that's going on. I mean, there's twice as many solid
reds as solid blues. There's even some solid blues that
I wouldn't call solid, I'd call them leans. The leans
are now toss ups. The old toss ups are now

(33:37):
Republican leans, so it is shifted. And that's why you
hear Democrats talk about, well, you can't just lose the
presidency without probably losing the Senate and maybe losing decades
of gains in the House along the way. And I
think that's what's got the panic in the air.

Speaker 10 (33:53):
Yeah, and then whether or not Joe Biden is in
denial when he sits there and says, you know, I
don't believe any of these numbers.

Speaker 4 (33:59):
We're going to win.

Speaker 10 (33:59):
The went back to the House and maintained the Senate,
and he thinks all every poll is wrong. Where's he
getting that information from?

Speaker 4 (34:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (34:09):
Yeah, Well, and you know the bottom line is is
it denial or is it defiance? And is denial a
part of the defiance? You know, all of the above.
That's the tug awar that's going on. And try not
to ever correct and make me look stupid in front
of my audience again. Okay, please, George Bless.

Speaker 3 (34:31):
We're all in this together. This is your Morning Show
with Michael hild showing now.
