fifty K E n I Anchorage, Alaska, Talk Radio eleven
ninety Dallas Fort Worth, and Freedom one O four seven
in Washington, d C. We'd love to have you listen

morning routine. But better late than never. Enjoy the podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Two three starting your morning off right, A new way
of talk, a new way of understanding because we're in
this together.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
This is your Morning Show with Michael o'del Truman. Six
minutes after the hour. Thanks for waking up with your
morning show. I'm Michael del Journal on the Aaron streaming
live on your iHeart app. On this Monday, the July
fifteenth edition, we would have been just previewing the R
and C. Donald Trump, who coasted to primary victories, tied

(00:57):
up in court through lawfare by the left, finds his
best voice, best there, ability to fundraise, I mean, just
marching to a landslide victory where the left is reeling

(01:17):
over getting rid of Biden or not getting rid of them?
Can they win? Who would they switch to? Is there
enough time? And then all that changes? Saturday in Pennsylvania.
John Decker is our White House correspondent. He's also an attorney,
a Supreme Court bar attorney. John, forget we're on the
radio just for a second, if you can. Let's just

(01:40):
be to Americans and talk about this. What kind of
an impact. First of all, I think Donald Trump has
the right perspective God and God alone. I mean, the
notion of that turning of the head in the millisecond
necessary to save his life, that's a God and God
alone moment. I suspect the speech is going to be different,
because I suspect Donald Trump is going to be different.
What's the feeling on the ground in Milwaukee.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Well, that's right. You know, the tone is something that
has changed.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
In our political universe right now because of what happens
Saturday in western Pennsylvania. President Biden spoke about that lowering
the temperature. A Donald Trump's campaign manager has spoken about
lowering the political rhetoric. And I think that that is
what we're going to encounter during the course of this week.

(02:27):
But it's also important to remember, quite frankly, that this
is a moment, and moments don't necessarily last, and that
means that the tone that exists right now may not
be the tone that exists in the weeks leading up
to the November presidential election. I hope it does last,
but I think reality is such that the news cycle

(02:47):
moves too quickly, such that we may not be talking
about the assassination in two days, We'll be talking more
about who.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Donald Trump's choice is as his running mate.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Yeah. I think there's four points to that too. By
the way, I'll just remind everyone one, Joe Biden delivered
a beautiful inaugural speech about we don't have to fight
over every little thing. We've got to cool things down.
We've got to unite as a country. We've got to
find consensus. And then he walked right across the street
and did forty nine you know, executive order reversals in

(03:18):
new executive orders. So you know that saying Joe Biden
now is saying, you know, with words, we got to
stop fighting. We got to cool it down. But how
long will he stick to it? The other is the
media and their role and how long they will stick
to it Donald Trump. I mean, as Joe Biden was saying,
if Donald Trump selected, that'll be the end of democracy.
He must be stopped Donald Trump was saying, you elect

(03:40):
Joe Biden. We're gonna lose this whole thing. This, this
country's going to go under. So and then there's us,
the people. Well, we take this moment and go you
know what, We've all gone too far with politics. This
is ridiculous. It's destroying our families, our relationships, our friendships.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
You know.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Well, we see a change in social media rhetoric, a
change in Trump, a change in Biden, a change in
the media. Time will tell, but it does sound like
day one anyway enough to rewrite his speech. Donald Trump's
ready to with his renewed view of life, ready to
say it and do it. That does it seems to

(04:14):
have affected his speech dramatically. Do you think it's affected
his choice for vice president?

Speaker 4 (04:20):
I do you know who I've already said before, Donald
Trump will chooses his running mate.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
I think it reinforces it. Now. You know that I've spoken.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
About Donald Trump choosing Donald Trump Junior or Ivanka Trump.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
As his running mate. I stick by that.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
I think that what happened on Saturday reinforces that because
essentially Donald Trump is thinking, you want to take me out, Well, there's.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
No you got to kill both behind me yep.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
And so that's the reason why I've said that even
before the terrible event that took place on Saturday, I
think that it makes it even more likely that that
kind of choice happens. But we'll see, we'll see within
the next forty eight hours when mister Trump makes that choice.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Can I curiously give you one other piece of information
that points to that? All right? So Donald Trump Junior
was not at that event and why he wanted to
take some time and rest before the convention, which would
be reasonable knowing you got a full week's convention, and
even be more reasonable if you know your convention starts
Monday with the announcement of you as vice president, which

(05:24):
I thought was kind of an interesting twist.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Look, you know, we can read into a lot of things.
I know it's been announced that Donald Trump Junior will
be the speaker immediately before the vice presidential choice of
Donald Trump has announced. That is what is on the
calendar that can change. I mean, I go back to
two thousand, Dick Cheney was announced as a speaker, and

(05:48):
he becomes the vice presidential nominee. So he is a speaker,
but he's speaking of the vice presidential slot. So things
can change, and we'll see. This is solely a choice
for Donald Trump.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
I think that this does influence.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
How he chooses who he chooses his legacy. I mean,
all of that is impacted by a brush with death.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
I mean that does not happen that often.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
That's what happened with the former president over the weekend.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
And if we thought Donald Trump was iconic before this,
turning his head at just the right moment, having his
earshot covered in blood with a fist in the air,
He's at a whole new level. Or as his son said, Dad,
you were badass. Let me get my shoes. I mean,
that was just unbelievable. All right, So let's talk about
the Secret Service. John Deckers i Milwaukee for the RNC.

(06:37):
They will testify before the Homeland Security Committee. Guy twenty
year old, the shooter. This doesn't match up, no social
media footprint whatsoever, no radical ideology, his dad's gun. He's
allowed to climb up on this built white rooftop building
and nobody notices. And then when they notice, nobody does
anything about it. I mean they got a lot of

(06:58):
answering to do. It's either really bad execution or it
was lack of personnel either way, they got splaining to do.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
No, I agree with you.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
You know, it's one of my first thoughts. It's the
first thought of so many others. I've been to so
many events. It's countless with the President of the United
States over the course of the past thirty years, no
matter who the president is, I know the extent to
which the Secret Service takes their job seriously protecting the president,

(07:30):
in this case a former president, but a future president
potentially as well.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
And they dropped the ball. That's the bottom line. They
dropped the ball.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
And so they do have a lot of explaining to do,
and they'll do that in that hearing. And as you know,
President Biden has ordered the Department of Homeland Security, which
has oversight over the Secret Service, to investigate, to have
a probe as to what went wrong in terms of
protecting former President Donald Trump.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
On Saturday, John.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Decker will be at the RNC convention all this week
and reporting for us. Thank you, John, we'll talk again tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
A lot of questions, why weren't they at the Saturday
night news conference? That's of any law enforcement was there, FBI?
Was there? Secret Service wasn't They'll be testifying today. I'm
sure they'll be asked a lot. How on earth with
those three buildings, with that angle to the stage only
one hundred and fifty yards away, not considered in the

(08:26):
primary I mean, advanced team, no brainer, would have secured
those three three buildings and probably had a sniper on them.
Why weren't there this? This has a lot more. I mean,
you know, as we said earlier, time and time alone

(08:49):
is going to flush this out. There is nobody on
radio or television today they could give you understanding of perspective.
Time is going to do it now. The question is
this loss of trust and the impact of loss of trust.
We talked early in the five o'clock hour about the
things that we never talk about. What is the proper
size and role of the government, What is the role
and responsibility of this self governed Well, we'll talk about debt,

(09:11):
but we'll never talk about that. Don't ask the right questions,
you'll never get the right answers. How can we never
talk about the lack of trust? COVID broke it. There's
a lot of things that are broken broken it. The
American people do not trust their government. That's a big
problem that has to be solved before the problems can
be solved. They don't trust the media. You have Joe

(09:36):
Biden giving an Oval Office address. But the problem is
Joe Biden just on Friday was saying something completely different
Monday of last week. So we're done talking about debate.
It's time to put Trump in the bullseye. Yeah, that's
an unfortunate choice of words, I'll grant you. But on Friday,

(09:59):
before the assass a nation attempt, listen to this. Donald
Trump is.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
A convicted criminal, and I mean it from the bottom
of art. Trump is a threat to this nation. But
Trump is even more dangerous now, I'm serious. He's unhitched,
he snapped. He says if he loses, there will be

(10:23):
a blood bat. Trump said that he wins, there'll be
a dictator on day one.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
He needs it.

Speaker 6 (10:28):
Folks, we're not going to let that happen. Over my
dead body will happen.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
I mean, you're saying that on Friday and then from
the Oval Office on Sunday. You're trying to convince us
you're the right person to be saying this.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
Yesterday's shooting at Donald Trump's rawling Pennsylvania calls on all
of us to take a step back takes talk of
where we.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Are, how we go forward from here? As words, Let's
see if the actions moving forward match him.

Speaker 7 (11:06):
Or I may disagree.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
We are not enemies, We're neighbors.

Speaker 5 (11:10):
We're friends, coworkers, citizens, and most importantly, we are fellow Americans.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
Again, great words, Let's see if we move forward with
actions I I don't. This shooter doesn't make any sense.
A twenty year old nerd who may or may not
have been bullied using his father's rifle, climbs up on

(11:36):
a white roof building, goes unnoticed, people alert police. They
don't get on a radio and notify and get the
president off. Thank God and God alone. As Donald Trump said,
there was a graphic behind him and at the millisecond
he had to turn in order to avoid being killed.
He does, But no social media footprint, no radical ideology.

(12:02):
This twenty year old that doesn't make sense. Those buildings
not being secured, those rooftops doesn't make any sense. We
got a lot of questions. I'll tell you I've got
another one. Notice there's no anti gun rhetoric that usually
follows every shooting from the left. They may want to

(12:23):
do that in the next day or so, unless people
think they're four guns if they're aimed at the right people.
So time and time alone will resolve this and bring
us the resolve and understanding we need. In the meantime,
a lot of questions and so far from Secret Service
unanswered questions. This is your Morning show with Michael Deltna.

(12:47):
A lot changed, didn't it for Joe Biden, for CNN,
for Robert de Niro, for the View. I mean, think
about it. This is not a narrative changer. This is
a narrative extinguisher. Where do you go from here? You
tried law fare and failed. Now assassination has failed, and

(13:09):
all eyes turned to the Secret Service looking for answers.
If you're just waking up, Donald Trump says God and
God alone is his reason for still being here. Lisa
Taylor reports.

Speaker 8 (13:20):
In a post on truth Social Trump said we will
not fear, but instead will remain resilient in our faith
and defiant in the face of wickedness. Trump said his
love goes out to the other victims and their families,
and he's praying for the recovery of those wounded. The
former president said it's important we stan united and show
our true characters as Americans. Trump said he loves our
country and looks forward to speaking at the Republican National

(13:41):
Convention in Wisconsin this coming week. I'm Lisa Taylor.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
We've talked a lot about the comparison of nineteen sixty
eight and twenty twenty four, and all that was left
to happen was for Biden to come to the conclusion
he can't win and step aside at an assassination. And
we had talked about how it is very ironic it's
RFK Junior and not RFK Senior playing a role in

(14:05):
this race, but it's really Donald Trump that occupies a
lot of the space that RFK Senior had, which would
have made him the more likely target though both. And
that's why we've often encouraged people to pray for the
protection of the president, and I believe those prayers were
answered Saturday, not the coincidence of turning at just the
right moment, but a God. I think Jesse Waters said

(14:28):
it this way. The devil was in Pennsylvania Saturday, but
so was God. And it has completely changed what Donald
Trump plans to deliver in his speech. And I wonder
how much has changed Donald Trump, never mind two point
zero this is a president knows that God spared him,
and spared him for a reason. Be interesting to see
how different he is. Meanwhile, the FBI is looking in

(14:50):
search of a motive for the gunman. Thomas Matthew Crooks,
twenty years old, appears to have acted alone. No social
media footprint whatsoever, no radical ideology traces. Living an hour away.
One would have to wonder how he even knew what
the grounds looked like, let alone the buildings and proximities.

(15:14):
I mean, nothing adds up here with this shooter. There
is no explanation why the advanced team of the Secret
Service didn't see those three buildings one hundred and fifty
yards away with that angle of the stage and allowed
it to go unmanned. Is it lack of planning or

(15:35):
lack of personnel or something far more sinister. Well, they'll
be answering questions before the Homeland Security Committee today, as
Congress wants answers, as the American people should demand answers.
And then finally, Joe Biden has his third Oval Office
address to tell us it's time to lower the temperature
in our politics. That's the president who has done nothing

(16:01):
but heighten them. Does he have any credibility today. So
that's where we get to this main point of this
isn't a narrative changer, it's an extinguisher. Anybody want to
hear from meathead Rob Reiner today, Anybody want to hear
from Robert de Niro today. Anybody want to hear from

(16:22):
the View or CNN, or there's always Joe Biden. This
is what Joe Biden was saying in Detroit less than
twenty four hours before the shooting.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
America needs to wake up and realize that Trump and
his mega republic is what they're trying to do. We're
going to join them, We're going to engage them, and
we're going to stop them.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
Yeah, the left spent years. I mean, at the end
of the day, you've been in. I'm sorry, I'm just
an American. I think the President's Oval Office speech was
necessary and it was done. There's a lot of good
things in. It wasn't in there was any personal responsibility. Hi,
I'm Michael. I'd love to have you listen to your
morning show live every day. We're heard on great stations

(17:07):
like News Talk five point fifty k FYI and Phoenix
News Radio eleven ninety k ex In Portland and ten
ninety The Patriot in c app Make us a part
of your morning routine. We'd love to have you listen live,
but in the meantime, enjoy the podcast. This is your
morning show. I'm Michael del Jorno on the Aaron streaming
live on your iHeart app. You know, we were talking
moments ago about moving forward and eventually America does. We

(17:34):
did so after nine to eleven, We did so after Katrina.
We we will do so after this. But this is
a moment that could lead to change. This could be
an awakening to you know what. We've all gone too
far with this divisive hatred of each other. We've all

(17:56):
played a role in creating this atmosphere and in talking
about it with John Decker, it's really kind of four corners.
Like Joe Biden said, all the right things. Will he
continue to do it and take the right actions moving forward?
Decker doesn't believe he will. Donald Trump's changing his speech
at the RNC convention, it would indicate this is a

(18:16):
man who realizes God and God alone saved my life.
We may see different Donald Trump, not just a different speech.
Then there's the media other than Stephanopoulis and marthocratics this weekend,
trying to blame Trump for his own what led to
his own assassination. And then there's us and how we
fight on social media. I'm kind of watching all four. Well,

(18:40):
Biden set a new tone and stick to it? Will
Trump set a new tone and stick to it? Will
the media set a new tone and stick to it? Well,
the media and Biden have very little credibility, but ultimately
will be the American people and perhaps a different Donald
Trump leading us in that direction after this event may
hold the keys to changing all of us. One can
only hope. But in the meantime, nothing but questions, questions

(19:01):
about secret service, questions about this particular shooter. There is
a feeling in the air that Donald Trump was headed
to an easy victory anyway. Now he's all but president elect.
Aaron Rayal is joining us. You've been following the money,
you know. Uncertainty is a funny thing when it comes
to the market. It tends to be the only thing

(19:23):
that can really dampen things. And when the market reacts,
because it can react to certainty. If it knows it's
going to have this president or this law or that taxation,
businesses will react and they will adapt and they will adjust,
and then the investors will this looking at the market
view after this assassination attempt any question of your mind,

(19:44):
it points to investors think Donald Trump just won the presidency.

Speaker 9 (19:48):
Oh.

Speaker 10 (19:49):
I think we're talking about president elike Trump at this
point in terms of the way investors feel about it.
And what we're seeing is that a lot of volatility
is something markets generally do not like. But everything's pointing
to the green ahead of the open this morning, the Nasdaq,
the S and P, the Dow, it's all looking up.
And then also this flight to safe haven assets. This
shouldn't be that big a surprise, but we're seeing the

(20:10):
Swiss franc, gold, even bitcoin, which is now kind of
this non traditional haven. People are viewing it as as such.
They're all taking a bump us dollar that could get
a boost the end as well. So it'll be interesting
to see how this plays out over the coming days.
There might be some smart money that doesn't move anything

(20:31):
at all and just waits. I think that another thing,
like you said, it seems like it's almost a foregone
conclusion that Trump's gonna beat the president, and Trump supports
a looser fiscal policy, that equates to much higher tariffs,
particularly on China, and it's generally viewed as likely to
benefit the dollar, but that weakens the treasuries, particularly those

(20:53):
long dated securities. I'm talking about the thirty year note
and things of that nature. It shows that treasuries are
going to take a real hit if his fiscal policy
is an active.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
So we noticed when Donald Trump, shockingly to many won
the twenty sixteen election, the market shift from election day.
I mean more happened right after election day than after inauguration.

Speaker 10 (21:17):
Right, yes, for sure, because and again it's like this
irrational exuberance that we see a lot of the time
that comes up and then people react in this way
that everyone piles on in this position or that position,
as opposed to just waiting to see what happens. And
I think one of the things that's important, and i
probably more important if you look at the long term outlook,

(21:40):
is that many economists believe this idea of this kind
of isolationist high tariffs, this will have a profound effect
on the global markets and not necessarily a positive one
for the US. These are not my original thoughts. That's
coming from economists that look at this and It's been
echoed time and time again. Now Trump is an interesting
one because he might see that and he might horse correct,

(22:00):
he might not move forward with his stated fiscal goals,
or he might We just don't know well, and.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Often it's the case with Donald Trump Art of the
Deal see Art of the Deal. He will signal these
things to get competitors' attention and get what he wants
to avoid it, you know, So that's part of I
guess what fascinates me is what we saw happen in
twenty sixteen on after election night to the market that

(22:27):
was not even knowing if Donald Trump would be the
kind of president that would follow through and do everything
he said. Now he has the credibility of somebody that
we know follows through with what he said. I wonder
what the bump would be if on election night, when
it's official, or if some of that's going to start
getting baked in early based on what appears to be
a trajectory of inevitability.

Speaker 10 (22:47):
Yes, yes, that'll be interesting. And I think that like
a lot of people might not place a bet today,
you know, this is sometimes like it's best, the patient's
is best. Sometimes it is not. But I think that
that might be a position that will.

Speaker 7 (23:00):
Lot of people take and volatility.

Speaker 10 (23:01):
The markets don't like it, so sometimes not participating in
that and holding on, you know, if you have like
a long term portfolio, then just wait, just hold on,
see what happens.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
Just in terms of you know, not being left or right,
or Republican or Democrat or independent, just in the experience
of humanity and the human behavior. Many people have thought
if Donald Trump comes back this time in a Donald
Trump two point zero, which by the way, I don't
know that he would have, but all the lawfair forced him,

(23:31):
I mean, for much of the primary, and he had
it wrapped up already, but he was trapped in a courtroom.
But it ended up being just the right amount of
Donald Trump and then everybody to get around the gag
order that came to defend him. Had a very uniting
ability even before the convention. And now we find out
Nikki Haley's going to speak, so they seem to be
more unified than ever. But now this notion that I

(23:53):
turned my head in a millisecond and it saved my life,
or as Trump has said, God and God alone has
protected me, It makes you wonder if we're really going
to get an authentically different Donald Trump and an authentically
different State of the Union or convention message, and forget
two point oh. This is Donald Trump that has a

(24:15):
new vision of life and God and this is going
to be interesting to watch. And there's a lot writing
on this week and if it's been reshaped and reshaped powerfully,
it could reshape America.

Speaker 10 (24:27):
Indeed, has he He hasn't come out and said that
he's like that he has a newfound appreciation for life
or anything of that. Right, did I miss something?

Speaker 3 (24:34):
Is? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (24:35):
No, he said God and God alone has saved me.
I mean that, yeah, But I mean we don't know,
and we know that you know, he has changed his
speech completely, which would suggest there's been a change of
not just strategy, but a change in the man. And
what we don't know is is it going to change
his vice presidential choice? John Decker, by the way, who

(24:56):
if he's right, He's the only one I've ever heard
say this. If you I really want to protect Trump,
isn't moving forward? Donald Trump Junior will be his choice
as vice president. He actually feels like that's even more
likely now because if you're going to try to kill
because you know, can't get over the visual Donald Trump
getting up, let me get my shoes, blood streaming down
his face with a fist in the air. If his

(25:17):
priority is oh, you think you can kill me, well
now you have to kill me and the vice president
my son. So it'll be interesting to see what kind
of effect that's going to happen on his choice for
vice president. We know it's going to have an effect
on his speech. What kind of an effect is going
to happen the man himself moving forward is going to
be fascinating to watch.

Speaker 10 (25:35):
Indeed, yeah, it will be.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
It will be.

Speaker 10 (25:39):
And again I the changing of the speech that seems
like it's it has to happen. Arguably one of the
most profound days of his life happened between now and
when the speech traders wrote it. So yes, and I'm
sure that this should be talked about.

Speaker 8 (25:52):
It.

Speaker 10 (25:52):
It's historic in every conceivable way. Like you asked me before,
like where, yeah, you know what was going on? What
was like It's one of those things that you remember
for as long.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Well.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
The the iconic picture, I mean, blood coming across his face,
fist in the air, the flag behind him. It's the
cover of Time magazine. That's one for our time in
for all time, but already the market has begun to react,
and it's reacting as if Donald Trump has secured the
presidency in surviving this assassination attempt. Darren great reporting. We'll
talk again tomorrow.

Speaker 10 (26:24):
Thanks.

Speaker 5 (26:24):
Michael.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
All right, if you're just waking up, I think you
have a pretty good grasp of what the top story
is Donald Trump surviving an assassination attempt. A witness of
the assassination attempt of the former president at the rally
in Pennsylvania says the shooter was moving from roof to
roof before the shooting. Lisa Taylor has more.

Speaker 8 (26:41):
Trump is safe and on the mend. After he was
rushed off the stage by Secret Service. Ben Maser told
KDKA that he saw the shooter sitting on a rooftop
around two hundred to two hundred and fifty yards from
where Trump was speaking. Another witness, Ryan Knights, that he
heard someone said, oh God, he had a gun, and
when he looked up he saw a man on top
of a building with a gun aimed at Trump. Knight
said he dropped to the ground and when he looked

(27:03):
back up, he saw the shooter get killed by the
Secret Service.

Speaker 1 (27:05):
Agents.

Speaker 8 (27:06):
The FBI says they have yet to identify a motive.
I'm he's a taylor for President. Donald Trump has landed
in Milwaukee. He's already at the site of the RNC.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
Many anticipate his vice presidential selection today, and yet in
the air everything feels different, and so a message coming
this week from Milwaukee will be different. Mark Mayfield has
our road to the White House.

Speaker 11 (27:27):
Road to the White House twenty twenty four. Former President
Trump is sent to deliver a different speech at the
Republican National Convention this week following the attempted assassination against
him Saturday. Trump said on Sunday his original speech was
going to be a humdinger, but that the new one
is a chance to bring the country together. The convention
runs today through Thursday, and President Biden says there is

(27:48):
a need to lower the temperature in politics following his
primetime address of the Nation from the Oval Office. Following
the assassination attempt on former President Trump Saturday.

Speaker 5 (27:57):
Yesterday's shooting in Donald Trump's Trowling Pennsylvania calls on all
of us to take a step back, takes talk of
where we are, how we go forward from here.

Speaker 11 (28:07):
Biden said, violence says never been the answer when it
comes to American politics.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
By Markneyfield, I'll remind you, hours before the assassination attempt
on Friday in Detroit, here's what Joe Biden sounded like.

Speaker 5 (28:20):
And I mean this from the bottom of art. Trump
is a threat to this nation. But Trump is even
more dangerous now.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
I'm serious.

Speaker 5 (28:27):
He's unhited, he snapped.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
He says if.

Speaker 5 (28:32):
He loses, there will be a blood bat. Trump said
that he wins, here'll be a dictator on day one.

Speaker 6 (28:39):
He means it, Folks, we're not gonn let that happen
over my dead body will.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
Happen, all right? So is he the most credible person
to give us these lectures? We may disagree. We are
not enemies. We're neighbors.

Speaker 5 (28:54):
We're friends, coworkers, citizens, and most importantly, we are fellow Americans.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Didn't sound very neighborly moments ago. Biden said, questions are
still being raised about the incident.

Speaker 5 (29:06):
We do not know the motive of the shooter yet,
we don't know his opinions or affiliations. We don't know
whether you had help or support, or if you communicate
with anyone else.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
Biden said politics must not evolve to this disagreement.

Speaker 7 (29:22):
Is inevitable in an American mars.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
It's part of human nature.

Speaker 5 (29:26):
Politics must never be a little battle filler, Godfred Dunn
a killing field.

Speaker 1 (29:32):
Joe Biden probably failed himself most delivering a unifying inaugural
address only to go across the street and do thirty
nine executive order reversals in forty new executive orders now
from the Oval Office. In his third address last night,
in words, he's telling us one thing. We'll keep an
eye on his actions moving forward. As for South Carolina

(29:52):
Senator and potential vice presidential choice Tim Scott, the violence
being pushed by some Democrats is exactly what led to Saturday.

Speaker 9 (30:00):
The liberal media the Democrat Party continues to filment violence
with an obsession against Donald Trump.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
We cannot be surprised.

Speaker 9 (30:10):
When people take that serious and say we must eliminate
that threat.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
And now to trust the Justice Department to oversee and
investigate what happened. Tim doesn't feel good about that moving
forward either.

Speaker 9 (30:24):
I do not have the confidence that this Department of
Justice will do the right thing.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
The Secret Service will have to answer questions from the
Homeland Security Committee today in Washington. Why were those rooftops
not manned? How did that get by the advanced team?
Was this a personnel issue or a planning issue? Why
weren't they at the Saturday night news conference? Should its
leader be dismissed? Why hasn't Joe Biden fired the head

(30:50):
of Secret Service already? And finally there's Donald Trump Junior.
We haven't heard from Donald Trump Senior yet. We've seen him,
but not heard from him. We have heard from Donald
Trump Junior, who talked to WAI radio over the weekend
and said that he called his father after the assassination

(31:12):
attempt on Saturday.

Speaker 11 (31:13):
We get on the phone and I'm just like, hey, man,
you are a serious badass.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
I can't agree more. The guy gets shot and you know,
the Secret Service is trying to move him and completely
cover him, and he's finding open windows with blood on
his face to get his fist in the air and
say fight, fight, fight as he's calling for him let
me get my shoes. I don't like to use the
word ass on the radio, but yeah, that's pretty badass.

(31:43):
But Donald Trump Junior wasn't at all surprised somebody tried
to kill his father.

Speaker 11 (31:46):
I mean, I don't know, it seems like they've been
calling for this for quite some time. I got a
lot of hell, I think a couple of months ago,
and I said, hey, it wouldn't surprise me if they tried,
And like, of course they get.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
Like, what else is there? They've tried everything else? Joke,
what else is there? And we press on to the
RNC convention. Hi, my name is Bern Aaron and my
morning show is your Morning Show with Michael del Jorno. Well,
all the momentum was pointing to the Republicans setting into
this Milwaukee convention before the assassination attempt. What's the feeling

(32:20):
in the air now? Your morning show correspondent Rory O'Neill
is in Milwaukee. Rory, how does this change things for
this week?

Speaker 7 (32:28):
Well, you know, everything changed on Saturday, But the head
of the r NC said, really, the program is going
to remain largely intact. As we heard from the former
president in a post on truth Social last night, Unite
America seems to be a theme he wants to express
during his remarks at least on Thursday. And we believe

(32:50):
that former President Trump will make some sort of an
appearance tonight as well. Is it with his running mate?
That's a big question too.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Well, that's the first question, right, we expected that announcement
today unless Saturday's events have changed that timing and choice.

Speaker 7 (33:06):
Right and again all X factors, all good questions, But
we just don't know whether or not there was a
change as a result of what happened Saturday, or maybe
reaffirmed his decision. It's all just wait and see and
a lot of mixed messages. The other issue is there
are a lot of people talking right now, So it's
typicalt You hear a lot of opinions about what's happening,

(33:29):
and then you know what's actually going on on the ground.
Maybe different, so I laughed. Even conflicting messages from the
Secret Service. Yesterday, the woman who's been organizing security here
for eighteen months said we're sticking with the plan, nothing's changing.
Then today the head of the Secret Service, her boss
said we've adjusted accordingly, say like, okay, now I don't

(33:50):
know what's going on.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
Yeah, the covery or you know what? All right. Nikki
Haley's announcement that she will speak on Tuesday, not certain
if that was made after the assassination attempt or not.
That's a final piece of the puzzle for this party,
do you unite well, The.

Speaker 7 (34:04):
RNC said their theme was already going to be about
unifying the Republican Party, and what the speech is now
will be reflecting of that and a larger message of
unity for Americans. The New York Times reported that the
Trump campaign actually reached out to Haley on Thursday that
they agreed to have Haley come to speak at the convention.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
On Saturday morning.

Speaker 7 (34:27):
So this deal was apparently struck to have her come
on Saturday morning, hours before the assassination attempt.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
Final ten seconds. Things to look for today.

Speaker 7 (34:37):
Yeah, just what we're going to hear on that VP
choice will be interesting. And then seeing exactly how we
all cope with the security here.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
Everything's on lockdown, it's stuff to navigate. Roy O'Neil, he'll
be at the convention in Milwaukee all week reporting. Thanks
for joining us, Rory. We're all in this together. This
is your morning show with Michael Hill showing
