Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, it's Michael reminding you that your morning show can
be heard live each weekday morning five to eighth Central,
six to nine Eastern and great cities like Nashville, Tennessee
two below, Mississippi and Sacramento, California. We'd love to be
a part of your morning routine and take the drive
to work with you, but better late than never. We're
grateful you're here now. Enjoy the podcast two three, starting

(00:21):
your morning off right.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
A new way of.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Talk, a new way of understanding because we're in this toget.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
This is your morning show with Michael gill Trum.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
We knew it was going to be a crazy year,
and it just gets crazier and crazier, crazier. About to
exit stage left is Joe Biden.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Well, it all started with hiding them in the basement,
changing election laws through COVID and the shadow campaign to
save democracy. The strategy this time around was I guess
either you know, hide him as much as you could
and continue the cover. But that all got outed. Law
air didn't work. The bait was a disaster. The press
conference at the UN a disaster. The visit with Stephanopolis

(01:05):
and Lester Holt a disaster. But then the convention this week,
that's when I think it went from strategy to concern
to red alert to crisis to oh my gosh, we
better do something and do something fast. In fact, Van
Jones basically came right out and said it last night.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
This spirit that this guy has, you guys think discuse
he's drunk.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
He's not.

Speaker 5 (01:29):
This thing is like this, and hey.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Listen the pay guys.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
The last time out in the convission that felt like
this with Obama two thousand and eight, there's there's something
happening where headline.

Speaker 6 (01:44):
A headline just like Obama, and just like Obama, Trump
is showing in this convention that he has the capacities
to alter the composition of the electorate.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
That is the difference.

Speaker 7 (01:55):
Between two thousand and eight now is that Obama was
actually popular outside of his own party, and that's not
the case.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Comes in the convention hall for the first time.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
So really, really a nice try by Axelrod to throw
cold water on it, But that's Van Jones saying, last
time I saw a spirit like this, an energy like this,
was Barack Obama in two thousand and eight. We all
know how that turned out. The Only negative of the
night was. It went late till after midnight East Coast.
So I'm a little grumpy. Let's see if the president's.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
A little gruppy.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
Yes, Friday five.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Held to the Chief. Good morning, mister President.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Love, good morning. I can tell you this, pitch and boy,
I think you're grumpy because you didn't get picked for
vice president. But that's okay because I'm glad you brought
that up.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
I'm glad you brought that up. I noticed I.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Didn't get to do it. Somebody had this. Just you know,
I'm a chosen one when you look at it, and
you know it's okay when you don't get it. Snoop
didn't get it either, So both of you didn't get it,
and you know you're in good company. There's a lot
of people who aren't the VP, including the Hulk of Maniac.
You saw that yesterday. I have to ask you this
pizza boy. What's he going to do when pizza boy

(03:09):
runs your brother? I don't know what to do. I
don't know what to tell you, but you're a tremendous guy.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
What jd Vance we knew was on the short list.
I think Marco Rubio was on a very short list.
I think Marco Rubio gave an amazing speech. What what
does JD have that Marco and I didn't?

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Well?

Speaker 8 (03:28):
JD.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Van says a beard. He's a tremendous person. And you
have one too, I think, but I could say that. JD.
Van says, a beautiful beard. He's got a lot of background,
a lot of great character about himself, a wonderful story,
and he has the ability to relate to people. You understand,
he didn't always like me. He said some very bad thing,

(03:50):
nasty things. You know, you look at it. But he
can look at these people who think I'm a terrible person,
and he could say I was once where you are.
I used to think he was a horrible guy, and
I opened my eyes and saw that he's a beautiful
guy with a wonderful hairdoo. And you can help a
lot of people come to the light. You can do
very well in the rust belt. We love the rest belt.
He's a tremendous people, the rustiest belt the world has

(04:12):
ever seen. And we're going to do very well there. JD. Vance,
he's a veteran, He's just a tremendous person. Rags to riches,
you know that rags to riches and we're very proud
of him. Everybody's very proud of him, and we're very
excited about it.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
So we have our ticket. We had our first lady
last night as well. Looked absolutely stunning.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
She was tremendous and you know, we're very happy. She
had a very tough time. You know, everybody's been saying
terrible things about hers since we got started, and she
really is very strong. We're very happy with it. And
Melanie had just did a tremendous job. Ya Savantha RNCA.
There are not a lot of people, you know, you
look at doctor Gill, dup Markull or Dubleagill because of

(04:55):
the dresses, you know, they looked like a table cloth
and looks like a severe thunderstor morning in many cases.
But Malania came out, she looked distinguished, she looked beautiful,
and we are very proud of her, and everybody's very
proud of her, and we're very happy. We're very happy,
very excited, and very motivated to make America great again.

(05:16):
I can tell you that.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Well, the convention's all about uniting the party.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
I think after the assassination attempt, everyone arrived united then
to energize them to go out and do the hard
work of victory. And I certainly think that was a
mission accomplished. What a week from assassination, attempt survival to
a historic convention and now you don't even know who
your opponent's going to be.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
Who do you think it's going to be, Well, it
could be anybody. Maybe it's going to be Snoop Dogg.
He has to run for something. But I think it's
going to be Kamala. You know, you look at that
cackling Kamala. But I wanted to be Crooked Joe. I
really wanted to be Crooked Joe. You know that, because
he's a lot of fun and she doesn't send the
crazy stuff that he says. You know, she has interviews

(05:58):
and she goes around under the round with the word
silence and all of that. But she's not as fun
as Crooked Joe. You know, he comes up with some beauties.
I can tell you that he has. He called he
forgot his secretary of Defense's name, so he just called
him a black guy. That's incredible. If I said something
like that about let's say doctor Ben Carson, if I

(06:19):
think you know the black guy, they would have me
all over the place. And they would be saying, I'm
a terrible person. Crooked Joe talks about it, and he
says the black guy. Nobody says anything about it. He's
a lot of fun. You know, he's a boomer.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
If you don't turn your head to look at a chart,
you're gone.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
And he and then when Lester holds him to the fire,
have you talked to your secret service director?

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (06:43):
I talked to him. And of course it's a she.
I mean, you can't make this stuff up.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Well, we have to say this too. According to the Left,
if you miss gender somebody, it's a felony. So I'm
expecting Crooked Joe to be indicted because he went after
there and he was talking about cheetos. I call it
cheetahs kind chiedo. And I'm thinking about making the hooks
there my new head of security, and we'll see what happens.

(07:07):
Wet chairs, tables, ladis and chairs, we'll do it all
the top ropes. You've got to go. But you see
what's happening. And you see he called her a guy,
and this is incredible. This isn't doctor Levine. We're talking
about Well, we don't know if this is a guy
or a girl or what the hell is going on?
He called her a guy. She identifies as a woman,

(07:29):
a very stupid woman, but a woman nonetheless, And you
see what's happening. These are terrible people. These are sick people.
I have to say that, Pizza boy. These are sick,
very sick and disturbed people, and we have to save
our country from them.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Well, Joe Biden actually said you were a woman of
color Vice president, So I mean, yeah, they get confused.
How has the assassination and everybody's curious as to how
it's changed you.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Well, what we do is we have a profound new
appreciation for life. You know, we've always been pro life,
but we have a profound appreciation for life and a
profound appreciation for Almighty God. I have to tell you
that we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Almighty God.
He deserves all the glory, all of it. Because it

(08:17):
was very close. It was very close, and we were
close as a country to being in a very bad spot.
But thankfully we're not. Thankfully we're not. And we say
rest in peace truly to Corey comparatour a hero, a hero,
and he should be remembered as such. But we have
a profound appreciation for life and a profound appreciation for

(08:39):
our great country, and we're not going to let these
people take it away from us. We're not going to
do that that much. I can tell you it's not
going to happen.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
You did something last night in your speech that I
don't recall you ever doing, and that was humbly looking
in the camera and asking people for their vote.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
That's a great moment, and we have to do that.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
You know, we want to bring the country together. We
want to bring the country together. We want to get close.
You know that they separated us, They told us we
had to separate, remember that durin the chinavirus. We have
to come together as a nation because when we are united,
you know, they say, alst divided upon itself cannot stand.
When we are united, we can't be stopped. We can't

(09:18):
be stopped. And we're divided, we could easily be stopped,
and we don't want to be stopped. We want to
keep going. And so I want to bring the entire
country together. We want to bring the country together and
make America great again, not just for four years, but
for a very long time. That is why we have
jd Vance. He's a tremendous person. Air apparent the Thanktamonius

(09:41):
is not very happy about that, by the way, but
he is our air a parent now and I think
he's going to do a tremendous job. And I think
everybody's going to do a tremendous job coming together and
uniting to make America great again.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Friday's forty five, Joe's gone. I know you want. Ultimately, Joe.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
There's no way Joe Biden will be out of the
race by the time we talk next week for sure,
if not by the time the listeners here my voice
on Monday. So now I say, here's their list. They
either try to create a dramatic sixty eight convention and
an open convention, or.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
They you know, announce it's not going to be Kamala.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
And then you start getting you know, Michelle Obama if
she's interested, Hillary Clinton, if she's interested, Governor Whitmer. Governor
Whitmer would make the most sense because it would it
would probably be enough to sway Michigan back, which is key.
But and then I guess, you know, Governor of California,
Governor of New York could be in play as well.

(10:43):
Gavin Newsom and I think Kamala Harris the two names
that are talking about the most. Do you rule out Hillary?
That would get a rematch after only not with Joe.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
With Hillary, Well, if we get crooked Hillary again, as
she comes out or acceptance speech would be I'll get
you my pretty and your little bold. And she's probably
a greater threat to dogs than Christine Holme when you
look at it, because from pantillary Clinton is a horrible person.
She is a horrible person. But you look at what's

(11:11):
happening Crooked Joe, he's definitely gone. You're right, he's gone,
and you saw what happened at the convention. I just
want to point this out. The great Lee Greenwood. He
was singing the song God Bless the USA, and he's
eighty one years old. You believe that? Eighty one and
he sounded fantastic. Crooked Joe is eighty one and he
can't get through the ABCS. He doesn't know the lyrics

(11:31):
to the ABC's in twenty six words, twenty six letters,
and he can't get through it. Could you believe that?
So he's completely gone. I don't see her way around. Kamala,
she's going to cackle her way to the nomination, if
not other things, though, you know what she's done. You
know she loves the ven diagram. You see Montell Williams,
you see Willie Brown the ven diagram when they both

(11:52):
have something in common that's klilaris. You know what I'm
talking about. Overnight under the covers. So you saw what happened.
But I think it's going to be the Hyena Quela
Hyena because she cackless hyena. Harris, We'll see what happens.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
It's Friday with forty five. Thank you, mister President. I'm
so grateful your live.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
It was an amazing convention, and best of luck moving forward.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
God bless your pizza boy. You're a tremendous guy. Even
if you're got my VP, you're a tremendous guy.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
I do I feel I feel overlooked, but Seawn got
overlooked too, so I don't feel as bad.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Eighteen minutes after the hour, when we come back, now
one not do your top five stories of the day
or next this is your morning show with Michael del Trono.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
We'd love to know what you thought of the final
night at the RNC convention, and in particular the president
himself speech. Three ways to communicate with us. You can
always email me Michael d at iHeartMedia dot Com, toll
free eight hundred and six eight eight ninety five twenty two.
Or if you're listening on the iHeartRadio app, there's a
microphone that's a talkback button. Just talk right into it.
We get it instantly and we can share it with
the class. We'd love to hear what you think. What

(12:59):
you think actually matters most at your morning show.

Speaker 9 (13:02):
All right, we're just waiting out who Here's what you
need to know.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
The top five stories of the day, the business, and
the convention.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
It is now complete. Mark Mayfield has Today.

Speaker 5 (13:13):
In politics, Donald Trump is officially the Republican Party's nominee
for president, and the former chief executive is going through
a litany of what he plans to do if he
is re elected. At the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee,
Trump told the crowd He'll make the nation more prosperous
and strengthen the military.

Speaker 10 (13:29):
I will end every single international crisis that the current
administration has created, including the horrible war with Russia and Ukraine,
which would have never happened if I was president.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
With the border, Trump said he will not, in his words,
let these killers and criminals into our country and to
keep our sons and daughters safe. Trump said the border
wall will be finished under his presidency. He added he
will reignite drilling in the US and make the country
less energy dependent. John Tester becoming the second Democratic Senator
to call for present it At Biden to drop out
of the twenty twenty four race. Tester, who represents Montana,

(14:04):
joins Peter Welche Vermont in calling for Biden to exit
the race and President Biden announcing another round of student
debt forgiveness. That's politics, Mark Mayfield, NBC News Radio.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
And we also got where the Barack Obama has come
to conclusion it's time for Joe to step aside as
for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who seems to be the
voice Biden would listen to most, she has personally made
it clear to the President he cannot win and he
will cost the Democrats the House and Senate.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
And then she turned around and.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
Told everyone else in her party she believes that the
President is persuaded to exit and soon. Key Republican senators
are telling the party not to be complacent. If reports
are true, Joe Biden is stepping aside. We got ourselves
a race to run.

Speaker 7 (14:52):
The reports about the President stepping aside made their way
to media row at the Republican National Convention.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Texas Senator Ted Cruz.

Speaker 9 (15:00):
Is going to change this race.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
I believe the Democrat nomin name will be one of
two people.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
It will either be Michelle Obama or Kamala Harris.

Speaker 7 (15:06):
Florida Senator Marco Ruby A. Warrened a ticket with Vice
President Kamala Harris at the top could take the Democratic
platform further to the left.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Iden was a figurehead for leftist policies, radical left wing policies.

Speaker 5 (15:20):
Kamala Harris is a legitimate left wing political person.

Speaker 7 (15:23):
Both say Republicans can't let up for the next three
and a half months in Milwaukee.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
I'm Rob Dawson. Isn't it funny nobody ever brings up Pillary.
You know, it's probably possible we could still get a rematch,
only instead of Joe and Donald, it would be Hillary
and Donald. But yes, I would think the running odds
are Michelle Obama, who is not interested, Kamala Harris, who
would be the role of heir apparent. I still think
the governor of Michigan, whitmerd ought to be in consideration

(15:49):
because she could secure Michigan for them. In one Fails
Swoop Well one, Trump really had a good speech. Not
sure was the right one, but it was.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Eric.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
You are strong, you are full of life, and you
are on a pa Your optimism is contagious, your backbone
is unbreakable. Your conviction to fight for what is right
and against all that is wrong is truly next level.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Haul Cogan might have struck some people as odd that
he ripped off his shirt revealing his Trump Vance shirt.
He was in and out of character, the in character
part circusy, out of character, straight to the point.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
Crime is out of control, the border is out of control,
the price of.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Food and gas and housing is out of control.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
And the only person who can clean this up is
Donald Trump. Political commentator lud Dobbs is dead at the
age of seventy eight, and Bob Newhart has died at
the age of ninety four. Dobbs a friend of Donald Trump.
Donald Trump posted on his truth social a friend, a
truly incredible journalist, reporter and talent. As for Bob Newhart,

(16:57):
was there anyone better to iconic sitcom shows? That ran
for nearly a decade each. Just a really great guy,
a very funny guy, and a long, wonderful life has
gone at the age of ninety four.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Hey it's me Michael.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Your morning show is heard live from five to eight
am Central, six to nine am Eastern, three to six
am Pacific on great radio stations like News Radio eleven
ninety k EX in Portland, News Talk five fifty k
f YI, and Phoenix, Arizona Freedom one oh four seven

Speaker 2 (17:27):
We'd love to have you join.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
Us live in the morning, even take us along on
the drive to work, but better late than never.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Enjoy the podcast.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
It's my goal that this show always belongs to you.
It's for you, and we need to hear from you.
So there are three ways you can do that. You
can call one eight hundred and six eight eight ninety
five twenty two toll free eight hundred six eight eight
ninety five twenty two. Because if we don't hear from you,
then it's my show, it's your show.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
It belongs to you. We need to hear your voice.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
There's also the iHeartRadio app and has a microphone. When
you're listening on that, you press the microphone, you just
record a message and it comes straight to us. We've
had a few of those, and then you can always
Michael d at iHeartMedia dot com. Catherine just did so,
and she said I wished he'd have come out and
done everything in an hour and be really charged and

(18:13):
just boom boom boom, point after point. Never even mentioned Biden,
which you only mentioned him once. And I understand why
he when he had libbed that, because he wanted to
make crystal clear who he was talking about. You're right,
the rest of it was just unbelievable. Well, here was
my summary, and it really doesn't matter what I think.
It matters what you think. Conventions are about the business

(18:34):
of the party, the platform of the party, the president,
the vice president, and then the business of making the
nomination official after primary votes. That's the business of it.
That was all done. Then there is the uniting of
the party. I think after the assassination attempt, I mean
prior to the assassination attempt, but certainly after the assassination

(18:56):
attempt they arrived united. But a convention wants to unite
the party around the candidate. You had four or five
run and now you're down to one. You want everybody
in that building to be comfortable and united behind that candidate.
I think everyone in that building was completely energized and
united when they arrived. I think the rest of America watching,

(19:17):
certainly from a Republican standpoint, and for a portion of
independent standpoint, we're already united. Then you want to create
energy and the kind of energy that moves forward with
very productive footwork to achieve because everything you talk about
can't happen unless you win. I think they did all that.
What happened though, and a lot of the emotions and

(19:40):
energy created it. I mean, the President doesn't turn his
head to look at a chart, he's gone, all right.
That has a profound effect on him and all of
us watching. So what became problematic was you saw the
president throughout the week enter with his bandage and sit down,
but you hadn't heard from news conference to discuss what happened.

(20:02):
So the first time the president speaks to the American
people happens to be his acceptance speech, and he gave
his first hand account. Then you have his speech, which
he kind of started with and then went into an
hour and a half rally and then closed with So
the question is you know what was that a testimony,

(20:25):
a rally, an acceptance speech, or all of the above.
And the answer is all the above. And juxtaposition with
that is the first night was extraordinary, extraordinary, extraordinary. The
second night was out of this world. I have seen

(20:45):
a lot of conventions in my sixty years, and then
through the internet and television clips many more beyond my lifespan.
That was the greatest convention night in the history of
this country. It may never be duplicated. Every speaker there was,
you know, it was like church. You would say, oh
my god, it was great if it didn't have annoying,

(21:05):
but it had anointing to boot. It was out of
this world. And the third night was kind of a
typical convention night. A lot of things that you could
see the plan written on the wall, and then it
didn't quite came up pull off and it was a
little icky. And then the third night that's in the
eye of the beholder. Was it too long? Did messages
get lost? Was Hulkogan and Kid Rock a little too much?

(21:28):
Did Eric Trump have the best speech and that would
be the wrong Trump. And again, you know, there's the
room and how it plays, there's the television and how plays.
And then the only thing I cared about, how did
it play to people that don't like Donald Trump, didn't
vote for Donald Trump, know his policies are better for them,
and make it okay.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
For them to vote Donald Trump. It was in there.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
In that long two hours, he did talk to them specifically,
and he gave them the reasons why, and he humbly
said the magic words. Literally with the word humbly, he
looked him in the eye and asked for their vote.
That much was a success. There's no question there was
some providence, and I'm certainly grateful he's alive. And as
he said, he shouldn't be here. There's no question everything

(22:12):
he needed to say was in there. It was just said.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
Over a long period of time.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
Chris Walker's been there all week in Milwaukee and giving
us some of the greatest insight. Chris, your take on
last night It was such an ex No, I know
you're trying. Everybody's scrambling to get out of Milwaukee. The
night one and night two were so great that it
made three and four kind of feel like a letdown,
or so I did at home.

Speaker 9 (22:34):
I mean it felt by way in the building. You know,
I hate to say it.

Speaker 6 (22:38):
But you know, I know Joe Biden has a short
work day, but we didn't have to do a speech
as long as his workday.

Speaker 9 (22:44):
I think that damning a point. But you know, I think.

Speaker 6 (22:50):
You could hear a pen drop when he was telling
his story, and that was so powerful and so moving,
and then you know, I just I think it just
he was feeling in the moment with this with the crowd,
and you know, there's that kind of that love there
of of of the of the supporters in the in
the president, and I think he was just basking in it.

(23:13):
And so from the room perspective, it was it was good.
But obviously, you know, from a television perspective and from
a you know, kind of attention fans, from fan perspective,
I would I would have suggested maybe cutting some of
that and keeping it short and sweet, to the point
of saying, hey, here's here.

Speaker 9 (23:28):
Are the stakes, here's super we're doing, and here's why.
I think.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
But I think I think you nail.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
I think, yeah, well, I think that's a style he's
most comfortable with. He looks very uncomfortable when he's reading
the speech. It just doesn't feel like camera and he
doesn't feel comfortable doing it, and that's why he got
You had to get the testimony, and it was powerful.
I don't know that I kissed a helmet, but okay,
you got the testimony. Then he starts the speech. Then
he goes into rally mode and that becomes very repetitive.
But you get a lot of funny stuff in between.

(23:56):
I mean, as in magical moments. But you're going to
rely on people to do clips for you, and you
got a lot of enemies that are going to go
out of their way to do the good clips. So
he did mention Biden's name once and then you know,
he finished strong and closed, but it was actually very,
very long. I think you hit the nail on the head.
I think he's happy to be alive. He knows it's
been a magical week. I just think he was enjoying

(24:16):
the moment and didn't want it to end, and there
was a time I didn't think it would.

Speaker 6 (24:24):
Yeah, I mean again, we were you could definitely feel.

Speaker 9 (24:29):
You know, just people not wanting to get up.

Speaker 6 (24:31):
But obviously I've talked with somebody and we're in our
scene and she's like, I've had twins. I need to
go to the bathroom. You know, there's there's little pieces
here and there. We're almost in a movie and you're
trying to decide which part you get up to to
take it to rush right back in. But you know, again,
I just it was a relation. It is a relationship

(24:52):
of a candidate to his hit to his voters that
is unlike anything we've seen in politics. And I think
that was a an expression of that in a room
that that would run through a wall for him.

Speaker 9 (25:04):
And that's that's kind of what happened last night.

Speaker 6 (25:06):
And again, it just it turned into a very long
but loving, you know, celebration.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Republican consultant and analyst Chris Walker, who's been joining us
all week from Milwaukee and doing a spectacular job. I
would not have wanted to do this week without you.
All right, So conventions about the party business that was done.
You've got your ticket, it's official, the race is on.
You want to unify the party. I think they arrived unified.

(25:33):
I think the opportunity was to reach the independent voters,
the swing state voters who maybe don't like them, maybe
believe the boogeyman narrative, and make it okay to vote
for him. I think that was done very well on
Monday and Tuesday, not as well on Wednesday, and maybe
not as well on Thursday. But you leave unified and
with energy. Now you don't know who you're going against.
It's certainly not Joe. He'll be gone by the time

(25:55):
we talk next week.

Speaker 9 (25:57):
That's that seems to be what's happening. You can sense too.
I mean, there's just something something else.

Speaker 6 (26:02):
We were talking about a little bit of from some
friends last night about this too, that something more is
going on than just COVID. And I don't know if
you saw the video of the Secret Service trying to
help Biden out of his car the other day, and
it just there's something very you can just sense an
ending coming for him. You know, we hopefully wish him
the best from a from a health standpoint, but this

(26:23):
feels very much like like the end of an era
for him. Here the question is does he stay in
office for the next frale months? And he'd bow out,
you know, gracefully, But you know, I think it'll be
Sunday night, seem to be that's what's happening.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
I think it'll be Sunday night. I think he'll do
it Sunday night. Now, what their strategy is. Here's the
names I'm going to throw up. I don't rule out
Hillary Clinton. That would even score pretty quick, as would
Michelle Obama. The difference is Michelle Obama isn't interested. Hillary,
like Joe Biden, will be interested till the day she dies.
Kamala seems like the air apparent, but I don't think
they're confident she can win either. You don't want to

(26:56):
do the drama of doing it all at an open
convention because that doesn't give you enough time you'd like
to have if you're going to make the announcement. Let
them all compete for a month, let them decide, you know,
at the convention, and then close it with a big
unity and a charge and go into it. And then
there's Governor Whitmer from Michigan who's out there, and you know,
the truth of the matter is that puts a swing

(27:17):
state of Michigan back.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
In play for them.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
So I don't know, there's a long list we could
talk about, and then the obvious when Gavin Newsom, I mean,
who do you think it'll be?

Speaker 6 (27:28):
Honestly, I think some of this comes down to who
can raise money quickly because they're going to have to.

Speaker 9 (27:34):
Hilary mache I mean, Hilarychef doesn't have to. Yeah, that's
Trunt doesn't have the money problem.

Speaker 6 (27:40):
So you know they're going to have to really kind
of figure out how they're going to get the fundraising
and their excitement level up. You know, it would be
it would be just kind of silly for me to
kind of guess too much. My sense would be, I
think Newsom's in a really strong position.

Speaker 8 (27:54):
To be honest, you know, I think Kamala obviously has
had a big push a couple of weeks ago and
about this time saying that she's my president, their parent.
But you know, again, the only kind of introduction that
she has for ninety five percent of the country is
her tackle, and so you know that's a blank canvas.
But it's also she's kind of set up for being
you know, let's not forget she's the first candidate in

(28:15):
the Democrat primary in twenty twenty two have dropped out.
She didn't even make it to Iowa, and you know, a.

Speaker 6 (28:22):
Laser focus on her and her policies will be a
failure for Democrats because it is a it is a
continuation of Joe Biden sailer's on you know, jet fuel,
So you know somebody's going to have to take that
mantle up. And I think Gavin's in a pretty strong position.
I don't get the Whitmer thing that much. She was
terrible during COVID. She's a radical in a lot of areas,

(28:42):
and I think her team is good at putting her
in the press, but I'm not sure she's actually a
solid Canadate either.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
All right, roll the audio just so we have this, Jeffrey,
I say the ticket will be Gavin Newsom governor Whitmer.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
Now roll this, I say that be Hillary Clinton head governor.
Roll again? Isay that take it?

Speaker 1 (29:05):
I'll be mission because it could be any of the above.
But but they got to craft a story and they
got to create some drama. They got to try to
steal the momentum. I don't think Kamala can get him there.
Kamala is the toughest stretch for me. I think if
it's I think if it's Kamala, it's too easy of
a target to connect the dots to the policies that
it failed, not the person. No, I think it's got

(29:28):
to be outside Kamala. So I'm gonna go with I
don't think. I really don't think Michelle Obama will do
it unless Barack and talk her into it. I am
rolling out Hillary and I'm going with Gavin Newsom too.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Is the bottom line.

Speaker 6 (29:40):
Yeah, I think he's he's the most He's in the
strongest position.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
And don't forget Kamala.

Speaker 9 (29:45):
I mean, she's part of this.

Speaker 6 (29:47):
You know, I hate to use the word, but it
really is a conspiracy to bide the truth of Biden's
health and age from the American people.

Speaker 9 (29:54):
She's she's complicit in that. So she's not clean in
that regard. You know, she's part of.

Speaker 6 (29:59):
The administration, and there's been a concerned effort to hide
Joe Biden from the American people and the extent of
his health ailments.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Well, she does, and she does represent Hillary and the
Clinton apparatus from the moneytops to the grassroots. And if
Pedesta's really calling the shots, that leans towards Camilla as well.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
You're probably right.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
All right, Well, we'll find out all next week and
we'll have the analysis. Get home, be with your family, rest.
I know I'm headed straight for the bed after this.
Great work all week.

Speaker 5 (30:27):
Chris Wrker, This is James from Greenwood, South Carolina, and
my morning show is your Morning Show with Michael Dojorna.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
So many people have asked me what happened?

Speaker 11 (30:39):
Tell us what happened, please, And therefore I will tell
you exactly what happened, and you'll never hear it from
me a second time because it's actually too painful to tell.

Speaker 10 (30:52):
I heard a loud, whizzing sound and felt something hit
me really, really hard.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
On my right ear.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
I said to myself, Wow, what was that?

Speaker 2 (31:08):
It can only be a bullet.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
We always saved the final story for Rory. Welcome back
to your morning show. I'm Michael del Jorno.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
You know Rory.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
They were kind of forced to have to address that
because he hasn't spoken since the assassination attempt. Then you
have the acceptance speech itself, and then you have a
president likes to break into rally. So was it a testimony?
Was it a rally speech? Was it an acceptance speech?
It really ended up being long in all the above.

Speaker 12 (31:32):
It was and noisy, I guess maybe a good way
to describe it as well. I thought there was still
some of that low energy he accused Jeb Bush of having,
especially because just leading into him, you had Kid Rock,
Hulk Hog, Pina White, all making like they dumped a
barrel of testosterone on the stage and did everything but

(31:54):
have a monster truck doing donuts.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
And then he comes out and.

Speaker 12 (32:00):
Tells sort of a subdued story about a potential tragedy
and this assassination attempted.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
It was just a strange, yeah, But in their defense,
they did the business of a convention.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
They were very united.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
Even Van Jones admitted, what I'm seeing down here and
what I've seen all week, I haven't seen that since
two thousand and eight in Barack Obama. So they're scared
to death. That's why Joe's going to exit. So they
achieved it unity energy Heading into the general, the question answered,
who are they going to face? Our consensus is that perhaps,
I mean, I would think the ones that would even

(32:35):
the score the most would be Hillary or Michelle instantly.
But I don't know that Michelle Obama's interested, and I
don't know that Hillary has to she did in twenty twenty,
because Kamala is really the Clinton apparatus, So I guess
Kamala is the front runner.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
But what about Gavin Newsom?

Speaker 1 (32:49):
What about a governor in Michigan that could even the
score in Michigan.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
We're all looking at those big ten states.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
Your thoughts are is, what's the the rumbles of whatever been?

Speaker 12 (33:01):
So let's go down the Kamala line. Then who's her
running mate? And then you know what math do you
do there? Ben Shapiro out of Pennsylvania, everyone's buzzing about him.
Governor Moore out of Delaware another one, And of course
Gavin Newsom could be on the list, but there's no
way he'd be on a ticket with her, just as
to count, you.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Do more like I do Stepanopholis instead of Stephanopolism. More,
of course is Maryland. But yes, I think More would
be a great Marylyn would be a great choice.

Speaker 12 (33:30):
Yeah, so that's.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
A couple of ones out there.

Speaker 12 (33:33):
But her choice of a running mate, if it's her
big asterisk, it would be interesting.

Speaker 1 (33:39):
We would give him more energy, say nobody, Let them
all play it out the month up to the convention,
let them decide at the convention, and then use the
last night to really get the unity and the push.
But I think it's got to be somebody that evens
the score, and the poll consensus is Kamala doesn't do it,
and she walks them right into Hey, after all, if
the biggest issue for voters is the boord, she was

(34:00):
the borderz are and in charge of the border that failed.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
So I think they got a punt on Kamala too.

Speaker 12 (34:07):
I wouldn't disagree with that, And then I'd also say,
you know, yes, it's true she does not on those
national polls score as well, but you know, if the
reporting is true. Joe Biden has asked to see polling
more specifically about the swing states as well, because I
you know, if she can bring in a governor from
Michigan or Pennsylvania, that may really be enough to swing

(34:29):
some of those key states that put a wom in
her column.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
I'll close with this, I said about a week ago
or so, and I brought up the nineteen sixty eight comparison,
and we're still headed to a convention in sixty eight
like sixty eight in Chicago. I said, well, the onely
three things that are left to happen is Biden, a
bow out, an assassination, and then a violent convention.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
Well two of those are out of the way and
here we go.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
So I suspect Biden'll make the announcement probably between now
and Sunday night from the Oval Office. We'll see and
then we'll take from there on Monday. Go get some rest.
What a long week.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
Just get me on a plane that takes off. How
about that. We're all in this together. This is your
morning show with Michael Vindel. Join them.
