Speaker 3 (00:19):
Two three starting your morning off right, A new way
of talk, a new way of understanding.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Because we're investigation.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
This is your morning show with Michael O'Dell John.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Six minutes after the hour.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Good morning, and welcome to Monday, July, the twenty second
year of our Lord, the twenty twenty four And I
think you all know what happened on July twenty first.
Joe Biden has dropped out of the twenty twenty four
White House presidential race, endorsing in a later tweet Vice
President Harris for the job. Clinton's were quick to amend
that bill and Hillary, of course, she was their candidate.
(00:59):
The Obamas not so fast. Meanwhile, the Dems are busy
trying to get all the money and all the delegate
momentum to go to Kamalas so they can have a
big Kumbai jan Chicago at the DNC convention, but not
so fast. The money isn't completely hers yet, and the
delegates they're definitely not hers yet. And there's a lot
of lawsuits that could be coming down the road. Oh
(01:20):
and Biden's out, but his cheetle next Secret Service Director
Kimberley Cheadle will be on Capitol Hill to testify today.
And Xanderschoffley won the Open with the final round sixty
five two strokes over Justin Rose and Billy Horschel. All Right,
if you're just waking up, you know the what Biden's out?
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Why?
Speaker 2 (01:38):
And what's next? And how will it all work? And
what are some realities and hurdles that lie ahead. It's
already been a crazy political year. What on earth would
make you think it's going to get any less crazy?
Prem Here David Zanati is the host of The Public Square,
heard on two hundred stations Nation White. He's also the
CEO of the American Policy Roundtable and a expert regular
(01:59):
roun the show show.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Well, David, there's the big news.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
We're following the nineteen sixty eight We've had our assassination
attempt Praise God. It didn't work, and now we have
our president dropping out. Sure it looks like nineteen sixty
eight or is it twenty twenty. What do you think?
Speaker 4 (02:12):
Well, yeah, and except for the timing on the process,
which really has got things complicated. But there's another factor.
No one really and it's an excellent question, by the way,
Michael un Good morning. The fact is is that no
one questioned Lyndon Johnson's competence to do the job. No,
that would have been dangerous because he was a very
(02:33):
large man who was a close talker, and he was
known to grab not just dogs by the ears, but
congressmen as well. So there was no question that LBJ
was competent. This was really a question of politics and
electoral capacity, and he got out much much earlier. So
there's something wrong about this process. If I could share
(02:55):
anything with you and your listeners today, down deep inside,
every everybody knows there's something wrong about this process. I
would even say it's got a very adolescent, almost juvenile
approach to it, sort of like somebody got caught where
they weren't supposed to be and now they're really quickly
trying to change the subject.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
So they knew Joe Biden had cognitive issues when they
ran him in twenty twenty, and they hit him. They
had the ability to hide him during COVID. They changed
election laws with COVID. They got him in kind of
like a trojan horse. Then he wouldn't leave. Then they
decided to move forward with him, and the debate outs everything,
and then a couple of disastrous interviews. Then the money
(03:37):
starts drying up, Hollywood drives up, the media starts getting
after him, and then finally his own constituents get after
him and they force him out. That's nothing like Linda Johnson.
Linda and Johnson got out very early. Vietnam suggested he
couldn't win. That was the checkmate. You had Robert Kennedy
enter the race. You had an anti war candidate in McCarthy,
an anti civil rights candidate in Wallace, and they hand
(03:59):
over things than to their vice president. In the end,
Kennedy gets killed, Humphrey gets the nomination, Nixon wins the election.
Talking to the silent center that had enough of this
circuit show. So it really is interesting to see can
they craft a deal. And I always look at Podesta
and Soros, and I noticed Alex Soros was quick to
jump on the kamalo vandwagon, But where is Podesta and
(04:20):
he's still got to appease the Obama apparatus. I would think,
if it's a twenty twenty route, what should we keep
our eyes on twenty twenty or nineteen sixty eight?
Speaker 4 (04:30):
Well, I do think this is unique. I don't think
this is sixty eight. So I think what we've got
is a situation where what we need to keep our
eyes on is really how how will the voting public
let the left get away with this? Is there going
to be a number of people who rise up and say,
(04:51):
wait a minute, see the point that you made earlier,
that they hit him in the basement in twenty twenty
is significant that we've got to go back to the
beginning and asked the question, at what point was a
common knowledge when John Podeska was at the desk, or
when claim was the chief of staff, when Kamala Harris
was in the room, at what point did it become
(05:14):
obvious that Joe Biden was not competent for the job.
Because it became obvious to the whole world in the debate,
and with that being the case, there is a sense
of moral culpability here, but it doesn't stop there. He's
still president of the United States. Now, You've asked the
question on the show many times, and I don't think
(05:36):
it can be asked enough. If you can't run for
the office, can you hold the office?
Speaker 2 (05:43):
N So the way I always asked it was who's
really running this country? Because it's clearly not Joe? All right,
So yeah, that's the but that's where you get back
to the voters.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
All right.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
So Lyndon Johnson early and it was his choice, and
he was cognitively of his faculties, so there was no
problem with him finishing out his term.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Joe Biden not the case.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
And they've been covering it up, and they ran them
covering it up, and these people cast their votes, and
these delegates are his and they don't have a right
to take them back. That's a problem. So they can
play the democracy card, they can play the if you
can't run, you can't serve. They can play the cover
up and put the weight on Kamala Harris of that
cover up. That's all easy, well and done. Problem is,
(06:24):
can you get a word in edgewise? He's going to
control the media everybody's focused on this, not the assassination
or the RNC convention anymore.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
Well stated again, will the media? Now here's the big issue.
The media got burned the Democrats, Podesta, Soros and company
burned the United States media. They let the United States
media be a part of an intentional cover up in
regards to Joe Biden's competency, and that cover up is
still going on today. The question is, as all of
(06:56):
this rolls out, will the American media will which Woodward
and Bernstein? Will the New York Times? Will the Washington
Post take a back seat and let the circus proceed
while all the adolescents run away and join the circus?
Is that what's really going to happen? Or somebody to say,
excuse me, is there nothing you won't do to put
people at risk to retain power?
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Well, yeah, because that's the bottom of mine. Once they saw,
I mean, what was the final straw Katzenberg telling him
the money's drying up? Virginia showing Trump up by two,
Michigan showing Trump up by seven. Oh, we can't win,
so heck with the voters. Now we're going to make
a switch. That's a much different scenario david Sonati joining
us from the American Policy Roundtable. All right, so here
(07:39):
we go. That's what happened. What's next? And I kind
of view the first question being the voters. Are they
going to view their right to vote as sacred and
having voted and now someone taking it away a tremendous violation?
And will they keep focused on the policy that have failed?
(08:00):
And it really doesn't matter which face you interchange on
the ticket?
Speaker 4 (08:05):
Talk about a food fight, huh right? I mean, here
are the defenders, immortal defenders of democracy or just basically
in one page, just crunching it all up and throwing
it away and saying, well, we can't win, so let's
do something different. What about all those primary elections that
were held in all fifty states that are suddenly no
longer a valid Well, Joe doesn't want the job anymore.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Wait a second, what about the virtual vote for Ohio
in one week?
Speaker 5 (08:31):
So?
Speaker 4 (08:31):
Where do we go now? Is the right question? You
and I were talking last night. If I was running
this operation right now from a policy perspective, I would
have six full time lawyers who probably would have eighteen
inch files each because there are so many areas of
questions we've got the Federal Elections Commission, We've got the
state election laws, We've got federal election laws. I mean,
(08:54):
we've got a mess. We've got constitutionality.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Questions, to which I chimed in about it as a
getaway car, all right, for Kamala Harris, there are four
tires on this getaway car. One of your attorneys would
be going to the FEC about all this money and
who it really belongs to. The other would be going
to them to talk about delegates and the constitutional rights
of those votes that have been cast. The other would
be looking at this Ohio virtual reality vote. And then
(09:20):
the final one would be you know some of these
policies that are unfinished business. I mean you could just
sit and I said to you, are you kidding me? Turnabouts?
Fair play right, Goose, say hello to Gander. Now Donald
Trump is in the driver's seat for Lawfair.
Speaker 6 (09:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
Now Lawfair suddenly comes dropping on the lack of the
Republicans because there's lawsuits all over the place. What about
just a group of delegates who decide they feel that
they've been ripped off and they sue because this isn't
a fair process. I mean, there is a lot of
mischief with potential ahead here, because but what we're really seeing,
if people can have eyes to see, what we're really
(09:58):
seeing is the prigmate that dominates the Democrat Party, and
in fact it dominates both parties. But in this case
it's being exposed in the Democrat Party. Is that power
is all that matters? The heck with the rules. If
we can tie up our opponent in law fair, whether
the suits make any sense or out or get thrown off,
doesn't matter. Just tie them up. If we can switch
candidates and violate all those primaries, who cares, just get
(10:20):
the power.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
They called it a shadow campaign to save democracy. Many
on the right call that's stealing an election. Call it
what you want. The first time they did it, they
stole it from Republicans. This time they're stealing it from
their own voters. That makes it different. I hope that
makes it crystal clear. All right, continue with David Zanatti.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
I look down.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Here's another key in tangible they may not hear anywhere else.
I look down and I look at the ten Senate
seats that they stand to lose. I mean they're leaning
towards flip. I'll here's anything to do in Montana or
West Virginia. That's just writing on the wall. But Ohio, Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin. Gee,
those states also match this the electoral college map where
(10:59):
they're having a problem. Can they find a solution for
both in one in this ticket as it sorts out, well,
that would be the hope.
Speaker 4 (11:08):
The problem is how do we get there now. I
would have to say, Michael that while ten seats are
in play and the polling is all over the place
right now, the predictable, most normative pattern without some serious
form of real change in the states would indicate that
maybe there's two seats that are going Republican and the
(11:30):
rest hold. For example, we've talked about this before, the
idea of uprooting Sharon Brown in Ohio with Bernie Marino.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
I have.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
That one solid blue Yeah, I just it would take
such an overwhelming top of the ticket number that would
work its way down. It's not impossible, but it's just
not likely because if the old line is if you're
going to give the Republicans the wheel of the presidency,
make sure you put the brakes on somewhere. And there's
a lot of people that feel that way. They'll vote for.
(12:00):
But then they'll absolve themselves in the fear of making
a mistake by making sure they put that Democrat back
in the Senate. So that's very likely to be the
mindset in Ohio and Pennsylvania. So you know the chances
of that ten clip happening. I mean, it would take
a lot more than where we are right now.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
All right, we only have one minute, but let's let
me throw some names by. All right, Senator Mark Kelly,
Navy pilot astronaut, Gabby Gifford's husband, Arizona Senate. You could
firm up that Senate seat, maybe even take Arizona and
the electoral college map.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
There's some strengths there.
Speaker 4 (12:27):
Not an electoral votes that he looks too goofy.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
And very low name recognition is what I put. Governor
of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer again a key swing state. You
could address that at the bottom of the ticket, but
not if it's Kamala. I don't think they're going to
run two women. Governor Josh Shapiro is a wild card,
key swing state. There is no path for the Democrats
without Pennsylvania. He's young, he's popular, and if there is
(12:52):
no Gavin Newsom. That could be an interesting face. Governor
Wes Moore of Maryland, I think is their future Obama
and Star and I don't think are going to risk
him as a commodity in this free for all. They're
going to save him for down the road. We still
don't know about Michelle Obama. If you can't, this is
why I keep bringing up the Clinton and the Obama apparatus. Look,
(13:12):
the Clinton apparatus with Podesta and Soros in the middle,
are happy they've got Kamala. They still got to do
something for the Obama apparatus. And if they don't, Michelle
could still be a threat. And then what do you
do with RFK in all of this mix?
Speaker 4 (13:27):
Yeah, and that's the question no one's talking about right now,
because if people do come to understand this as a
cover up, they do have a certain genuine discuss with
the whole process, it's going to be a lot easier
for disaffected voters from the Democrat Party to go to RFK,
not to Trump. And that's the hole in this bucket.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
Because if you don't absorb Burfk, he's still the decision
maker in terms of drawing votes. Because anybody that's disenfranchised
with what the Democrats did to them, are going to
relate to Rfko was an independent because of what the
Democrats did to him. If the Democrat, yeah, he's the
big winner in all of this. Kamala Kelly, Kamala Shapiro
is where I think they're head. Yeah, don't you just
(14:08):
as obvious as everything looks.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
They take Pennsylvania Trump only almost has no.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Capital anything else.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
In closing, I mean we talked about I think I
want to end with Dana Perino's quote, which was, if
this is July, the heck is coming for an October surprise.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
I mean, Michael, this is eight days that will live
in history books, the Last eight Days Adventure, and we'll.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
Play out on the streets as it did in sixty
eight in Chicago.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Still to come.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
David's a not with the American Policy Roundtable and host
of The Public squareheard on Turner Stations.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Appreciate your insights.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
This is your morning show with Michael del Trono.
Speaker 2 (14:48):
At the end of the day, I think you know overall,
all right, Biden's out Now what somebody cue the circus music.
Tammy Trehuilo has our road to the White House.
Speaker 7 (14:58):
President Biden is dropping out of the twenty twenty four
presidential race and endorsing his VP Kamala. Harris Fine released
a statement on x Sunday saying it's time for him
to step down and focus on the rest of his presidency.
The Democratic National Convention is only four weeks away. It's
unclear whether the party will back Harris are off for
an open primary should the answer be Harris Massachusetts Senator
(15:20):
Elizabeth Warren says she'll have plenty of choices for a
running mate.
Speaker 8 (15:24):
I think she's got a lot of good people out
there she can pick from. We got a deep bench,
and that's good.
Speaker 7 (15:29):
Biden's move is something that hasn't been seen in over
five decades. It comes after weeks of Democratic leaders increasingly
expressing concerns about the eighty one year old's mental fitness
and his path to victory over Donald Trump. I'm Tammy TRHEO.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
That's the problem. You play some circus music, a clown
shows up, Elizabeth Warren.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
The Democratic delegation from at least five states have quickly
joined in to try to get Kamala closer to the
nineteen hundred and eighty six magic number. Chris Caragio has
the story.
Speaker 6 (15:58):
Tennessee became the state delegation of fully pledged their support
for Harris. North Carolina, South Carolina, New Hampshire, and Louisiana
later followed. The national finance chair for the Biden Victory
Fund told NBC News that he believes there will be
enough pledge delegates for Harris to be the nominee by
the end of business Wednesday. The Democratic National Convention to
(16:19):
nominate the party's candidate for president is set to be
held next month.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
I'm Chris Carancio.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Well, there is a pathway for Kamala Harris to have
access to the money, but she also has the weight
of the cover up of old Joe and the policies
that failed. A new Trump pack ad accuses Vice President
Harris of just that. Lisa Cardin has the details.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
Donald Trumps supporters are accusing VP Kamala Harris of covering
up President Biden's struggles. A Trump Pack just launched a
new Adamala was in on it. She covered up Joe's
obvious mental decline.
Speaker 4 (16:54):
Our president is in good shape, in good.
Speaker 8 (16:56):
Health, tireless, vibrant, Kamalin knu Joe couldn't do that job,
so she did it.
Speaker 5 (17:01):
Republicans want Biden to resign immediately. I'm Lisa Carton.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Twister number one at the box office. I actually saw
it. It was good.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
Not as good as the Democratic Party Twisters, but it
was good. And Xanderschoffley wins the Open with a sixty
five final round two strokes over Justin Rose and Billy Horschell.
That's your top five stories of the day. I am Michael.
I'd love to have you listen to your morning show live.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Every day.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
We're heard on great stations like news Talk five point
fifty k f YI and Phoenix News Radio eleven ninety
k EX in Portland and ten ninety The Patriot in CPP.
Make us a part of your morning routine. We'd love
to have you listen live, but in the meantime, enjoy
the podcast. All right, Well, you know the big news.
Joe Biden's out. Now, what for Van Jones?
Speaker 1 (17:43):
You cry? Are these tears of joy? Crocodile tears?
Speaker 2 (17:48):
Here's Van Jones Obama operative on CNN yesterday.
Speaker 9 (17:52):
Even people who are pushing for this to happen. It's
kind of like like when you when your grandpa gees
and everybody, you gotta take us keys. You gotta take
us key, and he's fighting, and he's fighting. Everybody's so frustrated,
and then you finally get the keys back, come to tears,
and then you just cry because this is somebody that
you love, This is somebody that you care about, This
is somebody who was there for This is somebody you
(18:13):
wouldn't be here without him, and you had to take
something from him. Now, this is not Look, this is politics.
It's politics, but this is a human moment for one
of the great humans in America. This is a huge
moment for him, for his family.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
For all that.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
They also went on to say, this is true leadership.
This is leadership. This is a true moment. By the way,
if you've got to take his keys away from running
for president, you might want to take his keys away
from controlling the nuclear weapons and codes.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Aaron Royal is joining us, all right.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
So what we're really seeing play out is how can
the Democrats spin this take away their own voters, votes
and delegates in order to do what they want to
do politically. And twenty twenty they did it to save
democracy and hurt Trump. Now they're going to do it
and try to get away with it with their own
voters question as well. They we outlined how the money
(19:04):
belongs to them, the delegates. There's nineteen hundred and eighty
six to get in the Kamala camp. She's got five
hundred and thirty one early pledge to her. That's a
long way to go.
Speaker 4 (19:14):
That's a long way to go.
Speaker 10 (19:15):
But she's going to be the nominie. I mean, I
don't have any inside information, but if you listen to
or speak with any Democratic operative or folks who do
this for a living and understand the insides and outs
of this, she's going to be it. There might they
want to make it look democratic in a lot of ways,
they're going to, you know, have this open convention, but
(19:36):
it's her.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Well, in twenty twenty, you had the Clinton Coalition and
the Obama Coalition, both representing two term presidents Obama and
Bill Clinton, kind of combined to create the Biden Harris ticket.
Keep in mind Harris attacked Biden viciously. She was also
the first to lose out in the primary process and exit.
(20:00):
He's a proven bad campaigner. You know, I noticed that
Bill and Hillary were very quick to endorse Kamala. I
noticed Alex Soros was very quick to praise Kamala and endorser,
and then I noticed the Obamas didn't.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
That's a pretty big loud didn't.
Speaker 10 (20:17):
It is allowed, didn't. It's less than twenty four hours.
They might by the end to day. It's possible. You know,
it's possible, and it's possible they might not. But the party,
you know, some say they would be better off with
a more competitive selection process and there could be this
party sanctioned forum across the country with these party delegates
ultimately deciding the nominee. Again, this is August nineteenth in
(20:39):
Chicago to the twenty second, when on August twenty second
they're scheduled to deliver the acceptance speech. Whoever that nominee is,
I would be shocked if it turns out to be
anyone other than Kamala Harris. It just makes sense. It's
who's going to be issued. Also, by the way, great
for money. In less than twenty four hours since announcing
(21:00):
the presidency and changing the name from the Biden Harris
campaign to I believe it is Harris, Yeah, Harris for President,
she was able to bring in over fifty million in
less than twenty four hours from this, according to Akblu,
which is the Democratic donation processing site. So it's the
biggest fundraising day of the twenty twenty four cycle campaign
(21:22):
by far. She already had ninety six million in campaign
coffers that are going to be transferred directly to her.
By the way, can only be transferred to her if
she is the candidate. That money does not go to
a new candidate just because Biden endorses them, but because
she was on the ticket and she just moves to
the top of the ticket, the money simply goes to
her campaign. So financially it makes more sense. Logistically, it
(21:42):
makes more sense. And also it seems like she's a
great fundraiser, and now it's just a matter of getting
the party to coalesce behind her and a party that
has been in disarray for the past.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (21:51):
I mean, well that's certainly since the debate, that's the.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
Political path forward. There could be some legal challenges along
the way. Also, I had Andrew email me, I thought
I'd do it while I was with you. He says,
you keep it from nineteen sixty eight, Well, how would
it play out if it was nineteen sixty eight. Well,
if it's nineteen sixty eight, you have wars that make
a problem for an incumbent president. In sixty eight, it
was the Vietnam War. After the Ted defensive and after
a week long broadcast from Walter Cronkite, it didn't look
(22:15):
like it was going well. So you had an anti
war movement that forced LBJ out. Now you have Israel
and Ukraine kind of a quinkydekey. Then you had an
assassination of first Martin Luther King and then RFK, which
was significant. We had an assassination attempt on Trump. You
had LBJ leave the race. You now have Biden leave
the race. So where does it go from here? Well,
in sixty eight you had an anti war candidate and McCarthy.
(22:38):
You had an anti civil rights candidate in Wallace, you
had the vice president, the Kamala, then was Herbert Humphrey,
and then you had the Camelot candidate RFK, who was
later killed. Eventually they give it to Humphrey in a
very contentious violent on the streets and fisticuffs even inside
the convention hall in sixty eight. Guess where the convention
(22:59):
is again this year, eighteen sixty eight. You still got
to figure out what to do with RFK. He would
certainly benefit from this if RFK wants to play the
card and say, you know, look what they did to
me in this process. Now look what they've done to
your votes. He's out there. Obama is going to have
a candidate. I don't think it's going to be Gavin Newsome,
but he's going to have a say or threaten Michelle.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
I don't know. I think there's if you have multiple candidates.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
It points to sixty eight and how did it end
In sixty eight Nixon talked to the Silent Center, not
paying attention to the circus and he won. So nineteen
sixty eight would suggest it is Kamala Harris and she
will lose to Donald Trump. Just to answer Andrew's question,
but you know, if this I want to end with
Dana Parina's quote on Fox. She said, well, if this
(23:44):
is the July surprise, what the heck is October coming?
Speaker 1 (23:47):
So I chew the circus music.
Speaker 10 (23:52):
It's so true, It is so true, and you're right there.
While there are historical references here, this is also historical
in and of itself. It could play out that way,
and history is an important indicator for what's going to
happen in the future, or it might be something different.
And you mentioned legal challenges. I would be shocked if
there weren't several legal challenges coming from this. I anticipate
there will be, and that could throw a wrench of things.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
That's why I say goose meat gander. I mean, now
Donald Trump and the Republicans are in the lawfair driver's seat,
and uh oh, payback is well, you know what it is.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Eron great reporting. We'll talk again tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
If you're just waking up forty two minutes after the hour,
these are your top five stories of the day. Well,
Joe Biden's out. What's the old expression, careful what you
ask for? Joe's gone? And spin is in Tammy Trejuilo
has our today in politics.
Speaker 7 (24:45):
After dropping his bid for re election, President Biden, Endorris,
Vice President Kamala Harris, and Democrats are lining up to
backer for president. Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth warrens at a strong woman,
scare's former President Trump.
Speaker 8 (24:58):
Think about Vice President Harris's years as a prosecutor.
Speaker 5 (25:04):
She's someone who's gone.
Speaker 8 (25:06):
Toe to toe with people who bluster, people who bully,
people who lie, and she has held them accountable.
Speaker 7 (25:15):
Recent polls are showing a close race between Trump and Harris.
Should she be the nominee. A CNN poll of poll's
average show Trump has forty eight percent, while Harris holds
forty seven percent. Harris may not have a lock on
being the Democratic nominee, though independent West Virginia Senator Joe
Manchin is reportedly considering re registering as a Democrat in
(25:36):
order to challenge Harris for the party's presidential nomination. That's politics,
I'm Tammy Trujillo NBC News Radio.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
I said, when they kind of manipulated the twenty twenty
Senate elections, Joe Manchin just became the most powerful political
figure in American history. Looks like he still is moder
reconsider and run with him. Wouldn't that be a ticket
RFK Mansion what I wanted him to do months ago?
(26:08):
All Right, somebody asked me over the weekend, Well, you
predicted he'd be gone by Monday show. Now tell me
what the ticket will be. I actually think it's going
to end up being Kamala Harris and Josh Shapiro. That'll
put Pennsylvania. They got to win Pennsylvania. That'll put that
on the map. A lot of people have been hitting
around about Mark Kelly. He may be on a short
list of Kamala gets the top of the ticket, and
(26:28):
he was quick to endorse Kamala Harris this weekend.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Chris Caragio has details interposed on an X.
Speaker 6 (26:34):
The former NASA astronaut and US Navy combat pilot said
he couldn't be more confident that Vice President Kamala Harris
is the right person to defeat Donald Trump. Kelly added
he and his wife, former Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Gifferts, will
do everything they can to help Harris win the election.
Political analysts have named Kelly as one of the possible
choices to be Harris's running mate. Other names have included
(26:56):
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Kentucky Governor Andy Basheer.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
I'm Chris Croncio.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
A new Trump pack ad accuses Vice President Harris of
covering up Biden's struggles.
Speaker 1 (27:06):
That didn't take long. Lisa Cardon has the report.
Speaker 5 (27:08):
Donald Trump's supporters are accusing VP Kamala Harris of covering
up President Biden's struggles. A Trump Pack just launched a
new ad. Kamala was in on it. She covered up
Joe's obvious mental decline.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
Our president is in good shape, in good.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Health, tireless, vibrant.
Speaker 5 (27:24):
Kamalin knew Joe couldn't do the job, so she did it.
Republicans want Biden to resign immediately. I'm Lisa Carton, Well,
Joe's out, can Cheat'll be far behind. Secret Service Director
Kimberly Cheatah will be on Capitol Hill today as lawmaker's
demand answers over the attempt on former President Trump's life.
She'll testify before the House Oversight Committee, where she'll be
(27:45):
questioned over how a sniper was allowed to get within
shooting distance of a former president in Pennsylvania. Many lawmakers
are calling for Cheetle to step down or be fired.
The Department of Homeland Securities Inspector General is also investigating
the shooting, and reports the gunman was flagged as suspicious
roughly twenty minutes before shots were fired, and Trump was
still allowed to go on stage.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
Twisters tore it up lots of debris and dollar bills
over the.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Weekend at the box office, bringing in eighty point five
million dollars. Despicable Meet four and Inside and Out We're
second and third, respectively, And two months after exaner Schoffley
captured his first major, the PGA Championship at Valhalla and Kentucky.
He got his second, the one hundred and fifty second
Open Championship at Royal Troon Shoffley Windsley Open, with a
(28:31):
sixty five final round two strokes over Justin Rose and
Billy Horschel.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
Hi, I'm Dennis, people of Mississippi in my morning show.
Is your morning show? When Michael bell Jorno, this is
your morning show. I am Michael del Jorno.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
We're joined by your morning show correspondent Rory O'Neil well.
Rory Biden is out as I said he would be.
They're trying to coordinate Kamala. The Clintons were quick to
endorse Kamala, the Biden's not so much.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
What do you make that? Yeah? Interesting?
Speaker 11 (29:01):
And also, you know, the Obamas not yet, Nancy Pelosi,
Chuck Schumer not yet. I'm not sure if that means
they're going to do a separate event intentionally, like they
want to drag it out and make it three separate
news events to keep her in the headlines, or is
this something a bit more you know, questionable, a foot
a little more palace intrigue than we may have suspected.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
David s Andatti brought this up. I thought it was
a great point.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
They're going to own the media and the news cycle
really for the next month or so as this circus
plays out. And the question is will everybody witness a
circus as they did in sixty eight or a uniting
of a party behind a candidate that can actually win
and then actually serve well. Time will tell on that.
Where does that leave Cheatle?
Speaker 1 (29:45):
And the whole.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Focus that was on the assassination attempt of Donald Trump?
Is that certainly kicked out of the news cycle.
Speaker 11 (29:51):
All right, And we're just starting that today with this
oversight hearing with Chairman Comer happening in a couple hours.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
That should be a barnburner. It's a six hour hearing,
lots of questions.
Speaker 11 (30:03):
We've got bipartisan calls for Cheadle to step aside, so
it'll be fascinating to see exactly what she has to say.
Apparently some have leaked her prepared remarks where she will
admit that it was a failure of the Secret Service
on that Saturday in Pennsylvania.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
So that's one step.
Speaker 11 (30:20):
But we'll see now if either the President, I'm not
sure the Department of Homeland Security secretary has the authority
to fire her, but we'll see if maybe they take action.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
All right, there is a coronation process underway, and if
you can get the soros'es, the Podesta's, the Clinton's, the
Tennessee Louisiana and other delegates all to start building some momentum,
that's all well and good. But you would think between
Joe Biden Kamala Harris, you could end all this focus
on the assassination attempt by just firing Cheetle. I mean,
(30:50):
that's one that's easy to get off your plate. I
suspect that's coming in days.
Speaker 11 (30:54):
Yeah, it seems like low hanging fruit is design already.
Speaker 1 (30:58):
And yeah, so that seems easy. Well, I mean especially
don't forget.
Speaker 11 (31:02):
Now we've got the DNZ coming up in Chicago, which
is something where security is in the purview of the
Secret Service for that. So now you know, thankfully I'm
knocking out Wood. The RNC went well, But do you
want the same people in charge of the DNC after
what happened in Pennsylvania.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
I try not to.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
Put journalists and news people in bad positions as a
talk show host, so let me phrase this carefully. The
Democrats call it a shadow campaign to save the democracy.
That's how they won in twenty twenty. They controlled the media,
They could silence any opposing views because they controlled social
media and technocracy, and then they changed election laws after
(31:40):
weaponizing COVID. That's how they pulled it off in the
swing States. That's what they say.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
All right.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
If that's the case, that's one thing when you're doing
what you have to do to get an outcome that
defeats Donald Trump. But now you're playing politics with their
votes and RFK AOC already. Maybe Manchin, who's saying he's
considered reregistering as a Democrat and running for president. Other
candidates could make this really as a narrative spin out
(32:06):
of control for them and quickly.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
Yeah, but it seems that instead they're endorsing Harris.
Speaker 11 (32:11):
I think a lot of them are looking at that
VP slot for Harris and seeing that as the springboard that, Okay,
Harris may stink and she loses against Trump. I've only
got a run for VP for what five months? And
if we tank, fine, but now I'm the front runner
in twenty eight So.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
You bring that up, that put that's and that would
be something for Mark Kelly, who desperately needs name recognition.
He doesn't have it in Arizona. Josh Shapiro and Wes
Moore are the two I think are their future. Josh
Shapiro in the very key swing state of Pennsylvania. He's
only I think fifty or fifty one. He's young, he's articulate.
Gavin Newson probably still has some aspirations. But I think
(32:48):
for the party, especially the Obama apparatus side of the party,
all Governor Wes Moore from Maryland is their future star.
Now that's a tough question. Do you run him and
lose for name recognition? So you go, oh, Kamaa lost it,
But that guy was good. He should have a future.
I think he's the one that stands the most to
gain from that right.
Speaker 11 (33:07):
And I would say yes to all three of those,
either Kelly, Shapiro or more one two three, it all
would do well to run for the next three or
four months, as as the number two on that ticket.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
And okay, recognition already a crazy year. We were expecting
a crazy year, crazier than you thought. And how crazy?
Speaker 1 (33:25):
How crazy can it get? It's been a crazy decade.
In a week, but you found a flight home, So
you can't at that.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
All right, Roy O'Neil, your Morning show correspondent, thanks for
joining us. We're always gonna be back. Next how we're
going to talk a little bit more about the future
for the party ticket. We'll do the same with our
White House correspondent John Decker in minutes.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
This can play one of two ways, and I think
the ultimate say is going to be the American people.
Do the American people see what has been all along?
And this is what I've been saying. Look, if Joe
Biden cognitively impaired or not, but even cognitive effirent, his
cognitive impairment impairment has nothing to do with the chaos
(34:07):
at the border. Their policies in worldview does, or the
amount of spending and debt and government control that had
nothing to do with this cognitive ability. That's their worldview,
that's their policy view, that's their platform. Will the American
people distinguish policies over personalities in a bait and switch?
Will they protect the Roust Belt or the West Coast?
(34:27):
The Senate seats that are really looking like they could
be flipped are all the same states that are trouble
on the electoral college map and how does this all
play out.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
We're all in this together. This is your Morning Show
with Michaeldell chowing on
