Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, gang, it's me Michael. You can listen to your
morning show live. Make us a part of your morning
routine or your drive to work companion on great stations
like Talk Radio ninety eight point three and fifteen ten
WLAC in Nashville, Tupelos News and Talk one oh one
point one and ten sixty WKMQ, and how about Talk
six fifty KSTE in Sacramento, California. Love to have you

(00:21):
listen live, but are grateful you're here now for the
podcast Enjoy.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Well two three starting your morning off right, A new way.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Of talk, a new way of understanding well. Because we're
in litigific. This is your morning show with Michael del trun.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Yeah, live from the Chris Berry Studios in Nashville, Tennessee,
on the air and streaming live on your iHeartRadio app.
This is your morning show, and I'm Michael del Truona.
If you're just waking up. Israel retaliating after Hesbelah rocket
attacks killed twelve children and Israeli occupied Golan heights, Trump
commits out our rallies. In fact, he's headed back to Pennsylvania,

(01:03):
and the Harris campaign brags of two hundred million dollars
in her first week of candidacy, and that's a lot
of money. The US leads the world in the Olympics
with twelve total medals that includes three gold, six silver,
and three bronze, and four more than the next closest country,
the host country, France, and a big story. President Biden
expected to propose several changes to the US Constitution today,

(01:26):
following through on his promises to reform the Supreme Court.
White House correspondent and attorney John Decker, who is a
I might add Supreme Court bar attorney, on what the
president has planned. Good morning, John, Hey, good morning to you.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Hope you're doing well today. Michael, good.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Kind of walk through this that there's most I would
I don't know if you agree. A lot of the
focuses on the limits and the ethic changes to the
Supreme Court, and on the term limits. It's difficult because
the politicians themselves in the legislative branch don't have term limits.
Joe Biden himself has served forty eight years, six thirty

(02:06):
six of them non term limited. So they're going to
battle the gooset meet the gander on this. But what
is this agenda and why does this president think he
can get it done in one hundred days.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
Well, this is not an agenda that can be done
in one hundred days because what would be required. What
would be required constitutional amendments, they do not get done
in one hundred days, So they take literally years sometimet
to get done, and I think the President Biden is
well aware of that. So this would be a proposal
that could start in the process while he's president, but

(02:39):
it certainly would not end while he's president. As you mentioned,
three proposals that he's putting forward. One an amendment involving
no immunity for crimes a former president committed in office.
He's calling that that no one is above the law amendment.
The next one is also an amendment to the constitution

(03:00):
term limits for Supreme Court justices. What he is proposing
is a system in which the president would appointed justice
every two years to spend eighteen years in active service
on the Supreme Court. And lastly, a binding code of
conduct for the Supreme Court. That is something that could
be done by Congress, not by constitutional amendment. But again,

(03:21):
all of these ideas are things that I think he
was thinking about proposing when he was still a candidate
for president. For a second term. He no longer is
a candidate for president for a second term, and it's
going to be interesting to see Michael whether or not
the Vice President is going to push for these changes
as it relates to the Supreme Court that her boss,

(03:44):
President Biden is pushing for.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
As Barack Obama used to remind us, often elections have consequences.
I think to bring up the role of the Supreme
Court and how important it is when you elect presidents
and the potential for them to fill vacated Supreme courses,
I think that's fair game. The other it kind of
starts feeling like a hypocritical road to nowhere. If you will,

(04:12):
it's not going to happen. And when we look at
the makeup of the Senate, couldn't happen in the next
hundred days. But we look at the next Senate, even
if Kamala Harris were to win, it doesn't look good
in West Virginia, which means if it doesn't look good
in West Virginia, that's fifty to fifty, and then you've
got to run the table in Montana, Pennsylvania, Michigan, to battle, Ohio, Arizona, Wisconsin, Delaware.
So it's quick for me to dismiss this as just

(04:33):
well the no one above the law, that's unfinished business
with Trump, and they don't like the way the Supreme
Court ruled. As far as term limits, My gosh, we
haven't discussed term limits and how long for Congress even so,
pretty much, what do you make of all this? Or
what should we make of all this?

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Well, what I should make of it, what you should
make of it? Is a reminder in terms of what
would be required to pass a constitutional amendment. To actually
add an amendment to the Constitution, amendment is proposed by
two thirds vote of both houses of Congress, and then
the amendment must then be ratified by three fourths of
the state legislators. We're talking about thirty seven states. You

(05:14):
see how difficult it is to add amendments to the Constitution.
How there are so few that have been added since
the original ten amendments the Bill of Rights to the Constitution.
And that's why this idea that he will put forward
today at the LBJ Presidential Library in Texas is really
pie in the sky. It's not going to happen. It's

(05:35):
certainly not going to happen with the makeup of Congress
right now, and it's not going to happen with the
makeup of state legislatures in all fifty states. So the
interesting ideas the kind of thing that you may talk
about at a law school seminar, but it's not something
that's going to become reality in this country now with two.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Thirds of Congress and now with three fourths of state
legislatures anytime. Might want to move on to curing cancer
right those last hundred days. John Decker is always what
a pleasure talk to again tomorrow, all right, eleven minutes
after the hour if you're just waking up. Lee's hi
on Top five Stories of the Day, Numero uno. Former
President Donald Trump says he will continue holding outdoor rallies

(06:17):
following an attempt on his life earlier this month, including
heading back to Butler, PA. Mark Mayfield reports. Mark Mayfield
reports in.

Speaker 5 (06:28):
A post on truth Social Sunday, Trump send the Secret
Service has agreed to substantially heightened protection at those events.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
He did not provide any.

Speaker 5 (06:36):
Details on what additional steps might be taken. Trump said
on Friday he plans to head back to Butler, Pennsylvania,
where the assassination attempt took place, to hold another campaign rally.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
I'm Mark Mayfield.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Vice President Harris headed to Houston this week for the
funeral of Representative Sila Jackson Lee. Chris Caragio has the details.

Speaker 6 (06:53):
Harris will attend Thursday's service for her longtime friend and
sorority sister. The two were both members of the country
First Historically Black Sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha, and frequently work
together on shared legislative issues in Congress. Jackson Lee passed
away earlier this month after battling cancer. Thursday's trip to
Houston will be Harris's third visit to the lone.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Star State in the last month. I'm Chris Kraschio. Meanwhile,
Transportation Secretary Pete Boodhagen tried to score his VP stripes
as they were all out competing to be the VEEP
this weekend. They were on every talking headshow. As for
Mayor Pete, he wanted to focus on Trump's age his
well being as he now faces a much younger opponent

(07:37):
come November at LISTA Carden reports.

Speaker 7 (07:39):
In an interview with Fox New Sunday, Buddhajeedge argued that
Americans are worried about Trump's mental acuity at age seventy eight.

Speaker 8 (07:47):
And how could anybody not watch the stuff he's saying,
the rambling on the trail, and not be just a
little bit concerned.

Speaker 7 (07:53):
He said Trump is older and stranger than he was
when he began his political career. Boodhajeg is considered to
be up at cential running mate for Kamala Harris. I'm
Lisa Carton.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
New Hampshire Governor Chris Sanunu is dismissing former President Trump's
re mark that people won't have to vote anymore if
they elect him in November. The Republican governor told ABC
this week it was just classic trump Ism. He was
just making a hyperbolic point that he'll put the country
back on the right path. It's kind of right up

(08:25):
there with we got a dump jd vance. He hates
single women with cats. Venezuelan president Maduro and a opposition candidate, Gonzalez,
are both claiming victory after Venezuela's presidential election. The vote
was marred by accusations of foul play from both sides.
It was actually a very American event. Deadpool and Wolverine

(08:46):
smashed the box office for two hundred and five million dollars,
becoming the biggest r rated opening of all time, and
the US leads the world in total medals in gay PARTI.
Here's the latest on the Summer Games.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
The US men's basketball team is off to a winning
starred in Paris after smashing Nicola Jokic and Serbia one
ten eighty four Yesterday. Kevin Durant, returning from injury, sizzle
scoring twenty three to lead the US Lebron James at
twenty one. The women's hoops team makes it's debut today
facing Japan. Americans Lee Kiefer and Laurence Scruggs took home

(09:17):
gold and silver and women's fencing, Kiverer beating Scrugs in
the women's foil individual final to earn her second straight
Olympic gold medal, saying hard work over the last three
years has led to her success.

Speaker 9 (09:29):
Two years of blood, sweat and tears, and all the
people just uplifting me.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
The silver fir Scrugs came in her Olympic debut.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Overall, the US leads the medal count right now with twelve.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
Three of them are goalds.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Action today will include the US taking on China in
women's volleyball action and the men's gymnastics team is competing
in the team's final. This has been an NBC News
Radio Olympic report, and no, I don't.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Feel a need to boycott the Olympics. To me, athletes
be punished for the woke planning of a few. By
the way, I don't know what it is. We talked
about this earlier. There's just some sports, you know, we
always talk about that. Like I don't watch the WNBA.
I watched very little of the NBA. I don't watch
women's hockey, and I'm a huge fan of the NHL.

(10:18):
I'm a huge fan of NFL football. I don't watch
women's flag football or tackle football. Boy, but when it
comes to soccer, I don't know what it is. I
prefer women over men. And for the longest time my
favorite was Alex Morgan, Alec Morgan. Now it's Sophia Smith.
Two goals yesterday against Germany in a four to one win.

(10:40):
Her smile is just captivating, captivating, and her smile after
getting the first goal yesterday, all right, that got my
attention and then I just watched her. She is a dominant,
amazing electric athlete. To watch Sophia Smith and the women

(11:00):
big win against Jermy, a lot of drama in the pool,
and then a lot of drama with some own biles
after what happened four years ago, and then to be
injured in a warm up play through. That injury lead
the women in the qualifying round. Some really good Olympic
drama over the weekend in baseball, Rays Guardians and the
Guardians over the Phillies could be a preview of the

(11:22):
World Series. Mariners and Cardinals all won, Nats, Rangers and
Dbacks lost. Yesterday, Birthdays today. Charles Schwab is eighty seven
rushes talking about it.

Speaker 10 (11:33):
Play it's not too far from here. As a matter
of fact, it's called Lakeside Park. It seems like yesterday
to the radio. My brother Bobby had a great ear.
He brought home Rick Deringer before anybody knew who Rick
Deringer was. He brought home Rush before anybody knew who
Rush was. He brought home the cars before anybody knew
who the cars were. And I'll never forget in his

(11:54):
bedroom he puts on Rush in Lakeside Park. First time
I heard Chris tom Sawyer's mouth.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Yeah. Russia's Getty Lee is seventy one years old and
one of our Treasures originally from Kansas, but now residing
in Nashville. Martina McBride, make that a note today. If
you've never heard this song anyway, go listen to it
and its words. It'll get you focused. You won't fall
for all these narrative distraction games. Do not grow weary

(12:20):
in doing good anyway. One of my favorite all time
favorite songs ever Martina McBride is fifty eight years old.
And if it's your birthday, Happy birthday, So glad you
were born and thanks for making us a part of
your big day. This is your morning show with Michael
DELTRONA ways to communicate with us. There's the talkback button
on your iHeart app where you can instantly respond to

(12:42):
the things that we're talking about. And then again there's
good old fashioned email Michael d at iHeartMedia dot com,
where Karen writes, I was at the Nashville Bitcoin conference.
Trump left the stage at three forty six pm and
he was speaking on stage of Minnesota by seven pm
Nashville time. How can anyone think he's not fit? He

(13:02):
had to get off stage through traffic to the airport
on his plane there in reverse order to a stage
only Ma Repete is accusing him of not being fit.
Ma Repete. Who thinks you can have a racist bridge.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
Set it down, Simon down, Simon down.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Everybody's simmadah. This one from Kathy Michael. Kamala is not black.
Her father is Jamaican and her mother is Indian. What
makes her black the Jamaican part and the fact that
she identifies as such. Look, I had this conversation a lot,
and it got to be where if you didn't refer

(13:42):
to Barack Obama in specific blood makeup terms, somebody would
send you a nasty email. He's not half black. No,
I'm aware, he's fifty percent Caucasian, he's thirty six percent Arabic,
he's fourteen percent black. I get that. But also in

(14:04):
our culture moral relativism, he identifies as black, so you're
to refer to him as black, just like some people
identify as a woman, So you have to refer to
them as we, they us them, who ever it is.
According to a twenty twenty stir, I do want to
make this correction them so that you don't perpetuate this elsewhere,

(14:26):
or that anybody listening would fall for that. According to
a twenty twenty study, more than ninety percent of Jamaican's
identify as black. Well, yeah, but that identifying thing, that's
not a reality. Okay, Well, let's do the reality. If
you do Jamaica's gene pool, it's eighty point three percent
Sub Saharan African, ten percent European, five point seven East Asian.

(14:48):
Somebody's Jamaican, they're eighty percent black. And then again, if
they identify that way, if she wins, she will be
the first female president and the second president of color.
There's no getting around that. And then we got this
chastising from the talk back.

Speaker 11 (15:06):
Hey, as a Christian, you are called a boy, called
that Olympics because all the sacrimicious stuff that doesn't matter
who hijacks what.

Speaker 9 (15:19):
As a Christian, you are called to do all that,
not to follow what they're doing, and what they're doing
is mocking our God and be still supported.

Speaker 11 (15:32):
That means you agreed with that mockery.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Okay, in the most loving way I can let me
express to you. You won't find that in the Bible,
because it's not true. Those who don't believe have been
mocking God from the beginning of time. If they're not
hiding in shame. I am not called to boycott those

(16:00):
who mock God. In fact, I'm not to be surprised
by those who mocked Bod, mock God, or intimidated by
those who mocked God. Certainly not boycott them. I am
called to fix my eyes on the author and perfecture
of my faith, not an Olympic Game opening ceremony. I
am called to be light in darkness, godly in the
midst of an ungodly world. All things I'm incapable of

(16:22):
and only God can do through me. Therefore, I'm back
to me and my sin, not others. And I'm called
to love the Lord that God with all my heart's
soul in mind, and others as myself. Jesus didn't boycott
the Sanhedron or Rome said give to Caesar what is Caesar's?
Nor did he boycott tax collectors. Hi, it's Michael. Your

(16:44):
morning show can be heard on great radio stations across
the country, like News Talk ninety two point one and
six hundred WREC in Memphis, Tennessee, or thirteen hundred The
Patriot Tulsa or Talk six fifty KSTE in Sacramento, California.
We invite you to listen live while you're getting ready
in the morning. It to take us along for the
drive to work. But as we always say, better late
than never. Thanks for joining us for the podcast. This

(17:06):
is your morning show. I'm Michael del Jorno on the
Erin streaming live on your iHeartRadio app. Israel retaliating after
Hesbelau rocket attacks, Trump commits to open door outdoor rallies,
even heading back to Pennsylvania despite the attempt on his life,
and the Harris campaign has now raised over two hundred
million dollars in one week, and the US leads the

(17:27):
world with twelve medals in the Olympics. What I'm most
excited about is this segment one on one with you.
I love all of our expert panelists, reporters and guests,
but boy, I cherish most this time together. We're living
in a time where there's so much at stake. I

(17:51):
would prioritize Israel because that's the epicenter of the world,
the Middle East, and the epicenter of the Middle East
is Israel, and the epicenter of the epicenter of the
epicenter is a temple Israel. That's where your eyes should be.
But where are they? Something out of context JD. Van said,
three years ago and one week later, you're ready to
dump a guy. A week ago you just wanted to
know Grandma me. You wanted your own hell billyology. He

(18:14):
was just the greatest thing on earth. Now shall we
dump on me? He said something about single women and cats?
Or how about the symbolism in the opening ceremony of
the Olympics, so that we should all boycott now, never
mind the war in the Middle East. Did you see
that horse in the opening ceremony? You know that's talked

(18:35):
about in the revelations. All right, so we all need
to keep our eye on the ball. I want to
give you a great example of that. It's our Sound
of the Day and it came to us from an
all black podcast. And what you're about to hear is
Antton Daniel and he's got a panel of I think

(19:00):
ten people. One of the people on the panel was
asked if they're going to vote, who they're voting for,
and the one said Kamala Harris. And then they ask
her why and she comes right on mits because she's black.
Then the others are all like hemming and hemming and hawing,
and then the host Anton says this now, remember what

(19:24):
our theme for the day is. Should our focus be
Donald Trump said, you'll never have to vote again. See,
he's an insurrectionist, he's a dictator, he's a hitler, he's
a bogeyman. He's blowing the whistle. Should it be Jadie
Vance's nuts? He hates single women and cats. Is Joe

(19:50):
Biden the greatest president who ever lived? And because he is,
his greatest act of patriotism was to hand the paton
to Kamala Harris so he could focus on dismantling the
Constitution and the Supreme Court in a hypocritical road to nowhere.
I mean, seriously, you got a lot of things competing
for your focus. So I told the story of my

(20:11):
high school coach. Once you were in a game, and
once you were at bad see ball, hit ball. That's
your only thought. You either know how to hit or
you don't. You either know how to feel or you don't.
You have baseball like he or you don't. At this point,
our hundreds and hundreds of hours with wooden gloves and
bats and soft tossing, it all comes down to see
the ball, hit the ball. Translation, my message, inspirational message

(20:35):
to you today is we have got to keep our
eye on the ball. And here's one black podcaster who
does just that with another one of his panelists who
says she's going to vote for Kamala are Now, she
could have had a million reasons to vote for Kamala Harris,
he'd have been fine. But her only reason on an
all black panel is because she's black. And watch how
the black host handles.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
It only because she a black woman.

Speaker 12 (21:03):
Yeah, you do you not see the how that's a
bad idea elaborate. Okay, so we're in three proxy wars
with some of the most powerful leaders in the world.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
She failed at the border.

Speaker 12 (21:25):
In which we have an estimation of fifteen to twenty
million people illegally into this country. That is literally overtaking
and bankrupting Chicago to the tune of over four hundred
million dollars per year, and they're in the deficit. Oakland
is going out of business. San Francisco did o, California
sixty five billion dollar deficit. New York they're literally cutting

(21:47):
trash in which they are the raddiest, dirtiest city, and
they taking up resources as far as free healthcare, free
hotels to the tune of six hundred dollars a day.
They're literally taking over your schools. Your taxpayer dollars are
going to fund the minoring crisis.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
She was supposed to be in charge it is.

Speaker 12 (22:07):
We have a failing economy every single day.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
I see people getting on him.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
Oops, I forgot he was gonna say that, all right,
So excuse that. A brilliant, brilliant explanation up until that
one word. That's keeping your eye on the ball. That's
not playing the narrative game, that's not playing identity politics.

(22:39):
You know, there was a sea of people trying to
compete to be the vice presidential choice of Kamala Harris.
That's the kind of talk we need, whether you're a
Republican or a Democrat, just reality, and he cuts through
that and that's what we need to do for the

(23:02):
good of our time and for all time, which I
thought was brilliant the way he did it. And it
has to come from them amongst themselves to work that out,
but I thought it was the most brilliant example of
how you keep your eye on the ball and you
don't play the narrative identity politics game. And there's a

(23:26):
lot of it going around, Like you know, I talk
about there's kind of two things happening right now. Gas
lighting rewriting history literally a week after it happened, let
alone four years after it happened. And then bright lighting,
which is this ridiculous narrative of momentum and invincibility that
suddenly exists on the gas lighting front. Great montage. I

(23:50):
think Charlie Kirk put this together last week. They were
gaslighting as no one ever said that Kamala Harris was
the borders are or listened to this montage. I supposed
to Harris was not a borders are game time vice
president and borders are. Kamala Harris facing some backlash what
he said about Harris and immigration was not true. She
was never appointed borders are. And this will be her

(24:11):
first visit to the US Mexico Border Regent since she
was appointed as the Borders are by President Biden.

Speaker 7 (24:17):
People gonna have to counter the misinformation.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
You already hear folks talking about the borders are.

Speaker 7 (24:21):
She wasn't the borders are. President Biden topped Kamala Harris
vice president, Kamala Harris to be.

Speaker 3 (24:26):
The borders are.

Speaker 1 (24:27):
It goes on and on for minutes. Now, Look, I
will grant you This is the strength of the left.
They control intelligentsia, common education, higher education. They control Hollywood sitcoms, dramas,
children's programming, documentaries, movies, and then the tool I've spent

(24:50):
most of my life fighting. They control the mainstream media
and news. And it's no longer news, and we're no
longer news consumers. It's narrative, and we're narrative repeter and
they're literally trying to rewrite reality right before your eyes.
It's the most difficult heavy lifting there is, and they
do it. You have to be smarter than that. Look

(25:15):
at how we've pivoted. It was a miracle from God
that Donald Trump was spared assassination. We got to find
out what happened. That looked like more than poor planning
and poor communication execution. That looked worse. Are we any
closer or have we taking our eye off the ball?

Speaker 6 (25:34):
Now?

Speaker 1 (25:34):
We're focused on did you make a mistake with Jade
Vance over a comment about cats. We're so focused on
the Olympics that we're ignoring the wars in the Middle
East as a sign of the end times. Two great
examples the massive narrative mainstream media pivot. Two weeks ago,

(26:00):
you got a glimpse of what it would look like
if journalism wasn't dead. Now a week later, they got
their way. He's a heroic president who did the patriotic thing.
He's not senile. There wasn't a conspiracy to hide him.
A year ago, Kamala was the weak part of the ticket.

(26:21):
You gotta dump her. Now she's the childly good fellow.
Oh my gosh, momentum, invincibility, gas lighting and bright lighting.
That's what's going on right now. And the only question
to be answered and can't be answered by me or
you only time is America going to fall for it?

Speaker 3 (26:42):
Hey, this is John Watson, My morning show.

Speaker 4 (26:45):
Is your morning show with Michael del Jorno.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
I am Michael del Jorner. If you're just waking up
the Democrats big switcheroo. Well, the play gained some momentum
over the weekend. Mark Mayfield has our Road to the
White House.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
Road to the White House. Twenty twenty four.

Speaker 5 (27:00):
Democrats are rallying around Vice President Kamala Harris's presidential campaign.
Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren told CNN's State of the Union
Harris is ready to lead the nation and is the
best candidate to defeat Donald Trump.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
She is the national leader on making sure that we
restore Roe versus Way, she said.

Speaker 5 (27:18):
Harris as a record of fighting for working families and
wants to sign Roe v. Wade into law. And the
Harris campaign says it has raised two hundred million dollars
in its first week. Campaign officials announced the huge total
on Sunday, noting they've already signed up more than one
hundred and seventy thousand volunteers. According to the statement, two
thirds of the donations came from first time donors supporting

(27:39):
the vice president's bid for the White House.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
I'm Marknyfield.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
You champion working families by championing abortion rights. Think about that.
Transportation Secretary Pete Budagen try to get his veep stripes
this weekend. They were all on parade trying to get
chosen as the vice president. He did so by attacking
Donald Trump over his age, Lisa Carden reports.

Speaker 7 (28:03):
In an interview with Fox New Sunday, Buddhajig argued that
Americans are worried about Trump's mental acuity at age seventy.

Speaker 8 (28:10):
Eight, and how could anybody not watch the stuff he's saying,
The rambling on the trail and not be just a
little bit concerned.

Speaker 7 (28:16):
He said, Trump is older and stranger than he was
when he began his political career. Boodhajij is considered to
be a potential running mate for Kamala Harris. I'm Lisa Carton,
And of course.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
To follow up on the momentum of Michelle and Barack
Obama forma VI, President Al Gore came out and endorsed
yth President Harris over the weekend, causing quite the immediate reaction.
We are ninety nine days from election day. I can't
get here soon enough for O'Neil is here on the

(28:48):
Democratic weepsteaks. Well, they are all out competing for it
this weekend, There's no question. Yeah they were.

Speaker 13 (28:55):
Some of them were weren't even shameless about it, alitting
themselves out there.

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Like that, look at a little thirsty, as the kids
would say.

Speaker 13 (29:03):
But yeah, it's a lot of governors, maybe a US senator,
maybe a Transportation secretary, as you had mentioned. But the
question is do they do like the Republicans did and
Donald Trump picking a mini me and JD Vance, or
do they do to try to find someone to balance
the ticket, as most agreed Kamala Harris would be the

(29:23):
most progressive liberal left whatever term you want to use
president in history.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
All right, So first of all, you want to pick
somebody that's going to be a heartbeat away from being
president and is capable that goes without saying. After that,
you're looking for the ability to unite the party. Does
that exist and who fills it? Yeah? The presenting themselves
is completely united. But you know, as for Democrats in
Chicago where the convention will be, they're far from united.

(29:49):
As for the squad, they're far from united on Israel
and Palestine. So is there somebody out there that really
presents the balancing and uniting of the party. I struggle
with that one. It may be mayor Pete. Yeah, that's
going to be difficult.

Speaker 13 (30:04):
I think Tim Waltz, though, has been trying to come
on pretty strong, the governor from Minnesota. He's really been
much more front and center these past few days. You know,
brings a little silver hair to the set, which is interesting,
like do you want that contrast or do you want
to keep this a young ticket and try to make
age the issue on the Trump side.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
So that's an interesting dynamic.

Speaker 13 (30:26):
But yeah, essentially there's a lot of math going on
right now in the back of a napkin.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
Well, andy brush here. Now, Kentucky doesn't bring anything to
the map necessarily, but there you get young, there you
get you know, here's a guy that is, you know,
a Democrat governor in somewhat of a red state. You know,
I mean, he or Pete is the balancing. The next
thing you look at is the map, and the map

(30:51):
needs to be addressed in Michigan and Pennsylvania first, although
I think there might be looking at Arizona as more
of a priority with that candidate. But it is interesting,
and I will just say what the media was saying
all weekend long. All of these in the veep sweep
steaks so far appear to be white and male, right,
not very multicultural.

Speaker 13 (31:14):
Well, you know there was Governor Whitmer of Michigan. She's
been considered, but I think she pulled her name out
or doesn't want the job, so that's in the mix.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
But yeah, no, you're right.

Speaker 13 (31:26):
But again that goes back to the well, do you
want to pick someone else who is like Kamala Harris
and find try to find a minority woman, or do
you want to you know, broaden things out and go
back to traditional white male. It's interesting, you know, Governor
Waltz apparently I just learned this this morning. The same
age as Kamala Harris, but he's got male pattern boldness

(31:46):
and white hair and he looks.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
A lot older.

Speaker 13 (31:50):
Yeah, you know, he's like Mickey Rooney versus you know,
and you're like, well, wait, they're the same age, so
that would be quite the contrast.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
Although still I think technically gen xers both. I think
because it's a birthday today, I said we should all
listen to Martina McBride's song Anyway, which is probably one
of the greatest lyrics ever. Now that you bring up
Mickey Rooney, I may have to go watch an old
Mickey Rooney movie. Roy O'Neill. With our final story, here's
a great irony. You will never convince me to my

(32:19):
deathbed that Marco Rubio wasn't Donald Trump's first choice. I
don't know if his son talked him into JD. Vans,
I don't know if the strategist talked him into JD. Evans,
But you will never convince me that it wasn't Marco Rubio.
And I could tell by the way he was looking
at Marco Rubio during Marco Rubio's speech, and you'll never
convince me to my deathbed that Shapiro isn't the right

(32:40):
choice for Kamala Harrison. This they got an eye problem
Israel though, and he's Jewish. But I you know, if
you're looking at the map, there is no path without Pennsylvania.
You gotta do something in Michigan too, But I mean,
but Shapiro Pennsylvania, that looks like a no brainer. Or
go with your future star. So even if you come
up short, he's set and ready to run in four years.

(33:03):
And that's the Maryland governor. So I don't know. I
think most of the people were hearing from. It's all
going to depend just like Donald Trump's choice. Are you
going to prioritize party unity, balancing the ticket, the electoral
college map, next in line to be president or else
or other? And I guess we're gonna find out she
hasn't given any nobody's given any. You know, we had

(33:25):
at least, you know, some kind of inklings with Trump
where he was leaning. We really don't have any with Harris,
do we.

Speaker 13 (33:32):
Well it's been so fast, I mean, we haven't even
gotten time to read tea leaves. She hasn't done an
interview yet to sit down with someone to give.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
Us that hint. I mean, it's it's been a week.
So two hundred million dollars later though, right, that's a
lot of money in the war chest.

Speaker 3 (33:47):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
Roy O'Neil always great with the final story. Thanks for
joining us. We'll talk again tomorrow. Great reporting today, All right,
well that'll do it. Today was really a tale of us,
you know, all losing our focus. I think, whether it's
cats and single women, whether it's you won't have to
vote again, whether it's an Olympic committee that hijacked like

(34:08):
that's never happened in an opening ceremony versus athletes. And
the reality is the American people are still concerned about
the economy and the border, and we just got to
give it a little time. But I suspect the Democrats
still have a lot of work ahead of them with
Kamala and whoever they choose or don't choose as vice president,

(34:29):
and especially on an electoral college map. So everybody take
a deep breath. We're all in this together. This is
