Speaker 2 (00:43):
Wednesday Wednesday. Nobody ever made a song about Wednesday?
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Did they? Well? No, but they didn't make a guy
Co commercial about it? One time? Did they want?
Speaker 4 (00:52):
No?
Speaker 2 (00:53):
I do remember that seven minutes after the hour on
the Aaron streaming live on your iHeartRadio app. This is
your Morning Show, o't Michael del Joinal Jeffrey Lyon has
the sound bread keeping an eye on the content, and
of course the show is all about you. Take your
place at this morning's kitchen table. Use that talkback button.
If you're listening on the iHeartRadio app. No more rotting
(01:13):
on hold and talk radio. Hit the microphone. Count you
down three to two to one gives you thirty seconds
to make a common ask a question. You are front
and center on your morning show, well if you're just
waking up the White House. As Russian President Vladimir Putin
has agreed to begin the next phase of the peace process,
still seems to be some questions as to whether or
not that would be a bilateral meeting with Zelensky alone
(01:36):
or a trilateral meeting with Zelensky and Trump. Hurricane Aaron
won't make landfall in the US, but it'll reach some
havoc along the East Coast. Justice Department is looking into
whether or not the Washington DC police manipulated data that
was Was that a main story read when we originally
did that change all the numbers back in May? I
think you're going to find that they did. Prices on
(01:59):
some weight loss drugs are being slashed as cash paying
patients come forward. What does just eating well and moving cost?
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Nothing, Well, eating well can cost a little more. And
John Fogerty did I mention John Fogerty's on the show today.
We did not mention that John Fogerty is celebrating a
new album with an iHeartRadio Icon performance.
Speaker 5 (02:32):
He will be on this show to discuss both. You
really just don't know how.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Many hits CCR and John Fogerty had until you just
started googling around and listening.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Or unless you played oldies.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Well, I was in the oldies format, the one that
nobody ever plays anymore, like on Serious x Is. I
guess we could make that our question of the day.
Your favorite CCR song looking out my back Door was
always one of my favorites. I love Fortunate Son, Well,
Fortune sounds a great one. We ask him what his
(03:17):
favorite song is. I don't think it will surprise too
many people. I think have you ever seen the Rain?
Just an absolute classic. But that's when we hear all
the time. John Fogerty, Ladies and gentlemen on the Show
Today pulls a plenty On the Show Today, a majority
back Trump's call for a new census, that is, a
census that does not include legal immigrants. Fifty seven percent
(03:39):
of Americans and thirty six percent of Americans strongly support
the president's new census fifty two percent supporting idea of
illegals not being counted. It depends on, obviously which side
of the matrix you're on, But of course your your
perspective from a constitutional representative republic process intent standing. Of course,
(04:08):
I don't think illegal should be counted, because you shouldn't
have people in the country illegally being a part of
a factor of how many members of Congress a certain
state has to represent the populace in the People's House.
That would just give you an incentive to open the borders,
(04:30):
allow I legals in and place them where you need them.
Speaker 6 (04:34):
Now.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
I'm not suggesting in any way, though, I.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Believe it did already happen, so part of reversing it
would be to address it with a new census and
not count them.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
We'll look at that poll.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Americans overwhelmingly believe jerry mandering undermines democracy. This is like,
you know, a poll to suggest, oh, I think doing
wrong is wrong. What I hope doesn't get conflated in America,
and I sometimes wonder if it does, and I sometimes
(05:06):
wonder if the left would love it to, is that
you conflate all redistricting. Redistricting with jerrymandering. Redistricting is necessary
again for the values of states on an electoral college map,
and for the number of members in the House of
(05:27):
Representatives and the power in the vote that comes with
that from the populace. All states have two senators. They're
there to protect the state's rights because we're the United States.
But all states don't have the same population. That's why
we don't have the same number of members of the
House of Representatives. So when people move with their feet,
(05:51):
as they have been moving from California, Illinois, New York
primarily to Florida, Tennessee, Texas, then the makeup of the
House should change too, and the electoral college value for
those states and a presidential election should change. So that
causes redistricting. Redistricting is good, it is necessary. It speaks
(06:14):
to our intent. The abuse of it is jerry manderin So,
blocking is good. It's necessary to keep a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
From getting killed. Holding not good. Part of me wants
to say, what a ridiculous poll.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Now, to continue the football analogy, imagine if you are
watching a game and I have from time to time,
we're the only call holding on one team and not
the other. In Massachusetts, thirty six percent of the state
is Republican, but they have no seats in the House
of Representatives. Connecticut, forty two percent of the state is Republican,
(06:53):
but they have no seats in the House of Representatives.
Main forty six percent Republican.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
No House.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Oh, Jerry Manderin shouldn't happen. It's always wrong, but it
does happen. It only seems to be a national crisis,
or if it's perceived threat to democracy when the Democrats
claim the Republicans are doing it while they ignore how
they've done it for decades. That's what I think is
frustrating for a lot of people listening to talk radio
(07:23):
waking up this morning. Americans fear AI. I'm not so
certain if it's for all the right reasons. Mostly they
fear it displacing jobs, replacing human beings seventy one percent.
It could replace thought, truth, authenticity. Oh, there's a lot
(07:46):
of things that scare me about AI. It taking my
job is in the back seat to destroying my culture.
And there are so many scoreboards and are involved in
some of them. Bank accounts are an easy scoreboard to read.
(08:08):
You could make a movie one point five billion in
one hundred and seven days about just how much money
was spent to get Kamala Harris the impossible elected.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
I don't can't do much for money. Money can't buy
me in love.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Well, money can't buy you a presidency with a really
bad character and candidate. So they just throw away one
point five billion dollars. And that's only a year or
so ago. You know, people are not even a year.
They're still reeling and they're still waiting to see a
party get its act together, get its platform together, get
(08:50):
its policy, and it's messaging together, and the money doesn't
see it yet.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Clearly.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
I don't want to be dramatic, but you're pretty much
wrap up this month, get through September, and even September
is kind of iffy, and then you're into Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas,
nothing happens, boom. You come back from the holidays and
you are in full mid term election mode and you
(09:18):
know what the money scoreboard is, Well, the DEM's got
about fifteen million to the Republicans eighty million, and that
fifteen million has just been sitting there.
Speaker 6 (09:31):
Now.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
I don't know how they're doing on the ground with activists,
and even they're going to be divided because some are
is Lombist, some are socialist and communist, some are just
progressive and liberal.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
That's a pretty divided house.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
But the bank account not looking good at the end
of June, as we approach midterm elections, there is and
I don't know, red do you think there's gonna be
a lot made of this? So President Trump is talking
to Fox and you know, he says one of the clearance,
I think the number one inspiration as a president like
to see kids die. It keeps bringing that up. The
(10:07):
first Lady wrote a letter about that to Putin, but
he had mentioned I want, you know, one of my
motivating factors in stopping this war and other wars is
I want to get to Heaven. I know there's gonna
be a lot of believers that are going to want
to disciple them a little bit. Yes, blessed are the peacemakers.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
I get that.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
But there's nothing Donald Trump can do to get to heaven.
It was all done by Christ at the Cross. It's
just a matter of believing in him, accepting him, and
surrendering your life to him. But any wars are always good.
Is the left going to try to make this some
kind of Messiah complex.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
That has that been done? Oh, but they would never
do that about the Obama Messiah.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
No, I was gonna say Obama Siah would be a
so yeah, well we'll delve into that. Of course, Roy
O'Neil is going to be joining his Department of Justice,
will begin sharing the Epstein files.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
That Drip drip is just not going away?
Speaker 2 (11:04):
Could Dan Bongino be on his way out that more
with Rory O'Neil, John Decker from the White House? Do
we think we're gonna have I con said, do you
think we're gonna have a phone issue with John Decker?
I'm ready to send two cans and a wire.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
I'm glad you said that because I have to send
him an invite on teams. So we're gonna make a switch.
We're gonna make the switch. Is that what they determined?
Speaker 2 (11:24):
As peace talks unfold between Ukraine and Russia, some are
asking whether the security guarantees will mean US boots on
the ground. The President has made that crystal clear, no
boots on the ground, and that would in light of
a violation of the guarantee, there would be a NATO
assured response, but no boots on the ground and then,
(11:46):
as I mentioned, and I think I mentioned, didn't I
that John Fogerty of CCR is going to be on
the show.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Today, I'm gonna nerd out.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
It's gonna be a major nerding out on a national
program coming up. Hey, what if you could delay your
next two mortgage payments? How big of a deal would
that be? I don't know if your payments are two thousand,
five thousand, but that's a lot too of those in
your pocket. That's a lot of breathing room. It's possible
if you call American Financing today. If you're feeling stretched
(12:19):
by everyday expenses and we all are groceries, gas bills
piling up.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
You're not alone. And most Americans are putting these.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
Extra expenses things they can't cover on credit cards. And
then guess what buried in high interest credit card debt.
You just blink and those balances are so high. American
Financing can show you how to use your home's equity
to pay off that debt. But you got to take
an action. You got to call American Financing today before
you get to the point where you can't make the payments.
(12:48):
Then that becomes a whole other problem. Salary mortgage consultants,
not commission, no high pressure. They're simply there to help
you restructure your loans and consolidate your debt. There are
no upfront fees and average customers saving over eight hundred
dollars a month plus breathing. It's like getting a ten
thousand dollars raise. It's fast, it's simple. Make the call
(13:09):
today American Financing eight six six eighty five.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
Nineteen forty eight.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
Don't hear me do this another day, Call and feel
the peace of mind eight six six eighty five, nineteen
forty eight. Eight six six eighty five, nineteen forty eight,
or get started online at Americanfinancing dot net, forward slash Michael.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
This is your morning show with Michael del Chona.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
By the way, if you missed any of your morning
show today, like maybe I'm listening right now, but I
won't be here in the third hour when you talk
to John Fogerty of CCR and no sweat.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
That's why we have the podcast.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
It's up an hour after the show concludes, so that'll
be about nine am or so Central ten Eastern, and
you can listen whenever you want, wherever you want, when
you can, so find the link to the podcast on
our website, your Morningshow online dot com, or just search
it in your iHeartRadio app. Bright twenty six minutes after
the hour of Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday, the
(14:04):
White House says Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to
begin the next phase of the peace process.
Speaker 7 (14:11):
Press Secretary Kroonline Levitt said that includes a possible meeting
between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski that could lead
to a trilateral with President Trump, so we finally have
movement after years of deadly gridlock. She sent Vice President
Jan d Vance and other US officials who will continue
to coordinate with Russia and Ukraine. Trump hosted Zelenski and
several European leaders at the White House on Monday to
(14:32):
discuss the war. Levitt also reiterated Trump's assurance that he
will not put American troops on the ground in Ukraine.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
I'm Mark Mayfield.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
Nearly a third of businesses are likely to increase prices
by the end of the year.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Chris Karagio has that story.
Speaker 6 (14:44):
A new report by lending Tree found that more than
thirty percent of businesses surveyed said they expect their prices
will be higher in six months than they are now,
while only five percent said that their prices will go
down and sixty five percent said their prices will remain steady.
Lending Trees report also found that businesses in Rhode Island,
New Hampshire, Montana, Washington, Oregon, and Vermont We're most likely
(15:07):
to say they expect to increase prices in the coming months.
Survey results come during a period of uncertainty over President
Trump's tariff rollout and continued pressure from inflation. I'm Chris
Crassio all Blue States.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Speaking of prices, the prices of some popular weight loss drugs,
they're being slashed for cash paying patients.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
Pharmaceutical company No Vote nor Disk is offering ozampic and
wagov for half price four hundred and ninety nine dollars
a month for those who pay for the drugs out
of pocket. Eli Lilly, the maker of Munjaro and zep Found,
has been doing the same for months. The cash payoffer
will expand access to eligible type two diabetes patients who
(15:49):
don't have insurance coverage for the weekly injections. The move
comes as drug makers face pressure from the Trump administration
to lower drug costs in the US. I'm Sarah le Kessler.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
I'm just interested in a microdos there too, just to
help with the bloating. Google is getting ahead of Apple
by releasing the new Pixel ten series phone ahead of
iPhone seventeen.
Speaker 8 (16:14):
Made by Google. Event will be held Wednesday. Apple's hardware
event is slated for September. TechCrunch reports an anticipated new
feature is called Camera Coach. It will let Jim and
I give you real time tips for taking better photos.
The AI is supposedly able to see what's going on
and suggests the best angles and lighting for your shot.
(16:35):
I'm Michael Kastner.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
John Fogerty celebrating his new album with an iHeartRadio Icon's performance.
The Creton's Clearwater Revival co founder is releasing a re
recorded version of his classic songs Legacy the CCR Years
John's version. It'll give Fogerty the rights to his old
songs for the first time. The twenty track album features
(16:58):
newly recorded version of Up Around the Bend, Have You
Ever Seen the Rain Traveling Band?
Speaker 1 (17:02):
And so many more. He'll be on the show Third
Hour to discuss it more.
Speaker 7 (17:09):
This is David Peterson in Columbia, Tennessee, and my morning
show is your morning show with the Michael del jarna.
Speaker 8 (17:21):
Hi.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
I'm Michael del Jarno, and your morning show can be
heard live as it's happening five to eight am Central
and six to nine Eastern on great stations like six
twenty WJDX and Jackson, Mississippi, or Akron's News Talk six
forty WHLO and Akron Ohio and News Radio five seventy
WDAK and Columbus Georgia. Love to be a part of
your morning routine.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
But we're glad you're here now.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Enjoy the podcast, get out of bed, grab yourself a
cup of coffee, Time to embrace humanity and the day
it is Wednesday, August the twentieth year of Our Lord,
twenty twenty five. The White House says President Vladimir Putin
has agreed to begin the next phase of the peace process.
Will that be a bilateral meeting with Zelensky or trilateral
meeting with the Linsky and Trump? Time will tell Hurricane
(18:03):
Aaron will not make landfall in the US, but it's
going to wreak a little bit of havoc along the
Eastern seaboard, especially with do I dare say rip currents
or riptides, whichever you call them, and the Justice Department
is looking into whether or not Washington DC police manipulated
data to make crime appear lower. That appears to be
(18:23):
the case. That's why a commander was suspended and put
on leave without pay. And the prices of weight loss
drugs are being slashed for cash paying patients. That more
coming up. We'll also visit with Roory O'Neil about the
Department of Justice. They're going to start sharing Epstein files
with Congress this Friday. The drip drip of Epstein, it
(18:47):
doesn't go away. And we have polls of plenty for
you this morning. I think the first one probably doesn't
take a lot of analysis. The majority back Donald Trump's
call for a new census. Once again, Trump finds himself
(19:10):
in line with the American people. Probably moreover, once again,
the hysterical obstructionist left finds itself on the wrong side
of the American people. How many times is that going
to happen, Whether it's the border seems so long ago, Democrat,
a member of Congress visits a gang member who was
(19:36):
deported in prison. It's gotten so bad now with the
help in DC from the National Guard. That you have
Democrats fighting for crime in our inner cities. They stood
for open borders, for lawlessness. I guess they're fighting for war.
(20:01):
They're anti piece of Trump's the one that orchestrates it.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
And now the census, all the things.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
Let me tell you something, if the Democrats say something
is a threat to democracy, then you know the American
people think it's essential for democracy. They only get it
completely wrong. And again, once again, Trump finds himself at
a plus twenty three point lead with the American voters
on an issue of importance to citizens. Why would any
(20:32):
American think that illegals should be counted? Is really the
question of the day. If you understand that we're a
constitutional representative republic. Never mind of Barack Obama shoved down
your throat. We're a democracy. We're democracy. Know or not
we use a democratic process of voting. But we are
(20:55):
a constitutional representative republic, a government of laws by intent.
And where the United States of America, and there are
a different number of people that live in each state.
Your founding fathers thought of it all. That's why every
state has two senators, and that's why every state does
not have the same amount of members of Congress in
(21:16):
the House of Representatives, because that's where the populace is represented.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
That's the people's house.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
I use this analogy, and I mean, if five people
broke into my house last night, I can't claim them
as a dependent on my tax form. They don't have
a right to stay and they don't have the right
to be counted as del Jorno's.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
So you could make a case if the American.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
People still received Civics courses in education, they might get
this number even better. But it's still another dramatic hill.
The Democrats are out of step with the American people
and losing on and Trump is winning on. The President,
of course, as you know, has ordered a new census
after errors were found in the twenty twenty numbers, and
(22:06):
most voters agree with the president that illegal immigrants shouldn't
be included in the census count. Fifty seven percent of
US voters likely US voters approve of Trump's decision to
order for a new census, and that includes thirty six
percent who strongly approve. There are more who strongly approve
than in general disapprove, and plus twelve percent on strongly
(22:29):
approve and strongly disapprove because everybody else in between is
probably guessing. Census Bureau researchers found that twenty twenty census
overcounted populations in eight states. Isn't that convenient? While undercounting
populations and six others and announcing his decision to order
a new census, Trump said that illegal immigrants will not
(22:50):
be counted. Fifty two percent of voters say illegal immigrants
should not be counted in the census, Thirty six percent
believe they should be counted, eleven percent are not sure.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Either way.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
That's a plus sixteen in Trump's favor. Of course, we
live in a matrix, so depending on what bubble you
live in, and what information you get and what information
you don't get, you respond differently. I don't know how
citizenship has become a partisan issue, but eighty three percent
of Republicans support the president, forty three percent of Democrats,
(23:25):
forty nine percent of non affiliated voters nearly forty nine percent.
Just about half of Democrats believe the census should count
illegal immigrants, but solid majorities about the Republicans sixty five
percent and unaffiliated voters at fifty seven percent saygrant illegal
immigrants should not be counted significantly believe it or not,
this has a gender shift to it. Sixty five percent
(23:50):
of men and fifty one percent of women approve of
Trump's decision, but both majorities. You'll find this interesting, as
we do with every poll. I mean, if the presidents
wanted to recount the census and he's wanting to not
include in legal immigrants, of course Hispanics would be against this.
Speaker 1 (24:09):
Right.
Speaker 2 (24:10):
Trump's decision to ordering new census is at least somewhat
approved by fifty seven percent of whites, fifty five percent
of blacks, and seventy two percent of Hispanics, remember, and
forty seven percent of all other minorities. Remember, the Democrats
are hemorrhaging voting blocks, in particular black votes, mail votes,
(24:33):
to be specific, Hispanic votes. They have lost this Hispanic
voting block. Their assumption that all Hispanics are for illegal immigration,
when many came legally and many work hard and want
limited government interference has been a gross miscalculation. Black voters
(24:56):
are more likely to think the Census should count a
legal immigrant, and you've got to scream at the top
of your lines why they would be the most harmfully
affected by illegals with resources, work and living conditions, perhaps
(25:18):
stuck in a bubble and not getting all the information.
So I always warn you the death of journalism not
a victory a defeat for the republic. It's something we're
still living with and still haven't figured out. And the
matrix we still haven't corrected. This next poll, okay, partisan
(25:41):
jerrymandering undermines democracy according to voters. Well, voters are so
opposed to jerrymandering. Why don't they oppose it? Why does
it keep happening? I mean, I don't know whether to
take your answer credibly or is this like a sin?
(26:05):
Of course sin is wrong, other people's mine. There's a
tremendous amount of grace and mercy for and we've seen
this time and time again. My biggest concern, and I
made this in the opening monologue. I'll make it again
in case you just woke up. I don't want to
see the media, in all of its bias, in all
(26:26):
of its matrix, conflate redistricting and jerry mandering. I fear
that many people when they hear redistricting, hear jerry mandering,
maybe because jerry mandering is so common, But one is necessary.
The other is the offense to so jerry mandering is
(26:52):
using the redistricting to create an outcome that is wrong.
Redistricting is necessary on movement of population and front and
center and key to a representative republic. Way down on
the list is your ultimate right to vote is with
(27:13):
your feet. There's a lot of stuff that I see California,
New York, Illinois doing, and I think they're reaping what
they saw. They're broke, they're riddled in crime, their schools
are failing, Homelessness is out of control, drug uses out
of control. Any state can do stupid things that's within
(27:33):
their rights in most cases, and it's good for them
to experiment. So why I really wanted to see, and
I'm so glad I was wrong, obviously, But had we
had a showdown between DeSantis and Gavin Newsom, that would
have been such a good exercise for America. Two executives
(27:56):
from two of the largest states with two completely different worldviews,
policy views, and track records, Just the exercise of getting
Americans to look at these two states, because states have
the right to be different. Now, do you want to
do what they've done in California nationwide?
Speaker 1 (28:19):
Let Gavin Newsom.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
You want to do in Florida I mean one people
are fleeing from the other. They're flinging too. It would
have been a great exercise. I'm glad it was Donald Trump.
I'm glad it was Kamala haaras. I'm glad he won.
I'm glad America is great again, secure again, safe again,
back on the world stage as a world leader, and
creating peace. I mean, I'm glad for all of that,
but that exercise would have been good because that's an
(28:45):
ultimate right we have. It's an ultimate right I exercised.
I won't say what stayed Oklahoma. I exercised my right
to vote with my feet, and I moved eighteen years ago,
and I moved to Tennessee and I haven't moved anywhere
since now. I've voted in municipal, county, federal elections every
(29:08):
cycle that I've lived here eighteen years. But the most
significant vote I cast was for my family with my feet.
And as I exercised that vote, the representation cumulatively has
to be expressed. And if millions leave California, or millions
(29:33):
leave Illinois or New York and they go to Tennessee,
or they go to Florida, they go to Texas or wherever, they.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
Go a lot of them. North Carolina, South Carolina.
Speaker 2 (29:41):
Those states representation should change the law have two senators,
but the number of House members they have should change
as one popular population shrinks and the other grows. So
never conflate. Redistricting is essential in a representative republic. The
(30:03):
abuse of it jerry mandering, that's something different, and the
two are not the same. And when you hear one word,
don't assume the other. Now, it does happen all too often,
and when it happens on one side, nobody says anything.
When it happens on the other side, Oh, democracy is
at stake. That's where the goose never meets the gander.
So of course I'm wondering why it's not one hundred
(30:27):
percent should be against jerry mandering. Now you go on
to things like redistricting, or who does it worse, or
who does it more often? Or is only one side
doing it? Well, then you better get some clear views.
I could ask this of one of our contributors. But
(30:51):
do all do it?
Speaker 1 (30:52):
Yes? Does one do it more often and more effectively? Yes?
Speaker 2 (31:01):
And it's the accuser in this case, the Democrats. So
if jerrymandering is so wrong, with the American people. I
wish they'd stop it. We might have a few Republican
congress members north of New York State. But eighty three
percent of likely US voters say it's a serious problem
when states deliberately draw congressional districts to favor one party,
including sixty percent of consider it a very serious problem
(31:23):
and they should. Eleven percent don't think partisan jerry mandering
is a problem. Well, that's just ignorant. It's a problem
whenever it's done. Given the example of Illinois, where Republicans
got forty five percent of the vote in twenty twenty four,
they hold only three of the state's seventeen US House seats.
(31:45):
They were joking about it on Stephen Colvert's show with
Governor Pritzker, just laughing about it. I mean, you want
to see how some of these districts are drawn. Eighteen
percent of the total fifty seven percent of voters say
such results undermine American democracy. Forty six percent of voters
(32:09):
approve of the Texas redistricting plan, including twenty six percent
who strongly approved, forty seven percent or disapproved. Do I
even have to go through the partisan breakdown of this
Seventy four percent of Republicans approve of Texas, sixty seven
percent of Democrats disapprove. It's a silly, timely poll, but
(32:34):
I hope no one's conflating redistricting with jerry mandering. One
is necessary, the other is abuse of it and wrong.
I don't have a lot of time to do it.
But a third poll is the AI. And there's a
tremendous lack of understanding and knowledge of AI. So anytime
you have a lot of lack of knowledge and understanding,
(32:56):
you're going to have either disinterest or fear, and so
then it's a matter of what they hear. According to
a new Reuter's poll, it showed seventy one percent of
respondent said they're concerned that AI will be putting too
many people out of work permanently. At present, there are
(33:16):
few signs of mass unemployment. The US jobless rate was
just four point two percent in July. Artificial intelligence is
during concerns as it reshapes jobs, industries in day to
day life. I wouldn't be as concerned about AI today
as much as what AI and contem with the computing
is able to do in the future. I've always sensed
(33:37):
this is more of a VHS beta than it is
a VHS. But to be concerned about the cost of
jobs and not the cost of thought or truth or authenticity.
That's where the fair should where the fears really should lie.
But initially, in all their lack of understanding there it'll
(34:00):
cost jobs. Some seventy seven percent of respondents said they
worried the technology could be used to stir up political chaos.
Speaker 1 (34:07):
Well, who would notice.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
It's your morning show with Michael del Chino.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
Can't have your morning show without your voice. Thank god,
we never have to. Let's start with Roger Rogers listening
to k ste in Sacramento.
Speaker 9 (34:22):
Morriy Michael. Just a short story about John Fogerty. I
saw him in concert, I guess a year or two
ago when he resumed playing again once he got his
polishing rights back. But he talked about his Rickenbacker guitar
that he had given away to some kid in some
weak moment, as the one he played at Woodstock, and
he praised his wife for both getting his publishing back
and getting their guitar returned. He played it that night,
(34:46):
his kids were playing with them. They played it that night,
absolutely awesome, and he sounds as good as.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
Ever, Yeah, that's really the takeaway. I mean, he could still.
It's like going back in time. He doesn't look eighty,
he doesn't sound eighty. He's just and he finally has
the rights back to his music, which is about a
four or five decade nightmare.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
Big John, did you see this? Adam Shift set up
a legal defense fund. Basically wants everybody to pay for
his crime. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
By the way, I got a question from Youngstown about
whether or not those in prison are counted the census,
and the answer is yes.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
We're all in this together. This is Your Morning Show
with Michael nhild Joo
