Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, it's Michael reminding you that your morning show can
be heard live each weekday morning five to eighth Central,
six to nine Eastern and great cities like Nashville, Tennessee
two below, Mississippi and Sacramento, California. We'd love to be
a part of your morning routine and take the drive
to work with you, but better late than never.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
We're grateful you're here. Now. Enjoy the podcast.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Two three starting your morning off right. A new way
of talk, a new way of understanding, because we're in
this together. This is your morning show with Michael Bill Charman.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Well, we do live in interesting times, and we're all
in this together. Good morning, Welcome to Wednesday, September, the
seventeenth year of Our Lord, twenty twenty five on the
Aaron streaming live on your iHeartRadio app. This is the
show that belongs to you, the listener, your morning show.
Don't forget, we cannot, we will not. It would be
a failure to not have your voice front and center
(00:56):
on a show called your morning show. So take your
place at the kitchen table this morning. Use that talkback
button on your iHeartRadio app. It's a little microphone. It
counts you down very officially three two one picture a
network producer's finger pointing at you, and then you have
thirty seconds to ask a question, make a comment. And
there is a lot to ask questions about. There's a
(01:16):
lot to make comments on, and no more rotting on
hold like the old days and talk radio instantly you
take your place at the table, so use a talkback button.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Please do not be teaching the kids tumbling while you
talk back. You actually got that. Well, we had one.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
Last week's butt call right, Well, he's been a good father.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Why do you make father? It was a great talk
about We had one the other day that they were
urinating while they were doing it. Yeah, you can't do that, please,
I mean we were hearing it. You know, he was
obviously going number one as he was making a very
heartfelt comment. Yes, but we had to make the decision.
(02:06):
Unless he was standing next to a fountain, we really
couldn't air that.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
If you sprinkle when you tinkleed, be a sweetie wipe
to see. That's all I got to Sai.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
You and your wife have all those country sayings down,
don't you. Okay, well let me rephrase this, no tumbling,
no going number one, but make your question in comments
known using the talkback button on your iHeart app. You
can also email Michael d at iHeartMedia dot com. All right,
prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Charlie Kirk's assassin,
Tyler Robinson, being held without bond, the charges aggravated murder
(02:37):
that for that he will face the death penalty. And
again the burden of these charges and proof we're almost
laid out in and of itself yesterday. This is going
to be a very difficult case for any defense, whether
you try to go the insanity route. You've got a
(02:59):
confession to his lover and text I mean pretty open
and shot. Felony, charges of a firearm causing serious bodily injury,
obstruction of justice, two counts, witness tampering, two counts commission
a violent offense in the presence of a child. I
will add to this that you know, before anybody starts
(03:22):
asking the questions from the people that are very astute
in prosecution, they think that the the text messages are
significant and the witness tampering and significant in order to
keep the roommate.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Secured as a witness.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Why because he has the most valuable information potentially.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
So this is what we have. Now there could be others,
and yesterday there was a big to do over just
how many others on the discord chat group alone read
we had thirty, which is more than twenty. But we're
talking about potentially other things.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
You know. Remember, they give us what they give us
when they give it to us. So for the prosecution
you only have to give enough to reach the burden
of the charges being accepted.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
In a case being set.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
So you could make the assumption wisely that what we
got yesterday was just a tip of the iceberg. Remember
when we thought the comment, Hey guys, I got some
bad news. I did it on Discord. Was bad, and
then yesterday you get the text exchange. Now what's interesting
(04:44):
is the note. So the note was seemingly destroyed, the
picture of the note the lover and roommate turned over.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
They got the roommate on destroying evidence.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
I also think, and again I could get confused in
all this, just like you. But the timelines, some of
them aren't quite matching up. That could be about what's
being told now that will be made clear later. Now
discovery leaked, it might be that soon. Otherwise you'll have
to wait for the court case, but there to me,
(05:28):
I don't know about you read to me, there were
indications that the roommate seemingly was aware before, But then
the text doesn't necessarily make sense when he says, wait
a minute, you did it? I thought they arrested a guy.
So you know, there's some questions that are going to
pop up, and just like a lot of lessons in
this whole drama, you just got to be patient and
(05:51):
the moment has to be sufficient. You know, I was
watching Scott Jennings go at it on CNN, and yeah,
Scott's and he's got to take on four on one
every day. Can you imagine I got to be in
a fight every day and it's four or five on one.
But you start going back and forth about all of this,
(06:16):
and the reasonable moment is, why aren't we focused on Charlie?
Why aren't we focused on his wife? Why aren't we
focused on his children? Isn't that enough for the moment?
The shooter's been apprehended, he's been charged, he faces capital punishment,
(06:38):
is going to take a long time. I'm already getting
emails about how.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
You know.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
This could go down the road.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
But in the process, in the road of justice, he's
in a jail, he's been charged, he's going to face justice.
That it just kind of has to be enough for
the moment. There has to be a grief window. But
that's not what we're living quickly. We're fighting over the
(07:10):
life of Charlie Kirk, who knew him best, who was
a mason and building what he built, who was his
closest friend, whose life was changed the most by him.
You got one half of America arguing he was hate,
(07:32):
the other half arguing he's a martyr. I showed Andrew
an Ai created video or motion picture meme. We almost
have to come up with a new name for these.
And there's Charlie sitting as he was sitting right before
(07:54):
he was killed, and instead of being shot, he just
instantly wakes up, the stands up and starts walking.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Up the crowd.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Into the sky, forms wings and flies off. And I
guess part of me went, gosh, people will do anything
just to get enough clicks so they can get a check,
and people will click this and share this. Isn't it enough?
(08:34):
He's gone. Isn't it enough? His widow is weeping, his
children are fatherless. Isn't there enough? Moment of grief on
all ends to just chill. We got to make this
a social media event. And then I wake up this
morning and first of all, I don't know in this
(08:57):
age of danger, which I think is what we all
agree on dangerous time, that I like the idea of
the President of the United States, vice President of the
United States, and the Secretary of State all being in
the same place, let alone sharing the same stage. And
you can start having an argument right now about what
(09:18):
would the security.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
What is it going to be like?
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Not impossible to be enough to please me, I will
tell you, And you can secure that place for a shooter,
but what about a terrorist attack? I just don't even
know what I don't even know what we're thinking. But
then I kept reading President Trump, Vice President Vance, Secretary
(09:47):
of State Marco Rubio, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Cabinet
member RFK, Pete Hegseeth, advisor Stephen Miller, Tucker Carlson, Don Jr.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Erica.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
I mean I know that they probably, I mean, do
we know if they've had a private family service already?
Speaker 2 (10:06):
I would presume they have, right, I don't believe they have.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Okay, So I'm just old fashioned. I wouldn't allow. This
is turning into a political convention, not a funeral. This
reminds me of the story of the Emperor in the
taj Mahal. He's building this giant taj Mahal to honor
his his dead wife, and she's been completely forgotten in
(10:35):
the building of this magnificent structure. I don't get a
lot of things. I'm just gonna leave it at that.
So we have a furry radicalized online gamer of Maga
(10:59):
parents who hates Trump, hates Republicans, really hates Charlie Kirk.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Hates him so much he can't negotiate with him. He
has to kill him.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
So we have a furry fascinated shooter, a transgender live
in lover roommate boyfriend, and now that first person arrested,
the seventy one year old authorities believe he fake claimed
to the shooting to give time for the real shooter
(11:33):
to get away, though there's no indication they knew each other.
Then he develops a medical condition, they take him to
the hospital. Then once his medical condition, which sounds like
a whole lot of nuts, is stabilized, and then he admits, oh,
I didn't kill him, And as the police are looking
(11:53):
through his phone the child they find child pornography. So
now the first fake assassin rested is a seventy or
one year old. Leftis not child porn guy. I don't
know where the narratives stand. Uh though, the left, you know,
the left continues to shock me and the way they
(12:14):
will try to die on unwinnable hills, and they're trying
to do it with this as well. But we're gonna
go through some pretty interesting polling by you gov on
what Americans really think about political violence. It doesn't match
the defense or the deflection of the left on television,
and even Jasmine Crockett is one sickening example we'll have
(12:36):
for you later and sounds the day. Bottom line, there
seems to be a tug of war in the matrix,
in the political matrix, in the midst of a death
of journalism. I don't even know what to call it
other than a social dilemma. Some will call it a cancer.
(12:58):
It's a big dilemma. But in the midst of his
social dilemma, a political matrix, we're in a tugo war
over the life and body of Charlie Kirk. And I
just want to be the one person that goes he
was alive one week ago. What is a reasonable funeral etiquette?
(13:23):
In time of morning? There's even elements on the far
right fighting over who's going to take his empty chairs?
Why are the stakes so high? Why are we so insensitive?
Which way is this emotional divide of a nation divided headed?
(13:50):
That's really what we're about today, keeping our eye on
the facts, keeping the goal of understanding and trying to
make sense of it all because we're all in this together.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
This is your morning show with Michael del Chono.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
Good Morning.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
Authorities in Utah say a man who was arrested just
after Charlie Kirk was assassinated, claiming he fired the shot,
helped the real shooter escape.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Mark Mayfield has that report the.
Speaker 6 (14:18):
Utah County Sheriff since seventy one year old George Zinn
yelled that he was the shooter to allow the actual
suspect to flee. Tyler Robinson was arrested late Thursday and
has been charged with aggravated murder for the killing of
the conservative activist. Robinson apparently acknowledged Zen's arrest, telling his
roommate in a text message that police had grabbed some
crazy old dude. Zen is being held on charges of
(14:39):
obstruction of justice and possession of child sex abuse material.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
I'm Mark Mayfield. Things keep getting so weird, so fast.
I'm afraid of what tomorrow will reveal. A Senate hearing
with that FBI director Cash bettel Well, I would say
it went off the rails.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
Fast to tell and Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee
shouted at one another over subjects that included the Charlie
Kirk and Jeffrey Epstein investigations.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
I'm not surprised.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
So continue to lie from your person and put on
a show of you.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
You can go raise money for your charoo.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
You are political buffoon at best.
Speaker 5 (15:16):
Earlier, Patel and New Jersey Senator Corey Booker had accused
each other of tearing the country apart. Patel's handling of
the Kirk investigation has faced scrutiny, with some noting the
suspected killer is behind bars mainly because his father turned
him in.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
I'm Lisa Carton, nowhere to rust your eyes.
Speaker 1 (15:34):
President Trump is extending the deadline for the TikTok band.
Chris Karagio reports this comes after Treasury Secretary Scott Assent
said Monday the US and China have reached a framework
for a permanent deal by Dance the Apps. Chinese parent
company had phaced a Wednesday deadline to sell the popular
video sharing platform. President Trump signed an order today that
will allow TikTok to continue service in the US through
(15:57):
at least December sixteenth of this year, and it marks
the for the late enforcement of the looming band. President
Trump is expected to speak with Chinese President she about
the deal Friday. I'm Chris Cauragio. Well, Superman, who I've
made over one hundred and twenty dollars between popcords, soft
drinks and tickets. He's not gonna fly on HBO Max
(16:19):
this week. The summer blockbuster will debut on the streaming
service Friday. Superman raked in more than six hundred and
fifteen million dollars in global block box office revenue, and
Superman SACA will continue with Supergirl hitting the theaters next summer,
followed by Man of Tomorrow in twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
This is boring from Boca, Wisconsin. In My Morning Show
with Joe Morning's Show with Michael Designo, Hey it's me Michael.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
Your Morning show is heard lie from five to eight
AMS Central six to nine am Eastern three to six
am Pacific on great radio stations like News Radio eleven
ninety k EX in Portland, News Talk five point fifty
k FYI in Phoenix, Arizona, Freedom one oh four seven
in Washington, d C. We'd love to have you join
us live in the morning, even take us along on
the drive to work. But better late than never enjoyed
(17:18):
the podcast. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Charlie
Kirk's assassin, Tyler Robinson, being held without bond in Utah.
Authorities in Utah say the man arrested just after Charlie
Kirk was assassinating, claiming he fired the shot later proven
not to have, is a troubled seventy one year old
now arrested for child pornography and if fed expected to
(17:41):
cut rates today.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
It's about time.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
I believe it was Woody in Dallas or Roger in Dallas?
Speaker 2 (17:48):
What was it? Oh?
Speaker 1 (17:49):
I got Dallas and Florida. But who was the first
one that was Dallas? No, there was one before Dallas. Roger,
Roger Kst, oh Roger Kst and Zacker Venom.
Speaker 7 (18:00):
Morning, Michael, Jeffrey and read I have a question I've
been thinking about a long time. There is a great
divide between the left and the right, and there was
a little wrong on both. But how do I meet
them halfway in the middle on some of these things,
like only half the government provide stuff that we should
do for ourselves, or only transition to kid part of
(18:21):
the way there, or only kill a baby halfway?
Speaker 2 (18:26):
I don't know how we meet in the middle.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Well that was That was Charlie's life every day on campus,
wasn't it. I love my audience. I love how much
you get it. I love going through these things together.
I love finding understanding together. That is a huge dilemma
we face. And again you'll hear David Sanadi and others
(18:54):
come on the show, or you'll hear me talk about
you lose God, you lose man to the minute you
don't have a creator and you're an accident and the
minute eternity is no longer a reality or a scoreboard.
Anything goes.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
Once.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
There's no right and no wrong, there's no in between.
And yes, the things that divide us in some ways
are life and death, right and wrong, and there is
no common ground. That's what makes this time so dangerous.
(19:39):
I guess that's why I hope that the turning point
in this tragedy.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Would be first.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
Looking up towards God and then looking back towards a
document about to be two hundred and fifty years old.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
But I don't see that being the focus now.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Dallas, keeping one eye on the road and one eye
looking up, has this to say.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Good morning, Michael, where is this headed? That's a very
good question.
Speaker 8 (20:09):
I've noticed through conversations with random folks about renewing their
faith in Jesus and.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Actually praying real prayers, and.
Speaker 8 (20:20):
So hopefully this will be a turning point and maybe
an awakening for a lot of people.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
Not to be too loud or anything, but come on,
thank you. That's a child.
Speaker 6 (20:32):
To me.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
I always like a toot when I passed the truck.
This is a landmine for me as a talk show host.
But here's my concern, just a safe way to say it,
that we're not talking enough about the substance of what
(20:59):
Charlie Kirk represented and more having a tug of war
over his life and body which has somehow become a
political football. And if that's true, you begin to see
how uncomfortable I am with Sunday's memorial before it even happens,
(21:21):
because I'm looking down and I'm wondering where designated survivor is,
and I'm wondering if this has become a political convention.
Charlie Kirk, first and foremost was a believer and a
(21:42):
child of the king. He was secondly a husband, thirdly
a father, he was a son. This should be a
private family I mean, I'm old school. This should be
a private family funeral. And then if you want to
(22:04):
have a political rally or a memorial, all right, Philli Stadium.
But now we know who's going to speak, both the
president and the vice president, and the Secretary of State
and the Secretary of Defense and the Health and Human
Services secretary and an advisor to the president, and the
(22:28):
president's son and Tucker Carlson and the widow. I'm just
old fashioned and Italian enough to go. How did Charlie
Kirk's memorial service become a political convention? Hasn't happened? Could happen?
Speaker 2 (22:59):
So bad? Beautifully, so respectfully.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
But I mean, I'm just curious how you're seeing this
or how I'm seeing this wrong.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
I've had one person tell me, well, he was going
to be a future president.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
So he's lying in state and he's getting a presidential funeral.
I think he's become a political football in life and death.
(23:37):
We're even going to be partisan and our ultimate handling
of a tragedy. And I, you know, listen, I gotta
be consistent. Do you know who I blame the most
for Joe Biden?
Speaker 2 (23:51):
Jill? If you're the wife of Joe Biden, you know
his condition. You know he was a fake.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
The Democrat Party couldn't have for a third time, somebody
like Bernie Sanders By it's presidential nominee. We have to
cut a deal, just like we did with Hillary, just
like we gotta get this guy in. And so they
do it.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
And then her husband, a lifetime fighter, politician, public figure.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
Begins to make a fool of himself on the biggest
stage because he's cognitively impaired. And at some point it
looks sick. That looks like Jill's at cabinet meetings. Maybe
Jill was playing president. Who knows. I you know, it's
one thing to have a president the United If if
(25:01):
my son were to die or my wife were to
die and the whole country mourned, that would mean a
lot if a president made a comment, if vice president
made a common, if everybody was paying tribute to his
life and celebration of his life, that would mean a
lot to me. If they all wanted to speak and
take over the funeral, I don't know how I feel.
Maybe you can help me. I mean, we always say
(25:22):
we're all in this together, we find our understanding together.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
Am I the only one.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Uncomfortable with the way this is developing? I mean I
made the comment earlier to which Dallas made a reference.
But we've got a furry, radicalized online, living with a
gay lover who's transitioning into being a woman, a transgender.
They're filled with hate towards one party. That doesn't stop
(25:49):
Democrats from still trying to make it he's I mean,
we still have sixty percent of Americans who think this
kid was a maga.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
Now we'll see.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
ANNMSNBC, ABC, NBCCBS, everybody else that's been convincing them of that.
Now that they've read the text messages, you think they're
going to set the record straight or and move on
dot org. But I mean, just when it gets weird enough,
a furry and love and living with a tran son
of a mega parent with a patriotic grandfather's rifle, radicalized online,
(26:27):
goes and shoots somebody because hate can't be negotiated with.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
So it's clearly the mode of the intent. It's all
laid out.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
He's not crazy, rationally planned it and rationally tried to
get away with it. In the midst of that, a
seventy one year old child porn addict Cuckoo fran and
Ali claims he did it. Later gets some medical treatment.
Oh no, I didn't do it. I'm just a nut.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
Hey do you mind if we look at your phone
and then there's child porn? Or how about this? Yesterday
we're all.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
Having a and I'm watching CNN and all these networks
saying we don't have this problem and it's not partisan
or political or no one side's worse than the other,
you know, or hijacking America with this killing.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
It's the guns. It's the guns.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
We had three assassins in court yesterday, Tyler James Robinson
who killed Charlie Kirk, Luigi Mangioni, who killed the CEO
of United Healthcare, and Ryan Ruth who tried to assassinate
the President of the United States. And the first assassinate
of the President of United States was taken out by
(27:37):
snipers or I suspected we'd.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Had foreign court. But there's no problems. Everything's just swell.
We're walking. We're walking.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
I mean, it's just I'm afraid of what tomorrow will reveal.
I really am, and I hope it's not that godly
man's senseless, tragic, violent death has become a political football
(28:07):
and is about to turn into a convention by Sunday.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
Are my concerns crazy. That's why we have the talkback button.
Maybe I need you really bad this morning. You'll find
the talkback on your iHeartRadio app. It's a microphone. You
press it and you have exactly thirty seconds to make
a comment or ask a question, or you can email
me Michael di atiheartmedia dot com. How does America feel
about political violence? Well, some Americans are more worried about
(28:36):
political violence than others, but by and large, just six
percent of Americans say political violence is not that big
of a problem and believe it or not. There are
five percent, which they could call the talkback button, who.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
Don't think political violence.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
I just mentioned we have three assassins and all politically
motivated in court yesterday. I'd like to know who the
five percent to think it's not a problem at all.
Eighty seven percent that say it's a problem. Fifty nine
percent are adults saying political violence is a very big problem,
twenty eight percent calling it somewhat of a problem. Not
(29:15):
everyone is as worried about political violence to the same degree.
Americans sixty five and older are more likely to say
political violence is a very big problem than younger adults
under thirty sixty nine to fifty percent. The younger they are,
the less they think it's a problem. I might add,
we had previous polling that would suggest the younger they are,
and the more radical lies they are, the more they
(29:36):
justified the political violence. In other words, you can have
a funeral, you can bury the latest victim, you still
have an unresolved problem. Republicans are more likely than Democrats
to say political violence is a very big problem sixty
seven to fifty eight percent. Even among groups where fewer
(29:57):
people say political violence is a big problem though very
few say it's not a problem, those groups just have
more people saying it's somewhat or are not sure.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
Even in some other key findings.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Part of the discourse after Kirk's death has concerned comments
on social media from left leaning figures celebrating Kirk's death. Others,
especially on the right, have called such rhetoric unacceptable. So
the question becomes, is it unacceptable? We shouldn't need a
poll for this, and it should be one hundred percent.
(30:36):
But according to you Guys polling, it shows that Americans
overall are far more likely to say it's always or
usually unacceptable to be happy about the death of a
public figure they oppose seventy seven to eight percent. And
it is also true, according to the research, that liberal
(30:58):
Americans are more likely than conservatives to defend feeling joy
about the deaths of political opponents. Do you realize how
counter that is to the liberal definition? Sixteen percent of
liberals say this is usually or always acceptable. If this
poll is true, it's your proof this two party system
(31:24):
isn't two anymore, and it's not all under the umbrella
of a document and a constitution and an intent of
this republic. And it's a growing number. By the way,
sixteen percent of liberals say it's usually or always acceptable.
(31:47):
That compares to four percent of conservatives and seven percent
of moderates, which by definition on how moderate that makes you,
and young Americans are twice as likely as older Americans
to defend feeling joy at a political opponent's death. Charlie
Kirk is gone. He's in heavenly rest, in the presence
(32:09):
of God. I am not worried about him at all.
I am laser focused still on the pain of his
wife and children and praying for them. And while I'm
not worried about Charlie, because I know where he is,
(32:31):
I am worried about us and moving forward without him.
And I think, after everything I've just shared with you,
I have very good reason to be worried. The patient,
the real patient, America.
