Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, I'm Michael, and your morning show is heard on
great radio stations across the country like one oh five,
nine twelve fifty w hn Z and Tampa, Florida, News
Radio five seventy w k b N and Youngstown, Ohio
and News Radio one thousand KTOK in Oklahoma City. Love
to have you listen to us live in the morning.
And of course we're so grateful you came for the podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Enjoyed two three, starting your morning off right, A new
way of talking, a new way of understanding.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Because we're in this together.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
This is your morning show with Michael Bill Jordan.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
It seems to me one thing was missed in the
whole Kamala thing when you were talking about her choosing
not choosing.
Speaker 5 (00:43):
Buddhist judge, what have you. It's really simple.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
You gotta ask yourself his feete Buddha judge qualified to
be the vice president of the United States. You're hiring
a CEO and an assistant CEO. No, he wasn't qualified. Yeah,
you can say what you want about Tim Walds. At
least he was a governor with executive experience.
Speaker 5 (01:07):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:08):
What all that brought to the table. That's Martin listening
to wkip. They put the kip in Poughkeepsie. Appreciate you
listening to this. More Martin and a great point. All right,
eight minutes after the hour. Welcome to Wednesday, September, the
twenty fourth year of Our Lord, twenty twenty five? How
is it the third hour already? How is it? Red's
vacation is half over? Are we missing him that bad?
Speaker 7 (01:31):
No?
Speaker 6 (01:31):
But he keeps sending those pictures. I can't wait for
them to stop. I don't have those views. President Trump
criticizing ABC for putting Kimmel back on. You know, we
kind of covered all of this. They made it all
about Jimmy Kimmel, then they made it all about freedom
of speech.
Speaker 5 (01:48):
This wasn't a freedom of speech issue.
Speaker 6 (01:50):
It was a punishment for an inaccurate statement and potentially
an insensitive one. He's reinstated. He's still got a product
with no revenue or ratings. Good luck with that. But
Disney has a plan. They're going to stick it to
you with your Hulu price and Disney Plus price to
pay for a show that nobody wants to watch, but
to satisfy freedom of speech. I don't even know what
(02:12):
The President's still commenting on it, the President made a
shift in his stance on Ukraine. Not only will the
US stand behind Ukraine against Russia, but now the President
believes Ukraine should take back the land Russia has taken.
That could lead to escalation the man, but it will
unite his party, that's for sure. The man accused of
trying to assassinate the President in Florida representing himself was
(02:35):
found guilty. He'll face life in prison. And that's just
some of the top stories waking up. What a thrill
it is to have, what a treasure you know Ted
Lasso the show was and one of the Emmy nominated
actors who played Higgins. Higgins was kind of, you know,
I don't know, director of communications, maybe general manager, with fun, fun,
fun character and Ted Lasso. He's out with a new
(02:57):
movie called Grow and it'll hit the theaters on October
the seventh. He's joining us this morning, and good morning, Jeremy.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
II, Michael, how are you?
Speaker 5 (03:05):
I know, we're going to.
Speaker 6 (03:06):
Talk about Grow and it'll be in theaters on October seventeenth.
But got to start with Ted Lasso. That was obviously,
I mean, you had such a rich career in England,
but Ted Lasso of course introduced you to everybody in America.
It was a great character, a character that really evolved
in a show that had great chemistry.
Speaker 5 (03:28):
I think that was one of the keys.
Speaker 6 (03:29):
And the way it mixed comedy and emotion, real emotion
and relationships. What how do you describe what made Ted
Lasso so amazing?
Speaker 3 (03:41):
I think.
Speaker 8 (03:44):
I think that Jason took a different journey into comedy
because we've had a lot of dark comedy or awkward comedy,
which is very it was just great stuff. But I
think I think he wanted to show an alternative to
the human spirit really and without being you know, all
(04:06):
flowers and Koi or whatever. Because of course we've got
people like Roy Kent in there, who's you know, you know,
who's a really confounded, tough character and and but he's
he's on a learning path as well in the show.
But yeah, I think I think the balance in the
show of showing people's hearts and and and when they
(04:29):
make mistakes is you know, is funny and heartwarming. I
think that it came at a time when everybody needed
a show like that. It was the most unexpected, unplanned balance,
you know, because we had this terrible pandemic, Global pandemic,
(04:54):
and then and the show that it was going to
come out at that time anyway, and it was what
it was, but people took to it and it was
a real tonic to them, you know, it.
Speaker 5 (05:03):
Was, Yeah, it was.
Speaker 6 (05:04):
It was a humanormously obviously a huge hit, comedy with
a heart, and it makes me wonder if we need
more comedy with a heart, although you can't do it
without that storyline and that cast. Do you think the
story was done?
Speaker 3 (05:19):
I didn't think so.
Speaker 8 (05:21):
Yeah, And you know we're now doing the full season,
as you may know, but I always thought there's.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Lots of little scenes being planted.
Speaker 8 (05:32):
It would be strange not to let those, you know,
grow as the word of the hour. So yeah, yeah, no,
and I hoped anywhay who knows it wasn't in my.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
What did you What did you love about the character
of Higgins?
Speaker 6 (05:47):
I mean, I loved, I mean, I I thought when
they when they offered this interview, and I do want
to talk about grow your new movie coming out, but
it was there were just you can't pick a favorite character,
and everybody played their role and you were such relief.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
I guess at some point I thought.
Speaker 6 (06:03):
You were like the communications director. At some point, I
thought you were like the general manager. But with all
these strong characters, I don't want to say bumbling idiot,
but you're your guy was kind of simple, appears to
not be the smartest, but might be the smartest and
sensible in the room. It's a great character and it
got you a nomination in twenty one for an Emmy.
Speaker 8 (06:23):
That's right, Yeah, I think that, you know, well, they
developed him in a really in a really cool way
because he wasn't allowed to be himself because he was
thwarted by Rebecca Welton, Hannah Wattigan's character in the show.
And he's got and you know, you discover that he's
got a whole bunch of sons and he's gotta he's
(06:47):
got to keep earning, so he doesn't want to get fired.
So but throughout the show, he's kind of like almost
like an unintentional Yoda. He's got these you know, he's
got these great takes because he is a parent and
he's had to he's got this outlook and he's got
you know, he's he's learning himself. But and he's got
(07:09):
these great epithets, these these great you know, takes on
on what it is to be a human being.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
So that that was that was a really nice development
point that.
Speaker 6 (07:20):
They made Jeremy Swift Emmy nominated actor from Ted Lasso
a fourth season coming. I hope there's a lot more
of those meetings in the office. I always loved when
there was like a personal crisis, we went to the
office because that stuff happens in real life, you know,
And then your character would always appear through a window
or something.
Speaker 5 (07:38):
Really a window. In one episode, yes, let's talk about grow.
Speaker 6 (07:43):
I guess we're in the pumpkin capital of the world. Uh,
and from there it goes tell us about this story.
I think you know, we talked about comedy with a heart.
This one is is a little bit of that and
a whole lot of English humor, which I think America
is loving.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
Well always as going back to Monty.
Speaker 8 (08:03):
Python, oh yeah, yeah, you guys have always got into
to our comedy and this is This is a comedy
for young families as it were, or people are just
like pumpkins. It centers around a little girl called Charlie
who's played by the excellent Prea rose Brookwell.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
And you just she's had ten or something.
Speaker 8 (08:25):
She's so talented, and her character is kind of the
heart wreckon it is that she's kind of been abandoned
by a mother and she's due to go down the
foster road and adoption road. And so she put together with
her her aunt who lives in the country who runs
a farm, and Dinah Little, who's played by the excellent
(08:48):
gold Reshoval, who folks might know from Bridgeston and and
and Charlie has this affinity with growing with plants, and
she can sort of like, you know, she's like she's
like a pumpkin whisperer as it were. You know, she
can sort of like to put her hands on them
(09:09):
and feel their pain if they're not if they're being
given too much you know, chemicals are fertilizer or something.
And and so she she sets out with her Auntie
to to join this pumpkin festival in the in the village,
which is fiercely competitive and and there's a huge prize,
(09:30):
of course, and and she and there's all there's this
whole host of of comic characters in the village. Uh
and and this you know, yeah, yeah, very aggressive competition
from from the Landing Gentry, a couple played by Jane
Horricks and Tim mckinnery, who people might know from black Adder,
(09:52):
and and myself mister Gregory who's a kind of thwarted
scientist who it's for a fertilizer company and grows his.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
Pumpkin in a lab.
Speaker 8 (10:06):
And my son played by Dominic McLaughlin who's the next
Harry Puzzer.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Uh and he's also so great in it.
Speaker 6 (10:17):
These are all in your homeland. They would recognize all
of these people. For America, they may only recognize you,
but everybody is terrific and kind.
Speaker 5 (10:28):
Jeremy, don't you It struck me.
Speaker 6 (10:29):
You're going to be insulted when I say this, But
the old silly movie best in show where you know
it's a simple premise, like you're describing all this premise
and everything going with that. No, listen, It's all about
how they interact with each other. The premise is simple
and silly, but the mayhem and the interaction is what
really makes it. And it is absolutely as somebody whose
(10:50):
kids are all at university now I don't have this,
but when I was, when they were younger. This is
a family movie that really celebrates fall in a way,
which is my favorite.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
Season two it does.
Speaker 8 (11:02):
You're absolutely right, Michael, and and yeah it is. It
is about community, and it's also it's about a relationship
that's growing. It's about found family and as a as
a dad of adopted kids, myself and I kind of
really relate to it. And although we wanted kids, and
(11:24):
Gilda Reshuegl's character Diana Little is very reluctant because she's
got a farm to run and doesn't want to, you know,
a sort of persistent little girl on her land. But
the way their relationship develops and grows is really really touching,
and it's at the heart of the film.
Speaker 6 (11:42):
Well, Jeremy, I wish you the best. Grow will be
out in theaters on October seventeenth, perfect timing for fall,
a perfect story of fall, and again comedy with a heart, something.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
You're so good at.
Speaker 6 (11:55):
We're looking forward to that Ted Lasso season four as well.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Sure, yeah, I'm looking for what people saying it.
Speaker 6 (12:01):
Yeah, what a delightful man actor Jeremy Swift from Ted
Lasso and the new movie Grove coming out next month.
Speaker 5 (12:10):
I really enjoy that visit. Hope you did too.
Speaker 6 (12:11):
Nineteen minutes after the Hour, not one, not two, not three,
but your top five Stories of the day are next.
Speaker 8 (12:17):
Hey, I'm Jeremy Swift from said Lasso and my morning
show is your Morning Show with Michael del jon.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
This is your Morning Show with Michael del Chno.
Speaker 5 (12:31):
Good morning.
Speaker 6 (12:32):

streaming live on your iHeartRadio app. This is your morning show,
and I'm your humble host, Michael del Chrono. So honored
you would spend time with us. I want to welcome
w E l M fourteen ten am and El Mara
Boom Bob boom bob moo. Yes, I know it was Albira,
but this is Elmira, New York. W elm Welcome to
(12:54):
your morning show. Kitchen Table, wats AM nine sixty and
Sayer Pennsylvany. And next week we got a new big
addition do We really can't tell you till next week,
but it's a big addition.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
Really.
Speaker 6 (13:15):
The man accused of trying to assassinate President Trump in
Florida decided to represent himself. He's on and one as
an attorney and he's found guilty as an assassin and
faces life in prison. Mark Mayfield has our top story.
Trump spoke about the verdict.
Speaker 9 (13:33):
I'm very appreciative of the justice that was given and
the way it was handled by Pam Bondi and Todd
Blanche and everybody that it's been and their team of people.
Speaker 7 (13:44):
The jury found Ryan Ruth attempted to kill Trump while
I was playing golf at his Palm Beach golf course.
When running for re election last year, Ruth reportedly appeared
to try and stamp himself in the neck after the
verdict was right in the courtroom. He was found guilty
of attempted assassination, assaulting a federal officer, and felon in
possession of a firearm.
Speaker 5 (14:01):
Ruth is said to be sentenced on December the eighteenth.
I'm Mark Mayfield.
Speaker 6 (14:04):
Jimmy Kimmel returned, but not everywhere Next Star and Sinclair
station sixty six in total, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia,
San Francisco, and Houston.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
Those are big markets.
Speaker 6 (14:17):
Top six did not air Jimmy Kimmel. For those that did,
they saw his emotional return and his monologue Listen.
Speaker 10 (14:25):
Kimmel didn't directly apologize Tuesday night, but he did reach
out to those he may have offended when speaking of
the murder of Charlie Kirk.
Speaker 11 (14:33):
Can you understand that it was never my intention to
make light of the murder of a young man?
Speaker 10 (14:40):
Kimmel, between jokes, defended free speech in the US.
Speaker 5 (14:44):
This show is not important.
Speaker 11 (14:45):
What is important is that we get to live in
a country that allows us.
Speaker 5 (14:49):
To have a show like this.
Speaker 10 (14:52):
He also braised Erica Kirk and spoke of his first
reaction to the murder of Charlie Kirk.
Speaker 11 (14:57):
I posted a message on Instagram of the dames killed,
sending love to his family and asking for a compassion.
Speaker 10 (15:03):
And I meant it, and I still do. Andrew Whitman,
NBC News Radio, New York.
Speaker 6 (15:08):
Is it a really free speech issue. It's a very
expensive speech issue for Disney. The overall pie of late
night revenue is in half, from over four hundred million
to two hundred million. The portion Jim mckimmel's show gets
depending on if you look at gross, which is seventy million,
but then again his salary and gross with incentives comes
(15:30):
to forty something million. If you look at the net,
which is forty million in revenue and his salary base
of fifteen million, the numbers just aren't there, and the
audience is down in demo eighty percent and there's nothing
free about it. And now Disney plans to pay for
this losing show by jacking up the rates of Hulu
(15:53):
and Disney Plus. So now for people that want programming,
they got to pay dearly for the programming they don't want.
Speaker 5 (16:01):
Go figure right.
Speaker 6 (16:02):
Hey, Today is National Punctuation Day, and listen to Breed
Tennis closely because there will be a quiz today.
Speaker 12 (16:09):
We show some love to the symbols that clarify meaning
and convey emotion commas, exclamation points, question marks, and persons,
and the octathorpe. That's the technical name for the number sine.
Depending upon your age, it could also be known as
the pound symbol or the hashtag. Grammar experts say the
exclamation point is the most overused mark, the comma the
most misused, and no need for excessive punctuation. They say,
(16:33):
one mark is usually enough. I'm Bree Tennis and.
Speaker 5 (16:35):
That's your top five story.
Speaker 10 (16:39):
My name is Joey from Goodyer, Arizona, and my morning
show is your Morning Show with Michael del Jorno.
Speaker 6 (16:51):
Hi.
Speaker 5 (16:51):
It's Michael.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Your Morning Show airs live five to eight am Central,
six to nine Eastern and Great Cities like Memphis, Tennessee, Telsa, Oklahoma,
Sacramental Care California. We'd love to be a part of
your morning routine, but we're happier here now. Enjoy the podcast.
This is your Morning Show. Honored to be here with
you on Michael Jeffrey serving us both.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
I'm one.
Speaker 6 (17:14):
I think there's a about a fifty percent chance I
could spontaneously break out into a Sounds of the Day sequel.
Speaker 5 (17:23):
I feel it coming like a belch. I do, You've
got plenty?
Speaker 6 (17:26):
President Trump'm not happy that Jimmy Kimmel's back. Meanwhile, the
man accused of trying to assassinate President Trump in Florida
was found guilty. He'szho and one as an attorney, and
he faces life in prison. And Google is now offering
YouTube accounts that were permanently banned for political speech the
ability to be reinstated as the whole narrative in America
has shifted away from the failed business model of late
(17:49):
night talk TV to the crusade for freedom of speech.
Speaker 5 (17:53):
Roy O'Neil is are your morning show correspondent. He's joining
us with.
Speaker 6 (17:57):
His take on the Kimmel Big Return. First take would
be he didn't return everywhere.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
No, he did not.
Speaker 13 (18:04):
The big TV station group owners next Star and Sinclair
said they were not gonna air the Kimmel's show on
the ABC stations they own, So that's about a quarter
of the country or so wasn't able to see it
in their local markets. Of course, thanks to social media,
everyone's been able to see the monologue if they want
to see it. I think it's also available on Hulu
now as well. So, uh, there's a.
Speaker 5 (18:27):
Pay dearly for next month, which are also going to
be extra.
Speaker 13 (18:30):
You wonder if that was a left hand right hand
and Bob Iger was just said for crying out loud,
you know who didn't think to, you know, reschedule that
announcement that the price of Hulu and Disney Plus is
going up.
Speaker 5 (18:41):
Today, Well it sure looked like a strategy.
Speaker 6 (18:43):
So Disney slaps fans with higher prices to pay for
Jimmy Kimmel is what It's easy.
Speaker 5 (18:48):
I mean, it's like it's like Mickey. Mickey was at
the board meeting, all right, goolfer.
Speaker 12 (18:52):
You want this guy, You're gonna pay for it.
Speaker 6 (18:54):
We're jacking up Hulu and we're jacking up Disney Plus.
Speaker 13 (18:57):
I mean, it was just what a pr nightmare, right, Yeah,
just a bad move overall, especially as so many people
had been dumping Kimmel and dumping ABC and Disney Plus.
That was probably the funniest joke of the monologue was
when Kimmel said he had to read something from Disney,
pulled out a piece of paper and said to resubscribe
to Hulu and Disney Plus.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
Goodness, that was so.
Speaker 5 (19:21):
He made you laugh, And that was my reads list.
Speaker 6 (19:23):
No, no, listen, look, you know I did this to
you yesterday, said I'm going to turn you on your
head with this one.
Speaker 5 (19:28):
I used to love Jimmy Kimmel. I think he was
very funny.
Speaker 6 (19:31):
And I can trace back the ratings loss for Late
Night and him, especially to twenty fifteen into twenty sixteen.
And I think it was a big joke when Trump
was running for president. It was not funny when he won.
And you hang out, you live in Hollywood, you read
the things they read you. You know, you listen to
the things that they're saying. You're repeating the same things
that they're watching and saying, and you developed this Trump derangement.
(19:54):
And for all of Late Night, with the exception, I
think of Jimmy fallon. They went overboard, especially during COVID.
I mean then they didn't even have the studio audience,
and it was just like the monologues were just so
flat because they were just so politically vile, and that
along with technology and a shift people don't watch network television.
People have the attention span of fifteen seconds. I mean,
(20:17):
Rory the greatest point is today, if he had anything
to say, I didn't watch it last night, did you
I did?
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (20:25):
You did?
Speaker 6 (20:25):
Okay, Jeffrey? Did you work for work purposes?
Speaker 5 (20:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (20:29):
Yeah, all right, so I didn't even for work purposes.
But this is how people are consuming late night television
the way I'm doing it with the best of clips
from the monologue in the show. The problem is you
have a very expensive show you're putting on and no
revenue available and no audience. It's down eighty percent. It's
still a failed model, not a free speech issue.
Speaker 5 (20:51):
So I don't know long term where this goes for them,
but I think.
Speaker 6 (20:55):
They find to pay for it through our Disney subscriptions.
Speaker 13 (21:00):
With his contract being up early next year, you know,
does he come back in any way, because you know
he's also got who wants to be a millionaire, which
has been popular. He just won the Emmy Forward again
last week or so. So whether or not he's all
done at the network comes spring, who knows what his
role will be. Does he come back to host the
Oscars from time to time? It's pretty complicated. Yeah, he did.
(21:22):
Did he apologize?
Speaker 6 (21:23):
Not really, He did cry, and he did say it
was never and I actually believed this. It was never
his intention to make light of the death of a
young man. I agree with that, but he was wrong,
and he did try to pin it on a mag
a follower, and he didn't apologize for being wrong about that.
And then he then he did a whole, very long,
(21:44):
systematic attack on the FCC chair and on President Trump
and how they've changed, and he made it all about
freedom of speech. Will you be able to hear this
if I play this? I think he let's find let's
find out find out the hard way. This was the
(22:04):
very ending and I want you to listen to this time.
Speaker 5 (22:08):
Well yeah yeah, but I'll be play again for the
listeners and tend you.
Speaker 6 (22:11):
But this is the point of they still don't get
the problem in shifting the focus of the show.
Speaker 11 (22:19):
A moment over the weekend, A very beautiful moment. I
don't know if you saw this on Sunday, Erica Kirk
forgave the man who shot her husband. She forgave him.
That is an example we should follow if you believe
in the teachings of Jesus as I do. There it was,
(22:42):
that's it, a selfless act of grace forgiveness from a
grieving widow. It touched me deeply, and I hope that.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
It touches money.
Speaker 11 (22:57):
And if there's anything we should take from this tragedy
to carry it forward, I hope it can be that
and not this. So thank you for listening, and Alan
Morris say when we come back.
Speaker 6 (23:09):
All right, So that was beautiful. The part that I
didn't play was the part where he said we have
a lot of common ground, like anti gun and like
women's abortion rights. Yeah, you know, but in some of
those we don't have common ground. We have great differences.
And so you know, I don't know where do we
go from here with all this? And I'll give you
the final say.
Speaker 13 (23:30):
Yeah, I think it's going to go back to just
the declining ratings.
Speaker 5 (23:33):
Everyone watched it.
Speaker 13 (23:34):
The numbers are going to be off because sinclaren Next
Star didn't air it, so the ratings are not going
to tell the story. But yeah, I think it's going
to continue to fade into oblivion. Roy o' neil, with
great coverage all day, Appreciate it. We'll talk again tomorrow.
If you're just waking up. These are your top five
stories of the day. It's forty two minutes after the hour.
Let's start with numero oh No.
Speaker 6 (23:55):
President Trump has met with Ukrainian President Zelensky at the
United Nations Up more now from Mark Mayfield.
Speaker 7 (24:03):
Trump was asked if NATO nations should shoot down Russian
aircraft that entered their airspace.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
Yes, I did.
Speaker 7 (24:08):
In Mark, the fourth time the leaders have met since
Trump has returned to office, says they look for an
end to Ukraine's war with Russia. Trump said the US
has great respect for the fight that Ukraine is putting up.
He added, the ongoing wars not a good thing for Russia.
Speaker 5 (24:21):
I'm Mark Mayfield. Well.
Speaker 6 (24:22):
President Trump wasn't thrilled with Jimmy Kimmel being back on
ABC and Tammy Trio has the detail that.
Speaker 14 (24:29):
Truth social post Tuesday Night Trump City quote, can't believe
ABC fake news gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back. He
added that the network told the White House Kimmel's show
was canceled. Trump also indicated his administration might take action
against ABC, saying Kimmel is an arm of the DNC
that could be a major illegal campaign contribution. He went
on to say, last time he went after ABC, it
(24:50):
gave him sixteen million dollars. I'm Tammy Trio.
Speaker 6 (24:53):
You may be asking yourself, why is the president playing
this game. It's actually aiding the left. The tension is
now dramatically getting away from an emotional memorial service or
the ultimate attack on free speech, the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
And you're making this a big you know what match
(25:13):
over FCC and the president, which is playing into their
narrative of censorship and freedom of speech. And again, this
is just another feeble attempt to explain to you. If
you're looking at a stadium, the big aerial view of
a round stadium and it's just filled to capacity with fans,
(25:37):
what you can't see from that areal is who's rooting
for one team and who's rooting for the other. You
just see the large crowd. When you are the president
of the United States, you're playing to the large crowd,
and both your fans and the other team's fans are listening,
and at the end of the day, that becomes the matrix.
(26:00):
And so for one side of the country, they're no
longer thinking about Charlie Kirk, They're no longer praying for
his wife or his children. They're no longer crying, they're
no longer impressed with your memorial service. They moved on
to a tyrant dictator president who's trying to send people
who don't agree with him out of the country. Silence
people from television, even on the business model is what
silenced them. The American people left, That's what silenced them.
(26:28):
And then there's your side that sees this for what
it is. But the reality for all of us, that
big view of the stadium, we're not healing, we're not uniting.
They have solidified. They have managed to take the narrative
in less than forty eight hours, away from Erica Kirk,
(26:49):
away from Charlie Kirk, and put it on Kimmel and
put it on free speech. So the matrix continues, and
with the trajectory towards the further division and a march
towards further civil war. Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Pete Hegsath is
closing the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services.
Speaker 15 (27:08):
Tentigon Press Secretary Kingsley Wilson shared a post on x
announcing that Hegseth had decided to terminate Dakowitz due to
its focus of advancing a divisive feminist agenda. The panel
was established in nineteen fifty one and meets on a
quarterly basis to promote military readiness by shedding light on
challenges female service members may face. Hegseth's decision follows an
(27:29):
announcement earlier this year of a review into Pentagon advisory committees,
pausing all panel operations and purging all members only.
Speaker 5 (27:36):
Said Taylor, Well, I.
Speaker 6 (27:37):
Didn't watch it the first time inasmuch as.
Speaker 5 (27:40):
I love what burns. I didn't watch it the second time.
I don't know you're gonna watch the third time.
Speaker 6 (27:47):
But the Lifeguards at Baywatch are returning to television. Foxes
ordered twelve episodes in a reboot of the Lifeguard drama
series for twenty twenty six and twenty twenty seven. The
creators of the original series will serve as executive producers.
The original was a mainstay of syndication television in the
nineteen nineties, airing for eleven seasons starting in nineteen eighty nine.
The cast of the reboot has yet to be announced.
(28:10):
Anybody wondering whatever happened to p Diddy, Well, his lawyers
have kept up with it and they're trying to get
him out of prison before the sentencing next month.
Speaker 5 (28:19):
Scott Pringle reports.
Speaker 16 (28:20):
Defense lawyers wrote a letter to the judge calling for
no more than fourteen months in prison when the rapper
is sentenced October three, and that would mean Combs would
be free almost right away based on time served.
Speaker 5 (28:31):
In the coming days.
Speaker 16 (28:32):
Federal proseuors will let the judge note their sentencing recommendations.
Combs has found guilty in July of transportation to engage
in prostitution charges and cleared of more serious charges. Scappringle
NBC News Ready out in New York.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
It's your morning show with Michael del Chorno.
Speaker 6 (28:49):
We do breaking news coming out of Dallas. A sniper
shooting at an ICE facility in Dallas. Ice as in
Immigration and Customs Enforcement. We believe that there were three
victim shots who are in critical condition, and we believe
that when the police approached the shooter took his own life.
We'll keep you posted on the very latest of that,
(29:10):
and so will other shows as you continue to listen
to this great station. Former ESPN and MSN contributor Keith
Overman is one of the more vile angry. I mean,
when I think of Keith Oberman, I think what would
it be like to live inside that mind and spirit
so dark you would think of all timing now would
(29:33):
be the worst time to make a public threat of
a political opponent, And that's exactly what he did with
Scott Jennings. The quote is vile your next mother effort,
but keep mugging up for the camera. He later took
it down. Jennings shared the screenshots and tagged FBI director
(29:57):
Cash Pattel. Then Oberman comes out with an apology. I
apologize without reservation to Scott Jennings. Yesterday I wrote an
immediately deleted two responses to him about Kimmel because they
could be misinterpreted as a threat to anything besides his career.
I immediately replaced them with one specifying what I actually meant.
(30:25):
So if your stance is, first of all, I find
the freedom of speech issue involving Charlie Kirk being assassinated,
not Jimmy Kimmel temporarily being removed for an inaccurate comment
and really an insensitive joking subject. But if the left
is crusading and making this now all about Donald Trump,
(30:48):
not a third transgender shooter, certainly not guns, but about
Donald Trump. He's deporting enemies, he's silencing enemies. He's a tyrant,
he's out of control. We're losing our democracy. Apparently it's
okay for the mother to get it, but not Jimmy Kimmel.
(31:10):
And of course, the frightening reality that this proves where
we're at, and where we're at is we're right back
to the divided states of America. We're not healing, we're
not finding common ground. Everybody's doubling down, including the President
with his attacks on Jimmy Kimmel and ABC and threats
(31:30):
to ABC, playing right into the left narrative. I wanted
to end the show and give the final state to
Jimmy Kimmel, and I want you to listen very very carefully.
Sure he's clever, but listen very carefully.
Speaker 11 (31:43):
Look, I never imagine I would be in a situation
like this. I barely paid attention to school. One thing,
I did learn from Lenny Bruce and George Carlin and
Howard Stern. Is that a government threat to silence a
comedian the president doesn't like is anti American, That's.
Speaker 10 (31:59):
Anti I.
Speaker 6 (32:02):
Am so glad we have Can Jimmy Kimmel prove to
you that the President of the United States not his
inaccurate statement that the shooter was maga and they were
trying to cover it up is what got him suspended,
because no one's proved it to me yet. I also
don't buy that this is a freedom of speech issue.
(32:24):
The reality is you have no revenue and you have
no audience. This is an unsustainable business model, partly because
of your obsession with politics, and partly because technology has
moved everyone on watch where he goes some.
Speaker 11 (32:40):
Solid garity on that from the right and left and
from those in the middle like Joe Rogan. Maybe the
silver lining from this is we found one thing we
can agree on, and maybe we'll even find another one,
Maybe we can get a little bit closer together. We
do agree on a lot of things. We agree on
keeping our children safe from guns, reproductive right for women.
Speaker 6 (33:03):
Keep children saved from guns, reproductive rifle. But by the way,
just to show you he's still blind. I mean, I
know he didn't pay attention in school, but he's not
paying attention in life. No, we don't agree that guns
are the problem. In fact, some people are focusing on
transgendered issues right now because the last three mass shooters
have been transgendered, and they're telling us that was the reason,
(33:26):
just as they made it crystal clear. They don't believe
others have the right to have beliefs differently than them.
That was the free speech issue. And America is not
finding common ground and killing babies. They still don't get it.
And that's the final say. Hey, let's put it all
behind us. One chance to live this Wednesday, September the
twenty fourth, make a difference in someone's life. Make sure
(33:48):
you cherish yours, get your head out of all this nonsense,
and let's go be light and I'll see in the morning.
For the next year.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
